Donkey on 12/11/2019:
Maybe the meds are causing to lose weight?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/11/2019:
maybe, but i doubt it. i should look them up.

when i had surgery and stuff, the first 2 days i hardly ate. and i was eating a little less going into this whole thing around 2 months ago. so, the few days all caught up in addition to also a fasting day for the Jewish religion...

i do not think it's the meds, but, i'll check that.

I was anxious this morning on the train and also had a panic attack while driving yesterday on the highway and had to pull over. i'm hopeful that i'll get over these feelings by taking a breather. any suggestions you have, i'm open to them all. After being back to work a week, it seems i need to work on some things now that are coming back some unwelcome, but, i can get over them, i know...although it's frustrating to face some of the anxious thoughts again.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 12/09/2019:
It's a good thing you pulled over when you felt the need to. When i find myself getting anxious...I reassure myself that I am fine...and I notice if my shoulders are up around my ears....apparently that is my first reaction to anxiety....when I relax my shoulders and tell myself I'm fine then I do relax a bit. I hear biofeedback can help if you have access to that....check out the side affects of any meds you take. Speaking to your doctor about it is important. But know that no one is happy all of the time, over the years i have come to realize that not dwelling on things that make us nervous helps but that things will always get better...so always keep that in mind. There will be better days and times...You are a good person and you deserve to be happy and relaxed.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/09/2019:
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm struggling lately and it really helps, more than you'd guess, to read a comment from you today that relates to how i'm feeling. i know i can do this...and i cannot wait to feel even better :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/09/2019:
the smallest things from people like you are what is helps the most right now.

BearCountryGG on 12/09/2019:
I see that you had an espresso...now that would make me jittery...the only time I ordered on ( in a book store)...I had to add water to it. Funny story...my youngest son was on the road working and they ( he and his coworker) stopped at a gas station and they went in for coffee.....my son...who is ALWAYS looking for a good deal...decided he would fill his LARGE cup up with espresso instead of coffee......and apparently he was bouncing off the ceiling of the truck all day....he never did that again.....

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/09/2019:
yes, espresso was given to me and i should prob have thrown it out today :)...i will write more later, but i agree about the espresso.

happy-1 on 12/09/2019:
Caffeine, substances (cold and other meds, alcohol, pot), and refined sugar will trigger them. Travel anxiety tips will help. Driving is tough because you have to also operate a car. Sounds like what was happening to me when my neck was screwed up. These types of tips helped. https://www.everydayhealth.com/columns/my-health-story/coping-travel-anxiety/

horn_of_plenty on 12/09/2019:
Thank you !!!! I will read it now ....... thanks so much and yes it’s some travel anxiety for sure

Donkey on 12/09/2019:
I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling. Your journey out of this will not be linear. Like Bear said, life is ups and downs, but I do have faith that you will develop the coping skills that you need to keep the anxiety - when it does arise - to manageable levels. It may seem or feel unmanageable now, but this comes with time and practice.

How scary to have an attack while driving! You did the right thing by pulling over to "reset" yourself. In fact, you may find that you have days where you are pausing to "reset" yourself more often, and then you will have better days where it's not necessary. I would encourage you to trust the process and trust in yourself & your abilities.

I've read that when you're in the middle of an anxiety episode, that it's helpful to focus on a series of sensory things to "reset" yourself. So it would be something like, Find 4 things of a certain color, identify 3 things of a certain shape, identify 2 different sounds, 1 scent....

I'm thinking about looking into meditation techniques to help me during work. This might help you too. It's about stepping back, focusing on breathing, centering yourself -- kind of like what we do when we get dizzy. We stop, slow down, refocus, and then move on.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/10/2019:
Thank you for the suggestions...i may memorize here what you wrote about the sensory objects...THANK YOU...all extremely helpful to me!!!

innerpeace on 12/10/2019:
I hope things get better for you.

Later, I have therapy at 1:15pm and i think i may leave my apt earlier, if possible, to see about volunteering as a dog walker at a shelter located close to the therapy location (i may wait a couple weeks on this still...)

also, it's the best deal of the year for candles at bath and body works so even though i have been using some of my savings since i have been out of work, i'm taking advantage of the day and will stop there late this morning to buy 2-3 candles since i like to use them in my apt here and there...i make good use of them.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 12/07/2019:
Great start to the day HOP........What a great idea the dog walking is....dogs are so loving and rewarding to work with and a good opportunity for you to get some walking in.....I swear petting a dog ( a friendly one)lowers blood pressure. Have a great day!!

horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2019:
Tomorrow I go for dog walking training :)

BearCountryGG on 12/08/2019:
How neat is that?

Horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2019:
it's cool it's worked out rather well!

Horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2019:
and fast timing with the training today! (it's offered only 1x a month on the weekends, so i got lucky that it's today)

Donkey on 12/08/2019:
Ha ha, apparently, the Bath & Body Works candle sale is a huge thing - it was trending big time on Twitter, and having read your post first, I knew exactly why!

I love candles!!! What kind did you get?

Oh and great idea about the dog walking!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2019:
one is for my coworker, called Peace and a light scent mixed with vanilla along with a sweet smelling soap....then i got myself sweet smelling ones: island margarita, mango pineapple, a black cherry merlot scent and, lastly, a citrus (but no citrus smell really) mixed with another scent and called Midnight Blue Citrus (not crazy citrus-y at all!). lol yeah, a lot of them are drinks but smell so sweet, i like a sweet, fruity smell. certain smells i steer clear from, anything marshmallow or like anything cupcake/donut like smells - i feel the candles don't smell like those things at all! LOL.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2019:
yes, the candle thing is a HUGE deal because they were $9.50 and usually they are like $22-$24 i think. and it's the only day of the year that they are this cheap. usually, if they are on sale, they are around $12, not the $9.50. and i do use them, if my apt is particularly "smelly" or i feel the need for some reason. it usually is when i feel my apt needs a fresh scent...like if i have gas, LOL. not kidding though at all!

happy-1 on 12/08/2019:
Oh love love love an aroma scented space. With pets, it's a necessity.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/09/2019:
yes, it is! one of my candles (the one i wanted to give coworker as a gift!) accidentally broke on the way to work, so i will choose a different one to give her tomorrow or so.

Happy Friday! I replied to your comment on my diary yesterday, and also concerned on your entry yesterday. I seem to be a day behind, lol...

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/06/2019:
i have done LASER hair removal profresionally for underarms and bikini area - it worked very well and hair was totally gone for several years and now is just light regrowth that's easy to shave. i was pretty happy with the results, did go back for touchups here and there bc hair does come back (a little only) after several years. it works and i was happy. i used GROUPONS and deals, never had to pay full price.

i am hoping i can use this device on my arms and legs at home to lesson my hair, we'll see if it works.

BearCountryGG on 12/06/2019:
I'm into clementines today too! They seem really nice this winter.

BearCountryGG on 12/05/2019:

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
i have to try it more...only used it one week, need to use it like 3 months i think...and i skipped already when i should have done it this week...i'll tell you in 3 months. it was $200. bought it in summer, to use now since you cannot be in the sun in the areas you use it (arms/legs is what i'm doing)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
The company is HENA...we'll see if it works....would be SO NICE for summer.

i have to use it the first month 2x a week...then a month of 1x per week....then every other week...then as needed.

BearCountryGG on 12/05/2019:
Interesting.....I've looked at them online before...does it hurt?

only a little.

Donkey on 12/06/2019:
I've been wanting to ask you about this topic (hair removal) for about a week, since you know a lot of ladies, but I was so unsure of how to speak this subject. Then you post this! I think we might be psychically connected!

I'd be interested in your results. Also, do you have friends who have had professional electrolysis done?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/06/2019:
MY MOM once did electrolysis on her upper lip...that's hair by hair follicle i believe one at a time!

3- Lunges, but in place where i always bring my leg back to standing position. i do each side like 10-12 reps and 3 sets each (takes awhile, good exercise)

4- Split squat (still working on my range with this and it's much harder than the lunge above for me), another type of lunge but i end on my kneecap area (i do it on a mat and don't press hard on the knee) ...it's a mix of squat / lunge. i do this in place also:

5- Squats, sometimes only with body weight and sometimes with 30-35 pound bars that i own

Each of the exercises above i like to try for 3 sets, with 10-12 reps each.

6- Ricky was showing me work for my hamstring, when i hold onto something in front of me and do a back kick to work my hamstring/butt like a ballerina, i sometimes forget it, but trying to remember to add this into my routine :)  :  (but without the band below)

Things I want to do today / time pending:

- donate clothes and variety of stuffed animals

- buy door hooks from local hardware store so i can hang the coat i use all the time on the back of the door for easy access and not a mess in the closet :) Ricky's idea

- Leg Routine (above) and Abs routine since i didn't do it yesterday

- get on stationary bike if i have time

- organize fridge / cook bok choy ?

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

Organized for fitness! Love it. Also good on you for donating old things so your parents don't have to.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/01/2019:
yeah, these things were actually at MY APARTMENT, not their house...and my mom WANTS the items...so maybe i'll save them for her lol. she likes to donate, not sure why because taxes are taxes and how much of a rebate can it be!?, but, since she wants them, i'll give her my bags of clothes. i see my mom tomorrow.

And it was sweet of them to maintain your room like a time capsule!

horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
The room with the stuffed animals and donated clothes is actually from my own apt !!!!! But yes my parents have a large house and had a room for me to sleep in? But it wasn’t my room but a guest room since the guest room has a shower and is More convenient than my original room in their house which is used by my sister when she brings her baby to sleep over when her hubby is away and she stays with our parents !!!!!

Your leg exercises seem all-encompassing and well-rounded. As long as you don't experience any pain and are motivated to do them, sounds like a good plan!

Ballet one is just done once in awhile and not a habit but the others I try to do 2x a week thanks you!
