When I got home I immediately took the dogs for a walk at the same time. I maybe shouldn't have done this. Rocco was crazy pulling, he does this the first third of the way until he settles down. A good time was had by all. I might do this again if my feet are feeling better by the time I get home.

Weird that my feet hurt, I've never had foot pain before.

I made the beef stroganoff, and that left over steak made four servings of beef stroganoff, back in the day, I wouldn't have a problem eating that steak all by myself.

They make leash/halter things for pulling dogs....if he stops that you will probably enjoy the walk better yourself......( they make the dog uncomfortable when it pulls....doesn't hurt them...but they don't like the sensation.)

I had one of those for Steve and he chewed the connection strap off when it was left in his reach. I may look for one for Rocco, he's the one that does all the pulling.

I used a front attach harness for my dog because she could just pull me along like a sled. It knocks their center of gravity off and makes it easy to just turn in a circle every time they start to pull. It took a couple of weeks, but it was the key step in getting her to walk next to me, sit at the door, and wait at curbs.

Foot pain could be loosening tendons, which without orthotics get looser over time. Worth getting checked out and a referral for PT or orthotics. For orthotics, I'd buy everything they have at Big 5, take them with me and have them tell you which ones you need and return the rest. Orthotics that are custom run $500 and wear out in 3-6 months.

i also can eat a large volume of food (like you could in the old days with the steak!)...so lately i do what i have been doing all along ... LOTS of veggies and volume in my meals...it's helped a bit although i have started to gain weight overall from when it's NOT just veggies adding to the volume...like more bread/meats lately too when i have dinners with my folks on the weekends.

Are you wearing sneakers when you go walking? I'm guessing that your foot pain is due to a shoe issue - either not the right shoe or you need a new shoe.

DH and I were up early and went walking this morning. At first he was like...YOU really don't want to, just lay back down. I said, get up, it will be good for you. So we went walking. It wasn't so bad then, but I am feeling it in my feet and legs this morning sitting at my desk.

The dogs wanted to go so bad, I may just take them when I get home. They love to go places.

Before the new year I applied for a mentorship program. I was accepted. Now I am at the stage to pick a mentor, however, I have talked myself out of being in the program and just sent an email to decline the acceptance. I just think I have to concentrate on my personal goals right now and not so much of my professional ones. I am not in a position that has any advancement opportunities so I can't see the benefit of having a mentor, especially when the mentors are all weather professionals. And then I'm thinking why would a weather professional give a crap about the career of the admin person. They want to mold young up and coming meteorologist. Anyway...that is that!

I think this will be a slow week at work.

I dunno... I think it would be fun to mentor someone seasoned with work experience. It would let me focus on passing along the most interesting part of what I do instead of the other 80% which is basic job stuff. Plus the person I mentored would be more serious about changing roles and more likely to continue. What's the difference between being a weather person and what you do? What additional training would you need to switch roles?

I work at the weather service, 90% of the employees are meteorologist. I am the administrative assistant...I do not care to learn about weather. It doesn't interest me one bit.

i was walking a lot on Saturday with my folks and i felt it Sunday. I tend to feel it also, on my left leg/ankle since it's weak and just never has been the same after breaking it. i get sore easily in my legs as well....but i'm glad you walked.

Another day of eating meat!

B: French toast toast


D: half of DH's ribeye, brocolli and Brussel sprouts.

He cooked me a steak but he cut his in half and we both ate it. There is a steak I'm supposed to use for beef stroganoff tomorrow...so meat again.

I told him after that...we are no more meat. We were doing so well...or I was.

Tomorrow though, he did say he would go walking with me, he even dug his hat and gloves out, so we will see if we can actually get up and do it.

Did 4 loads of laundry today and watched a lot of TV got hooked on some Crossword Puzzle mysteries.

I'm ready for Monday!

D and I often eat different meals now........you could go meatless and just eat the side dishes....but I can attest...it's not always easy resisting. Beef provides iron and there is that.....

 Complete bust of a day.

up at 7:30 we ordered breakfast. I had 2 eggs over easy and bacon and French toast. Ate a lot. Then we watched a movie and took a nap.

we went to our Zentangle class and it wasn't what I thought it would be it was more of a coloring class with nature sounds. It was ok.

DH and I went shopping and I bought the Ezekiel bread I love and then I bought some more leeks and radicchio lettuce and other veggies.

for dinner I had a big fat cheese burger and a blondie brownie. Just really screwed up today but I'm ok with it - I enjoyed the good.

DH mentioned he wanted to start walking again. I'm up for it and see if he keeps his word.

when we started out it was 68degrees when we got home it was 41 degrees this temperature drop seriously did a number on my head and I've had a headache for the past four hours and I'm hoping it goes away before bedtime.

tomorrow will be a better day with food!

I have a friend who does Zentangle. She says it's very relaxing. I'm not really sure what she has to worry about, since she stays at home and knits all day, all but one of her kids are out of the house (and the youngest is a Junior in high school), nice home, handsome husband with an executive job... I guess we all have our stressors...

Rain is here for the weekend. It makes everything so damp and dreary.

Why you don't have dogs. Rocco puked on my bedspread last night, and then he jumps down and runs into the living room and pukes on the new carpet. I cleaned up the bed and DH cleaned up the living room carpet. Oh DH was home so this is well after midnight. There is nothing like waking up to your dog heaving on the bed.

Just when I think I am back to sleep, my cell phone goes off with an Amber Alert! Seriously...it is 1:30 in the morning, I'm wondering how many people got up to look out for the tan Dodge Caravan. I hope the child was found anyway. The last time, the mother did an amber alert just because her ex took off in her car. No kids involved.

Told the girl she could see Cats, but after reading some of the reviews...I'm like meh never mind. I don't want to see cockroaches with human faces...EVER!

The girl opted for Chipolte tonight. This is fine I can get vegatarian there, but we just had this two weeks ago. I think I am chipolte'd out. DH said he wanted it to, democracy rules.

Short to do list this weekend

*wash comforter and make spare bed up

*finish bed linen in the basement

*Empty DH's box of CDs and put them in a shelf

Maybe put the wooden kitchen set on Facebook Market and get it out of my basement (depending on the girl...it's her stuff)

*Go through the three craft boxes and keep or donate

That should keep me busy - oh and we have a 2:00 zentangle class tomorrow and grocery shopping today.

We turned our amber alerts off for the same reason......don't need the phone waking us up at night unless it is friends or family and we watch the early morning news so we see any amber alerts on there anyway. We do keep weather alerts and national alerts on for the sake of safety. The sound of a pet barfing does seem to get everyone on their feet fast...LOL

I was so busy at work today, I didn't have a chance to make an entry.

I picked up the girl and fed her. She had brocolli cheddar soup and a crescent ring with brocolli and canned chicken. She spent the night. She was able to get her room straightened up.

Busy day.

B: toast with a cookie butter/hazelnut spread

L: left over crescent ring

S: sweet and salty bar

D: I made a mushroom and onion roulade. This is good and quick.

DH has to work only 4 hours tomorrow and he will get the girl.

We have a zentangle class scheduled Saturday and the girl has orchestra on Sunday...along with three days of rain. I can feel it in my bones.

When I got home from work, I didn't want to do crap...I watched a movie - Out of Time

After I finally decided to cook - one thing about this WFPB thing, I sure mess up a lot of dishes and spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I made black bean balls. They turned out better than expected.

1 can Black Beans (Drained and Washed)
5 Garlic Cloves Minced
1 Onion Chopped (I used the other leek I had)
1tbs Worcestershire Sauce (use a vegan brand)
1tsp Sea Salt

1tps Black Pepper
1tsp Cayenne pepper
1tbs Paprika
1tsp Onion Powder
2tbs Dried Parsley -
didn't use

1 cup Shredded Carrots
1 Cup Flour - only added 1/2 cup
1 Cup Bread Crumbs - only used 1/2 cup
1/2 Plum Tomato - used eight cherry tomatos
*1/4 Cup of Cold Water- didn't use at all

Blend all ingredients (Except Flour) until mixture is smooth. Remove mixture from blender and place in a medium size bowl. Mix in sifted Flour. Form dough into balls. Deep fry or Pan fry until brown. Serve over Spaghetti with Sauce and enjoy - I used my food processor and the air fryer, I didn't use grease of any kind.

I added these to the angel hair pasta and spaghetti sauce - it was nice and tasty.

In bed by 11:15 - I didn't hear DH come home but the dogs let me know when he came to bed.

Debating on getting the girl today.

Work is crap

Oh, those sound really good! I wish I had a fryer so I could make them without using any oil. I suppose I could try it in the pan with just a little spray oil...

Back to the old routine. I get home and sit a few minutes and get the dogs calmed down.

I then go into the kitchen to make my bean stew and then, I'm freaking out over the instapot and decide to use it with adult supervisor - yeah, ok...I'm afraid of the instapot. I'll let DH mess with it. I sliced up my leek, carrots, celery and put that on to soften. I then added tomotoes and mushrooms the stock and beans and let that just cook about 2 hours.

I got hungry way before the stew was read so I had left over flatbread pizza - naan with the spinach, mushrooms and onions.

I did taste the soup, it was delicious.

I had things to do, however, I didn't get to them and just watched cooking competitions on TV. and I had a few too many mini lemon cakes - these are all gone now.

Went upstairs at 11:15, finally in bed about midnight.

I heard DH get home, dogs and I may have finally goten to sleep about 12:30.

Looking at the calendar and days off, have you ever noticed there is so much time between President's Day and Memorial Day I think someone should invent a new holiday to break that long three months up!

I love, love, love my instant pot. Don't be afraid. Just cook beans and rice without salt for first cook then salt and keep an eye of how full you make it... You only have half the capacity to fill because the other half is for steam.

Last night I went to bed at 9:45...I was thinking I would get eight hours of sleep. My body is wde awake at 4:00 - thinking hey...you've had enough sleep, it is time to get up and get started. I tried to go back to sleep, but between DH snoring and ODD in the way - I almost sat on him when I got back from the bathroom sleep did not come, I did lay in the dark and listen to DH snore, he definately needs to go to the sleep clinic and get evaluated for sleep apnea.

Here are the pictures of the carpet (i have yet learned to add photos from my phone) the before picture includes the very bad patch job we did a few years ago - we put the coffee table over this spot.

Here is the after carpet, it is a silver/gray color and so, so soft. I just love digging my toes into it.

Kinda busy at work today, which is a good thing, sure helps the day to go by faster.

B: cinnammon roll

S: sweet and salty bar

L: flat bread pizza with spinach, onions and mushrooms - very little cheese (maybe 1/4 cup if that)

D: I am going to make a northern bean stew. DH went and bought me a leek for this stew, so I will try and use my new instapot and get this made.

 Happy Sunday! Logging on from phone again...I don't like at all!

Up at 7:00 this morning and hung out with DH until 10:00 we went downstairs to the basement and go all the linens folded and put back in the shelves we have down there. I started laundry. Then DH and I went and stored all the Christmas decorations back into the attic. I didn't realize we had so much. We swept and got the garage back orderly. My favorite thing is using the leaf blower to sweep! So quick and thorough.

DH then headed out for shopping and I finished laundry.

B: toast

no lunch

D: almost sausage dogs will never have this again. Not a fan of any kind of pretend wannabe meat!
