Last night the girl was over - I made a brocolli crescent ring for dinner. She ate and left. DH picked her up early - so she went home early.

The step dad texted the girl and told her - no more leaving early on your dad's days - NO MORE - I AM IN CHARGE (we are keeping this text for court purposes). The reason she was over is because she said this same step-dad (who is IN CHARGE) made her miss her Spanish class yesterday because he wanted a bed broken down right this second and it couldn't wait until her class was over. This right here is unacceptable to me. School is the priority and this family fails to realize this. And this same family can't find time to take her to the orthodontist appointment that I am leaving work to go and do!  WTF!! They are so screwed up, I really hope this court custody change goes through.

Anyway, after she left, I decided to take the doggos out - and OMG lost in the woods anyone? We go to Indian Hollow and each time I wonder where this cutoff goes

 

 

So today, I decided to check it out! I walked and walked and I lost my way. I was worried that I couldn't find my way back and I didn't know how far out I was  - got a little panicky and then I started thinking of all the Datelines I watch - freaked myself out because it is starting to get darker earlier each day.

But I did see some neet things - I've only seen these weird mushroom things on TV

A weirder clump of old trees or branches

And a mud hole someone filled with branches - I finally realized this is a mountain bike trail and it does lead somewhere - maybe one day I will walk the whole thing - but I must have plenty of day light left.

So lesson learned - stay on the beaten path when walking alone.

Blood sugar this a.m. 149 - meh

Today is like who gives a F* - I just want to quit and give up ...but I won't.

D: baked porkchop with french fried onions and sourcream and brussel sprouts

Telework tomorrow and Friday and back in the office on Monday morning.

Walking alone scares me.....please be careful IP......This is not the same world that it was 10 years ago. Your blood sugar will bounce around a bit...but you are a far cry from where you were just a few weeks ago.............as you continue to lose weight that will help too......stress can also raise sugars........You are doing the right thing for the girl....

Nice mountain bike trail! You just made me a little jealous LOL. Remember to take some safety precautions on those walks where you are on your own. It is OK to take along a whistle, some type of spray, etc. just in case.

Also, i agree that some places aren't best to be walked alone. I have the same thoughts and that's why I do not do some other woodsy walks myself either. and i do fear getting lost.

I quit working at 4:00 o'clock yesterday - my normal time. Then I took the dogs out for our walk, we left earlier because it gets dark way too early now.

The only noteworthly picture from yesterday is this weird clump of mushrooms the dogs just wouldn't leave alone - they were fascinated by it..

 

When we got back I cooked a chicken pot pie with the grilled chicken DH cooked before he went to work. This was ok, but since I didn't get to eat until almost 7  o'clock I feel this may increase my blood sugar, but who knows. I did get a little over 10K steps though.

This morning blood sugar was 138

B: blueberry pancake sausage dog, vanilla iced latte

L: piece of left over chicken pot pie

S: Balanced breaks

D: chicken, brocolli crescent ring

I have the girl tonight. She is in panic mode and doesn't want to be at her mom's whenever the letter from the lawyer is delivered. I feel bad for her.

innerpeace - Monday Sep 21, 2020

Saturday the girl's little friend was over and we made him go walking with us, we went to Indian Hollow (we've been before) for dinner we ordered food from a diner. I had a chicken, bacon, ranch wrap with about 10 french fries...yes I did count! A few pix from the walk with Tony Bologna (nickname we gave him) his name is Anthony. We did some yardwork and I logged over 14,000 steps - a PR for me!

Sunday I was up a littler bit earlier about 7:30 - blood sugar was 126 - very happy with this especially after the few french fries I ate.

We took both cars to the carwash and vacuumed them both and of course we went on our walks. We went to Sandy Ridge again...more wild flowers, foul and DH being silly with his buddah hanging out!

For dinner we had burgers...it was a nice weekend and I really enjoyed it.

Monday morning - working from home but I am unable to access any applications I need to work, so I will be going into the office tomorrow to do some things that need to be finished.

Blood sugar was 128 this morning...I will get this down!!

B: banana, toaste, vanilla iced latte (not the best breakfast for me)

L: TBD

D: grilled chicken in a pot pie (Maybe)

is it me or does your hubby look GREAT!? i think he's lost weight too? he looks happy and healthy which is best :)

also, girlie looks amazingly happy and her little friend is quite a cute looking good kid! (from the looks of him!)

 Good day, all, I slept until 9:00 a.m. this morning, I can't remember the last time I slept this late...and my b!tch blood sugar was 156..WTF! oh well, I am doing everything right and can just see me having to take all those horrid medicines in the future.

I did have a grilled chicken, cucumber, tomatoe salad with bowtie pasta, but it wasn't even a cup of pasta.

Last night the girl and I went to Ely Woods for a walk, it was OK, they are doing construction nearby and it wasn't as pleasant as it could be.

Look at this deer...I swear I was less than 6 feet away and I barely didn't see her

DH went with me this morning to Sandy Ridge, it is a wet land preserve - it was a bit chilly, but we walked almost 7000 steps.

No to get home and do some domestics....

I made a spinach, ham frittata for brunch and I haven't decided what's for dinner yet.

No football today either, which is a let down, but I thought my team played today.

The pics are beautiful and love seeing your teen...so cute! Wonderful place to walk you have there. The deer are so quiet....I miss them myself sometimes in the yard...She has that deer in the headlights look....still trying to figure out if you see her...LOL

If you can keep your glucose in the 100 to 150 range my guess is that the doc will give you metformin.....I don't think he would start insulin yet....and that may help you to lower it more.

Wednesday I was also in the office and DH got the girl. I picked up Chipotle and we ate that. I only ate half of my usual steak burrito bowl. The girl went on th walk with me, just around the block.

Thursday I spent the day in the new office - unpacking and trying to organize the storage room and supplies. I got really hot so I walked back to my desk...and my underware rolled down my butt! This hasn't happened to me in a long, long time. 

DH put on a crockpot roast with potatoes and carrots. I ate some of this and then took the doggos out. We went to Indian Hollow - still so green, but it is getting cooler and the trees are just now starting to turn. Here are some pictures of last night's walk.

That is the east branch of the Black River...flowing to Lake Erie.

Blood sugar was 148 yesterday.

Blood sugar was 136 this morning....sure missing the bread and pasta.

Friday - working from home....

B: one sausage/pancake dog, vanilla iced coffee

L: TBD

D: grilled chicken something (broccoli or brussel sprouts)

 

Might have time to walk this a.m. and for sure after 4:00

We have the girl this weekend, though no big plans.

Very pretty! You are fortunate to have lively walking places nearby. I would have to drive to a woodsy place to walk, and during the week, by the time I get home, forget it.

Gorgeous pics! Where did you say you live? I live near Lake Erie too, in NWPA. There is a tiny creek on my 7 acres that flows to the lake. Unfortunately, it’s down a hill & I can’t see it from my windows.

I just have to say...that the midwest is so beautiful.....love the pics......YAY for falling down underwear....!!! Reminded me the time I took my 88 year old Mom to the grocery store...and she was walking different...when we got in the car...she blurted out,...MY UNDERWEAR FELL DOWN!!! Luckily she was wearing slacks!! You are doing TERRIFIC with your blood sugar......it's sad about the carbs....but your blood can't tell a candy bar from a plate of pasta/bread/rice........but one you get it totally under control...you will be able to have small portions....but for now...you are best avoiding it...GOOD WORK IP !!!

Back in the office today...holy crap...I hate unpacking and organizing my own house, much less an office of stuff I don't give a crap about...ok bad attitude ends here.

Yesterday DH and I went to see a lawyer and paid him $2200 bucks to get a change of custody in the works...all because the POS said her lawyer told her she can move if she wants if it's to "better herself"! The lawyer we spoke to said, he probably didn't say those exact words because relocation out of state needs court approval and/or approval agreement from DH...not just 'hey, we're moving'! Anyway...after all the circumstances and with the best interests of the girl in mind, he thinks we have a good chance, especially since the girl wants it too...oh man I hope this isn't a waste of $2200 bucks!

I took the doggos out again last night and it was a bad, bad walk...just because there were so many other dogs and they other dogs were CRAY - ZY; barking and jumping all over causing my dogs to pull and yank more than usual. One man even yelled at us to hurry and pass because his dog is nervous with other dogs behind her...whatever!!

We were at a different park - it was a golf course

Good news is...10,522 steps...this is the most I have ever done!

Blood sugar this a.m. 138

Dinner last night same grilled chicken salad with alvocado, tomatoes and cucumbers

This morning

B: toast, banana - and I caved with an iced coffee - had to leave earlier because of driving to new office further away - not too bad, but I can see the sun becoming a big, big problem on a clear day.

L: grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese

S: balanced breaks

D: probably chipotle - The girl is over and I won't have time to cook, wondering even how I'm going to squeeze a walk in.

A good thing about the office....I can walk through a neighborhool while on a break...I will bring a pair of sneakers in and start this when I'm here!

 So DH is back to work (2nd shift) I have the evenings all by myself. Sometimes can be a good things...sometimes not.

I made my grilled salad chicken with cucumbers, tomatos and avacodo. It was quite tasty.

I took the doggos out for a walk - all I could think of was a Seinfeld episode..."Serenity NOW" which I certainly felt last night. It was weird because it was all hazy (my work said it was smoke from the fires) but it covered the sun and was quite cool - 68 degrees. (the sun is in the first picture - the white circle in the middle). 

We were quite alone alone and was so peaceful. I had 9200 steps...very good for me.

Watched a baking show.

Up this morning...working from home...however boss told me to come to the office in the morning....to unpack crap. I am going to hate this.

Blood sugar this a.m. 141

B: one piece of whole grain toast, 1 Tbsp peanut butter, banana

L: turkey pastrami, cheese

D: chicken, cucumber, tomato, avocado salad again - it is just so delicious and watermelon

 I thought I had posted Friday...I guess not.

Running back and forth from the office...come in and do this...don't come in...oh wait come back, it's a big freaking hassle.

DH and I walked a lot over the weekend...well he did yard work and I walked the dogs on Saturday...twice! and my dogs are stupid.

Sunday I cleaned and vacuumed and washed clothes and bed clothes.

Scale today 316.1...blood sugar this morning 144.

Started drinking metamucil - fiber.

eating well...cut out the sweets for now and consistently getting 7750 steps. I may up this to 10000 next month if my back holds up...or the stupid dogs don't jerk me around too much.

B: raisin bran

L: 1/2 piece of grilled chicken, banana

D: 1/2 piece of grilled chicken with the tomatos, cucumber, avocado salad.

I think I will be happy to go to work on Wednesday in my new office!

Nice weight loss....You are doing great! Blood sugar is doing terrific.....!! CONGRATS Just a note terriffc with the chicken, tomatoes and avocados and cucumbers....bananas are high sugar...not sure when you are going to the dr for blood work...but you are doing great...how are you feeling...any after affects of the covid?

I have a weird stinging/burning sensation in my nose between my eyes (like I had water up my nose) that is persistent and doesn't go away. I also smell dust all the time. I just have nose issues after COVID-19...and I don't think all my taste and smell are entirely back. It can be uncomfortable at times.

My blood work isn't until 11/7 so I'll keep working on it - it was 141 today.

 stupid crap in my life! 

Work is stupid...people at work are stupid

The girl's mother is an idiot and wants to move to Kentucky. They want to buy an old school and turn it into a skating rink! Seriously...coronavirus anyone? This is the stupidest thing I've heard in awhile. Not sure if the mother is really this dumb, it's her husband or just the general population of Kentucky. The girl is upset and does not want to go. She was saying she wanted to live over here for the last four months and now all of a sudden she wants to live with her grandmother. I cannot make sense of it. I'm just concerned about her schooling, because aparently education is not a big issue to them. God bless her future...so so mad about this!

DH went back to work yesterday so I took the dogs on a walk...it was difficult to wrangle them but I did and we will probably go again tonight....maybe depends on the girl.

I get tired of living and all the stuipid sh1t I would rather live naked in a rain forest somewhere and do my own thing!

Blood sugar this a.m. 177 - can't figure this out - only had 1/2 cup of rice last night for dinner and minimal carbs and didn't eat anything after 5:00 p.m.

B: raisin bran

L: left over chicken and 1/2 cup of rice

D: TBD maybe meatloaf, maybe chipotle, maybe salisbury steak

I've read somewhere that something about rice isn't very good for regulating blood sugar levels? Try combining it with something that will help balance the easy your body metabolizes it. For example, a pat of butter, scrambled eggs, etc.

Oh I hear you on the stupid part. I don't want to live naked in the rainforest, but that doesn't mean I don't agree with you.

I think Kentucky is last or 2nd to last in education. Which explains why they have the senator that they do. And he's fine nothing for them. But stupid is as stupid does.

If I had to guess..I suspect that the girls mom will have trouble getting a loan..not to mention a business license.....and turn the school house into anything at all....it all takes money and skills....and good credit and energy......probably a pipe dream that will pass as quickly as it came....if they can't even get an iphone for themselves and have to use the girls...it isn't likely to happen. It's too bad that they aren't interested in her education.....do they have any idea how much insurance on a skating rink would cost??????? How many times can they get sued before they find out? Hopefully the girl reaches 18 before they actually attempt to make their dream come true.....I doubt it will happen.

Oops...wanted to say.....try to concentrate on raw and cooked plain fresh veggies like cucumber, lettuce, green beans, radishes, tomatoes...and plain meats, poultry and fish....it should drop some more....rice isn't a good thing...neither are potatoes, corn, peas, cereal...pretty much any grains...rye is the best. You have already brought t down really good.....really you need to get below 120...preferably below 100....if you get blood work now it will be a A1C test...that goes back 3 months....D gets his blood work done tomorrow...and he has been creeping up even though they doubled his metformin about a month ago.......I really fix him a lot of green beans and plain meats/fish and chicken along with fresh salads when it is stubborn.......but there does come a point where it won't budge unless you go keto or carnivore...he refuses to do those though......Hope you can keep it going down...you have done well with that so far.

the school year has begun - maybe discuss with girlie how it's started and just to get thru it and THEN decide what she wants to do - maybe live with grandma during college! :)

Lots of walking Saturday & Sunday. Rain all day on Monday.

Blood sugar ranging from 160-180.

So it isn't as low as I wanted so I did make a doctor's appointment for lab and well woman...both in November.

So I have that much more time to get it under control. This morning it was 169.

Work is CRAY ZY! trying to get moved, I went 4 hours on Saturday to pack my stuff up. OMG who knew you could accumulate so much stuff in a little over 4 years.

Was in the office today to finish packing and do credit cards. I will probably be back tomorrow for half a day to help a co-worker with his.

Next week we move, I can't imagine the chaos and am in no way looking forward to this.

DH fought with the Cleveland Clinic and Department of Health and he is cleared to go back to work tomorrow! He is kinda excited...me I will miss our walks. I will have to go by myself.

I guess it's time for morning Zumba again!

Hate moving! And yes the things you pick up can be surprising. Great you’re getting in walking, a much better workout than me on my recumbent bike.

Nice DH is cleared! Zumba sounds cool. Never tried it though. I should.
