(count calories/exercise/relaxing thoughts!)
Weight: 125.0

Thursday edit: 125 is the new weight. hey, i'll take a .4 loss! why not!? that's practically a half pound. Hopefully I can manage to get into 124 by sunday or monday! :)

soooo tired today. major binge feelings at work! ugh!

breakfast: protein shake in car and cup blueberries(i'm trying to eat less in the morning...)

snack: healthy bar 220

lunch: chicken and lots of veggies 260

snack 1: urge for a really good all natural clif bar 160

snack 2: another urge to eat but at a normal time clif bar 160

snack 3: late, after work, protein bar 230

dinner: pickles, 2 cucumbers, little bit of alfalfa sprouts which i don't even like so i don't think i'll buy them for a VERY long time, awesome lean cuisine shrimp flavor, and a CARVEL flying saucer since parents bought a pack of them - it actually fit well caloriewise into my day! :)

total calories 1600 :)

exercise: during day 2 miles, 1.5 mile walk after work. tired. need to read!

oh, i walk .5 mile from my car to work and then .5 mile back from work to my car. at lunch, i walk around 1 mile. so, that adds up to the two miles before going home from work!!! :) it's really great!

Progress as of today: 10 lbs lost so far, only 10 lbs to go!

rlovell on 07/09/2008:
great job today. go home and enjoy your success by taking a hot bath or reading your book. xoxo

cybermom4 on 07/09/2008:
So that's your secret of walking at work! I think that's good - sneaky way to get that exercise in :)

thinnsidenotout on 07/09/2008:
"TOM coincide/How beautiful!" ~ Yer funny!....GRRRRRR...... At least this month I didn't see/feel it coming, cause I sure haven't had the munchies or cravings at all...More of the "blues" for some reason...Not fun!... Wait til yer "40"...Now that's a LOL'er...HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! : o )

Good job on the walking!

selina on 07/10/2008:
I also dislike those alfalfa sprouts. I can't imagine anyone liking them! but i do like seaweed and that's disgusting to many..... good job today on calories and walking! You are good!

Jen40 on 07/10/2008:
Another boo hiss for alfalfa sprouts. Mine are getting tossed in the trash, I can't take it! Great job on the exercise and calories!

crategrl on 07/10/2008:
I have actually started eating more in the morning. Studies do prove that a bigger breakfast actually helps lose weight. I was watching the Today show and basically they showed a sandwich with turkey, ham or RB, slice of swiss cheese and a glass of milk and OJ. So I have been eating a toasted bagel with some light cream cheese and some protien on it and I notice I am not hungry until after 12pm. I eat breakfast at 6:30 and so far so good. BTW I love alfalfa sprouts but the price has increased so much that I only buy them as a treat. Great menu and exercise yesterday!!!!

maria777 on 07/10/2008:
YAYYY!!! Congratulations to you on your new number!!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!! Big smile to you!!!

maria777 on 07/10/2008:
I have not tried alfalfa sprouts...what are they and how do your prepare them and what do they taste like???

legcramps on 07/10/2008:
Wow! Awesome job! You're doing so great; congrats on the .4 loss!! Your food is terrific and way to fend off those binge feelings!

Moody2 on 07/10/2008:
Wow you are doing GREAT!!!! And yes, take ANY loss! I totally agree!! Keep it up!

(count calories/exercise/relaxing thoughts!)
Weight: 125.4

Wed morning: bloated from TOM and slightly above my posted weight. I have a feeling once this week is over I'll be lower :)

Hello! Happy Tuesday. My main goal today is to get in some good reading tonight. I have been reading for only about 10 minutes if that each night lately because I wait too long to start and then I am too tired to continue! So...I need to get ready for bed FASTER tonight! I also need to buy on of those large pillows for reading in bed. I think you call them boyfriend pillows? i forgot...

as far as walking: at least two miles during work hours...and a bike ride tonight! :)

breakfast: pear 120 not sure if this is a good breakfast for me. (kinda like a snack and then i eat early at work again)

snack: protein shake, bar 320

lunch: yogurts, coffee 190

snack: bar 220

dinner: lean pockets supreme pizza pockets two, large pickles i picked up fresh from the kosher deli, steamed broccoli/cauliflower, plum and then strawberries which weren't necessary but i wanted them.

total: a good 1480.

I am still getting too hungry throughout the day at work. I need to fit in my snacks better!

have a good evening everyone!

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

sweetpea1977 on 07/08/2008:
Are you talking about body pillows - long, comfy, and bendy pillows? If so, they rock! I got mine when I was pregnant (to keep my belly level as I laid on my side) and I still use it! It makes a great reading pillow too!

Enjoy your evening!

maria777 on 07/08/2008:
1480 looks fantastic! And all the walking and bike riding do, too!

Happy reading...I have 3 pillows I prop up for that.

cybermom4 on 07/08/2008:
Wow - 2 miles during work!? How do you fit that in?

mmuraro on 07/08/2008:
Good job with the walk and hope reading went well. I will try the TJ's shakes anyway. i have a high tolerance for bad tasting healthy foods. hahahaha. I never go for the chocolate though, all protein shakes and stuff like that taste better in vanilla, dont you think? xo

balloonlady on 07/08/2008:
I got the best reading pillow, it is the body pillow the select comfort stores sells... It is THE BEST... ( it is about 60.00) which I know seems nuts for a pillow, but it is awesome...

Agent_Guber on 07/08/2008:
Thanks for the comment!! :) I bet it feels good to be at your weight!!! Propped up in bed reading sounds like a perfect night!! I wish I had a book! :)

selina on 07/09/2008:
Hi HOP! You are doing so well, eating right and exercising... at this rate, you'll reach your goal soon! I'm with you on this ride...

WI3 on 07/09/2008:
sometimes I get off on snacks at work as well..it really does make it difficult. Have a great day!

rae_regenbogen on 07/09/2008:
Oh, I love those pillows. I have a body pillow and I also have a "reading" pillow; the kind with the arms that you can rest your elbows on. I also have a big comfy reading chair with a footstool. A lot of my time is spent with a good book....

maria777 on 07/09/2008:
Hope you feel better today. Hang in there! ~Love, Maria

Beth201P on 07/09/2008:
Hope you are feeling better. You will be down. Hang in there...Hugs!!

thinnsidenotout on 07/09/2008:
Hey You!..... Your doing good!.....keep it up and I was thinking that TOM came too quickly this month for me, but I see you are too and knew that last time we were together on it... So I guess time IS going by faster than I thought..DARN!

(count calories/exercise/relaxing thoughts!)
Weight: 125.4

for some reason i was extremely tired as well as extremely hungry today.

6am breakfast started off poorly bc i gave into temptation, although not as bad as it could have been: cup blueberries, cereal, milk, pb and jelly on bread

9:30am snack: coffee.

12 lunch: yogurts, coffee.

5pm snack: 2 cups strawberries, slimfast optima cookie dough (awesome!!!) 310

7pm dinner: 725 calories total big. but I eventually stopped. I wasn't planning on dessert but had it anyway realizing that I would give my body a rest. lol. one red pepper. 4 steamed cups of broccoli/cauliflower. Amy's microwavable mac and soy cheese which i like a lot. :) then, protein shake and 2 plums. :) it's alright

total: 1855. still good, will go on a short bike ride in a few minutes.

exercise: 2 miles at work and bike ride at home. i really want to read tonight and go to sleep on time! :)

i hope everyone had a nice day! :)

after work i did anything but come home. i went to two gourmet food stores that were on the same block and then went to the cheap fruit/vegetable store near them. i knew i'd have problems if i came straight home.

also, i have realized i NEED to have some snacks at work. at least a morning snack because i am waaay to hungry and then i don't have energy after work. I will probably start having TWO nutrition bars a day to help with cravings. we'll see. when i did it last week i felt a LOT better after work. the reason i didn't snack today in the morning is bc i was trying to watch calories after my big breakfast.

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

maria777 on 07/07/2008:
You did REAL WELL today! Happy for you! Also good on having a snack to help get you through plan. Exercise looks terrific...2 miles and bike ride home...that is real good! Hope you have a wonderful evening!

cybermom4 on 07/07/2008:
I totally agree with you on the snack idea. I keep a box of wheat thins in my desk at work. Just having a few salty, cruncy thins gets me past the 'growling stage' and the salt helps reminds me to drink more water. I don't think wheat thins are really the BEST choice for the snack, but they work for me for now. Hope your bike ride was fun! :)

Beth201P on 07/07/2008:
I love those Fat Free Wheat thins with string cheese. That way I don't go overboard on my main meals. Have a good rest of the week. ((hugs))

thinnsidenotout on 07/07/2008:
Your day doesn't look too bad......

RE: Hair done/lightened ~ I just got to spend time actually fixing it on the 4th... I did highlight (frost) it a while back myself (well, Ben helped me)...I fixed it in a ponytail, then split it in the middle then brought it back through from the bottom so the hair comes out the top with curled tips, instead of down & out at the neckline...Manu thought I got it cut.... I won't do any major changes with the hair until I reach my goal...I have never had long hair and been thin at the same time..I am looking forward to seeing myself in a whole new way and then will make a decision on the length.... I have greys popping out, so that is why I highlight it...

It is late, so I'll check in on ya tomorrow!

selina on 07/08/2008:
Hi HOP! Your menu is terrific! Love it! You are awsome in doing all the exercise and work at the same time. Way to go! I posted the fish soup recipe for you and maria in my diary. check it out!

jolt on 07/08/2008:
You did great. The snack idea is excellent! Keep up the great work

I will definitely look into those Trader Joe's shakes! xoxo

Weight: 125.4

Monday morning:

Breakfast: cup blueberries, cereal and milk, pb and j on wheat bread: 580. binge feeling in effect.

Sunday evening:

Hey all! It's late so i'll make a fast entry and do comments on your entries tomorrow!

I went to 6 flags although the report for rain was due for today! interestingly, hardly a drop and the park was very empty! so we got to go on all the rides!

breakfast: blueberries. 100

gum during day 25

lunch: 1/2 lb burger with cheddar cheese and bacon on huge deli roll (1000) with about a cup baked beans about (270)...trying to figure out some reasonable total: 1270

dinner late around 9pm in my house: i tried to get veggies in bc i miss them when i don't have them for awhile: huge salad with spray dressing, small piece tofu, microwave green beans with almonds: about 300.

today's total: about 1700 i thought it would be lower but then i actually calculated it and it proved to be more than i thought! All in good company, good day!

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

selina on 07/07/2008:
Hi HOP! I'm glad you had a wonderful weekend and stayed on our diet! Congrats!

thinnsidenotout on 07/07/2008:

maria777 on 07/07/2008:
1700 sounds mighty, mighty good!!! Can't go wrong with salad!

maria777 on 07/07/2008:
Try to do something to distract yourself from the binge feeling...GO AWAY BINGE FEELING!!! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME!!!

shadetree on 07/07/2008:
6 flags in jersey? I was friends with someone who lived about 10 miles away and would get season passes, so we would go about once every couple weeks (of course, that was back in my single college days!) 1700 really isn't bad! Hope you are able to fend off the binge!

the boca lasagna meal was not very good actually. it was really expensive also - like 5 dollars! I did eat it all but I should remember what I just wrote and NEVER get it again. That's part of the reason I think I ate the cereal after. I wasn't satisfied, it was too bland.

my 3 day total avg calories per day: 2283. still too high but after tomorrow I'll be ok! Then, I just need to create an actual calorie deficit starting Monday so I can see an actual loss rather than maintenance for next week! At least I've been getting in good exercise.

exercise: yoga, good walk with grandma (she's not a slowpoke!), and walk around community.

slightly large dinner, but good, won't call it a binge: salad, whole cucumber, cup strawberries, plum, boca meal, big bowl cereal and milk for dessert. 700 calories. a bit high.

1650 total today. ok. perhaps dinner was too large but at least it was very healthy.

Today has been a good day. :) First, although i started thinking about eating too much and NOT going to yoga, i went anyway and it was totally worthwhile! Then, i went home and grabbed strawberries/short shower and went to pick out sneakers for myself and my grandma because she needed them and so do I - there was a great deal buy one and get the other 1/2 off! nice! The ones I picked were really nice but had disturbing purple laces with sparkles! What adult buys sneakers with sparkly laces i ask!? So, i said I needed white laces to replace the purple ones and she said I would have to buy them. But, then they didn't have and the cashier said I could actually take them off another pair of similiar sneakers and FREE of CHARGE! awesome! :)

Went with grandma today. I was soooo tired when i got there because I went to bed around 1am-2am and my parents were a bit loud this morning. So I got a little less sleep. We went for our walk - around 1.5 to 2 miles. I want to ride my bike later too. I just had a snack but I'm still hungry. Perhaps I should have dinner now and ride my bike later around 7:30. I don't have plans to go out tonight because I thought I was waking up early to go to 6 flags tomorrow but plans have been changed because of the rain. This means I can go to yoga tomorrow morning too! Great, since I have only gone about 2x in the past month!

I also did a few returns later on in the day at a couple stores. Got a lot done!

Have a good evening everyone. :)

Breakfast started out a little nutty but all got better from there!

Breakfast: cup blueberries, lots of cereal and milk 540 sheesh!

snack: strawberries 60

lunch: yogurts: 150

snack: lg iced coffee 100

snack: strawberries 50

dinner: tbd - but including a boca frozen lasagna meal.

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

maria777 on 07/05/2008:
WOW!!! What a BIG TURNAROUND!!! You are really doing FANTASTIC!!! And eating real, real healthy, too! YAYYYY!!! So glad you and your Grandma spent some time together and got in a good walk together, too! Keep up the good work! So happy for you! Have a nice evening!

thinnsidenotout on 07/05/2008:

selina on 07/06/2008:
I can really feel fantastic/positive vibes coming from your new eating patterns! Congratulations! As for myself, I couldn't help but have some more of that jam in the middle of the night.... but, i am forgiving myself this second time. There won't be a third time because the whole jar is gone and I'm not buying it anymore.

selina on 07/06/2008:
I love summer rolls, too. I just didn't know it by this name. The best summer rolls I've ever had was when I travelled to Viet Nam, in Saigon, a few years ago. I wonder if they can come up with a winter roll and what it would look like. And autumn rolls...

Jen40 on 07/06/2008:
Hey I had summer rolls just the other day! Yummy. Great job on all the exercise, you're doing just marvelous. I'll stay away from that lasagna too.

Weight: 125.4

Saturday: big breakfast, cup blueberries, lots of cereal/milk: 540

I will most definitely be at yoga at 9:30am. Then, a fast change, pretty fast snack (maybe even just something to drink) and I'm off to buy sneakers for both myself and grandma (dad will pay me back for her's), possibly return pants, and then head off to visit grandma. Tonight I have nothing planned but I want to continue with my fitness. If the weather is nice, I might just walk more where she lives and then drive home.

Entry for Friday, July 4th:

no planned exercise, but lots of walking in NYC. That's good for me.

breakfast: blueberries

snack: nothing

late snack: diet drink, bit of a granola bar.

dinner: cheesecake factory: salad, summer rolls, quesadilla

total: 1200.

coney island was great! i went on the cyclone and walked around the boardwalk. BUT, i wasn't able to see the hot dog eating contest. i was there, but so i am so short i couldn't see a thing! it was still cool. perhaps i'll go really early next year. saw sex and the city movie tonight which was great too. a wonderful fun filled day!

have a lovely Saturday.

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

maria777 on 07/05/2008:
WOW, did you do fantastic yesterday with your 1200 calories!!! Sounds like you had a real good day and have another one planned for today spending time with your Grandma. Weight: 125.4

10 more pounds and I will be at 115 :) Why can't i do this?!? meaning, I can do this!!! (and stop the binging which is probably the bigger issue.)

I will try to aim for about 1500 calories today and 1200 (pretty low) tomorrow. I really want to have my act together tomorrow because it's my only day that I will be fully in charge of what i eat. today i'll be in coney island and sunday six flags. I don't want to be a nutcase with my friends so Saturday I'll have to stick to the plan and well as somewhat today. Sunday may include who knows.

Friday update: I know I can't fast all day so even though I woke up majorly bloated and full I had breakfast. i will have to eat better these two days and on Sunday I'll have to just be mindful (six flags great adventure).

breakfast: cup blueberries, WATER.

snack: bar with a good protein/carb/fiber balance that i buy somewhere before i get on the train to the city...I'm gonig to Coney Island today to see the hot dog eating championships. I might as well be in it - just like Thin said!

lunch: nervous

dinner: ahhh! cheesecake factory....

and if i didn't eat bad yesterday i could have went into today much less anxious.

update: 4,000 calories. peanut butter, cereal, granola bars and all.

still eating but so far...2450...had another dessert i don't know...i just want to enjoy the food right now. i don't know. I'm going to coney island tomorrow to watch the hot dog eating championships haha. so i don't know what the food selections might be for me later in the day. nor do i care at the moment. sunday i'll be in six flags. saturday i'll try to eat right.

although not so stressful, life has been busy with my new job. Overall, the roundtrip commute can be up to 1.5 hours or more if there's bad traffic. So, I have had less time to come on here! But it's ok. I'll make up by commenting on everyone's diary this evening.

breakfast: cereal, fruit, milk 210

snack: tofu, food bar: 300

early lunch/snack: food bar 230

lunch: BIG salad, spray dressing, tofu that i need to finish before it goes bad, fruit and nut bar. 295.

snack: soy crisps, small iced coffee 170

total so far: 1210 about. lookin good. It's going to be a late dinner, maybe I can make it small but I'm thinking something microwavable would be better.

exercise: not so much so far: only 1 mile. I may take a break for today and leave it at that!

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

thinnsidenotout on 07/03/2008:
AND less time to binge too uh huh!......Keep up the great work H_O_P

It's awesome that you're keeping busy and having fun! That's the best way to stay away from eating, especially if you pack meals before to take with! (whenever I do that the night before, thou, I end up eating most of it, but at least the next day is better cuz it's prepacked). Have fun and good luck!

Weight: 125.4

after some binging in the last two weeks, i'm finally back to my posted weight, 125.4.

Thursday: wow! last day of this workweek! it went so fast considering it's a new job!

breakfast: cereal, fruit, milk: 200

snack: tofu, energy bar: 300

lunch: yogurts, coffee 190 (I'm planning to buy some other drinks for next week)

snack: another energy bar (at least it has some fiber and a good mix of carbs) 230

dinner: salad...microwavable meal, possibly another energy bar or just a dessert. we'll have to see!

Wednesday entry:

walking during the workday: 2.5 miles! :) yup! and i plan to get in a little exercise AFTER dinner each evening. Tonight will be a short bike ride. after dinner is new for me because i used to exercise before dinner and eat too late. I think eating around 6:00-6:30 will be good, especially because that's around the time i get home from work and i get up earlier so an earlier dinner is good! Whenever i don't have a lot of carbs at dinner i feel denied and then i binge. so i'd rather have them with a slightly bigger dinner.

dinner: smart ones chicken enchilada, LOTS of veggies, and a protein bar for dessert. 660 calories.

breakfast: 1 cup puffed corn, 1/2 cup all bran, cinnamon, 1 cup light milk (only 45 calories it's the Hood Calorie Countdown milk!), 1/2 cup blueberries 200.

total calories: 1580. I can't complain.

snack: dried fruit, nut, and seed bar (i need something different bc the apple is not working) 230

snack: tofu 70

lunch: yogurts, TEA - 150 ... haha and coffee 40

snack: weight watchers bar i think - 230 calories so good! chocolate chip cookie dough.

I am going to try to make more satisfying food choices and try to balance my menu so it contains more of a mix of choices throughout the day.

Progress as of today: 9.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

I bought a couple Smart Ones dinners today while grocery shopping, I hope they're tasty! The WW icecreams are AWESOME. I bought more of those too. OOh I love dried fruit but haven't gotten brave enough yet, I'm expirimenting to see what I can get away with! lol

I like to have an early dinner too. We are kind of in a weird habit. I put on a crock pot meal for the kids and they eat between 4 - 5. I eat around 5 then my husband comes home and eats at 6 :30. Needless to say - eating as a family never happens except on Sunday after church. It's kind of OK b/c kids are busy with activities and can eat when they need to, but sometimes I feel like we're not "All American" because we don't have a normal family dinner time - but my kids assure me that they are not 'scarred' from the lack of family dinners :)

That's a good idea and great day you had. Oh, I went back to Bikram last night. Almost died hahaha, in a good way. I just remembered how demanding it is from your body. Awesome!

lunch: yogurts, TEA - 150

dinner: salad, dressing, microwave string beans/almonds, tofu, blueberries.

I am going to try to make more satisfying food choices and try to balance my menu so it contains more of a mix of choices throughout the day.

Tuesday evening entry:

i did walk after dinner for about 1 hour. i'd like to estimate my walk was about 3 miles, maybe a little less.

so, based on that, at least I got in a good number of miles today. at least 5.

dinner was actually a binge. hmmm, it looks like my efforts have been sorta derailed the past couple weeks. I must get back on the ball. however, today wasn't terrible in calories although dinner was WAY overboard.

dinner: I'm not listing all foods but I will say that it was 1300 calories!

total calories: 2350.

early evening entry:

need to get LOTS of veggies in tonight because i have missed them greatly since not eating a single one yesterday!

Like Whoa! Very tired today at work...it's good I wasn't doing anything too important. lol.

I walked on my morning/afternoon breaks (only for like 5-10 minutes each) and at lunch for about 30 minutes. I also walked from my car to the office and both ways is practically 1 mi total round trip, now that I checked. Therefore, just for my day at work I've already walked about 2.5 miles. :) or at least 2 miles! The rest of the day all I do is sit so I love to use my breaks wisely. ;)

foodwise, i need to think of a better snack in the morning and have it earlier perhaps. Maybe a protein bar. Because I've been getting way too hungry in the morning. I'm satisfied during the afternoon.

breakfast: fruit, cereal, milk 250

snack: apple 150

lunch: yogurts, TWO cups coffee with WHOLE milk...300 I only wanted one cup but i was still hungry.

snack: adkins bar that was VERY tasty 200

snack: cucumber 30, tomato, broccoli with lt dressing: total 170

total so far 1070 :).

HUbby just called me and he is headed home..Got let off of a 2 week trial for a drive-by shooting (murder)....He told them on a couple questions that he would be biased..They let him go for today! I believe it involved an illegal alien..We have lots of those in our area....We are not prejudice, but do believe in the law being in tact.... He has to call back after 5 tonight to see if he reports again tomorrow a.m.....

Your day looks good my friend...Your job sounds kinda fun...But, I am a 14 year stay-at-home mom too.... Anything sounds fun..Wouldn't trade my kids for a million bucks ever though...

Have a great evening....Good Walking!

Jen40 on 07/01/2008:
I miss working! Sounds like a good day.

mmuraro on 07/01/2008:

I also ate too much for dinner, last night. I know I eat healthy, but I eat way too much. I must put into practice that portion control thing - its definetly easier said than done.

Great job on all the walking!
