10a: Breakfast: half small banana and coffee 100; small apricot 50, oats 150, golden raisins 150, almond milk negl, chocolate keto chips great brand 50. 500...satisfying, good fiber too.

1p-1:30 Lunch: 2 small apricots 50; grilled tofu (that's how it's labeled/packaged) 100; some light and very tasty popcorn new brand flavor is truffle salt 250, beer small amount 100

4p Snacks: kidney beans 100; gummies 100. i know, weird! 

5P cooked veggies from store, carrots/broccoli some oil not much 100

6P 2 milano cookies, orange flavor 150

8p Dinner: tofu 100, veggie soup 150. 2 mint milanos 150.

1850...skipped exercise, wasn't feeling it.

Call GEICO about auto insurance bill going up 10% this time - PAY GEICO on Delta card. DONE!

Bike Ride Today Outside (or inside if time runs out) for improving cardio;

8/6/22- Saturday - New Hope, PA  Peach Festival !!!!!- Basically first "trip" since covid & since my last trips in 2019!!  Pick up Christine & Drive down early morning Saturday; stay Saturday Night overnight hotel; Spend the day Sunday; drive back Sunday after Dinner.  It's an artsy town on the water - walking around Peddler's Village which is all artsy and shopping. I plan to ride the carousel! Staying at the hotel on the grounds - Golden Inn. 

I was thinking to plan another overnight with Christine for July, but i realize just going to the beach takes a lot out of me and that I should try to save most of my vacation days for later this year/next year.....so the Peach Festival should be enough this summer; along with trips to the typical beaches we go to...

 8/7/22 - Sunday - New Hope, PA Peach Festival!!!! - 

 8/8/22 Monday - Sick Day #2/5 - Day off after trip, most probably. - Weights today?

9.26.22 - Monday - Rosh Hashannah (Come to work - DO NOT stay late; & take Friday off instead...) - dad of course annoyed i plan to work, but i have to live MY OWN LIFE. and i Have to do what's best for me at this point - i do NOT feel bad about it.

 9.30.22 Fri - Vacation Day #2/15 Day off -  Critical Thinking Course (i did this course once around 5 years ago - different topics each time - I believe this will be about union / Local 3 history). overnight at union grounds out east- fri night/sat night- out east at the Long Island Educational Center thru union. Going with Leslie, thankfully. It's 2hrs away.  I will try to go with her and her BF in same car. I can pay half the gas...Either drive this evening or early tomorrow morning. I'm leaning towards early Saturday morning drive....leslie not working for union, need to contact her, i may be going alone...or parents to drive me and go out with me (which i'd appreciate - it's a two hour drive each way, minimum).

10.1.22 Saturday Critical Thinking (stay overnight, paid for by union, nice perk of being a member and nice experience and knowledge - i support learning and education..)

10.2.22 Sunday - Critical Thinking Breakfast, then drive back home soon after.

i'm a bit tired today...beach will be a long haul for tomorrow. i'm thinking to skip weights today due to feeling quite tired...but i know it's better that i do them, so we'll see!...I may just be tired bc i have not been doing very much, aside from laundry.

yeah, a quick visit next door down the short hallway.

the pets were so good to me (a cat and dog) came to hang out with me. the cat was loving. a nice house cat.

7.8.22 Fri - Walking before work: yes, just over 20 min!!!!! and that includes a quick shower before leaving my apt! helps to get up with the alarm!!!

Breakfast: small banana and coffee 150; small amount of biscotti 200 i think. pb 100..450...

Snacks: pb 100, some of biscotti / banana above already counted...pb again 100.

Lunch: i think it's going to be pizza?; with leftover soup broth and veggie 100/no meat in it (didn't know until defrosted), brown rice 150, jalepeno goldfish crackers 150. 400...I FELT SOOOO HEALTHY HAVING THIS HOMEAMDE SOUP!!!!

Snacks: pretzels/choc 100

Large orange - maybe have it at home100

Dinner: popcorn 150, gummy vits negl, tofu 100, cooked veggies large serving 150. 400. low sugar gummies 100.

9:30p after hour walk outside, gummies regular 100

Pick up Rx & Stop at supermarket on way home for some fruit for the week; and anything else i may need....DONE!

Walk to park after work  - Kissena Park.    walked around community in late evening.

I like the website Investopedia for short, clear explanations on financial concepts. I would use this website to help me understand unfamiliar terms when I read "The Big Short", which is a good book, but was not a good movie, in my opinion.

I love how you wrote that it helps to get up with the alarm. That is SO true. I have 2 alarms set, 5am and 5:15am. Either one gives me loads of time. It's when I struggle to get out of bed - like this morning - and my start is delayed.

The soup sounds so good!

yes, agreed on the alarm.

i really don't want the pizza, as the soup is sufficient. reason i chose it is it was already at work in freezer...and therefore very convenient.

next week i am planning on lunch menus out of frozen, convenient foods that i have already; and some sauteed veggies for the sides.

i also gained weight, under 5 lbs, but shows in bathing suit along with my lost muscle.

been working more on limiting calories some days when i can. i noticed the scale moving now back in the right direction....although my weight this AM was exceedingly low due to lack of a real dinner; so i know it's not my "real" weight but a faked lower weight due to eating lack of volume yesterday; if that makes sense. it will go back up a little after eating full meals for the day today into tomorrow..but i am also glad my choices are helping me lose the few pounds...or it would also keep spiraling up as i like to eat.

i didn't want to be to "obvious" but i can be obvious in my comments to you.

Delta airlines - they have a AMEX (American Express credit card) and i got approved to use it.

i was checking flights last weekend with friend Joyce and was shocked to see that i could get a flight with Delta (free) i think it was from Guatamala to Miami. However, the dolalr amount was $500 for her.

With american airlines (thru Citibank which is actually my regular bank so i like that i pay that using my banking app...but it doesn't really matter, i might make a spreadsheet to make sure i check all apps for all cards weekly to make sure i'm to date with my payments)...anyways, American Airlines offers a rewards card (i think Mastercard) and it's thru Citibank...and there's a threshold amount just like Delta to pay and then you get a lot of Bonus Points.

The American Airlines flights from Guatamala to Miami were under $200...and Joyce will have to pay her share....

So i got a card after seeing that Delta wasn't a good deal for Joyce so i can get my American Airlines flight free and she pays hers.

Delta i may save for next year use as the bonus points don't usually expire.

what happened was, after looking at flights; i saw that the Delta card/ Delta flights weren't good for this trip in February...

so i went on to get the American Airlines card (mastercard i believe thru Citibank) .

for a hotel, there's a mariott card, i am thinking to get it for the equivalent of a free night that will be used also while in Miami...

trying to get a lot of savings towards the cost of the February trip...

some airlines are good for trips to certain places, and i learned that after reviewing flights, etc...

But the Delta one will be good for future, if i do not use it this February trip (planning to travel a bit the next two years).

the threshold i mean is you have to pay your bills at least $2000 on the cards in 3 months was the threshold for both these cards to get the big bonus rewards.

so i'm paying my maintenance and any other bills to reach that. it is easy for me to reach that threshold. my maintenance is 1k per month. and then i can add other bills, etc, to reach it. will be easy to get what i want out of the cards in my benefit.

for instance, i have car insurance due; at least $600...so that's another large bill to place on these cards to reach the $2000 threshold to gain the bonus miles/points for free airfare.

and thinking to go Swimming with Dolphins as an experience with Joyce in Miami...like the highlight of the trip. :)

and if we stay more than one night, probably, at the miami hotel (i may treat her if it's only one extra night...since i'm not paying for guatamala even though i'm sure the per night in guatamala would be rather cheap)....lol

yes....i have only had my regular citibank points card that i used a lONG time ago in 2013 or so to go to Canada (free - maybe free even 2x! bc i went several times there)...

and i got the Jet Blue first ever airline card rewards directly in 2019...never used the points. it was a small reward, but may satisfy 2 of the flights for this vacation! :)

rewards are best. it is BEST to spend money on a credit card rather than cash and pay it back bc you get rewards on cards, but not for cash payments! !!! yay.

11a small KIND thins bar from coworker 100...

Lunch: 100 egg, brown rice 100; cucumber sliced up with dressing 200; coworker just gave me less than 1/2 avocado too. 100. 500 total.... 

Snacks: large orange on way home? fiber bar 150 .

5p snacks at home before biking: strawberries 50, yogurt 150. 200

Dinner: little bit of strawberry lager (beer - not very strawberry-tasting, but in my fridge from last summer or so). 100.

1500 - 1600.

similar to last night sauteed veggies, add tofu;  AND/OR sliced veggies / salad with dressing..; boil a ravioli package from freezer!

Outdoor biking tonight  and walking 30 min...after errands.

9.26.22 - Monday - Rosh Hashannah (Come to work - DO NOT stay late; & take Friday off instead...) - dad of course annoyed i plan to work, but i have to live MY OWN LIFE. and i Have to do what's best for me at this point - i do NOT feel bad about it.

 9.30.22 Fri - Vacation Day #2/15 Day off -  Critical Thinking Course (i did this course once around 5 years ago - different topics each time - I believe this will be about union / Local 3 history). overnight at union grounds out east- fri night/sat night- out east at the Long Island Educational Center thru union. Going with Leslie, thankfully. It's 2hrs away.  I will try to go with her and her BF in same car. I can pay half the gas...Either drive this evening or early tomorrow morning. I'm leaning towards early Saturday morning drive....leslie not working for union, need to contact her, i may be going alone...or parents to drive me and go out with me (which i'd appreciate - it's a two hour drive each way, minimum).

Lunch -  a slice of bday cake -coworker's bday today! 400. really want coffee to fill up, but too many bosses are here....so gum and water it is...

Snacks: maybe orange 100 & small kind bar 100, might not be hungry... 

Voluminous! Dinner: my lightly stir fried veggies (bean sprouts, japanese eggplant, green peppers), large serving, several cups worth - 400 light sauce, small leftover summer roll 50, a lot of chips bc i knew i had the calories but still went a little too crazy 450 (3 servings tortilla chips). Total 900, good. (would have been better to have two servings tortilla chips but these are rather healthy and prob some fiber too. is ok overall - they were very enjoyable to eat).

evening snacks: strawberries during workout; small bit of "grilled tofu" which is how it comes; very nice flavor and quite firm consistency; 100 total here.

9:30p after workout - 2 milano cookies 150 or so.

8/6/22- Saturday - New Hope, PA  Peach Festival !!!!!- Basically first "trip" since covid & since my last trips in 2019!!  Pick up Christine & Drive down early morning Saturday; stay Saturday Night overnight hotel; Spend the day Sunday; drive back Sunday after Dinner.  It's an artsy town on the water - walking around Peddler's Village which is all artsy and shopping. I plan to ride the carousel! Staying at the hotel on the grounds - Golden Inn. 

I was thinking to plan another overnight with Christine for July, but i realize just going to the beach takes a lot out of me and that I should try to save most of my vacation days for later this year/next year.....so the Peach Festival should be enough this summer; along with trips to the typical beaches we go to...

i have done it once....my dad knocked me in the head with a paddle accidentally....this river isn't the hardest. going to the same river...it really depends on the season and how hard the water is flowing...i think there's different difficulty levels of different rivers for this....

it's good arm exercise :) and very different movements and sights :)

You are wise to let go of a raise - right now, at least. I'm seeing little signs of a contracting economy - which is probably just part of keeping the economy on a healthy cycle, of ups and downs. The title company that we mainly use, overreacted once again, and laid off 20% of its staff NOW in anticipation of a slowing real estate market. (So we all have to suffer with less title company resources even though we're still relatively busy in the summer. Total overreaction.) But when I heard that news, I thought of you, because I know you've been waiting patiently.

Also, I wanted to THANK you for giving me some straight talk about "calories in / calories out". I know exactly where you were coming from with that advice, and I appreciate that. PLEASE - keep reminding me of this, when you feel it appropriate. PLEASE! :-)

so glad you did. me too. was just talking to very fit neighbor 5 yrs older than me...i asked her about it....she says she loves weights. she is much fitter than me; and her waist and arms and whole body look leaner bc she's at a higher level of training...i may start to go downwards in the weight of my dumbells soon, for a better range of motion.

she didn't say anything about lighter dumbells, that's just me knowing that with getting older, a better form is probably what i need soon - to avoid injury and even for better muscle tone if i have a better range of motion. i'm just nervous that once i start lifting lighter, i will get weaker. so, it's on the horizon to lift lighter (and slower) but maybe not just yet.

8/6/22- Saturday - New Hope, PA  Peach Festival -  Pick up Christine & Drive down early morning Saturday; stay Saturday Night overnight hotel; Spend the day Sunday; drive back Sunday after Dinner.  It's an artsy town on the water - walking around Peddler's Village which is all artsy and shopping. I plan to ride the carousel! Staying at the hotel on the grounds - Golden Inn. 

I was thinking to plan another overnight with Christine for July, but i realize just going to the beach takes a lot out of me and that I should try to save most of my vacation days for later this year/next year.....so the Peach Festival should be enough this summer; along with trips to the typical beaches we go to...

you are right! and since this movie came out, called "Fire Island," on i think netflix or hulu?.....it was a LOT more crowded! we noticed right away bc i had to park in a farther lot than we ever have to get a spot before walking to the ferry. Christine and I came to the conclusion that one of the reasons was due to the movie...bc we also felt the crowd was a lot younger than in the past (it could be us getting older, but i think it also had to do with the movie). also, it was Sunday on a holiday weekend with Monday off...so i guess a popular "staycation" place to go for folks on Long Island / Queens, etc.

The cheese pinwheels were not humongous, but yes pretty big. i felt they were rich, in the amount of dough and the cheese. reminded me of a bagel but a bit larger and with the cheese/spinach filling. i round up to try not to underestimate the calories instead, since i really rely on calorie counting.

thanks for your comments, do not feel bad about not commenting daily. i'm unable to do it anymore until a work/job change. thing are a bit fast paced for me and sometimes i don't have the mindset to respond here in the same manner i used to....just life changes, etc. i know you get it <3 in the future, i believe i may possibly be more active here again with commenting more regularly. just do not see it happening for many months/year.

7.2.22 Sat - slept in easily until around 10a. dad called me and kinda woke me up...and it was time to get up!

Smallish breakfast, 10:30-11:30. ripe plantain (uncooked) large amount 150, coffee 50, granola bar 100. 300.

Lunch: with cousin, Lots of broccoli with garlic sauteed but lightly and not tons of oil. very nice. 150; part of a spinach and cheese pinweel. 350-400. seltzer. 550. good.

7.1.22 Fri My Aim is to walk before work so weights can be done tonight. - just over 20min this morning's walk - success!

Breakfast: soft mini corn muffin 100, pb 100, banana/coffee 100.

snacks: pb 50. mini corn muffin 100, pb 100...

1:45p Lunch: Veggie 100, soup 100, hard boiled egg 100, jalepeno goldfish crackers (or toast with butter) tbd cals 100 i think; grapes/pretzels 100, smallish croissant 200, ketchup 50, 500 tops.

got out of work an hour early, nice, at 2:30/2:45....home around 4p. also nice.....

Drink on way home...caffeinated bubbly seltzer....

4:30pm snacks at home: 2 larger gummies 50, coffee small 50, 2 wafers 100. 200...put one guinea pig fleece in wash and will start my workout around 5:30, which is earlier than i would have started coming home at my normal time!

5:30 more snacking: small pack dried fruit/nut mix 150, dried jackfruit 100, seltzer

7pm 2 more gummies - 50....yogurt greek plain, stevia, 150, tart cherry in sauce 50. 200...

Dinner: tbd -not sure, but it won't be takeout i don't think bc i'm already home and didn't pick up anything on the way. i may even chop up a salad later as i have a cucumber and peppers in the fridge now..

9:30p late night snack near end of workout (i really spread out the workout, but it was still a good one) cream of wheat, almond milk, some of a plaintain, keto chcolate chips. 250

Outdoor Biking tonight after work, outdoors...(purposely still skipping weights to work on my cardio and on the bike so i'm working my other muscles. as well, with the slight hills in my neighborhood, biking is harder at the moment than walking. it's a great workout. i also found a better route that is a little safer - a long street (avenue as it's called) with bike lanes on both sides. it's called 73rd avenue and has a little less traffic as well as slower speeds than the other route i was taking previously.  It is safer bc of the bike lanes...and just long enough to be a decent workout before i get to a large intersection which is my turnaround spot to come back home.

7.3.22 Sun - Really trying to make this the Beach day, not tomorrow (based on weather)......

Leave apt around 9:30am to get on 11:30a ferry: Ocean Beach on Fire Island (not the gay part), Weather permitting; going to Christine's fave beach , hour drive out east and a short ferry ride to get there - nice for a long weekend.


7/4/22 - July 4th Monday - sleep in! - probably spending the day mostly home prepping for the week, relaxing, bc i have work tomorrow.

Noon?? - Video chat with Joyce (french friend that i'm going to Guatamala with) to discuss things in general and our trip...checking out flights and options, exact dates, etc...finalizing. 

Food shopping

Laundry including guinea pig fleeces

Outdoor biking today

Weights today

so it will be a nice, long weekend with today a Holiday! -  

thinking to dye roots today.

7.29.22 - Friday - Maybe Vacation Day #1 ??? - may take this day - before going Rafting with dad tomorrow - and also may drive to destination below later today?

7.30.22 - Saturday Potential Date (will be cancelled if not enough people sign up)  Whitewater Rafting Trip in Jim Thorpe, PA on the Lehigh River with dad & the Welfare Club 

7.31.22 - Sunday - 

Important: Pay July Maintenance bill on Delta rewards/miles card to get welcome bonus miles.

8/5/22 Friday - Sick Day #1/5 Day off before road trip with C. Day off to take care of stuff - perhaps laundry/cleaning, etc. and of course Weights workout most probably...

8/6/22- Saturday - New Hope, PA  Peach Festival -  Pick up Christine & Drive down early morning Saturday; stay Saturday Night overnight hotel; Spend the day Sunday; drive back Sunday after Dinner.  It's an artsy town on the water - walking around Peddler's Village which is all artsy and shopping. I plan to ride the carousel! Staying at the hotel on the grounds - Golden Inn. 

I was thinking to plan another overnight with Christine for July, but i realize just going to the beach takes a lot out of me and that I should try to save most of my vacation days for later this year/next year.....so the Peach Festival should be enough this summer; along with trips to the typical beaches we go to...

8/7/22 - Sunday - New Hope, PA Peach Festival - 

8/8/22 Monday - Sick Day #2/5 - Day off after trip most probably.




9.25.22 - Sunday - Rosh Hashannah (New Year) Begins in evening (just a reminder - FIO)....

9.26.22 - Monday - Rosh Hashannah (Come to work & take Friday off instead...)

9.30.22 Fri - Vacation Day #2/15 Day off (instead of 9.26.22) -  Critical Thinking Course (i did this course once around 5 years ago - different topics each time - I believe this will be about union / Local 3 history) overnight - fri/sat - out east at the Long Island Educational Center thru union. Going with Leslie, thankfully. It's 2hrs away.  I will try to go with her and her BF in same car. I can pay half the gas...Either drive this evening or early tomorrow morning. I'm leaning towards early Saturday morning drive....

10.1.22 Saturday - Critical Thinking 

10.2.22 Sunday - Critical Thinking Breakfast, then drive back home.

10.3.22 - Monday - Go to work, push thru, and continue with plans to take Wednesday off as planned....


10.4.22 - Tuesday- Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) begins in evening

10.5.22 - Wednesday - Yom Kippur Day Off - Sick Day #3/5

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

I've been reading ahead to your weekend plans! I love that Monday's #1 is to sleep in - right?!? Seriously, though, it sounds like you have a really nice long weekend coming up.

yes....and it's easy to beat the lack of nutrition of a hot dog haha ;)....not the best quality, hot dogs.
