Weight: 319.4

Went to the eye doctor, I hate having my eyes dilated. I didn't get back to normal until well after 9:00 pm. I am alone in the house until 4:30 until about 10:30 - six hours!! I should be able to get lots done, I just can't get motivated.

Last night i baked pork chops and ate one of them. The other three sat on the stove until DH came home, well after 11:00. I haven't been going to bed until I know he is safely home.

Tonight was the girl, but DH changed it to tomorrow.

The girl told me she wanted to come back to our house after the surgery.

When DH talked to the exwife (POS) she told him the girl wanted to go back to her house. So I'm wondering if that girl just tells us what we both want to hear, frankly, I'll take her @ss home because I don't want to see her mope around in pain and whine and cry. This is the crap that pisses me off about the entire step-parenting situation. Freakin' just tell me what you want to do, go home, fine I'll take you home. If not then she'll just go upstairs and do what she always does.

I told her she could come back to our house and if she didn't feel like going to school on  Friday than she could just stay there - because she will be over this weekend.

She said she wanted to go to school (we'll see how long that lasts after the surgery) I told her I would take her home after. Anyway...whatever, if DH did't have to work, I wouldn't be involved in this whole process.

D: pork chop - ice cream (there is no more ice cream)

I think I got to sleep a little after midnight.

B: blueberry pancakes, iced coffee

L: left over pork chop, peanut butter breakfast bar

S: banana, balanced breaks

D: DH said he made salisbury steak, will find out when I get home.

Work is crap this week!

Have a great night! IP

Progress as of today: 2.2 lbs lost so far, only 109.4 lbs to go!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Getting your eyes messed with is stressful. It is ok to rest. (I say as I cough like the zombie apocalypse and vacuum).

horn_of_plenty on 10/17/2018:
Um, I'm quite sure girlie would MUCH rather be at your place.

lol, work is crap makes sense!

horn_of_plenty on 10/17/2018:
i agree with Happy...it's sometimes difficult after dentist / dr / eye appt to come home and work more.

Donkey on 10/18/2018:
Having a spouse who works 2nd shift can be lonely, especially if you are on a first shift schedule with sleeping, meals, working. Been there, done that - although I did have 2 little ones to keep me busy. I did a lot of "married single-mother" parenting. It's really rough.

Weight: 319.4

DH and I went on a covered bridge tour, it was really nice. I loved not having to drive. The group stopped at a covered bridge pizza parlor, was very nice and pretty good for the price. The weather was damp and chilly but we still had lots of fun.

Sunday the young adult came over with his stinky GF, hadn't seen them in a while, I'm happy they are happy. They dropped the girl off because DH took her to get her top braces on this morning. They are cute. She goes Thursday to get four of her teeth pulled. I'll see how she feels about them then.

For some reason I haven't been stressing over my weight so much. However, I keep thinking I'm going to have an episode of some sort - so I need to stay vigilent. I do believe this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life.

DH's exwife called the child support office, this should be interesting. She apparently thinks DH is making more money so she wants more. We provide more for that girl than she has. DH says, great if she wants to play that game, then she can pay half of the medical/dental bills we have which just this last six months alone will be over $2K. He pays more than his fair share...and I'm even paying for the health insurance, so yeah...not sure where this is going to lead but to a big freakin' headache.

Yes, we did refinance our house, and we are getting additional cabinets in our kitchen, I'm thinking when the young adult and girl tell their mother this, she may think it's an = oh they have lots of money and I'm going to get me some of it!  No, she doesn't work, so her motives are skeptical..

Eye exam tomorrow.

B: Pepperidge Farm French Toast Twirl toast, iced coffee

L: Left over chicken pot pie

S: balanced breaks

D: TBD depends on what DH took out of the freezer

Have a great night. Everyone's persistence is very motivating.

Progress as of today: 2.2 lbs lost so far, only 109.4 lbs to go!

your photos are AMAZING from the tour...what a wonderful trip! my type of day and activity!

the reason the weight thing is so hard is simple...you've lived much of your life with a habit way of eating...and now you have to change a VERY ingrained habit. similar to smoking / drinking but harder because you cannot STOP eating as that's not healthy at all either!

it's so annoying when exes go after money alone and especially when their actual ability and/or desire to be a caretaker is non existent!

at work, i hear stories from my divorced coworkers about their ex husbands and lack of responsibility they recieve :( however, i know your hubby is the proactive one in this case!

happy-1 on 10/15/2018:
I read descriptions of these horrible past relationships people have and are still tied to because they have kids... and I think how did that chick get married and have kids and I'm still working on getting a freaking Valentine's Day card?

Man is DH lucky to have you... You work hard, contribute to his kid's well-being, make sure that you get to do the things you want to do and never feel limited by others, and you always have his back. Look a all the things you are great at! Sounds like you are ready to expand that to health and are taking charge and owning it like a boss!

I like your portion control today!

BearCountryGG on 10/16/2018:
That ex wife sounds like a real peach!! You would think she would appreciate all you do for her......Your step daughter will be grown in a few years.,..then you won't have to worry about child support anymore....

Weight: 319.4

I logged in but can't say anything constructive today.

Girl's mouth is tender and can only eat soft food. I made her mashed potatos, meatloaf and green beans. She also texted me today and told me it isn't any better so tonight she is getting super soft steamed broccoli, egg noodles and chicken with alfredo sauce.

Some girl was fired in my office today, it's been a long time coming and I didn't think they would ever do it, but they did. I was scrambling today to get the paperwork completed. It was hard...because I've never it done before and wasn't quite sure the proper procedure...phone calls...people...ugh!

I then had a conference call and errors I fixed yesterday, twice was for naught. I was told today to change it back to the way I had it when I got the errors. Oh..OKAY, whatever. I will never understand and I will continue to do as I'm told.

DH put a chuck roast in the crock pot with potatoes - I think I'm tired of beef.

L: left over pot roast

S: balanced breaks, power bar

D: chicken, tomato avocado salad with honey lime dressing.

Steve still isn't jumping and last night when I turned over my elbow hit him on his front leg, he yelped and went downstairs. If he isn't better over the weekend he will be seeing the vet.

Cabinets are on order - i did searches for the company and all and all I am satisfied they will do a good job, but there is always that one person.

Mowed the grass.

DH and I are scheduled to go on a covered bridge tour  Saturday - just in time for the cool, autumn weather. Have a great weekend!

That is quite a day...but you got through it. Tylenol will probably help the sore mouth.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/14/2018:
so sorry about girlie and the braces pain...it goes away completely after 1-2 weeks. tell her it will totally get better :) and it's worth it for a beautiful smile!

sorry to hear girl was fired!...if you don't do the paperwork often that's a good thing assuming people don't get fired too often!

your meals sound delish!!!! very cool tastes and love anything that is slow cooked / crock pot style. i'm sure your whole house smelled so nice! i was given a crockpot end of the summer but still haven't gotten down to using it...

i hope Steve feels better soon <3

happy-1 on 10/15/2018:
Aw... poor Steve... He'd probably feel a lot better if you gave him some pot roast... ;-)

Weight: 319.4

I did try to comment before this but couldn't. Now I see there was a site issue for a few days.

It's a busy time of year for me so posting at work has been harder than before, but I think it may be ok for a few weeks. I have also been trying my hand at creative writing for the month. One person will post a picture of something and you write a short story about it. It is fun reading everyone's take on the same picture. It only lasts through the month of October...it is called Nightmare Fuel.

This weekend was ok, got a little emotional running around with DH and the girl. I was going to park and before I turned into the slot I noticed the car next to me had the car door open. I made a comment to DH to wait for the man to close his door before he opned his. He said ok.

OMG but then when I get out of the car, this man started yelling at me that I was a crazy driver and I had almost hit him. I'm like, sir your car door was completly open and you had plenty of room. I told him I was sorry and I didn't do it intentionally (that is almost run him over) but he didn't have to be so rude about it.

He's like, how can you apologize and then tell me I'm rude. And it just escalated from there. Again, I told him I didn't do it on purpose and he just keeps on. I said, that is just like someone from Ohio and he says...what? what? if you look at my licence plate you will see I'm from Michigan and then I said, well that makes it even worse then - apparently there's this big rivalry between Ohio and Michigan - I don't know about (I will read up on it). Anyway, we get into the store and DH is telling me not to worry about it...but that's all i do. I was so upset I just cried and cried. I AM NEVER intentionally rude to anyone...EVER! I do not do confrontation well, nor any kind of drama. THIS, this is why I hate leaving my house.

We had the cabinet man come over and make final measurements for the cabinets. We picked out the new countertops and put a down payment on it. And then some man was outside talking to my next door neighbor and DH goes over there and talks to them and the man my neigbhor was talking to said he's heard bad things about this company we are using. This freaks me out so I get online and I am searching the better business bureau for complaints. I only found one in seven years, so I'm hoping we don't get scammed. Again, I am losing all faith in humanity.

I took the girl to her first othrodontist appointment to get seperators in, next week is the top brackets, oral surgery and then the top wire. Not sure what the schedule is for the bottom braces. She is excited....my wallet not so much.

I had my performance review at work and I got a step increase - which is a few extra $$$ in my pocket. I guess I will continue to come to work.

Eating hasn't been too bad. I have been eating dinner by myself because DH doesn't get home until well after 9:00 pm.

And last but not least, Steve has a sprained shoulder or foot because he isn't jumping up onto the furniture and he is having a heck of a time with the stairs. I guess he will be going to the vet if he doesn't improve. Love this guy!

Have a great rest of the day! IP

The guy in the parking lot sounds like an... well, I need to stop cussing because I cussed in front of an ex-nun the other day.

BearCountryGG on 10/09/2018:
Parking lot guy acted like a jerk......I'm in Michigan and I don't know of any rivalry. Cabinet guy......don't pay him off until he finishes the job...there are some sheisters out there who want too much money upfront and then never come back....hold back enough that he needs to return and finish the installation to your specifications.

Congrats on the raise and new job classification!!!!

Poor Steve....give him a snuggle for me.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/10/2018:
Where did you find Nightmare Fuel? Is it a library activity?? It sounds like a fun and creative mind challenge!!

Regarding the man that reacted: people react because of feelings inside THEMSELVES and because of their own EXPERIENCES and FEELINGS.

You can rest assured that something was going on with this man and that of course you reacted then to his reaction, but really, if you are involved in another situation like this realize that he reacted this way not because of you only...it was something inside him causing him to blame you...next time i advise you to feel less like you are the bad guy...! he was blaming you, but he should be blamed for being so harsh ! I know someone like this, who never thinks anything is their fault. i wish it hadn't bothered you as much as it did !!

in terms of the cabinets, the person who spoke badly of them may have had a bad personal experience and just wants to tell everyone and anyone who may order from them....doesn't mean overall it's a bad company...

i'm so glad she's happy about the braces - she has really nice teeth and a big smile so overall it's going to look awesome when it's done!

i hope your doggie feels better and heals asap! :)

Saturday I went with DH and talked to a guy about putting in additional kitchen cabinets and new countertops - big $$$ - I just wasn't expecting it to be so high. I guess my brain is still in the 90's. DH and I decided on eating Chinese so he left to get it and I mowed the front yard. Aftetwards I was nauseous and felt like throwing up and along came a migraine. DH got home with the food and just the smell of it make me sick to my stomach. I took Excedrin Migraine and went to bed. I woke up about 3 hours later and felt much better; hungry too so I did eat some Chinese food.

Sunday - laundry and cleaning day. I'm amazed at how dusty/dirty parts of the house can get.

Frittata for breakfast and left over Chinese food for late lunch/dinner.

Wet to bed later than I wanted and didn't sleep very good. I woke up with an irriable pain in my leg, a pain similar to a charlie horse, just not as painful. Then I thought i was having a blood clot so I got up and went downstairs for awhile. I took some Aleve and the pain subsided, it was just weird.

Not a lot happening from this weekend.

This time of year at work - blows!! Cross your T's dot your I's - lots of people watching/checking/auditing. Code changes for the new FY begs for errors.

Yup...the odd pains...gt ready...there will be more as the years go by....I get the weirdest pains.....index finger...shooting pain...and then gone......bugs crawling anywhere....nope...no bugs....D had a painful leg for years...and then one day as we were watching a movies...his eyes got big...and he turned to me and said..."I just had a feeling like water was running down that leg...and then right out the toes"....he never had that constant pain again....and it's been years....all kinds of weird pains happen as the years go by....but...if you ever think it's a blood clot...that is something to get checked out.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/01/2018:
Were you dehydrated from not enough water and all the lawn mowing?

Based on also the leg pain, sounds you need to drink more water lady???

Good luck at work and keep your head up :) you always inspire us with your drive and work success!

BearCountryGG on 10/01/2018:

I picked up the girl and got her home. I made a quick dinner with the left over steak. We had a makeshift beef stronganoff with cream of mushroom soup, it turned out just ok. The girl did her homework and showered and then babbled until her mother picked her up. DH bought some ice cream made with splenda and we had a small potion for dessert. This was ok, however, I found it left a weird after taste in my mouth.

DH finally got home about 9:15. I think the rest of this week he goes in at noon; next week it will be 3:30.

Was up a little earlier this morning and completed the day #1 of my foundation workout.

DH made me breakfast - it was supposed to be a just crack an egg omlette, but he Cabreraized it and added more cheese and a second egg. I asked him why, he can't do that when I am trying to get track of calories. I just take out the potatoes, I don't add anything. I only ate half.

He kept my car to get an oil change and I drove his bigA truck to work, he brough so all is good.

L: left over beef stroganoff

S: babybell cheese, balanced breaks

D: teriaki chicken, brocolli - may have splenda ice cream again.

Good habit forming abounds!

Have a great night. IP

next time just be specific with DH on what you want to eat...a little potato and a little cheese is no problem, more egg whites will make it more filling...you can always add extra 1-2 egg whites for more volume!

i love lighter ice creams. as you know from my diaries!

yes you are creating good habits now!

Had a mental health day on Friday - took the day off...from everything that needed attention in my life.

Saturday we walked around the Apple festival and DH buys us...fried vegetables. They were pretty good. I ate a fried brocolli, fried onion and cauliflower. It was just ok, but the ranch dressing was delicious.

Later DH takes the girl to his work event/team building outing to a race track. He said they had fun, but cut it short because they got cold. I stayed home and made a hamburger casserole with tatertots with turkey and broccoli tots, this turned out pretty delicous. Almost died listening to my OU almost get defeated by Army.

Sunday did the usual cleaning, laundry, getting ready for the week. DH made us steak with salad and green beans.

I wasn't too mobile over the weekend and didn't complete my foundation workouts - I may start over with day#1...trying to build this good habit thing with 21 consecutive days.

Today DH is working a weird schedule noon - 8:30. Not sure what I think about this yet.

B: frittata, iced coffee, tea

L: left over turkey/brocolli casserole, small piece of brownie at work

S: balanced breaks

D: TBD - chicken paprikash - maybe

S: yogurt

I think I need another mental health day...I did schedule an eye exam appointment for 10/16/18 - its been a few years and I am having trouble seeing the computer screen.

Have a great day!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/25/2018:
festivals and events sound so much fun as does the apple festival! awesome you are taking in all that fall has to offer! for real! this year, i have so many obligations...that apple picking will not even happen! lol...just not the year for big drives out east or north ! (apples are two hours from me..)

perhaps don't try for 21 consecutive days if it feels too dreadful, instead consider it just one workout day you need to do...it doesn't need to be consecutive...maybe try for 2x in a week? you do not need such high expectations to start! :)

i also have issues with sitting at the computer all day...we all do in my office! good idea on mental health days...i have another one of those types of days October 1.

I was home before DH arrived with the girl. As I was waiting for them I just sat in my living room with this deep dark sadness around me. I don't know why. Sometimes life just seems so hard, no matter how hard I try and how much I give, it just never seems to work out the way I expect it should. When DH did get home he grilled porkchops and I steam some brocolli and cauliflower. It was very tasty.

I tried to help the girl with her homework, she was gripey and whiney and today everything sucked to her, I hate when she gets this attitude...though I understand it...she's a teenager, but with the mood I was in, I just had to get away. I excused myself and went and loaded the dishwasher and started lunch for today.

Today one of the people at work is annoying the crap out of me...the word scenario....How do you pronounce it?

Scen - ARE-io or

Scen- AIR-io?

She was pronouncing it NOT the way I do and OMG, it is like nails on a chalkboard. Thankfully she only said it four times, so far today. She was talking about all the scenAREios the hurricane could have taken...vs the track it actually did...UGH!! I guess they are both correct depending on where you grew up. But it will always be scenAIRio to me.

B: PBfit protein shake, banana, iced coffee

S: protein bar

L: grilled pork chop, romaine lettuce, in a garlic spinach wrap

D: grilled chiken and green beans maybe - I need more vegetables in the house, may go shopping tonight.

S: balanced breaks, apple

So I am hoping hte days get better

We went to bed at 9:00 pm, I woke up about three times, thinking I was oversleeping. I will try to stay up until 10:00 pm. I had dreams of being in my Army offices with the civilian people I work with today. It was weird.

Foundation Day #3 completed.

Sorry, I've been in Chicago for almost all my life and pronounce it scen-ARE-io, so it's probably good we don't work together, LOL.

The word that irritates me - as far as pronunciation - is "interesting". Hearing "inneresting" or "intresting" just drives me nuts. It's "in-ter-esting".

graindart on 09/20/2018:
For me the word is 'supposedly'. I keep hearing people pronounce it 'supposABly'. That and hearing people interpose the words Cavalry and Calvary irritates me.

Sce-NER-rio is how we southerners pronouce it...smile...like the NER rhymes with BEAR...smile... How do you pronounce tomato??? We pronouce it to-MAY-to...smile...How about pecan??? pee-can...not pee-kan...is how we pronouce that word, ha...

legcramps on 09/21/2018:
I'm in the scen-ARE-io gang :)

My aunt pronounces Ambulance as Ambliance and Aluminum as Alumium. I think it's sweet.

The one that bothers me the most is irregardless. Nope. Not a word, people.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/24/2018:
It is ScenAIRio to me too!

sounds like sometimes you deal with a little depression? just know that those feelings will pass...

Left work to get the girl out of school. The receptionist asks for the referral and xrays. DH says they were supposed to be sent over. He left work and went to the orthodonists office and the girl said they sent them to the wrong surgeon, so they resend them. Then the receptionist says my insurance is out of network and I will have to pay and get reimbursed. I'm like no, that's not OK. Why would they send me over here if you are out of network? She then relooked and confirms they take Dental dental and we go sit and sit and sit. DH finally shows up and he sits with us. Our appointment was at 4:00 and about 5:00 the receptionist tells us the doctor is still in surgery and could we reschedule. Uh...NO! The girl is cranky and hungry and wanted to go, so we rescheduled. That is 1 hour and 45 minutes of my life I will never get back. DH took the girl to her mother's house and I get home and cook the low carb dinner: meat balls and brocolli.

And then people at work think they are so precise and perfect and then everything they tell me to do is ...WRONG!! I get error notifications that reflect badly on me...not the ones who tell me to do the things wrong. This irriates to me and kindly makes me lose all respect for them and also makes me start second guessing my work. I was glad to leave early yesterday.

We went to bed early about 9:30. I tossed and turned and had the craziest dreams about reptiles and spiders and aliens...three different dreams.

B: just crack an egg omelette, iced coffee

S: protein barr

L: lettuce wraps with charcuterie meat and pickled cucumbers, a piece of harvartie cheese

S: balanced breaks

D: pork chop and green beans

We have the girl tonight.

Day 1 - have came to terms with the scale - it wasn't as bad as I thought - oh it was bad, but I can deal with this number...322.7.

DH is working first shift this week, learning something new. He will be on day shift for a little over a week and then he will go to second shift from 3 - 11:30. I will be alone during the evenings, but not at night, so this may help me sleep better.

DH and I went to Sam's club. His sister told him about PB Fit powered peanut butter and he wanted to try smoothies for breakfast and/or snacks. We also found some charcuterie meets (prosciutto, soppressata and  dry coppa) to make lettuce wraps.

This morning I was going to try a PB smoothie, however, I couldn't get the lid off the blender, when I finally did, there was mold all along the air tight edges, I will have to ensure this thing is dried out before storing it again, it was kind of disgusting so I will bleach it down when I get home and maybe try again tomorrow.

B: crack an egg - American scramble without the potatoes, iced coffee

L: lettuce wraps with 3 oz of the charcuterie meats with mustard - NOT A FAN - did not like the texture of one of the meats

S: protein bar

D: meatballs, brocolli

I am leaving work early to get the girl to go to her oral surgery consult. I guess this braces thing is a go! Not looking forward to it.

We close on the refinance Thursday.

Foundation Program Day 1 - complete.

Have a great night. IP

yes :) def take no chances with using a dirty blender! mine is stuck having a slight odor to it...they don't clean so well i have found!

excellent food choices...i do not eat the powder pb but it's a good source i believe of a little bit of protein without the fat. i just feel it won't satisfy me without the fat...and you know i have so many other food choices....so i do without it..but i do feel if it gives a good flavor to use it! and i do have something similar, cocoa powder...similar to give a flavor / light taste...so i guess i do something similar indeed!

good for her getting braces...they will hurt up to a week, then she'll be used to it...you may want to give her that piece of advice before she gets them on...and you may want to buy some pain killers to dull the pain slightly...it is very painful at first, but her smile will certainly be worth it!!!!!!!! and she will have a wonderful smile! i have seen it already!

Our oldest daughter got braces just over a year ago. I was way out of touch on what they were going to cost. In my mind I thought they'd be around $2000, when in reality they were closer to $6000.

Yikes! I am hoping I don't have to pay that much.
