total exercise: 70. not good because really no cardio. 60 yoga and 10 for biking there and back.

i did meet up with a friend tonight and we stopped by a fair...went on the ferris wheel! it was a good change of pace, i'll tell you that!

Thanks for the comment! :-) I see you are a band instructor! I have a degree in music. I mainly play flute, but other instruments as well. Don't ask me how I ended up working in the health care industry - I'm not sure myself!

I was SO glad to see you went to the FAIR! Good job - having fun! Do something fun again soon! I plan to follow my own advice on that, too! Congratulations on June challenge time! WOO HOO! Your salmon dinner from yesterday sounded great! Also - I think it's a good idea going on the liquid (sort of) diet for a day or two to get rid of "bloat". It works sometimes to give the system a brief rest. Hope it helped. Good reminder for me to do that sometimes!

total exercise for June: 36 hrs, 45 min.

I guess this is my final total for June! Definitely WAY better than any other month this year. I may have even tripled my exercise minutes this month from what my usualper month minutes are...which i don't know, i never calculated!! Last month I calculated that I had 18 hrs and 10 min! So, this doubles last month's total! yay!

Total exercise today: 130 min (60 yoga, 10 bike, 60 treadmill.)

Total Calories: 1660. pretty good. healthy salmon dinner. whole fillet, corn on the cob, salad, one slice of grilled squash.

edit: I'm going to try to eat low cal the next few days...focussing once again on what i did yesterday. I want my overall intake over the past 100 days to only be a little over 1800. I would rather the intake be under 1800, but it's not really possible. It'll take a few more days. but, i think if i eat only 1,000 calories for the next week straight I will end up binging at the end. I don't know. That's what I figure from past experience.


arg! My plans for the 3 day diet I had have been interrupted. Tonight I will be eating dinner with my family as my grandmother is coming over and I cannot decline. So, foods were good today...but i did splurge a little on lunch and a snack later. So, it's 3:23 and calories are up to 1,010 or so. We're eating salmon I think...which is very healthy, but has a lot of calories. oh well. at least calories for the whole day are not out of this world high!

I'll update tonight.

U and I must be just about the same person! We both have "weird" eating habits - or what other people consider them to be but we dont care! And we shouldnt because we KNOW we eat healthy! Watching everyone eat junk food just makes me think how much more healthy I am than them!! I cannot believe you dont have a boyfriend or husband, I could have sworn by the way you talk you did, but oh well: typing can be deceiving! So you live at home with your family? Luckily I dont have to hide anything when it comes to food at my house because my mom and sister eat the exact same way as me! (A bit less though, haha) and my dad jsut makes fun of me but atleast I can take a joke. So any new food finds? DO you sweeten your coffee (if you drink coffee) with Stevia? That stuff is awesome! And they have tincatures that are many different flavors which are great too! Nice job during June!! Lets see if you can make JULY an even better month! haha!! OOOO SALMON for dinner huh? How was it and how was it cooked? Thats my dinner tomorrow: cant wait...haha, is that strange that I am looking forward to dinner tomorrow night? LOL

total workout time today: 145 minutes (60 yoga, 45 cardio, 10 bike, 30 weights)

total calories: 1,035 (consisting of different kinds of tofu, juice, kombucha tea sweetened with juice, diet snapple, yogurts, latte)

I am going to eat this diet for 3-7 days, depending. I will most probably switch it up a bit, especially in the drinks department.

I am trying to clean out my digestive system from bulky foods...i've abused it recently.

I really hope to keep this up...obviously not a long term diet. I wouldn't want to live on only this stuff forever, now!

Just an FYI -- my friend went on a supervised cleanse (liquids and fasting), and hers lasted for 3 days. That is to say, it is planned for 3 days and that's what she did. So maybe see how it goes for 3 days and re-evaluate. She went on her cleanse for the same reason you did, abused her system, felt like she needed a break and wanted a fresh start. She did have to be careful about her exercising though because she would get lightheaded if it was near the time to drink. Just something to keep in mind... :-)

Thank you for the encouragement and the advise! I think I have been so focused on trying to eat fruit that I've neglected to eat enough veggies! I really love salad, and raw vegetables, but I just can't seem to find a fat-free dressing I like. Any suggestions?

i'm going on a diet of my own concoction the next few days. It'll be liquid based. I'll let you know how it goes. I need something different to get me unbloated and out of this sorta slump. also, i don't have too many obligation right now, so it's a good time to do it.

total cal: 2700

total june exercise: 32 hrs, 10 min.

total exercise: ......60 yoga. not so good. on my butt all day. but, i did accomplish some work.

...well, i guess it had to come sooner or later.

i splurged on lunch. this time, feeling more in control, bit still opting to overindulge. better luck tomorrow, i suppose.

breakfast calories: 325. Lunch calories: an overwhelming 2241...accomplished through lots of cookies, chips, and peanut butter.

total calories: 2566.

Isn't it amazing how many calories are packed into cookies and chips? Far to easy to go off the deep end. Just my 9 Oreos the other day was 450 cals a hit. Oof!

Now having sympathized with your plight, please... do NOT use your lunch as an excuse to continue bingeing the rest of the day. So you had a big lunch. OK fine. It's done. Move forward. Drink water, green tea. Stay active, busy. Have a light supper. It can still be a good day, HoP!!!

Hi,don't feel sorry for my hubby he is probably glad he is downstairs as he was getting shouted at and prodded in the night with a threat of being knifed at one time, that is how bad it got.He had his nose broken when he was younger so i think that is where the problem stems from.I've put up with it for 14yrs so enough is enough!!It was either this solution or the divorce courts seriously.Don't worry i won't kill him HA!HA!Take care,Julie

exercise was fabuloso today! (June total = 31 hrs, 10 min) too awesome! I will never be able to fit this kind of exercise in during the year. oh, but that would be nice, wouldn't it!?

total exercise: 160 minutes! yes! (yoga 60, elliptical 60, bike 10, weights 30)

total calories: a cool 1500 on the dot! yay! very happy. i even had a 600 calorie dinner...since i didn't have a snack this afternoon. dinner was complete with a lovely banana filled dessert.

time to practice studying my score and practice my instrument.

it seems i leave these things till the end...which is really a poor plan. well, not really. if i don't get out of the house first thing in the morning, i find myself being unproductive for the rest of the day! so, i guess i'm better off waiting to study till later. at least i got a good deal of exercise in!

Today's journal entry is to vent.

I lost out on a job I thought i had for sure. I am sad because when i asked the director for feedback on my interviews and demo lesson, she said that my lesson was awesome and i was awesome with the kids. she said that others on the last interview committee (the third round of interviewing) thought i would work better with students who are wealthy and can afford private lessons! wow. that is not at all what i would expect ANYONE to say about me. first of all, i worked with similiar students this year to the job i was applying for, and it was wonderful. they weren't rich and still many took private lessons. also, private lessons do not have to be expensive. you can get the from a high school musician who wants to do it for credits or for school. i'm really upset. i thought i wouldn't have to interview for the rest of the summer! wrong.

oh, and don't get me wrong, i didn't talk about private lessons for a long time or any large portion of the interview. it is a teacher's job to mention an opportunity to take private lessons to their students. so i said that. i'm angry.

You know, people will pull any reason out of a hat (or other place) to justify their selections. That may or may not have been their reasoning for not selecting you. Sounds to me like someone was splitting hairs.

So it's ok to be angry, and I think you have every right to be angry. And disappointed and frustrated. But keep in mind that even though this is the feedback that you got, it may or may not be entirely true and doesn't really reflect on your abilities or your performance at the interview.

I agree with Donkey. You can't be sure you are getting truthful feedback. Saying you would do better with richer kids could be the same thing as saying you are overqualified or they think you will move on too quickly. It's difficult to read between the lines and probably not worth dwelling on to long.

Happy Monday!

Exercise: wowsers...150 minutes!!!! yeah, that's right! (60 yoga, 60 cardio, 30 weights)

Calories: 1500 on the dot!

The start of my day has been going well! I had a good breakfast, rode my bike to yoga, and it was a great class! I had a large lunch after yoga, but its already getting late in the day. so, its ok. It was 590 calories. also, i'll be out of the house during a prime time to binge...the early afternoon. so, that won't happen!

now for a different issue: I always like for my weekly average calories to equal 1800 or lower. well, I was really off track for awhile. and, i'm still trying to get the average down for the past 88 days!!! haha, i keep adding each day into the average until it will eventually reach right below 1800 as the average. so, right now, for 88 days, my average is 1873. I wonder how long it will take to reach just under 1800. By the end of the summer, it should definitely be there. Hopefully before that. I keep wanting to just start counting my weekly calories over, but then I'm defeating the purpose of keeping running totals that eventually end when I'm slightly below 1800- like 1798 would be fine. also, once the total average goes down...weight is also lost! there is a reason for my madness.

Oh yes, now I remember when I first joined DD. You were the one who averaged her caloric intake throughout the week. So even though you might have had a "bad" day, you eventually made up for it during the week. You know, I think that worked for you. (Correct me gently if I'm wrong.) I think that's how healthy eating should be anyway. Some days you're going to eat more just by chance of variety of what you eat. And other days you're going to eat less, either by choice or because of lack of time.

I would hope that you could get back to that point. It seemed to me as though your eating (bingeing) was much better (and in control) back then. Perhaps you disagree, which is fine. But if you could have more days like today, that would be great! Or even half a day, either the exercise OR the calories. That would be a good day in my book as well. Keep up the good work!

HEY HEY HEY! Thanks so much for your advice & comments!!! And to answer your queston - yes I have tried rejuvenative foods and they are pretty good although I did try one type and there was just way to much salt, but oh well - most of them are pretty good...I am just not a huge fan of carrots and most of the flavors had them in it except for 2 I think...It stinks though because in my small town I cannot go out to the store and buy it, I can only order it on line but...I need to cut down on my ordering of foods! hahaha! PS: I sure hope you use a calculator when you calculate your calories!! If you dont: WOW you must be AMAZING AT MATH! ahha! Does your husband/boyfriend find it strange that you do this? I sort of keep my calorie counting private so no one knows because I am a little embarassed by it...but sometimes I cannot even keep track of my calories because I gorge sooo much on salads and such: like tonight: I had a tuna nisciose salad (provoncial salad) and it was so good I couldnt stop: alteast there was no dressing on it! hha but still: there were olives & eggs! haha OHHH WELL: sometimes calorie counting is overrated but most of the time it is what keeps us SANE!

Hey HOP!!! I can relate to the soar butt from riding the bike for long periods of time!!! I used to have the same problem but since I bought a Recumbent bike I no longer have that problem!! I bought the recumbent bike for the purpose of saving my tooshie from the torture of the hard seat!!! It doesn't hurt at all on the bike I have now, only my legs get soar and tired from the actual work-out!

Hey HOP!! I just wanted to say Thank-you so much for your comments on my diary. You've always been so sweet and encouraging with everyone here. I was very happy when my "before" picture was taken, at least right at that moment! I was visiting some friends that moved out of town and I hadn't seen them for a while so it was really great to see them again. Also that particular pic was taken last New Years Eve so I had been drinking a little....that always helps the mood, ha,ha!!! I really wasn't happy with myself at that point though....I actually wore a vest for most of the night because I was feeling so self conscious about my weight and my tummy at the time.

Sounds like you had a terrific day yesturday with both calories and exercise, way to go!! Your really good at keeping your calories nice and low, I always seem to struggle to keep mine around 1500, I usually end up closer to 1600 or 1700. I guess it would have something to do with all the great healthy stuff you eat, especially all those veggies!!!! I see that your still struggling with some binge eating due to stress, I know you were managing to have some control over your binges in the past....I'm sure you'll manage to get back to that place. I admire your consistancy with these entries and always managing to get it together the day after a binge!!! I hope today is a successful day for you, you really did amazing on Sunday, great job!!

calories: 1705. i need to watch my morning and lunchtime/afternoon eating better. this is especially the case at lunch. i overstuff myself. but, mainly, i will try to plan better what i am eating and not go for anthing else afterwards!

edit #1: my large lunch ended around 2pm. then, at 4:30, i had a slight binge on a cherry yogurt, all bran cereal and soymilk, and an english muffin. so, 430 useless calories that were very tasty...but i wasn't hungry. it was the head hunger. i get like that when i try to do work/study. so, today's calories are certainly not at 1500. if i'm not that hungry later, i'll have a yogurt or something. i hope. calories are currently 1645.


just stopping in to say my day is going well.

i did yoga this morning...after taking like a month off! as usual, it was great!

breakfast calories were ok: 350 snack: 85 Lunch: too much, but satisfyingly good, 720! I plan on sticking with 1500 today, i'll update later!

Lots of bike riding/walking/elliptical, too!

Hi HoP, looks like you have had a bit of a mixed week, foodwise, but are coming out on the good side at the moment. Keep it up and avoid the binges, and you will lose those very few pounds you want to. You are so close to a goal that I personally know I could never attain. Keep to the satisfying foods and kill those binges !!!

Hi there HOP! Just catching up with you. Quickly reviewed your week. You ave doing pretty good! Keep up the good work. I wish I had as many exercise minutes as you! You know, I think I don't hear as much anxiety in your posts when you talk about the days with too many calories. I hope that is a true reflection and not just my wishful reading! I have always said on the AVERAGE you are most wonderful. I understand about striving to be moderate consistently, though. I am the same way in many ways. Keep on keeping on!
