5day average:EXCELLENT at 2040 per day.


During lunch - it will include nice reading outside on the steps of a church by work where there is shade! as it's close to 90F today but the shade will be comfortable on the steps of the church.  It's a few short blocks from work, perfect place to go and sit...I'm not the only one and sometimes there's company by me. Not too many folks, but decent and it's nice over there on a busy road but not loud and traffic going by...it's relaxing to be outside in that location during lunch!


Jogging at Queens College today on their track after work - I'm changing in the work bathroom so that i do NOT have to stop home or anywhere before driving DIRECT to the park. SAVES TIME & is MORE CONVENIENT. And decreases my appetite from actually being in my apt full of temptations when i already have good snacks with me & do NOT need anymore before the jog :) better to change at work (after work) but here in the bathroom and leave for the track straight away! :-P

did a 2 mi walk / jog....first half was tons of jogging, 2mi was really, really sucky. mostly walking.

You know, my old boss is muscle bound and all he does is bodyweight and resistance exercises. Maybe you should try that to build muscle at home?

yes that's what i prefer to do....but i have an important goal of becoming a better jogger this summer so there's no more time left to better myself on weights now..i'll prob go back to them more around November.

6:30am: kombucha and sparkling probiotic 60

Breakfast: bananana 120, coffee 80, wrap 80 with pb and sf jelly 160: 440

lunch: white potato with curry baked 200?, half turkey burger and half chicken sausage 150, over a cup sauteed bean sprouts 100-150, over a cup of red slaw salad with a light dressing 100. total here: 600, healthy.

during work now - 30 more for little candies.

5pm snack before gym: few of my coworkers nice biscotti 120 and sf drink to fill stomach and energy levels! but no caffine.!!!

1250 healthy and good before gym.

total today is great...1600!


lately it's easier to play with my hamster. he enjoys walking from hand to hand quickly...not only running on floor and me catching him lol before he finds his way under the fridge or couch which would be a little disaster trying to get him back! :-) he also has a ball to run in when i get tired of playing and he's still wide awake i put him in the ball before placing him back in the cage! :) extra time outside cage is good for my GB Boy!

I now clean the cage with a mix of white distilled vinegar and water (which is chemical free and best for my hamster)! not even any more baby wipes...i can use them on me...after the gym or something!


1650 today :)

i live in one of the 5 boroughs of NYC....but not Manhattan...it's called Queens and some parts of queens are only like 5-10 min from the city...I'm approx 30min with not much traffic. I do live in an apt and one of the tallest in my particular area of queens...it's 23 floors. In Manhattan of course that would be considered not too large but most of the area surrounding my neighborhood in Queens is lower apts up to 6 floors only and homes. So i have a nice view and can see the whole city skyline...i'm on the 9th floor!

Are you going to build him a hamster city? You could probably do it DIY with some gorilla tape and plastic water bottles... a couple of clear plastic boxes for little rooms... Make it run around your entire apartment.

Yes my cage is already a DIY...and maybe when i have some free time in a year i'd expand it...but for now i like it how it is....lol....it does enjoy walking / jogging around the apt in it's ball and also walking on my hands :)

You live in my dream city.....the views must be amazing. You have so many things available to you there. We were in the world trade center taking pictures a couple of years before the attack............we have pictures that we will treasure forever and souvenir shirts that we are keeping for grandkids

those are really special memories you have from the trade center...i wanted to go see the new structures down there (btw, my dad used to be in charge of all the union electrical work going on in that area after 9/11 but now has a different position!...he was there all the time when the most contsruciton was happening after 9/11!)...

but it's so expensive for the tours i keep putting it off and also putting it off bc my friends are never available lately...their on vacation like half the summer! LOL.

it's a beautiful city, that never sleeps.

I went to Texas with my friends, San Antonio, in October, and we couldn't believe that at 6pm like nobody was left in the city business areas...they all went home for dinner! NYC is not like that!

I haven't been to Queens, we have been to Manhattan and LOVED IT!!!! If I could just up and move it would be to NYC....oddly enough we live in a place that is actually just the opposite, surrounded with federal and state forests in the middle of an amish community....nearest Walmart is 55 minutes away....we have occasional bears in our yard, that's why my name is Bear country GG...gg is for great Grandma.

yes...it was....but it was the dark seaweed...not the sugary green type from typical restaurants...it was i think wakame salad and more on the savory side than salty...so it worked a bit better. yes, still weird....i was so eager to eat something with protein...and i had just bought the seaweed salad...haha

this seaweed salad had some scallians, green pepper and also cucumber in it. like i was saying, not the sweet type. and more chewy and smaller pieces. it's black in color.

9:45am Big breafast: wheat bran 160 made with almond milk 40, with the rest of my dried goldenberries 50, big banana 150, stevia, peanut butter also 200 and a kombucha / kevita sparkling drink: 650, good. 

snack: fruit and a wrap made out of coconut 100

1pm lunch: chicken sausage precooked that i broiled in oven 170, on wrap 70, chips 240, 480, followed later by a cookie 120. 600 total. good!

5pm: batural bar after jog 200


jogging in afternoon...did all laundry, cooked eggs, chicken sausage and turkey burgers for the week also in morning thru 2pm.


I think i'm going to go jogging in AM late morning - and then come back here and do laundry, then go jogging, and then relax before going out again tonight with a friend to a nearby dance show at a college around 30 min away with no traffic and up to an hour away with traffic....he's driving which is cool! I used to offer until he told me he likes to be the driver only!! so i don't mind being passenger...saves me gas too!

and then laundry this afternoon along with cooking some turkey burgers and also maybe some more eggs....that's really it. lately i don't cook any veggies and i buy them all prepared. It's fine. 


After playing with my hammy GB, i took a sleeping pill last night and i slept in nice and late today which is what i wanted and needed after skimping on it all week. 

I wont be taking any more pills this weekend as I got what i wanted - to sleep in today and do not need to do it again (i take them time to time but don't like to feel like i'm getting addicted!)

1:30pm Lunch at work: last of my turkey burgers 150 (glad i cooked these on Saturday!) veggies 100 tops, and some cheeze ritz crackers and i bought a big side salad of a tomato / olive / onion salad large size with dressing. big lunch.

 1500 after good eats all day at work! excellent :) it's a bit high calories already but doesn't matter as i've had good weekly average up until now so today won't undo much!

snack: apple 100


Dinner will be popcorn 160,  egg/eggwhite 100, sauteed broccoli and mushrooms 250, kiwi 50, ice cream 70:  650 tops

2250, goooood!

playing with my baby boy hamster :) he's gettng big! he's around 11 weeks now - almost 3 months.  Not sure fully of dinner...just want to get home...very tired again.

Home: kombucha but i didn't really require it and it didn't work...i didn't eat much volume yesterday so i don't think i even needed a #2....sorry for the info! so i didn't even after a full bottle of kombucha. 60.

no morning snacks - not in a hungry mood this week. appetite is actually sorta suppressed i don't know why.

lunch: chips 100, very few veggies bc my stomach doesn't want them (Time of Month) 50, bigger turkey burger 200 350 small lunch.

snack before gym: 120

Total today is 1600

1850 6-day average! Going to be a nice average for this week! yay! needed lower totals.


Plan is for the gym tonight.  This week I skipped a jogging session, it's ok. I preferred my usual gym routines over an extra jog.  But the rest of the month it is my priority - jog 2x a week. I'll let it go this week due to funeral stuff - good enough excuse.


Last night, I went early to bed it wasn't even 7pm by the time i hit the covers.  I was exhausted from a lack of sleep every night since Saturday night.  I was able to recooperate a bit by going to bed early Wednesday into Thursday and Thursday now i can go to gym...not in a jogging mood plus it's extermely humid so the gym will be better after work. I'm only jogging 1x this week instead of 2 due to planning problems and being exhausted yesterday bc of funeral engagements with family earlier this week. 


I didn't even play with my hamster last night.....needed sleep and no more time but sleeping time after I ate!

yes, my hamster is the tamest type - a Syrian "Teddy Bear" long haired hamster. He does not hardly bite at all...once or twice at the beginning he took a light nibble but that has stopped. He doesn't seem to want to mess with me :-) Very well behaved and easy to pick him up.

Hey there...I signed in after reading your July 6th post...Sorry about your Grandma. My Grandma passed at 96 also. Thank you for sharing with all of us about your Grandma's passing. Sometimes prolonging the inevitable may not be the best, most humane answer as your post showed. I loved your message that you read at her funeral. It was so loving and such a wonderful message of how you felt about her growing up and even to now, too and it shows the effect she had on your life as well as others. I know she was a very wonderful person. My GM was, also. Glad you are taking good care of you, HOP. Sometimes we think we have to take care of everybody else except ourselves and put ourselves last if at all, ha. Have a good evening. :-)

And yes, now is not a good time for me for putting myself last as it’s coming close to the time that I need to have my own personal training and health as good as it can be before I go and change jobs for the definitely last time in my life. I have no more time to waste for work (I used to waste all my personal time by working overtime and then skimp on sleep to go and exercise which isn’t a good lifestyle to have in the long run and is detrimental and caused multiple injuries as well as emotional breakdowns) – so I know my limits slightly better and know I cannot keep skimping on my training for jogging and passion also of weightlifting when I already do them each only 2x per week for each activity and it’s really already minimal…..so I’m content with the decisions that I made.

I got home Monday night at 11pm....so late!!!! (the shiva / visiting hours end at 9pm so i had NO IDEA people would stay so late last night and i of course stayed as it's my own dad's mother who passed away duh!) and I went to bed like midnight or so and woke before 6am to get ready for work.  

I hope to catch up on sleep tonight & will probably leave my parents earlier  than i did last night. It's too much right now with work everyday - very tiring to have to wake up early and go to bed late every night including Sunday night....Tuesday i'll go EARLY from work straight to my parents by around 2pm i'll get there...stay till around 8pm i think or maybe even earlier like 7:30 because it's way too tiring to keep going to bed so late it's exhasting with work!)

and then it becomes very hard to exercise after work when tired....and gets you run down. i do not need to get sick or very run down right now.

I am in the height of my training for jogging. No more time to waste.

Summer is the last stretch....where i am learning to jog completely by end of summer (without needing to constantly walk inbetween the jog).

Having a tired day, now 12:40pm at work, will prob have energy drink before gym today....probably. bc i am tired and i'll drink it on way home / gym to change into gym clothes (should have brought them to work in my car but i forgot!).


I am leaving work early to exercise at gym (bc i am not going to go to work and only see my parents tonight at the shiva...i WILL TAKE CARE OF MY OWN PERSONAL BUSINESS and that means taking care of myself and not skipping out on my workouts that i already have decreased to only two gym sessions a week instead of my 3 because it was too stressful and not enjoyable for me now that i've added in 2x per week running).

With the academy so close and my goal to be jogging steadily by end of summer, i have lots of work to do. 

The GYM for me with weightlifting is fun. But i don't want to lose all my strength. I try to make the only 2x per week sessions - and that is why i'm telling my boss i have to leave early at 2pm (instead of 5pm) bc of family shiva (how we observe it at home at specified hours) but keeping to myself that i'll be exercising FIRST and then coming home to shower and drive ot my parents.

I am an adult and boss of my life.  I will do what i need to do so that i don't "F" up my life anymore than it already is in terms of my salary / current employment and line of work :-)

I am usually an honest person - and that is why i do not regret this choice in the least and feel my grandma would even support it. I even told my dad my plan that i'm leaving early, DOING WHAT I HAVE TO DO (that's what i said to my dad) and then later driving to him tonight.

I'm happy.

yes...i don't regret it in the least bc if i didn't go to the gym either Monday or Tuesday there's a huge chance i'd have to skip one of the two sessions....and there's just no more time in my life to put my important activities to me on hold. Especially now.

thank you for the support. Today i'll leave early, but to go home to my parents like i could have yesterday (but felt it was more important to go to gym because my dad knows he has my support and i was with my grandma so often while she was alive - my dad understands completely!!) i am lucky.
