16.75 Hours in the Sun / Strolling Outside / Indoor Cardio Feb 2021

24.50 Jan 2021

Lookahead:

Assurant / Geico: Condo insurance revision...waiting on Assurant bc i need doc revised for Housing Company...i get my incoming mail pdf's of the envelopes emailed to me, seems i'm getting something from Assurant today in the mail, 2/23/21, so i'll take a look tonight on what that is!

Tuesday:
No extra cardio tonight; upper body exercises tonight :), take care of my two personal items...both are taken care of...DONE

Eats:
banana and coffee 150

egg mc muffin (was supposed to have sausage that i removed from my order easily using the app), free, with app, no purchase necessary! 300

snack: if necessary - granola bar 150

lunch: good leftovers tbd rice 250?, meatloaf 250?, cooked veggies 100 - slightly boring veggies but should be pretty tasty with everything alse going on....maybe step out and buy a diet coke, but, the forecast shows 100% rain...but i don't see it!?...diet coke was good, i swear i may just finish the 2.5 serving bottle this afternoon, but we'll see...650 def not more.

snack: reeces dark choc pb 150

1400.....

dinner: tbd, thinking to have more salad (iceberg and add a little cilantro in also for taste, oil, spices), grilled cheese & chicken bacon...maybe half a sandwich as the bread is thick and adds up to 300 calories once i add a tiny bit of butter...so, maybe half the sandwich, not sure.  my own salad (will eat a big one, have tons of shredded / bagged iceburg lettuce varieties) with mcdonalds..$2 for 4 nuggets with free medium fries so i'll eat some of them and save some in the fridge to heat up another day...with these low prices, mcD's will come up weekly probably. salad with olive oil 100, fries 250, nuggets 200. 550-600. some kombucha?

2 choc towards end of workout that did last awhile bc i took too many breaks, but at least i am more relaxed and awake tonight than last night and even all day today :)

2100.

Wednesday
Cook brussel sprouts after work, slow cooker for ease in water with a little salt.

Saturday

Repeat order of what i did over a month ago (January 16th) kombucha whole foods / amazon delivery again, if available.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 02/23/2021:

horn_of_plenty on 02/23/2021:

bearcountrygg on 02/23/2021:
Free food at Mickey D's...what a deal!

horn_of_plenty on 02/23/2021:
i thought so, too. especially a nice english muffin and egg...the cheese i could have done without, didn't love the taste, but overall it was a free breakfast sandwich!

Lookahead:

Assurant / Geico: Condo insurance revision...waiting on Assurant bc i need doc revised for Housing Company...  call this Friday AM or whenever everyone is out of the office ?

Take care of two other mailings...bills

back to more of a regular schedule with workouts on Tues/Thurs, etc...

on the mcdonalds phone app, there's tons of freebies! lots of food, free. like, fries medium for free with any $1 purchase! or, a free egg mcmuffin without any additional purchase even!...may do this for breakfast one day this weeK! hello, i like free, and mcmuffins aren't even high calorie!  i have a mcdonalds next to the subway station i use by work which is why mcdonalds will pop up time to time...and it's cheap, so, and tasty, so...it will happen! woohoo!

 Monday
do notarizing for friend at work, stick in work outgoing mail when I complete it all....nope, she sent me an electronic signature, so no notarizing today...i called her to fix it.

mile walk during commute home yay (unless it's raining)...rained a bit but got off bus a little esrly at the end :)

reading on commute and tonight to relax before bed of my book "down and out in paris and london," by orwell...yes....

sleeping early tonight bc last night wasn't ! :) :)  :)

Monday eats:
Breakfast banana 120 (stomach is a little gassy - basically i pooped all weekend since i hardly pooped during the week - this will be my MO for awhile as i am a nervous pooper and cannot do it at work when people are present and working near the bathroom), coffee 30. 150
wrap with ricotta 220.

10:45 snack: tbd - maybe almonds but i don't see that happening as much as a granola bar might happen, lol...tbd....Sunbelt (cheap brand love it) choc chip granola bar 150 so good. always fresh.

Noon lunch: leftovers, balanced: white rice sooo soft even after being frozen, sooo fluffy (was frozen with liquidy items which is why everything heated up so well in the microwave!) 300, veggies in curry sauce i think? 100, meatloaf small piece but a full piece at least 3oz 300...: 700 at least prob.

snack: dark choc pb mini reeces x 3 130

dinner: tbd at home...not sure...got tons in the freezer, totally not buying anything that's for sure!...no cash in checking except for maintenance fees this month and not using credit card when i have no cash to pay it back...later in week i'll prob do some takout, though! salad just greens, seasoning, olive oil 100, grilled cheese toast and butter 300, cheese & chicken bacon 110..510..

1/8 smaller piece no sugar added store bought pumpkin pie, tasted good after my dinner 160 cal only.

decided also on an alcoholic beverage which is more calories but I do not mind today 100

2100 good.

Saturday
try to see if i can repeat what i did over a month ago (January 16th and the kombucha has lasted me until probably this weekend - great deal for me as otherwise it's more errands on weekend to get it which also means not always finding parking, time, etc...):  kombucha whole foods / amazon delivery again if available.

grannyannie on 02/22/2021:
Have a good day at work.

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
Will do :) and you have a good Monday as well!!! :)

grannyannie on 02/22/2021:
Thanks! I think everyone is a bit shy about pooping at work!

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
yes, i'd agree at least the majority!!!!!!

bearcountrygg on 02/22/2021:
I remember you used to drink kombucha in the mornings.( to kickstart things)......What if you drank that as soon as you got home at night....maybe it would help the bathroom issue and you wouldn't have to be so miserable at work. I think that is why a lot of people drink coffee in the morning..it is an intestinal stimulant....

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
your idea is great...i drink a cup of coffee at work, doesn't do a thing...

it's something related to "flight or fight" hormones and not feeling relaxed enough for the muscles to do anything during work....

even when i take a trip, i have gone 10 days without when i went to israel. i may improve with time, but, i have so far only went that way to the bathroom at work when seriously nobody was left in the office and it's been just me (either Thursday or Friday.)...but yes, i used to relax in the AM before work when i could get up later...now i refuse to get up any earlier.

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
i will say your suggestions are good, but my body is like an iron build and nothing esacpes, beyond lots of GAS! hahahaha

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
all weekend, very relaxed, nothigng but loads of gas (which occurs bc the smooth muslces are moving to also make you poop) and poop...well over 3x per day, both days, to make up for the week of lack of pooping. crazy.

Jacky82020 on 02/22/2021:
I hope the amount you owe on taxes does not kick in a penalty. It did for us 2-3 years ago. Said we’d be fined. Never heard from them. Get scared everytime I see a letter from the IRS.

If you underpay by a certain %, they get you. Can’t recall the %, but since then we have them withhold more, including 10% when Matt was furloughed & on unemployment.

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
yes, i was notified by Turbo Tax i was maybe going to be considered for underpayment, except, with covid and what happened, i am sure the 4k makes up for it...i am sure there are so many people in my boat...and also i will pay every penny back, i will not stall on it....but interesting you bring this up. if i ever have the choice again, i guess i'll try having them withold taxes, instead of having to pay them back later.

Jacky82020 on 02/22/2021:
You can’t stall. They increase the penalty. But I believe one can arrange payments. Interest may accrue during that period, idk.

I wish they’d just fine me and get it over with.

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
yes, someone else told me that yesterday, how you can do multiple payments. since i have enough in my savings to cover the 4k easily, i'll just blow thru 4k now to not have a problem later. owing money to anyone should be taken care of asap, always! LOL, you want them to fine you!? no way! not me!

Jacky82020 on 02/22/2021:
Well wait & see what the IRS says. They will send a letter which you have to sign, acknowledging you underpaid. They didn’t say by how much & what the penalty was. I am surprised they never got back to me. That letter was signed & sent off the same day.

horn_of_plenty on 02/22/2021:
weird!

Donkey on 02/23/2021:
Have you thought about running the water in the work bathroom to help you relax? The water also covers any sounds.

I know some folks with serious poop issues like yourself, both at work and family. You're not alone in this.

horn_of_plenty on 02/23/2021:
i even run the water at home, sometimes!...because the wall of my bathroom shares a wall with this 20-something-year old's room!...

at work, i do it sometimes, but, i'm trying to at least be able to pee without the water, tho, if i am gassy or something i may run the water, yes...thank you for the reminder - appreciate it always.

Saturday:
sleep in / reading in the AM & PM...

I may have to take one of my guinea pigs to the vet...he has mouth sores ...prob Chelitis :(....overall he'll be ok...it's one of my older pigs, not the baby.  i have been using coconot oil on the one pig's lips and the others are seemingly ok, haven't caught it really...so i am going to keep using coconut oil this week and only go to vet next weekend if need be if it doesn't keep healing. i really don't want to go to the vet if i do not really have to.

Leave apt at 12:30pm for 1:30pm Friend's 40th drive by party, already bought a very inexpensive sparkling chanpagne and also an amazon gift card to make up for the really cheap champagne which i'm debating keeping for myself, actually....YESdone, nice visit :)

pick up seltzers...and some other groceries - done

3pmish maybe earlier: if it's walkable outside, walk at Valley Stream park on the way home from the drive-by party....would be nice to walk at one of my long-time favorite places since childhood. stopped at parents on way home and walked around the community with my mom, arouund 45min walk done

8pm: Zoom happy birthday for same friend's 40th with everyone, especially since most didn't decide to do a drive-by...alright, i'll give the champagne...it'll be more worth it to drive

Organize mail related to taxes....maybe won't happen tonight.

Saturday Eats:
oats 150, dried cherries 150, small banana 120, almond milk 30, also some wafers 160...610 and a coffee...650.

couple chocolates 100

12:30 light lunch grilled cheese on toast with the rest of my fresh goldenberries fron nyc supermarket 400, some garlic, some bbq sauce...kombucha 50

pb at parents house 150 - walked with mom

5pm mini meal after stopping at supermarket...found a no sugar added pumpkin pie, not the best and it has maltitol in it, didn't realize till i bought it (i generally don't like using maltitol as i've had really bad side effects). but it's fine and i had a quarter of the pie for only 325 calories and a coffee 25. Bowl of warm slow cooked veggies in a broth just to get them cooked while I was out =  great idea !!!

1750....

150 choc

1900...

Sunday:
laundry anytime

full body afternoon

not gonna be cooking much, tho not sure...or cook a stir fry or any veggie dish is fine based on the veggies i mostly have at home - slow cooked veggies on Saturday while i was out, i kept them in the slow cooker :) will eat them with the curry sauce leftovers. done!

Do taxes ??? :) ....i'd like to know what kind of Money i'm dealing with this year in terms of taxes...i highly doubt i could owe very much...however, when i was unemployed for 10 or so months, i didn't have taxes taken out of my weekly unemployment checks, so, that may be quite a bit to owe...I think it might amount to $50 per week....so, ugh....we shall see how that works itself out....whatever the math is on Turbo should be right...now i need ot make sure i have all my tax documents...will start the turbo tax up but probably not file on Saturday night just yet...will wait till sometime in March...

next week - back to more of a regular schedule with workouts on Tues/Thurs, etc...

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Oh that's too bad about your piggie. I hope it's not too painful for him.

So if I want to "join" you in the evening celebration, should I have a glass of wine or a can of seltzer at 8pm? (7pm my time)

Horn_of_plenty on 02/21/2021:
:)

bearcountrygg on 02/20/2021:
Hope the little guy gets better quickly.....that doesn't sound very comfortable.

Horn_of_plenty on 02/21/2021:

Friday:
Upper body only tonight....would soooo rather skip workouts tonight as i don't love Friday night workouts after a full work week , but, I already skipped once last weekend....so, I'm just trying to just maintain my progress here...

...so thankful on Wednesday i got full body out of the way - Wednesday's workout ended late but thankful it's now completed and friday is upper only...!

no extra cardio - have a strength workout already in play for tonight as prev mentioned...and do NOT want to prolong the night with any other activities including cardio!

Friday Eats:
wrap 110 whole wheat with ricotta 100, coffee x2 50 and banana 120..400...

snack: almonds chocolate granola bar 150

lunch: will be a white rice 150 / chili combo 250...with fruit x2 also 100 and a chocolate 50 or two 100...maybe i go out for an energy drink but prob the best bet would just be yet another coffee...ugh...or i can get a diet coke, which is better/cheaper than an energy drink...yeah...  550

...something like that...will leave office for a quick run to the nearby gas station that has a huge selection, right around the corner at work during lunch after i say hi to my sister who might actually walk by with her baby...she lives under a 1/2 mile away! for real! it's a coincidence that i'm working near where my sister lives (she lives in an apt in NYC and stays with my parents most weeks with her baby because he attends a school program from 2 year olds near parents for now)...forgot to bring my wallet when i went to meet my sister and didn't want to come back and forth into the workplace a thousand times...so not buying anything to drink during lunch

snack: 2 chocolates and a coffee...which only made me hungrier as caffeine always does...one more choc, too mcuh caffeine, counteracting that!

6pm dinner: not sure now...prob will be mcdonalds that i get on the way home (will actually pick it up in NYC before heading out on the train to queens, after i stop at the supermarket also in nyc, and heat up quickly in oven once i get home.....veggies are prob a better choice, mcdonalds not going to fill me enough....shredded lettuce drizzled with curry sauce 100, nuggets 200, fries 300...600, cup goldenberries 50

8:30pm wafers before a SHORT workout....200, 10:45pm 2 more wafers just finishing workout 100

2150

3pmish maybe earlier: if it's walkable outside, walk at Valley Stream park on the way home from the drive-by party....would be nice to walk at one of my long-time favorite places since childhood.

5pmish: Buy veggies for stiry fry on way home from LI - do this in Valley Stream as i'm already stopping there to walk..buy veggies after..? (red / green peppers, baby bok choy?, eggplant?, little bit of carrotsi have onions that i totally forgot to pay for / take out of my bag at the supermarket! a bad accident! it was only two little ones is the reason, ...no stir fry...will be using up veggies and only buying bagged spinach to heat and eat with the leftover curry from last night...freeze it for individual portions for next week's lunch. and also need to pick up some more veggies, specifically for the pigs of which i may eat some of. (1 cilantro/1 lettuce/no more tomato bc lip scab on one of my pigs/1 carrot/ 3 peppers)...I may do this after work by work and get cash back at the key food here by work, before heading home for the weekend...just to make everything easier...and buy some change of different bread.

8pm: Zoom happy birthday for same friend's 40th with everyone, especially since most didn't decide to do a drive-by...alright, i'll give the champagne...it'll be more worth it to drive

Sunday:

full body afternoon

not gonna be cooking much, tho not sure...or cook a stir fry or any veggie dish is fine based on the veggies i mostly have at home

I think i want to write a book in the far future, once i am done taking classes. I can't say what about or anything, but, it would be a cool endeavor that i'd spend prob over a year doing, or more.  just wanted to get that out on paper. Something i would start like next Fall, maybe work on after my 39th bday and hope to finish by my 40th or close to that time, slightly after by the time i turn 41 in 2.5 years from now. this is all just a hypothesis at this point.  for any other details, you'd have to message me on fb.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 02/19/2021:
Do you just spread the ricotta on the tortilla....do you warm it? Sounds good...I think I have only bought ricotta once in my life many years ago...and it was drier than cottage cheese...not even sure if it's available around here.....will check that out.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
YES, it is drier than cottage cheese which is exactly why i like it. calories are almost identical AND i found a lower fat option...it's only around 90 cals for a whole 1/4 cup which is a good amount to spread on a tortilla. since i'm at work, i just spread it on an untoasted tortilla and find it tasty with a coffee. I wouldn't do that with cottage cheese as it's not as a thick concistency and i therefore wouldn't find it good on tortilla like i found the ricotta to be....and ricotta is better calories than sour cream (i was first going to buy sour cream to eat with my chili, but settled on ricotta which i realized would also work in breakfast wraps!)....so i can use ricotta a lot so that it doesn't spoil.

no warming things at work as much, unless i want to warm lunch in microwave. there is a toaster, but i have no patience, LOL!

good questions.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
ricotta is in all our supermarkets.

bearcountrygg on 02/19/2021:
I will look for ricotta the next time I shop.....When we lived downstate we had a lot of different stores to choose from and they were a lot bigger. I think I bought it to put in lasagna....sounds good and a good source of protein and calcium I'm sure. Thanks for all of the info.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
yeah, it would prob be great in a lasagna. i'm sure you enjoyed it.

grannyannie on 02/19/2021:
Healthy eats! I don't remember ever buying ricotta. Must have when I used make lasagna decades ago.

Nice that you can visit with your sister.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
lol...i guess ricotta has been added into the supermarket dairy section in the last few decades then? or like maybe since the 90s...something to look into later when i'm more interested in doing that.!!

Jacky82020 on 02/19/2021:
HOP, what kind of book? A memoir? I gave up research biology for writing. Wrote 20 novels, sold 4. Sold more dumb short stories for women’s mags than I can count. Sold articles & photos to bird mags, (own parrots), wrote a newspaper column. Wrote papers & chapters in textbooks while doing bio research. And a bit more.

A friend has asked me to co-write a biography. Not sure I will. Too much work!

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
some kind of self-help / autobiogrpahy...HA. more like something people may find interesting based on someone else's experience. diet, etc. don't wanna say too much but i think it could be very interesting insight into habits and how to change them.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
if you co-write, who knows...if it's a good enough topic it could sell! what's the topic.

Jacky82020 on 02/19/2021:
Very easy to self-publish on Amazon etc these days. I know ppl who do ok that way, but are obligated to spend much time promoting themselves. Once in a while self-published books go big and are picked up by big publishers. I

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
This is most prob what i will do, i have a friend who self-published and is always self-promoting...her book is VERY subjective and quite crazy she wrote what she did. all about things people said on the jobs she worked on as an electrician and all the rudeness projected towards her as a female electrician!

Jacky82020 on 02/19/2021:
See my feed. Cartoon for us Lol

Horn_of_plenty on 02/20/2021:
so are you the one with the cold feet or the sneaky one with the insoles??

thinkpositive on 02/20/2021:
Taxes- ugh. Good luck with that! Writing a book! Exciting!

Horn_of_plenty on 02/21/2021:
ty, Think...no book for longer than i wrote in my entry...prob not going to write it until i turn 45 to start the book...i totally do not have the time for it currently! :) but thank you, lady!!!!

Assurant / Geico: Condo insurance revision...waiting on Assurant bc i need doc revised for Housing Company...

Thursday:
We are having another heavy snow storm, i did go to work and i think i'll be able to work the full day although it will snow around 6in i believe.  i will stay up on the MTA transit service and if there's any shut downs or service changes due to snow, but honestly if the snow total stays around 6in, i think the service is going to stay regular...

so basically, i'm planning to work the full day...and bed early...really...

i must stay in touch today with the warehouse workers who have the key to close the gate to my office...i cannot leave / must notify them to close the gate..and make sure they are here when i leave...

this is about it for today.

work actually has been busy all morning :) can you believe it!? doing lots of things that just came up, within this morning! seriously didn't think i'd be busy..

Eats:

wrap whole wheat with ricotta 220, coffee 30 x 2...kombucha earlier 300...

snack banana 150, later couple candies 50.

looking forward to an early noon lunch: leftoveres from yesterday's warm spinach salad with ricotta nice amount 200/ pancetta just a little bit seriously 50 / ****ake....part of a small roll leftover 100 fruit plum 50...400 still hungry...hot coffee but decaf i think, yes, and couple chocs. 50.

snack...before i go - prob chocolates...chocolates 100

1050...,

excellent, looking forward to this curry, just veggies, will add tofu at home as i have some in my fridge to add...i like to do this bc otherwise i don't get a lot of veggies when i order something with meat / tofu it is a lot less veggies...but i guess i shouldn't care as i can always make more veggies and add them into the extra curry sauce later...something to think about!  it's also cheaper as just a veggie curry....ah, it's savings other way...or money rather way! it's how you think about it! ha!!

dinner: rice and chili and a big grapefruit? just wanna get home ;) skip ordering thai with my lack of funds, though, it may be nice to binge on thai veggies after coming home in the snow...so thai is a biggggg possibility..with the tofu i have at home..as a reward for a "snow day" at work! :)...why not. you only live once!...plus i can order the lunch special prices since i order before 4pm ;)

snow stopped, ordered this:
Panang curry: pastes vary somewhat from brand to brand, but they typically include dried chili peppers, galangal, ginger, lemongrass, kaffir lime zest, kaffir lime leaves, coriander root, coriander seeds, and cumin seeds.

so dinner: summer roll with noodles 100, fried tofu 150, veggies in curry sauce 150, such a small amount of veggies though may need to ask for like a dbl portion next time or supplement with my own, later I had some kombucha 50, wafers 150...600....

1650...and a chocolate just hungry 50x2

1750.

bed early.

Friday:
Upper body only....so thankful on Wednesday i got full body out of the way - workout ended late but thankful it's now completed and friday is upper only...!

prefer to relax Fri night by starting taxes, but nervous that i will get no money back this year... but seems a workout is in store :)

no extra cardio - have a strength workout already in.

Saturday:
sleep in / reading in the AM?

Leave apt at 12:30pm for 1:30pm Friend's 40th drive by party, already bought a very inexpensive sparkling chanpagne and also an amazon gift card to make up for the really cheap champagne which i'm debating keeping for myself, actually....YES?

3pmish maybe earlier: if it's walkable outside, walk at Valley Stream park on the way home from the drive-by party....would be nice to walk at one of my long-time favorite places since childhood.

5pmish: Buy veggies for stiry fry on way home from LI - do this in Valley Stream as i'm already stopping there to walk..buy veggies after..? (red / green peppers, baby bok choy?, eggplant?, little bit of carrots, i have onions that i totally forgot to pay for / take out of my bag at the supermarket! a bad accident! it was only two little ones is the reason,

8pm: Zoom happy birthday for same friend's 40th with everyone, especially since most didn't decide to do a drive-by...alright, i'll give the champagne...it'll be more worth it to drive

Sunday:
laundry anytime

full body afternoon

not gonna be cooking much, tho not sure...or cook a stir fry or any veggie dish is fine based on the veggies i mostly have at home

maybe cook my pumpkin pie, with an oreo crust; cook a stir fry - buy veggies on way home Satuday

Do taxes :) ....i'd like to know what kind of Money i'm dealing with this year in terms of taxes...i highly doubt i could owe very much...however, when i was unemployed for 10 or so months, i didn't have taxes taken out of my weekly unemployment checks, so, that may be quite a bit to owe...I think it might amount to $50 per week....so, ugh....we shall see how that works itself out....whatever the math is on Turbo should be right...now i need ot make sure i have all my tax documents...will start the turbo tax up but probably not file on Saturday night just yet...will wait till sometime in March...

next week - back to more of a regular schedule with workouts on Tues/Thurs, etc...

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 02/18/2021:
Careful in the subway...I'm hearing some pretty gnarly things happening there.

horn_of_plenty on 02/18/2021:
yes, it's really unbelievable what people think they can do down there!!!! thank you!

Jacky82020 on 02/18/2021:
Not much snow here, but a friend in Buffalo NY is getting lots.

Began doing taxes. Hate it! The brokerage accounts are the worse part. I’m wondering how Turbo would handle them. Thinking they would want access to my accounts which ain’t happening. I’ll muddle through as always.

Think the Feds tax unemployment, but not the states. Matt was on it for a while & was sorry he got called back so soon, Made like $1200 a week what with that extra $600. He did have the Feds withhold 10%. I have their form.

horn_of_plenty on 02/18/2021:
no, turbo doesn't access anything directly....will write more another time...

...yeah, i didn't do the witholding option while unemployed, i took it all...

good thing i WAS unemployed from Jan-March...so maybe that withholding will cancel out the non withholding during Covid...hopefully i get a little something back and do not owe anything, but, i'm not too sure just yet.

grannyannie on 02/18/2021:
Stay warm in all that snow!

I'll be checking out the wraps when I shop tomorrow. Didn't want to order online.

horn_of_plenty on 02/18/2021:
lemme know what you get!

bearcountrygg on 02/18/2021:
Amazon is really good about refunds.

horn_of_plenty on 02/18/2021:
totally!

Donkey on 02/18/2021:
I'm glad you were able to work and come home OK. What inspired you to get take-out? I am having one of my portions of frozen chili for lunch at work tomorrow. Oh something to look forward to!!!

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
my friend in Paris is what inspired ME to get takeout! she always posts her "luxurious" takeout meals and she is lucky she gets money from her father who did very well when he was working to help her support herself there. she's the one i stayed with when i went to paris. she is highly self sufficient, indeed, but still she doesn't need to ever worry about money and she regularly loves to treat herself. she has inspired me to take advantage while i can (really!) of working in the city...and order while there are restaurants around and just totally give it as a gift to myself, always, within some very slight reasoning! :)

for lunch today i am also having chili, one that didn't get in the freezer but only the fridge as i made it recently - most of the rest is in the freezer though!

tonight, i'm going to buy some spinach and heat it...and put the leftover curry sauce on it...so i'll have "free curry" tonight with store bought bagged spinach and the leftover curry sauce...planning to start freezing leftover curry sauce (as it's always so much they give!)

grannyannie on 02/19/2021:
Mmm...Panang curry. Hubby makes that sometimes and I eat if often in Thailand.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
not spicy right?

grannyannie on 02/19/2021:
Amazon is great about refunds here as well.

horn_of_plenty on 02/19/2021:
another good perk of amazon.

When to do my taxes...a very sedentary activity......

I HAVE DECIDED TO SIT ON MY FOOT WARMER INSOLES, lol...LIKE A HEATED CUSHION!

Wednesday:
Get thru today as easy as possible, change my aggrivated mood to happy...attended the meeting last night - was ok - it was online but lasted from 7-8:30...of which my guinea pig actually lasted without peeing on my lap, unseen to everyone on zoom that i was holding the most relaxed pig the entire time. meeting was OK. heard good speakers, but it was just long....leaves me feeling tired today..i think it's just a mindgame, but what can i say...just happy to do MY WORKOUT tonight, full body, and not speak on the phone.

Full body tonight...try to stay relaxed today so i have a good amount of energy to get thru it early in the night, with time to rest afterwards, sleeping not too late :)

Wednesday Eats:
breakfast: cheesecake 350, coffee 50,
snack: banana lg 150
550...cpl candies 50

lunch: supposedly work is ordering...and supposedly my order is a tasty warm spinach salad with a little meat and cheese..looking forward if this is the case, also paid for by work...ok very fatty pancetta but it all tasted good, lots of cheese, ricotta patty flat form also, and ****ake muchrooms and ample amounts of everything! best is it was free and still even if i had to pay, a decent price at $11 for a salad that can easily be 2-3 lunches bc it had that much in it.  Now i have leftovers for tomorrow...pancetta 150? just small pieces, cheese 100, salad 50, bread 250...rest of an energy drink....550...VERY filling.

snack: chocolates 100

early 5:30pm dinner before a workout: toast and melted cheese good amount of cheese and nice potato bread (from the freezer!) 350, salad with peanut dressing that coworker offered me so nice. nice man (married - so not like that!). 150. 500. gummies 150.

1900.....

Thursday:
mile walk, during commute...might have another heavy snow storm, if so, not sure i'm working...if not working, i will do my taxes...

Friday:
Upper body only.

Saturday:
Friend's 40th drive by party, already bought a very inexpensive sparkling chanpagne and also an amazon gift card...

Buy veggies for stiry fry on way home from LI

Do taxes :) later in evening when i'm home from the "drive-by party"....i'd like to know what kind of Money i'm dealing with this year in terms of taxes...i highly doubt i could owe very much...however, when i was unemployed for 10 or so months, i didn't have taxes taken out of my weekly unemployment checks, so, that may be quite a bit to owe...I think it might amount to $50 per week....so, ugh....we shall see how that works itself out....whatever the math is on Turbo should be right...now i need ot make sure i have all my tax documents...will start the turbo tax up but probably not file on Saturday night just yet...will wait till sometime in March...

Oh I have those moods too! I hope that it passes quickly for you, because I know that you are generally a positive person. That is to say, that usually you project the positive side of things. (Not that you don't have down moods and such, of course.)

I've been trying to keep my mouth shut when I'm going through an aggravated mood. If my husband spots it, I usually tell him he's right. I also try to give my co-workers fair warning by letting them know it's not a good day. Anyway, if you're aggravated, try to keep it to yourself -- and I only say this so that you don't create more problems for yourself or others.

Even a most positive meeting can weigh heavily if it's one more task to do during a long day. That's kind of how I feel about yoga sometimes. That's also why it would be difficult for me to do anything after working all day.

I hope you have an excellent workout tonight! :-)

horn_of_plenty on 02/17/2021:
you totally get me!

also, i sorta did let off my mood by quickly sharing how i had a meeting last night with coworkers lol...and i felt a little better after not keeping it to myself...LOL...it helped me have to just keep internalizing my mood and why to just say it out loud and let them know. eh, whatever...whatever helps!

grannyannie on 02/17/2021:
I'd be useless for a nightime meeting! Hope you feel happier as the day goes on.

horn_of_plenty on 02/17/2021:
but i only had to attend, not speak...you should have seen it: PEOPLE WEARING SUITS ON ZOOM!

not i. i had a fleece. and i had a blanket over me on the couch (nobody could see that...or the pig!)

i will try hard to up my mood as that will help me have good exercise tonight...i hope to get thru the exercise rather swiftly...i can't even think of doing it all evening! ha!

bearcountrygg on 02/17/2021:
It was a win win for you and the GP last night.....

horn_of_plenty on 02/17/2021:
HUGE.....everyone was so serious in attendance, i could see on their zoom videos, but i smiled throughout, def happy with the pig...after the meeting, instead of being riled up as usual when i actually go out to the meetings, i was relaxed and took a shower..then promptly went to relax on the couch and feel asleep....so went to bed when i briefly woke...haha...

my point is i think holding the pig helped me relax and i was able to sleep straight thru the night afterwards..

bearcountrygg on 02/17/2021:
I've seen some funny Zoom call results....guys in suit coats but with jeans and boots.....one guy with a dress shirt and underwear...women with work appropriate clothes but pajama bottoms...there are a lot of funny ones out there.

horn_of_plenty on 02/17/2021:
yes, funny memes!

Maria7 on 02/17/2021:
Hope you are feeling better as the day goes on...try to look at it as half full cup and not half empty cup, like they say...put a smile on that face...relax...take care, HOP.

Horn_of_plenty on 02/17/2021:
thanks Maria, the day got better...now just finishing this workout! :) xo

When to do taxes...a very sedentary activity...was thinking to do it when i can possibly take a day off, in April, but, realizing it's best just to take some time on any weekend closer as i am sitting around on the weekend a lot, anyways, lately, and do them...This weekend i'm slightly busy, already, but perhaps i'll be motivated to start taxes on Saturday night this weekend...

I HAVE DECIDED TO SIT ON MY FOOT WARMER INSOLES, lol...LIKE A HEATED CUSHION!

Tuesday -

Add $ to MTA metrocard...$50...hopefully before work, depending on my timing...so it's done & i don't have to think about it further! DONE!

walk partial commute home if it's not raining...or go on bike at home for short while...hopefully....yes, no rain atm or later...to be DONE!

After work, 7pm virtual meeting for Welfare club (just the name of a club, it's not related to "welfare," it's just a club for the wellbeing of it's members....grrr, never in the mood for a meeting lol; to be later DONE!

sometime after meeting most probably and not before, freeze / portion out food for the rest of the week from leftovers so that it's easy for me for the next few days of work & nothing gets wasted!

Tues Eats
Low cal nice protein bar i realized i had at work, 150, because i didn't want to eat my last wrap as i want it to have for lunch...need more bread or wraps for work, to take from home and bring with me tomorrow rather than go to supermarket to buy when i have half a loaf already at home that i shouldn't waste..., coffee 50.

snacking: banana for health / digestion 150 ...keep me regular as it's been such a problem bc of stress/work/commute (at least i can use the bathroom on weekends, LOL)...later on a granola bar 150 also.

lunch: my chili, smaller amount 200, with a wrap 150 (last wrap at work...) and ricotta fresh 100 and new...450...maybe the rest of Friday's energy drink (stays good in the fridge...)

snack: 2:45 chocolates 150....grrr.....in a low mood, but now too low lol....easy actually to perk myself up by thinking good thoughts :) ....i'm serious! must be the long weekend that has kept me sane!

early 6pm dinner before online meeting @ 7pm tonight: white rice 250, chili 250-300, very fresh and soft choc filled wafers 200, kombucha 50...800

1900 :)

after meeting clean up my fridge/freeze meals to see how many meals i can figure out of my chili...

pack my portable battery for work....but just realized it's a phone charger size for iphone, not for regular usb...i do not think it will work for the insoles....need a different portable battery i think...need to think more about how to wear the insoles without needing them plugged into the usb of a computer, need a portable battery with usb connection....but still it's dumb because i will have wires running all the way out of my shoes...hmm....this was a bad $20 insole purchase i realize now...but i will just try to make it work, at work...and not make any more purchases on foot warming devices as i'm really out of money and really need to function at work not being cold and just work at it....and use what i have. no more efforts will be made to find anything else for foot warming going forward. totally out of funds and energy to buy anything else.

Bed early :)

so glad i dyed my roots last night...it really wasn't so terrible as i do not have a lot of gray yet....i should really not put it off until the last minute anymore, LOL.

Wednesday:
Bring my potato bread to work and keep in fridge for bread this week, will finish it up by lunch whatever i have at work now...

Full body.

Friday:
Upper body only.

Saturday:
Friend's 40th drive by party, already bought a very inexpensive sparkling chanpagne and also an amazon gift card...

Sunday:
laundry, full body, not gonna be cooking much, tho not sure...

cook my pumpkin pie!?  :) with an oreo crust :)

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Donkey on 02/16/2021:
Nice schedule! I'm so glad you had a nice day off yesterday. I ran out of time to comment.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
me too...it was a time to get a lot of things that were looming done...and i TOTALLY understand when you do not have time to comment! :) no worries there!!!!

Jacky82020 on 02/16/2021:
Did you return the heated socks? Did you get a hard sell for a store credit card? I did, Most aggressive one ever. Should have said YES! when she asked if I had the card.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
whenever i return to kohl's (did it once before) i am refunded the same day in amazon credit which is totally fine...or on credit card...but whatever it is, i got a refund and email that it's been processed.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
i kept one pair of socks, since they did work well...to use for walks around my neighborhood...they fit pretty well.

the heated insoles have heated but i see they can only be worn while plugged into the outlet at same time...so it's good as long as i don't get up from my desk...i will keep them...although they suck bc they need to be connected in order to be heated LOL...so it's like i need to be "plugged into" my desk and not get up unless i want to take my shoes off....i should return them...but, i have already cut them up.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
would be soooo much better if the socks had a remote type of thing going on...like i could walk around with the insoles as they heat...actually, i just realized, i can.....if i use a portable battery...which i have!!!!!!!!! ahhh, figured it out!

grannyannie on 02/16/2021:
I freeze the bread because one loaf is too much for just me. It would get stale by the time I ate the entire time.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
yeah...do you freeze the slices individually??? not together right? because they'd all stick together then?? i need to fix this wasting of bread...!

grannyannie on 02/16/2021:
Bread thaws out very quickly after freezing. I freeze 2 - 4 slices together.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
okay....i'm thinking just to freeze the potato bread and keep bringing my wraps to work...bread is easier at home, when i can make it into toast...wraps i find better at work.

grannyannie on 02/16/2021:
I used to eat a lot of wraps. I'll check them next out next time I shop and see what kind of calories they have.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
i have really low ones at home, whole wheat like 110 cal but not good to eat with my beans...too much fiber...craving the white ones, but a medium size, around 150 cal...there's such a GREAT variety of types! :)

grannyannie on 02/16/2021:
I used to buy the whole wheat ones and sometimes the small WW ones. The bread I use for sandwiches is 92 cals each, so a big wrap would be a nice alternative.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
yes, for sure. nice cals. i can no longer do wraps with tons and tons of fiber..gives me issues..so i like a natural whole wheat or the lower fiber white ones.

horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
i prob could do WW now, but in the past i couldn't bc i was eating a lot of high fiber foods and it became an overload of fiber all around, bad diet i used to have. now i'm upping the carbs for more natural, less havoc on my system! LOL

Donkey on 02/16/2021:
The picture I had in my mind of sorting on the insoles made me chuckle inside, but actually, that might not be a bad idea! Definitely more flexible in where you can apply the heat!

I don't know that there is a wrong way to make chili. I hope you didn't take my method as a criticism!

Horn_of_plenty on 02/16/2021:
lol i'm glad i can feel the heat from the insoles thru all the padding in my booty....

....def not criticism from you ever, i'm glad you told me how you cook it; and made me realize there's many alternative ways and to try them all, when i can, for diversion of tastes and methods. it's good to hear new ways and new methods from you, i appreciate it always.

kohls was near a takeout poke place abs the guy didn't hear me order a small and so I got abs paid for a medium size which is annoying bc it's sushi and uncooked fish which means I have to eat it all soon and not save it for too long and it's more $ but oh well! Lots of sushi grade tuna, 250 at least, some chips fried 150?, salad, dressing 50?, seaweed a bit 150? 650 tops and still have some fish leftover..i think it should be OK for dinner tomorrow evening...or lunch or both...after that, it'll be spoiled.

That sweet potato pie sure looked good this morning.

Horn_of_plenty on 02/15/2021:
thank you! it's a full 1/4 of the pie hahaha....

i found the same brand today at the supermarket, no sugar added, pumpkin pie...very low cal even with the crust...sadly, the one near it had a small amount of mold, so i decided i'll just make my own today, low sugar pumpkin pie and not buy yet another one at the store today! to answer the question earlier in your mind, yes, they are still selling the pumpkin / sweet potato pies near me!

grannyannie on 02/15/2021:

George Orwell had a house on a very sparsely populated island in my county. It's where he wrote 1984. (although he was English).

Horn_of_plenty on 02/14/2021:

Donkey on 02/15/2021:
Is it safe to cut the heated insoles? Are they chargeable like Jacky's? If be afraid to cut through a wire.

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend, and for you, it's not over yet!

Horn_of_plenty on 02/15/2021:
yes, they are supposed to be cut, thank you for reminding me that i have to work on them tonight...and see if in fact i'll be able to cut them enough; or if i'll have to return them next weekend! i hope they'll fit well enough in my shoes to leave at work and use daily....

they have marks on them for cutting...but i agree with you...gotta see about it.

was nice to have this extra day, very relaxing weekend overall!
