Horn_of_plenty on 09/16/2020:

i hope you have a good day too!

grannyannie on 09/16/2020:
Very constructive. I wanted to walk today but the weather stayed yuck.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/16/2020:
I became uninterested in even stepping out of my apartment!...i just want to do my work...and it was cold so i said no to a bike ride and a walk sounded uninteresting (i was uninspired)...so tv show and my indoor bike worked great...i might do this tomorrow also!

Busy week. Hope you enjoy it.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/15/2020:
Thanks Annie...i'm exciting to complete the course! oh yeah!

bearcountrygg on 09/15/2020:
Looks like classes are nearing the end...are you happy to get them done?

Horn_of_plenty on 09/15/2020:
YES YES YES!

I have something else i have to delve into which will be a little HARDER...studying for the national Project Management Professional exam. I'm very nervous about it because I would say I am not really at the level that others are who choose to take it...this will be a hard task...and i still may not even pass it...but i will try. I will take it in either November or December and try it 2-3 times if I have to! it's $500 every time!

Maria7 on 09/15/2020:
It was wonderful here this morning...66 (cool for us)...felt like fall in the air, my favorite season! LOVE IT!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/15/2020:
yes, it felt so cool compared to the past few days! A first in terms of the cool temps and new lows we are reaching as we delve into Fall :)

Maria7 on 09/15/2020:
Looks like we will get some rain from Hurricane Sally later this week.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/15/2020:
yes, i've been hearing there's a number of storms out there coming thru!...i hope it's only rain!

Donkey on 09/15/2020:
You can do this, you're in the homestretch! Woot, woot!

The mornings have been cooler, but the days warm up. In fact, Monday-Wednesday (tomorrow, with tomorrow being the warmest) have been quite warm on my afternoon walks. However, after that, the high temperatures won't be so high. I think Wednesday will be the last high of 79F. After that, the highs are in the 60s, and I"m OK with that. Lows will be in the 40's, and it might be time to turn on the furnace. I try very hard to wait until October to do so.

I'm wearing my Springtime pajamas this week. I'll probably make the switch to winter on Friday.

horn_of_plenty on 09/15/2020:
It got so chilly sooo fast ! I ended up putting the heat on for the pigs and myself overnight (heat is included in rent and is a set amount no matter how much or little it’s used)

Last evening i just couldn't get myself to Finish the Test 5 at all...so i'm doing it now, 12:30pm Monday, and my goal is def to finish it by around 1:30 today...(taking a long time, lots of analysis and research can't do it quickly as planned!)

My mom stopped by bc she had to come to the area for something else and I was able to take a half hour walk with her. ran into ricky with my mom - hadn't seen him / spoke to him since August 15! I just looked back to see...ONE MONTH ALREADY!  cheers to ending a relationship that wasn't working anymore.

Laundry was all done on the weekend including the fleeces for my guinnies. so happy about that!

will be skipping weights today to get back on track with my work and also give my body a little rest and i'm not feeling energized today and prefer to wait to do weights tomorrow (unless i change my mind...)

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Monday:

  • VERY DIFFICULT, much research needed: Finish Part 2 of Test 5 Finish Monday...just didn't have the zeal to get it done on Sunday after the farm. was sleepy and not able to focus - starting around 12:30pm Monday. didn't work during the morning, but did get half hour walk in.had a couple interruptions of decent phone calls...but this project is taking well over 4 hours to do!...it's very important i get it right because this info will be used for my final memo project for this class!!!!.It took all day.....  DONE!
  • So really i just need to do my work today...and perhaps around 4pm watch Judge Judy and ride indoor bike           DONE!

Maria7 on 09/14/2020:
What do you do at the farm? This sounds interesting.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/14/2020:
At the farm, we are mostly either picking fruit/veggies or weeding around them! Sometimes we also lay paper / fabric around the plants so weeds do not have a chance to grow!

Yesterday was a full 3 hours of lots of weeding! We weeded around pepper plants, scallions (green onions!), and broccoli. In all instances, the weeds had really fully grown around the plants and it was just a lot of pulling weeds out of the ground.

I always seem to get drained after...but i love being there and partaking in the experience VERY much!!!

bearcountrygg on 09/14/2020:
I love to hear that you are spending time with your Mom!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/14/2020:
was a nice walk...ended up accidentally running into Ricky! just waved but didn't stop to talk because i don't owe him any of my time after how he's treated me before we stopped talking around 4-6 weeks ago!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/14/2020:

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 09/13/2020:
It was an oatmeal kind of morning for me too!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
i'm STILL eating mine cold! hahaha...no cooking of the oats! i just like to be able to chew them a bit more ... weird preference thing i started during COVID. hard to explain but i like it that way (for now) while it's not cold out here yet.

Donkey on 09/13/2020:
Oatmeal works for me during the week, so on weekends, I switch it up (usually).

Remind me again - what is "BB"? Is that a book or a type of assignment? Is BB extra credit?

It's so exciting to see you coming into the homestretch with your paralegal studies! I'm so amazed at what you've been able to accomplish and maintain during COVID.

Have fun at the farm!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
oh..!

"BB" just means "Bulletin Board" and the Instructor has us call the assignments "BB#" for whatever week it's for. we have to "post them" as replies to his original post...kind of like we all reply here actually! they are also not as long (usually) as the tests and they are not worth as much towards our final grades which upsets me when i spend LOTS of time on them! haha! no, it's not extra credit. there's a few different types of activities we have to do for grades and BB assignments are one of them, along with Tests, Research projects on Westlaw & one main writing memo this half of the course.

It's amazing to be finishing up!

i was going to take another paralegal type of course starting when this is done but now i see i have to study first for the national project management test...so, i will not think about taking anymore courses this year after i finish this paralegal course and just be studying (a LOT!) i may not even pass the first time...but i will be trying the national exam. it requires a LOT of studying of things that don't come naturally to me as they do to people who can memorize a little better than me lol. oh well!

Jacky82020 on 09/13/2020:
When will you be done, HoP?

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
as of now...I'm in the same boat as you and don't EXACTLY know!

however, there's something else of HIGHER! importance!!! ...it's coming around the corner and I will start it when paralegal is DONE!

hahaha, loved this comment of yours!

Jacky82020 on 09/13/2020:
Higher? Are you going to become a nun?

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
hahahaha.....NEVER EVER...i feel i'd lose all of MY PERSONAL freedom in that type of position LOL. it's good for others, but not me.

Jacky82020 on 09/13/2020:
Right there behind you! I am Native American and not into Christianity . But each to their own.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
sure thing :)

Maria7 on 09/13/2020:
Coupons help a lot.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
yes!!! and i am soooo tempted with these to just get takeout! :)

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
today instead of takeout, i indulged on some of the products being sold at the farm festival: pickles and hot pretzel bites!

Jacky82020 on 09/13/2020:
Love coupons! Well, for fast food anyway. Others not often useful because they are for brandnames that cost too much

Horn_of_plenty on 09/13/2020:
agreed! here, i'm getting the "seamless" food service $5 off coupon if i order food that i am going to pick up! so it's great because my food is between $5-$15! that's big savings!

grannyannie on 09/14/2020:
You're just a bundle of energy!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/14/2020:
not last night after the farm...i was totally useless the rest of the day! ha!

Have a good class today! I hope you will be able to step outside a little bit today, perhaps in between class and starting up your paralegal studies.

How nice it is to have the farm to look forward to, tomorrow. Are you getting rain in your area? It's been raining here for a week. IDK if you do farm work in the rain. I mean, why not, right?

I should try to do some weight work today too. I'll check in with you later, and see if either one of us accomplished this today.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/12/2020:
i was outside for an hour, loved it. very low 70's but sunny so it was still comfortable to ride my bike in shorts and a tshirt during the warmest part of the day!

no rain tomorrow and high is 75! perfect farming weather! we got some rain midweek but nothing torrential or as many days like it is by you. it also hasn't generally got as cold as it did by you.

i hope you did the weights...i totally snuck them in during my class...so bad!...but then it was done and i didn't have to think about them....so i could go on a bike ride! :)

grannyannie on 09/12/2020:
Enjoy your class. You're making a lot of progress.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/12/2020:
Thank you! I am close to being done!...

There is a LOT more things on the horizon i have left to do this year after i finish this one class...i will be taking a national test for project management...this will be hard.!

Started the day here with oatmeal too....chilly weather food!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/11/2020:
yes, it can be an easy comfort food :) it's chilly here, too, but that means 70F! haha it must mean like 50F or lower for you!

grannyannie on 09/11/2020:
Love porridge! Good thing on a chilly day.

bearcountrygg on 09/11/2020:
I had a portable washer in an apartment and loved it....In fact i loved it so much we keep it in our basement just in case our full size one quits and we need something temporarily.....it is a haier...and it does everything that a full size washer does but just on a bit of a smaller scale......if you get one that spins you can just hang things up to dry without dripping.......on the other hand...if you get one of the ones that crank...it will clean things...but no spin the water out and it's a mess....I had to hang things over the tub to drip dry....when I had one of those......but i can't say enough good things about the haier one.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/12/2020:
yeah, i have to see what kind of portables are available and see reviews and costs.

grannyannie on 09/12/2020:
You are doing so great! Yes, get a washing machine.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/12/2020:
thinking so...for convenience, but only if it works correctly (like a cheaper, portable type.

Donkey on 09/12/2020:
I don't know if there is such a thing as too much chocolate cake! ;-) I'm glad you had a cake to celebrate your birthday. I know you said you weren't in the mood for cake, but something about cake that just makes everything special. I love cake. (In case you didn't know.)

That's an interesting idea about the washing machine. I say good idea, if you can do it. I would take Bear's advice and get one that spins, even if it costs more. That may be well worth any additional expense, in the long run.

PS I usually air dry most of my clothes!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/12/2020:
yeah, i am thinking to washer could be good for times when my schedule gets busy and i don't want to go downstairs to wash things (or the few times when the machines are full)...for starting work, i want a wash simplifier...maybe for bras...etc.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/12/2020:
i will upload soon a cake photo for you!..

i have promised myself to stay awake and not take a nap either though i feel rather sleepy for a couple hours now while i am doing my work bc this particular research assgnment has NOT been difficult and i want to get it out of the way so i can read later...and also get my weights done after a nap so i can have a little more vigor when i do them!

 Monday - Labor Day:

Leave apt 8:30am to pick up candle at 9am. - i was stood up by the seller, she didn't answer her door or my texts! i let her know, nicely, that i was dissappointed after driving 45 min there (it was worth it to drive there bc i had planned to go to a certain supermarket after - making it so even though i didn't get the candle, i was able to get cheap gas and some produce!). back by 11am.

1- Research Assignment #3? started around noon...with a couple breaks along the way..ended at very close to 4pm, it took a hair longer because parts 1 and 2 were easy but part 3 required more research! DONE!

weights later (in afternoon)...Starting at 5pm...will try to end them as quickly as possible bc i don't want to drag it out all night.

bike ride - short, half hour? or   cardio break most probably.

Week #4 Reading AssignmentsSKIM THRU ONLY?? - see if i can skim it fast or if it's going to be heavier material...hopefully skim so i can start working on the assignments soon :)

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

Donkey on 09/07/2020:
Wow, how rude of the seller. That's so odd. What was the whole point of THAT? People are so strange...

Well at least your trip was still productive if you were able to shop.

I applaud you for your productive day. I plan to drink lots of coffee and go to the gym with my daughter. I might go for a walk this evening.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/07/2020:
yeah, she only said, an hour later "OMG i am so sorry!"

i didn't respond.

LOL that's so wrong of the seller...she just didn't keep in her mind that i was responsible and would totally be picking it up like i said, early in the morning! she must have seriously been sleeping!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/07/2020:
and the strangest part, her home didn't have a doorbell...so i honked my horn quick two times, knocked on the door, waited a little while.

i did all i could! LOL

Donkey on 09/07/2020:
I'll just comment on today's entry: probably a good idea to do weights today instead of yesterday. I hope you had a good day at the farm!

Are you familiar with the theme song tol "Green Acres"? Do a YouTube search, if not.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/07/2020:
I actually grew up in a small neighborhood called "Green Acres!" it's name was changed to "Mill Brook" later because the neighborhood didn't want to be associated with the mall nearby bc the mall had a bad reputation for violence!

i will have to google the song, i forget how it goes!

yeah, i'm glad i didn't do weights yesterday. even today i didn't want to, but, i figured i was being a little lazy by not doing them!

the farm was spectacular. i sorta talked too much giving my opinions bc the group was very young, all under 30 except for me!

Jacky82020 on 09/07/2020:
That sucks, HoP. What kind of candle was it?

Horn_of_plenty on 09/07/2020:
some kind of large candle with a cactus blossom scent similar to the 3-wick from Bath and Body works...thought i'd get another great deal...but this one went sour!!!

bearcountrygg on 09/07/2020:
That was too bad about the candle but at least you turned the trip into something positive.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/07/2020:
totally...and i like to get out and drive several times a week if possible so that was good.
