Reading a little / shower / reading at dr if i have to wait...12pm dermatologist for hyperhydrosis (excesive underarm sweating so i get botox - it's been a genetic issue i've had since my teens)....

DONE! After derm, stopping at supermarket for mostly fruit (apricots, strawberries), avocados, & maybe a few more yogurts, almond milk, seltzers too.

Also the cleaners to dryclean a down comforter.

i want to get home and stay home since yesterday was a long hike getting home from NYC during the midtown blackout.

DONE! Possibly picking up some veggies for a late lunch today that are already cooked and that i can enjoy at home - after the dermatologist / errands

TOMORROW ?? Hamster cage needs a cleaning

HALFWAY DONE - this wasn't skipped and i will finish! :) ...Strength workout  today- I may skip one or two leg items as my ankle once again is stressed but NOT injured. just sore. it will always be this way, my bad ankle, from when i broke it many years ago.

TOMORROW I'd like to cook some of my veggies that were delivered this past Thursday evening :) from Misfits Market. GREAT Selection this time around with plenty of zucchini and greens. I may Sautee rather than go the slow cooker route, gotta review recipes.

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

Yes, I remember the news mentioning the black out...did it last long and did they find out what the cause of it was?

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2019:
it lasted from around 6:45pm until midnight when all areas were basically restored and it was caused by a transformer fire! I'm thinking it was due to it being very hot in summer and everyone using electricity, but not sure if my guess is the truth! but, it was def a transformer fire. it did cause a headache to many people in midtown.

Donkey on 07/14/2019:
I agree with you about your ankle, unfortunately. The good news is that you're taking steps to strengthen the supporting muscles.

OK, I have to ask this: the doctor's office is open on a SUNDAY????? (I've been meaning to ask you this for the longest time.)

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2019:
yeah! a couple sundays i think per month they are open. And, i think they are CLOSED on SATURDAYS! who knows why!

but, being that I live in a very, very Metropolitan city, Queens, stores and drs offices tend to have more of a variety of hours. especially this derm office - it also has late night hours during the week. good place. :)

not everyone can get to a dr office near their home during the week, so most places do have some kinda weekend hours if they are a busy clinic like a dermatology group. there's 3 main dermatologists there, so i guess you can ccall it a pretty big sized office for dermatology. one dr works on weekends along with another one that comes in only for the weekends.

Weight: 116.2

4am a little restless, with an appetite. two 2% greek Chobani yogurts with fruit on the bottom 280.

9:45am oatmeal with almond milk and stevia, cinnamon, just a bit of saffron so i could take it with some oatmeal in one bite (i use oatmeal to put the dried saffron in and take it in one bite). 2% Chobani fruit on bottom Strawberry Rhubarb yogurt. 300. iced coffee 30

almost noon while reading / laundry: muffin that i made last sunday from fridge, seltzer with hemp and stevia, strawberries 250, more strawberries later 50

2pm lunch - wrap with mustard 150, bigger piece of sausage but still smaller if that makes sense! 200. total 350. some chips i think...

1000 calories more throughout night

total is decent at 2400 or so.

12:45pm NOW :) I've decided to start up the ladder exercises again today as i've been purposely doing less on weekends to give myself a rest and time to do what is most important lately including exercise and more cooking. just not rushing thru weekends like previous years :)

DONE :)Laundry ? today - if i can do it today it'd be a bonus...

Tonight I'm going into the city meeting my friend at 5:30pm which means i need to leave my apt around 4pm since there can be train delays on weekends. we are seeing an Off Broadway show called Drunk Shakespeare. it's an hour and half, no intermission, over by 7:30pm which is good because afterwards we are going out to an Indian restaurant nearby that also has Hookah (not a drug).  Looking forward to seeing this friend - we haven't met up since January when she flew to Florida to meet me for the last weekend i was down there at my other friend's house!

Also today or tomorrow, I'd like to cook some of my veggies that were delivered this past Thursday evening :) from Misfits Market. GREAT Selection this time around with plenty of zucchini and greens. I may Sautee rather than go the slow cooker route, gotta review recipes.

at noon tomorrow i have a follow up with dermatologist as well as a treatment for genetic hyperhydrosis which is underarm sweating that gets to be a huge problem for me and i get botox so that i can wear whatever i want and not walk around with huge pit stains all summer ! :)

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/13/2019:
Sounds like a delightful day!

Hope the ladder exercises go well today.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2019:
ladder exercises did go well - and i now have started using an ankle brace when doing the ladder or jogging. Very happy to keep at it, not give up.

I do in fact figure my ankle WILL ALWAYS be somewhat of a pain that comes and goes after the fracture i had i do not think it will ever work great...but i do know that also continuing to add leg muscle and doing exercises that strengthen my leg muscles will help me to compensate for a weak ankle!

Maria7 on 07/13/2019:
Hope you have been having a nice day today.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2019:
Overall, i can't complain at all! It was a challenge getting home from the city, but feels really good to do it last night - i walked over a bridge to get back into Queens, then took more transportation home. it was overall 3 1/2 mile walk out of NYC and into Queens. and i was with my friend :)

BearCountryGG on 07/13/2019:
Laundry for me too.....it never seems to be done...just like the dishwasher....just started it a few minuts ago and a errant fork shows up.....like laundry...the dishes never seem to be 100% done either.

Horn_of_plenty on 07/14/2019:
If i could only get myself to put my laundry away after i wash it, and not leave it in my cart! it's the cart i bring in my car whenever i do a major shopping trip so i can bring all the bags up to my apt in one haul....but today my clothes were nicely displayed all over it, so, once again i had to carry the bags in with a struggle....LOL...

My laundry cart....always with clothes on it, it seems...just like the dishes, dish washer, and laundry in general! hahahahaha

i love them in the morning at work bc they hit the spot and go well with a coffee afterwards.

on weekends, i got with something much more filling like oatmeal and yogurt.

volume i like at home, but at work in the morning it would just send me stomach issues lol.

Sounds like a great day! Enjoy your upcoming weekend :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/12/2019:
yes, that's what it's been about! nice workddays and upcoming weekend :)

I admit i have been VERY LUCKY this year. since January, i can see it's been a year of the least work politics, least problems, and just the best environment i've ever had for this many months at a time without a change. i do admit though, i can tell it's the calm before the storm because this project only has 1yr to 1.5yrs...so i am being positive and keeping on with my goals :)

5day 2120, good

exercise: rest day is planned for tonight. just walking at lunch and getting off bus a few blocks earlier, nothing big but staying active during daily activity.  i'd like to go to bed early around 8pm-9pm

In the next couple weeks alone, i'm seeing two shows - one off broadway and one is a comedian singer with orchestra background, smoking hookah lol, seeing multiple friends, going to the beach, and doing another 5k!!!! what an awesome JULY!

and very early next month, I'm attending a FREE organ concert at The Riverside Church which is northern Manhattan near Harlem but a really, really well known church with tons of contributions to music and the arts -  with also a preconcert before the organ concert that on another instrument. I'm SUPER HAPPY.

This has been a summer, finally, where i've really embraced music again and seeing multiple shows of it and the performing arts. I need this in my life. It's my whole upbringing and I value it so much. It's definitely made me very happy to write about it.

Sleep was still very off last night bc my workout started and ended late (which is OK since i was able to catch up with neighbor and family before it).  I am thinking i'll fully make up for my missed sleep tonight :)

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

legcramps on 07/10/2019:
I can tell that you must have missed having music in your life very much. I'm happy to 'hear' that you will be enjoying it once again! You sound so happy about it, and I love that. Exactly what life is about - enjoying the things you're passionate about!! You go girl!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/10/2019:
And, I am HAPPIER to attend the concert as an audience member and not be the performer. I PREFER to be the audience and actively listen as opposed to be the performer which def felt ONLY like work to me since you have to be focused on getting everything played correctly without errors. Performing was a stressor to me and NOT enjoyable. I love listening though :)

I love your comments. I'm so glad i can be passionate in listening to all these musicians and take in their work and efforts and passions thru my own :) the BEST!

4 day:2116 - awesome!

I was 15min late because of bus/train delays (both). so, gotta stay extra tonight that much....

I had some fun catching up with neighbors and family on phone also before exercise so it started around 8pm (instead of like 7pm) and ending around 10pm - i've been sleeping decently since weekend, so, i just have to keep on and sleep early tomorrow to make up for tonight :) bed probably around 10:45pm.

Another benefit of being a DDer - Journaling Benefits:

Kombucha 50 - drank it rushed so it didn't work out that well for me, but it tasted GREAT! (i have stopped drinking kombucha on the weekend, favoring iced coffee instead as a change of pace / little bit of money savings / resting from kombucha everyday)

9am coffee 50, wrap 130, 1/2 cured pork sausage 150, mustard. 350

11am snack almonds?   1.5 of my muffins which are decent 300

1pm lunch: leftovers from home: tofu 100, indian sauteed okra150, salad lettuce 10, chips 150...400 nice and light :)

close to 3pm-3:30pm gummy candy 50, followed by a hot Passion Tea from Tazo brand i brought to work :) almonds 100

4:30 snack:   apple 100

exercise: none except walking at lunch (nice amount here, well over a mile), possibly getting off bus earlier (that IS the plan to walk 1 mile after work too! ) too to get in a little more walking, but still taking it reasonably easy this week - starting to feel a heck of a LOT better with my legs...plus enjoying the massager at home that i bought for feet and legs. Next, would be to get back into Epsom salt foot soaks - that goal can be for August.

dinner: other half the sausage 150 on wrap with mustard 150. 300 and chips 300. taste of guac 50.  650

3day: 2155.

Last night i had a lot of trouble sleeping for most of the night. I think it's because after having 4 days off I was anxious going back to work. either way, i'm glad i did sleep well for 4 days :) Plus, i'm ready for this week ahead !

I did accidentally forget all vitamins and UTI pill to have with lunch which is unfortunate as it needs to be taken twice a day and would have been better to get the antibiotic in my system now after breakfast or lunch and then take the second pill with dinner.  oops. forgot the second lunch bag. ah well. i'll have it when i get home tonight and maybe just end the cycle of these pills a day later than i should have. that's all. no biggie.

This month i'm thankful for the ability to have been able and being able later in the month to take part in a vast and variety of experiences. from concerts to shows and not only 1 of each, to seeing friends and even probably going to the beach, my life will not be dull this month.  I may be taking a relief from not training as hard, but at least i am using the time to be productive in other ways and that's what matters to me right now - since no matter what i did need a break from the cardio - at least i can continue to live life and not be so injured that even life becomes a pain (happened in the past).

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 07/08/2019:
I had a bad night last night too.........fitfull sleep.......out of bed and then back to bed......still feeling some of the residuals from that. It didn't help that as we were going to bed...it sounded like someone yelled "WOW"...in OUR BACK YARD!!!!!! We both heard it and thought it was each other......very weird! Must have been a neighbor....but...still strange!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/08/2019:
i'd freak too if i lived in a house and all of a sudden someome yelled in the backyard!!! i hope you are feeling better today.

i def feel lethargic after lunch, but that's typical for me actually and happens both on weekends and during the week. however, i do feel i'll sleep wayyyy better tonight :)

time to take this heavy blanket off my bed that's been making me sweat!

BearCountryGG on 07/08/2019:
I switched to lighter bedding too.....I've been lethargic all day too......but i'm making myself stay awake so I sleep better tonight.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/08/2019:
i think the bedding switch will help and of course staying up all day should help you! haha

7pm meal 1/2 Florida avocado 170 made into guacamole, over 3 small rice crackers 50 and some tofu 100. Total 320.

total today 2250, good.

2day 2230 - higher but pretty healthy couple days

i have a lot of events this month! It's a tight, FUN schedule.

i shouldn't have any OT...and everything at work should be running smoothly. I am challenged to enjoy this month and weather and fun times ahead!  (with keeping up at least my weights routine and slowly getting back into more cardio).

I'll just sleep in when i can & I should be fine. Seems that i need a break from cardio training anyway...so, it'll be nice to see some entertaining shows.  Most are at a discount, some previously were free. I was def interested in everything i have signed up for, have been wanting to go to either the show or venue for awhile.  It does add up, but i know i'll enjoy it all!.....

Today: 11:30am we are Going to Resorts Casino here in Queens around 45 min away. Watching the Soccer Championship there. R reallly wanted to go - and my company did all the lighting designs there a few years ago when it opened, so i'm interested to see it in person.

Next Friday all day - maybe taking a sick day for the beach with Christine

Next Saturday evening going to see the Off Broadway show Drunk Shakespeare - a parody on a Shakespeare play & supposely the actors drink shots before they perform!? weird but it was a good deal, $29 for the tickets instead of the usual Groupon free of $49-$59. with my friend Jen

2 weeks from now Saturday evening: seeing a performance at a local Queens Stadium in Forest Hills that includes a Comedian / Singer with backup music done by the Queens Symphony Orchestra...the guy is funny and there's an orchestra, plus i've never been to the venue! everything is good here! with Ricky

2 weeks from now Sunday morning: doing a 5k in Queens at a park i've never been to! and also it's very close, like 15-20 min away. with Ricky..

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 07/07/2019:
Your July sounds very fun! The 5K should be a sufficient cardio goal for July, don't you think?

horn_of_plenty on 07/07/2019:
Yes - walking it. Toning it down right now with fitness especially cardio since I seem to me really wanting it like that. No more ladder again this week - I want to feel even better and can walk a little on the way home from work and that will be sufficient as I am finding I need to rest right now.

BearCountryGG on 07/07/2019:
I love Popeyes...only had it once in the city (Flint, MI)......seems they are only in the larer towns in MI.....Lucky you to have picked up on the UTI so quickly...should be easy to stop.

horn_of_plenty on 07/07/2019:
I am so lucky with the UTI that I was home and already during errands and could fit it in seriously with no hassle... I hope there’s no burning at all soon! It’s worst during a shower.

The Popeyes was fresh today and the chicken fingers I really enjoyed !!! Not too oily and big and flakey ! The fries were nice too as they have some light Cajun seasoning on them.

3:30pm swung by urgent care bc it feels like I have a UTI --- good i went to dr - i was prescribed medicine for it - she said it was just starting up.

7:30am breakfast: oatmeal 150 with almond milk 20, stevia and cinnamon, banana 120. 300. sleepy, may go back to bed. ..yup, slept around an hour more only bc i set my alarm so i can do some morning exercise (at 11am lol if you even want to call that morning!?)

10:30am snacks before UPPER BODY, ABS strength workout at home!: iced coffee 50, strawberries (they are on sale, i buy tons!) 100. 150., pb on small cracker 100

12:30 during workout - Lunch:  will be light egg wrap at home with leftover sauteed indian okra 300 because R&I are going out for a big, high volume, filling dinner! yum!

2pm snack at end of workout: chocolate protein nut butter 100 yum!

4:30 3 candies

2200. Good!!

GOOD DINNER: Hibachi where they cook the Asian food in front of you - TONS OF VEGGIE options at this particular chain of restaurants. never been to the Long Island location, i usually go to Queens, but i'm sure it will be the same! :) i hope, because queens is wonderful. ....maybe order a very healthy protein, fatty fish or something. glad i have my $25 off coupon (i've had it for around 1-2 years LOL)

after dinner we plan to watch a movie at one of our apts! and bed not too late and not too early!

Later, I am  going out around 1pm-2pm with Ricky to do some shopping for his things and i don't mind going at all !!! (thrift stores and sneaker outlet store - for him) on Long Island (everything is around 45 min away)- along with a dinner at a hibachi place also on LI and the dinner will be HALF PRICE literally. I have $25 coupon!!  So, basically it's going to cover my half, i'll pay tip, and Ricky can pay for his dinner :) I treated him yesterday - i do not scrub cash off him, i know he works hard and isn't rich, and i do not like to be this way to others, anyone!

tomorrow Hookah is cancelled until next Saturday :) that's ok! my friend said she wasn't keeping track and messed up her schedule for the weekend which is OK with me - i'm def seeing her next Saturday for a $29 off broadway show called Drunk Shakespeare (the actors drink before the performance, lol) in Manhattan's theater district and hookah if we make good plans we can do both early enough in the day...

tomorrow, stopping by a local Farmer's market, buying more berries and maybe a few other items there, NO exercise again (no ladder !), baking a "honey" cake for coworkers - praying it comes out right (it will only have maple syrup flavoring haha)...and possibly really more laundry??? if it can help me with next weekend's busier schedule...maybe laundry.

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 07/06/2019:
Well it's a good day to go back to bed since you have a few off. If you have the opportunity to get some extra sleep in you will probably be glad you did....there is nothing quite like feeling sleepy all day....actually your breakfast will probably help you sleep and that's a good thing!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 07/06/2019:
it's been wonderful sleeping more than i do during a work week on these days off. I could have even slept more after i went back to sleep today, but had an alarm set so i can exercise before meeting Ricky haha or i'd have slept till around noon for sure!

4:30am apple in middle of night! 100

9:00am homemade blueberry frozen yogurt most of the 2 servings. the consistency was more like sorbet and i could have let it defrost a little more, but, it was very good nonetheless! 500 for 2 servings.

10:30am decided i wanted something more substantial so i hate my friend's meatballs that she made and gave me yesterday. they were very good with lots of ingredients beyond just meat. i'm guessing 120 cal each. 250. could even be a bit more, but, just saying!

12:15 lunch: tofu x2 servings 150, leftovers from my freezer of indian okra YUM! 250?, chips 150. 600.

3:15pm snack strawerries 100

4:45 more strawberries 50, iced coffee at home 50

Dinner approx 400, snack around 200

total approx 2250-2300 :-)

7day approx 2100 = very good !!

DONE Laundry is done. Feeling like a nap. maybe (after lunch that i just ate!) yup...fell asleep for like 2 hours!

DONE I'm thinking to go through my coat closet and donate quite a few coats that i do not wear anymore for various reasons. I've got so many things in my closet and it just complicates things when i can't find what i need :)

DONE I'm thinking to drive and buy a lot of kombucha today so i don't have to think about it again until sometime inAugust.

I'm excited for....Tonight i'm going to a free patriotic songs band concert with R and we are getting food out there. i'll obviously reach for something light since i'm def with a big appetite since i woke up :)

Later this weekend:

Still want to bake a honey cake (i think sunday). also meeting friend for Hookah. lol.

Exercise is only tomorrow, weights. with possibly going out to eat for dinner (have coupon) and a movie back at home after. maybe go to a second hand clothing store with Ricky who likes a particular one that is near  the restaurant we may eat at!

really low key, easy weekend over here.....this is seriously all i want to do and i'm plenty happy with a slower pace! PLENTY HAPPY :)

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!
