DH went to SAMs yesterday and got some stuff and he got a hair cut. I told him I would finish the shopping after work.

I tried. I wish I could explain what happens to me in the grocery store, I'm not sure if it's anxiety or just being overwhelmed. I feel like my brain is going a million miles an hour and I forget why I go in there. I have a list and I try shopping just off of the list, but I see things and think in my head, oh I could do this with that or I can make this with that and I get frustrated. And then if people are around me I feel rushed like I need to move out of their way or I'm in their way so I rush and It's just the most uncomfortable feeling in the world.

I was at the refrigerator section with the glass doors and I needed a carton of eggs. There were just about four cartons of eggs and a few cartons that were left open because of broken eggs, and then right behind that cart was a brand new cart full of eggs. I watched as the man in front of me opened every remaining carton and made sure they were NO broken eggs in the dozen. He finally took the first one with no broken eggs and went on his way. I then saw a worker who asked another worker to finish the refrigerator section for him, I asked if he would change the eggs first. He switched out the carts and rolled the old cart away with the broken eggs and then brought back the three cartons that had no broken eggs and put them in the new cart. I just didn't want my eggs picked through I guess. I don't know.

These are just two of the reasons DH goes and shops and I love him all the more for it, and the fact, he enjoys this.

So needless to say once I got home I was totally exhausted and couldn't think of what I wanted for dinner, so I made bacon and eggs. Then I made BLTs for lunch today for DH and I and then cleaned up the kitchen.

B: fruity pebbles, milk

L: left over pizza from Friday

D: bacon and eggs, toast

Tuesday is the longest day of the week for me for some reason. I looked at the clock at it was on 12:30, I thought it should surely be almost 2:30...and now it is only 1:30, so I think time stops on Tuesdays.

B: toast and DH gave me a pretzel poptart (don't waste your money)

L: BLT, grapes

S: sweet and salty granola bar

D: TBD...I just don't know - toasted ravioli maybe. I have to get the girl and I don't have a clue what to feed her....she can eat pierogies. And I will make a salad.

Have a great 'never ending' Tuesday. IP

Welp...weekend total failure! We were celebrating!

Friday I didn't leave the house, DH said that's what he wanted to do...nothing. He leaves at 2:30 to go get the girl. They bring home Papadias - flatbread pizza sandwhiches. I had a BBQ chicken, it was pretty tasty and then I had a Reeses cup.

Saturday we were up early and go to the eye doctor - I didnt' think this would las so long be we were there from 10:15 to about 12:30 - both appointments and then picking out glasses and getting these ordered. The girl got contact lenses and glasses....

DH said he wanted to go to Melt Bar and Grill for his birthday, it is a sandwhich place - I had a winner, winner, chicken dinner on a sandwich with gravy, mashed potatoes and spinach with the chicken on bread. I ate half. We did have some nachos as an appetizer...and then DH wanted ice cream seriously though...

When we got home...netflix...never again! I knew with my personality and how I can sit in front of the TV for hours on end, I knew this would happen. I have four more episodes to watch and then I am logging out and throwing the password away (it is my son's account)

Sunday - woke up with a headache and laundry and Netflix.

Monday - after I got out of the shower I received a phone call at 6:05 this morninig from the girl...she dropped her contact lense and couldn't find it...so there's that! There is the time in your life when you know what you've done wrong and you've know what you've done right...this was wrong, so wrong! It is only the trial pair so I can get another one, but this is not the point. I will get one more and see what happens...but then NO.

DH and I have decided the last week in March beginning of April (the girls' spring break) we are driving to OK to see my mom. I'm actually looking forward to going.

I will get better, things will get better, work will get better, all of this...

Have a great Monday! IP

I got a bad headache over the weekend too...so scary as i never get them!

everything sounds nice, like your road trip :)

Yeah..contacts and kids.....if you find the rubber bands to the braces all over the house...the contacts won't be far behind.

Got the girl last night, she was whiney because of her teeth, braces and bands. I made soup and salad.

Didn't sleep very well. Loud squeeling noise wakes me up. This has happened before, I have searched and I can't find it. It is a loud metallic constant ear splitting squeal, it has lasts a few seconds to a few minutes. It is annoying. I thought it might be a belt on the furnace or something, but I have heard it and the furnance wasn't even running. I hear it loudest upstairs in the hallway and in the girl's bathroom. It is weird.

Work is crap!

Headache!

Ice and snow!

This morning I went through the Chick Fil A drive through and got a bacon and egg biscuit. I also picked up a four back of chicken and biscuit bites for lunch.

I have no idea what I am even hungry for for dinner.

I took tomorrow off for DH's birthday. He said he wanted to do a few things, we will see how motivated he is. We have the girl and they have eye doctor appointments Saturday.

Have a great night! IP

I got home and cooked the General Tso cauliflower, it turned out very good and i will probably eat this again. The sauce in the bottle thickens up when it gets hot, this I didn't know, and this made it even better.

I talked to the girl who went to the orthodontist and showed me he put elastics on and it was hard for her to open or mouth and talk. She will probably be miserable tonight and over the weekend.

I took off work for DH's birthday, probably won't do much, but he asked if I would stay home. I don't have a problem with that...at all.

Saturday both DH and the girl have the eye doctor so this should be fun.

D: General Tso cauliflower and Sam's club fried rice

Watched some of the SOTU, cleaned the kitchen and went to bed, slept good until the dogs and DH woke me up about 1:30.

B: toast

S: grapes

L: left over cauliflower and rice

D: soup and salad

Have a great day! IP

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/05/2020:
i watched some of the SOTU address too...but then it was like 10pm and i decided i needed some sleep!

The sun came up again this morning, so there's that!

Work on the other hand is wearing me down, to my last little ounce of patience. If I didn't need my paycheck so much, my life would surely be different.

I do remember going to the store this past weekend, but it was like everything I wanted to make last night, I didn't have a necessary item in my house.

I thought about making General Tso cauliflower, however, I couldn't find the General Tso packet - DH swore we had some. This morning he showed me a bottle of sauce, I was like I was looking for a packet not a bottle. Then I thought about making sweet and sour cauliflower but we didn't have pineapple so I made bean burritos.

Slept really good when I finally went to bed about 11:30.

B: cereal (cocoa pebbles) I don't recommend eating this after brushing your teeth - it did not taste good AT ALL

L: left over bean burrito, grapes

D: TBD - probably the cauliflower General Tso with fried rice

have a great day! IP

Now i'm curious to know how you would spend your day if you didn't work, say if you were retired?

innerpeace on 02/05/2020:
I have these stories in my head, I would like to get on paper one day.

bearcountrygg on 02/04/2020:
I suspect we are all disgusted with winter...too much indoor time...dark in the evening, light later in the morning. Since retiring...I waste a lot of time....and we now wonder how we ever got everything done when we were working.....it did fill our days...and we always felt rushed and tired and like we never had time for the things we wanted to do........but...we both still talk about work a lot...and that was a lot of years ago......it's kind of like raising kids...while you are in the midst of it...it's exhausting...and when they grow up you miss those years. Retirement is nice, but it can also be too quiet and too lonely.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 02/04/2020:
lately i do not have some spices i want in my spice cabinet...so that's what i'm loading up on! including parsley!

If there are such things as stress migraines, I give them to myself. I left work in a snit Friday and poor DH got the brunt of it.

He spent all day putting up shelves for me in the basement...why is it for me? Shouldn't it be for us, for the house, it is his crap too! Oh well, the shelves look great and because of said migraine, I didn't get them filled, but we really don't have that much stuff down there anyway...it's everyone elses stuff (my son, the YA and the girl) my son left boxes of games and miltary uniforms and the YA has a dresser and TV that he couldn't fit in his current living situation...and the girl has toys and toys from when she was younger.

Saturday DH and I went to our paint a slate - it was cute, kinda fun. DH painted a red barn and I painted a butterfly.

After the painting we went on a short hike - it was cold and we didn't have our hats and gloves and DH's knee was hurting because of the dampness. We were down by the Vermillion river and the cliffs had water coming out that had frozen and it looked pretty neat, you can see it in this picture of the two of us.

We walked about a mile and headed to the grocery store. There was so, so much sweetness there, I wanted to buy it all, but DH wouldn't let me, so we jsut got the healthy stuff and I left mad. LOL However, I did find this delicious gem...for only 70 calories that really satisfied my sweet tooth.

Thank you. We do a lot of activities through our library system. This one was through our Metroparks - they have lots of crafty and nature hikes/walks all year. Check yours out!

Maria7 on 02/05/2020:
Thanks for the info. I will check out our library but we live in a pretty small town, so may not be much available.

Picked up the girl and picked up DH some chicken.

The girl wanted Arby's so I stop there for us.

I was  way, way over my calories.

D: turkey swiss sandwhich, curly fries and the best salted caramel cookie ever.

This would have been fine.

But after the girl left I was still hungry so I ate a thigh from DH's chicken and two biscuits - this is what put me over on the calories.

Work was crazy, busy today. We are entering the go time for our office move and there is lots for me to get purchased and purchased for the actual move and for the stuff needed for the new office. And then I have to get receipts and approvals for three others also spending, I thought I was confused earlier, but the guy was confused and he was confusing me. I just told him to leave, I would figure it out.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte - (this is the last one....) I will miss you my iced vanilla latte...

L: went out - roast beef on swiss, sweet chili chips

D: tasted cheese ravioli

Tomorrow I am back on the whole food plant based train...I must admit I felt a lot better doing it and it wasn't so bad...and it is more healthy, I think I just didn't do it, because of this wall I have in my brain.

DH and I have an art class - we are going to "Paint a Slate" and I am looking forward to it, we are also at the reservation where we like to hike so, depending on the weather, we will get a hike in as well.

DH put up the shelves in my basement so maybe I'll get some more organizing done.

Have a great weekend...IP

Issue at work is bigger than me. It's not just at my office, but 27 other offices in my area (maybe other areas as well)...so someone else will have to get involved for this all to be fixed it adds up to almost $96M descrepancy - they are saying I have a piece of equipment worth $3M +, however it was a combination of pieces and said pieces that make up the one have been recycled or scrapped. It is parent/child relationship thing, but all the children are gone, so it's time to get rid of the parent....Everyone is in the same boat and it will take an act of Congress (literally) to get the amouns taken off our property and accountability. It is a gross represenation of the worth of the equipment. Anyway....work sucked today.

Had weird dreams of being on a cruise that just happened to capsize after an earthquake...oh my I really don't need to listen to the news anymore.

I have to get the girl tonight. I have no idea about dinner.

B: toast, vanilla iced latte

L: bacon, avocado, spinach sandwhich, grapes

S: carrot cake breakfast cookies

D: TBD - DH wanted chicken - I haven't decided yet.

Have a great day! IP

So busy at work today, I haven't had a day like this is a long while. I was almost overwhelmed but decided to finish the task I was on before starting on others even if they were more important..they all got finished. And then I even found errors in work from 2011 and 2014 that will have to be fixed - I will work on that tomorrow (I didn't work there then - so no blame on me).

lately this is my work approach also...finish what i'm doing then look at other emails / tasks! :)

what are the carrot cake breakfast cookies? Dinner sounds so good as does all the meals!

innerpeace on 01/30/2020:
1 cup quick-cooking oats* 1 cup white whole wheat flour or regular whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1 1/2 cups peeled grated carrots (about 1/2 pound) 1 cup roughly chopped raw pecans or walnuts 1/4 cup golden raisins 1/2 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup melted coconut oil INSTRUCTIONS Preheat the oven to 375F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and ginger. Whisk to blend. Add the carrots, pecans, and raisins and stir to combine. In a medium bowl, combine the maple syrup and coconut oil. Whisk until blended. Pour the liquid mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined. The dough might be rather wet, but don’t worry. Drop 1/4-cup scoops of dough (an ice cream scoop with a wire scraper is perfect for this) onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving several inches of space around each one. Use the palm of your hand to gently flatten each cookie to about 3/4-inch thick. Bake until the cookies are golden and firm around the edges, 15 to 17 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet on a cooling rack for 10 minutes, then carefully transfer the cookies to the rack to cool completely (otherwise, the bottoms can brown too much). Leftover breakfast cookies will keep, covered, at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, and in the freezer for up to 3 months.

November 1st I quit playing candy crush...i am surviving without it.

I was playing WWF with my mother, I had it in my head, if she was playing WWF she was OK. I called her yesterday and she told me I was wearing her out, that she didn't want to play everyday and in fact she was having my sister play some...so I will limit WWF.

Last night I deleted the Facebook app off my phone...because I feel this is what is making me depressed. Everyone I know has been on a cruise, been to Disney World, got a promotion or some other fantastic thing and I find myself comparing my life to others. I just have time to work and pay bills and little left over for extravagant vacations and I refuse to use my credit card. So instead of looking at all of the bells and whistles of everyone else's life,  I just deleted it off...I will miss the WFPB and Toy Fox Terrier groups I was in...the pictures and the recipes...but I am certain I will survive without it.

Last night I went home and made calzone with spinach, mushrooms, onions and turkey pepporoni with minimal cheese. I also made carrot cake breakfast cookiies. These were delicious and I ended  up eating four of these for dinner. Not so healthy...and then I baked the left over pizza dough with garlic and better and had bread sticks.....not good.

This morning DH went to his six month checkup - his A1C was higher than expected. His PCP told him the WFPB diet was good except it still had too many sugar/carbs and he suggested lean meats. I don't know how I feel about this. Maybe we should just take the pasta and potatoes out and eat beans and vegetables...his cholesterol was better.

B: carrot cake cookies, iced vanilla latte

L: calzone, grapes

S: apple, banana

D: TBD

I have a staff meeting at work and then I have the girl....

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/28/2020:
don't worry...i also have friends going on these crazy trips and seem to just be enjoying life at every second. please believe that not everyone lives this way and that there's more to life than a vacation away from average typical work days. there are some that are lucky, but i do not believe that most people in the USA are like those who post fun things constantly. i totally know how you feel when you are on FB...i too wonder how some people can afford just so much!

a calzone is a fun change of pace to make for dinner :)

awww to your mom, glad she is OK.

bearcountrygg on 01/28/2020:
I quit the facebook games too...in fact I'm cutting back on the internet a lot......I just spend too much time not doing the things that need to be done. You meant well playing the game with your Mom....I know I was calling my parents daily and talking for an hour or 2...and I look back now and think it was probably too much for them...but i was wanting to reassure myself that they were okay....I get it.

Donkey on 01/28/2020:
I'm just about to stop playing the game I'm currently playing, Block Crusher? Something like that... I mostly use these types of games for stress relief. And I only play one game at a time.
