Hi all! Been sleeping great, no pills. I may wake up a few times during the night but I find it quite easy to fall back alseep. Def great sleep all weekend.

Bigger breakfast: banana 120, cooked cranberries 60 in a protien muffin 220?, chips 130, and also part (but didn't finish it yet!) of a greek yogurt 100 with some ghee added (dumb, will not do again as the ghee hardens up yuck!). 100. total here: 750 i'll say, wasn't that much ghee. 

lunch: turkey sausage jerky 110, wrap 60 with two spinach potato cakes 160: 330, excellent and satisfying. higher carb. feeling good.

1pm raspberries 100

2:30pm ice cream 250

 i think the time at home this weekend allowed for easy fridge access!

100 cal in a fiber 1 bar and caffeine before gym

dinner was healthy, feeling back on track! Subway flatbread with veggies & roast beef along with my own extra veggies and a small plumm 450 tops.

2000 today. 2050 2-day avg. GOOD :)


gym will def be in early afternoon...i may go to Richie's gym where I work...we'll see...in the mood for something different!

planning for early gym, home early, laundry before gym sometime after i take a shower this AM in afternoon to early evening. that's it. gonna read. chill.

I admit not being motivated more than just to relax today. I give myself permission to chill. to relax.

No, i don't think so actually ! I was overeating but tend to do it when home all day...i think it was because i was still a bit tired...going out drinking even though i got home early-ish around 9pm Friday really got me exhausted. I get that way easily with social events because i like my alone time, you know? and it was a lot after a long week...and i didn't behave well at the bar...hooked up with someone (only there, not bring him back or anything!). anyways, i feel good in general. and i hope talking about drinking didn't upset you. I don't love drinking, only every so often - because i don't like the extra calories. if drinking was free calories, i might do it more often haha. otherwise, no. and also it tends to wear me out & make the rest of the weekend less productive, but i'm ok with this weekend being this way...

i may be writing about the bar just one more time this month, a friend's bday in 2 weeks. and another friend is having people over this friday, but i intend to NOT drink...i can always just have seltzer :-D these are my close friends for both.

anyways, thank you for the comments...i will be commenting back tomorrow on journals :-D

Last night was nutz. Drank like a fish, hadn't done that in YEARS literally to the point of getting very drunk and getting a ride home. I need to pick up my car, it's only 2mi or so away. no biggie. will do it later.

I got good sleep, passed out in bed without washing my face or even brushing teeth and not even changing my clothes. !!! It was around 9:30-10pm at that point...then i woke up midnight and finally changed when i woke up into PJ's lol. then i was back sleeping from around 30min or so later until 7:30am. it was good, much needed sleep. Didn't sleep great all week, especially on gym nights. but i am not even angry / annoyed about it as it has become my life and i have accepted it. Balance in general is better than it's ever been for me and for that I am very thankful.


8:30am breakfast: ghee (a rich clarified butter i just bought) 120 cal  mixed into a protein muffin 220 in double chocolate flavor with added cooked cranberries 60 and then also i started the day with a banana 120 and also had some light strawberry ice cream 80. total so far today is: 600. pretty balanced actually - in terms of fat, carbs, protein.

12:30 lunch: some more of the monster energy drink, chips 210, turkey sausage jerky yep still from package from i think last weekend in fridge 120. total around 330.

930, good.

My plan is to walk to get my car prob take around 45min-hr. got it around 2pm and got a lot of veggies. 

3:30pm huge meal, was starving: apple / potato 100, chips 250, nuts 200, tons of cooked veggies in no sauce including cauliflower / broccoli, 50, kale 50, and bean sprouts 50. total: 600-650. decent.

1550 so far i'll say. not gonna be as low cal but it is healthy which is more important right now...

 7pm dinner: squash soufflee 240, ice cream 240, and some of a seaweed salad 50 at least. total here around 550.

total today: 2100. good.


it almost 4, not sure if this is happening...??? pick up 2-4 candles from Bath & Body Works (big sale!), take a look at the food in the place next door, also go to stop & shop for a few veggies (not much) and decide if i want to also pick up hot veggies on my way home. that's it. laundry prob tomorrow not today. not sure.


just relaxing now...will get my car around noon...and that is when i plan to also pick up some veggies (only have some in freezer frozen packs that i do not feel like - thosee are emergency really!) and maybe buy a couple candles on sale at Bath & Body Works - lowest price of the year - $8.50 per candle and i do love my 3-wicks. that's it for today.

it's a slow, low-key weekend. laundry, small errands, gym are priorities but hanging out was last night. done with socializing / plans to go out for this weekend already. getting back on track. i want to do some stretching / walking. I may actually WALK to get my car! now that i think about it - it's only 2 mi or less away. YUP.

yeah! my drinking was on completely empty stomach. it was my dinner lol. the calories add up so darn quickly!

and once you get a little tipsy, inhibitions to stop are lowered! lol...you must have the greatest time at your friend's house for dinner!

ohhhh yeah...def ooops...prob shouldn't have kissed this guy and been all over him in the bar...oops on that! but....it's ok...i don't see any nites as crazy as this one for many, many months if not years...there will be drinking yes for a party in two weeks, but not like this. NO no!

When i typically drink this way, i don't feel good the next day or even if i feel well, which i did feel well this time, i was less motivated for the rest of the weekend...

decent, yes. prob not even a weight gain amount....did a lot of walking on weekend and was more active overall this week. so, i'm ok...but...i prefer in general a lower average for the NEXT TWO WEEKS. i like a leaner look, which is seemingly harder to maintain. the more muscle i get, the leaner i get, but more flabby it seems at the same time. strange.


Friday journal edit: it was a "Liquid Dinner" - aka no dinner, only drinks and shots. I got EXTREMELY drunk and went to bed dizzy. no throwing up luckily. i left my car there, 5-10 min from where i live so now i have to get my car...i may take the bus to get my car on purpose as a way not to take the easy way out (car service / cab).  A friend, that i hooked up with at the bar last night with only there who also gave me the ride home, texted me if i want to meet for breakfast and to get my car = NO WAY. i didn't text him back yet. I want the day to be spent relaxing, alone...def not having breakfast with the dude i was kissing at the bar (along with a bit of other naughty stuff) because i don't have a desire to date him or anything - it was fun in the moment, but nothing more than that.

calories i don't know...had some whipped cream and some drinks were sweet. 

probably like 2200 calories today.

drinks included: 2-3 shots i think, and 2-3 drinks of seltzer with stevia and pineapple rum! for the shots, prob around 150 cal x 3 = 450 and whipped cream 150-200? so 650 here most...and the 2-3 drinks 100 cal each or so? 300-400. total here around 1100 for sure.

for weekend, i want to keep cals lower around 1500-1600 would be nice on both days...really.

Still Cannot Believe how FAST this year went by! Feeling good.

Home: little bit of seltzer and some of a sparkling ACV drink. 30.

And i hard boiled almost the entire dozen egg carton i had picked up around 2-3 weeks ago. GOOD. Hard boiled perfectly and shelled them all for easy eating later...will eat almost the whole package today, actually. i took out the yolks of most of the eggs i'm eating today - except for one whole egg with breakfast and one whole egg at lunch, the rest are whites for today. TASTY. I've been wanting those eggs all week :-D  I also took a look at an Avocado that's been sitting on my fridge...took some of it, threw out the rest. Was getting old, so only took some of the part that was still fresh...good to not shop and use what i have here..

Breakfast: one whole egg, 3 whites 140 (already ate 2 of those whites lol nice and fresh and warm!) with some avocado 100, wrap 60, mustard 10: 310. banana 120 (not stopping with this right now, good for settling my stomach and for potassium)...

460 total above.

snack: bar 170, decaf coffee 20.

650 before lunch, good. 

Big lunch: potato 200, squash 100, 1 egg 80, 3 egg whites 60. 450 or so...oh and some kale 50.

1150 after lunch...oh...and an apple 50!

1200 after lunch, healthy.....

out for dinner tonight but grabbing a salad to have with bar drinks. need to stay healthier and keep calories in check..!

I THINK that i MIGHT need to eat more calories if I'm going to increase my walking...increase calories into the 1900's instead of 1800's balance...

Good plan I often boil a full dozen of eggs a great source of protein for many dishes or salads. I find that each year goes by faster and faster as I get older and I so remember when I was a kid and the years where so long and Summers seemed to last for ever... lol Have a great day J.

yes, i have noticed FOR SURE that the years get faster the older i get. Particularly with my current job which is more day in, day out and less vacation time - the constant typical and more routine structure makes the weeks FLY! i am currently content with it...and life :-D Ever since i was around 30, i have noticed how life has taken up a more rapid pace year to year....flying by.

it's made me want to think twice about life - and making sure to enjoy as you always emphasize. And make sure to plan for fun times with the people i enjoy most.

LOL...we do have great microwaves and even a new stainless steel toaster...but....i usually eat the food cold because i choose to bring it in plastic and know it's not a great idea to heat up in plastic. i don't mind eating cold at all...and i don't want to clean extra which is why i don't heat it up in something glass i can leave here...LOL...would you ever eat the food cold?

Now that my best friend (no longer) is out of the picture, I have a decent balance going on lately of seeing other family & friends as well as some necessary alone time / time to take care of my own needs (fitness, health) and strengthen myself and goals. It feels overall really good.

Happy last month of the year, wahoo! This, overall, was a very positive & successful year for me.  I achieved many fitness / health / relationship / friendship goals and I am a better person now than i was at the start of January 2016. I look forward to continuing to challenge myself, learn & grow in 2017. :-)



When I say I'm not feeling awake, I mean it.  Slightly pissed off feeling for no great reason. ugh. but event though i'm feeling a little beat, i'm still happy in general and positive. No worries...

I already know it takes sacrifice to balance fitness and full time job when living in NYC area like i do. This is old news. I make the choice to be HAPPY.  I make the choice to be content with my decisions. I have made that choice. And I will never turn it back around into a negative spin.

So many people around me have had deaths and sickness in their families and they are forced to have to deal with these sad times during the holidays.  I only have control over my own life & my own decisions. For this I AM THANKFUL.


Home: ACV with stevia in seltzer. no cal.

Work: extra lox 150 on wrap 50 with cream cheese 80 280, banana 120. 400. energy drink. coffee 50.

snack: a bar - probably the brownie protein bar by atkins. nutty fudge brownie. approx 200. extra milk in coffee also. 50.

lunch: extremely healthy - mix of leftovers: chicken sausage 120, potato 200 tops, bok choy 50. maybe small apple 080. 450-500. and popcorn. 100 more.

1350 or so...good. still coming off a habit of eating a bit more since around Thanksgiving / week or two before.  I'll be ok as my calories are def still within a healthy range overall.

before gym: bar & caffeine 100. and the apple - i don't think i ate it yet. 50.


after gym: protein muffin 220 with cooked cranberries 60, entire pint of low cal ice cream 240 and chips 140. NOT THE BEST. overate a little bit still. i don't know why...emotional i think. 660 UGH.

2150 or so. NOT GREAT.

will be good calories today...around 1750.

1975-6day average. tomorrow i plan to bring a salad to the bar that doesn't have food.


gym is for weights. i may start going to both gyms for weights. joined the cheaper gym next to work for $100 until end of May. I joined it for cardio both during the day & after work.

6:30am Home: half banana 60 & ACV in seltzer with stevia. 60.

8:30am work breakfast: whole banana (feeling the need to have extra potassium as well as extra banana to keep from bloating after the ACV in morning.) 120, wrap 60 with lox 100 and cream cheese 90. 370. Coffee 50. 420.

Snack: Will be an Atkins Nutty Fudge Brownie 170.

Total before lunch is great: 650 :-D Healthy.

Healthy Lunch: rest of the leftover white meat turkey from last Thursday (not eating any more leftovers after today!) 200-250, leftover greens 200, and roasted potato / veggies 150 – 600 approx. fine! and maybe apple 700.

1350 after healthy lunch.

Tonight’s plan is early dinner followed by early to bed. I am not planning any exercise aside from walking in the bldg stairwell a few flights if I want to increase heart rate before dinner for like 10 min. Tonight is about relaxing.

I have 4 sick days left to use between now & April 1st.

I am planning to take one on 12/9 (next Friday) because a friend is having people over for dinner at 7pm & I don’t want to be up at the crack of dawn and go to the dinner. Same with the following Friday after that – 12/16 – it’s a friend’s birthday and will be going to a restaurant followed by a bar. No need to be up at the crack of dawn and then be up late that night when I don’t have to be. Sick days used wisely & to the rescue. This is going to be one heck of a wonderful Winter!

and yes, i've been chatting with Paul again and visited him 2x at his work but not again as he said he was embarassed. oh well. he's the boss, so i didn't think he'd get embarassed. like, he is the big fish there, nobody else...

so yes, we've been texting around 1 month. no progress, but def nothing bad either. I am attempting to push him to reach out to me, as it's myself who's usually the initiator. but i know this, i am not upset, and i have enough on my plate right now. i can wait right now for as many months / years as he needs as dating / marriage and stuff is not a priority on my end. But yes, i love him. he's my idea of the ideal guy.

i want him to invite me back to his neck of the woods where he lives again (45 min to an hour from me). i like that area better than mine...and i prefer to travel to him. he has a nicer place & i would only share mine with him if first he was comfortable getting to know me MUCH better than now and long after i visited him several times first.

I hope to get to the point of planning my sick and vacation with any skill. How do you keep track? Do you also track any days you were late, took a long lunch or were out early? What about in early/out late? I'd like to be more reliable for work, but can't get a grasp on how to track it.

YEP! wow, you guessed my habits for sure!

yeah - I track it all on the computer at work. I made a few different excel files. I try to be on time, but, i do track ANY obvious changes like being late, a different or skipped lunch, or leaving late. We don't get paid overtime at all, but it's good to track so that if i work extra, i don't feel bad about leaving early on another day. Like "banking hours."

I do it with excel. and i add it up...

also, it's mandatory we make our own time sheets, so, i have that record too (but it's not accurate as much as my own records). time sheets are basic and only the total hours per day which are supposed to be reported as always the same in my case. that's why i do my own records separately.

for vacation, we need to submit vacation sheets, so i save them on the computer too. and for sick days, i just make sure to keep track of how many days i take and have left (5 sick days per year) (14 vacation days per year). I definitely keep track.

 Home last few sips of a kombucha and also ACV with stevia in seltzer - 40 cal.

Work: first coffee 50 (came a little late and little appetite, so saved breakfast for 10:30am). banana 120, wrap 60 with cream cheese 60 and salami 110. total here: 400.

450 before lunch, excellent.

Lunch: healthy leftovers including some white meat turkey 150, veggies sauteed 200, also cashews 150, small apple 50 - 550 or so. excellent.

total so far: 1,000 :-D

snack before gym: caffeine and special k bar 100.

1,100 cal before gym - prob more like 1200 before gym, lunch a little bigger

after gym: 300.

update 4:20pm - darn i'm tired...i think bored...still going to gym of course...craving sugar for no reason. just want to sleep. didn't sleep great last night.

1500....and added chips. 1600.

 4day:  1885. excellent!

Thanks Puddy. Starting to really put myself first here...will rejoin the gym next door to work so that i can walk for even 10 min during the workday on their treadmills which breaks up sitting on my booty. So, $100 will be spend after work i think - on the gym next door to use for the next 6 months as often, or not often, as i prefer! Options & convenience are the name of the game when it comes to weight maintenance, health, fitness, goals.

500 cal before lunchtime, excellent. No snacks, just coffee.

1150 after a healthy lunch of mostly veggies, some in sauce, leftover seared tuna from yesterday's lunch, and a large kiwi. !!!!

Looking toward maybe a slighly sweeter meal tonight - like a protein muffin or something!...ended up having chicken sausage with roasted potato and root veggies (more leftovers) and some light ice cream. not more than 650 i doubt.

1800 today = great!

 1980 3-day avg. good.


Thankful & back to work Monday Morning :-D 

Eating was pretty good over the weekend & also I am really LOVING the extra alone time to better my health (mainly physical i mean) and spend it actively outside at the park.

On Winter weekends, it will be my goal to walk & be more active when it is sunny outside, even in the dead of winter. I am so thankful for this opportunity & winter to spend strengthening my leg muscles so that i certainly will begin jogging in early Springtime.

I do like to see friends & family (and have been spending some extra time with family & probably will continue to do so thru the New Year in January), but now is not the time for extra socializing and careless fun.  Now is the time to continue to redefine, continue to make myself stronger, to be independent & to work extra hard to secure my dreams for my own future.

Now is the time to spend my freedom wisely. To spend it with nature & the outdoors. To visit parks. To continue to walk the two miles that it seems my body is happy with (or walk any distance shorter if that's what i want). And continue to make it so that I am happy with my life - both now & in the future. I am taking life by the reins & doing purposeful things to help me. 

I was invited to a party for my gym but doubt i will go - it's on a Friday night in a couple weeks & it starts 9:30pm which is quite late for a party after a full day of work. I guess it can depend on how my ankle feels? Why  dance and screw myself along? So, I may skip. Then, the following week is a friend's bday...and it's also a Friday night on which i will take the day off to sleep in & be able to fully enjoy a party at a bar - without a full day of work before it!

I have 4 sick days to use now thru April 1. So i'm using them  in order to really enjoy a social life when i can...like the Friday of the party which i will meet friends for dinner before the party and not have to be up at the crack of dawn when staying out late the night...i'm trying to be smart about things. And not to attempt to do everything...not possbile.

For this winter - it's pick & choose for me. It's do what i can, not do extra, and making sure to take care of myself & my health and not get sick like last year during wedding season for my sister when in fact i was much busier & stressed.

It's perfect timing to better myself & make my dream come true (NYPD academy in Summertime!)

Good quote right?...I really am striving to make huge changes for this winter / spring / summer. 1/2 mile walk. :-D in evening. it was breezy and it's all i wanted to do. 10 minutes near the end of waiting for laundry in dryer and taking it back out ! haha.

Morning Calories: Light drinking thru morning 150 cal tops - a coffee with tons of milk (and very fresh coffee at my parent's house! - coffee they picked up on vaca from Hawaii!)!!!, also an ACV in seltzer with stevia on the way to them, then 3 sucking candies.

4:45pm snack: 100 cal Fiber One Snack - Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie 

 Dinner was sautéed veggies and nuts and a hair of tofu - 600 and then dessert 220. So around 800-850. Total today approx 2000. Ugh too high. But healthy.

2-day avg = 2075/day


All Sunday morning I was with my dad and grandma. I drove home to my parent's house around 9am. Then, my dad & I drove to go visit her. She's 95 and not alert very much and can no longer talk.  However, she was awake today and i kissed her and spoke to her a lot and touched her face and hands and sat with her. We were there around 2 hours visiting her (my dad and i).


12:45pm Lunch was huge with both parents around 850 cal at least. it was all pretty natural, a mexican place. just big portions and with chips, beans, corn which are high cal ingredients as well as an ample amount of seared tuna. It was all in a healthy salad, over romaine and hardly any dressing. nice.


I then did a couple errands myself after lunch after getting back to my parent's house & picking up my car there, not too much from 2pm-4pm (food shopping a small amount, put air in tires, and also did one more thing for me - went to 30 min electrolysis session for face hair around mouth and chin....yeah...treat to myself and bought as a groupon on sale).

I started up small couple loads of laundry around 4:30pm. Took a 10min walk just to get the blood flowing while clothes were drying & that was enough :-D  No need to overdo!


Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

Aside from being even less social than normal, which i'm enjoying, life has been treating me very well last year, this year, and into 2017. I'm a lucky gal, so lucky!

Wow. I thought FOR SURE my weight would appear up, but when i weighed myself after breakfast and the bathroom, I only weighed 115.2. Wow. Go me. I guess the hard work pays off - to keep track of my eating & calories. This is the first time i think that i've MAINTAINED a lower weight and not gained. I really do think it's the first time.  Most other times it my life, it was weight loss, fluctuating slightly, then not knowing what to do in order to lose it & freaking out and in turn gaining. But now it seems i know what to do...


ice cream last night, 120.

Woke up so nice and late today, around 8:45am.  Been sleeping like a baby the past few days. Feels so good.

Breakfast 9am - banana 120, oats 100, vegan protein powder mix 100, cocoa powder 30, peanut butter 100, cranberrry 60 - 510, chips 140. = 650.

11:45pm - turkey sausage jerky (yup). 160.

930, good. 70 - while running errands, driving to new gym (didn't join - no parking at all, too far, lots of traffic). also 2mi walk at park!!! :-)

afternoon meal 3:30pm: first lots of veggies / squash 200, then more roasted veggies 300, wrap 60, turkey 140. total - 800.

 5pm 100 cal bar and caffeine 1900...

after gym - 250 cal, light ice cream.

total today: 2150, fine :-)

plan is to stay home. relax. read. no laundry till later & gym in earlier afternoon, not late evening. also need to pick up a prescription after or before gym. nothing else (except also i could buy some veggies, since i'm running pretty low and veggies have been a major contributor in how i have kept this lower weight!) 


I know i wrote i was planning to stay home, but i may go out for a 20 min walk to the same park as i did yesterday. It's very close, just 10-15 min away which is why i may just opt to go there...oh...and i want to join a new gym (see how far it is driving...), just $10 a month.  I think i may do these things in a little while !  Reason i want to join the other gym is that it's close to the police academy that it's my goal to be part of in the summer. I want to get to know the area. As well, I want to have a change of scenery from my current gym.  So i will be a member of 2 places.  It's not the first time i have done this!

You did really well! I think it's all that muscle mass that keeps you burning more calories, even at rest.

I completely understand about joining the other gym. Go for it! Can't wait to hear/read about it!

LOL the gym i wanted to join ended up being in a busier area than i expected with a lot of traffic also and no parking at all...it's in the middle of a high-traffic community in Queens with tons of apartments and also shopping around. Def not the gym to join, especially with it being somewhat far - 6mi away compared with other gyms at 2-4 miles. Makes a big difference it seems, because of traffic and all. So for now, I'll stick with the gym I love - because i do. I'm glad people are there at my gym always, even Saturday nights. ...would have been nice to go somewhere else too, but it's not the right place - the Planet Fitness I visited. ..There's a cheap Blink Fitness by my work, but also, i don't think i need to go there either...but, maybe, in the dead of winter i'll go. we'll see! it would be good to go to the gym close to work instead of driving to the other one - but - really, it doesn't matter so much! :) so far now, one gym only!

Today my plans are very minimal which is nice.  While my hair is air drying after a shower, i'll read a little bit & then i'm going out to the park by me to walk - either 1 or 2 miles. then home to relax more i think. maybe i'll take out a movie from the RedBox by me.


Late Breakfast at noon - leftover protein pancake, tasted not that good, 250, light ice cream 250, chips 250: 750. good.

1:30 - apple cider vinegar in seltzer with stevia, followed shortly after by a Fiber 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie 100 cal and small amount of energy drink. really not doing much right now...relaxing.

3pm - beef jerky 100...

Park was 2mi. I was on my way to starting a third, but foot started to feel weak so i stopped in perfect timing. 2 miles was perfect and great. maybe another walk tomorrow, probably not. just doing it little by little right now :-D

early dinner around 650 cal.

total today: 1600 approx. good.

7-day average: 2,028 per day. GOOD.

probably didn't burn 2028 per day...probably more like an excess of approx 200 per day this week. 1400 cal excess...then again, i always feel i burn like 2200 on gym days...really. haha. who knows. anyways, i might need to do a little weightloss stuff these next couple weeks in order to keep my weight staying low....or, i'll just behave in the next weeks. go back to my usual ways.


Had a really nice thanksgiving with family. Glad I came back to my own apt and slept well over 12hrs.

I did take a pill before I went to bed around 9:30 and woke up around 11am. Today and tomorrow are laid back days and Sunday I will be busy and up early with family.


My goal is approx 1500 cal today so my weekly avg goes down a bit to around 2,000 per day.


My goal for next week (tomorrow/saturday thru friday) is a lower total around 1800day :-)

yeah, i am already feeling better thank you so much. lately, i've been sleeping like a baby every night since Wednesday :-D.

Sometimes i forget so thank you for reminding me - that i have had major changes in my life recently both at work and in friendships. I guess we start to feel it especially during these times of the year.
