Sunday hung out - washed clothes and waited until I was almost shaky with low blood sugar before I decided to eat anything...I was hoping one of the other two people would say something about what they wanted to eat...but no.

I used the spinach herb wraps and made Mexican pin wheels. They were tasty and pretty. Red and green peppers, onion with cream cheese, refried beans, spincach and wrapped up neatly and sliced with salsa and avocado on the side. It was not only pretty but delicious too.

The girl moped around all day, with a sore throat and TOM issues. She didn't even go to her concert. Well, I hope she feels better today.

B; toast, iced vanilla latte

L: soup, apple

D: TBD - I have a meal plan but can't remember what's on it.

Depression mode is high today...weepy and tears, i don't know why.

Hoping it will be better.

Have a great day! IP

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 118.9 lbs to go!

The wraps sound delish!

Donkey on 01/28/2020:
Could the depression be hormone related?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/28/2020:
WHAT!? she didn't play in her own concert!?!?!?!? don't they need her in the concert!?

also feel better to you :) maybe you need more sleep!

legcramps on 01/28/2020:
I'm sorry you're feeling rough today...I hope it passes quickly. Hugs.

So much for good habits.

Yesterday we left the house at 10:30. We went to the mall. Two weeks ago the girl asked me if she could get some new jeans. This girl has only worn black for the last two years, so when she started wearing blue jeans I was estatic and when she asked for more jeans, I told her yes we will go, so today is the day for more jeans. We bought the two pair she has been wearing about 6 months ago at Rue21. So we went back to Rue21 and couldn't find any her size. I asked the clerk and she told me...we don't have her size at this store (18). We only carry 0-16. I told her we bought some here six months ago and she told us, those were probably just returned here...I then said, so you are not 'fat friendly?" She didn't like my comment and started making excuses. I again asked, so you are no fat friendly. She said our bigger sizes are at Parma and Strongsville....not here! So, to answer my question..No, you are not fat friendly.

Anyway, the girl got her eyebrows threaded and we headed to Parma. She found her jeans, a hoodie and a t-shirt and we went on our way. Oh, and she also got straight A's...so it was kinda like a gift not that we just go and buy her crap all the time, but good grades do equal something, sometimes.

Since we are in Parma, we stopped at a German restaurant we ate at a few times. I had jagerschnitzel, because it was delicous, I wanted some meat and I have no will power to stay on my vegetarian/WFPB/vegan lifestyle I have implosed on myself all in the name of health...and I don't regret it.

After lunch we go shopping, and I'm glad we ate before shopping or else I would have bought things I really didn't need.

And then we go buy and get our loveseat and ottoman that we ordered three weeks ago.

After returning home we unload all the groceries and get the loveseat in the house, after DH drops his end on the driveway, scuffing the side of it. It looks nice and now I have a livingroom full of furntiure. The girl had a string are class, but I had cancelled that because she said she really didn't want to go. It is well after five and I just sit down and start watching Breaking Bad on netflix...I new netflix was a bad thing. I watched about 5 episodes and about 10:30 decide it's time to go to bed....and never once the entire day, did I even think abut writing in my journal....so there goes my 25 day starting a good habit project.

I woke up this morning and though...damn...I just didn't even think about my journal last night...I seriously suck.

SO first thing...journal.

B; toast

L/D: jagerschnitzel, mash potatoes and gravy, salad with ranch

S: blondie brownie

Though I ate meat, I still was under my calorie limit, so there is that.

Today, is laundry day...which will not get finished until night time. We will be gone most of the day for the girl's orchestra concert from 1-4, hopefully we won't be sitting and listening the entire three hours to orchestra music. I think that might be a bit much.

B: toast - iced vanilla latte

Your new habits went the same way mine did...POOF...gone....just like that.....I'm adjusting and starting them over apparently mine weren't working for me....Maybe yours wetren't either....but you can adjust them.

Donkey on 01/26/2020:
The folks who work retail have very little to do with ordering inventory. My daughter gets blamed by shoppers, too, for things in the store that are totally out of her control.

I've noticed the increase in overweight actors on TV and commercials within the past year or so. The British shows seem to be more ahead in this than we are here in the US. (See Shakespeare & Hathaway, for example. Well, Father Brown for that matter, too. Father, of course, is overweight, but so is his latest sidekick, Bunty. Quite a change from the svelt Lady Felicia.)

bearcountrygg on 01/26/2020:
I can echo what Donkey said......one of my sons also works retain and I have also in the past....and they really don't have any say in what stores carry......You can contact the corporate office though and complain to them. You have a valid argument....at least now you know where to find what you are looking for though.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/28/2020:
Straight A's huh!? that's def celebration worthy!!!

For the last two weeks I have been looking for tahini because I have a few recipes that called for it. I can never find it at the stores, or else I don't know where to look. I looked by the peanut butter the Asian and cultural sections and I can't find it anywhere.

Last night my cauliflower shwarma called for tahini, so I decided to make my own. Yeah, not a fan. My roasted sesame seeds tasted burnt or my blender got too hot blending and made them taste this way, after blending the sunflower seeds with olive oil and salt, I added a little lemon juice and plain greek yogurt, it was nice and creamy but I still tasted hidden notes of burnt. I wilted some kale with garlic and mixed my roasted cauliflower with the kale and a little tahini on my wheat pita bread and it tasted very good with the spices I used. I may make this again...with something different than tahini - is the tahini what makes is shwarma? I may never know, but I think even taziki sauce would have tasted better or I just don't know how to make tahini.

DH was home early and was able to eat warm food, but he was off to bed quite early as he had to be at work at 7:00.

Another traffic issue this morning...man weather or no weather, people here in CLE are having driving issues...I was late for work, but the operations people were listening to the radio and heard about all the traffic issues, I wasn't the only one late.

B: toast with hazelnut spread

L: left over shwarma

D: TBD, DH and the girl are taking care of dinner

This weekend is supposed to be snowy again, we have some errands to run.

Pants for the girl, pick up love seat, the girl has a craft class at the library and grocery shopping on  Saturday

Wind Symphony concert on Sunday we need to go to

Walmart carries tahini....actually I think it does have a bit of a burnt flavor naturally.

horn_of_plenty on 01/24/2020:
Near me, I think the tahini is by the peanut butter ?

Wow nice try making it yourself you are a trooper !!!!!this weekend I’ll be doing tons of cooking ... well more than usual and enough for most of the week :-)

You know it is going to be a bad day when you meet a truck on the highway and it turns around in front of you with flashing lights "FREEWAY CLOSED - PREPARE TO STOP" Oh yeah, days like these, I just love to sit in my car for an hour on the freeway, so I flossed my teeth. I called DH and told him to leave and go that back way if he wanted to make it to work on time.

I sat in traffic for 45 minutes, I was late for work and I was almost late for a seminar about a new safety program I needed to know the changes about. Crazy, crazy morning.

I do have a webinar this afternoon to learn about inventory, that i've done for the last five years, so this will probably be a snooze fest.

I picked up the girl last night and she was "allowed" to spend the night. She ate periogies, I ate the toasted raviolis. She talked about her Grease play and she is in the ensemble - not the entourage.

B: sprouted grain toast

S: tiny slice of lemon pound cake at the seminar.

L: nachos with black beans, roasted corn, tomatos, onion, avocado, a little cheese and sour cream (and I mean a little - very little) This after watching Scary Dairy - but I can't just throw it away, maybe I should.

D: Cauliflower shwarma a recipe I found

We have the girl this weekend and I think we are going to go buy jeans. Oh - we are supposed to get our new loveseat today...but DH is working daytime, so I guess we can do that on Saturday.

Have a great night IP

No the girl joined the high school drama club and she is acting/dancing/singing in the HS play, which is Grease. She is also in the Wind Symphony in the Northeast Ohio Youth Orchestra, she does that on the weekends, and she has a concert on Sunday 1/26. She keeps up pretty busy.

I made the spinach artichoke casserole with rice. NOTE TO SELF: Vanilla unsweetened almond milk is still sweet!! OK lesson learned. Needless to say, this didn't work well in my casserole. I could still taste a sweetness that I didn't like. DH had some when he got home and he said...don't make this again! LOL.

Tonight I have to get the girl, she has a dental appointment for a cleaning. She also is in the entourage for the Grease play at her school. I hope she likes it. She also found her earbuds, which I am happy about.

They are messing with DH's schedule at work and I think he is working 9 am - 7:30 pm. He should be home by 9:00 pm so I will get to see him a few more hours.

B: toast

L: left over spinach artichoke dip (i couldn't do this so I dumped it) - strawberry poptarts, clemetines

S: sweet and salty granola bar

D: probably toasted ravioli - haven't though this all the way through - dental appointment is messing with schedule.

That sounds like a better work schedule for hubby......and I think all of the alternative nut milks have a sweetness to them...water may be an alternative for some things in place of milk or vegetable broth.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/22/2020:
at least you tried an alternative recipe...i'm the queen of breaking the recipe and having things taste....so weird!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/22/2020:

Got on the scale today, not impressed. I guess I will have to make more changes...like adding exercise but I so don't want to feel the pain this will surely cause.

I snack too much and my portion size is too big - I will get some measuring cups out.

We had a YMCA within five miles from our house, however, it was closed about two years before I moved up here. The closest YMCA is about 15 miles away and takes maybe 25-30 minutes to get there in good traffic longer if traffic is bad. We were members but I stopped because we never used the Y and everytime we wanted to, there were events going on and we couldn't use the pool (it was never free swim when we were there). Now, we are a member of Anytime Fitness and there is no pool and just enough room for the equipment...and it smells. And my anxiety is not good in this place....I will make a goal of getting in this gym by 2/15/20..until then I will do workout vidoes in my home.

I have vision insurance, however, I was told when making an appointment, I would get better deals wihtout using it. WTF? How does this work? Aggravated!

The girl wanted contact lenses. I told her maybe. However, she seems to have lost her earpods she got for Christmas already...not even a month and $229 down the drain. DH says, if she can't keep up with her earpods, she isn't getting contact lenses. It's really not the same, but I see his point. I have Credit Union rewards and was able to get a free pair of earpods from somewhere, however, these were not good enough (they didn't fit in her ears right - WTFE!) and she didn't want them, so DH uses them. Anyway, she was smart enough to talk her way into the more expense Apple earbuds, I told her she would lose them. No I won't..She made it a point to show me every other day she still had them, however, I guess something happened from Sunday afternoon until this morning because they are gone now, she said she will look again in her mom's car....but Oh well! I won't be buying anymore of these.

About our conversation yesterday - DH mentioned Sunday that we should not go anywhere on vacation and just stay home. Save money so we can go to Hawaii next spring and see my son. The girl said she wanted to go to Corpus Christi, TX to see the Selena museum. - not caring about this AT ALL. I don't mind staying home.

Anyway the girl called yesterday and said she didn't want to go on vacation, she did want to go to the Justin Bieber concert in Cleveland in August. I can't find tickets under $300, so I'm going to have to say NO to this as well, I don't care to see him and DH would be forced to go...just NO.

B: mixed berry oatmeal bake

S: sweet and salty peanut bar

L: leftover lentil sloppy joe, 2 clementines

D: spinach, artichoke something - DH said no more beans for a few days.

Are lentils...beans - bean like but lentil!

Work is crap today...it might as well be Monday.

Have a great night. IP

I agree about the contacs....she would have to be super careful with things before I would agree to those...

Horn_of_plenty on 01/21/2020:
i also agree about the contacts...maybe wait a little more on it.

in the subways metro transportation in nyc, they say they find ear buds on the tracks!

i eat big portions too...i have gotten into a bad habit of it more than ever this year.

Donkey on 01/22/2020:
Agree, agree, agree!

I get a cheaper price on dental if I don't go through insurance, which is good because I no longer have dental insurance. Because my eyes are so bad, it's expensive no matter what. I'm waiting until I need reading glasses before I get a new pair of glasses. I'm almost there.

Donkey on 01/22/2020:
About the gym: find a place that you like, that is convenient for you. Otherwise, you'll find every excuse not to stick with it.

This is not YOU you, but just speaking generally. Been there, done that.

Apple ear pods? Holy moly!!!! The expensive hair products, the ear pods, no understanding of how credit cards work... She needs a financial makeover.

 Oh Sunday...you came now leave!

Up at 7:00 went back to sleep and got up at 8:30.
DH left to pick up the girl to go to orchestra practice but then when she gets here she doesn't want to go so she just hangs out, I am doing laundry and both DH and the girl are lying around and playing on their phones and watching TV. I asked the to unload the dishwasher and they raise a big stink! WTF! I spend all morning washing clothes and you can't freaking unload the stupid dishwasher. After yelling the two of them finally unloaded it while I was folding clothes.

she went back home about 6:00.

i cooked an eat loaf - made with cannolini and kidney beans, carrots, bell pepper, onions mushrooms and oats with lots of spices. It was actually pretty good with mashed potatoes, gravy and spinach. DH said he would even eat it again.

I probably would have slept later than I did but the puppy jumped on my head and woke me up. It snowed about 3-4 inches. It also rained most of the day. Cold wet snow!

DH and I got around about 10:30 and went grocery shopping. People in Ohio do not know how to say excuse me. This aggravates me. I was looking for something and had my cart there and this lady just tries to squeeze through. I see out of the corner of my eye and it's like she is trying to sneak by without being seen. I look up and move my cart - she could have gotten by sooner if she would have just said excuse me! Dumb ass! This happened two or three times the last time I just stood there waiting to see if they would say anything but they didn't. I just said to DH, 'baby please move the cart' he did they went by without even a thank you!

What really ticks me off is when the store employees block the aisles while they load the shelves and then look at me like I don't have any right being in the aisle......I so want to tell them that they wouldn't have a store to work in if there weren't customers...but I don't....I remember the good old days when stock boys (WHICH WERE TEENAGERS)carried a small case of product out and always moved to let shoppers by.....Now they are adults with flat beds parking them across the aisle to keep us out....people!

I picked up the girl. She is a major drama llama, seems like she is always in the middle of something. She had to put together a vision board for her future. She posted things on it about being a music producer, this girl and music I swear she loves it so much. She also had that she wanted to take classes at the local community college and maybe before a nurse. This is news to me, but I am happy she is at least thinking about what she wants to do. She also had pictures of her family that included DH and me and the two dogs. I sometimes wonder why she doesn't have her mother and her cats and other dogs included, but I don't want to cause more drama. She wanted pizza. We ate pizza.

I told DH he can eat what he wants tonight, but I am starting back on the WFPB thing tomorrow. I told him I am cooking what I want and if he doesn't eat it, he can eat on his own. The girl too. He was OK with it.

With that being said I found a few good websites with great recipes - www.acoupleofcooks.com and verywellfit.com that has lots of WFPB recipes. I have got my meal plans ready for next week and will go shopping tomorrow...among other things.

DH told me the YA called, we haven't seen him since Christmas, he only calls when he wants or needs something. He asked if DH wanted to buy his tools because he needed cash to get a car. In the back of my head I'm thinking...he should have kept the car we sold him three years ago and I bet it would still be on the road, but no, he went and traded it in for something that was a POS and then traded that POS in on another POS and look where he is now!!! DH took the tools (that he originally purchased) and loaned the YA $500 to add to his down payment, and trade in of the current POS that doesn't run. Anyway, I get aggravated at this YA, because he won't take direction of anykind and just does what he wants to do and then he gets NO WHERE in life. He works for his step-father's sewer cleaning business and has not set work schedule and no set pay...and the mother and stepfather won't encourage school or else they would lose their laborer. Anyway, the whole bunch aggravates me to NO end.

And then my son texted and said he got a speeding ticket for a total of $157. I told him, he probably speeds everyday he was just mad he got caught. He told me he would speed more carefully.

B: Ezekiel bread with nasty cookie butter (I won't have this again - I scraped it off my toast)

S: nature valley sweet and salty bar

L: left over pizza, clementines

D: TBD DH is getting dinner

Have a few plans this weekend, but snow is coming in, so plans may be changed. And then a Breaking Bad Marathon comes on Sunday and I alrady know I will be all up in that!
