Good day! Nice weather, low stress.

Took the doggos out twice - walked up a great big hill - very satisfying at the top.

Doesn't look too high, but it was a struggle to get up there...to me. The side walk has two turns winding up the hill.

B: yogurt, granola - vanilla iced latte

L: ceaser salad, nachos

D: ceaser salad, nachos and grilled chicken

Today - should be low stress too - working on a few things from home.

Off tomorrow and Thursday - with blood work.

Blood sugar this a.m. 114

and I finally got the scale to move - so hopefully I will be to my 299 goal by next Thursday for the doctor's appointment.

Have a great day! IP

Progress as of today: 36.9 lbs lost so far, only 91 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 11/10/2020:
Nice walk! Good menu.

Jacky82020 on 11/11/2020:
Such lovely views! Tasty menu. The pups must love those walks!

Donkey on 11/11/2020:
GOOD JOB on your weigh in! I hope your sugar test goes well!

I took half a day off for Veterans' Day. Why not, after all...

horn_of_plenty on 11/11/2020:
Congrats on sticking to your goals. And lower weight !

And having lower stress!

A very happy entry by you!

legcramps on 11/12/2020:
Well done! Way to stick with it even though I know you were frustrated some days. All your walks look amazing!

Friday I made pizza and ate some - i didn't even binge

I ordered from instacart because I am not going out.

Saturday - up later than usual about 8:30

Waiting on Instacart to arrive between 10-noon.

Walked the doggos, mowed the grass, stayed pretty low for the day - DH and I snarky to each other so it wasn't a pleasant day.

B: scrambled eggs, toast

L: left over pizza

D: Multigrain cereal, milk

DH spent most of the evening putting up Christmas lights - I watched football...because FOOTBALL!

up earlier

B: vanilla yogurt and granola

S: croissant, egg, bacon

L: 3 chicken fingers

D: beer brats, cole slaw -

This would have been OK, but the hogie rolls put me over by 296 calories - but the bread was divine!

Did laundry, walked the doggos twice, helped DH a micro bit with the decorations - because NO...too early for that!

Walked around the newly renovated Cascade Park - weather perfect! There were so many people out...bumped into them all over.

Got a tutor for the girl with help for Biology and English and maybe Spanish she hasn't decided yet.

I will talk to her more on Wednesday.

Working from home - probably all this week - Wednesday is veteran's day and I am off this day and I took annual leave on Thursday for appointments...so only three days of work.

B: granola and vanilla yogurt

L: caesar salad

D: caesar salad and grilled chicken

BS this a.m 128 (I didn't take it over the weekend)

Have a great day! IP

Progress as of today: 35.9 lbs lost so far, only 92 lbs to go!

Jacky82020 on 11/09/2020:
Christmas lights! I have a few up, need more, love love them. Great pics as always!

Donkey on 11/10/2020:
I dislike taking nature walks and running into so many people that I need a mask. WTH.

Good job with the food, even with the Hoagie bun!

I'm ok with Christmas coming early this year. :-)

Horn_of_plenty on 11/10/2020:
haha~....so i'm reading your entry and all of a sudden....."FOOTBALL!".....i smiled at that!

Those pics are so beautiful of the parks! we don't have a lot of parks that have "forceful" moving water like yours...just a few. so it's nice to see the dams and different waterways by you!!

I worked in the office a few hours...left to pick up the girl.

Made her chicken alfredo without broccoli, because we didn't have any. I thouht we did, it was still pretty good...but the broccoli crunch salad kit we ate had the broccoli in it instead.

Couldn't really get motivated to go for a walk...so after eating pasta and no walk, blood sugar this a.m. was 144....higher than usual.

No plans for the weekend - we may do some yard work and go on a few hikes, weather is supposed to stay in the 70's this weekend...so great!

WIll try to instacart today, kinda freaking out about the 'rona' again...govenor is like...'it's all over the place!' been down that road, not going again!

B: multi grain cheerios, vanilla iced latte

L: left over chicken alfredo

D: BBQ chicken pizza

I have decided to have the pizza, because I am craving it. I have also opted to make it myself than to order Domino's or Papa John's...because I won't have left overs when I do it myself.

DH and I went for a walk this morning...so, so pleasant, I do still think falling leaves make for dust...EVERYWHERE!

Here is a brilliant tree I seen, maybe the sun, maybe because it was the only color around...who's to say!

Have a great weekend! IP

Maria7 on 11/06/2020:
What a BEAUTIFUL tree!!! Yes, some days it just 'has' to be pizza...We got a couple in our freezer and I am just waiting on the craving for pizza, to have one of them soon....

Mixed emotions...

Had a good day yesterday was able to get two walks in, it was almost 75 so we walked at Indian Hollow - so many leaves, all the crunching, sure was dusty.

B: Ezekiel bread

L: grilled chicken, cottage cheese

D: grilled chicken, tomato, cucumber

Blood sugar this a.m. 118

Will leave for blood work shorting and then go to the office for a few hours.

I will get the girl later...she wants chicken alfredo, so will make this for her tonight.

B: Ezekiel bread

D: Chicken alfredo with brocolli

Have a great day!

So appointment for lab is 11/12/20 - so I screwed the pooch on that one.

Appointment to see doctor is 11/19/20 - so though I have a few weeks more time, I sure wanted a pizza tomorrow!

Oh, those are so beautiful! You have the loveliest woods & take fantastic photos.

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
Nice photos! 75 sounds like heaven!

Maria7 on 11/05/2020:
Very sweet photos. Thanks for sharing with us.

bearcountrygg on 11/05/2020:
I never bought the Ezekiel bread when i had a chance...and now that I want that...i can't find it.....How do you like it?

innerpeace on 11/05/2020:
I like the taste of it...but it can have the texture of sandpaper if you leave it too long in the toaster.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/05/2020:
seems you are using all of your power to have a good blood sugar number right!? you are doing GREAT... so have the pizza tomorrow? you still have some time.

DH picked up the girl and dropped her at the orthodontist's office. He went to work and I picked her up. They still will not let people in the waiting room, so you either wait in the car or go back and pick her up when finished.

She was kinda sad today - as her other people are arguing, she even said her mom was leaving - to where I don't know.

I walked the doggos - I couldn't believe how many other dogs were out.

Got home and made the taco bake with salad and green beens...it was pretty good.

Tried to watch the election but soon bored of it, so I watched Hancock...kinda monitoring this a.m.

blood sugar this a.m. 131

B: Ezekiel bread

L: left over taco bake

D: grilled chicken, tomato and cucumber salad, cottage cheese

Tomorrow my appointment is 10:15, so I will go to the office a few hours after, but I can't stay...because COVID-19 is out of control.

Walk this a.m. was very pleasant and I love Tuesday night and Wednesday morning walks, because ppl put there garbage to the curb and I don't have to carry poop bags home, I just drop it in a trash bin.

Picture form the morning sky...absolutely perfect blue!!

Have a great day! IP

grannyannie on 11/04/2020:
It's so stressful for kids to hear parents and other family arguing.

Maria7 on 11/04/2020:
Taco bake sounds delicious.

Jacky82020 on 11/04/2020:
Such a gorgeous blue! They won’t allow anyone except the patient in medical offices here. Fine with me! Some vets were carrying/walking pets from the owners’ vehicles and didn’t even allow people inside They talk on the cells during the exam.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
it's good the girl could be with you, i'm sure you lift her sadness or at least she can talk to you about it.

what do you mean that Covid is out of control? i assume you mean that your area/state has too many cases and they are increasing too rapidly so they are actually shutting down the office?

lol, great idea in not having to carry the poop bag all the way home...i can see myself doing that in the future if the opportunity strikes (and i get a dog!) ha!

Maria7 on 11/04/2020:
Wow, that IS a blue sky! Beautiful!

Donkey on 11/05/2020:
I feel bad for the girl. It's hard to be in a home where there is fighting, even silent fighting hurts.

I looked up at the sky during my walk (Wednesday), and it was blue just like your photo, and I thought of you!

Oh boy...not only is this a crazy time with elections, DH is freaking out too.

The girls texts him and asks him questions about the upcoming court date. Apparently the girl's mother and step-father are arguing and when they argue she gets pulled into it and oh, the stories they can tell. The latest is that the (I guess the courts) are going to open this divorce that took place in 2014 and only say she can visit her dad once a week. This freaks the girl out, so she calls DH and he is beside himself. DH also received a call from the YA and he never calls unless he wants something. He told DH...Dad whatever you do, get the girl out of that house! This is all and well now, but when the date actually comes around the YA will be nowhere to be seen to repeat his words in court. Anyway, DH is acting weird, so I just let him. He is more comfortable sleeping in the recliner...so sleep in it.

Not going into the office today - I didn't even want to leave my house, but the girl has an orthodontist appointment and I seriously doubt her mother is going to take her...she already asked me to come and get her.

I ate pretzels last night - a few handfuls. Probably shouldn't have.

Dinner - grilled chicken, cucumber, tomato salad with a little avocado

Slept ok.

BS this a.m was 135 - stress and pretzels don't mix.

B: ezekiel toast

L: grilled chicken, cottage cheese, avocado

D: taco bake

Scale back down to 303 today...so there's still hope before 11/12.

Have a great day!

Progress as of today: 34.9 lbs lost so far, only 93 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 11/03/2020:
Just so much stress everywhere.......sometimes you just have to tie a knot in that old rope and hang on. Good for you letting it just pass by....Hopefully your blood work works out fine....

Jacky82020 on 11/03/2020:
There’s always hope!

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
Too much stress! I really hope you get custody and everything will be settled.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/03/2020:
perhaps YA can be persuaded to come to court.

Donkey on 11/04/2020:
The stress is out the roof.

Got the girl

DH had a pot roast in the crock post so that was dinner.

Weekend just ok.

DH came home Friday with back issues - seems like a few of you had the same problem. He nestled down with a heating pad most of the weekend....no scavenger hunt.

DH did go and pick up the Tony Bologna boy, he helped do a few chores around the house - put up patio furniture, take down pergola cover, bring out snow blower...all the things DH didn't want to do or couldn't do because of his back hurting. He is a nice kid and didn't mind helping. And he took the both the girl and Bologna boy shopping and bought me a new recliner. Was not expected, so this was really nice.

DH and I did go shopping and he pushed the cart leaning on it the whole way - he said he felt better...but really didn't in the end.

B: chicken, bacon, crossant

D.We had Chipotle Saturday night.

I walked the dogs, twice...two short walks on Saturday and we pretended we weren't home on Halloween. I did see quite a few kids, but I didn't want to contribute to corona...I do not even want to go through that again.

Sunday - wind and rain and cold - I was able to walk the doggos once.

B: Cereal

L: chicken/avocado egg rolls

S: left over roast beef sandwhich

D: grilled chicken and caeser salad

Monday - in the office half the day and home the rest....

Still working on projects, hopefully get a few finished this week.

BS pretty stable over the weekend between 124-115.

This a.m. it was 126

Last big push before blood work on Thursday!

Have a great day!

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
Good you can get the dogs out. We don’t actually walk ours. They have a big fenced in yard and we toss balls inside the house. The pug/Frenchie mix is super hyper. The Frenchie is not very active to say the least.

Hate blood draws! You poor kid. Last time the tech sucked and I came home with bruises on both arms.

bearcountrygg on 11/02/2020:
Good luck with the blood work...you have been working so hard to keep it down...you have come a long long way with control with what you are eating......good job!!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
i've heard back issues are the WORST. i have also read that stress (mental / job stress, etc) can affect some people and they will have even more of a pain occurring in their back!

my parents decided to take a trip on halloween, 2 hours out east to almost the end of Long Island for wine! hahaha....just because they weren't going to give out candy! ha!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
that is so nice Tony Balogna helped out!

Donkey on 11/03/2020:
Good luck on Thursday! Keep working at it!

I agree, that was nice of Tony :-)

I picked up the girl...she was OK.

I get home and make hamburger steak with onions and mushrooms. I thought I had potatoes but found they all grew not only eyes, but roots as well. For the 2nd time in my life I used instant potatoes...and to be honest, they weren't all that bad. And broccoli. I also made a meatloaf, that's what DH said he wanted - we will eat the meatloaf for lunch and dinner today.

After dinner I took the doggos out for a walk.

I broke my recliner, sat in it and just about fell to the floor, this has been a long time coming, I just refuse to spend money on a new one right now.

Slept pretty good.

Blood sugar this morning 126.

B: frittata, vanilla iced coffee

L/D: Meatloaf sandwich maybe for lunch and left over potatoes and brocolli for dinner

Scale is a belligerant little F&Cker ther morning...we had words - and again it was sent to the corner not to be seen or heard from until Monday!

This weekend I signed us up for a Pirate Treasure Hunt at the park. Taking hiking sneakers and the doggos and run around in the park looking for stuff.

Still haven't heard from the Duck Brand...but still hopeful.

Have a great evening! IP

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
Treasure hunt sounds fun!

legcramps on 10/29/2020:
I've had instant potatoes before too and haven't disliked them, but I will eat almost anything ;) (my stomach doesn't feel the same way as my taste buds).

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
those were sweet poems you shared with us! I really like the second one, about crossing the street. I may share with my sister who is a mom to an almost 2-yr old!

OH MY! i'm glad you didn't get hurt when your recliner broke! now i guess it's mandatory you get a "new" one. maybe there's used on amazon or something with a discount on amazon...

your cooking sounds very tasty and i'm sure the meatloaf was good. i have a friend who made a meatloaf and i couldn't eat it...it was too bland without any flavor!

Yesterday just plain sucked!

Rain, misty, cold all day - we may get snow Sunday; so not ready for snow.

Couldn't walk because of the rain - I piddled around the house and watched TV. I forgot just how much I watched TV before I started walking.

Slept good. Blood sugar this a.m. 122

DH went and walked with me at break time with the doggos. Here is a picture I took - it reminded me of a poem my son would recite when he was 3 or 4 when he was in preschool and had just learned these poems.. We took him trick or treating and he recited them to us...many times - so so cute.

The leaves are gently falling down

Red, gold, orange and brown

They make a carpet on the ground....or words to that affect.

The other poem he said was - When crossing the street, use your eyes and use your ears before you use your feet.

Working from home - kinda busy and working on dumb projects I pushed aside. They are due now.

Will go get the girl at some point.

B: fritattas, vanilla iced coffee

L: chicken avocado egg rolls (i got these from Aldi - tasting them for the first time)

D: meat loaf, brocolli, salad - maybe potatoes (not decided)

Depending on the weather (it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow - thanks -hurricane Zeta) we may get to walk one more time tonight.

Have a great day! IP

I hope it doesn't get too icy from that rain! It has been snowing and raining here lately, and making for very icy streets. I haven't been out on my bike this week because i've been under the weather, but even if I wanted to i'd have a hard time on that ice. Be careful!

grannyannie on 10/28/2020:
Nice photo.

Jacky82020 on 10/28/2020:
Looks like my lawn!

I did some research on glucose meters and was shocked and pleased to see the $9 Reli On at Walmart has excellent reviews. Many ppl saying it’s very close to their more expensive devices. I ordered one for my Friday Walmart pickup, along with test strips and lancets.

Donkey on 10/29/2020:
I love those poems! I still remember parts of one from my performance at the 1st grade Christmas pageant:

Christmas cookies, Christmas cookies Nice to smell, good to eat.

Truer words could not have been spoken.

Some days I just can't...

Last night DH in a snit, I was in a snit not very good company either one of us...in short work blows!

We ordered out from the diner.

I ate a chicken, bacon, ranch wrap. It was just OK.

DH sulked and I played a game and watched the baking competition. It was raining all day probably contributed to the bad moods.

This morning working from home - and again - I have nothing! I don't want to do my job - I am just barely getting by.

Scale was up 2 pounds this morning - very disgusted with this.

Blood sugar this a.m. 137

B: egg, bacon fritata, iced vanilla latte, iced tea

L: chicken, tomato, cucumber

D: same as lunch

I will try to take the doggos out - it is cold so we won't be out long.

DH is working at noon - they just jerk him around any ole way - it just gets really old.

Have a great day! iP

It’s been wet and cold here too. The French Bulldog stayed outside for 15 minutes and then came inside and pooped the floor!

grannyannie on 10/27/2020:
Rain makes me grumpy too.

bearcountrygg on 10/27/2020:
I think a lot of people are grumpy right now......everything is a bummer.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/27/2020:
I am sorry you are struggling now. Like Bear said, and she's right, many people are grumpy right now and there's something called "Pandemic Fatigue" going on...

Donkey on 10/28/2020:
Nice Lady and I were just talking about how stressed out we are about everything. So on the surface, we try to live our lives but there's this constant negative cloud overhead: COVID, Supreme Court, etc.

I hear you!
