Snack:almonds and a small cookie

Lunch: approx 500 and a plum 50 snack 2 hours after lunch..everything healthy today

half a dark chocolate bar 100 cal.

1350 before dinner.

 Dinner: will maybe be a microwave thai meal. 600 and dessert. not more than 700.

total is 2050, EXCELLENT! and bed early...maybe skipping out on hamster bc i need some sleep.

2130 5day average.

took a lighter sleeping pill (only 25mg vs the other ones i take that are 50mg ...so it helped me get some sleep and i do feel better...just have period so this time around i do have cramps up my thigh..not cramps....a throbbing thigh and lower back slightly only...but the thigh pain is bad and i'm taking OTC pain meds to help me feel less of that pain...especially last night, so i slept well as i knew this time around from past experiences to take pain meds so i could sleep the night and NOT toss and turn :)


I am having some PMS pain in my thigh (even after quite a large dose of pain med) and very tired so bed early tonight so i can get to gym tomorrow and jogging Friday. All is good, can't wait for a little extra sleep and possibly skipping hamster play time tonight fully. maybe make up for it in the morning before work.



The Daily Rituals book is not the best or most inspiring book i've ever read, but it was cool to get a glimpse into so many lives of the greats!  Nice to read about them and how different they were and what made this artists tick :)

Reading a NEW book at lunch that i'm starting, it's called "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Manson"....I'm glad I finsihed the other book, DAILY RITUALS, which was about the daily routines of many famous artists, composers, writers, painters, musicians.

It wasn't very inspiring, but did demonstrate the depths and drive some had to go thru in order to become renown and produce such masterpieces (hard effot / work)...and for a few it came more naturally without as much a struggle. Many artists were alcoholics or drug addicts, but others were very healthy and lead more natural lives and routines. But as we all know, many artists are inherently a bit extreme.  Not all, but many.

Many worked on little sleep or took drugs for sleeping and stimulants for waking. some took daily naps. It all depended on several things. Some artists had to work day jobs to pay the bills, some relied on their family to provide food and housing so that they could write full time. Some lived in poverty bc nobody was helping them, until their first big break.

Many would write / practice their art even when uninspired, to keep the routine and stay in practice so that they could eventually produce a greak work...everyone was different. But one important thing to remember is that practice makes perfect...or at least practice makes GREAT.

And this is what i take from the book, called DAILY RITUALS.  It's that even when you aren't feeling you are producing your best work, you stil stay in the routine and you still practice. So that when that inspiration does come to you, you've been already in practice and your job becomes easier...THIS IS HOW I THINK OF MY RUNNING. I generally suck...but the more I practice, the easier it is getting....I have one choice: KEEP PRACTICING!

Another important note I learned from the book Daily Rituals is that many of the greats did not ONLY do work.  They also enjoyed exercise, usually walking very long walks like at least one hour per day and some as much as 2-3 hours of walking per day!!!!...some enjoyed swimming!...but in general artists were used to being active, not all of them - but many - or doing another hobby which would inpsire their work...generally the more active ones were the ones that did not have a second job or line of work to support their writing...the ones that had hobbies were usually the ones that didn't need a second line of work to support themselves (like composers could be composers and writers were able to just be writiers...these guys were able to have hobbies and go on those long walks...or see shows, etc....) All things to think about!

Either way, many of the greats did NOT become great without LOTS OF PRACTICE and/or many failures first....PRACTICE....PRACTICE.....PRACTICE...and i'll run better, too!  NEVER GIVE UP...the only way you cannot achieve something is by making the ACTIVE DECISION TO GIVE UP!

2am couldn't sleep so had a wrap 100 stomach is a little acidity due to a lot of salsa eating last night...later at 6:30am, kombucha  170 cal.

Breakfast at work: wrap 70, pb 200, sf jelly, banana 120, coffee 50, candies 20: 460

1500 after lunch. sorta high. not good sleep, feeling extremely lethargic and foggy today.

Picking up a croissant for dinner...i don't even want the egg...from dunkin donuts. that's all i want for dinner, for now.  or maybe some other small bar....just that and tea is what i want...maybe i can find a tea at work. Edit - got a nice herbal tea (hibiscus) from DD and added my stevia to it - wonderful with the croissant. The cheese was nasty, though.

2100 Monday total, excellent !

2200 3-day Average, very decent based on my activity and going out / drinking a little bit and just enjoying life. 


Watched scenes from the Broadway show acted at the library and it was amazing bc it was the real Broadway cast - maybe talk more about it tomorrow !!!!


but happy to see a free show at the library ...scenes acted out by broadway stars.  it's not my neighborhood library but it is a library close to work....and this library is more like a community Y....it has a cafe...so i brought extra food that i'll eat there....though i'm not too hungry and may just leave my food here for lunch tomorrow and eat a snack instead of more veggies tonight...i am luckily not too hungry anymore...starting to crave only carbs....like i tend to close to when i get my TOM...period....i think it'll come early again...i am feeling slightly bloated.

Slept in 12 hours or so. Very nice. Slow morning and did laundry on late side ending around 1pm.

Seeing a free concert at the beach tonight on the boardwalk! And stopping by another fishing peir along the way.  Going with the usual guy i chill with.


we played shuffleboard at the beach and saw other areas as well for fishing. was so nice going with my friend Ricky. Just wish he was younger and some other things. I can't date him, nor do i want to.  It would have been better if i was MORE attracted to him for physical stuff. most of the time we aren't physical. I have never kissed him (do not want to). Life is still very up in the air with dating and stuff ... i just know that right now i hang out with him a lot, but life is about to change.

Lunch I am soooo excited for...more Indian really fresh and tasty leftovers from yesterday's lunch order where i ordered extra on purpose...

Ate too much at lunch but boyyyy was it goooood! 700 for lunch at least.

before jog: crackers and sugar free drink and a small plum

dinner was prob around the 600.

2250 total, good.

7 day average: 2074 = PERFECT, happy with it!!! VERY happy that the total is under 2100 per day!


Grrrr forgot my book today to read....so hopefully i'll read it after my jog tonight. Plan to jog is the usual 2mi plus an additional up to half mile.  No more than 2.5 mi of walking/jogging. I like these limits. Helps keep me ON TRACK WITHOUT INJURIES.

I'll pick up some food at lunch instead of reading.  There's a supermarket 2 blocks away.  At least i can do SOMETHING productive.

I hope you have good weather for your job! Weather here has not been good the last two days, it is currently pouring down...again! Hopefully I will be able to get back on it tomorrow.

Last night I had a weird burning pain in the lower left of my stomach down to my groin. It was weird...so today I didn't get up.

I got the pouring rain but it didn't affect me and my sandals got wet but dried very quickly once i got to work!

let yourself rest. believe it or not, rest comes before exercising :)

Healthy lunch:approx 650 tops.(not that healthy) salami microwaved with cooked cabbage and salt and vinegar chips! haha. and an apricot.

snack: smallish orange, approx 50.

dinner not too much more than 650 i'd say! it was a soy teriyaki chicken with tons of veg some in sauce

2050 calories.

no exercise. concert was cancelled in evening bc of rain so just relaxed at home and went to bed early.

5day average: 2115, decent.

It's a REALLY COOL brand because TWO TABLESPOONS is only 110 calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!....i get it in a local store, here's the name of the spread: "G Butter" or "GB" and you can also heat a little up in microwave and it turns into a BROWNIE! never tried, but the package says how and the guy at the store also recommended it try it!

Sunday was a trip to the city for a Broadway Matinee and then some strolling around Central Park. Lots of nice walking on Sunday.

Monday was a trip to a Queens beach and then a FREE amateur comedy show in the evening at a random bar in Brooklyn that we found out about thru local events listed on Facebook and the show ended up being very funny. Not too much walking on Monday. 

Tuesday was a trip out East to the beach, but we first stopped at 3 different points for sightseeing along the way including two fishing docks and a park office / park police station stop! It was really cool. Lots of walking on Tuesday.

The majority of the weekend / activities i do from now until End of October will be mostly prepaid or free.  TRYING to not spend much more besides paying for accomodations for late September in Columbia and then pricey Vegas in October. I just don't need to GO OVER my bank account and require too much credit card stuff to pay back...Also some eye appointment/podiatrist appt i'm going to be paying for extra glasses / sunglasses i'll need for academy as well as foot inserts for shoes maybe 2 pairs....i'll pay on my credit card to be reimbursed thru my health reimbursement fund meaning i'll be paid pack (thru my own funds) but it's still good i'm getting that money back to my banking accounts!

So the spending lately is: one more ticket to a broadway show with friend from france in late august, accomodations in Columbia & stuff while vacationing there, Vegas accomodations, activities & STUFF omg and Vegas shows, etc! Gonna be a huge expense!....and that's it.  Along with optical / podiatrist to be refunding thru a special account i have for medical reimbursement thank gosh.

trying for everything else to be free. no more money for anything else! LOL.

getting to gym...after gym not sure if i'll have a big snack or smaller one and not a huge protein cookie...also need to go to bank real quick for some cash since i have zero dollars to my name in my wallet since SUNDAY evening!

Tuesday total was 1900 :-) VERY PERFECT.

Sunday, Monday & Tuesday were memorable & fun days. I have my friend Ricky to thank, BIG TIME, for taking me ALL AROUND because he def does have a much better sense of direction and just knows the areas very well and is able to drive all around the 5 boroughs with little need for directions and also he knows all the beach on LI that i do not know that are farther out east....He showed me so many new things this weekend. And the Broadway show on Sunday with a trip after to Central Park was also amazing. What a wonderful weekend...and the comendy show on Monday night turned out to be good, not a fluke!, amazing. It was a random area in Brooklyn and we weren't sure if it would be good but it was!

OMG YES.....it was really a nice few days including Sunday....so nice like a serious vacation at home...with plans :) THANK YOU J-Donk! I have a good friend near me who LOVES going out...i love that about him!

Beach day this afternoon...and a few other things beforehand.

Possible broadway show tonight if i win a lottery that is available to partake in!

Going to a very close beach in Queens today that i've not been to during the summer :)

Also helping my friend drop off his car to put work into it first...then we are heading to beach in my car which is on the way :)

Lunch escarole 200 in a nice olive oil sauté,

roll 200 with 1 egg 100 and bacon 150-200,

orange slices 100 800 tops


Dinner:there were some chips 250, and the rest of the sauteed tofu 150 really not very much, and some leftover marinated portabella mushrooms as well just gonna say 50-100. total here is 450-500

1900, tops

Going out to a bar with a few local comedians and will have a drink or two :)

2200 TOTAL.

And then heading back later to my friends apt, before coming back to mine to sleep ;)

Taking advantage of 2 extra days off :-)
