1/30 Sunday -

Any comments are welcome: It seemed obvious to me especially all last week at work that the highest level boss (exec) and my other main boss had been vocally joking way more with me and just treating me more favorably than the other two women, especially the younger one. In general, I am the one who all the men in the trailer where i work joke with most out of 3 women. But by Friday, a couple days ago i mean, it was becoming so obvious in my mind that even though it's "nice to be the favored one," it may not be nice once that backfires and the other two women start to resent you or the other men in the trailer start to joke too much or think why is she getting this special treatment...rumors can start, people can get annoyed, etc...

So, because the younger lady was crying about it all and she seemed just upset all week; and because i knew that things could go so awry for me (and the exec), i went to his office after work.  I told him bluntly that i feel like it's obvious i'm being favored and that i was concerned for both him, the other coworkers, and myself - that it could be looked at negatively and to try to not be obvious in commending me on work in front of everyone if it's only going to be to me because they will start to feel left out..and be upset...i told him that she was very upset...and he went on to tell me certain things i didn't know which made more sense why him and another boss did what they did...but still i reminded him that it just doesn't look good on him/me/others to have favorites outwardly and leave others out....

I didn't want to go to boss about this. it's nice to be the favorite! But, it's not nice when you see how badly it appears and how it can hurt others.  Some things, when so obvious like this was, will only come back to bite you....so the exec said he "doesn't play favorites" at first, but also said he would take what i'm saying into consideration. we spoke a long time, half hour, because he let me in on some backstory that of course was his discretion to do...as it's none of my business anyway.

I still want to cook for the exec of which i usually bring food 1x a week, but now i realize i may be too obvious too...???...i only bring veggies, not a full meal...as he once said he would like if i did....do i have to bring for more than just the boss? comments welcome on this too...

At work i have to start/work on the list asap of people being paid for being out with covid, the most important work task to finish by Wednesday end of day is my goal :) I'm actually the one that fills out a spreadsheet for payment and all details and then payroll checks it; and usually doesn't find much or anything lately to change if i do it well...and the employees are almost always paid exactly how i put it down on the spreadsheet; so it's nice to play a roll in that at my company..(this task is mostly started in detail by me after the end of the month, when i have all the details throughout the month of employees that are included. i save everything in one email folder for this task, but do not organize it until the month is done so i have what i need and anything i'm missing i solve in one shot, not all month long...otherwise this task becomes a distraction to other things i am working on the rest of the month, so i stick it all in one place; and go into detail with it once the month is over...)

Maria7 on 01/30/2022:
Be yourself. You can't help it if you're the favored one. The others can step up to becoming more favored if they simply put in the effort. Very sweet of you to bring veggies to Exec. I wouldn't stop that and I wouldn't feel obliged to bring for everybody unless I particularly wanted to do it and only sometimes. You are a very sweet person and it is no wonder you are a favored one. As for jokes...sometimes there DOES have to be a limit put on that if it goes too far and you could simply not respond and that will slow that down. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
thank you for the insightful comments. you know, like you are saying, i did start to not react to all jokes as you are so right that it does help slow it down a little bit from them...thank you for this reminder to not react more.

i appreciate your thoughts.

bearcountrygg on 01/30/2022:
Since I'm not there to actually see what is going on I will just say that if I was bringing in food to work to share...I would bring in enough for everyone and not just the/a boss......I would not want to be accused of looking for special treatment by singling out the boss.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
although you and maria disagree, you both have points. i may need to actually wait for awhile (like this week at least) before bringing in more food to him. :( because it's true, it cannot just be him but me that has to work to make the situation less apparent / obvious right now.

Jacky82020 on 01/30/2022:
Seems to me you are encouraging them & playing right into it, reveling, & then running to a supervisor. You’re playing both sides. Never good.

All you have to do is to behave in a more professional manner & stop playing with boys. This will not end well for you. Not sure, but didn’t your father get you this job? A further complication

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
i am not sure i communicated my point clearly enough for you to understand. thank you anyways.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
i will be OK at this job for awhile.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:

bearcountrygg on 01/30/2022:
I see that Maria responded before I did and we have very different opinions on this.....and that is just fine...I always respect Marias opinions because I find her very honest and caring. This is likely one of those situations that you almost need to be present to really assess accurately.......I don't know the guys obviously but I'm coming from the place where I'm questioning their motives...( especially the one guy).....But you are a big girl and I'm sure you know when a guy is crossing lines.....( is he single?).....something to also keep an eye on is that you aren't in an office building...you are in a trailer as far as I can tell.....but I'm sure you know how to stay safe.........

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
He is married, 11 years older. kids grown up already, he had them early.

i do know he thinks i'm attractive and he does flirt. i do not initiate it but do fall into a trap of reacting to it, my bad - i am not perfect.

however, i do not really want to go thru with any motives, etc. i do not want that and so it will not happen. as for safety, it is very safe - i do not feel any worries as far as him crossing lines - he will not.

it was more of an obvious display on his part publically. nobdoy is perfect and i wasn't perfect in going along with it sometimes either.

i will play it very down this week.....i do not want to "stir the pot" and cause any other issues for anyone.

i appreciate your comments.

Donkey on 01/30/2022:
How much snow did you end up getting? I'm impressed that the roads are clear enough to venture out to Home Depot - but then again, I'm a chicken butt when it comes to driving situations, so you can't really go by me on anything relating to driving.

I think I too would wait to see if the 3 lights come on again. That recently happened with Mistakes Girl. The 2nd time it happened, they stayed on, and she had to take it in to the shop -- so it was more than a glitch when it happened again and the lights stayed on, if that makes sense.

Work drama: You'd think I'd be a pro at this, by now, right? I agree with Maria in that you should be yourself. I believe in being authentic and true to yourself. Besides, if you changed anything about yourself, it would be obvious and probably not long-lasting - you'd come across as being fake, and that's not good, nor that's not who you are either, at least from what I know of you over these years.

Maybe hold off on the food situation though, at least for a while. I myself agree with Bear that if you're going to bring in anything, it should be for everyone. However, this is my biased opinion based on MY office experience, and only that.

I do understand why you had been making vegetable dishes for the Exec. though. Hmm... When was the last time you brought him a dish? Maybe wait a little bit longer before bringing in the next one. I mean, he's the Exec. and he said it was OK to cook for him.

Without actually being at your office, I would say, for now, pull back on the cooking, for a month, maybe 2, and then evaluate the office atmosphere. I'm just thinking along the lines of keeping the peace for now.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
i think i got around 10"-11". it was extremely powdery, so for people shoveling, it was the best kind, the lightest.

yes,i'll see about when/if the lights come on again. car ran fine, i think it's a faulty sensor issue..

yeah, i'll have to hold off on the food this week, but will prob want to keep doing it when i have a new recipe i want to try and share...i'm not sure i could just stop giving food, but i also realize i could bring in things like my almonds / cookies / snacks to leave in the kitchen area for everyone :) which is what i'm doing tomorrow.

i was bringing him a taste of my veggie dishes 1x per week, for most weeks the past 2 months give or take a week.

i do think you are right that i have to pull back as well, not just the boss. thank you.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2022:
yeah, i mostly cook veggies, so i figured i'd bring him those lol; especially bc they are healthy and atypical to what people bring coworkers and bc when i'm trying a new recipe it was fun to watch someone besides myself eat it. i used to bring food for other coworkers too in my past job, just turns out they were mostly females. was a different crew. pulling back :(

legcramps on 01/31/2022:
Oh man, just catching up on the workplace drama. Yikes! My tummy feels uncomfortable just reading about this, so I can't imagine how you're feeling about it.

All office dynamics are going to be different depending on the situation, they all need to be viewed with context, and without judgment from the outside.

There are a lot of things to consider, aren't there? I can offer another perspective from my own experience, and I'll tell you this - if you let it get out of hand, it can become a lot more uncomfortable.

I don't know the reasons why you only bring food in to Exec - is it because he's the only one who seems interested in trying it? Are you acquaintances outside of work?

Aside from that, I don't know that you should or need to change the way you behave with people at work, so long as you're being professional and not playing into anyone's office games. Sure, it's not fun to see people joking around and getting along when someone doesn't feel part of that, but that's not on you so don't make it your problem.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/31/2022:
Thank you Legs, i've read your comment and i appreciate your thoughts. i bring him the food because i once told him i cook here and there and he said he wouldn't mind eating it...so i try new recipes for veggies and bring him a bit of eat; usually less than i bring for myself. it's not a full meal, but a veggie portion. i don't cook for anyone, so it's kinda fun to see him eat it all, he's not picky. but i will slow it down, instead just bringing some almonds for the whole team tomorrow.

legcramps on 02/01/2022:
Yeah, it sounds like your co-workers might be taking this out of context. I'm sorry it's ruining the fun of being able to cook and have someone else appreciate it! I know I enjoy it when BF appreciates and finds the food that I cook to his liking, so I get it. Keep us updated on whether the team appreciates the almonds!

It sounds like you are very well prepared for this storm. We are supposed to be getting a nasty storm Tuesday night into Wednesday. I am already dreading this, and hoping that this round of snow will be delayed until Wednesday night or even Thursday.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/29/2022:
oh no! what number storm would it be for you!? you've written about snow pretty often this winter!

Never read the book, but think it was a great movie. May have starred River Phonix & a very young Kevin Bacon. Old film. Can’t really recall cast.

i think also Brad Pitt...as per Donkey.

HEALTHY Lunch!!!!: cucumber salad from the other day, still good :) 150 tops, wrap 100, leftover cooked carrot negl and brisket (still extremely tasty from frozen!) serving size 300....550.

Snacks:no :)

6pm Dinner: gummy vits 50, dried jackfruit (amazon subscription came in, love this stuff!) 100 by Mavuno Harvest - you gotta have teeth for it, sometimes it's soft other times quite diff to chew which is why i like it...takes awhile to eat!, one more bag of jackfruit 100, and later 3 chocolates. 150. relaxed all night as well. 400

1450-1500. (happy about this bc i am exercising less and less due to ankle).

1/28 Fri

1/29 Saturday - Hopefully i do not cancel this volunteer session like all the other ones recently due to weather, etc! ;) ...but if my ankle isn't up to it, or my mind isn't up to this excursion, i'll def skip, so we shall see...

10am-12pm -  NYC Parks Stewardship - Paerdegat Park (Brooklyn)  - this one looks to be more of a walking tour! Never been to this park and hardly go into this area of Brooklyn so i'm looking forward to a change of pace. Meeting at Ecology Park Gate - closest intersection is Bergen Avenue and Avenue T)  (We will be walking with people who identify 14 species of plants at  Albany Ave., E. 40 St. between Farragut Rd. and Foster Ave., Brooklyn.

Finally - roast the potatoes i bought two weeks ago, despite the fact that i have tons of rice at work already to eat this coming week. (i have a ton of wraps to eat at home, trying to make a dent in them!)

1/30 Sunday Home

1/31 Monday -

2/21/22 Monday - President's Day Off - 3 day weekend ;)

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 01/27/2022:
Oh I get it --- once you get into the habit of exercise, it's so tempting and, believe it or not, hard to resist. I hope that you are not in too much pain or discomfort today.

On the other hand, I DID end up taking my own advice - ha ha ha - and didn't do any weights last night. Went to bed early. Lights out early. I don't always evaluate my own situation objectively, so I'm actually quite glad that I made this suggestion to you, because it made me realize that it was also a good idea for me to do (or not do) too.

horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
really i shouldn't have, ankle is still bothered. i shouldn't do the 2hr walk coming up, 99% sure i will be skipping the outing...plus, we are due for a snow storm, so it will prob be canceled anyway!

snowstorm coming into Saturday, so most prob the outing is canceled, which is better for me, to rest at home, quiet weekend is def up my alley. :)

i'm glad you rested. resting is very beneficial at times. yes, it was hard to resist bc my leg workout is only 5-15 minutes long depending on how efficiently i do it. it's so tempting to just do it. i have been rolling my left leg on a muscle massager. will continue to massage it, etc. i would like to think that some of the annoyance of my leg is in my head, but i'm not sure...in general, i just want the inflammation to stop bothering me....will continue to not push...

but with sitting all day at work, i guess it is at least beneficial to massage it on the roller at home...get some blood moving at home that way.

bearcountrygg on 01/27/2022:
Please refresh my memory...what is cc for 100

horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
usually it's not cottage cheese, but whipped Cream Cheese. like 2 tbsp, just slightly under 100 but the wrap is slightly over 100. so i just estimate both at 100.

it's the Temptee pink design on the container. my favorite whipped cream cheese. i really do prefer it best.

Jacky82020 on 01/27/2022:
HoP, the other day I was looking at Becca’s post because the name is new. Saw someone told her (old post) there’s a “secret DD Facebook group where people can get to really get to know each other,” or something to that effect. Is there such a FB group? I have no interest in any FB group, just curious.

horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
i also don't have interest in groups for DD outside of DD because it's too much - always preferred one place, here, to connect with DD folks :)

Maria7 on 01/27/2022:
I do not think I could have resisted that chocolate in a box that someone offered me. You did better than I would have.

horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
coworker dropped a choc i do NOT want, opened pack, on my desk....an orange colored kit kat for halloween...may throw out and take a better chocolate at end of day from the box...hahaha

but either way Maria, you know from my entries that i am always eating chocolate, so it's less tempting to me when i know i have some all around :)

Jacky82020 on 01/27/2022:
Totally agree with you, HoP!

It had an unusual email: @ymail.com. Never heard of it, but apparently years ago ppl could choose between ymail.com or yahoo.com

horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
yeah, i figure leave DD where it's at! this site does the job just fine!

legcramps on 01/27/2022:
Uh oh, I hope I didn't influence your decision to workout with a brace on! I should have listened to my own advice as well with my ankle - if I didn't need to workout for my mental health, I probably wouldn't workout half as much as I do!

Horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
same, it's the mental health benefits (LOL - or lack thereof!) that keep me at it, too...no, def wasn't you that influenced my (poor) choice. but, it seems there's more time for resting on my part as i anticipate snow this weekend in opposition to the plans i had for a hike, which i'm not going to do either way. better to take it slow.

it's hard for people that enjoy the rewards of exercise to not exercise.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/27/2022:
PS you put it 100% in perspective in your comment...

bearcountrygg on 01/26/2022:
What kind of nut butter are you using now?

horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2022:
at work, i'm finishing something i had found, another fancy one, but healthy: Fix & Fogg Dark Chocolate nut butter. i found it at the supermarket a couple months ago. it's nice. will not necessarily buy again tho bc of the higher price. but it's a good one. soft, easy to scoop, a little separation of oil but not really...it's just a little more liquidy than nut butter usually is but is really nice on a spoon...LOL....i'm such a big foodie!

horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2022:
at home, i'm back to PB. store it on the fridge on top, out of the fridge, just on top, and it's warmer/softer up there, easy to scoop. liking in that way.

Donkey on 01/26/2022:
Why the need to work your lower body tonight? What harm would it be to rest the ankle a little longer?

horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2022:
yeah, i think you are right to just rest...i will def be taking your advice and not change my mind...point taken and will follow it.

Maria7 on 01/26/2022:
I had a banana today, too. Got one more in the fridge, then will need to get more. They are good, aren't they?

Horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2022:
yeah, i like them. i know they have the quick digesting sugars, but for some reason, i react very well overall from bananas. i just need to eat them with something else, or i have a quick sugar high and then low!

they are good. i have learned to eat them at all their coloring variations from just ripe to brown...because they change so fast and i'm not about to throw all my brown bananas away. :)

no cardio today. resting ankle. wearing stretchy brace which helps support it. doing some light, short time period, roller massage at home on my calves. taking it easy this week. maybe do a little light stretching at home, but going to relax tonight with bed early probably.

Breakfast: fresh, ripe banana 120, coffee 30, buttermilk french toast sticks 120 and nut butter 130. 400.

Snacking: Tbd leftover above and 2 tbsp choc nut butter healthy brand 200

Lunch: healthy: veggie salad with olive oil 150 /spices, leftover crab cake 200 from freezer with cocktail sauce, satisfying good amount of white rice 250..600..

Snacks: clementine maybe. 50

Dinner: 5% greek yogurt with cooked cranberry spread 200, cooked veggies 200, later 5 butter cookies 200. 600.

1850

no exercise today. i would def have done cardio if not for my weak left leg / left ankle. just resting up. relaxing extra on couch. glad i have a good, strong stretchy brace to wear around my ankle. have been wearing it mostly nonstop but will prob take a break tonight.

Donkey on 01/25/2022:
Rest sounds like the best idea ever (lol), especially since you were just saying yesterday that you wish you could do with another day or 2 off. I was surprised that you took a day off, but I'm so glad that you did. That's kind of the thinking I was using to go in late yesterday, because of the snow. Better to take a little time off for ourselves now, rather than to try to push it and end up worse off in the long run.

I hope you have a good day today! :-)

horn_of_plenty on 01/25/2022:
Exactly :-D It's still early in the winter, so i do not regret this day off...it seems i'll take it when i feel like taking it...and try to save a few to be paid up for those leftover come mid April :) I feel bad that i'm not doing cardio, same feelings as Legs when she cannot exercise, but if i rest now, better things are to come later :)

bearcountrygg on 01/25/2022:
Crab cakes sound so good....Love them. Rest that ankle.....have you tried an ace bandage??

horn_of_plenty on 01/25/2022:
yes, i'm wearing a stretchy bandage, a bit stronger than an ace bandage. it is good, providing extra support/stability around my ankle. it provides a false sense of security, so i know that i will not go walking, even tho it feels a little easier to walk with it on because it limits extra movements/makes it easier to walk with an injury.

horn_of_plenty on 01/25/2022:
it's a size small very thick/stretchy elastic...very similar to the ace bandage but requires no wrapping, just pulling it on and it stays very tight.

Maria7 on 01/25/2022:
Hope you feel better. Take care.

horn_of_plenty on 01/25/2022:
THANK YOU!!!

legcramps on 01/25/2022:
Hope you're having a good week, other than the ankle issue - which, with time, will heal!

I'm glad you mentioned in a comment to me that you're feeling extra sleepy lately too, with the weather. I was starting to think something was off for me, but I realize that all the snow we've been getting, less daylight hours, and very cold weather have added some stress into my life. Perspective!

horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2022:

1/24 Monday - I Stayed home, sick day #3 from work. last night felt really unwell, legs bothering me, stressed, realized i could take this day and feel better for it; instead of facing a long week feeling unwelll. glad i took today off. I was going to save all 8 remaining days until April, but even if i use a few, I can still be paid for the rest in April. Health is always more important than proving i can save all days or money. So i'm home today.

10:45am Breakfast: large buttermilk pancake 250, some jelly 50, peanut butter 150, coffee 50. 500. good.

12:45 snacks gummy vitamins x2 50, reg sour gummies 60

2:45 back from supermarket Snack:  2 mini "diet" chocolate cheesecakes, not as good as the ones not labeled diet, but satisfying. (small difference in ingredients) 100 ea x2 = 200.

4pm-5pm snack/meal remaining roasted brussel sprouts, roasted fully and tasty from yesterday. 200, roasted (with some oil therefore) delicata squash 150?, banana coffee shake in blender with a whole banana 150.

7:15pm during upper body only workout 3 clementines 150

(Lower body remains rested for now as i'm sore and feeling like i prefer / need rest)  Wearing ankle brace to help my left ankle that always gives out after added exercise/uncomfortable shoes. so that's what happened from 2 weeks ago, still healing. pretty sore, even slept in the brace as dad suggested.

8:30 almost done with workout / Late night snack: 2 chocolates 110 / spoon of pb 100

1660.

I read my book...in progress throughout day ...yes, Donkey it's the Brad pitt one....and yes, it's weird...a lot about fishing of which i cannot relate...but it's also about relationships, still at the beginning

Stopped by supermarket - bananas, lettuce for pigs, large single carrots, few other veggies - peppers, zucchini, eggplant, shallot or two; spinach for sauteeing;new container whipped cream cheese if they have the brand i like, new small package lox for extra protein, don't need any grains - have too many wraps at home;  mushrooms?, see if there's silkin tofu at this supermarket bc i don't think i checked here yet, DONE!

I also quickly got gas for my car and added cash to my laundry card. all close and easy with the supermarket.DONE!

very low-key day on couch. would prefer a few more days, but back to work i go tomorrow! :)

(so glad i dyed my roots last night).

Jacky82020 on 01/24/2022:
Are you familiar with the Thomas Gilbert homicide in Manhattan? 2015. His spoiled rotten entitled narcissistic son, 30, killed him to get his inheritance early. Book called: The Golden Boy, Murder Among the Manhattan Elite. Terrific true crime. Incredible how these people live. Very old family money. Jewish immigrants, (the grandparents or great grandparents) who changed their name to Gilbert, think it was Goldman.

I am reading the ebook from the Brooklyn Library. They sent a notice telling me to call ahead before coming in, keeping limited hours due to covid. LOL You think they’d know I am an out of state user who pays for the privilege & have no plans to drop by. Actually been reading ebooks only for years on the iPad so I can ride a stationary bike or use the treadmill.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:
no but that sounds scary as heck!? not sure i could read it and then not be scared as heck

bearcountrygg on 01/24/2022:

Jacky82020 on 01/24/2022:
Basically saying you must avoid local newspapers/TV news. That was a huge story covered nationally & internationally because it involved such old money socialites. High profile defense attorneys, guy in charge for a few years now works for Mick Jagger, Elon Musk & the like. Involved other Manhattan elites. Very interesting lifestyles. Feel sorry for the wife & mother. The victim was a wonderful man, shot dead by his greedy only son. The mother basically gave the son, 30, a pass, blaming it on feigned mental illness & failing to see he was a world class greedy ****.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:
lol are you saying because i don't know the case i avoid the papers and news??

anyways, i am shocked the mother gave the son a pass at killing the father.

crazy story. perhaps there are details we don't know.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:
maybe i did hear about it, but def do not remember it or remember hearing about it since!

Jacky82020 on 01/25/2022:
Exactly what I’m saying! That case was nearly the equivalent of the NYC mayor getting assassinated. & not that long ago. Murder in 2015 & trial in 2019. Went on for years while the defense tried to get the little bastard deemed unfit for trial & declared insane.

horn_of_plenty on 01/25/2022:

1900. Wishing to skip out on work tomorrow - almost at the point of doing so....

wishing that I  could take tomorrow off as my body feels a bit done in, but that's why I am resting today !

Read my book...yeah, a little bit :)

Laundry today DONE!

1 Make chopped veggie salad - tomatoes / cucumbers to eat on weekend/early next week with dark looking (that's the variety) tomatoes and mini english cucumbers still good, bought earlier this week was it? i believe it was after the weekend.  DONE!

2 make a ratatoille/sautee with vegggies in frige from last week (a green pepper, small zucchini squash, maybe tomato...see what else is in fridge...) DONE!...accidentally made pretty spicy, lol. DONE!

3 roasted brussel sprouts DONE!

4 lower body strength (might need to skip, left leg/ankle pretty sore, wearing a tight stretchy support brace)...dad recommneded i keep wearing it and laying low unil it gets better....truth is that i should have been doing this for over a week now! bad jackie! i had misplaced the brace, but now it's found and i'll try to do the right thing...- skipping lower body work until Tuesday

5 Later today; guinea pigs fleeces/laundry - did partial cleaning DONE !

6 Later PM Dye my roots - before evening shower

I'm going to lay low today, stay home....oh, YES!

(Christine may want to chat on phone, cannot do it for too long tho bc i need some time off/fully to myself before the work week begins tomorrow)...chatted with her coicidentally before she went out on a date! how exciting! :) i'm sure she'll let me know how it went, later..

1/24 Monday - rest day mostly; cardio on bike if i want at home (ankle week lately, may have to lay low on walking this week - back to wearing a stretchy brace, should have worn it to city yesterday bc the boots i bought are better than last time but more support with a brace would have been a better idea Saturday in the city/walking a bit after the show for a few hours actually)

stop by supermarket after work - bananas, lettuce for pigs, large single carrots, few other veggies - zucchini, eggplant, take a break from tomatoes, shallot or two; spinach for sauteeing;mushrooms?, see if there's silkin tofu at this supermarket bc i don't think i checked here yet, new container whipped cream cheese if they have the brand i like, new small package lox for extra protein, don't need any grains - have too many wraps at home - ;

1/25 Tues -

upper & lower body tonight :) - try to do both so they are both in sync again.

1/26 Wed

1/27 Thurs -

1/28 Fri

1/29 Saturday - Hopefully i do not cancel this volunteer session like all the other ones recently due to weather, etc! ;)

10am-12pm -  NYC Parks Stewardship - Paerdegat Park (Brooklyn)  - this one looks to be more of a walking tour! Never been to this park and hardly go into this area of Brooklyn so i'm looking forward to a change of pace. Meeting Location: Meeting at Ecology Park Gate - closest intersection is Bergen Avenue and Avenue T)  (We will be walking with people who identify 14 species of plants at  Albany Ave., E. 40 St. between Farragut Rd. and Foster Ave., Brooklyn.

Finally - roast the potatoes i bought two weeks ago, despite the fact that i have tons of rice at work already to eat this coming week. (i have a ton of wraps to eat at home, trying to make a dent in them!)

1/30 Sunday Home

1/31 Monday -

2/1 Tuesday - Welcome Februrary :) One month closer to Spring... :-D

2/21/22 Monday - President's Day Off - 3 day weekend ;)

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

Jacky82020 on 01/23/2022:
Do you have any Aldi stores in your area? Their little granola bars are pretty good. Going to compare the price of the six 100 cal bags of yogurt pretzels for $1.29 to other sources. Think their serving size is only 22 grams, and I NEVER eat one. Tiny little bags! So not sure how much these single servings help.

horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:
Actually I looked it up and there’s an aldi a few towns away ! Never realized there were any Aldis near me.

Donkey on 01/23/2022:
I have seen the movie (River Runs Through It) with Brad Pitt, but never read the book. It was a beautiful movie and won Oscars? Or Oscar nominations? I think the movie failed to capture the theme(s), but maybe I just missed it. I went with my grandparents so I have fond memories of the experience :-)

Laying low after yesterday's adventure sounds like a lovely idea to me! :-)

Donkey on 01/23/2022:
PS Today is leg day for me too, but I'm not sure if I'll make it to the gym today. I can do stuff at home, too.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/23/2022:
oh, by the way, there's a question you asked and i had forgotten to answer...or a comment you made - all these holidays are thanks to my being in a union and the "holidays" i have gotten like Martin Luther King and Presidents Day next month...are thanks to the contract agreements between the electrical union and the contractors that hire us....and still people in the union choose to vote against union supportive politicians. dumb. anyways, yes, it's the contract agreement. that's what's nice about working for a bigger organization (like being a teacher, healthcare, working in courts...there's more of the supportive umbrella).

Maria7 on 01/23/2022:
Vegetable salad sounds real good.

Horn_of_plenty on 01/23/2022:
yes, i must use and prep all my veggies that are waiting for me in the fridge :) after i put some clothes in the washers downstairs :)

Donkey on 01/23/2022:
Oh yes, I am definitely pro-union. :-)

bearcountrygg on 01/23/2022:
How as Aladdin?

horn_of_plenty on 01/23/2022:
Extremely well done :) :) :)

Donkey on 01/24/2022:
Might I suggest resting your ankle until Saturday? <:-) Just a thought, to allow it to fully recover.

horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:
This is a good suggestion and it’s what I should really do…

Maria7 on 01/24/2022:
Hope they have all your fresh foods today. Have a good day.

horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:
Heading out now :)

Horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2022:

Horn_of_plenty on 01/23/2022:
believe it or not, my bedroom is typically pretty warm...it's just due to bad habits of wanting to remain cuddled up in my covers in bed. No, i can't program the heat, but i do not pay fees for heat and keep my bedroom generally very warm.

Oh my goodness, you get a 3-day weekend in February too?? I'm so jealous! LOL...

I'm hoping to get to work early today too. Yesterday, I was about 15 minutes late. Doesn't matter too much because we're not busy and the Boss isn't there, but it's just not in my nature to be late.

horn_of_plenty on 01/21/2022:
did you get to work early? i didn't, but was on time.

Maria7 on 01/21/2022:
Your entry just reminded me that I have bananas in the fridge...think I will have one for a snack this morning. Wishing you a good day!

horn_of_plenty on 01/21/2022:

Donkey on 01/22/2022:
Are you cold in bed in the morning? Or are you warm in bed, and don't want to get out of it for a colder room? Are you able to program your heat to kick on at a certain time, so that it warms up your unit before it's time to get up?
