a little bit tired today after a lot of running around since Monday. Today's a night off any errands (besides food!) and off from gym also.

Really happy to go home tonight, I do as I please.

On another note, I want to start dating a little bit. But it has to be a guy who also wants some freedom. I don't want a guy all over me and never needing time alone...! ugh.

and i'm stopping weighing myself more than 1x a week like I used to. bc today i'm up a lb from yesterday. I prefer to just weigh in Saturdays like I was doing previously.

1250 before dinner.

feeling low energy today.

at most, dinner was 850. hoping for less though. gonna say 800 because i'm being nice to myself right now.

2050 today, good.

no exercise, but did go out for 5 min during work :)

I think dating is a leap of faith even at my age there are still some very good men out there and I have been very fortunate to have met a few but on the other hand it seems I always get in sickness and health vows.... after being widowed twice I am hoping to leave this one above ground. In the long run it has all been very good because it is hard to rate love and happiness for how ever long it is for. Life is short and the road of being two is far less lonely and brings a lot of joy.

Should be a good day, have a couple errands after work followed by a union meeting that starts near my apt. at 6pm and ends before 7pm. good. i'll eat afterwards.
weight back down today. (debloating after the most annoying PMS...cramps before getting it (not too painful, but there...and then minor but annoying back and leg pain during...sorry OR)
6am: kombucha strong! 60
9:30am: large banana 160, chocolate muffin! 220 wow!!! From “Jacked” must order more of these microwave treats! Wow!

somebody brought some cake and I actually ate some at lunch.

no worries, calories still in check even though not as low as it could have been:

dinner was too late (around 7:45pm) and hopefully not more than around 450, most.

total today: 1850, didn't need the cake. wasn't even great.

exercise: turns out I walked 1 mile (1/2 mile to & from the meeting!)

8:30am: quest bar cookie dough and coffee with equal 190

11am: medium banana 120 and partial of the newest and tasty "GLO" bars - flavor was peanut butter dark chocolate sea salt!!!!! gave a piece to my boss. YUM! 150 for me.

total so far: 520, excellent, appetite is small today! I feel tired bc I was up a lot during night. but I also feel quite happy & positive.

1650 after gym maybe also some lite ice cream .

yes, around 1700 cals.


I am so tired.

I did visit the guy and it went nicely, definitely nicely.

then the gym.

He may call me after work tonight.

coach, I wish I could be internally motivated like you. I know that sometimes it takes an outside force to trigger an inside reaction - but I think I have gotten to where I say "I'll do what I want" Kind of a rebel of sorts. Even though I know what is good for me, I don't do it. But if I have a day where I'm busy or see something that triggers me to watch my intake - I always feel good about that, but it doesn't stay.

I will say my 2-day weekend avg is 1900 per day so far.  That's good for a holiday weekend. I'll be making a dent in good progress this week as I am in gear for summer now and thinking positively about myself.

Everything is possible. I'll take one day at a time.


8am kombucha 50, later coffee 50 Did the right thing and went to visit my grandma at the nursing home with my dad this morning. We got back around noon.

12:30pm Too hungry to eat s lot so I had fast carbs of Belvita blueberry crackers 230. 330

today and gonna work to keep cals low. On a roll! Last night I doubt was more than 2200. Doing good!

1:30pm Banana 120 450...

On ride home from parent's house at 2pm: energy drink, no cals

3:30pm meal : cooked squash, dab of sauce 100, popcorn 150, yogurt 100, 350.

800 :)

5:45pm very filling & mostly healthy dinner: protein was 1/2 package of bacon jerky, then some squash, followed by cabbage with okra masala and some leftover saag as well. was very good. tons of water as it seems it was all very salty (specially the jerky) but good. around 650.

1450 approx. excellent. no exercise.

tomorrow is luckily the gym for which I am excited for. This week is back to business.

Tuesday I've got a meeting after work.

Wednesday I am taking as a REST day.

Thursday gym.

Friday rest day.

Saturday I may get together with my friend Christine, though it's def pending as I don't even know if she's free.

Sunday will be gym.

and that's my week!

I really do have basically enough food to get thru this week. fruit is low though. but I actually do have enough, of everything, to make it thru. I can try not to have to go food shopping...gonna think about this. I really do have enough. might as well save my money.

I did want to visit a friend after work tomorrow and before the gym. but if the friend declines my offer, i'll just be going to the gym. hmmm, we shall see what happens!..

Mornin', HP. I do the same thing with buying just enough food to get me through the week. My store has ran out of BlueBerries and now I'm buying the dried kind. They're like little raisins. :/

I also do enough groceries for a short period of time because I do only fresh vegetable and pick up meat every two or three days. Have a great week.

Early 8am breakfast : okra Bhindhi masala and kombucha and seltzer 350 After a quick rinse in the shower I am going to the gym soon for a nice workout :)

Before gym: big banana 150 & small protein bar 130: around 300.

After gym: higher sugar Cliff Bar 250

Total so far today: 900, good.

Passover Dinner tonight with family but I don't see myself eating any desert besides fruit and tea and also I see myself eating healthy at dinner. I really don't need to wreck myself completely this weekend as my weight is already higher and I feel bloated. I am ready to continue to go back to doing the right thing now! Really.


Morning All.

I'm not so happy with how I've been eating and slowly i'm feeling a gut form, particularly around my abdomen. I think I've prob gained around 3-5lbs over this month of April. I'm excited to go back to having a fitness routine in my life.

With that being said, I am re-energized enough to start up with the gym again. I took off 23 days. So, around 3 weeks. I was still sorta active with cardio a few times this month - walking.

I would have liked to go to the gym tomorrow, but I realize that I cannot go on Tuesday because I have a meeting after work.

SO...I am going to the gym TODAY! and then later i'll go home for Passover to celebrate with my family. Which leaves tomorrow for relaxing and laundry - so, it's really not too bad a deal to get my butt to the gym today. I'm looking forward to messing around a little bit over there! Oh yeah! also, I've learned how to REALLY incorporate the gym no matter how busy I am & I do love the results of hard work at the gym.

I'm looking forward to a better routine, lower weekly calorie counts, and feeling good in my own skin. Overeating isn't worth it.  I woke up once last night soaked in sweat due to binge eating and then I woke up this morning sweaty too. Moving forward!

I'll go to the gym later this AM - maybe around 10-11. My mom wants me home around 3pm today - so I may even go to the gym a lil earlier than that so i'm not rushing over there after showering after the gym (I HATE rushing around after going to the gym to work out!)

Tonight - I've already indulged like on everything this month! And last night. I'm making the promise to myself now - to eat the healthy things tonight & simply "pass over" haha just like Passover! - simply pass over the rest. I'm now getting back on track - a week earlier than I thought (but I always knew in the back of my head that a month was good enough and I may not need the whole month to rest!) ...thank gosh I feel motivated once again for the gym!

It feels great to know i'm ready to go back. I'll have some fast carbs / protein mix and caffeine before the gym.

Morning: strawberries & kombucha

Breakfast #1: small bar, small banana, iced coffee throughout morning

Late Brunch: DD Croissant with bacon & egg (no cheese)

Snack: plum if needed

Early dinner: to be a TON of veggies, maybe hair of white meat chicken, and repeat TONS OF VEGGIES...instead of chicken maybe a greek yogurt. REPEAT: TONS OF VEGGIES since i'll be home early.

maybe a hair trim on my way home at a place where it's EASY to get a fast apt and they are exceptional. they are Brazilian dudes that cut hair really well! and have decent prices also.

1050 before dinner

Huge dinner: mostly steamed veggies 250, popcorn 160, other veggies and a plum 300: around 700, ok.

1750...maybe snack, not sure. DECIDED TO INDULGE:



TOTAL TODAY: APPROX 2350. TASTED REALLY GOOD. and strawberries around 3hrs later. 50 more.

total today: 2400. but I have to say - it wasn't worth it. I was too hungry and too tired. now I remember why I am always more prepared than I was today!

620 thru morning & debating getting back on track with some lower cal days before the Jewish Holiday starting Fri evening...and the dinner with my family Sat night. I want to enjoy that meal :) hoping for veggies galore which my mom now does for me lol...because she loves them too!

Healthy so far...just eating moderately is good enough till the end of this month :)  Why be so hard on myself right? Soon I'll be back at the gym hard core till summer.

I plan to take 2 weeks off in the summer. One during July. One during August most probably to coincide with my small trips in summer. I will also take my bday week off in September. Weeks off meaning from the GYM not WORK!

1200 cals before dinner.

And dinner was going to be small, but I did indulge. All healthy. just large portions and i'm ok with it. My calories are still within range.

2,000 overall cal today. good job to me. still around a 2010 6-day average. not bad.

Lots of veggies, good fats, etc. and an energy drink that lasted all day at work.

otherwise, lots of food. and balanced.

mostly sitting. but I did walk around the bldg. 2x today (bldg. = walking around a full block 2x. not bad. around 10-15 minutes.

I'm happy resting right now.

....there's one thing that I've just been told: my sister invited THREE friends! Two are married and 1 is single and I wish he were not coming. First, I find him attractive. Secondly, he's older (late 40's?) and good friends with my mom. Thrid, I don't want him there at my house all evening lol...and also now I have to dress up...and also I have to be AWAKE longer...sorry.....

i'm making a fuss...i'm just saying the friends my sister invited i'm not close with, so the celebration is now a little bit a stressor though not such a big deal at least it's a Saturday night, not Friday :)

lol...funny you mention challah bread! this is the holiday where for a week we only eat dry bread items without Yeast...like matzah. lol...haha...Yes, i'll take your advice and eat my love (VEGGIES) and protein first.!...

Fave dishes: chicken soup of course that my mom makes (though not for this holiday...), all the roasted veggies my mom makes for all holidays...I will write more on my fave foods (but this holiday doesn't have the best food choices at all! this holiday is known as the holiday that makes all of us CONSTIPATED bc all the food lacks fiber!)...!!!

I voted yesterday for Hillary. Lol. Don't hate! I'm in NYC! :) She's the union's best bet.

6am: Tasty seltzer with stevia & kombucha 70

8:30am: medium banana 120 and small tasty bar 180, green tea. my eyes are bloodshot. need eyedrops I think.???

Snack before lunch: chocolate yogurt...not as god as expected 120 healthy high fat bar instead Chocolate Collagen, but i'm completely sick of these, gave a piece to my boss.

1pm Lunch to be balanced, not too light though. mix of good carbs, popcorn, chicken, extra extra veggies (including my fave Saag) 700 most.

1300...before going home...maybe a decaf coffee later :)

Dinner: first, a large plum 50..followed by heaven: kelp mixed with okra bhindhi masala 400, and a yogurt 100. up to 600 i'll say.

1900, GOOD. healthy. satisfying. may reach for another yogurt. anything goes right now.  Actually, anything does NOT go. i'm satisfied and ready to read soon, only 6:22 and looking to go to bed early.

I am beginning to feel MUCH better at work. MUCH MUCH MUCH better. and I still have a little to go before I start up with the gym again. Good timing on having extra rest. this month!

at 7:30 - ended up having a small bar. is quite alright! 150 cal.

total today is 2050 - happy with this for sure!!! :)


...I may buy more Indian veggies maybe waiting till tomorrow to buy or Friday bc i'm having my apt. cleaned Thursday while I'm at work & should continue to keep the fridge as it is & not fill it up to the brim until after she's cleaned it. I splurge 1x per month on a cleaning lady. $100 and $35 tip.

Will have a lower cal day today - trying for 1700 today.

6am: kombucha 70.

8:30am: lox, cream cheese on white toast (but lower cal not dense bread), and a banana, and energy drink 0 cal from yesterday mixed with water. only 430 cal here.

11:30am or so snack: 120 chocolate greek yogurt

 total before lunch is around 620 and i'm so glad to bring something different for breakfast today!

lunch was around 800. It was healthy. but larger and included veggies. I am indulging right now and want to. it included some saag mixed with kale, chicken white meat with a little skin, and pretzels.

fruit on way home 50

LARGE dinner but ended up being very low cal!: yellow pepper 50, tons of mushrooms, Indian style but most of sauce I washed off (but still a lot!) 200?, and small leftovers of a kelp dish 50...then I decided to VOTE! so I got off my ass and ended up voting and then continuing on a nice walk afterwards! 300 cal...here...followed by:

later on after my walk: 2 yogurts, but light ones 160 total both by light & fit - one was a mouse and the other was flavored boston cream pie! very nice!, and peanut butter to top them off 100! and now i'm so nicely satisfied! yay. good day! and I exercised again!

around 550  cal total at home.

total cals are nice: 1950...plus, I am feeling much better! the walk was really good for me!


Lately, I'm eating way more than I did in the (especially last) month leading up to this wedding. I feel a couple lbs weight gain at most...but I am eager to be lean and not gain any unwanted lbs again. That'll just get me more depressed than I am.

I am probably heading back to the gym before May. Even though i'm still sleeping OVER 8 hrs, I think it's a mental thing going on with me. Maybe. I just need to make sure my legs are feeling better and everything before I start with the gym. I'm nervous to start up again. And nervous about this whole year ahead of me.

I think I need to plan a little bit for gym. Basically, I think I need to cut down on my upper body exercises (actually do a few less of them) and not change anything else yet. I'm saying i'm going to cut down my workout a little bit. Make it shorter.

I don't know what to do...I don't even like the sound of cutting down my workout. We'll see. I have to think about things. I may start working out without energy drink? but I always liked that...

not sure what I want..

J. your going to drive yourself crazy. Did you ever think of taking meditation classes could probably help you to relax, sleep better, worry less. There are a lot of benefits to meditation. It is good at times to empty your brain out it is a little like pressing delete on the keyboard empties out all the junk that is roaming around in there. Just a suggestion.

Could you substitute a walk around the block for a time. Just to get some fresh air and a break from the hectic thinking? Also, sometimes I take a sheet of paper and write down all the different options that are on my mind. Really go into detail. Then set aside for a few hours. When you come back to them tweak the one that you like the best - then begin on Monday!

yes, this is in fact what i'm doing. thank you for the great suggestion. I realize that I must give myself a break overall. and not even regret it right now. If I come home, eat dinner right away, relax & go to bed early - so be it. I trying not to regret the fact that i'm coming home & not even walking for 10 min at home. at least i'm getting good rest right now.

yeah...i'll tweak little by little and give myself a break. I have a year to get it fully down pat for the academy.

I just have to slow it all down :)

Actually when- you think about it, you are not really 'slowing down' you are being 'wise'. The more you take care of yourself, the better you will feel when the going gets tough. I was inspired by a commercial I saw - "I accept the fact that I am not sprinting the way I did when I was 18, but I will not accept anything less than my personal best."

Knowing the difference between striving for 'unrealistic' goals and operating in 'real life' can really bring you a peaceful outlook. You may not be 18 anymore but you are a healthy 30 and yes that is still young!! (didn't you know 50 is the new 30)

You got this Coach - You will bounce back - in good time...key word being 'time'.

6am: kombucha 70

8:30am: big banana 150 and Nice, small but satisfying protein bar 180: 330

11am: small but good (pretty natural as well) high fat, mod protein & low carb peanut butter bar 200.

1pm lunch: FANTASTIC. my boss cooked! and it was chicken! and veggies and some tomato sauce and then I had some of my own spinach saag and okra. amazing lunch. around 650-700 cal.

1300 & healthy. before fruit maybe on way home :)

big dinner: healthy but emphasis on big. around 800 cals of filling goodness. treated myself to everything but the kitchen sink ;)

2100. around maybe 15 min walk at most. rest is good right now!

600. planning on low carb during work & higher carb of fruit on the way home & protein pancake tonight maybe. unless I have an urge for vegetables & I will eat those instead with chicken and maybe some popcorn or chips for dinner. we'll see. I have a nice rostissie at home (brought some for lunch today) and I've been craving chicken as I haven't been eating a lot of it lately. Planning on eating a lot of chicken this week :) I think i'll feel better with more dense protein in me!

Morning at work: caffeine. Half exhausted, half I don't know what. Looking to move past these feelings though :) Should be a nice week this week. I have to remind myself again that it's a short one! wahoo! Nice, short week that will end 2pm Friday at work I am leaving early for Passover observances that I feel entitled to leaving early for. :) wahoo.

My head is sorta spinning, but i'll make it stop. Even with all this caffeine, if I were home at this moment, i'd go back to bed. I am feeling THAT tired. I guess I shouldn't take a sleeping pill (not even the Melatonin 3mg I took last night) tonight again. I'm just too tired to work.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

You got to get rested up J. I know you can't catch up on sleep but at one point you are going to have to start feeling rested or you are not going to win this battle with your sleep. Maybe you should turn it from a negative to a positive and see what happens like when you did not feel good about yourself. If it worked for that it will also work for your sleep time. Alrighty Kombucha lady. I bought a bottle to try. I DO NOT LIKE IT! Plus I didn't realize it was fizzy, so I shook the bottle real good right before opening it. Oh dear!

What I meant is that instead of saying I am so tired and using the word tired you encourage yourself to be tired in acknowledging it and give it all the power. My mom use to tell me that the more I say something the more I am what I say.

very true & I may even go back to the gym earlier than expected because I realize i'm going to gain weight and not be feeling great at this rate come May if perhaps I don't get back to the gym sooner! :)
