Last night I went to bed at 9:45...I was thinking I would get eight hours of sleep. My body is wde awake at 4:00 - thinking hey...you've had enough sleep, it is time to get up and get started. I tried to go back to sleep, but between DH snoring and ODD in the way - I almost sat on him when I got back from the bathroom sleep did not come, I did lay in the dark and listen to DH snore, he definately needs to go to the sleep clinic and get evaluated for sleep apnea.

Here are the pictures of the carpet (i have yet learned to add photos from my phone) the before picture includes the very bad patch job we did a few years ago - we put the coffee table over this spot.

Here is the after carpet, it is a silver/gray color and so, so soft. I just love digging my toes into it.

Kinda busy at work today, which is a good thing, sure helps the day to go by faster.

B: cinnammon roll

S: sweet and salty bar

L: flat bread pizza with spinach, onions and mushrooms - very little cheese (maybe 1/4 cup if that)

D: I am going to make a northern bean stew. DH went and bought me a leek for this stew, so I will try and use my new instapot and get this made.

Have a great evening IP.

Happy Sunday! Logging on from phone again...I don't like at all!

Up at 7:00 this morning and hung out with DH until 10:00 we went downstairs to the basement and go all the linens folded and put back in the shelves we have down there. I started laundry. Then DH and I went and stored all the Christmas decorations back into the attic. I didn't realize we had so much. We swept and got the garage back orderly. My favorite thing is using the leaf blower to sweep! So quick and thorough.

DH then headed out for shopping and I finished laundry.

B: toast

D: almost sausage dogs will never have this again. Not a fan of any kind of pretend wannabe meat!

My alarm went off at 6:30 but I didn't get up until 8:30.

we started with the girl's room at 10:00 and we didn't finish until 3:45. I broke her bed standing on it to put in a new light bulb. DH has to get tool to fix it. I then went into her bathroom which was a big mistake...because then I needed to clean it. She is such a slob. When we had the house treated she said a bottle of shampoo exploded in the tub. This girl has taken two or more showers since then but couldn't clean the dried shampoo off the rub! WTF?

This made me mad and of course DH hears the worst of my ranting and raving.

hopefully I'll get more done tomorrow.

B: toast

no lunch

D: gyro and onion rings

S: PB&J

I will try again tomorrow to ge my todo list finished.

regarding PB&J, i'm enjoying PB&J flavored ice cream by Halo Top...it tastes nice like PB&J even though it doesn't look anything like it or have a large jelly swirl...but the taste is there :)

Day 3...already planning a cheat.

Last night I got home with good intentions, but the carpet installers had just arrived at 3:15, so they were no were near finished. DH and I went to the bank to have some papers notarized and then stopped at Wendy's for dinner. For some reason I felt I needed to feed the carpet installers and also bought them a hamburger meal as well. They seemed to appreciate it. They left around 6:45. My carpet looks fabulous and is so cushy compared to the last carpet.

B: baked mixed berry oatmeal

S: sweet and salty bar

D: salad, french fries and 1/2 frosty and half a piece of warmed Naan.

After the carpet installers left we put the living room back together and then talked about all the stuff we still have to do. I will have a busy weekend....if I do my todo list.

1. Get girl's bed cleaned and moved.

2. Get my bed cleaned and put back

3. fold and sort out all the bed linens that are still strewn around the basement

Onward to my less cluttered life.

4. shopping and laundry on Sunday

Tonight, I have decided to eat Jersey Mike's one last time, because I have a gift card and I don't need it burning a hole in my pocket. I will be back on the meatless wagon tomorrow, because it was a good thing and it made me happy.

Today I am t thankful that I can work, even though there are times I hate it, I'm just glad I am able.

I have a great day! IP

I had plans to make black eyed peas and potatoes last night, however, after discovering all my potatoes were...well black inside, I scratched that real fast, I have never been a fan of black eyed peas anyway. I've always been told eating black-eyed peas on New Year's Day brings good luck....and well with my last few months, I would think a good dose of luck would be very welcomed right now...but no.

My potatoes, sweet potatoes, alvocados and most of the onions were ugly or bad or just not something I would eat. I guess they didn't like staying in 150 degrees for six hours...never thought about taking the food out to the garage. And a few house plants got murdered as well.

We decided to order out. I had a salad, potato soup and french fries.

The carpet people are supposed to be over between 1 and 3, I hope it is closer to 1, and I was hoping they would be finished before I got home from work, but that doesn't look like it will happen. I may go to the library to avoid that hassle. I told DH I would help move the furniture when I got home, because I wanted to move the living room around.

Today...I am thankful again for my husband. He just does so much for me, I don't know how I ever made it without him. He makes me breakfast every day and I never have to take out the garbage and I never have to ask him to do it, nor do I have to take the cans out to the curb or get the mail. He is my rock and I just love him so much.

Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

We didn't even try to stay awake. DH was home at 5:30, we ate, the girl left at 6:00 and DH was asleep by 7:00. About 10:30 I wake him up to go to bed.

I had my alarm sat as usual for 5:30, but I turned that off.

We got up this morning at 7:30 and started getting the house back into order from the bed bug treatment.

We got the spare bedroom back in order, and we even moved the furniture around, it looks much better in there now.

We put the blankets back into the cedar chest in the computer room and straighted that room back up.

And then we tackled our bedroom with the clothes and the closet, just so many clothes. It is back together now.

The last thing we did was take down all the Christmas decorations and tree and got all of that out of the house.

I still need to sweep and dust the family room and put some furniture back down there we moved for Christmas.

Later tonight we will move some of the furntiure out of the living room for the carpet install tomorrow.

DH said he would work with the girl to get her room back to normal. She did pick up all her clothe, but let her stuffed animals all over, because I told her I wanted to move her bed to vacuum. DH will help her some tomorrow. If they don't get ifinished I will finish it over the weekend.

found some old journals from 2001....made me sad.

B: baked oatmeal with mixed berries

L: one piece of peppermint bark 70 calories

D: black eyed peas, boiled potatoes, salad

I hope you all have a great New Year.

I am so thankful for my husband. He takes so much sh!t from me, sometimes I don't know how he can keep his temper in check. Sometimes I am just awful towards him. I will work on this. Also I am a control freak - I just want things the way I want them. I will work on this.

I arrived to work late. DH came by about 12:30 and dropped the girl and dogs off. They stayed until 2:00 and we left and ran around. We tried to go to the park and walk the dogs, but it was very chilly and we got back in the car. I stopped by the bank and paid DH's truck payment and drove by the house. The man doing the heat treat told me they would be out by 5:00

We picked up Chipolte and went back home about 4:45. They were gone. When the girl and I went in the house, holy hell it was hot as fire. The thermostat read 122. We opened doors and windows and turned on fans. The granite countertop was so hot we couldn't touch it. We had a nice little post card that read something to the effect of...Beautiful Mess - uh that is an understatement! My furniture was all over the place and all the clothes and linens were tossed out of the drawers...I knew this, but to see it all was just so overwhelming.

Samething in the bedrooms, which was even more overwhelmeing because the mattresses and beds were upended and the clothes, the shear amount of clothes we have...WHY? And then half my clothes hanging in the closet were not to get the necessary heat/air flow through there. Again I get it...but OMG and it was even hotter up there if that is possible. It was so hot, I couldn't stand on the carpet - kind of reminded me of the hot sand in Saudi Arabia that I could not walk on without shoes.

The girl and I just opened the windows and tried to eat dinner in the heat, and I'm still in awe over the heat in my home. My house was finally at 76 degrees at 10:00 pm last night with the doors and windows open.

The girl opted to sleep downstairs again as she said she didn't even want to tackle the clothes and stuff all over her room. I did put my bed down and actually put sheets on it...just for the night. However, I am taking it apart on NY to thoroughly vacuum and wipe down everything again.

New carpet gets installed on 1/2/2020...so I will need to get the furniture moved out of the living room. Needless to say we will be busy on NY day.

DOWNSIDE - after reading all the paperwork about what to take out of the house (aersole cans, crayolas, candles, medicine, wine, drinking alcohol, oil paintings and any heirlooms to be taken out of the house) though, blatently obvious, I did not even think about taking out the house plants...they were all fried to a crisp! and then the guys left my side gate open and Rocco ran off, he comes back, but that's not the point.

Though I have thoughts and ideas in my mind they are not come to fruition about my new year...right now, I just have the ordeal of trying to get my house into order.

Yesterday with Chipolte I ate donuts...that was my last bit of treachery with food. I just had a craving for donuts....

I hope you all have a very safe, happy new year.

Here is to a more healthy and better 2020. IP

Frankly, I do not know how you have managed ALL of this. Your last entry AND this one are just heartbreaking. I was thinking to myself, Oh. My. WORD. I don't know how you got through it.

Bugs are pretty much where I draw the line. The mice weren't too cool, but bugs take that invaded feeling to a whole other level.

(I will comment on your entry from Dec. 30th as well.)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/02/2020:

So I had a total melt down on Christmas Day...because I found more bed bugs. I was consumed with rage. DH left to get the girl and I was sitting on the edge of the bed getting dressed when i saw a bug on my foot. Freaked me out. I jumped up and looked for more. I lifted up the mattress (we have a platform bed - no box springs) and those dirty b@stards were crawling on the slats. I used an entire can of Raid ont he bugs I did see. I called DH and was yelling at him on the phone. He came back with the girl. I made her leave her stuff in the garage. I told her YES I am MAD, but I'm not mad at you. AGAIN we pulled apart the bed and sprayed and sprayed and cleaned.

I washed and washed and washed. Finally about 2:00 we decided to actually have Christmas. Thursday we actually had a bed bug man come out...YES we have bed bugs. I asked if anything we had done helped at all. He said of course, you killed some bugs...but not the eggs. He showed us all the eggs. OMG So so disgusted.

We paid him $2800 to come and heat the house up to 140 degrees for six hours. He said they would all be dead....now about the girl and her school and her mom's house I have no control over...so I am just livid about spending that much money. Do I just not let the girl in my home? Of course not. Her mom said their land lord will not pay to have it done...I told the girl to just have a change of clothes in the garage I cannot live like this.

For the last five nights I have been sleeping in the spare bedroom or on the sofa. The man didn't find any bugs/eggs in the spare room...well on that day. The girl's bedroom was the worst. He said our house was like a 4 out of 10 on the infested scale. I cannot put into words how disgusted I am.

This morning the crew arrived and heated my car and I dressed in the basement with clothes that had been in the dryer for over an hour. DH got his truck done and he took the girl and two dogs out of the house. They should be finished by 4:30....and then it is cleaning time again.

I left all the Christmas decorations up just in case those nasty things got in my decorations. They will be treated too.

I have been eating meat too. I ate chicken on Christmas Eve and yesterday and I even had a piece of prime rib on Christmas day, but that is it. Back to the no meat today.

I was telling DH...I cleaned head lice for four years, with no help from the mother. Though disgusted it really didn't bother anyone but the girl...BUT with these bed bugs, they are affecting everything in my life....and I will not tolerate it. I will have to say something to her mother, because she is not living in a bed bug infested house. She is 15 now, and should be able to state this same exact thing to her mother. I just can't do it.

Back to work today...which is actually ok, because everyone is still gone for the holidays.

B: toast

L: 1/2 pb and banana

D: pasta with marinara, salad and brocolli

Have a great day! IP

bearcountrygg on 12/30/2019:
Oh wow...you have my sympathies about the bed bugs....that is a difficult situation.......I'm not sure if it's an option or even something you would want to do......but...have you considered getting full custody of her? Maybe that is too much and i would understand if it is......but it sounds like you may have a case for that...it would end child support payments but add a new dimension of caring for her. Her house must be so infested and rather or not her landlord pays isn't really your problem...she should pay for it.....maybe she should use the child support for that. I do well remember foster children arriving with lice and having to leave their things outside overnight...and having to whisk a poor scared toddler straight to the bathtub for a delousing.....not one of our fondest memories but a memory none the less.....I don't think we had a bed bug issue in those days but I was warned once about 2 toddlers with crabs....not to mention broken bones that had healed wrong because they were never set medically.........I think you may have a case against child abuse there if you choose to pursue it...or it may just be easier to have pest control come on some kind of regular basis......but i will say...that I am quite suspicious of her mother right now......I really feel bad for you that you have to deal with this.....because if they don't get rid of them at her house she will just keep spreading them to yours....((HUGS))

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/30/2019:
I'm really sorry to hear of the continued problem with bed bugs and that's a ton of money to get the house treated !!!! but of course, it has to be done!

Donkey on 12/31/2019:
Um, I was thinking the same thing about reporting this infestation at the girl's mom's house to someone. I'm no expert, but that's sounding kind of like unfit home environment.

Do you have some kind of small, local paper or local Facebook group where you could give the school district some bad publicity? They need to smoke out the whole school, if that's where she's picking them up from.

DH didn't have to work Saturday, so so relieved. We left about 7:30 to go get the last minute shopping done. When we got home we packed up the dogs and left the house. We bombed the house again for those stupid bed bugs, I am still getting bitten on my arms, sitting in my recliner, though we are unable to see them...they are there.

We took the dogs on a hike around a small lake in Elyria. It was rather nice, though a big chilly. The dogs had jackets on, but I bet their feet still got cold walking in the snow. We then wne to Rural King and lookeda round, again, with the dogs...they loved the store.

After I made the prize tree for the games on Christmas with the kids over, it is filled with gift cards and candy.

Sunday I did laundry and cleaned some of the house, I have yet to wrap the presents and if I don't get that done tonight, I have most of the day tomorrow to get it done.

Saturday I had bean burritos from Taco Bell

Sunday I had a blueberry bagle and a veggie sandwich from Subway...which was like a whole onion...which I had to take off. I probably won't ever get a veggie sandwhich again from...NO WHERE! I can make one better myself.

Today is the only day I have to work, as I am off two days and then took two days of annual leave. I will be back here on Monday next week.

i  hope you all have a verry Merry Christmas. IP

Onion is one of those things that can be over done!!! Looks like you were being really productive though!

Donkey on 12/24/2019:
I find that Subway onions - and it doesn't matter which Subway I go to - are usually always very strong. However, this does not bother me, although I cannot say the same of those around me.

DH told me earlier in the week that he texted the girl to vacuum and unload the dishwasher.

I pick her up last night and we come home and she does nothing. This aggravates me, it's as if she has no respsonbility whatsoever and it's like she doesn't care. I didn't tell her to do it, because I wasn't even included in the conversation...however, I tell DH. I told him, don't take her to get her eyebrows done next weekend, because she didn't do anything...but she has all week. Whatever!

DH has to work today (his day off) and tomorrow which really aggravtes me! I hate his job. So I will be home most of the day myself to unload the dishwasher and vaccum and clean male piss off the toilet (I hate this too from a grown ass man)! He says, we can do something...oh sure right, I just love doing something when you are tired and in pain and/or fall asleep half way through it. No Thanks!

Anway, I spent most of the night making this vegetable tree for work. It turned out ok. I used a styrofoam code to toothpick all the vegetables to and then I made the ranch dressing dip.

The fruit ended up in a Christmas tree glass serving plate, because this took way too much time and I didn't even want to mess with the smaller fruit.

I had a salad from Wendy's with french fries and a small frosty to dip my fries in.

This year just needs to go away!

Have a great night IP
