(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 113.0

9am breakfast: found this single serving mini cheesecake in my supermarket (i had been seeing it on amazon and couldn't believe it was being sold in my supermarket).  no crust on it. so, a mini marble cheesecake (small!) for 260 calories. with my pumpkin pie filling also 200 cal. and a black coffee.

kombucha 40

1pm lunch: a leftover, tasty, fried fish patty 200? on a wrap 150, with tortilla chips 250. 600.

snack blueberries 100

dinner popcorn, tofu with garlic 250

I was supposed to volunteer today but got a text this AM that it's cancelled which is fine. makes more time for me to lift weights and do my work. I have signed up instead to do an afternoon volunteer session tomorrow. i'll need to take public transportation unless i want a lot of trouble parking tomorrow.

...and Saturday i've signed up for a really nice walk that is lead by a nature leader (i cancelled the long volunteering i originally signed up for on Saturday when the nature walk leader told me she did in fact have a spot for me!) I had to pay $15 for the walk, but i expect to learn something and get great exercise, so it was worth it to me.

I was able to finish all of Week #4 work for my class tomorrow YESTERDAY I MEAN! So, i looked into how much reading  both weeks 5&6 are and they are significantly LESS! i may be able to finish the course by Sunday!  There is no 7th week course material, i have realized....so it ends after completion of week 6...

Before doing much today, i'm going to be studying my PMP app....i didn't do it last night as planned, so i will spend a little more time on it today...

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
Constructive day. I love how you have dessert for breakfast. I can do that!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/05/2020:
it's not as satisfying to me, but sure tastes good!!! while not working, seems anything is justifiable for breakfast!

Jacky82020 on 11/05/2020:
I saw a doc film on birdwatchers in Central Park. All kinds of wonderful species there!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/05/2020:
yes central park is wonderful! this walk isn't there, it's in Queens at another wonderful place called Alley Pond Park...i think?

Maria7 on 11/05/2020:
Nice breakfast with coffee!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/05/2020:
coffee seems mandatory for me with sweets like this.

bearcountrygg on 11/05/2020:
Well played HOP...2 desserts for breakfast!!! Yet...They were filled with lots of pumpkin, cheese, eggs......VERY well played.

DARRRRN...lost the photos of the bunny...will need to reload off my phone later! it's my own fault bc i had the DD diary entry open in my computer so when i pressed submit when i got home, i lost the photos...my fault.

walked by a pet store with parents and I went in for a minute to see the guinea pigs and bunny rabbits and he had so many of each!

doing some work, then off to parents to walk for the morning, then back home i think...DONE

did a couple errands on way home from parents DONE

I was able to finish the simpler of the two assignments due for week 4 in only a half hour...that's good....and i finished the longer assignment (with a little too many breaks i think) tonight. so, week 4 is DONE

i KNOW i need to spend time on the PM class...and probably i can start reading chapter 5 in my textbook already...working on this at 8:30pm....in progress

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/04/2020:
Enjoy your time with your folks - that sounds lovely!

horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
It was basically great !

grannyannie on 11/04/2020:

horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
Do you like small pets ?

Maria7 on 11/04/2020:
Bunny rabbits are so precious! That is so sweet that you and your parents had a nice walk together!

horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
It was a lovely walk :-)

Jacky82020 on 11/04/2020:
Adorable bunny! Bet they’d get along great with the pigs

horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
I think they do! But prob different cage arrangements. Thank wish I could get one but now isn’t the right time !

Maria7 on 11/04/2020:
A bunny rabbit's fur is SO SOFT. We have cats and their fur is very soft, too. Do you like cats for pets?

Horn_of_plenty on 11/05/2020:
i am not very into cats because i am nervous that their claws would tear up my furniture???

and yes, i don't think i've felt too many things softer than bunny fur!

Maria7 on 11/04/2020:
I am getting quite tempted to get into my pumpkin pie that is in the freezer awaiting Thanksgiving Day....

Horn_of_plenty on 11/05/2020:
close your eyes when reading my entry for today (didn't write it yet...)...crazy breakfast that includes you know what! haha

i will tell you, if you hold off till Thanksgiving, it will taste even better!

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 113.0

Breakfast: oats and raisins, almond milk and kombucha. 350...

snack: 2 cookies with whipped pb on top. 200, coffee? 50

1pm low carb bagel just ok 100cal, 3 servings whipped cream cheese 250, small piece lox 50, tortilla chips 250...650

2pm candies 150

3:30 during exercises tiny clementines 50

..snacky/"hangry" day over here!

5:30pm one of those small strawberry on the side and cheesecake filling things sold near the cheese/yogurt section i think it was? at the supermarket. ahhh, good! 200 cal. still, not as good as a cheesecake!..so i will prob not buy them again, it came in a pack of 2.spiked drink, only a little bit. 50.

7:30pm dinner: leftovers of the entire 2 heads of broccoli i cooked (i guess i ate a small head to myself yesterday and today!?) of the broccoli in garlic sauce (not bad) 150? and tofu 50. 200 here....and a white wrap 150.

8:30pm gummy worms to end night. with sugar. lol.

and my pumpkin pie without the crust is in the oven, hopefully it doesn't burn.

I was tempted to buy a cheesecake, which i will do probably in a week or so, since it was rather a good size (5 slices worth)....and was tempted to buy another pumpkin pie..because it was also a smaller one with 5 slices...but instead....i will make my own pumpkin part of the pumpkin pie (no crust)...going to use a recipe for the pumpkin filling in a pumpkin pie either today or tomorrow..i cannot wait to dig into it!

And we've made it, finally, to election day! ha!  Wishing for nothing crazy and peace!

It's still a little cold here, i may stay home the entire day for reading, studying...will update. Maybe a walk tonight, but, i have my inside equipment. Already was on bike during phone call for around 30min at least...in progress..and did some walking also, not much, like 20 min tops. DONE

I'm still reading the alt. dispute textbook and when i say it takes forever to read, i mean that! a lot of this chapter, arbitration, is on opinions and reviews of court cases on whether or not to arbitrate and what the results were so it's a little heavier readying right now because the cases started in trial court and keep getting overturned and changed in opinion as they go up thru the courts and it's not always the same decision...it's a lot of repetitiveness as well as back and forth on ideas...somewhat of a confusing chapter. (but it makes sense, it's just very detailed and specific per case, unlike any of the other 3 chapters preceeding it!)  and also, some parts of the case become arbitratable but other parts of the case need to go to court...pretty serious stuff here! Lots of precedents and early cases which decide how later cases will be managed...!..Reading textbook is DONE!

with the ADR reading of chapter 4, i'm now on my third day of reading (been reading the 80 pages and also need to read the online pages) before answering questions. i have a goal to be DONE reading by tomorrow so that i can finish Week #4 reading & questions by Thursday, latest!..(will start the questions tomorrow and hope to finish them tomorrow also if i can...)

...ok BLEW THRU the rest of chapter 4 reading....and 80 pages are DONE by 2:45pm!...now need to read the online materials...online reading is also DONE!

I also have a plan to do my weights this afternoon / evening....3pm weights now!...in progress! DONE!

PMP needs to be studied too, yesterday i did it in the morning only...i could def use more studying time on it today..with the app..still in Tips...I will move on from tips by the end of this week...later

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Jacky82020 on 11/03/2020:
Sounds like a plan. I voted by mail. Reading the early reports will be skewed due to when they’re counting absentee ballots. It’s gonna be a long long nite!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
i did mail in too! ohhh, thank gosh....so much better than waiting on those long lines!!!!!

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
Yes, finally election day! I've had dinner and started in on my snacks and beer. Ready for a long night. Hubby will go to bed but will check in the middle of the night.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
enjoy....i am snacking too but there's no way i could stay up all night! haha

Maria7 on 11/03/2020:
Sounds like you are having a good day over there!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
very...and tomorrow i'll see my "'rents!"

bearcountrygg on 11/03/2020:
Bagels and peanut butter are my kryptonite.....but lightly toasted....hmmmmm.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
i think i should try these combos with my low carb, 100 calorie only!, bagels!

Jacky82020 on 11/03/2020:
Love that combo! And with a little honey. Yep, toast the bagel

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
yep, sounds like a nice dessert / indulgent treat! yum! def always toasting the bagel.

Donkey on 11/04/2020:
Making the pumpkin pie filling (alone) is a lovely idea! I might look into that.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
and interestingly, you will NOT want to eat a ton. and even if you do, the calories are crazy LOW. very, very low. yup, even though you add a whole sweetened condensed milk, that's the only part of the recipe that has much calories. it all works out to be very healthy in the end!

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 113.0

I as actually mailed a check for severence pay from the job i haven't been working at for several months now.  it was for a week of pay, i think? but lots of taxes taken out so i am only seeing partial of what the real grand total was.  they paid me, as the check says, for a week, 10/22-10/28.  So i guess i will not collect unemployment in lieu of the check for this particular week (i believe you cannot collect both, duh!)...and the check is def the MUCH better option ;)

breakfast 8am: oats and raisins 300 with almond milk 50, and some coffee to finish later 50. 400.

snacks: none!

lunch: just before noon - a low carb bagel (they are OK, not great) 100 cal (that's great!) with my fave whipped cream cheese and extra extra of it 200cal, and a small amount of lox 50. 350...and i think chips?..pepperidge farm chessmen 160..510

gummies 60, some kombucha 50

5:30 ate a LOT of my broccoli that i cooked up in an asian recipe i found for Broccoli in garlic sauce. it was a little light on flavor, maybe bc i prob used more broccoli than the recipe called for so the sauce tasted lighter when not increasing the sauce recipe and only the broccoli. but it was good, not bad! so that's a start! 230 cals for lots of broccoli in garlic sauce :) followed by a large cup of blueberries that are actually perfectly fresh and were on sale...maybe i go back for more later this week bc i have a dispute on the price of...kombucha! ha 100

had some of a sparkling drink earlier 50, and a granola bar 120...maybe i should have some fat/protein whipped pb also, yeah 100. and pumpkin yogurt 150 :)

Now that the clocks are shifted (fall back), i was up a tad earlier and boyyyy did it feel good to see 7:30am on the clock and the sun warming me while i lay in bed!

I did some studying of the PM app before leaving at 9am to drive to volunteer. Parking was a little poor around there, i had to pay $2 to the meter for two hours parking...but it's so close the drive was only around 15-20 min and the bus would have been an hour (that's the reason i didn't take a bus today!)....still in progress studying...

The volunteering was fast, just 2 hours, so i was back home just before noon and in time for lunch and to study / read my class textbook for paralegal on the couch. It's freezing (high 30's only!) and windy today (with sun!) so i'll be staying inside for the rest of today.  It's too chilly and windy to want to spend any time outdoors. It will be in 60's later this week, though! DONE

more studying of PMP tonight, no matter what (i did some this AM, like 20min worth):

I think i'm going to have to force some cardio, i'll do a half hour on the bike, while watching tv later tonight:

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
Your goal is 112? Seems to me you must have the physique of a fitness model!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
i'm around 5'1 1/2" so pretty sure. my upper body is pretty fit but i'm lower isn't that strong due to so many injuries in the past and the fact i'm on the couch a lot not working atm. but overall, i look OK! not pin thin or anything.

bearcountrygg on 11/02/2020:
Sounds like you are finally ready to get our weather! Sending some snow your way soon....LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Aha, we see your face!

horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
Excuse the dry skin on my chin!

Maria7 on 11/02/2020:
You are gorgeous! Perfect teeth! Now we know what you look like!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
awww thanks! when i was in high school, i had braces for a couple years thanks for my parents :)

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
Haha! Great pic and love the cuddly pig. Been learning about Kombucha. Walmart has GT, $3 a bottle. Will add a few to my Friday pickup order. The SCOBY looks ghastly! Suppose only to be expected from a fungal bacteria mix. I mean it’s downright creepy, deserves its own horror film. Maybe a remake of The Blob. Found some copycat recipes. Pain in the ass! And I am lazy in such matters. Some bad side effects linked to home brews, given it takes days at room temp. Seems like bad fungi and bacterial jumping in with the good guys.

See GT is biggest company, but Coors and Pepsi have their own out. Wonder if the Coors is higher in alcohol contesnt.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
wow...Coors has kombucha now!?

also, yeah, $3 is def a decent price.

you can stick with half a bottle, that will also save you money...a serving is in fact half a bottle.

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
That’s a calico pig!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
oh! that's for teaching me. i think in guinea pig land, it's popular for them to be tricolor! both my pigs are calicos!

bearcountrygg on 11/02/2020:
Hey Pretty Lady!!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
hello BCGG xoxo

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
Made it that up! No idea if they call pigs of that coloration calico But looks like one! Lol Beautiful animal!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
i know, but, it makes sense to call it that, with 3 colors!!!!

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
You are exactly the same height as me! But I will say 5’2” sometimes. Once I didn’t what to see a BMI over 25 at the PCP’s, so I put foam makeup pads in my shoes and added almost an inch. They never noticed I was suddenly taller. Lol. Probably thought, if they thought anything, it was the shoes. And I was under 125. Only playing around. Under 125 for reals now.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
OMG that is hilarious with that...they didn't make you take your shoes off? haha. i guess you can also put them in your socks! that's hilarious!

sometimes they really don't pay attention when they are measuring height or weight...it's like it's whatever they choose the number to be! i've had them take lbs off for clothing too! haha

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
No, they don’t ask about the shoes, however I usually take them off to shed a pound or so. Doubt the Nike’s weigh much. It’s my guess he won’t notice in Feb or whenever my next routine appointment is that I will be down a lot. I want to be as skinny as you!!! Have the goal at 110 because I bounce around a few pounds regardless of Cals.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
i hope he will notice, if not he's a horrible doctor! lol

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
i think if i had more muscle in my legs, i'd weigh a couple pounds more. but i don't have much muscle there.

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
How much does the pig weigh? Pretty thing!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
the pigs are around 2.5lbs each ...i remember i weighted them with me on the scale when i got them (they were full grown when i adopted them) last November! i've had them just under one year :) they are around 3 1/2 years old now!

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
Have you posted a photo before? Because I looked at this one and thought, yea, that's HOP. Nice.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
YES, i have posted some other photos and yes that must be how you remember, Annie! :)

horn_of_plenty - Sunday Nov 01, 2020
(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 113.0

9am breakfast: a mini pumpkin pie. it was great, but, too much crust. It had the crust on top which makes it too rich for my liking. I like the pumpkin in the pumpkin pie! I want to taste that more! anyways, it was good, it was by The Bakery. It's a very cheap brand that makes great mini pies that are sold in the bakery section of supermarkets.  I think the calories are inaccurate...anyways, i had that and a small coffee. total cals 450. I will go out walking soon, before the rain rolls in.

11:45 snack after hour walk, probably around 3 miles. def felt it after not walking for days over here! :) candy, haribo berries. 2 servings just about 200. and some of my light alcoholic rose beverage. 250 total.

1:30pm lunch: bought these low carb bagels (will eat them, they are OK!, but will prob not buy again..) i think i am no longer into keto at all! anyways, each bagel is a low 100 cals for a regular size bagel! cool! (due to very fibrous ingredients and puffy wheat gluten), with ample cream cheese to make it taste good 160, and small piece of salmon (little dry and not fresh tasting ugh!) 50. 310...and popcorn 200. 510..and some kombucha 50

4:30pm snack cookies 140

6pm dinner: some roasted squash, not much, 100?, leftover wanton soup with 3 wantons that i bought all the way last Monday haha..it seems i made good use of the soup, at least. (veggie dish was disgusting). 350?  450 total...not full or satisfied. i'll just relax for a bit though, it's so early still...

2050 total

Thanks again to Donkey who let me know that the CTRL F works for word documents...she helped me greatly yesterday find the Einstein answer.

Hi! Happy November! All Saints Day, I believe!?  ...I will write more later, just getting started. Daylight savings time makes it 9am, not 10am. I def took my time getting out of bed but i'm SO HAPPY that we have the extra hour.  I will try to GET UP EARLIER with the extra hour added...this would help me when i go back to work to get up early...

I am not going to the Farm today, skipping the last day today, because it's supposed to rain like 100% of the time I would be there. No need to get sick working in the cold rain...So, instead, I have extra time to do weights today as well as get outside to walk during the morning when it is NOT raining. I haven't walked outside in days due to constant rain.

Hour Walk to get to a park, then Outside the perimeter of the park that is very large, then back home. :) a good 3 miles which i haven't done in awhile!  DONE

The rain is rolling in, so i'll be home for the rest of today, for sure. DONE!!!!!!!!

I'm online studying Week #4 online notes for my ADR dispute resolution course. I will not be doing written work for the course just yet because i have the online reading to do as well as 80 pages of textbook to read...in progress - decided to read textbook first, not online notes..i want to see how much of chapter 4 i can finish today. The faster i finish my reading, the faster i can answer the week 4 assignments.

I will continue to use my phone app to study the PM test, the section i'm on is stil TIPS bc it's a long section...later ronight...

Weights in PM...starting now at 3pm in progress...

Nice quiet day, friend called me,mostly with some questions / asking for my input, but i didn't stay on phone long.

I'm enjoying the quiet day all to myself.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I have an "easier" volunteer session to do. It's only 2 hours so that leaves me more of the day to be productive with my "own matters." of which i'm sure will be relatively the same as today's matters! ha! all good things.

there's one paralegal job i'm going to apply for after my weights session and before today's end...it's the Queens, NY (my county) District Attorney's office - hiring paralegals.  I will def apply to that, although i think i am 90% going to be back working for a union company by December.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/01/2020:
I've never heard of a pumpkin pie with an upper crust! That's different! I think I would have removed it. Ha ha, I say that but in reality, I love top and bottom crusts.

Yes, today is All Saints' Day - normally a day of Holy Obligation, but since it's on a Sunday, regular Mass takes care of that, because Mass is an Obligation in itself.

Probably a good idea to rearrange your farm schedule, if you are expected to get rain today.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
yeah, it took away from the pumpkin taste. too much pie crust and it IS HARD to just throw away the top crust!, although it was good.

thanks again for your help on my assignment(S)!!!

grannyannie on 11/01/2020:
We are now back to 5 hours difference with the east.

My sister is catholic and the archdiocese where she lives asked if there were any who died of Covid that they would add prayers for. So she added my son.

Not a fan of pumpkin pie (love pumpkin bread, or boiled pumpkin) but always loved my granny's apple or cherry pies.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
that's so thoughtful she will have prayers said for your son :)

i just love pumpkin pie. especially the filling. i'll have to make some of it myself ...maybe this week??

bearcountrygg on 11/01/2020:
Like Donkey..I have never seen a pumpkin pie with a top crust......I like the crust a little too much...i don't think I have ever met a carb I didn't like...LOL

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
yeah, i really don't want those carbs on top...i may try a recipe to make my own "pumpkin pie filling only!" so that i can eat the pie filling like a pudding at home, and homemade!

next, the einstein answer was soooo not necessary to ask for a test question! it's rather minor in comparison to just about anything else i read on mediation. Def an example of a teacher giving her student's a "needle in a haystack" question! ugh!

Jacky82020 on 11/01/2020:
Never heard of upper crust on P pie either. Bet a Dutch Apple type crust would be good

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
seems this company, The Bakery, makes a whole list of pies including apple and cherry (with crusts on top as well). there was a review of 3 of the pies i saw on YouTube and the review basically said they enjoyed these pies as well. They are around 50 cents to $1.50 each...very doable.

Maria7 on 11/01/2020:
You are VERY SMART!!! Keep up the good work studying. It has been raining here this morning, too. Pumpkin pie is my favorite!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
haha...sometimes i do not make good choices but i think, for the most part, i've gotten better with my own choices when in complicated situations. i think experience has helped me with that...

pumpkin pie is a fave of mine too. never tried a sweet potato pie and i'm tempted.

Jacky82020 on 11/01/2020:
HoP, I am going to have to read up on kombucha Never tried it Some of the “fasting” diets are big on it Any suggestions?

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
oh yeah...the GT's brand is the best brand in my opinion.. I have tried a huge majority of all the brands and flavors. Been drinking it def over 10 years. there's the regular hot tea kombucha, i think?, but i am drinking the cold one that comes in glass bottles and is usually flavored.

There's an "original" flavor by GT's that is Good. that's the most basic one around, tastes like a slightly sweet beer. very low calorie also. 30 cal per cup or so. the other flavor by them that's been good since it came out is Trilogy flavor. It looks like a pinkish flavor and very strong bite flavor, a tad sweet. just an overall great flavor, acquired taste. being that you manage to drink pickle juice, i'm guessing you would have the acquired taste buds to enjoy most kombucha flavors.

the only flavors i can't do are the big ginger/gingerade and related flavors as well as "hot" or spicy flavors. i like that the drink is sweet and don't care to make it too gingery, spicy or hot...

there are other brands, if you see them, so feel free to ask.

it's a probiotic so you don't want to drink more than half a bottle up to a bottle. you may want to start with half a bottle bc it could have TOO MUCH of a diarhetic effect and your body needs time, sometimes, to get used to it.

i like drinking them first thing in the morning (when i was working) instead of food and then i'd eat when i eventually got to work (2 hours later).

now that i'm home, i don't drink them as often. they are quite expensive. but i haven't dropped them altogether.

i'm thinking to have lemon water in the mornings instead of kombucha. that's a money-saver possibility for me, that i sweeten with stevia!

haha, thanks for asking! love spreading my "experience expertise!"

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
i don't see it help with fasting bc it's just sugar. it's not a lot of sugar...but there's nothing "satisfying" with it except the nice carbonation and light sweetness. you drink it in "sips" so it can lat awhile. that's why i love it....a drink while i relax or get up and listen to some news / go online in the morning

Jacky82020 on 11/01/2020:

I could use some diarrhea! Lol. Chronically constipated. Only ok if I work out for hours. Then I poop like a normal person.

Have you ever brewed your own? I saw a few recipes. Reminds me of when I had sour dough starter in the fridge for years.

Will try the ones you like & may consider making some further down the road.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
yes i think it's a similar concept where you need a "starter" to make it grow or something like that. i heard / read it can be a lot of bottles that needs to be refrigerated. i decided not to look into it further for now...but i'd save tons if i made it myself. might need an extra small fridge if i make it myself. not sure.

Jacky82020 on 11/01/2020:
JFC! I found a GT one on Amazon for $104 for a case of 12! What do you pay? At that price, I’ll buy champagne

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
a good deal is $3 or less per bottle. $4 is considered highest price i'll pay. any more than that and it's highway robbery! (or NYC - as in Manhattan - kombucha prices!)

Donkey on 11/02/2020:
Definitely apply for the paralegal job!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
yes, i did. i think preference is for those with experience, but i did apply :)

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
This post that appears today seems like yesterday’s! Good luck on that job! You are smart & ambitious and will be a great asset to any law firm

I will continue looking into kombucha today. Thanks again.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
it is yesterday's haha...i just added on.

legcramps on 11/02/2020:
I don't think i've ever tried a pumpkin pie that had a top crust on it. Interesting!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
yeah, who wants crust on top of a pumpkin pie!? lol

horn_of_plenty - Saturday Oct 31, 2020
(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 113.0

went out on a somewhat of a splurge food shopping. Got the good whipped cream cheese:

Now sure why it uploaded sideways, but that's my fave whipped

cream cheese!

9am nice breakfast: small bagel 120 with cream cheese (store brand not as good, i keep forgetting this!) 50, coffee 30...kombucha 60

small snack, jellly beans regular not sugar free small halloween treat size 30

1:30pm lunch: last bit of my ratatoille 200? at most, chips 200...400...fiber one large soft choco chip cookie so good! 130

3-3:30 ate my nasty last bits of the Chinese food and threw out the rest (too disguting, too many different mushrooms without other veggies, not good), a medium apple, popcorn. 200 approx.

dinner: used a $5 off $10 for "halloween!" which is how Seamless app advertised the coupon for poke bowl.  the tuna i ordered spicy in a sauce ...350? not too many other sauces...some wanton crisps though 100?..soybeans too 100? and some other things 50.600-650. followed by Haribo candy 2 servings of a bag i bought while at the supermarket of those slightly gummy berries with harder outsides. 250.900.

Been craving fries...but i have so much food that it makes not too much sense to go out to buy things today...so prob not doing any purchasing today.

I have signed up for more volunteering, up to 2x per week, because it is pretty physical and tiring and i have my own work to do at home, etc, aside from volunteering (which feels great to do).  I get a "high" similar to a workout high from volunteering.

it was in the 30's (F) thru morning temps, very chilly for end of October but sunny. So i'm home most of today. No laundry bc a lot of people are in lobby volunteering to make sure no trick or treaters come to the building as it's "cancelled" this year in my building - and i don't want to constantly run into people - and laundry is also pretty minimal, still. :D

I may cook a broccoli today...maybe broccoli and tofu combo, actually, since i have tofu and that would make some good eats, don't you think!?

Talked on phone with french friend and good friend at same time, they met each other today online, for ...too long! haha...we spoke for literally like 3 hours...some parts i was just listening because one friend was explaining some internet stuff to the other. DONE

Around 2pm i'm back to doing my own thing.DONE

Before the phone call started, 10am, I was able to get some writing and work done for the alt dispute resolution / mediation course. that was time very well spent - the time between 9:30am-10am!!! :) DONE

2pm - i'm on a "hunt" to find the word Einstein - written ONLY ONE TIME - in 200 pages of material. i've searched yesterday by scanning the pages thru and unforunately i'm going to have to search it all over again...not my happiest hour...!..i could guess the answer to the Einstein question (and already tried a thousand google searches...and i know it's about problem solving and asking all the questions...but i want to see that sentence again and quote it in my answer...hopefully i find it well before 3pm! DONE (finsihed MUCH later than 3pm, wasted a lot of time, Donkey helped me with the tip of using Control "F" in a microsoft word document! thank gosh.

i did leg exercises already while on the "friend call"DONE

no doubt i'm also going to study PM app...in progress

lastly, i will attempt a walk outside in the cold - but not gonna force it if i change my mind and may just use stepper for half hour / bike indoors.

tomorrow i'm onto Week 4 out of 7 of my online ADR  paralegal course. i'll be reading the online material and possibily also copying/pasting it into a word doc in case i will need to use CTRL F again to find something! (thank you, Donkey!!)

Skipping farm tomororw due to rain (i don't need to work outdoors in the chilly rain)...and signed up to do a shorter volunteering session on Monday to make up for being home Sunday..

Tomorrow i have weights and more work to do at home.  I will possibly try to get outside and walk in the morning before the rain rolls in!

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Donkey on 10/31/2020:
Happy Halloween!

Store brand - as opposed to name brand? Or do you have a special deli to get your cream cheese? (I love cream cheese - I'm not sure why I don't eat more of it!)

Are you planning to do anything for Halloween? Carve a pumpkin perhaps? We are not passing out candy this year :-(

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
There's the Breakstone brand that makes the "Temp Tee" containers of whipped cream cheese in their pinkish containers. I love that whipped cream cheese and it would always be bought to accompany bagels for birthdays and other school / activity / work breakfasts. It was fluffier and richer tasting than other whipped cream cheeses. the store brand of this whipped cream cheese (packaged, non name brand i mean!) is slightly more moist / watery and not as fluffy or tasty in the least...i would throw this cream cheese away before finishing it. it will prob not get finished as i don't really like it - that's how different it is from the Temp Tee whipped cream cheese.....

cream cheese can be high cal...it's good you don't have more lol.

no, staying home on purpose for halloween bc the weather isn't so great. it is sunny but rather cold. i may take a walk later, but, would rather not run into everyone - another reason to stay home today.

i have some good work to do :)

grannyannie on 10/31/2020:
Yum I love real bagels with cream cheese. Can't get any real ones in my area. :(

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
although, these were older supermarket mini bagels and cream cheese wasn't a name brand (there's a very specific brand i love and this is not the first time that i forgot there's a BIG difference in the taste of different whipped cream cheeses!) haha, i'm such a foodie....

Maria7 on 10/31/2020:
We love our coffee, don't we? I drink mine black now.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
i have been doing a lot of black, mostly when i'm having it after lunch...

in the mornings, i'm still putting some almond milk in, but i realize it's tasty by itself (as long as i add stevia!)

coffee's always nice. i don't have any tolerance to it though...and the caffeine tends to hit me quick.

bearcountrygg on 10/31/2020:
Happy Halloween!.......Oh the Einstein question......what a puzzle.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
oh yes!

bearcountrygg on 10/31/2020:
Is it...If he had 1 hour to solve a problem and his life depended on the solution...he would spend 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask and then 5 minutes or less to solve the problem.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
i wish it were that easy...here's what i found:

Another useful ploy to break an impasse is to ask "Einstein" questions. What do you want to happen? What can both agree on? How would each put the other sides' case? What will you do if you fail to reach an agreement? What will it cost? What do you think is fair? What if...?

the above is the quote from the class articles i had to read online. turns out the quote was in the online articles, not the textbook!

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
it simply means that when there's a disagreement which is hard to break between the negotiating parties, ask questions that will get the disputing parties back on the same page so that the negotiation can be successful...LOL.

Jacky82020 on 11/01/2020:
Whipped cream cheese sounds delicious I liked whipped yogurt Tried whipping my own. Spun a powerful mixer forever and it doesn’t work. They must be using additives.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
i think there might be something you can use to help make your yogurt whipped, i'll share it later with you!! (but need to do research before making sure it would work before buying...)

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 113.0

7:45 am quick breakfast: warm cereal with small walnuts and my raisins, some quick black coffee 300

morning snacks: mounds small bars 200

2pm snacks jelly beans 70, sugar free gummies 80, coffee

3pm wanton soup (two smallish wantons) and the broth and some pork pieces 300.

4:30 - 5:15 small ice cream 100 and some gum...apple 100

light dinner: crackers 150, ratatoille so good. 200. extra broth.

9pm white chocolates, 150, half a spiked seltzer from yesterday 50. 200.

gonna use my PM app to study now, 10pm, for at least 15-20 minutes and that's enough for today...in progress..

Today i volunteered from 8:30am until around 12:30pm  at a food pantry but outdoors. it was very cold and rainy and my feet got very soaked and cold. they did have hand warmers thankfully...yes, they did! but i got them sorta late in the game. but then i kept using them and put them also in my wet shoes...they helped a bit.  DONE!

It feels good to volunteer and I was pretty busy despite it being around 40F and raining.  there were tents up. so it was worth it. i got home and took a HOT shower. i don't think i'll get sick...i can rest up now :)...

it was also good exercise / standing. later i'll do my leg workout perhaps and maybe some bike.  (seriously, when i'm home i'm...ON THE COUCH! so, i'm not kidding that volunteering is really, really good for me....

i still have lots of food, i don't need to cook today at all. yeah!...although i do have a broccoli that would be terrible if spoiled...will cook that broccoli soon ;) prob cook it on Sunday.

I'll be studying my Paralegal ADR - answering some questions, maybe all...in progress in part 1, week 3 of questions due.  there's 3 different parts (tests) for week 3...finished 1 test, the other is almost done but struggling to find an exact answer bc it's very specific and mentioned one time in around 200 pages of reading material...when i find the answer i'll be done with two tests, and the other i'll finish tomorrow... :) done for now.

then i do have to go back to studying PM for the test...yes, i tend to put this last and don't always do it. and yes, that's not the brightest thing to do. but at least i'm being productive with both options i am going for :) (PM Test and paralegal class)....in progress.

In a week or so, i'll take some practice PM tests and see where i'm at and if i should schedule a test (it's done at home over the internet with someone watching me thru my laptop camera)...for late november. but we'll see. it's around $500 for each time i take the test so i'm not just gonna blow it without some thought.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
Good for you volunteering again!

Horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2020:
it was fun, fingers crossed i don't get sick bc i was it in very wet sneakers in cold weather for several hours! oops! i am nice and warm at home now!

bearcountrygg on 10/30/2020:
You are really enjoying all the volunteering...sounds like fun!

Horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2020:
It was good today. less veggies - or actually, i don't even know everything that was given out because i was told to give out the beef and chicken only and stay there for the whole time LOL. a very different (but good) experience from the other times. Every time i have volunteered so far it's at a different location and organization. It's good to see how they compare and how they are different. Learning experiences. Also, i always learn about the volunteers and i'm always intrigued by who i meet. Today was a young (50?) retired lawyer who owned his own firm (must be pretty rich to be retired and be rather young looking). next, i met the other two volunteers, two pre-med students. so they were MUCH younger than me and one i could tell has a LOT to learn. ...but really good folks.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2020:
a lot to learn in terms of common sense! LOL

I'm fnishing a long chapter in my ADR paralegal book...hope to start answering questions on it today...IN PROGRESS, will def finish the chapter today :) (chapter is almost 100 pages long!)..at 9:30pm i still have a ton of reading left but i'm gonna to try to finish it all in ONE HOUR...took over an hour, but DONE

I will be using my app to finish the Tips session for PM test....last task today...

May go out to drop off bike that i sold, but it's really scheduled for Friday...so, we'll see if buyer wants it early today...I asked him if he wants it today (bc i am sorta bored being home...) DONE!!! it was a one gear, 26", male design for riding, painted fully black, thick tires and no rust at all...sold for 100 bucks.

I (might) wash the guinea pig fleeces but no other laundry bc most of my clothes are clean still.

I have a bit of leftovers so there's no need to cook today.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Rainy here as well and chilly. Makes you want to stay in bed, but I'm married to a morning person.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
it's good you have a morning person to motivate you :)

i've found it's good to live with someone bc you (hopefully) both motivate each other on things and can lead to less laziness / more moving around thru the day. (ah, my opinion!)

legcramps on 10/29/2020:
The weather has been a little dreary here too. I definitely have been noticing that I want to stay in bed later in the mornings as it is not light outside when I wake up anymore!

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
yes, we've had about 2 weeks of mist, fog, rain! it makes you want to stay inside, for sure! and right now, i'm feeling really relaxed on my couch, trying to read and not fall asleep, so i guess the weather is to my advantage! ha!

Maria7 on 10/29/2020:
I know you are glad to have the day off from cooking. Smile.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
haha...correct ;)

Donkey on 10/30/2020:
You did quite well, for staying indoors all day long :-)

Horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2020:
haha i did skip out to drop off the bike to the buyer! (yeah, i sold bike #2 for my cousin!) no more bikes to sell now!

Maria7 on 10/30/2020:
Hope you are having a good day.

I am with family most of today. Slept in really late, so less time to do anything other than some reading and breakfast before I go see them (that's ok).   Hopefully we can walk in afternoon but if I really want exercise I may just head on my stepper tonight or bike while watching tv ...rainy day and I am reading anyway.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Raining here too! Snow predicted for later in week.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
It's been a rainy second half of October!

Donkey on 10/29/2020:
I hope you had a good time with family.

There will be days alone to read and study and write - especially if your weather is changing soon.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
Hi Donkey! To answer your previous questions - the jelly beans are regular not sugar free and they are packed in very small packs (less than 10 or maybe about 10 beans at most!) of 30cal each. very small packs that were sold as halloween candy to give out. that's the reason for the small servings. and i do love small servings! Lately, i'm all in for the real sugar and not doing any keto stuff at all - although, i'd love to make myself some keto cheesecake or brownies but not really set to buy everything right now (just not so motivated due to lots of leftovers, etc).

I'm not really on track to take the test, but i will soon decide on a date and take it. it may even be in November if possible. My test will change when january hits, so any tests I take must be done before January because i will not be familiar with the new test as much as this older style.

8:45 chocolates 150

phone app for PM test...TOMORROW, i'll start with this...after dinner...in progress...

Studying / writing for ADR class Week 3 assignments (still the course is only in week 1, but there are also a couple other studies working in advance of the due dates)....It's a short class that is only just under 7 weeks, so, when it's over, I will not be taking another class until January.  That's why it's nice to get the course done fast - I'll have a longer break before the next one starts (and a good possibility I will be back to work as well). ..in progress...will read a little more...DONE

walk or bike ride? or stepper/indoor bike, leg strength.....DONE!

porbably cook ratatoille so I have it to eat all week....and cooked some roasted squash....and cooked some garlic bread (leftover i had from a previous meal, kept the bread in my fridge)...DONE!

Tomorrow i'll visit family - I'll be there for lunch and dinner...hopefully some walking and relaxation. Maybe studying at their house, not sure.

Thursday I'm home / rainy day..will do weights on Thursday.

Friday: October 30th I signed up for some outdoor Volunteering that I think i'll drive to, not sure about public transportation, looks like there should be a few spots there...for FRIDAY :)

Saturday (Halloween) I think i'm home mostly...

Sunday is the last day of Volunteering at Queens County Farm.. :)

Next week is mostly up in the air right now, with another Volunteering day next Saturday, November 7th, which i'll prob take the train to go to bc parking isn't good and the train is close by and a great option (and it's a quiet saturday so bus/train will not be packed!).  I wanted to volunteer with Nov. 3 elections but haven't heard anything so I doubt I'll be assigned anything...I really don't care too much if it works out or not.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 10/27/2020:
Have a great day!

Horn_of_plenty on 10/27/2020:
YOU TOO...i have a lot of time to get things done!

bearcountrygg on 10/27/2020:
Bananas are popular around here right now too.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/27/2020:
i had to put the two i didn't eat in the fridge...they were nice and cool but also not soft thankfully :) perfect in my cereal, but they don't really satisify me for long!...but the health benefits are good :)

Donkey on 10/28/2020:
