2day average: 2050 per day, excellent.

Very tired so i may take a sleeping pill to fully knock me out soon - until the morning - bc it's been a long weekend and i really need some quality sleep right now.

Ricky took me on a test run of my new commute we also got breakfast and snacks along the way total time out 8am-11:30 am so it's good we did   it early.... Now doing a bit of laundry and relaxing and cleaning hamster cage !!!! Plan is to relax and bed early ! I will have a totally different commute tomorrow !

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 12/17/2017:
Did you order those from boxed? They can be trouble....LOL...

Horn_of_plenty on 12/17/2017:
a friend gave me them as a gift because last year we went to Texas for her bachelorette and on the flight we got those and loved them! She found them in the Target superstore and thought to give me them as a gift!

Horn_of_plenty on 12/17/2017:
yes, they are definite trouble...but in a portion of about the 4 or maybe 5 of the mini ones, they can be excellent before a workout...just not all the time LOL....yes, they are trouble ;)

Donkey on 12/17/2017:
I had to look up Stroopwaffles - those look yummy!

Good idea to try out the new commute. I hope that this works out for you! I myself would rather leave the driving to someone else, but the time consumption may be something you'll need to reconcile. I used to take the train with a guy who would watch the morning news on his laptop every morning!

Good luck tomorrow - I'll be thinking of you!

Horn_of_plenty on 12/17/2017:
Agree 100% with all and thank you for the well wishes, sorta low on energy now and will have to comment on everyone's entries a bit later this week....just wanna rest now, a bit anxious but also exhausted...and just want to rest before tomorrow. I now have to be out the door by 6:15am during the week, i may be able to go even a hair later, but for tomorrow i'll try to be out around actually 6:10-6:15am so i can be a hair early & not right on the dot at 7:30am is my new time.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/17/2017:
meaning i start work at 7:30am and work till 4pm which is far better to end that early than what i had before 8-5.

anyways, the commute will be a hair longer, but will go fast. thank you for all the positive thoughts.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/17/2017:
I'm glad you enjoyed my pics, this was my year of the "final hurrah" before getting into the NYPD academy....as I had originally planned ;)

but it's been fun and i plan to still enjoy life...but without the vacations.

HAPPY DAY OFF! This is the first time I've taken a day in not that long...only since my vacation to Vegas 2 months ago. I'm glad for it, as I woke up feeling slightly under the weather today...I feel better as i've been more productive today...and I feel better as I realize the fun that will be had tonight!

2am bc slept sorta poorly but got back to it thankfully: whole pint of raspberries and water 100

8am Breakfast: kombuha yum 70 / and oatmeal 150, peanut butter 150, cashew milk i think it is (been in my fridge and i use it every so often lol) 30, cocoa powder 30, snickers mini chocolates 100, pumpkin spice stevia that only tastes like cinnamon sadly and not many spices, 530-550 = excellent!

1pm tasty lunch: some leftovers i took from work lol...italian bread and small pieces i put some oil on it 200 tops, nice piece of grilled chicken 100-150 tops, popcorn 150, seaweed salad 100?, tea, 600, possibly less.

1250 so far today, excellent

5pm or so: early dinner out at bar with Leslie (i am starting to get over my mixed drink obsession and happy to go back to beer which is still less calories than mixed drinks even if it's a heavier beer!) mixed drinks = waste for me.

I did laundry :)

I went to a dr appt :)

I recycled bottles and cans :)

I had a nice breakfast & lunch :)

I am going to read :)

And lastly, I'm taking a trip into the city by subway to meet my friend Leslie when she finishes work - then we are heading to New Jersey to watch the Nutracker - but a Hip Hop version of Hip Hop Dance and Music! COOL! Then, we'll travel back home - about 2 HOURS...and she'll crash at my place until morning when i drive her locally home to her place! I'm so glad she could come, as Ricky said he did not want to go with me because he doesn't like long trips or sitting thru long performances. She said yes last minute, and for that I am grateful to have her as a friend that is accountable, fun, and very flexible when making plans!

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Healthy 2000 calories :)

2091 6day average

I'll take lunch at my desk, leaving at 4:30 today my last day at this office, heading to bank to open a CD tonight with some money my grandmother left to me, and bed.

At the gym, I realized last night that i simply don't have time to volunteer in the auxiliary police ... it'll be a distraction to the needed training i have to do in order to pass the court officer test physically. so, instead of spending my time volunteering, I am dedicated to seriously becoming a court officer.

The written entrance test starts again around 2020. They don't have a written test for court officers every year here in NYC. They tend to not need to fill many spots ever.  After I take the written test around 2020, if all goes right, I'd take a physical test around 2020-2022.

I have more than enough time to fully change my situation from good to best for the court officer physical test and i look forward to being in a different office starting Monday for a change. With same pay. I can do this..for many years i'm going to be OK.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 12/14/2017:
Sounds like a workable plan...and berries for us today too.....Have a great last day at that office!

horn_of_plenty on 12/14/2017:
lol, so you do have berries...haha, i just commented to you about you not having berries...! are yours frozen?

bearcountrygg on 12/14/2017:
They were frozen...but they are defrosted now....LOL

happy-1 on 12/14/2017:
Mmm frozen berries + cornstarch + microwave ='s pancake topping. Yum.

Augh I looked up the meat/cancer stuff you posted on Bear's diary.

"Limit how much processed meat and red meat you eat. This includes many of our favorites: bacon, sausage, ham, hot dogs, pepperoni, salami, pastrami, bologna, corned beef and deli/luncheon meats. The AICR says that eating 1.8 ounces of processed meat – the equivalent of a hot dog -- every day raises the risk of lower-stomach cancer by 18 percent."

I don't normally eat them but the grass fed hotdogs from trader joes made me crave hotdogs more... and I've been buying turkey sausage lately.

Weight: 112.0

2110 4-day average - my metabolism has improved so much this year!  I can eat more than probably I ever have to maintain my weight. But lately i may have to be careful...although i am quite pleased with how good my metablism is right now!

Home: decided to have kombucha even though i was sick last night at both ends so i was pretty much empty...i had the kombucha for the flavor and taste as well as to further clean myself out...it worked a little with whatever was left in me....sorry for TMI.

8:30am-9:30am Breakfast; 2 bananas an hour apart from each other approx (i will eat an extra banana today for the potassium esp after last night being sick), 120, coffee with eggnog flavor stevia (so good!) and milk 50, later a wrap 100 with honey 50 and cashew butter 200. total here is 520, good.

10am Snack: crackers 100

1pm Lunch: chicken 150-200, big salad small amount dressing 150, popcorn 100, wrap 100 most?? some spread 50?: 600 tops.

3:30pm Snack: blackberries, pint 100

5pm snack on way to gym: rice krispie treat 100

After gym: probably dunkin donuts again the egg white flatbread and i'll try to hold it to one munchkin 450 would be my total :)  banana, seaweed salad, wrap, veggie burger 400 and healthy!!!!!!!!! ok....AND CHIPS! 150 they were tasty :)

2200, decent, I worked out HARD!

Lunch will be nice...there are leftovers in fridge from a meeting, nice chicken wraps and also salad, so i'll have the leftovers from a work meeting in addition to more salad i bought the other day that is still good from the supermarket, a greek salad mix of cucumber and tomato with a little dressing.

I was sick last night and left work around 10 min early. Once again, on the drive home I had to pull over to throw up.  Then, I had diarrhea after walking 10 minutes to the meeting I was going to at 6pm. I couldn’t eat dinner,  my stomach couldn’t take it.  Once I walked the ten minutes home, I was once again in the bathroom with bad diarrhea.  I couldn’t eat anything bc my body still couldn’t take it.  Then, I went to bed around 8:30-9pm and slept till my alarm went off at 5:40 but I could have slept a LOT longer.  I am not sure whether it was the food or nerves. I think it was a mix of the two. The food was Spanish food and I had eaten a lot of a huge fish.  I do think that the fish had something to do with it bc it could have been low quality (bc the lunch was rather cheap for a huge order of fish with sides).

At lunch I need to buy bananas and peanuts (peanuts are to box up and have them delivered with all my stuff to my new location so that i do not have to bring things when i'm taking public transportation! I am also trying to have my desk heater brought to my new location so that i don't freeze my booty off there! It's a fancy type of trailor that i'll be workiing in - not an office building. but the trailer has a fridge and is pretty decked out i hear.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 12/13/2017:
Awww...hope you are feeling better today...sounds like food poisoning to me...plenty of fluids today to prevent dehydration.....maybe give that tummy a little rest today with some bland things too.

horn_of_plenty on 12/13/2017:
i've already eaten a lot, but on blander side lol....it was only short term thankfully!

lastly, i think i will not volunteer right away from auxiliary as planned - it's better i actually train physically on my own to actually past the test when the opportunity comes, and not waste my free time right now that i have in the fall, but rather keep training.

it's difficult enough for me to fit in the gym...so, knowing it's already an obstacle, i will not sign up for an obstacle which is volunteering in the academy....its tempting, but not a good idea. i cannot do too much and have problems as usual. less is more. i'll now be able to see my friends, etc.

i can always change my mind, but i need to focus, not create distractions.

now i can still get a guinea pig down the road...my mind is out there.

i think i need to slow down and not speed life up.

i used to be good and speed and doing too many things...and now is prob not time to do this to myself.

it's better i learn to cook better and use my time in more personal ways ... i think.

it's hard to judge anymore what is best.

but one thing is for sure - in the fall i should not volunteer, i need to FIRST concentrate on adding back in the cardio / fitness training that the court officer position requires. before anything else.

i am stressing myself and realize i need to take a step back right now, do less, bc less is more.

horn_of_plenty on 12/13/2017:
what i mean is - i've just had so much change lately in my life that i need to take some time to think about it - and think about the future - before i act. i think.

just a little confused, and i might as well get used to my new job office / commute now. i think it'll take a month to get used to taking public transportation as i have NEVER done it before, aside form like 1 month as a college student in summertime.

bearcountrygg on 12/13/2017:
It it was short term then that really sounds like food poisoning. You know yourself better than anyone...and if you are stressed...you definately need to do less.......this last subway terrorist situation just points out that there is danger everywhere....and having to run towards it rather than away from it is pretty scary to me and most likely your Dad.....believe me...having a child is like having your heart walk around outside your body...they will always be your baby...your Dad doesn't want to see you hurt or worse, and neither do I or any of your friends. It's a good time to take some time for yourself and settle in and get familiar with your new job and do some relaxing and get that guinnea pig and do some gourmet cooking and breathe......we know you are a good person....with a giving heart that loves to help friends. Where would we be here without all of your support???

horn_of_plenty on 12/13/2017:
thank you, BCGG.

from January thru end of the summer, i'll def be just getting used to the job, taking the class this winter that my dad wanted me to take, and just getting used to the work schedule. we'll see if my hamster lives that long from now thru September :) when september comes, i'll see how i feel - if i can handle anything else. maybe it's best at 35 to simply work, see friends, exercise. and not add in the volunteering. i can always change my mind later.

horn_of_plenty on 12/13/2017:
most of the volunteers in the auxiliary are wanting to be real nypd cops (not court officers) bc it gives them leverage and ability to choose where they want to work after they finish the academy for nypd.

bearcountrygg on 12/13/2017:
And you need to know that your Dad is proud of you just the way you are, he loves you and he wants the best for you.

horn_of_plenty on 12/13/2017:
thank you - i think i need to slow down and give myself time to get used to things...and to actually continue to improve my fitness without more obstacles.

we'll see how i feel after this union class...bc taking it is similar to the amount of training the auxiliary is...but the auxiliary is actually 1 hour more each week and for 4 months, rather than the union class which is less time and one less month...

sorry...it's just too much to even think about any more....so many rolling thoughts. time to just read. and relax.

my work load is once again lower. since tomorrow is my last day at this office bc friday i am off.

Maria7 on 12/13/2017:
Hope you are feeling better.

2075 4-day avg.

Happy Tuesday!

Home: kombucha 70

Breakfast: banana 120, wrap 100, honey 50, cashew butter 200, cinnamon, coffee 50: 520.

11am peanutes 150

Noon lunch: too big but all healthy. nice spanish rice and beans but too much 400 cal?, avocado and plaintains 150? with smallest salad ever, big piece of fish 250?? total here: 800-850. not the best.

2pm pint of blackberries (so head hungry, i guess stress) 150

4pm granola bar 100

total today 2000...had some salad and bread at the meeting, all my stomach could take.

Lunch: out to eat with coworker, i may buy some extras for the next 2 days here (not my good friend coworker, just a coworker that i assist everyday, sorta like my boss here but only gives me work and no **** at all thankfully!, a very nice man who's always wanted to go to lunch with me! LOL. so here we go...we have an hour, so we'll walk to a place approx 10-15 min away that i know is GOOD food.

I can just cancel my challenge to volunteer a year with the auxiliary...but i'd rather not. also, the 120 hours expected of us, is just cummulative. so some months can be more hours than others. I plan to use some of my vacation days / sick days for the volunteering in auxiliary - it will have to be done! we shall see what happens. of course my current job is priority, but, so is my enjoyment and life fulfillment. it's a challenge i want to do. i'd rather not skip out. my dad is not happy with this. he feels it's unsafe.

I am not 100% confident that i'll be able to manage volunteering for the NYPD auxiliary in the fall is my preference tho, my new location job with extra commuting, and improving my cardio fitness for a full year. However, although it is a LOT, i'm going to try it. It will mean seeing certain friends less and some for the same amount of time...i guess it will be OK....i'm going to try. this is a challenge for myself. I like challenges. why not!  It's just very time consuming - but i've really learned during the past 7 years at this current job - i have learned how to better manage time and place priorities on things and also how to say NO to friends / family. so i will probably be alright.

i also will use sick / vacation days to help me with the volunteering things. i am also taking a winter class 1x a week that lasts 10 weeks in the winter which i'll also balance by using some sick days during March when the class is ending and when we have no days off to help me continue my fitness level and staying strong. In spring and summer it's all about fitness.

Back to fall 2018 , it's fitness and the volunteering auxiliary cop training and work till Spring.

Then from spring 2018-spring 2019 i will complete a YEAR of volunteering, which is a ton, 10 hours per month for the auxiliary, and then i will stop the volunteering to fully once again concetnrate on just work and fitness - really no more time for much else!

I hope around the time of spring 2019 that there will be an entrance test for the NYS court officer exam - and then it'll be a 2-4 year wait till hiring process. I have high hopes. But i MUST keep increasing cardio during this time - and also building muscle by my current weight training of legs - i keep improving, so i have high expectations for success. I'll KEEP ON.

with success, it's about TIME. I can give and wait as time requires. I can do. I can have the rewards as long as i plan for it all...I AM. it's hard but possible.

I got to work on time, which seemed  not possible at first due to high traffic that then obviously improved along the drive!

I have a union meeting at 6pm after work till approx 7pm.

I hope to be able to drive home with enough time to actually park my car at my garage and then walk the 10 minutes to the meeting, instead of parking at where the meeting is. Then i'll be able to walk to and from the meeting, a mile total!, and also a little walk at lunch with coworker as we are going to eat to celebrate my last week at this office before switching to a new office (new for me, it's not a brand new office just new for me to go to) with totally new commute also where i'll no longer drive which will work out JUST FINE :) i'm ok with all of the change, so far!

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 12/12/2017:
It all sounds like a great plan HOP....you need to have goals to work towards....you can always adjust as needed. You are a hard worker and you love the challenge...GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!

horn_of_plenty on 12/12/2017:
I hope that i'm not being foolish looking to volunteer for something bc i think it will benefit me, although i'm not sure, and it doesn't benefit my current position / job.

It's a challenge, this is why i'm doing it.

innerpeace on 12/12/2017:
That is a great plan. I admire how you challenge yourself and succeed.

Your job location is just changing, is your actual job title or anything else changing?

horn_of_plenty on 12/12/2017:
I am nervous about the success part since last time i did NOT succeed...i failed to get into the NYPD..i can only try much harder and longer this time around - i have many years to get better.

horn_of_plenty on 12/12/2017:
thank you for the kind words. I'm nervous once again to do too much and reap nothing, although, i do think that volunteering as auxiliary is still a good idea - i think it will be good for me...although my dad doesn't like it. he thinks i am doing it only to wear the uniform and that it's unsafe.

horn_of_plenty on 12/13/2017:
no - my job title and pay is not changing. this is good - esp the pay part!

Time for an oil change this AM - i'll be out of my apt in 10 minutes by 10:15am!...i know the place is open Sundays, so trying to get there :-) Once my car is being done, i can go on my phone there, and google / type more here! I hope you enjoyed the ballet -- the Nutcracker is my favorite, not only dance-wise, but musically. Love the music!!!

Can I live vicariously through you and ask what kind of mixed drink you had? ;-)

2200 good.

Sorry due to my own lack of commenting right now on your entries, i'll get back to it, been sort of preoccupied at work these couple days.

Boss told me this morning that I am to stay at my current office location thru the end of next week, then i'm moving to the next location. This works out GREAT for the extension at current location till next week because I have a TON of errands after work next week - one is GREAT which is I am signing up for future classes for training to join the NYPD auxiliary police. The sign up is this December and I plan to start the training in the fall (this is volunteer, requires a TON of time after work - I want it on my resume - that's my primary purpose to do this - I have a goal to be a court officer, still, since the NYPD didn't work out due to my lack of physical strength.

I will keep training and exercising in hopes do one day wear the nyc court officer uniform around 2021-2023 (those years).  Until then, I'll wake up everyday thanking God i have a job which actually pays far better and almost towards what i'd get as a court officer nearing retirement. But it doesn't matter, I will become a court officer and don that uniform and love it.

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Sounds like a good plan!!!

horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2017:
I'll be catching up with you soon :)

I am so glad i don't change my workplace till after next week - next week i have a union meeting near me after work and the sign ups for the auxiliary police after work in addition to gym and other things.

it's good i'll have the same work schedule for the last week - so i can knock these two things out more easily next week, before changing my work schedule.

I hope that you will like commuting. There are things that you can do during the time you spend commuting, rather than having to focus on driving. It can be a very Zen experience. Plus it's great for people-watching if that's your thing :-)

Very interesting new goal... Love courtroom drama! (Working for an attorney, though, I'm always stuck in the office.)

horn_of_plenty on 12/11/2017:
Not sure of Zen as i'll have to be alert...but it will be good for people watching, which i DO enjoy a lot!

And yes, the court officer goal is good...i like to do tasks - i'm task oriented with that kind of responsibility rather than the type that is responsible to decipher and figure things out, i'd rather be assigned to do tasks. which is more the PO / court officer type of job. that is what i like. there's room to move up or even if i stay at that salary it is OK.
