today weather is colder and overcast so I am totally thinking about remaining home for today.

yesterday was fabulous with a majority of the afternoon spent outdoors.

i will def watch something on trading stocks today - maybe I will get a book off amazon ! With audible !!

Weights were yesterday and I don't see myself completing another lower leg workout today...actually, yes I will during people's court followed by bike!.

i will use the bike for sure and possibly a little light stepping though I'm not sure on the stepper.... 

ordered a cotton quilt for my bed for spring / summer on amazon and tried for the most inexpensive but still cotton. Got a used like new one to save an additional small amount!

I'm guessing not enough fat and protein in your evening meal to keep you satiated. Not that there's anything wrong with that - just gotta dig deep to stay away from additional snacking.

Yesterday was surprisingly pleasant here, and today should be too, but we're in for a cold spell come this evening into Friday. Friday night frost!

snacks pb on rice cake 150, kombucha 50-100, later sour gummies 150

cooked up some veggies for later to eat with my moms brisket that she gave me :) will eat with ricky - I cooked both spaghetti squash and riced cauliflower so they are ready for later. And I just realized I have both roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes - Ricky will be happy !

2pm lunch - toasted wrap with butter 200, soft boiled egg 100. 300. Chips 150

7-7:30pm dinner: moms brisket that was frozen - amazing and a bigger piece 400?, riced cauliflower with butter 200?, red pepper small piece, leftover roasted broccoli 50, dumb gummies lol 100. 750 


worked out upper body.

had a nice long walk with ricky and rest stops for sitting and recharging  along the way. 


its now around 11:30 and I'm going to shower after looking over just a few new legal words while cuddling my Guinea pigs...I will start on upper body exercises so that I'm done early in the day and can go walking in the warmest part of the day with Ricky at a nearby large but probably not crowded venue. Yesterday I wasted a lot of time so I think I'm already doing better.

i want to def learn about trading stocks and stock market so yes I will watch something on it soon.... I know I could have done it already but it's ok.... I'll start soon.

for me, it's always one thing at a time!

Sounds like today you will be accomplishing quite a bit!

I have never found enjoyment in learning about trading stocks...and i've had to take many classes/courses in this. I only retained enough to have given me a very basic understanding :)

Oh brisket! Oh my! What a delight!

I hope you can find a good class on sticks. Like Legs, I've tried too. Books, videos... On a very basic level, investment vehicles (stocks, hedge funds, REITs) are interesting, but when they start getting into the graphs, forget it.

I like the Investopedia website. I don't know if they have classes, but if you ever want an explanation on any investment topic, they prove clear explanations both to read and cool whiteboard videos.

1pm lunch - 1 soft boiled egg 80, 2 egg whites 50, last of my pesto sauce 100, wrap toasted 150. 400 approx 

3pm snack spiked seltZer, gummies 250 (no protein) 

horrible eating today totally not enough health to fill me up more kombucha 50

healthier dinner - some leftover chard, carrot and bean soup 200?, then a dessert of yogurt 150 with stevia mixed with a protein brownie 200. 550.

2050 - great considering I felt this afternoon like I was going to blow it. Thank gosh for healthy alternatives and some precooked veggie soup.


I may need to start eating a little bit healthier for my snacks, but, we'll see. Today I haven't been satisfied particularly bc we went out to exercise right after I ate lunch and then i came back shortly after and had snacks .... so all my eating was sorta messed up and also breakfast was a lot of calories compared to how I usually would eat while working / all at once and not as snacks, etc. 

i have a lot of eggs at home so one or both meals may include them :)

I should bike ride .....did a short half hour with ricky then it got too windy so I decided not to go out on my own to do more ...Ricky fixed his bike before we went riding :-) 

also did my legs strength exercises this AM before going out :-) 

Another beautiful day here starting at 70F and dropping to 60F by 5pm !!!! So I should get outside early maybe bike ride ? I have to do it by myself since Rickys bike is broken....?

I'm surprised to read that you felt like you almost blew it (eating wise) yesterday. It seems to me like you did well. Perhaps it was your dinner choices that "saved" the day.

Plus you had done exercise... and you've been eating a little less lately. So having a higher day mixes things up.

I’m eating too many empty calories lately especially with all the gummies it’s hard for me to want to change the pattern. At least they aren’t many calories anyways but I’m also being excessive with breakfast calories ..... anyways it’s important I get in some nutrition and be actually satisfied for more than 2 hours ! I did better today with a good lunch and dinner.

Yes dinner saved me yesterday.

It’s good I got some healthy meat and protein in at dinner time along with veggies :-)

Enjoy the beautiful weather while you can! We had a lovely weekend but the cooler air and rain has moved in quickly and will stay here all week. Maybe that means the nice weather will stay with you all week? That'd be nice!

It looks like a well done day, with respect to your menu. I realized after reading one of your comments to me, that I eat differently during the work week than I do when I'm off. I think I eat more at work.

The 75f to 80F yesterday was for some day but we have nice 60F spring weather for two more days without any rain !!!! Trying to be outside most days

Edit: sister cooked a banana bread for me to share so I drove back today to go pick it up from them and afterwards since it was a good time to go (dinner time) I went to supermarket that's by them with a great selection  of "essentials" like kombucha, yogurt, blueberries and ice cream and seltzer lol. And spiked seltzer. Total waste but makes me happy. I guess I didn't "stay out" of the supermarket as planned 1.5 weeks ago!



its a rainy day today so I will prob stay home and do some cooking of the other meal that I ordered which is chicken, roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli too :) 

im very into the book I picked out - sense and sensibility - and it's moving a long fast as I have it on audible as I follow along with reading the words! This can make a person faster at reading I think! Next book I will do the same way, for now.

legs and upper were dong yesterday so today is just a small bit of cardio :-) somebike and some stepper.

Ha ha - I think I know where you're coming from with the term "essentials". Do you need them to survive? Maybe not. Do you need them to stay sane? Most definitely!

And while some may criticize, I think it's important to try to keep as much "normalcy" to one's life if one can. For example, almonds are not "essential" but they are part of my routine. I would not go to the store for JUST almonds, but when I do finally venture out, it's on my list.

What did you think of the spiked seltzer? Does it taste differently than non-alcoholic seltzers? I presume they are flavored (but not sweet).

I thought you had picked out Pride and Prejudice. Did I miss something??

Perhaps the ice cream didn't live up to expectations because of the seltzer? I find that some combos are less successful than if consumed individually.

I might try your "read along" technique with other books I've wanted to read but just couldn't get into. War & Peace perhaps?

It’s nice having these snack foods helping me just maintain my weight as best I can :) I am lucky to live in a big city and also afford these types of treats !

Yes the spiked seltzer isn’t very sweet at all! I sweeten it with some drops of stevia

The ice cream is slightly higher calorie than most of the halo top flavors And it doesn’t add anything ! It’s called a Keto variety and flavor is “chocolate cheesecake” except it’s mostly very boring chocolate with hardly any cheesecake clumps at all! Terrible ! Prob worse b CB I had it after the Seltzer lol ...

I def need to do more “read alongs” and I still look up vocab and pause it as necessary :)

edit - bath mats and the sheet I forgot to wash are already in the dryer ! I'm so glad I did more laundry today and now everything is clean again! Boy does the laundry just keep piling up lol a week passes before we know it !

decided to do a more thorough wash this week including my comforter cover and couch throw blanket :). Washed everything except my bath mats which I'll do soon either this week again or just with next week's laundry! Guinea pig cage is clean again :)

my butt is stil sore from some of exercise of I think the stepper four days ago?! So I'm undecided If I will do leg strengthening today. I do have my upper body workout for today which I will do during the court tv shows.

im making progress on the book I'm "reading" with audible and looking at the text. Amazing. The book is passing faster than if I were to read it as the pace of the audible is pretty swift! I'm enjoying getting thru a book faster than if I were to read it myself! I think I'll do audible again following this book and a chapter of the project management textbook. I also need to start memorizing the other small pile of legal terms .... I'm debating watching some things online about stock trading.

Do you mean reading and listening at the same time ?! This is what I’m doing and I’m loving it :). But if you refer to going thru two diff books at the same timE, that’s not for me !!! :)

The butt pain is probably from my less than healthy laying on the couch all day making it worse :/

Luckily yesterday’s soreness is mostly gone - I do think it was from the stepper.

But this sciatica I hope will improve soon - it usually does and this is one of the worst instances of it that I’ve had

May I suggest looking up some stretches on YouTube for the sciatica...

Also helpful, for me in dealing with sciatica, is to not stay in any one position or activity for too long. So if you're sitting, get up and walk around or stretch or lie down. If you're walking, stop and sit for a bit. And so on...

Just some friendly suggestions :-)

I was going to start a lower body workout but my butt was rather sore so I stopped. I don't like to work sore muscles so I'll do it when I'm feeling better. I think my butt is sore from a step workout I did the other day. I did stepper Sunday but I could be sore from it - hoping it goes away along with the rest of my sciatica which has been unusually bothersome this month.

walked Over 3mi at park not crowded. Quickly visited parents maintaining distance and wearing mask - they gave me some meatballs and brisket 

Got all my amazon deliveries and ....gummies ! Today ! The chews are so bad (their latest product that I haven't finished yet) 

bought more chicken nuggets to have with dinner tonight from McDonald's when near my place bc I told Ricky I'd also bring him some McDonalds (yes two trips to McDonald's in one day!)

will go walking with ricky at 5 and also first make a quick video FaceTime call to a "friend" and her kids bc I had texted to wish my sympathies to her deceased grandfather and next text I get following says her kids like to FaceTime so I figured I would have to "produce" one FaceTime chat that I scheduled for today (don't really want to, but don't want to decline her desire). Not close with her anymore. So I figure I'll do it outside with ricky right before our walk and get off the phone quick!

i have therapist tonight at 8.

i have leftovers to eat from yesterday. So no need to cook anything beyond an egg or two. Glad I have some chicken in the freezer but also realize I have tuna packets so I'm not as low on protein as I think I am and don't need a supermarket :)

last night did a FaceTime chat thru Facebook and one of the four people didn't like we were taking photos of everyone during the chat! I would say that it's our phone and really up to us what we do even if it's her wish we don't. That's my take. However if she doesn't want us to post them, then of course I wouldn't. I get annoyed though when trying to have fun and relax with friends this one friend makes it all stuffy and up tight bc she is so self conscious...it annoys me bc even in my friendship with her, it means I have to work to watch what I say and how I act bc she is so easily bothered. I cannot take lots of photos with her and post on Facebook and she takes so much I say the wrong way. Obviously I shouldn't let her reactions get to me but I do bc she's a closer friend and sometimes her actions make me feel responsible for something negative that happens. It makes me not want to video chat with her again with this group only to have something else Negative occur on the next chat. Ah whatever it's not a big deal but just strange I have to write this. Sometimes I just she could relax more.   so she said "you have to ask me to take photos" or you have to let me know if you take a photo and she doesn't have the app on her phone to see how easy it is to snap one and I didn't even know I was snapping my first one till I experimented with the chat buttons on my phone... it's just like I can't stand it with these extra rules and regulations. I get her, I understand her, but really ?!   honestly lately when I chat with her she doesn't mean to but I am talking even on the phone and she just answers rudely sometimes and I don't think I do it to her but then again I'm not listening to the phone call unbiased so who knows. Makes me want to talk to her less overall.

also my parents and sister have warned me not to text my sister at all from 7-9pm everyday and also after lunch or before lunch they haven't specified the time there so I don't wake the baby .... can't she just put her darn phone on silent ? It took them all the way until this week to actually let me know the hours not to text instead of texting me back with "don't text me" without any polite way of saying it. I guess I take offense to little things. Or "stop texting". It's good she finally said the hours 7-9 and she should have done it sooner.

all I know Is every phone has silence and when I mentioned that to my family, I got a whole angry father telling me just to listen lol 

it's like can't we all just relax!

Oh my goodness, sounds like everyone is on edge! Honestly, I know it's because people are really stressed and anxious these days, but seriously it doesn't take much to be kind to others. Everyone is going through stuff and it doesn't help to take it out on the ones closest! I really think it's unreasonable that you are only to text at certain times...I agree that you can put your phone on silent if you don't want to receive texts during a specific time - or turn it off altogether!

Regarding your friend with the restrictive social media "rules" -- I get where she's coming from, too, but that's way too complicated for me. When things get complicated like that, I just pull back. (I think that's one reason why I don't talk to my mom much... and why I'm avoiding visiting my brother, too.)

I can understand why your sister doesn't want to put her phone in silent, but how are you supposed to know not to text during certain times unless someone tells you? Now you know, now you'll do better.

6pm dinner bean and chard stew 250? And smaller prices of garlic bread with Parmesan 300 garlic and butter oil ..600 tops

edit - after dropping off bedding I was dressed warm and drove to a park which wasn't crowded and walked :) I did skip legs today. Talked on phone a lot and cooked .... now will listen to my audio book :) overall today was a change of pace ! 


soon after breakfast going out for a short drive to deliver free leftover hamster bedding (haven't had hamster for 6 months about) to someone I said I'd bring it to on Facebook marketplace- I want to drive as I don't drive too often and it's very local - next couple towns away.

did weights last night and also last night did stepper for 28 minutes and then decided it was enough before any discomfort in ankles starts :) 

it's cold and not sunny today so besides the drive I'll be staying indoors all day.

i will cook the bean stew and also I may cook up other veggies so they don't spoil and I have them on hand for the week. Even if the veggies were for the other meal, I may just cook all of them. 

I have a book to read instead of textbook, but, maybe I'll actually do both - we'll see. The book is Pride and Prejudice a famous classic I never read. I got it both visual/audio and al thinking to just read along with the audio - takes around 6 hours which means I'd finish the book ina week or so. Maybe far less. 

I did stepper yesterday and might repeat it today. I also want to do bike. But most of all, I will get in some leg strength exercises today - this is what I want to do most as strength work builds muscle and therefore creates shape and look :) and I do care about that :)

Yes it worked out wonderfully and I was soooo surprised how close I lived to her...: and that her community looked so similar to my own since I hadn’t ever driven through it :). It brought me around my neighborhood’s surroundings and I’m glad I went out !

That's a good idea to get in some driving practice AND go to a park for a walk!

I loved reading Jane Austen, although I can't remember if I read Pride and Prejudice. I think not, since I usually try to read a famous author's lesser known books. I believe I read Sense and Sensibility, and LOVED it! Also read Persuasion, and loved it! That's a keen idea to read along with the audio book!

Yes I like to structure things so it’s easy to get a couple things accomplished by placing them one after the other in the day’s activities:)
