1950. Good day!

1. I have a guy coming (only from 10am-noon 8am-10am) to install Verizon service in my apt since i'm switching internet services...it went well as some was already done...lasted from around 9am-11am. successful. better than usual bc the bldg was fit out for it earlier in the Spring.  he even unhooked all my devices from the old service and he used some wire tires to get all my wires neat and organized for this service (i asked him to do this and he helped me out and made it look far better than it would if i didn't ask!). tipped him $10, gave him a water and clementine :)  DONE!

1a. Doing a weights workout between 11am-12:30pm, may have to skip phone call with French friend, which isn't so nice to cancel last minute but things are in slight disarray here...DOING NOW - to be DONE!

2: leave around 12:30 to meet guy at 1pm to pick up shelving unit for bedroom $15. brand new, but not the most "decorative." it's more basic - will show photos of all shelves later...close by in Queens maybe a 15min ride.DONE!

3.....RETURN THE OLD SERVICE APPLIANCES TO SPECTRUM which will be my old internet / TV service provider. Trying to do this in the Afternoon..DONE!

4. Need to pick up a shirt at the cleaners (try to quickly fit it in sometime on the way home from spectrum) DONE!

5. Psych call at 6:30 tonight (should be short like 20 min or less)

6. 7:30-8:30 pick up kitchen shelf $10 stand in Astoria, Queens - maybe a 20-25 min ride.

?? (def some reading and doing HW for paralegal which i'll know the work for since it will be online starting Monday) ?? - yes, doing it (reading)

i'm good on shelves now, no more purchases.  i will have now purchased four different shelving units for a total price of $55. decent i guess.  i'd say overall a good bang for my buck :) One was $10, another $20 and the two today are $15 and $10 each.

no cardio today. took a break, maybe a short stationary bike ride later.?

All day type of plan - beach with mom/sister/baby. Family likes when i join them so before I potentially have a job (which would be a great thing), I am trying to be agreeable and join them there. (They also pay a $25 fee for me to come).

Tuesday beach may be moved to Wednesday again if weather changes things - i won't mind at all..i might be able to volunteer at farm tomorrow if things change, lol.

Progress as of today: -5 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

Busy day for you!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/24/2020:
yes, it leaves my heart racing a little lol...it will make it hard for me to do work for the class, but, i feel like it's a good idea to get the apt in order now.

usually not busy like this!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/24/2020:
we'll see if i can get it all accomplished!

Donkey on 08/25/2020:
What an amazing day! You got so much done!

I'm glad the cable guy didn't take too long.

How are you liking the new paralegal unit so far?

Horn_of_plenty on 08/25/2020:
i haven't delved into the paralegal unit very much so i cannot say. i've been doing the reading of a chapter in the bigger textbook...it's a chapter about how to Cite. seems a bit confusing so far!!! :)

4:30-6:30pm snacks after volunteering and sweating for 3 hours, delved into some carbs, because that's what a person wants after a workout in the heat, but juice ones: 2 nice plums 100, blueberries 120, coffee 30, and granola bar 100: 350

7pm greek yogurt 150 with added stevia and some cocoa powder, big cookie 150...300. pretty full now.

Volunteer at the Farm for the afternoon 1-4pm.  It will the biggest event of my day and quite physical.

Prob will just relax the rest of the afternoon / evening. and maybe read the paralegal textbook again. - it would be a good idea to finish the reading that's due this week...so  i'm ready for the assignments tomorrow, the start of the next half of this course.

Donkey on 08/23/2020:
Have fun on the farm today! I hope you're having good weather for this.

Just a gentle suggestion, you may be overly optimistic about having the cable guy done in 2 hours. Oh I'm sure that's what you've been told by customer service, but I've seen service calls like this consume time like I consume potato chips. 6 hours later....

I guess I didn't realize that the project management class would be leading up to a national exam. I hear your concern about time management with the paralegal class starting up again. Plus, the possibility of working again... can you clone yourself? (Lol)

Horn_of_plenty on 08/23/2020:
some of the cable / fios installation was done outside the door of my apt so there's a chance it may not be too long, not sure. thanks for the tip! I will NOT be happy if it takes 6 hours LOL!

the farm was great, hot weather. so lots of sweating and good exercise.

Actually, I didn't think i'd be taking the exam either (national one) for the PM course. i was really not interested in it - at first. but now that she offered these 3 review sessions (didn't know about the review sessions till when the class was ending)..so now i realize it could be good if i pass the test lol...bc it's directly related to the type of work i do now and it's very VALUABLE to have "PMP" project management professional initials after your name. it's something that's known well to project managers.

lately, i've been enjoying my free time a bit much...so now i guess i will settle down to get some more work done (haven't had to do much work lately).

yeah, it's a lot of uncertainty right now. we'll see what happens Monday / Tuesday and if i hear from the job i went to interview for.

bearcountrygg on 08/23/2020:
Those bookcases do sound like a lucky find!!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/23/2020:
I'm very happy to browse the facebook marketplace for some extra storage pieces.

i plan to possibly live in this apt forever, so i find it's nice to buy things that help the place stay organized.

lol, even if i met someone, i would consider us living here LOL bc it's a nice priced apt... who knows. it's a nice size for one person, that's for sure. and if the other person used some extra furniture storage as well, it would be OK.

i am still looking for some other pieces for the kitchen and bedroom.

legcramps on 08/24/2020:
Sounds like it was an enjoyable weekend and I hope the cable guy is in and out within your two hour time frame!

I haven't been looking much at garage or marketplace listings lately, just because of covid-19, but there are usually some pretty decent finds on there if you look long enough! Nice to see that you are taking some time making the apartment more cozy for yourself! How is the futon working out?

Horn_of_plenty on 08/24/2020:
cable guy was very nice and experienced so it went REALLY well. thankful!

yes, i was thinking how i love this apt and there's a HUGE chance in me living here for life (especially if i do not marry anyone). so i'm wanting to declutter by gaining more vertical organized space. it seems to be working out!

the futon has been good and is comfortable. the mattress does move when i sit on it and sinks down so i have to raise it up frequently - but, it was free so there's that benefit of no wasted cash on it. and i will not be replacing it as it's better than what i had before the futon.

so, futon does the job but a couch that didn't have a movable mattress would have been better. i will not be replacing it as it works decently and much better than previous Bob's couch.

Jacky82020 on 08/24/2020:
I hate Spectrum! Cancelled cable when they insisted I rent their DVRs. Have my own DVRs. Forced to use them for high speed internet now, $69.00 a month. Use Sling and Hulu. Purchased a shared Hulu account for $5 on eBay, good for several months. Works like a charm, Bingeing on ER now.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/24/2020:
i LOVE ER. an old show but i loved it then and if i could watch it now, NOW! haha

Now i pay more than i paid for spectrum, but they were bad for the business i am in (competitor) so i'm glad not to be paying the competitor any more of my money. now have verizon - expensive but good service.

in the future, i may try to just pay for internet and not tv...and do what you do...near future like a year or so from now.

Jacky82020 on 08/24/2020:
You could get a $5 Hutu from eBay like me & see all 15 seasons of ER. Requires a Roku or Amazon Firestick. For some reason the Roku works better for me, have them all over the house. Use Amazon Prime too, Also have antennas hooked up for local channels. Tiny flat indoor things,

Horn_of_plenty on 08/24/2020:
maybe in the future!!

Jacky82020 on 08/24/2020:
Sounds like a plan!

Hi All!

Happy Saturday!

I seriously almost slept thru my review course today. It started at 9, I logged in at 9:10!...seriously. I set my clock but kept staying in bed - luckily i didn't miss anything.  Review course was good so far, i have two more saturdays to go!  Teacher is excellent. It's GREAT having this course taken in my own home because i can get up for food, i even did my leg strengthening exercises during part of it and there was a short 20 min break during most of the time i did my leg exercises. It's a long course, 9-2:30 and during most of it, i was attending on the couch.  GREAT course because the teacher is VERY THOROUGH and patient. she even shows you how to sign up to take the Project Management national test...many teachers would leave it up to the students, but, it's even a pretty intense sign-up with extra educational requirements...It's good to have a teacher like her that assists you ever step of the way. It's the same instructor i had for my project management class that just ended  (woohoo!).

breakfast / snacks oats 150, raisins 150, almond milk 50, ice coffee 50, kombucha 100. 500...

12:30 popcorn, bite of leftover salmon 250.

3:45pm early dinner - rest of the salmon 250?, naan 150...400...

5:30pm rest of some thai veggies mostly and in sauce 200, spiked drink 100

7pm blueberries 150, chocolate greek yogurt 200

Planning seems to be necessary right now as I do feel like I am pretty busy even though i'm not working. The benefit right now is I am still able to sleep a lot, which has been nice but developed into a long sleep habit.

Today was just my course.

i was supposed to do weights today of which i don't see myself doing now after my course ended for today, but, maybe tonight or otherwise Sunday Morning.

I may go out for a bike ride or short walk / bike ride followed by some paralegal reading this afternoon.

In my project management review course, we are being told to try to study daily for the test and come up with a plan...grrr....i wish i could throw out the rest of the paralegal (haha, i'm not!) so i didn't have this conflict. but then again, I am not working, yet, so i can have a plan to start with and probably to change later...

I can take the test i'm reviewing for ANYTIME...so perhaps i will NOT start studying until after the paralegal ends in Sept/October ...that can be my semi plan..I do not like doing the two different studies at once.

Volunteer at the Farm for the afternoon 1-4pm.  It will the biggest event of my day and quite physical.

Prob will just relax the rest of the afternoon / evening. and maybe read the paralegal textbook again.

Good plans!

I kind of commented on THIS entry on today's (Sunday's) entry, especially with respect to the project management class.

This weekend, I've been sleeping in both days. This is quite unusual for me, so all I can think is that I must have needed the extra rest. Nothing wrong with that as long as you're not hiding from the day.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/23/2020:
i don't think i'm hiding...i guess i just feel i don't need to be up so many hours when i'm "not working"

I’m the same height as you. I have an adorable pug/Frenchie mix named Frankie

Horn_of_plenty on 08/22/2020:
awww, adorable. i wish i had a dog...i can help you post a pic later..it's easy to post from your phone rather than a laptop for the photos, i find.

jacky82020 on 08/21/2020:
If I knew how to post a pic I would

Horn_of_plenty on 08/22/2020:
there's a symbol you press, in the area where you change your weight and other details, it looks like a photo, and there's a choice to upload photo.

Donkey on 08/22/2020:
What a lovely day! I would love to spend a chunk of time just listening to the waves.

This was a well deserved break. I hope your ankle isn't protesting too much.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/22/2020:
my ankle has been getting far better during my time off, overall.

my friend was NOT pleased with all the walking we did...i feel she has changed a lot ! but that is not for me to judge.

but for me, i will try to continue to push myself to do more active things outdoors and be creative like by volunteering.

i want to make my life more giving...i want to take part in more things....maybe one day the job situation will just work out - though usually that is by PLANNING for it to...

jacky82020 on 08/22/2020:
Yep, I see the photo icon and can get to my photos and upload a selected one, but then it fails. Will keep trying!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/22/2020:
well, i hope you figure it out so i can see your cute doggie!!!

jacky82020 on 08/22/2020:
I’m still trying. Says uploaded to server, but nothing. Actually have 3 dogs. An old boy reaching the end of his lifespan and Frankie, the pug/Frenchie mix and a Purebred French Bulldog. Got the two boys, in March, not long after my best girl passed. Frankie is one and the Frenchie is 2. Cutest boys ever!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/23/2020:
you may have to pick the other tab option...

Horn_of_plenty on 08/23/2020:
soooo jealous of your dogs! i wanted a dog but do not feel i could give it enough of my time, especially when i go back to work!

jacky82020 on 08/23/2020:
Maybe someday you’ll have more time for a pooch. I will try later to upload pics from my laptop instead of this iPad.

Whoever I get a response here, I have to scroll down to the bottom of all our posts. Tedious enough now, but will be much worse as time passes. Wonder if I’m doing something wrong???

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 115.0

Well, it's a Happy Thursday here in Queens, NY~

10am late Breakfast, slept in as usual lately:  oats 150, almond milk 50, bigger banana 150, dried pineapple 50, blueberries 120 (huge breakfast i guess!) it's almost TOM and anything goes right now...and coffee 30. 550..

2pm late healthy lunch: leftover really tasty salmon from parents smaller piece..300, with chips. 300. during workout before i shower and start my review of this project, yup, waited till last minute. should be OK.

3pm-5pm - planned my presentation to take place during class !

5pm chocolate 100

7:45pm dinner when class ended: leftover tofu 150, leftover veggies, pickled tomatoes not great turning bad 100 too much vinegar, pretzels 2 servings 250. 500.

1950...may have a piece of fruit as well.

chocolate 60

2010... bed soon :-)

I slept in. Didn't set an alarm for this morning.  I have one activity of Major importance today - plan and practice by 5-10minute project presentation to be delivered tonight around 5pm during my LAST project management class. I am SO HAPPY i'm at the end...just have to plan & practice this presentation today. I chose to wiait until today to do it because i knew i'd be home today with enough time to do it (rather than planning a few days ago to start doing the work, i waited until last minute, my choice).

I want to get my weights done before i start doing the work for my last class of project management...those are semi-important too. It's also healthier than just sitting around the whole day...

After class today, I may do some light cardio - either walking outside or just the indoor stationary bike, actually, sounds good enough.

AND I CLEANED THE SHOWER TODAY :) THANK GOSH. i think i'm procrastinating my assignment due today...didn't start yet - chose to exercise and clean up first...i'll start the work around 3pm...be done for 5pm class, no biggie.

tomorrow, FRIDAY, i wake up earlier - beach again with my friend Christine (a much more relaxing type of beach visit than with family...LOL). EASY DAY once at beach. we'll prob do some takeout (she loves the takeout thai place by me...otherwise, i really don't need takeout...so maybe i'll just get soup...iDK...i have a lot of salmon still...maybe i can freeze it tonight.

Saturday i'm planning to stick around here...i have an online (free) test review course 9-2:30pm! then i plan to do weights again, take a light walk?

Monday I have a guy coming (only from 10am-noon) to install Verizon service in my apt since i'm switching internet services...then not sure (but another day that's not totally busy) ...def some reading and doing HW for paralegal which i'll know the work since it will be online Monday. Need to pick up a shirt at the cleaners...I might take another interview also for Monday, but may cancel if I hear anything from the interview i went on this past Monday.....RETURN THE OLD SERVICE APPLIANCES TO SPECTRUM...

Tuesday I'm at beach, all day, with mom and sister and baby (dad back to work for a few weeks before he retires)...DON'T REALLY WANT TO GO ALL DAY, BUT, SOMETIMES CANNOT REFUSE FAMILY.

Wednesday - OPEN...- i def am looking forward to a very open day, as i think time is ticking till i may start working :)

I have 6 more weeks of Paralegal course, starting next Monday coming up....if i have to do it and i am working, so be it....

Progress as of today: -5 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 08/20/2020:
Your days are paked full...what a great time to take the classes.....even if you end up overlapping that and work a little....good use of your time accomplishing that!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
i admit there's a lot of time on the couch when i'm not doing things. i think i make it seem busier than i really am!?

yes, if i overlap the rest of paralegal it's not a big whoop. i'm glad that there's no presentation for that. it's just an online instruction pass/fail. ..it's more important i get a job in the next couple months prob than to "do my absolute best" on a web course....if you get me.

it's important now that i adjust my priorities to trying to get a job..i hope that earlier interview works out, but will prob not know till next week..

otherwise, i do have a couple other options that have popped up for potential jobs. i will have to try harder, but hopefully i get the one that sounds so good that i interviewed for...

def a need to change priorities now to job hunting starting middle of next week (after this busy weekend / starting second half paralegal / after visiting parents on Tuesday and also a few other important things that have to get done....) after that, i cannot further wait for the job. we'll see what happens!

legcramps on 08/20/2020:
Good luck on your project presentation tonight!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
it went very well :) so glad it's DONE. so glad.

Maria7 on 08/20/2020:
Wow, you have a busy schedule!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
haha, compared to some people i know...my schedule is LIGHT! i'm so serious. i know people that work 3 jobs! i couldn't!!!! or i wouldn't want to!

Donkey on 08/20/2020:
Bravo!!! Congratulations!!! I can't believe you're done with your project class already! I remember when you started how insurmountable it all seemed. And you did it!!!

I love seeing your posts on FB about the volunteering you're doing! Looks and sounds like so much fun :)

I'm also glad your interview went well and it is a position that you would look forward to taking on. Fingers crossed for you!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
thank you so so much!!!

the volunteering is so fun and just a short portion of the day, which i like a lot.

Donkey on 08/19/2020:
Ohhhh I'm not sure how I feel about canceling the farm for the beach, which you'd rather not do ... perhaps I read that wrong.

Sorry, right now, both sound better than a law firm to new, lol.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
yup, i would have preferred the farm i think!!! and i was supposed to bring my friend JEN that day :( so i also had to cancel plans with her....to make my family happy. she understands. she may even still go volunteer on her own!

yea, both sound better than work right! :)

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
sometimes going to see parents, for a large portion of the day, makes it so i don't feel i did anything productive the whole day...it would be better if it was shorter visits...like i did yesterday which went well!

Do your parents swim or just relax on the shore at the beach. I'm sure they like to visit with you since you have time off right now. It's great though that you do have so many things to do right now. You are being really productive!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/20/2020:
My parents like to walk on the shore of the beach. My dad will go into the ocean when it's hot. My mom cannot swim and will not join him. There's a pool and kiddie pool, so my sister is also there and brings her baby in both pools (he's almost 2). They walk a lot, like i was saying, on either the short boardwalk or the beach shore along the ocean.

They do love when i visit. I like to visit but sometimes the length of the visit really becomes excessive and I am glad i went home early yesterday, before dinner, so i didn't have to come home later in the evening. I was able to do a few more things at home myself which is nice - when i got home...

9am Got up after laying in bed to have a fast breakfast before getting out the door in time to make it to volunteering at the Queens Farm again today (and I will go again on Sunday, too!) oats 150, mulberries 100, macadamia milk 50, little kombucha 50. 350

Noon snack after volunteering (which was great as always!) granola bar 100

2pm meal back at home: plums (2) 100, chips 3 servings it was a new one that was really, really good a guacamole flavored tortilla 450, iced coffee, spiked drink 100..

I did get tired as usual after volunteering and fell asleep, set my clock for 20 min...got up but wasn't productive before my class that started at 5pm... :( the coffee i drank before i fell asleep helped for me to stay awake after the nap..!

snack at 6pm: pretzels 150

7:30 during class: big cookie, lots of crumbs from the other cookies too LOL 200...will try to walk outside after this class since i didn't do much walking today.

10pm 2 wraps 250, pb 100

I went to the supermarket to stock up since i had a good coupon for it; right after volunteering. got home and had a quick shower, now relaxing on couch a bit...but will do some reading and then take the online PM class again...the last class will be Thursday, when we present - so thursday during the early hours of the day is the day i'm going to be prepping for the class presentation, only.  right now, i'd rather just do reading for the paralegal which will start Monday for the second half...

the interview was very good...so i have my fingers crossed. they asked for references, so I emailed them last night with 4 references, all from my former employment that I am on layoff from.

tomorrow, i have plans for the beach with my family, all day.

Progress as of today: -5 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 08/18/2020:
I think it's great that you are volunteering at a farm......maybe meet some new friends.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/18/2020:
everyone is soooo nice. i like them a lot. :) most older, but fun to socialize with them while there...if anything!!

they are super human beings <3!!!

Donkey on 08/19/2020:
At the interview, did they give you an idea of when they would have their decision by? Are you able to contact any of your references to see if they've been contacted yet?

Moving on... the farm experience sounds amazing! Glad you got in a nap afterwards. I bet that felt good!

horn_of_plenty on 08/19/2020:
They said sometime next week would be prob when they make their decision and yes my references at least 1 will tell me if they are contacted :) I was able to call the references to let them know about this job possibility !!!!

Farming is great !

update: the interview went pretty well. they said they have someone else to interview :( but that i'd hear from them soon.  They did ask for a references list which I just emailed them. it all went pretty well and they have their own indoor garage for parking...the chances for the job are decent enough..fingers crossed and enjoying my time unemployed for now :) Tomorrow morning i'm volunteering again at the farm!!

Ate lightly in AM...was on the go! 300...

got my hair straightened...should last several months...had the appt for over a month and was happy to keep it.

interivew is at 4:30...not gonna do crazy exercise or anything bc i cannot shower again or wet my hair right now. it looks very straight lol...we shall see if i do it again or if i continue to have shorter hair again...

lunch was arby's fried chicken and curly fries. approx 700? and an iced black coffee at home as well...i only wanted fast food, no veggies, as i am really bloated with TOM any day now!

3pm clementine 50

8:30pm cookie and almond milk with splashes of stevia and coffee 200 total.not enough to motivate...so had chips 200...(would've been nice to end the day really low in cals, but, then again, i'm not looking to binge tomorrow...) now 9pm starting these weights and will end by 10pm bc there's no way i'm doing them past 10pm!

got home from interview around 5:30-6...somehow i don't know WHAT i have done since then...REALLY...and now it's 8:30pm and I am starting weights now (bc tomorrow is the farm and i will be TOO TIRED after the farm for weights...and i have the class tomorrow night still)

gonna relax, maybe do leg exercises...and maybe upper body exercises tonight, after interview...

Oooh!!! A hairdo!!! What a treat!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2020:
It was, not the price, haha, but the 'do is SOOOO DIFFERENT and new. and very straight!

bearcountrygg on 08/17/2020:
Sounds like the interview went well...keeping my fingers crossed for you. The farm sounds like a lot of fun and learning new skills too.......

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2020:
Thank you Linda...i see you checked out my photos too!

it's so crazy with the interview bc they were actually looking for someone with less skills but will take me for their benefit. i just hope it works out...if not, i'll keep looking...

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2020:
the farm is perfect for unemployed people like myself that don't mind getting messy!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2020:
it's very close, the farm.

Donkey on 08/18/2020:
I'm so glad that the interview was a positive experience. That they shed for references is a good sign. It may just be what the other person presents that makes the decision. I sometimes think that our fate is not so much in our control, but rather depends on the actions of others.

Good plan to keep busy on the farm today. It will help you focus on something else and return your mindset to the fundamentals, rather than fixating on the interview and job.

it's low 70s today with the overcast and light rain only ! Worked out for volunteering 10a-12pm again at the farm today !! We picked sunburst cherry tomatoes, Bush beans and weeded around some herbs! It was of course a great feeling and the volunteers are always such nice people <3. I am so glad to keep doing it for at least next week, Tuesday and maybe Sunday depending on my job prospect.. overall I'm feeling good. Just will run some errands, pick up rx, spend the rest of today at home since the weather is perfect for that. I'll cook a little cauliflower dish too.

overall, my time off has been AMAZING. I am so thankful it went alright, that unemployment payments were substantive and I was able to study and totally live a life of freedom and enjoyment these past 5 months. I am forever thankful for the rest, sleep, freedom I have had during this time. I will never forget it! But I hope to begin a new job soon, fingers crossed that tomorrow's interview goes well.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/16/2020:
thank you, i totally hope so too!!

Donkey on 08/16/2020:
I'm very impressed by all that you managed to accomplish in this time off from work.

I'm very excited about your interview tomorrow, as this sounds like a very good fit. You have a skill set to contribute, and yet are open and able to accepting new procedures for projects as well.

Good luck!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2020:
thanks Donkey! thank you for the kind thoughts!

happy-1 on 08/16/2020:

took another walk. walked a lot today :)

6pm doing laundry and took a drink of wine/spiked seltzer mix...running low on my drinks, but i can drink the wine with seltzer instead of the spiked seltzers and save my cash...150

for dinner i am going to have a frozen pizza and a salad....relaxing and laundry for the rest of tonight (it's already after 6pm) and thinking about my week, doing some reading for the paralegal that will start up soon...everything is good in terms of my life and feeling good. salad - at least 150 calories, had a lot of olive oil. pizza was 450 cal.

2050 or so cals today. good.

lots of exercise, maybe another 5 mi type of day! :)

I have an interview on MONDAY for a job I actually feel PREPARED to take.  I hope it works out, will reveal more if it does. It's lower pay than the others, but it's totally related to my skills, i have actually slightly more skills than it requires, the pay could be good based on my skills being a little higher, the job is union, and it's in Queens, not NYC. all things are just generally positive abou tthis job...like i said, Interview is Monday :)  I had applied for it on Indeed months ago, forgot about it, and they contacted me on Friday. very happy about all of this.

doing my leg exercises that I didn't do yesterday quickly before going out to a bee walking spot with ricky -

we are driving to sands point preserve to do some walking today :)

So, what was supposed to be a peaceful and beautiful destination didn't turn out that way with Ricky...

we drove an hour to be there...we stopped for fast food on the way...all is pretty good...

...we get there, all is still OK....

...we start to walk a path, he is already telling me he wants to go "his way" and he will not go over the trails with me (short trails of 1mi or much less like 1/4-1/2 mile).

...i tell him to stop and look at my map with me...he refuses...

i tell him i won't be just following him like a dog or a child...that i'm sick of him telling me "no."

he starts to argue with me in public, of which i told him i refuse to be part of....

i walked away and did the trails on my own...he waited for me back at his car.

things may not ever improve with him and me. and that's OK.

we aren't married and we do not owe much to each other anymore.

i can't settle being treated as "less" than the other half in a relationship / friendship.

it actually might start to frazzle out between us...

this time, when he dropped me at home, i told him that i will not be contacting him and for him to contact me when he's ready.

i cannot stand how poorly he has been behaving lately.

Progress as of today: -5 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!

Donkey on 08/15/2020:
I'm glad he apologized. Enjoy your day!

horn_of_plenty on 08/15/2020:
Thanks and you too!!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 08/15/2020:
i am not sure i will be able to maintain the same kinda friendship with him after another not-so-great day with him today!

bearcountrygg on 08/15/2020:
How is that macadamia milk? I just saw some here the other day and forgot to put it in the cart....and didn't think about it until now...is there a specific taste?

Horn_of_plenty on 08/15/2020:
yeah, it's that "milkadamia" milk and it's pretty good. I got it as a change of pace. it's another milk with a really light taste and similar to almond milk. it's thicker than the 30cal almond milk and whiter. it's 50 cal for the unsweetened and a nice change of pace, but i guess it was a higher price. sometimes i need a change from the usual. it's pretty good!

bearcountrygg on 08/15/2020:
Good luck with th interview Monday.......Sounds like it is a lot more convenient!

horn_of_plenty on 08/16/2020:
Thank you, I hope it works out :)

Donkey on 08/15/2020:
Your dinner sounds delicious!

I'm feeling very positive about the job interview! Good luck! It sounds like it would be a good fit.

So I was reading along, thinking what a good day, only to get to the part about the argument. I'm glad that you asked the trails that you wanted to walk. And you did well not to engage in a public argument. What good can EVER come of that???

Perhaps a longer break is needed. Like 2 weeks. Our perhaps something is going on with R that is leaving him susceptible to flying off the handle like that.

Here's a plan: take a break, focus on you right now - classes, interview, family, health (both mental and physical). Just a thought.

horn_of_plenty on 08/16/2020:
The cucumber was amazing but the pizza was good until I finished it after already feeling full like halfway thru. I still got that overeating ingrained !

Yes totally taking a long break / forever break from him. I told him to contact me when he wants / if he wants. I cannot deal with his attitude..

happy-1 on 08/16/2020:
Hugs. He sounds really difficult. When was the last time he saw a doctor? This is starting to sound like a brain tumor-level personality change.

Horn_of_plenty on 08/17/2020:
yeah, he's difficult alright.
