Dear Admissions Department for xx Program:

My objective in writing this letter is to convey to you that xx will be an asset to your school’s graduate program.  I had the opportunity to work with xx during the Spring and Summer of 2019, as well as in the Winter of 2020, on a very large-scale xxxx project.  xx assisted both myself and other members of our project management team during his time on board with us.     

                As part of our team, xx displayed a strong level of professionalism and daily composure.  He was always prompt for his early 7:30am start time.  Moreover, xx demonstrated excellent time management abilities, finishing assignments in the time allotted.  I felt that I could trust that xx would always approach his work with efficiency.          

                It was simple for me to communicate and work with xx because he was a good listener.   xx was receptive to receiving feedback from myself and others.  The work that xx performed was very detail-oriented and required his full attention.   Xx was assigned to fast-forward the entering of a large amount of data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and that responsibility required someone who could enter data with accuracy and not a jumble of significant mistakes!  I could regularly count on xx to get it done in addition to its being done with accuracy.   

                I have no doubt in my mind that xx will continue to display the skills that are needed to be successful in your academic arena as well as beyond.  I know xx will excel in the xx Program as well as in the workforce once he completes his degree.


     I think i wrote a dam** good letter, don't you!?!?!?!

I've decided when i'm done exercising, i'm going out to supermarket for a very limited amount of veggies (mostly for the pigs as i have lots of cooked ones and some seltzers for myself...maybe...gotta do the letter of rec after the supermarket no matter what though!


hey all. i'm home probably all day. still bad cramps but no TOM. ugh PMS!

anyways, i'm trying to study more of the PM.  yesterday, i didn't do as much studying as i could have done.  so i'm doing a bit more today. shouldn't be hard at all to fit that in....not getting far enough, but i keep reviewing my notes....def need to do more....thinking to write out the last page of formulas notes, seems it will take 3 pages to write them out, and i've done 2 pages so far....based on how much is left, it seems it's only a page or less to go...if i do that, i will not need to keep thinking i need to look at the app to study the formulas and just stick to my notes for the next few days...should keep me somewhat busy. and i also need to think about reviewing another page in my textbook (just one page, a chart) of processes of Project management....

laundry is done so that's great...yesterday did all...DONE


friend/neighbor brought his two twins that are 7yrs old to play with my guinea pigs for like a half hour this AM...maybe it was slightly over 30min...that was nice, DONE

I want to get back into my weights today - yes, doing upper body and lower body exercises (lower body are body weight only exercises, mostly types of squats). in progress, started around 2:30pm......

and i have an assortment of food, especially veggies, so that's great too...not enough raw ones though...maybe just get a pepper/lettuce?

OH!!!!...and the letter of recommendation! MUST DO THIS TODAY! ..at least i feel up to it, today!!! :)...i will look at 3 old Letters of Rec that i used back in 2003 and take the wording from them / revise iwth my own...that's all...i just realized i have no recent letters of rec for myself...hmm...something to think about / try to get from former coworkers maybe....but i don't think letters of rec are valuable for people already working / older...i think they are more for academics/just out of college.

i couldn't really use much from the old letters written for me bc they were specfic to MUSIC JOBS. yup. so i wrote my own...took approx 2 hours for me to write and fix up...because i also had to make sure i had addressed it correctly to 5 different programs as the student asked me to do.

and possibly just some leg cardio on my indoor bike...tonight....?....def not doing before the letter of rec though...

i was surprised how into the pigs they were today! they had come another day and they still needed to warm up to the pigs bc it was their first time...today, they were so happy to hold them and were SO COMFORTABLE compared to last time! it's amazing how fast kids get used to things!

they saw how much the pigs poop bc they were with them for a long time and i also showed them how much they poop overnight (saved it up for them - so when they came they could look into the cage before i cleaned it)...and because of those reasons i doubt they will get guinea pigs - they are a lot of work / laundry - these pets. and they have a crowded apt...def not wise for to get guinea pigs! but i don't mind them playing with mine!

Had an AMAZING volunteering experience today - cleaning up picking up trash around a pond / park.  it was so good because i spend the whole two hours with a nice guy! I doubt we'll chat again, but we spoke and walked around together for a full two hours and it was a good time!!!!! We both seemed to get along and that's why it was so fun! It was only from 10am-Noon, so a good amount of time and I am able to get some studying done at home.  I picked up a LOT of cooked veggies on the way home from my favorite veggie places in that area...and ordered a bit more than i should have...so i will have food for literally days now (they may indeed last a whole week..). 

This guy's nickname that he called himself was Jac...and for you all that know me, I'm Jackie! He was a bigger dude, African American, and a veteran of the army...but after that fact, we had some very interesting commonalities. We both grew up on Long Island, now both live in queens, he grew up only about 20min from where i did, he is working in the electrical field (so did i) ...and i believe we are around the same age. We were mostly talking about life, work, and some experiences. if anything, it was good to hang out with a friendly GUY! <3

where I bought most of the veggies: I forgot to get a photo of the other but I may look it up for you guys:...and no, I live in queens not manhattan, so these wonderful veggies are not available "all over" and you still need to know where to go to find so many in one shot, all

cooked up!


Breakfast: oats 150, raisins 150, kombucha 40...350...

Noon snack after volunteering at noon: nut and granola bar 150

1:30pm-2pm late lunch: a serving of fried jamaican rice 300 (tops) with shrimp 100, and some salad with light dressing that came with it 100. that's it for now. half a glass of my light wine 50. 550.

3:30 after a full shower lol and a lot of relaxing, some gummies 150 and some coffee 50. 200

5:30 tastes of this pumpkin beer (not enough pumpkin but ok) 100, small apple 50.

6:30 light dinner - sauteed and spiced pumpkin 150 from guyanese restaurant, pumpkin yogurt whole milk type  to which i added  sf choc chips 220...400...more of that pumpkin beer 100



3:30pm...now studying the notes i've written out so far for the formulas (i've written out 2/3 of the formulas) and reviewing formulas now...and maybe reviewing another unrelated section of PM later....i may also think/write the letter of recommendation, later tonight...

I was thinking to do laundry but i realize i can wait on it till after the weekend, which is my plan :) laundry done - guinea fleeces needed it and i threw everything else in the machines downstairs too. DONE

might have a visit from neighbor and his twin little girls...they wanted to play again with my guinea pigs! haha...he may come tomorrow, another reason why i washed the guinea pig fleeces and put down clean ones!  he's married and a friend, which is why he comes with his two 7 year olds...they've been here 2x to hold my piggies.

...i'm not going to reach out to him any time soon...

you see, being that i don't have stable employment, it makes me not want to date right now. i just don't want any real distractions other than the distractions i am giving myself!

1pm-ish late lunch: wrap 150, leftover small fried fish patty 150? which was actually good (i didn't make this - sandwiches were given to volunteers this past Wednesday - glad i had some remaining protein in my fridge...! but i didn't want the hard bread and cheese it came with so i put it in a wrap...), the rest of some eggplant in tasty tomato sauce 150, potato chips 200, half a tasty, peach beer (did NOT taste like beer!, more like grapefruit beer, totally fruity!) 100. 750..

3:30 other half the beer which def doesn't take like beer, thankfully. the seller told me it was more like champagne and she's right. 100

6pm snack turned dinner: rest of the gummies from one package, LOL....100;

leftover cooked veggies 100, chicken bacon 100, wrap 150.....350 was gonna make eggs, but, the chicken bacon was easier)..





hey all. feeling not so good.  i'm not sick but i'm completely run down from the volunteering and two days ago 3 hours of lifting gallons of milk. i'm also PMSing terribly (a bad month this time around) with some cramps as well as body aches in the typical places for me - butt, thigh,lower back. I'm relaxing today and using my PM app...that's about it. NO EXERCISE today. The PMS pain has woken me up for the past two nights...and last night i actually got out of bed to take some pain relievers. I'll be fine...just want to relax at home while i can.

I do have to pick up a candle today that i bought on marketplace....and begin to write a Letter of Recommendation for a college student that i worked with over the summer.  I kinda told him i'd have it by Sunday, so, if i REALLY do not want to do it today - I simply do NOT have to do it today. I gave myself the deadline of the weekend, thinking that would be ok for him - i let him know i'd email it to him by Sunday night.  :)  So honestly, i may skip that letter of rec today...hey!, the day is up to me, and i'm feeling like crap...i really should look at my PM app and continue with writing down the formulas which i'm writing rather small by hand and it seems they will take up two full pages of notes...UGH!

anyways, that's that for now..

and i'm eating what i want right now, within some light reasoning!

Thank you Annie, i'm just entirely run-down. I do not think it's Covid at all, I just think i overplanned a bit too much for myself...and that if i'm assigned to give out gallons of milk, to ask to switch to something else for half the time because it was a big too much soreness afterwards.

or maybe it's the time of the month that is really to blame here.

i did the research and actually emailed the courts to ask about their exams and how to score extra points....they only way is to be a veteran (there's a law that's in place, giving them extra points on civil service tests if they are mentally able, and not diabled to a point where they couldn't perform the role).

so, being that volunteering as an Auxiliary police officer isn't going to help me, and how taxed i feel after volunteering when i want to and only when i want to....i'm not going to go thru with the auxiliary police thing - let the younger guys do that. it helps in credits to be a cop i believe...and i'm not doing that...

so i'll just stick to what i do....and keep my fingers crossed for those court tests in the future. and understand i'm not a veteran so no extra credits for me! ha! and truth is, the Vets deserve them for what they do for this country! :)


volunteered for a very short session that ended early. it was only around 9:30-11am, very close by also - 15min approx away and I was able to park in the senior center parking lot instead of street parking. so that was good!

noon lunch - i splurged and bought some ready made veggies (hot food) from a natural food place near me...around only 350-400 cal i think, tops, then some gummy candy with sugar 150, later a chocolate coated Greens health bar 300 splurge (tastes like candy, lots of chocolate on it). 850

i should have taken a nap, but i'm drinking some caffeine now...the only thing i need to do today is use my Proj manager app and look at formulas... :)

 quite a bit sore from my volunteering yesterday and lifting lots of gallons of milk for around 3 hours....need to recover from that! LOL. my legs are also sore, but that's just because of that last high mileage walkk with parents that i didn't fully recover from so other walks and stuff have made my legs feel weak, i know, it's hard to imagine. my legs suck. 

after getting home, the next 4 hours, from around noon-4pm, i have been EXTREMELY sore, sleepy and tired. just relaxing. i'll be studying tonight. NO EXERCISE. tomorrow will only be weights and possibly almost no cardio either. i'm a little over-taxed in terms of the volunteering - great exercise, but now i'm going to rest up and study my PM app.


There will be another walk with a nature leader in mid December!!! (same place and plan as the one i missed last Saturday due to getting lost!!!). The leader actually emailed me to see if i want to go!!!!!! i asked if she needs me to pay again...i'll let you all know! either way, i plan to go. I'm SO HAPPY. the place where the walk is - is not good to go on your own because it's a bit secluded! but it's PERFECT in group form! i can't wait....mid december, around the 19th?   praying for no rain / no snow!!!!!!!!!!  I didn't email the leader about missing it because i knew it was my fault...and was so happy to see her email late today!!! :)

  • light upper body weights...will be skipping 1 type of set (biceps) bc i think i did enough while lifting gallon milks all morning!...and will use lighter weights on the chest press (not even going to try my typical weights)...had a little coffee 7:15 and grapes before it...100 DONE
  • then, the phone app for PM...and writing down formulas...

Do you speak French HOP? I can, some, but better reading than speaking. Spent a summer studying French in a university outside of Paris years ago. Also took it in high school and college. Always wished I had taken Spanish!

French is soooo much prettier than Spanish ! Nope I don’t speak it! My friend in Paris learned it while living there ! She moved for her fiancé but is still there after their breakup!

My sister went for a university year in Italy bc she studied fashion business ! Lucky you to spend time there ! Beautiful place, Paris !

She doesn’t like it - it’s a lot worse in Paris than here or in Chicago. She can go out for only an hour per day for exercise and everything else needs to be for actual needs and to come right back home - she doesn’t want to break the rules. Also, you can only use the metro / subway for essential needs ! So she can not use it unless she goes to her physical therapy for her disability. She says the French govt is very militaristic in their approach

4:45 early dinner Arby's waffle fries 300??, one chicken finger 200...550 tops, diet coke

After that, i'll take a short walk to refill my laundry card DONE!

I did weights yesterday, thankfully, so my day is quite open.  I will do leg exercises today DONE!

in addition to some indoor bike/outdoor walking most probably??? DONE!

The lettuce i bought last week was a "lemon" and has spoiled faster than it should - i should look closely at it - see what i can save from it and what should be dumped..


laundry has been done, cooking doesn't need to be done for another couple days...although i could stand to eat more veggies...

I should use this time to be slightly more active (exercise), not skip days, volunteer, and study for the PM exam. 


I contacted the superintendent, he says they are waiting for a contract / deal to come thru before hiring me - he doesn't say what deal or when, so it makes me nervous but i will just be patient bc it seems it will work out in the end.

Yes no more classes to January or later, depending how I feel. I have to study now for a n international test - not sure if I will pass it even if I study but I’ll try to push myself more to study. The test will be sometime in early December and I may take it 2x

You did really well, getting so much done! I'm sorry to hear that the ADR class wasn't as rewarding as your other paralegal classes. Not the subject matter but the way it was taught. But you finished it! Do you think you'll miss not having paralegal stuff not to study?

I will finish week 6 reading and all assignments for ADR possibly today for paralegal bc i will be done with the course and not be taking another till possibly late january or even later...so i may just try to finish the course today since i am so close.  the reading for the last two chapters was FAR less than the other weeks. ..in progress....lots of questions to answer on the final exam...thinking just to "charge like a bull" tonight and do them...already did a lot of work between 1:30-4pm. ...i have two questions i saved for tomorrow (did like 40 questions today, many of them written-out answers, not mulitple choice.  So, i have two more for tomorrow morning because i don't want to think about the assignment anymore. Worked around 6 hours on it today. that's enough.

it's 76F today, my semi-plan is to walk a little outside?, bike a little inside...HOUR walk, nice out. wore a t-shirt and went out at 4pm. little cool bc sun was going down, but didn't get cold with just a tshirt on! DONE

not sure if i'm going to do PM today, but if i do, i'll prob do it while watching a show on TV tonight...formulas section of the app


i didn't do any cardio yesterday or any exercise at all. mostly on the couch, writing and reading, so it's in my interest to exercise (indoors or outdoors for cardio).

One thing I've been thinking about - since you have the time right now - would you be able to prepare a study notebook from your paralegal classes in order to prepare for the court exams? Or is there a study guide for those exams? Food for thought.

I know you guys aren't intent on my exact desires, but, i have emailed myself so i can always remind myself of the dates for the next upcoming possibility of court tests for the positions I would apply for: 

  • Court revenue assistant - 2017 (last year the test was given) -JG14 (starting salary per their chart,  around 45k, after 7 years ABSOLUTE minimum is 62k) next TEST around 2021-22


  • Court assistant - 2017 (last year the test was given)- JG16 (starting salary per the chart,  around 51k, after 7 years minimum is 70k) NEXT TEST AROUND 2021-22
 I think i SHOULD be very happy if i got either of the above positions.  I have made salaries closer to the upper ends up there, but, you HAVE to start somewhere if you change careers or even "shops" or company of employment....
I feel i have done many things right in the past few years and that i "deserve this."...then again, so many people deserve so many things...just let this go right for me.
There's one more test, for the lowest pay, coming around 2023-2024, so it is my hope that i will pass both the other two tests, above, and THAT I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THEM!...they may be administered late 2022 because of all this chaos / covid.  It's my hope to take them, pass them, get selected around a year later after the test....and enter the NYS court field, G-d bless. if not, well, i may just wait again to take the tests another 4-6 years later after that! OR TAKE THE 2023-2024 TEST FOR a slightly even lower position from the two above, but the incentive is to "get into" the nys court program and move up from wherever i initially start from....
no age restrictions here. but, G-d willing, i have my chances and do well the first time around, please....if there even are tests around 2022 (i don't think they'll be around for 2021 - things are still in such disarray). if i had the opportunity to join this field, my worries about where i'll always be in my current field would be put to an end. and the courts ONLY HIRE as many as they need....they do not have extra personnel, per se, so i wouldn't have as much as a problem, at all, relative to "job security." I WANT JOB SECURITY before ANYTHING ELSE. 
both starting salaries will rise and within 7 years, both will be around 65k...livable as a single person, for SURE. and there's ability to rise after that by taking more tests and gaining leverage in higher roles in the court system. it is possible, it is achievable, it is for ME.


Hi! Back at home most of today, doing my work on the couch...

8:30am Breakfast: piece of pumpkin pie filling only 200, some kombucha 50

snack: gummy candy...230...(sorta large serving, with sugar, by Sunkist brand).

12:30pm lunch goldfish crackers 200, 1/4 large hamburger 100, part of this energy drink thing 50, .... later candies 70 and taste of beer 30...410

4pm, while still completing my Week 5 hw that has taken most of today (which is fine!), a sampling of some banana bread my sister made which was at my parent's house and a small iced coffee 200 total)

6pm goldfish crackers, 200 at most, wrap 150, 1/4 of a burger again 100. 450.



Yesterday was lots of cardio outdoors. Today, even though weather is REALLY nice, I may opt to stay home to get more things done (easy if you stay home all day!!)....The weather will be nice for several days, so, it just makes it so i can spend some time outdoors tomorrow ;)


I've finished reading ADR chapter 5...now just reading the teacher notes online...then i'm going to answer all the test questions for this week...in progress - took most of the day...DONE

Once i'm done with that activity, i'll shower, HAHA. LOL didn't finish the activity, but took a break to shower. DONE

I should do weights today...i'll make my final decision on if i do them today or tomorrow by later today...most prob doing them today...

for the PM test, i'm now looking at the formulas section, writing them out from the app all on one page to lookover, it could take more than a day, there's MANY formulas...in progress now...

taking some time off cardio today....yesterday almost did 5mi...so, i don't feel bad at all staying inside most of today...may change my mind much later...it's so warm out, maybe 75F!?

I kinda feel the same way - I got everything done yesterday, so today is definitely less regimented.

I'm hoping to do leg weights today, but I might wait until Monday. I usually have no problem motivating myself to do leg weights. Upper body is a different story.

I read your ordeal with the planned walk yesterday. I'm so sorry that didn't work out. Getting lost sounds like something that would entirely happen to me. Then I'd be kicking myself, Why didn't I research that better? DOH! At least you made the best of the situation by hanging out with your parents - and still getting a great walk in, too! I think it's a lovely idea to try to find the location on Monday. It will bring you a feeling of satisfaction and closure.

i could have DEFINITELY avoided getting lost if i looked further at the map and found the exact cross streets / way to get into the park.

once into the court positions, people try to ride out their jobs as long as possible. people try to get in to last there until their retirement. NOT a lot of changeover in the courts. it's a good, stable, governement/public job. They are civil service tests that a lot of people want to take.

I'm so glad that you shared the court jobs testing listing with us! Very interesting! You should test for all - even the lowest paying one. The most important thing is getting into the system.

There may be more court job openings if there is more litigation: foreclosure, evictions, debt collecting, divorce...

I hope you are right! I also think that there will be incentives to hire new and for older workers to retire and younger ones to replace those ....I mean that I think there will be a lot of changeover - I hope - in the next years after most of Covid will have passed and things can resume

before the walk, I'm on my couch in an attempt to completely finish the shorter chapter 5 of the textbook so that I can read the online notes and then answer the questions - maybe get it all done today, not sure...nope, only got thru half the chapter before the walk... :(..finishing my reading tonight once i get home back to my apt....

i also want to do some laundry since while volunteering I got some kind of stain that needs to come out of my clothes 

and of course, I am beyond the Tips section in the PM app and I will finally focus on the math formulas section - I will start by writing the formulas out on loose leaf paper by hand as a way to study them....so that's the PM project of the day...and i also plan to keep that paper very handy...at all times...jusst started, while at parents i used my phone app, NOT ENOUGH. but that's it for today.

well I got really really lost even with the gps to find the part of the park I needed to go to. So lost I totally missed the walk / stopped looking and called parents to see if they want to walk so then I drove to their house and we'll have lunch and walk Lol. Sucks I missed the $15 walk - maybe tomorrow I'll find out where it was supposed to take place.

Totally couldn’t find the part of the park where we were supposed to meet - how sad - so I eventually drove to my parents for a walk near them back in another direction lol oh well. Bummed but I totally got completely lost even with the gps !!!!

really nice lunch, VERY LONG walk (my mom can walk it faster than me, so sad lol, the walk more than i do and are pretty fit (my parents)) We walked a boardwalk back and forth, 4.5miles! i was so beat! i didn't even realize the length till after....so i was a little frustrated with how long it took just because i didn't realize it was going to be such a long walk till we finished! haha...was good. lots of exercise. !!!!

great, active volunteering, good exercise....4 hours of mostly working with ripping boxes apart, cutting them apart, lifting milk, lifting other boxes, and assisting/assigning duties as needed! if i want i could be a leader, but because of my sorta wacky and unknown work schedule, i will not take that type of responsibility up...i'll leave it for the "kids" that are 25-30 that like to assume this type of responsibility.

off to volunteer for 4 hours in afternoon, plus time travel to get there and back...will use bus/train for sure....or possibly my car/train....i realize i may be able to drive myself partially and i might...reason i will not drive the full way is very tight parking situation where the volunteering is taking place and i don't want to deal with the potential of not getting a spot without aggrivation / long time looking

i was emailed that they provide volunteers lunch, but i ate a little something anyways as it's not smart to rely fully on the unknown...and i was quite hungry....so i got some protein and carbs in so i'm satisfied for the commute...!!

Yes, i've decided to drive half, park where there is parking, and take the train the rest of the way....saves some time this way....and because i am in my car coming home, i may be able to stop somewhere if i want to...probably not though!


 This is Frankie, my slightly bigger pig. I'll post my pig Ricky either later or in a future post !  sorry about my crazy house clothes. they are quite "colorful."  i just don't see the point to buy fleeces that are more natural colors and buy all new clothes...to wear inside my apt. i'm not that rich to just throw out good clothes that i wear inside (and when going inside apt down to do laundry....so some people do see me in these outfits...) but i'm still not purchasing new clothes. other folks also dress sorta funny when just doing laundry or taking down recycleables to the garbage area on the first floor. if i were never, ever, into saving money or caring at all...well then i'd change the fleeces and get rid of the green and pink ones...but i'm not in that mindset! :)

I volunteered in a town/city called Long Island City which is part of Queens, NY. It's not on Long Island even the from its name you'd think so!

I volunteered the second shift from 12:30-4:30 and it was great exercise. At first, i wasn't going to get exercise and just needed to stand in place and direct a line and i was grateful that i was able to change my position quite quickly. it was a great workout.

since i arrived at the start of the shift, i didn't take part in the food that they offered, but it was looking really, really good. multiple salads, chicken dishes, fish dishes...etc, all cooked up in the school's kitchen where it was taking place. everyone was eating inside and it wasn't my cup of tea anyways, but the real reason i didn't eat is that i got there just in the nick of time to start my shift, and i had just had lunch anyways.

i'm not sure i'd feel so safe to eat that food...indoors and around so many people not wearing a mask.
