DH and I made dinner. it was really tasty and this was the first time we actually cooked tofu ourselves. i was really impressed and will probably eat this dish again one day. And I like curry more than I thought I would.

Went to work with a headache yesterday, it didn't get better, I really hate this time of the year.

B: 1/4 non fat greek yogurt, 1/3 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup granola - 267 calories

L: pita with applie and cheddar cheese (melted), mixed greens (OMG so, so good. I broiled the cheese over the applies and it didn't even taste like apples anymore - more squash like) 351 calories

S: 1/2 apple - 47 calories

D: another concoction in the kitchen - stuffed peppers with morrocan style spices.

We have the girl tonight, so no plans.

And the official NCAA football season starts off tomorrow!! So SO Excited. I love college football.

Was talking to my son in Georgia, he had an accident and totaled his car, actually his car didn't even look that bad, but the insurance totaled it out, so he is in search of a new car.  I hope he makes good decisions.

Have a great night! IP

Progress as of today: 15.6 lbs lost so far, only 96 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 08/30/2017:
Your meal looks so good. I only made tofu once and it does pick up flavors from the other things.nice meal. Hope your son didn't get hurt.

So I went to bed hungry. When you eat the right stuff and measure what you eat...yeah well, you don't eat as much! I was so sleepy last night I fell asleep in the recliner. I did get up and take a 30 minute nap, felt much better.

DH came home early because he had to to and take an aptitude test for a job he's hoping to get. I hope so. I hate his third shift crap!

B: toast, 1/4 alvacado, boiled egg, clementine - 266 calories

S: dried apricots and walnuts - 134 calories

L: left over ravioli, vegetable soup, cheddar bread, clementine - 395 calories

D: squash and tofu curry with kale and left over rice - 424 calories

S: cucumber -  I didn't eat this yet - maybe I won't - my system does not like cucumber too well. TOTAL CALORIES: 1219

Not sure if DH got the tofu so this could be changed up a bit.

Had the opportunity to go see John Mayer, however, I didn't want to go alone and no one else cared to see him.

Not too much going on tongiht, hopefully be able to relax!

Have a good night! IP

lately i also go to bed without eating even if hungry bc, like you, when i eat enough throughout the day, i don't care to eat before bed as i'm more tired than hungry so the tired feeling has been winning.

bearcountrygg on 08/29/2017:
Can't sleep while you're eating...that's always a good plan.

So Saturday we had plan to go to the fair....however, those were quickly extinguished due to the YA. DH got home from work and I was letting him take a nap before we went to the fair. However, the YA kept calling and calling and I would decline the call because I didn't want to wake DH up. Anyway, after the YA called DH's phone about six times, he finally called me. I was relunctant to answer the phone, but I did.

He then proceeds to tell me that his car was towed because he was not parked in the vistor's parking lot at his GF's apartments. He said he was $45 short, could we please loan him the money. I said yes, but you know we don't keep money at the house, we will have to go to an ATM. I said I would get around and bring him the $45 dollars. He then called back and said his ride and other $60 dollars fell through. The ride and other $60 was coming from his mother. That's when I ask how much the total fine was, he said $125. He had $20, his mother was going to give him $60 and then we were going to get the last $45. Anyway, he then says, we need to drive to his GMa's house to get the money from his mother. I said, never mind, we will just pay it and you go get the money and bring it back when you can. So after I woke DH up we got the YA and GF and drove them to the tow yard and then had to wait another 30 minutes for the tow truck man to come back to the lot. So now it was almost 2:30 and DH and I decided to just go and eat Mexican food, instead of going to the fair.

We stopped at the store and picked up a few things. My entire body hurt. I wanted to leave as soon as I got into the store. We went home.

Sunday after my depressing weigh in for the TeleMove call - I somehow managed to gain 5 pounds in one day....since my entire body was hurting, I started thinking I was depressed again and/or that time of the month (if I had it). It just doesn't make any sense!!

DH went shopping with a list for a meal plan we found. He said he would absolutely stick to this meal plan.

Day #! Meal plan

B: toast, boiled egg, 1/4 avocado, 1 clementine - 263 calories (this was suprisingly good and filling for breakfast)

S: 1/3 cup blueberries, 1/4 greek non fat yogurt - 61 calories

L: 2 cups Ravioli and vegetable soup, 1 tomoto chedder cheese toast - 341 calories (I made this soup with zucchini, squash, onions, tomatoes, chicken stock and frozen cheese ravioli)

S: cucumber and 3tbs hummus - 92 calories

D: 4 oz salmon, 1 cup brussel sprouts w/walnuts and vinegrett, 1/2 cup brown rice. - 451 calories

TOTAL Calories - 1212

This took a little planning and a little extra time, but I prepared all the meals (except dinner) and packed them in my lunch bag.

I also had to go back and reread an old journal that was on DD many years ago - search for Rader and read this journal. He was a means of many motiviation and nutrian tips and he lost over 150 pounds. I hope that guy is still alive and kicking.

Hopefully I will be back in the right mind set - at least for awhile.

Have a great evening! IP

Hiiii IP!

I am sure your body was hurting from the stress. So sorry YA ruined your planned…how frustrating ! How old is YA again? When I was his age I problem had even less money than him and got everything off my parents! I was prob still in college and I didn’t work during college…so all money I had was totally from my parents lol…so bad. I honestly wish idid work in HS…because I think I’d have learned the value of work a little better, faster, and easier than waiting till around 21 for first on the books type of job…

The Mexican food is very salty probably and you probably retaining lots of water. It’s possibly to gain 3-4 lbs in water bloat and if it’s the case you will lose it in a week so do not worry. Maybe it was hormones indeed / bloating.

Per the meal plan – to make breakfast more filling you can also have a coffee with regular milk (no creamers bc tooooo high calories!) Snack is good….if you want it more filling use 2% yogurt for almost the same calories and it’ll fill you up more and for longer bc there’s a little bit of fat…LUNCH SOUNDS AMAZINGLY GREAT…snack sounds wonderful especially if eating a nice large cucumber!..DINNER sounds amazingly good and you can always add even more veggies if it’s not filling enough! I like the whole meal plan but you know me…I am a critic and like to critique it anyways!

innerpeace on 08/29/2017:
YA is 19 and he knows everything!! except where to park. LOL

bearcountrygg on 08/28/2017:
Meal plan sounds really good to me.....and if DH does it too it may be just what you need. I'm not sure how old YA is but it sounds like he created his own parking problem....Do you watch Dr Phil?????? We raised 2 boys and without telling them to they both worked from the ages of 14 and 16...the older started working at an egg farm and a dairy farm at 16 and the younger one worked at a sheep farm at 14....my husband delivered papers and layed carpet.....insisting that he earn his own money will make him respect money more, right now he is doing a real good job of not following rules and then begging for help...and that won't get him far in life....I think maybe he is your step son???? If he is that does make it hard for you...but a parents job is to raise kids to be successful in the world and handouts don't teach him anything..I hope that he figures out that earning his own keep is really kind of neat and that he starts doing that himself. I know he is really stressin you and his dad.

innerpeace on 08/29/2017:
He dropped out of school and worked with his step-dad's plumbing business. They got into an argument and he quit because they wouldn't pay him. Now he lives with his grand ma and tries to work under the table, because he can't find a job without an education. And he is so smart, he won't go back to school or get his GED. I'm being sarcastic. He is a big brat! We sold him my car so he could get to work. He has no sense of responsibility and like I said he knows it all so he won't take advise. He's my step-son.

bearcountrygg on 08/29/2017:
Step kids are a different situation..I feel for you...that's a tough situation ton be in.

A little stress at working, trying to spend our money before they snatch it away. It is best to let them snatch as little as possible, but this time, they may get more than usual.

Girl started back to school yesterday. We will see how long she goes to this school. Since they moved they are in a different school district and her mother is supposed to take her to school and pick her up everyday. The step-father said he had a business to run and wasn't going to waste his time taking and picking up the girl from school. This is a terrible sore spot for me, so I'm just hoping she can continue to go to school everyday.

YA hasn't been over in awhile since DH told him to find a job, which he hasn't yet.

DH and I talked about the YMCA membership last night, again we are not using it. He can only swim for now and they have swim lessons on the evening and times he can go, he feels he should be able to use the pool whenever he wants. We will see what happens.

I finally did the HemeOccult (poop-card) the doctor sent home with two weeks ago.

Tried to get up early for the run; however, I overslept again. And I ask myself how much do I want something or am I just super lazy. The only thing that should be tired is my brain.

Dinner last night was pork loin, green beans and rice. I had a yogurt for dessert.

B: toast, vanilla iced latte

L: peanut butter sandwhich, cheezits, yogurt

S: balanced breaks

D: Not sure will be surprised when I get home.

Have a great night.

It's a little pricey but you can get them used on ebay... the fitbit charge 2 that I have is pretty accurately telling me how much I am sleeping and guiding me to more efficient sleep so I am feeling a lot better. You are awake for various minutes while you are sleeping and if you are sleeping inefficiently you might only be getting 6 hours or less during a 7 or 8 hour period. When the Fitbit tells me I have had 7 hours for multiple days , i have the will to exercise.

It's about $85 per month for the family.

Do you think it's worth it? I will say...that back in the day when we had a pool, we did spend about $100 a month on chemicals.

Weight: 306.0

Ok the last couple of days. Yesterday i was up and doing the c25K program again. I did complete it, but I am still doing it. I think it helps me just stay active.

Been doing the TeleMove calls and everything is working out well. It is frustrating weighing everyday though.

Last night we took Steve to the water park for the Soggy Doggy pool party, he had an absolute blast. It was fun watching him swim and play with the other dogs. There is another one Sunday, will think about taking him there too.

DH made his version of beef stronganoff with left over steak he cooked on Monday, it was pretty good.

Wednesday - had issues getting to sleep last night and then I was awakened about 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. And then I oversleep and rush around in the morning, trying to get ready.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

L: left over beef stroganoff (about 1 cup), yogurt, cheezits

S: balanced breaks

D: I have no clue. I asked DH to get lots of vegetables

That is all about the diet stuff, but I am going to use this a my diary so feel free to stop here.

Yesterday on the way to the Soggy Doggy Pool party we went through the little town of Oberlin, Ohio. This is a little college town. I was shocked to see a rainbow flag flying high with the US flag and state of Ohio flag. Why is this not offensive? Why can this town fly this flag and not have people complaining like they complain about the rebel flag? I am by no means racist and I seriously don't care who other people sleep with - but I think I do have issues about this flag flying when the rebel flag has been removed as well as Confederate monuments.

Maybe they should have the position that if a flag represents a single party and/or group that flag shouldn't be flown, just for the reason it could be offensive to someone.

Ok that is all! Have a great night!

I'm with you about the flags...then add statues...apparently too many people in this country are trying to rewrite history...guess the truth doesn't matter anymore. Some poor Asian guy named Robert Lee can't announce a sports game because of his name..Things have gotten totally out of hand. Makes me worry for my 3 and 4 year old great grandsons. I love to see what others are eating...and sometimes having to report here makes me decide NOT to eat something..either because I don't want to confess it..or because I just don't want to turn the computer back on...>LOL

Weight: 306.0

Friday I drove to Pittsburgh with four others in my office to do a site visit and to go to a retirement party. It was a tiring dirve and all the socializing surely is exhausting.

DH picked up the girl for the weekend. We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. I had bacon and eggs and French toast.. We were supposed to go bowling with my work people, but I was so tired, I didn't make it out.

Was up for the TeleMove call - topic was Slow down you eat too fast! Yes, sometimes I do.

Saturday  took the TeleMove call - topic was topic was spread the word - that I am trying to loose weight and inlist the help of those around you! I understand this concept, but I do not want the people at work in any of my business!

We went to a few garage sales. i have a vision of a clock wall, but I can't seem to find clocks anywhere. I think I have found five so far in the last two years. We then went on a scavenger hunt and walked almost 2.5 miles looking for the pictures.

It was hot and we were hungry so we turned in our sheet with 22 of the 25 clues found. We then went to a Russian food festival and I had beef stronganoff and green beans. It also had perogis but I gave mine to the girl. I don't care for perogies at all!

Sunday TeleMove topic was - changing my eating habits - this one I find hard very hard. Stayed around the house and did the laundry, not much else. DH cooked pook loin into jaegarschnitzel - it was pretty good, with mash potatoes and salad.

Monday TeleMove call - Dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. I wasn't hungry but I wanted that sweet ice cream last night. I wasn't depressed, sad, happy or angry. I wanted the ice cream. I need my will power to kick in hear and select a fruit or yogurt or something. Or hey, I know, stop buying it and bringing it in the house!!

down 2.1 pounds since using the TeleMove program - with that being said I have fluncuated by as many pounds as well weighing everyday so who knows.Tomorrow starts week #2.

Did not get into the eclipse hype, there will be another in 7 years, I may get excited for that one, it is supposed to be closer to me any way.

Have a great night! IP

I eat too fast too...guess I'm afraid someone will see me eating...LOL You sure had a busy few days....I love my ice cream too....basically I think just about everyone does...keep it up....you got this!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/22/2017:
Hi there IP! I am soooo in the same boat as you about a trip with many people in car and work related stuff and the socializing…I get very drained as well. I NEED alone time, usually, in order to recharge and feel my best. But, maybe with the right man and right relationship, it could work where I wouldn’t need as much time alone…like what I have now, he understands me basically and it works out quite well. I just need someone a HAIR younger.

Better to rest than bowl. When you need rest, take it. Yup!!!! I am going to have to also curb my socializing if I want to keep my training. It’s a little of a challenge these two weeks….i have such good plans…..and want to keep my workouts. Soon enough I’ll be traveling so no workouts will be done! I don’t want to work out when I’m traveling – that is TOO MUCH! the travels will TOTALLY BE ENOUGH!

I also have a tendency to eat fast….but not crazy fast. One thing, if you are too hungry, you will want to eat faster. So definitely try to eat your snacks in a way that you are dampening your appetite at meals so that you aren’t ravenous – this is what I try….but yeah I always have an appetite to eat! Haha.

Like you, I lose weight on my own, without other people’s suggestions. I think you are also very good without the input of work – you do know your stuff. You taught yourself to jog. Just use the telemove which sounds really cool like you enjoy it. If work people bother you, tell them that you like to do it your way and individually on your own. That you have a plan already and not looking to change it.

Cool food at the festival – I bet the meat tasted great with the beans. We had an Asian festival with tons of grain foods – and later in the weekend I ate a dumpling. ONE WAS ENOUGH. Nice flavor but just a waste of calories / grains…when you have them in abundance. Luckily I had brought veggies too with the food my friend and I had at the park, so I filled myself up mostly on veggies along with his goat cheese on French bread and the dumpling! Haha. I had brought my chicken burger, salad, and marinated eggplant…veggies helped me to feel full!

Don’t buy things that you don’t have the willpower to watch yourself with. I do NOT buy any “real ice cream.” Only the lower cal brands like Halo Top and Enlightened – so if I eat a little extra, the calorie damage is very low compared to eating extra of the real deal. Have options on hand – large plums are one of my go-to’s. I like large plums because I can take one out of the fridge, wash it, and eat it – no extra work. CONVENIENT. Make sure you have “healthy convenience food” at home …I enjoy stevia in flavored seltzers as convenience and veggie chip brands where I can have like almost 40 veggie straws per serving and for only the calories in 2 pieces of bread….have the options for sweet tasting healthy convenience and salty convenience so that you do not reach or need to buy the higher cal convenience foods. You can make your own ice cream if you really want to – out of bananas and stuff like that…I know you are a good cook. There’s tons of recipes. You can make your own popsicles if you want….but I don’t – I’m a lazy girl with cooking…but I still find a way to have lower cal options that are both sweet and salty…so that I do not reach for the HIGH CAL sweet and salty foods – I keep relatively few options (but enough options) in my apt…small bags of butter microwave popcorn (single serving), lighter chips where there’s slightly less oil (many brands of veggie chips), other chips, fruit that is just wash and eat, flavored seltzer that I add stevia also into, small packages of cookies / bars that are 150 cal or lower, the low cal ice cream brands of halo top and enlightened which comes in pints and bars….to name a few of my go-to items. Bananas when I cannot sleep also. These are all low cal snacks. I can eat a small cookie / bar and follow it up with seltzer with stevia to give myself the “oral fixation” of drinking something after I give myself real sugar….i have learned a lot in how to satiate without indulging fully.

My weight sometimes fluctuates a lot (2-3 pounds) and sometimes not. Lately it doesn’t, but do not worry – it’s normal. It’s good to weigh everyday, but, once a week you’ll see the true variation and true pound loss better.

I overslept this morning and had to rush around and get showered. With getting DH out the door for work, I am not getting into bed until 11:30 and last night I couldn't even get to sleep. I know I looked at the clock at 12:44 am and I was still awake.

DH cooked grilled chicken, a big salad and green beans for dinner. He cut the piece of chicken in half and it was 4 ounces. Did great at dinner, but then I made brownies and ate three of them. I suck!

TeleMove phone call - today's topic - It's never to late! still waiting on the materials to look at when referenced, hopefully they will be at my house soon.

Tonight is the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert, may have to leave early to get DH to work on time...we will see.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/18/2017:
Lately my mornings are screwed up. I may have to set the alarm clock even earlier but I realize that’s not going to be helpful bc I tend to lay in bed anyways so why lay in bed longer which I really do think would happen if I were to wake up earlier? Anyways, I did set my clock a hair earlier so that I can play with my hammy in the mornings. And now that I’m treating it for an eye infection, I actually need to get the ointment in his eye in the morning. Today he peed while in his ball, so I had to make sure to wipe the floor and clean his ball this AM…lol, these things keep having me lose track of the time. All these little things. But I really do love to pick up and hold and play with by Hammy BG. He’s adorable!

Sorry you didn’t sleep well, but, you can’t always sleep well. DH needs to get ready on his own! He’s such a bad boy to keep you awake! Bad Boy!

Dinner sounds super healthy! Is DH eating better now? One brownie or TWO would have been better than three…so you know what!? …next time say “I can eat 2, just not 3.” And then try to get by on 1…it will be easier if you stuff yourself on veggies first, then one brownie will be just for the taste. This is what I do…stuff myself on the fiber and veg and AFTER EAT THE JUNK! So I can have it, but a small portion!

I like the topic of the day for the phone call. It’s DEF NEVER TOO LATE! Hey look, I’m changing my career, for the 4th and last time, in January. Instead of career, I should say “I’m changing my job” for the 4th and last time. I feel good but nervous of course bc I do not want to have problems or bullying or in general any negative things to go on as they did here at a new job especially if it’s NYPD! With all the politics there, I’d be doomed! LOL…I plan to be honest and logical as well as improved a bit with my street smarts. Hey I’ll be 35 and that’s a plus for life experience!

I tried to get up to get my run/jog in but I just hit the snooze button and rolled over back to sleep. I did get up and get showered to be sitting at the table for my 7:00 am call. My phone rang right on time. I was given the lesson plan about portion control and variety (now that sounds ironic) and it listed the pamplets and prochures I was to reference. However, I do not have my materials yet, so I just listened and entered my weight. And we will see what happens tomorrow.

So tomorrow the plans are for DH to get the girl and go to her open house so she can find her classes. After they are coming home and then we are going to go out to eat and then drive to the train station to get downtown to the concert. Once finished DH will go to work and I will take the girl home and go home myself. It will be a long day for me.

Firday, we are going bowling with some work people.

Saturday - wow - lots going on: rummage sale, scavenger hunt, black berry picking, hometown festival and a Russian festival for dinner. We will be busy for most of the day. We will get home about 5:00 for DH to go to bed for work.

Sunday - hiking day with my dog!

Breakfast: toast, iced coffie

Lunch: 1/2 ham and cheese sandwich, cheezits, yogurt

Snack: balanced breaks

DInner: I have no clue

Yesterday I got home and the first thing I see is DH's dirty clothes piled up on the kitchen floor. I was expecting dinner but he was still asleep. He has no routine and fell asleep on the couch, he didn't take a shower so didn't go upstairs to the bed. What a weirdo!

He started cooking dinner, however, the meat he thawed smelled rank and we did not use it, so we had Subway.

DH went back to sleep and I sat and watched base ball after I walked my dog! I hate this new life...I miss my husband!

Anyway, have a great evening! Go Tribe!

Hiiii IP!

This calling thing sounds really cool, except I’d totally schedule mine at NIGHT lol. But you are a morning person, so it makes sense as you even get up to exercise in AM, which I don’t.

Girlie is now in 8th grade this year? Good luck to her! Which concert will this one be that you are all attending? It sounds exciting…how I love concerts! I cannot wait to finally attend an orchestra concert in a couple weeks. I’ve been wanting to all summer, but it’s either been rainy on what was supposed to outdoor ones or I just craved more sleep on what were weeknight concerts which don’t work all that well when getting up early the next morning! LOL…I’m just a brat, shall we say!

At least you can be home yourself after that long day…Try to go into it with energy…rest a bit today. Take your alone time today!

I can’t wait to hear about this Russian festival! Will there be dancing or sausages?

Try to see if you can help DH get into a routine, is my suggestion. Seems the night shift is def not his preference but he’ll get days again…if he keeps trying for it.

Was on the phone with my Telemove Coach, Craig. After much  painstaking, and thought provoking discussion, I managed to come up with my two goals. Now, it's not like I said I wanted to lose X number of pounds in X number of time or to lose X number of pounds at all, because using that whole thought process evidently and obviously don't work for me. I had to pull from books, posts and journals I read, classes I've attended and then dig down deep for what I know is my problem.

I read on someone's journal - it could even be someone here on DD - that used BBB - Ban the Bread Basket!

My number one goal was cut back on my bread intake. Like this morning, I had two pieces of toast and another piece with my 1/2 sandwich for lunch. I will work on this change.

My number two goal was continue with my couch to 5 K program, three times a week. I also mentioned I would go to and actually use my YMCA membership, instead of just donating this fee to them every month.

I will get a phone call every morning at 7:00 a.m. I will have to enter my weight and then listen to the education for the day. The phone call is about 10 minutes long. I was skeptical about entering weight everyday, but hey, I can do this.

So the current enrollment will last for six months and then I can extend for another six months if needed. I will talk to my coach, Craig, at least once a week. My first phone call will be in the morning - Wednesday! So there is no more thinking about it, I just need to do this once and for all!

Work is crappy stressful this week and will probably be next week too, and just yuck!

Can't wait to get my new book and other tools.

Have a great day!

Progress as of today: 15.6 lbs lost so far, only 96 lbs to go!

Hiiii Inner!!

I’ve never heard of a Telemove coach…I had never heard of it labeled “BBB”….makes for easy tip to remembering…a good play on words. I think it’s called an alliteration, the “BBB.”

Instead of bread, there are other higher fiber options. Many wraps that I eat are very low cal but same size as higher cal wraps. Tumaro’s (which I needed a break from lol bc I had it too much) has many good flavors and options. There are many other good brands, too!

With your couch to 5k, when you are ready, I hope you enter a 5k…they have Turkey Trots. You know, I may enter a 5k by me, actually!, in November near my parents. It would be their town’s 5k, the morning of Thanksgiving. YOU JUST GAVE ME A RENEWED DESIRE AND GOAL to run the 3mi (5K).

I LOVE THIS PROGRAM you are writing about! It sounds EXTREMELY helpful like a perfect way to initiate life changes. It reminds me of my first year at weight training….the help of a coach was necessary in order to get me truly understanding that I had to do to stay in line….and there was also a free dietician (I did this from approx. 22/23 till 24 years old) also helped me see how weight fluctuates and was really interesting to see the changes in my weight by meeting with her….it was the first time I was weighing myself that often.

Anyways, I know that this program you are doing is going to give you a lot of “takeaway knowledge and thoughts” and I know it can be a life-changer. Just as my lifechanging, one of, was signing up to a gym that only offered personal training in weights, 3x per week, 30 min a session…only $25 per session and since I was living at home it was VERY affordable and the best thing I ever got involved with!

I struggle with the bread thing too. Big hugs. I'm roasting a whole bag of sweet potatoes in the sow cooker as soon as I get them home from the market and that is actually really helping.

And the Telemove coach thing sounds really cool. I look forward to hearing more about it.
