3/11 Fri - Walk after work.  :-)

OSHA 10 min in morning; then went onto other work...def leaving on time today; maybe do 20 min bike back at home (or walk near home);

later in evening after dinner will be OSHA more at home.  slacked on Osha all week. would be better to try to fit it into workday more....use the 15-20 min boss said i could use...like after lunch, do 10 min more today here at work...

Breakfast: 450..

Snacks: pb 50, 150; 

Lunch: rice with some seasoning 150?, mix of potatoes and other veg 200 max, some chicken from a meal that i took some from boss that i bought him as he requested it months ago ;) 200 max...550 max

Dinner: may do a takeout poke bowl (just enjoying takeout lately; treating myself really well), cauli rice option!!! 100, crab salad 150, salmon 150, sauce 150, 2 lg sugar free cookies 200...

....and save my leftovers for Saturday...will mostly stay home due to very foul weather tomorrow!...been craving TONS of veggies all week...and having them at dinner....just tons...:)

 maybe take home work laptop, but not sure, to do the work item that is still incomplete here.

Noticed everything is more expensive when I did yesterday’s Walmart pickup list for Friday. Sacks of dog & cat kibble & wild birdseed & most other things up a good 10%

At last the stock market was way up too after a few terrible weeks!

Yes, I worked with weights last night :-) I hope you did too! I had no set plan, just did exercises that I like to do, mainly focusing on upper body, but I also did some legs. I felt it in my arms afterwards, but didn't feel anything this morning.

Anyway, it did help to know you were doing weights too. Thank you.

i get to work at 7 and do not start my work on time at 7...i fill my water, make coffee, eat, and slowly get into work...

i decided that it's not worth eating at home; as i will feel hungry once getting to work; so i eat once at work.

i also snack in the morning at work after breakfast bc it's many hours until noon.

i did do weights too; was a good workout :)

i have been doing my legs much more regularly (basically whenever i do upper body) and i have noticed good, positive changes in my glutes.!!! i used to never do legs 3x a week; and now that i do (this year!), i am getting results!

glad to be doing weights remotely! with you!

Snack: one small cookie 50, half Clif white choc bar 100

 Lunch: rest of a chopped salad, olive oil and spices, 150, sausage 200, rice 200, clementine 50. 600, coffee chew. 50.

 

5:15-6pm Early Dinner before weights: tons of light on the oil sauteed garlic broccoli 100, 2x whole wheat tostitos love the taste 300, garlic knot 200. 600. was thinking to have a yogurt instead of chips, but wasn't in the mood for it really.

when i cannot sleep, it's not often, i see your point...i usually will reach carbs indeed - banana or whatnot.

but past two nights not sleeping is bc not going to bed at a decent hour, starting with sunday night getting home late after going out to dinner!

last night was good; bed around 8p.

I wanted to comment on comments/replies to Sunday's outing. Understanding the circumstances and particulars more clearly now, I completely agree that a 2-hour limit with friend L may be in your very best interest. My original intent was to explore other options or other ways of viewing the situation. However, now I understand. Oh my that would have tested my limits too.

 3/8 Tues - Walked 20 min before work bc hardly traffic on the drive and i left earlier this AM! woohoo.

Weights tonight :)..will try for an efficient workout bc haven't had enough sleep yet this week..will do weights tomorrow instead, too tired all day.

Breakfast: half large banana 100, pb choc cake and coffee 300. 400.

9a Snacks: pb small 50,

Lunch: sausage 200, rice 250, veg salad wtih olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper 150-200. 600-650.

Dinner: maybe another soup for ease of fullness/get into workout..splurged and ordered takeout ahead of time once i realized i had changed my mind and wasn't working out. a huge load of sauteed garlic broccoli amazing and huge 200, 2 very soft and fresh garlic knots 400, a peach cottage cheese fruit on bottom 100. it all hit the spot. now gonna relax with OSHA.

walked in AM and also a little around my neighborhood like 15-20 min after work. so a good day, overall.just  need some better sleep tonight.

Cramps...feel like my very low abdomen is experiencing high turbulance! ugh!

One more day to your one-day vacation! I am off on Friday this week, so my countdown is on :) I get every third Friday off, which is so, SO nice. By that point, I need an extra day of rest, and get to sleep in a bit!

 Got my $89 state tax return ;).  Now all returns in my account.

I def want to get home and go to bed early as i stayed out late with her last night; getting home around 9pm. it was a bit too late; she kept ordering drinks (she likes to drink) and i wasn't about to leave her there. but next time, i may tell her i need to leave at a specific time...i was at the restaurant with her for 3 hours - 5:30-8:30, little much for a Sunday night.

Breakfast: 1 chocolate from a coworker sorta early but yeah 50, banana and coffee 150, pce choc cake with pb on top light layer 250. 400...

Snacks: pb 100, reeces 100.

Lunch: chopped salad with olive oil 150, salt/pepper/garlic, half sausage 200, white rice to eat with it all. 250...600...

1:30p Snacks: new chew with caffeine, coffee flabor really good 50

3:15pm few pretzels 50

Dinner: soup? thicker creamy chicken soup with dumplings 450? 2 clementines shared with gp's 50....much later had chocolate 150. also gummies.

1950 - 2000 good.

Finish and mail my passport application tonight....will may  in a more orderly way. need to weigh it,etc. shipping my old passport book back.

I didn't do anything after meeting her for dinner as it was far later than i ever expected to come home. will have to really put up boundaries next time - like 2 hours dinner not 3. 

still in bed late tonight, bit it was productive. and i did a little OSHA too, both after work and back at home after work.

4:30pm - Dermatologist appt - for an underarm sweating treatment i opt to get every so often - and then i use natural, lighter deoderant as well and shirts stay fresher; all around i love this treatment.  Copay like $80; worth it to me anyday, i try to limit the times i do it each year; prefering to do it around summer when you sweat more; it can show more.  Also see about two small moles that annoy me for removal - may need another appt scheduled.

Your outing sounds like a lot of fun! Actually both of them sounded like fun. Setting time boundaries would be helpful, but also perhaps adjusting your parameters. That is to say, next time, you may be better prepared for a 3-hour outing with friend L. So some options could be to meet earlier or on a different day, where you can rest more the next day. Just ideas to remain flexible. After all, you have to do what's best for you.

i will say i like your comment, but i will not adjust for 3 again most probably for a long time...she's basically an alcoholic and it's not fun to sit the last hour while she chats with everyone/the bartender. it's too much for me to deal with. also, she does get slightly annoying/angry in what she says after she drinks a bit...but think of it - how often do you go out to eat at a restaurant for 3 hours? it's just too much.

being there that last hour is uncomfortable socially for me...but better, like you say, if i didn't have to wake up the next day....

so perhaps i can be flexbile; but also depending on what's going on the next day.

but i can't say 3hr dinners will become the norm with her.

i was very unprepared for the experience. she ordered 4 mixed drinks at least, and a shot, over the course of the night...then, when we could have left, she ordered the extra drink, making me wait at least 45 min more. not cool!

3/6 Sunday - still much more energized in getting up than past weekends! :) maybe it's the sun coming thru the windows, i am not sure. but it certainly feels good to have gotten out of bed around 8am!

8:30a breakfast: 2 sqare pieces out of a 12 piece sliced up square cake i made - chocolate mayo cake. very good. i actually overcooked some/undercooked other, but i like the undercooked better bc it's very moist and creamy like fudge. the choc cake tastes good and i wouldn't change a thing, other than using a larger tin so it would cook more evenly / more surface area to cook faster as well. but the chocolate cake was good, recipe good. happy!  225 per piece after i did the math...450 for 2 slices that are pretty smallish. tasty though. and a coffee 50.  WILL BRING IN SLICED UP CAKE TO COWORKERS...bc i don't want to eat them all week as it's good, but not so nutritious, plus i love to share.  ...

10am Snack: 1 lg cookie, 1 small amount pb. 150

Noon Lunch: leftover salad negl not much from yesterday, along with tiny amount mac/cheese 50 and leftover pulled pork 200, pretzels 150 honey mustard and 2 large clementines 100...500

Snacks: some kombucha, gummies 150...lazy day, on couch, doing OSHA and falling asleep intermittantly.~

4pm choc while working out, wanted the sweetness/energy

5:30pm Dinner, out, at restaurant TBD - it's my 2nd time eating at a restaurant since Covid started - first time was with cousin a few weeks ago. (had to do takeout yesterday as the VAX Requirement ( i said mask earlier by accident) to eat in restaurant is still up this weekend; and C (bc she is so stuck in her ways) is not vaccinated....so we had to eat in my car.).

 after dinner: get bananas on way home; also fruit if anything on sale.

 

All laundry was done yesterday along with lots of cleaning. i had thought friend C was coming over, but i just met her down on street level and we went to eat right away...which is totally fine! i am still left with a clean apt!

Today I will fill out the passport application that i pre-filled out some - typed it in at work, the rest will be hand-written.  I'll affix my passport photo; and put in the mailbox today/tonight for sure!!!!

Weights/Strength afternoon...in progress, almost done.

 Before dinner, did around 2hrs of OSHA today on and off...then got really sick of it....now showering, then weights, then dinner....

Sautee veggies...holding off until Monday eve probably; I have a chopped salad for my lunch/dinner on Monday.

Broil sausage - DONE!

Use leftover takeout rice in work meals this coming week...

good question. neither way you suggest!

i used directions from an online friend who VERY into cooking and baking. i think she is 10yrs older than you or so and lots of tried and true recipes.

she actually had a recipe that i followed for using boxed cake mix. it included both mayo (1/2 cup and 1/8 cup of it) as well as 2 eggs, 3/4 cup water...i think this was it. so still i added two eggs. so i guess, in a way, it's just an addition of eggs and mayo. i think it may have been good with one less egg though, to make it a thicker consistency....i may try this next time, with one egg instead of 2 and the mayo...so it's not as fluffy...

i was reading and it seems this was also the cheaper way to make a cake...instead of using separate eggs/oil....something to consider now when eggs and cooking oil supermarket prices are up, but mayo is a cheaper option!

Up earlier, my own body just feeling more refreshed this weekend. Maybe bc the run has been rising earlier, i am not sure. but it's a good thing.

7:30a breakfast: 1 hamantashen cookie as it's called, sugar free jelly in it, 100, shake:huge banana 200, pb 100, coco milk/coffee 50. some of the shake is leftover for later..

10:45 MEAL:choc/gummy vits 100.; honey mustard pretzels 200, piece of leftover chicken100, negl cal seaweed snacks, hot tea. microwavabe birds eye seasoned broccoli really good! 200 if i  eat it all.

FELL ASLEEP ON COUCH WHILE DOING OSHA FOR AWHILE, MAYBE 12:30-2PM?

2p snacks: i found a tiny package of espresso choc covered beans 150 lol.

6p ? Dinner with friend C at an inexpensive Mexican place very similar to Chipotle, will make sure to order many veggies...

OSHA (which is also pretty darn relaxing - just have to listen to the course read to you - i sometimes close my eyes...and take a quiz at the end of each segment (every half hour or so)...did 1.5hrs approx today.

it's not passover holiday at all, but with all holidays, like Valentines, etc, food comes out early in the stores as people like cookies...and do not need to wait till the holiday to eat them ;)...they aren't usually in the stores year round, just seeing them now.

3/4 Fri - Missing Donkey, heart is going out to you!

OSHA - after after work / end of day; then walking at park by work :)  & Get gas after work...had too much work at work for OSHA too,

...so will do OSHA tonight at home...as i'm relaxed and it's still not even 7pm after dinner and I am surprisingly very energized tonight!

Breakfast: 2 small pieces croissant with brocc filling, 200, from coworker; banana and coffee 150.

9:15 wrap last one of cassava 200, cream cheese and tiny piece of lox 100. 300.

11:30 - healthier choice - a little shakey as mostly eating carbs, so decided to throw in a spoon of pb before lunch - pb 100

Lunch: leftover broth from yesterday's soup 100 with some veggies etc, piece tofu 100, sweet potato not large 200 tops, tomatoes 50,500peach smallish 50. 

3 & 4pm Snacks: ? maybe a choc? 50.and chia bar bc i worked some OT half hour, then went walking and wanted some energy 100.

DID AN HOUR WALK AT THE PARK :) although chilly,the sun made it so nice.

6:15pm Dinner: I have leftovers at home...spinach little bit with some leftover sauce 100, wanton soup 250, strawberries large amount 100, 450...

7:45 dessert of cookies 150. craving that; wasn't just satisfied by dinner :) had the room for them.

Also cleaned one of the gp cages / washed the fleeces, the one that hadn't been done in 3 weeks!...it's the one that i mostly have one pig in; not two, so it doesn't get as dirty.

haha - my closest neighbor doesn't envy...she was mostly a stay at home mom after she got married and is a GREAT cook. she can cook many enthicity foods; is puerto rican i think by birth; she's like 60 so lots of experience in the kitchen....that apt always smells out of this world ...and she home cooks most dinners for her hubby who still works and has a very high position in a related field to mine...so her "job" is to do most of the housework/cooking/cleaning - he does not have to - unless she is staying in their other home (which she sometimes does) in puerto rico. then her hubby has to manage on his own at the apt and do his own laundry, etc lol.

but i'm sure the other side of the floor neighbors are envious ;)

Bake a choc mayo cake...

Sautee veggies

Broil sausages

Use leftover takeout rice in work meals this coming week

10a-11:30a - Discovery Hike, Cunningham Park, Union Tnpk & 196th Street - may be kids at this one bc event says best for kids; but its a hike near "vernal pools & wetlands" where a lot of creatures make their habitats...close-by my apt, too.

4:30pm - Dermatologist appt - for an underarm sweating treatment i opt to get every so often - and then i use natural, lighter deoderant as well and shirts stay fresher; all around i love this treatment.  Copay like $80; worth it to me anyday, i try to limit the times i do it each year; prefering to do it around summer when you sweat more; it can show more.  Also see about two small moles that annoy me for removal - may need another appt scheduled.

HoP, are you familiar with the Shele Colvin homicide? ~2012 in Manhattan but not tried until ~2019. Just finished a terrific true crime book on it: At Any Cost. I knew about the case already from Dateline.

Man married woman 11 years older solely for her wealth. They were “Modern Orthodox Jews” and family placed high value on women getting married & having kids. She had a successful career as a money manager, a multimillionaire. He was basically a bum who played backgammon all over the country and chased women.

He choked her and staged an accidental bath drowning to get at the money which she’d left to their 2 kids after the divorce.

Said these orthodox Jewish people are opposed to autopsies & sued NYC in 1983 when they autopsied a man who fell off a roof. They got 1.3 million, so NYC forbids it without family permission or a special judicial order. The family quickly buried her, but as evidence emerged, the DA had her exhumed & found incontrovertible evidence of homicide. Very interesting case, husband totally evil.

Book mentions Jdate a lot. After the divorce, the victim met a very nice man there.

Not sure how they fared. Despite rampant abuse the girl, then 22, sent a letter in support of the father to the court which was read at sentencing. Father was shockingly brutal and greedy. He went to live with his parents & the kids after the murder. He often became enraged & beat up on the parents & kids. They had him removed. He hatched a hideous plot for the girl to mutilate herself & claim his father raped her, so he could get custody & control the money. She didn’t get the opportunity to pull it off. Then he wanted to marry her at age 14 to some Mexican who would be paid 10K so she would become emancipated and he’d get the money. He was finally arrested.

Received a despoit of my federal tax return to my account today! YAY! now just waiting for the small state return... :) feels good to see your savings account grow overnight :)

Breakfast: banana and coffee 150; wrap 200, lox and cc 100. 450..

9am snacks: macaroons, 100...decaf coffee also negl; maybe extra snacks: 

11am pb 100, one more macaroon (brought them to work to share, so i've had plenty now..have other goodies at home that i may try tomorrow/tonight - sugar free jelly filled cookies! couldn't believe they were at the supermarket!). 50.

Lunch: leftovers bean/escarole awesome soup homemade from coworker's wife!; leftover microwave meal 300 - maybe just have pretzels150/clementine 50on the side ...and then may save the soup for tomorrow....

Dinner: have good food at home; may make sure to have it - some chicken / maybe sauteed spinach with it. maybe chicken in wrap or side of chips/crackers...need some healthy food.chicken good amount 300, zucchini 200, chips 150

TONIGHT OR TOMORROW re-cook the zucchini takeout from last night that was undercooked (i don't like the taste of raw zucchini)

It’s just the principle. I pay a lot & they shouldn’t make it so difficult. Use 1040, the capital gains & losses (stocks) & interest & dividends forms & another stock related form. Think it’s called K partnership
