Keep track of jury duty check i should get in a couple weeks as of 6/11/21.(see if i get the reimbursement jury duty day's pay check by 7/6/21) If not - call union...

  • maybe call union to confirm they have my jury duty paperwork...
  • maybe do the university live chat to see what the pre-reqs are...but it's not necessarily needed to know now as i am not ready to apply yet to to any programs or shorter programs...but we'll see if i get up to this..
  • not sure when to do oil change, but sometime in July it needs to be done.

Lookahead Dates: Last TOM - 6/3...

Accounting - Must review all previous tests, i'm moving forward...onto Topics 8,9,10 - Chapters 9,6,10. for the next couple weeks or so, until July 9th or so i'll give myself with these topics

Business Law - Sesson 5 - 8/23/21 thru 10/8/21

LIVE CHAT soon but not yet,...Finalize if any prereqs needed - using the school chat option per CUNY email - if i don't hear back about / and maybe submit the actual applications for both the following:

  1. CUNY school of professional studies certificate in Management - 3 course certificate program -  see if they ALL transfer to Lehman College's 10 course Master's program.  If not, maybe SKIP the certifiacate program..
  2. CUNY Lehman College masters in business with a concentration in human resources management 10 courses, 30 credits. (might be some availability to take courses during summer / shorter sessions to really push out this masters.) My mom has a good point - soooo many people have business degrees, so that cert above really means nothing in the scheme of things. she's so right... it means nothing else an employer wanted a person to learn more or a person just wants to benefit - but it doesn't mean much to getting hired. it makes more sense to substitute my music masters for this one....for resume / linked in purposes down the road.....!

6/21/21, MONDAY OFF - Taking day off as a vacation day #2

Read Topic 7 / Chapter 8. will take exam #2 - as a retake to see if i can do a little better than the first when i took on Saturday and got a 76%. material is progressively harder..ok, still used google and had to search answers, but 85% on second attempt. oops no, only a 68% wowzers. still really lost on the account balance sheet / adjusting accounts, but otherwise did better.

like donkey said, just move on...luckily, the exams are short, usually take me under an hour. the midterm may be longer, not sure, will see...

time for shower, then taking midterm to get it done...(it's simply another test covering both exams 1 and 2).

...accounting I was not as easy just to breeze thru as i thought it would be! ha! 

...also the following items are both mandatory for me today and optional...possibly not completing everything, long list.

  • EXAM 2 again, LOL i did worse today, got a 68% whoa....wasn't worth repeating. lesson learned - don't repeat an exam (it's allowed to be taken up to 3x) unless i have to. DONE! 
  • next, i'll shower (hair needs washing, did shower yesterday at beach too, but not hair) DONE!
  • do all my laundry....DONE!
  • MIDTERM, ...got an 85%....looked up many of the answers either in my notes or google searching how to do the formulas, etc. i had a feeling i'd do better on midterm bc it included the earlier material which was easier. DONE!
  • money on laundry card - this is a must - .DONE!
  • maybe call ez pass - what an annoyance! he's annoyed with me at the beginning of the call (the rep) - he's thinking who's the idiot who doesn't understand her bill...until he had to have his supervisor adjust my account when he saw i couldn't do it from my end! ha! it worked out, afer half hour at least on hold/getting thru...DONE!
  • guinea cage/fleeces laundry... DONE!
  • i want to cook some frozen veggies to add to my rice/bbq'd chicken (from dad's grill) lunches for this week...the only food i need to prepare for work lunches is veggies, i have everything else in the fridge. the spinach didn't come out great as i think i needed to add more water initially as it was rather dry oops DONE!

 

  • upper body workout, no legs as i did them yesterday (just a short 2x week exercise of mostly squats/lunges in place). i'd like to do it 3x a week, but not pushing that at all bc it's too stressful / often when i combine it with cardio/walking activiities it becomes too much....

 

I already been able to have bowel movement (wouldn't have prob done that till after work if went to work today, so it's just good for me to have the time home to relax / catch up on cleaning / sleep in ; not rush around until tomorrow!.) lol.

SO glad i took today off. Last night i left my parents around 9pm to drive home. there was unexpected TRAFFIC! everywhere! seems everyone was driving to celebrate father's day...one of the first holidays with all covid restrictions dropped. also a few issues on the roads causing more delays. what should have taken a half hour to get home at that hour took over an hour! nutty! but no worries, i was able to sleep in...until a coworker accidentally called me to see where i was this AM...so i woke up a bit earlier than i wanted to, but, that was 7:30 and not the other really early times i get up at when i go to work, so that's good.  just glad to not be at work today. got GREAT exercise at the beach, walked half hour with dad; walked hour with mom. i'll even put in 2 hours walking since it was on sand and an active day overall. that's prob the best part. parents were happy. dad always getting overly excitable and annoyed too easily, even in retirement, but everyone had an overall great day.

9am bigger breakfast: blueberries 100, bigger pancake 250, pb 100, jelly 50, coffee 50...sorta scarfed it down, not really enjoyed except from the nice fluffy texture of a pancake.

1pm lunch: bread from parents some dense italian type 200, toasted, butter 50, 2 small roasted potatoes 50?, some of a drumstick 100?, couplle asparagus, negligable, still hungry...maybe stevia seltzer.400, animal crackers 150, passionfruit juice/beer mix imported from Germany (similar to the grapefruit beer) 200..

4:30 light meal yogurt 100, chia 20, nut butter 100, chips 150approx 350

1650...need veggies ....will sauté spinach later!

dinner: this and that...bites of the chicken as i separated all of it from the bones for easier maneuvering this week 100, small bite tofu 50, firm type, some of the cooked spinach as it's the only cooked veggie i have at home..100. 250. so not satisfying but it's like this bc i indulged earlier and don't have a lot of cals left... ;) happens to us all!

1900...ugh...losing my appetite a bit though. 

...craving the cauli crust pizza from  costco in my fridge that my parents bought me. i wanted to heat it...but i had too much food already in the fridge to eat. so i settled on having the cauli crust later this week - like tomorrow.

having weird stresses / feelings over the whole day today randomly feeling it in my nerves down through my hands...just frustrated that i even need to go back to work tomorrow knowing that i could easily fill tomorrow with tasks just like i did today...but, at least i'm rested. will drive into work...no time to wake up so early and go to bed very early tonight. still need to weights and it's already almost 8pm.  

 


Tues, 6/22...next chapter to review is Chapter 9 / Topic 8...

  • JUST realized at 9:39pm Monday night, i have a union meeting, in person (luckily it's 2min from my place by car) tonight at 6pm after work! good thing i checked the dates (every other month) on my fridge. they are tuesdays, every other month, usally 6 times a year only...SO GLAD i took Monday off! the week gets busier already....def not reviewing the accounting like i planned tonight. no time.
  •  need to freeze the extra bbq'd chicken my mom gave me - to freeze with the rice in fridge and the cooked spinach i made...waiting until spinach has been cooled off in the fridge overnight...

Thurs, 6/24...drive to work, do some walking before work along with lower body exercises...trying for this...

Sunday, June 27 -

10:40am Dr appt nearby derm. for  Botox for underarm sweating - injections stop overactive sweating for 3-6 months. i've noticed some extra sweating lately. this will be good for summer / my work situation...clothes less smelly that i keep at work (fleeces).  Since I'm out, stop at the good supermarket near the Dr.

cancel farm, below,  bc i'm going on an all day adventure / walking tour on saturday...i will only cancel farm with weather permitting for Saturday's adventure. i'll cancel farm more at a later date when i'm sure i can do the saturday thing, and vice versa.

1-4pm Queens Farm volunteering - excited - but also i will try not to overdo ...we'll see how it goes. maybe there'll be a free veggie to take home for myself or my piggies, depending what it is - maybe asparagus.

Moms and Dads are like that...we do get annoyed and excitable...because parents love their kids and want the best for them.....the saying "Having a child is like having your heart walking around outside of your body"...is so so true. They want the best for you!!!

SAME. it sucks...i even have troubles in hotels when i'm vaca with others in the same room or close quarters. if i'm vaca and in my OWN hotel room, it'd prob work...but if i'm staying with someone and we have a large itinerary, i'm always blocked up....

if i go on vaca and some days are slowwww, then i'd prob get relaxed enough to poop (never happened so far!)

I'm so glad that you took today off! And I often feel the same way - that I could easily fill my day with tasks and such, so as not to be bored - if I had another day off. This makes me feel kind of resentful of having to be at work. And top off THAT resentment with a Boss who is so bored over the weekend, that he can't wait to get back into the office. Ugh... In my heart, I tell myself that I'm the one who is better off.

I confess that I could never grasp the accounting balance sheet either. I touched on that a little bit during some Quick Books instruction (which never stuck with me, either). How about setting a parameter for yourself? Like only re-take the test if you get a 70 (or whatever number) or higher. You did well on the mid-term though - GREAT!

I'd call your day off and your long weekend overall a complete success and that's 100% :-)

yes, you are certainly better off than boss if he's bored on the weekend.

i could never be bored for long at all, if ever. takes a LOT for me to be bored, like you, because we are introverted :)

i will prob only retest if i have to. but, that's the only chapter i had trouble with, so, we'll see if it prevents me from learning the next lessons. if so, i'll have to review it again; but, like you said, only do the work if i have to. this is def not going to be my career at this point...

i'll try to avoid the retesting at all costs because i'd have at least an hour free more today if i avoided it like you suggested.

take off a day when you can...try to fit it in. all i know is taking one day is a lot easier to come back to emails than from taking a week off...

i will comment to the other comments you left, but since i read this one first - nah, i do not really want to maintain lower. i def have enjoyed this weight that i only have been at like 6 months. last summer i weighed a few lbs higher for most of the summer, started to lose in the fall for some reason, i have to think about why...probably it just became easier after maintaining the other for so long, also could be a change in diet to more carbs...yes lol.

just looking at photos, i do not look too skinny. so i was thinking later in life, really not now as i do not think i could maintain it, i could try for lower / learner. but it's just a thought and may not necessarily be healthy as i'm freezing constantly when i'm at my desk at work but i assume it's due to my lower blood pressure / lower pulse at rest.

Accounting Currently Studying chapter 8.(topic 7 next...) my plan is to get thru these chapters and be on the next chapter next week...(in my second month now of payments to Straighterline). next test is on chapters 3,4,8 as well as the midtern on chapters 1,2,3,4,8. I want to get these tests completed this weekend and begin taking notes on the next grouping of chapters on Monday.

..Read Topic 7 / Chapter 8. After i finish Chapter 8, I can take both Exam #2 - will do tonight! and the Midterm - will do Sunday or Monday... Then, i'll be almost 50% done with the course...took exam #2 last night (Saturday) did poorly but not poor enough to move forward. got a 76. I can retake, but, i think i'lll just move forward. I reviewed the answers and see where i didn't do well and also thought about better answers.  However, i went to retake, thinking it'd be the same test, but it wasn't. so i canceled out of that retake. you can retake 2 times i believe and they accept the best score. well, i guess i can retake it Monday, actually, when i am feeling refreshed and up to it... 

then, i will move onto the Midtern which is a test on all the chapters to date (4 chapters). After that, i can move onto the next material in this course...

Father's Day: going to beach with parents, their plan, i'm going in support of Father's Day (don't love beach with parents....like it more with my friend C only). feel weird in bathing suit with parents.

set clock with time to get ready, but waiting for last minute lol and also doing LEG EXERCISES today before i leave my apt.

I gotta hurry up / shave and get ready for the beach, lol., find a bathing suit that is suitable, etc ..at least parents are bringing me lunch (mom made salad and boiled eggs...nice)

Check EZ pass billing..should only be on credit card? - MAY NEED TO CALL AND FIX THIS ON DAY OFF, MONDAY...

Happy Father's Day to your dad - it's nice that you are meeting up with your folks, even if it's not your preferred location. Could you wear a cover-up or t-shirt or something over your swimming suit, perhaps?

I did not realize how tired/fatigued you have been, until I read your update to yesterday's entry!

You can decide tomorrow if you wish to re-take test #2, which is great to have that option :-) This is not advice, but just putting myself in your shoes, I'd probably opt just to move on to the next test/chapter, unless I felt that I truly could do better and just got some tough questions... IDK, is it worth expending the time and energy to re-take the test? Only you can tell. I had similar circumstances when I was in paralegal school. Sometimes, I felt that I knew the subject matter than my test score reflected, and would opt to take another test (a re-test). But some of those subjects, I was just happy to get a passing grade and needed to move forward.

Do take care, though, to allocate your energy resources (physical and mental) carefully. (((hugs)))

i'm not used to the longer commutes or traffic lol...some people can easily adjust and/or are fitter and not so much is taken out of them from public transporation (extra walking, etc)...i guess i'm not that active the other days, and the public trans days take it out of me...but that's a good thing, it's like exercise, learning to endure more...

i took it because i am not sure if my average in this course will affect me...and also since it's only an hour or less...25 questions. if it was longer, like 2 hours test, i would have skipped, yeah. i may skip retakes unless i'm below an 80% going forwards, that's a good idea to skip them to save time on something i do not need to know 100% in life...

you are right to think about wasted energy in retakes, again on something i'm not looking to do for my future as much as get a small understanding / information on it for general reasons for my work now...right!

i am listening to you, your points are very helpful...one thing i've always done in life is put the same emphasis on everything i do, which hasn't helped me...because i've wasted lots of time concentrating on things or saying yes to attend things that haven't gotten me anywhere. you are right...

6/19/21, Saturday, HOME.

last night i fell asleep on the couch after eating, as per usual this week. lots of days where i tried to read or something; and just pass out on the couch. i woke up last night a couple hours later after being on couch and transfered myself to my bed. lol. that's what happened on Wednesday into Thursday and the reason public trans didn't work out - like Bear was referring to - i had only set one of my two loud alarms. but i'm glad i took public trans friday, that worked out GREAT! 

8:45am Breakfast: sweet potato pie 210, coffee 40, nut butter 100, gummies eh 150. 

11am snacks gummy vitamins  / kombucha 50, a freshly hard-boiled egg 100...thank god i made this an hour ago...something healthy in this apt to choose from. i may break away from being as carb-filled in AM, maybe. or it may be similar, but a little more protein mixed in...we'll see as time goes on and i get used to working at the new jobsite more...

12:15pm lighter lunch: thai veg/tofu soup & rice..wow, the restaurant forgot to add garlic and all the seasonings to the soup (it tasted only of cooked squash and wasn't nice)...so i added some salt/garlic powder..rice was a long grain basmati i had in fridge which was very good..200, soup 100. 300. follwed up with those setltzers that now have added caffine, bubbly brand if remember right! 

snacks: 2pm white choc truffle 100, blueberries 100

3:30 after waking up from antoher short nap on couch, very tired day, top half of a sweet potato pie 100, 2 wafers 80, coffee 20. 200, some of the pie crust 50.

dinner: 5:45pm leftover thai veggies, some higher cal like the baby corns, 150, stacy's pita chips 200. 350...keeping on with drinking some seltzer with stevia like i've been doing most of the afternoon..

7:45 snack: 1 eggo waffle 100, with pb 100 and jelly 50! 250. very good.

very tired day......it took me until 1pm to finally be showered and alert enough to do any work for today....the commuting and early wakeups def wear me out during the week...very glad to be home today. already had like 4 bowel movements throughout the morning...TMI sorry...i'm glad to be home, really felt i needed this day to be like this!

Upper/lower strength in evening or late afternoon :-) thinking this might need to all be skipped until Monday as my body feels tired today.

10:40am Dr appt nearby derm. for  Botox for underarm sweating - injections stop overactive sweating for 3-6 months. i've noticed some extra sweating lately. this will be good for summer / my work situation...clothes less smelly that i keep at work (fleeces).  Since I'm out, stop at the good supermarket near the Dr.

cancel farm, below,  bc i'm going on an all day adventure / walking tour on saturday...i will only cancel farm with weather permitting for Saturday's adventure. i'll cancel farm more at a later date when i'm sure i can do the saturday thing, and vice versa.

1-4pm Queens Farm volunteering - excited - but also i will try not to overdo ...we'll see how it goes. maybe there'll be a free veggie to take home for myself or my piggies, depending what it is - maybe asparagus.

nope, i went to the court but wasn't chosen. so it's pay for one day of missing work for JD but no other days bc i wasn't chosen! never been chosen in my life, but have attended court 4x to serve for the day...nothing transpired any of the times!

oh i see.

regarding my pay and why i haven't received it, it's usually only $40 a day for JD.

However, i took a course that was 10hrs over a period of 5 weeks at the union a few years ago. after the course, members are entitled 80% of a days pay for all days out on JD. works out well if you get a long period off from work (even a week) if chosen for JD.

anyways, instead of being paid by the company, the union has to issue me a check ... and it's a process. so i have to stay ahead of it to make sure it happens and i get paid.

another thing i have to work out, seems my EZ pass tolls were paid by my checking account and i may have also paid double somehow on the website, when i switched my payments to credit card. may have to call to see how all my payments are showing on my bank account and credit card statements, and if they'll issue either one of them a credit or fix it after the fact!

The husband always gets full paid time off for jury duty. He was actually on a trial once. Many a teacher loves jury duty. Full pay for sitting around at the courthouse all day, plus whatever they give out. But some ppl are excused because they tell the judge they won’t get full pay and can’t afford it.

The best excuse I saw for getting out was standing and saying: Judge not, lest ye be judged, LOL. The judge quibbles with them for a while but always let them off. I know of sinning whoremongers who got off on this one.

 6/18, Friday - do public trans - yes, just in time, got out of bed with practically 15min to get ready. - so i can study on commute ....yes. still not easy to be up though, but worth it for the exercise. approx 1-1.5hours walking is what i'm recording for today.

glad i got out the door and on the bus because i studied and will get enough exercise to come home and just relax tonight, bed early probably and/or take some notes on the next chapter 8 / topic 7.

7amish breakfast: next to last piece of cheesecake 200 (it's good but i'm ready to move on from eating cheesecake lol), banana and coffee 200.

snacks: 9:30am some cashews 100, 10:30am more cashews trying to not reach for the chocolate right now...may need to start improving diet.

lunch: last of the boiled eggs 100, broccoli sauteed but hardly any sauce 100 and some garlic, the foreman of job is ordering pizza for the trailer i'm in...i WILL have some - we will see how cheesy it is!, along with the egg/broccoli, extra tea.... some potato chips 200?... 450 i wish i brought even more veggies to have with this pizza 500??...like when donkey used to bring celery sticks - that would be premiumly perfect! but, luckily, i got some veggies :) lol chips can wait. 700, not filling, pizza was good, but not satisfying.

snacks: didn't want to snack, but the pizza was extremely salty and after having sweet (sf  stevia) tea...my body started craving sweets....

dinner: i have leftovers at home. thai tofu soup and/or veggie thai leftovers for Saturday :) or maybe the veggies i get from southern takeout by work...will bring them home on train/bus commute...corn succatash 250 pretty good, sauteed greens were good too 100??, sauteed squash 100. 450 ...will have a yogurt...100, mixed with the top of a pumpkin pie 100...sorta indulging, long day...animal crackers. 160. lately my weight is on the lower side, so this indulgence doesn't matter too much as it's really within the upper calorie limits anyways :) and to reiterate - pizza stinks! never has filled me up, ever.

 I may look into nearby takeout places near where i work since i'm commuting home - perhaps i can get something new from around here to enjoy this weekend or tonight...veggies like indian style or something...will check that...or maybe southern style collard greens....gonna look online at options...

Thank goodness it's Friday! I like the idea of a Friday public trans. commute, except that by the end of the week, it might be much harder to wake up early. Still, you made it today!

My alarm is set for 5:15am, and sometimes, I don't get up until 5:30a-ish.

i figure Tuesday is a good day as it's early in the week and I still have energy for Public Trans...and not a day i'm doing weights right now.

And i chose Friday simply because i can go home and just chill and not wake up early the next day...so if i am really tired Friday, i can then just sleep...and also i do not have to think about doing any more exercises...

But we'll see how it goes...i may continue to work on what's best as it's not figured out yet.

i did go to bed really early last night, but didn't actually fall asleep till after 9- which is still decently early and prob the reason i got up at all!

i have to change around my "daylight alarm" to produce more light, earlier, i think....i think that the light in my room helps me get up - a lot!

6/17/21, Thurs - Public Trans workout; studies...no, driving, didn't wake up with alarm clock slept later not enough time to take bus/trains.

I was early enough driving to work to get in over a 20min walk in the AM and i'll also walk 5 min at lunch, adding up to 30min walking. :) recorded above in my tally...

Tonight is a rest night, I may take more notes on accounting to be able to review on my commute tomorrow, if i wake up early enough (means i must go to bed very early...).  I am not going to be able to wake up so early if i do not go to bed with enough hours to sleep. I'm practically 39 in a few months and cannot run on empty...

Breakfast: banana smallish, coffee, small cheesecake 400...

snacks: 9am almonds 50, Salted cashew halves 100, cherry filled hershey's kisses really good..100

I used to open up a coffee shop at a train station, many moons ago. I think I had to be up at 4am, maybe 4:15am in order to have the shop ready for the first train's commuters. I KNOW what you mean about how difficult it is to get up that early, that feeling "dead" or "zombie" in mind and body... And I was much younger back then, so I was able to do it. I think I filled in for a vacation, and then moved to 2x a week? It was hard though because I had 2 little, active toddlers that needed my energy at home after my shift was over.

What time to you have to go to bed in order to wake up at 4:30am? How does that compare with driving days? Just curious. I cannot remember my coffee-shop bed-time. Thing is, I could take a much-needed nap at 1pm. You cannot do this. With the nap, I think my bedtime was 9pm -- but I was in my early 30's, so there's really no comparison other than knowing that Zombie feeling.

no, your situation is comparable. everything is comparable - with the early wake-up thing.:)

the difference between wakeup times on driving vs public transporation days is a little under an hour in wake-up times (i can get up approx an hour late when i drive...no joke!) i also get home around an hour earlier when i'm driving home.

in order to wake up at 4:30, in all honesty, i'd have to have been sleeping at 8:30 at least to feel good in the AM, i would think.

i also know that varying wake-up times is difficult in scheduling...it's been stated in articles that to keep wakeup times the same is easier on the body to adjust daily, than to keep changing them...i'm still thinking if taking public trans will work out - or if i need to change my days i do it...still thinking about it all.

public trans is only really valuable, i guess, for the study time of being able to read over the notes i've taken at home, to learn them thru repetition on the commute by just continuously looking them over...that's really the only value i think to public transportation. it saves money, but it's just a long commute and the money saved doesn't compute as a value. like i said, it seems the real value is reading / study time.

even driving to work lately, i feel tired because i get up and go without spending much time getting ready...which is fine.

still getting used to the new scheduling of this job / location / etc....

i was thinking to just look over my notes even if i'm busy at work, to just work them into the day...if i do not take public trans. if i do not review my accounting notes, i cannot remember them just be studying weekends...

...still figuring it all out...

but the early wake-up is not very conducive to a regular wake-up lifestyle, but helps me study. thinking to do it maybe just tuesdays (early in week, i have energy)...and fridays (go home and rest, no need to get up early the next day...)

Is you alarm too quiet? If you push the snooze button then you can always put a louder one across the room so that you have to get up to turn it off.

6/16/21 - after work upper bod / maybe legs too - driving to work so I can sleep a half hour more.  I think i'll drive to work MWF (the days i work out strength)...and T/TH I will take public trans / study / do more walking on commute. also taking public trans 2x a week will offset the toll and gas expenses when i'm driving the other 3 days.  driving will also save me time for days when i want to get home earlier to have more energy to lift at night :)

was going to study last night (take more notes on Ch 4), but got caught up in a phone call...and tonight i have weights, so, we'll see but i don't think it may be possible for me to take any more notes until maybe Thursday, if i get the chance after work....

Walking 15min by work, 5 min at lunch. mile - really that's all i will do today because tonight is upper body :) and possibly lower body...may have to go back to doing those two workouts at once, to free up my days and schedule and planning is just easier...

decided to take some notes to study so i have new accounting material to study during my commuting tomorrow...doing this before i work out...will skip doing legs and just do upper body...

I realized last night that if the public transportation route takes you longer in the morning, then it will also take you longer in the evening! Ha ha ha - this never even occurred to me until I realized it. DUH! So if you're eager to get home as soon as possible, then driving would be a more attractive option.

I kind of like the MWF and TTh idea -- see if it works for you. The public transportation is nice because you get exercise and study time. But you give up free time (sleep, home) in exchange. I see this as a fluid situation, depending on how you feel, weather, time.

How many more cheesecake slices are left? :-)

yes, public trans is GREAT for reviewing of notes as the route is quite lengthy and i have 20 min per each piece of the commute to glance at notes. AN HOUR of reviewing on public trans days.

next, the commute is extra long in the morning, yes, using public trans...but in the evening, it is similar to the morning (and just a half hour more or so than if i drove in the evenings). but in the morning, bc of lighter traffic, public trans is an hour more than driving - if that makes sense.

it is good for exercise. my legs were tired expecially due to irregular exercise or lack of cardio lately...so i found the public option was good for Tues / Thurs but right now too tiring to do daily. i feel i can do weights better when i drove home...

yeah, you get me.

and yes, weather will have an effect too...

have a nice day. i feel i got used to all this pretty fast - as i'm older and used to commuting / bringing food to work, etc.

yeah, so everyday is not a crazy crazy wake-up call :) and also so not everyday is me coming home late. :) and then on the early wake-up days, only 2 that are crazy early, i'll want to get up, knowing that the next day i can take more time at home...it's like an incentive to do the early thing 2x a week only. :)

6/15 Tues - commuting via public trans, depsite the early hour. will study a bit on train but also need to learn the route and not miss my stops. it's a bus, a train and another train. don't wanna mess up. left my apt at 5:15 and was just on time to work at 7am...need to leave earlier...may ask to come into work at 7:30...really think i need to come at 7:30...or maybe i'll just push thru, to leave early.?? will continue to try out public trans this week...

If it were me, I'd get up early to take public transit and arrive at work on time. I would not ask to start late, not at least until I had more time at the new location you're at -- AND not at least you've done public transportation for a month or so. No need to cause waves at work until you're sure of your request. It may not be needed.

I read stories of people getting up at 3:30am to get to the gym to work out before work. I would see this in a similar light. In fact, getting up early like that is something I would love to do, to have more time in the morning. Unfortunately, that *would* mean going to bed earlier - much earlier I think. Like I'd have to be very disciplined in lights out by 9pm (or before).

And there's nothing to say that you have to do public transit every day. Maybe alternating days, so you have 2-3 mornings of "sleeping in".

Just my thoughts right now... An interesting proposal.

yes, those are wise thoughts. and yes, you are right, it is too early to ask for a time change at work. people come at varying times, but the majority is indeed here before or at 7am. so you are right, i should try to keep it.

also, since i live alone, i "should" be able to go to bed earlier if i want to be more refreshed for these early mornings.

lastly, i do agree, it may not be something i do everyday - though - that could be confusing on my body - all these different start times...but you are right...to def wait it out and keep trying the options out before saying anything!

plus, coming at 7am, i have time to settle down before working...it's like a free half hour where the main boss isn't here and i can slowly adjust..another reason to keep the 7am and not short-change myself on missing out on the less stressful, first half hour of the day when everyone is just easing into work....along with me, not me after everyone...good points here, def all things i must consider.

STILL debating using public trans in future, regularly as to "save my car" and save a lot of money. and to get regular exercise. it will be a mile, extra, without even trying...i'm still thinking this will be the future way for me.

today was little traffic, but, i didn't do any cardio practically. not even at lunch bc too much time was wasted and i felt bad about going out, which i should have done anyway, really; or i don't get any exercise. i do not like to exercise hardcore only after work...i may try public trans tomorrow...as long as i get to bed and see the route and know what time to leave to not be late (5:15am - which isn't too much earlier than if i drive i must leave by 6:15am...but that's if i do not walk before work near work...so it's really the same, is what i'm saying...and i may be able to start studying on the train / bus once i am comfortable with the part that is new...i'm thinking driving is such a waste, yes.

because i'm not using my "extra time" in the AM to do anything and i'm not fulfilling any cardio goals, i may as well take public trans.  I have been reading on the couch at home - something i can also do on the train....i may as well do it then...

...it was good to drive and i got more used to it this week, it even felt better today, but i shouldn't do it regularly right now...when i can use the time more wisely...will try to start the studying / reading on public trans TOMORROW (Tuesday). perhaps i can drive like 1x per week when i want to shop or something after work? gotta see...

i'm just not using the extra time well except to relax on the couch. so i'm not helping myself.

grrr...i have to leave at 5:15am to get to work before 7am...it's slightly too early...what should i do? ask to come in at 7:30? but then i have to leave at 4 and not 3:30...should i just try it...see if i can get my body to be awake before 5am so i can leave that early? do i shower at night again???

lots to think about...

maybe driving is still a good idea on some days...like the days i lift? 

my mind is def not made up. 5:15 is too early to leave everyday it means i need to be up at least at 4:45, or just after 4:30..ugh!

if i start work 7:30, perhaps i can leave at 5;45...that's better....more "normal"...

but everyone in my traiiler starts early...perhaps i can have an earlier bedtime and make this work.

will work on it.

truth is, i'm enjoying studying and relaxing all day on the couch on one of the weekend days...and i can see myself doing that for a long time...i just have to decide if i can actually get more studying done than i do now...as i realize i only took 2 pages of notes yesterday...i did a little more reading and was watching videos of the course from the previous chapter, which is why i only took two pages of notes from the new chapter 4...i will need to focus slightly better to accomplish courses on time in the future...something to think about.

It will take some time to adjust your time allocations. Sounds like you did not have any difficulties in spite of leaving for work later, so that's a good thing.

that's right, i left early enough that despite a downpour i still got to work 10 min early....and couldn't work out walking or do leg exercises outdoors due to drizzle / wet grounds!

that's right i need to adjust my time in AM for nice weather days, i do not come early enough to actually do a walk before work, YET!

i will not buy this brand cheesecake again - nothing special enough and the calories may be off - which annoys me lol.

i didn't pack more than a cliff bar and few granola bars...ended up getting takeout towards the later parts of the day - thought i'd be coming home before hair after the guided tour, but since i was late and didn't do the tour - i stayed out in the city later and came back to my area with enough time to do some takout, enjoy it in my car without rushing, and go to do hair.

it was a lovely day. i didn't forget to eat haha. but kept cals low bc i was on the go, all day.

loving being home today...trying to stay on task and study...

That's too bad that you missed the tour you paid for. I admire your ability to make the best of the situation. It's probably better on your own anyway - you can go at your own pace (fast and slow) and stop to see what you want to see.

yes, it was OK i missed it. i tried contacting the guide, who was very repsonsive until i parked, then he left me totally hanging...so i just started walking and i came to a park! and it happened to be a large one - i got lucky.

...but now i realize, if i get an invite for a tour, to maybe not do the tour, but drive there on that day and do my own walk!? for free. and i will not lose money for missing or being late! :) i may.

i have issues with my left ankle and my legs are forever an issue. been this way for a very long time; almost 10 yrs. i have to just deal with it. been to many doctors, etc.

Wow! That’s awful.

The leg injury I got in 10/20 when I tore a thigh muscle when my foot slipped off the bike peddle never fully healed. It hurts when I go downstairs. Something I haven’t done much since moving the Cat Room upstairs, but I just tested it & it seems worse. Thinking I should do the stairs a few times for PT.

yea, it is hard to fully recover from bad injuries.

i abused my legs by overdoing running around 10 yrs ago, got shin splints and continued to run on them; as well as broke an ankle over 15years ago and nothing has been the same since the shin splints, especially.

it's alright - everyone has their own issues. :)

if i didn't have that issue with my ankle/legs; i wanted to go for court officer position. but i couldn't get up to speed for their running tests and gave up bc i know i have limitations that cannot be improved upon at this point in my life!
