Drama anyone?

OMG...Saturday as I was getting dressed, I got the worst charlie horse/cramp in my trapezius or terus major muscle in my back, I couldn't raise my arms or breath. At first I thought I was having a heart attack but after it subsided I knew it was a charlie horse. I was sore there the rest of the day. I had DH massage it off and on most of the day, he said I had a knot the size of an egg under my shoulder. I took a muscle relaxer and Aleve and slep most of the day on and off. It was so sore. Sunday it was better, still sore, but at least I can breath easier. Very scary for me at first.

Due to the muscle relaxer I didn't do much. I did make a turkey meat loaf that was ok with some brocolli mac and cheese. And then the YA comes over - haven't seen him since Christmas and brings another round of drama with him. Apparently he got into an argument with his cousin and he got kicked out of the Grandma's house and now he doesn't have anywhere to live with his skanky girlfriend. They cam over and he cried on DH's shoulder (which was sad but still) He's been kicked out of three places in the last eight months, I'm thinking he's the problem. He was saying the cousin body slammed him into a wall and he had to go to the ER and told DH to expect an ER bill. DH said...that's in your name, not mine. You expect a ER bill and oh you have an ER bill on our refrigerator from the last time you went to the ER, you know the time you pretended to work.

Anyway, they stayed about an hour and left. Then DH got a text asking if they could stay with us. OK Yeah...right! First off, you tell me I'm mean to your sister and make her cry and then you tell me I stress her out because I make her do homework and you want to live with ME!! Slow your roll there Mr. That will not happen unless you take yourself back to school. You will not live in my house until you go back to school and be a productive human being. And your scanky GF is NOT staying here all day, everyday while I get my @ss up and go to work. He stayed at his mother's house.

DH tried to call him all day Sunday, but someone miraculously his step-father was able to find him an apartment to live and he will have to do some maintenance work during the evenings. Well good luck buddy, hope that works out for you. Oh and you'll have to pay for electricity, cable, gas, water and trash service, so don't think it's just going to be a flat $400 a month. I will give you a bed and dishes if you need but that is all.

DH made a nasty-hard-to-eat pork stew that was really disgusting, but I ate a bowl of it and a corn bread muffin.

will continue this later - just had an accident...at work...and yuck!

Progress as of today: 17.9 lbs lost so far, only 93.7 lbs to go!

Oh Boy...it haws been rough at your house.......D had a muscle cramp in his shoulder a few months ago and went to the er thinking he was having a heart attack too...in fact they thought so themselves....did lots of tests and sent him home with a presc.....scared us too. Drink extra water.

That's a lot of drama... If you ever figure out how to get someone to get his **** together in life, please let me know.

Maria7 on 02/06/2018:
Hope you have a good day today.

horn_of_plenty on 02/06/2018:
i sorta agree, that he shouldn't live with you.

Yeah a muscle pull or stretch wrong can hurt!

I had a strained neck muscle for one week, it hurt to breathe when i moved my body wrong, it's healed thankfully since last week and all better.

happy-1 on 02/06/2018:
I know this thing looks like plastic ebay junk but it really works. It's better than a muscle relaxer but I still take turmeric daily and sometimes ibuprofen for the inflammation. The theracane works because you position the knob yourself and then breathe into it and apply the pressure using your own body weight. Have been off muscle relaxers for a year now.

Weight: 303.7

Had leftover chicken alfredo for dinner - ended the night with 1238 calories.

Didn't go to the gym

BUT was up this morning at 4:30 and went. I loved it, because we were the only ones there until about 5:10. I don't particularly like the gym, but if I can get there with no people, I would benefit greatly. Got home showered and came to work. I took an Aleve, so hopefully I won't get too sore.

B: cereal, milk, 1/2 english muffin

S: yogurt, black berries, granola

L: skipped

S: balanced breaks, small piece of german chocolate cake for Marty's BD at work. I didn't eat it all because it had dark chocolate ganache on it, and it tasted so bitter to me.

D: chicken fried stead, mashed potatos and gravy, green beans

Should be ok, depending on how big the peice of steak is -

The girl is over this weekend.

DH said he would go to the gym in the AM before she wakes up, she won't even get on a machine when we go, she aggravates me

Have a great weekend! IP

Good plan for the gym...and you get it done for the day.

horn_of_plenty on 02/02/2018:
ever have a balsamic vinagrette with your chicken / noodle dishes.

with her at the gym, she's afraid - you have to show her how to use the machine.

next, make it only a goal of 15 minutes, and hopefully she has good music in her phone to listen to and headphones...! that should help?

innerpeace on 02/05/2018:
I've tried. I even put her on a recumbant bike and she would NOT do it. I was right next to her on another bike. She was embarrassed and thinks everyone is just watching her. She's a brat!

horn_of_plenty on 02/05/2018:
you gotta help her ... explain how nobody cares about the other person at a gym...that it's not a bunch of teens....that people go for THEMSELVES more than to watch her...and that nobody is looking at her bc she's 13...and too young for most normal men to consider lol....! something to that effect but maybe tamer...but you gotta get her to realize nobody's watchin.

DH made a terrific chicken alfreado baked dish with a kale salad, it was all very good.

The girl got her report card so they decided to go to DQ afterwards to celebrate. I was always told not to celebrate with food, but caved and joined them. Ended the day with 1944 calories, thanks to that delicious treat afterwards.

Proud of the girl though, she made three As, two Bs and a C in social studies. She did say she wanted to do art and choir in highschool. We will see how long this lasts.

Slept well, actually kept waking up thinking I was oversleeping. I really am much more comfortable and feel so much more safer with DH there during the night.

Today, DH is going for an interview, it is about 35 miles awhile, but he needs something pretty quick. I have all kinds of faith that he will find something, but there is always that little jab in the back of my brain wondering what if he doesn't? That little unemployment better kick in or else I will have to start penny pinching in a big way. Also the tax return will help some, but I had other plans for that...and it didn't include covering a mortgage payment.

B: English muffin, peanut butter 1/2 banana

S: yogurt, blackberries, granola

L: left over chicken alfredo

S: balanced breaks

D: I think left over chicken alfredo

We have the girl this weekend. If the weather isn't too unbearable cold, we may go to the ice sculputure festival, we went last year it was kind of nice. There is also a home and garden show I want to go to, but we will see.

Have a great Thursday....oh yeah and its gym night!

Celebrating with food has always been our family's way also. Whenever we have a birthday, anniversary, date night, girl's sport team win, etc. They all include food. For me, I have to limit my portion size or find a better substitution. For DQ, I'd normally order the Banana Split with 510 calories or Peanut Buster Parfait with 710 calories. Recently I've been choosing the fudge bar with 50 calories.

I'll be honest. It's a struggle. The fudge bar doesn't hold a candle to the Peanut Buster Parfait, but it does allow me to have a treat without feeling guilty afterwards.

Donkey on 02/01/2018:

horn_of_plenty on 02/02/2018:
i hope girlie DOES do art and choir. those things are important for overall success bc they teach creativity and also add enjoyment into the learning process...and also socialization with friends that may take part in those two classes...if she's good at art, she can become even an ART TEACHER. good money there! i know one, personally.

i'm like not creative at all which is why i could NEVER be an art teacher. However, i could have seen that for you ! you'd have made an excellent art instructor which is why maybe the girlie is talented in this...? pays well. just needs a good education / college and possibly masters (need masters in NYC after a few years of teaching). if i'd continued the teacher route, which i didn't, money would be a non-issue. but that's long in the past now.

horn_of_plenty on 02/02/2018:
as for social studies, she just needs to memorize the stuff...and study less last minute is my guess.

Food last night - meh! It as good but you know that feeling when you know you just want to nosh on a big fat juicy cheese burger!! THAT!

DH made baked salmon and roasted vegetables and steamed asparagus - I have concluded I'm not a fan of asparagus.

Beets make for some interesting times...red poop and red urine! If you don't know, it could make some alarming times.

Ended the night with 1377 calories.

Crazy dreams last night and then my dog wants to whine likes he a puppy and can't make it down the stairs. I got up with him, gave him some fresh water and a snack. He went back to bed after he went outside and barked for five minutes.

We have the girl tonight - no plans.

B: frosted flakes

L: salmon salad, crackers, yogurt, blackberries

S: balanced breaks

D: chicken alfredo with brocolli

Tomorrow I go back to the gym....DH was there today already, so proud of him.

Got home and DH had dinner ready. He made the kale veggy burger with a kale salad - kale overload. Ended the night with 1324 calories. Pretty good.

DH took the taxes in to get done, we get some back, but somehow owe the stupid city $200 bucks. Whatever!!

I had a telehealth Move call from the VA. My coordinator put me on for six more months. He said I was close to my goal of getting under 300 and asked me what happened. uh...LIFE!! Priorities are askew, I give up! So I will keep on answering my 7:00 a.m. phone call.

Not a fan of the gym and I am very sore today and I didn't even like kill myself last night.

No luck for DH yet on getting a new job. This will bother me soon.

Friday night we had baked sweet potatos for dinner. They were pretty good. I went to bed at 9:00. Ended my calories at 1559. I'm ok with that.

Saturday we were up early and dropped my car off and went to breakfast. Afterwards we went shopping and came back home. I made chicken and dumplings for dinner and had yogurt and berries. Ended the day with 1222 calories

Sunday - laundry day. Sat around the house - just no motivation to do anything. Made a pot of chili and took the dog for a walk, it was a nice day.

B: JD delight

L: left over chicken and dumplings

D: chili

S: DQ Blizzard

was over calories because I couldn't say no to the blizzard - ended the day with 1542 calories.

Monday - DH is home doing what little things he can. He has applied for lots of jobs and hopefully will get a call back soon. He did try to apply for unemployment but was having issues with some paperwork and of course he can't reach anyone over the phone, it is all done through on-line and email. He is frustrated, but I told him, there is no reason to be. Just wait.

B: JD delight

S: yogurt, blackberries

L: tuna, cottage cheese

D: quinoa burger, salad

I really need to stop reading people's posts today. I keep seeing foods I love but really don't have good self control over portion sizes when eating them. Love sweet potatoes, but I want a large one with lots of butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, and maybe some mini marshmallows. That one sweet potato with the toppings I'd want would probably kill my whole calorie allotment for the day.

bearcountrygg on 01/29/2018:
Is the quinoa burger frozen? Do you make them yourself?

It is frozen. We got it from Aldi.

So it amazes me how my life can change in a few hours. So DH came home yesterday and told me the new job didn't work out and he was told not to come back....SERIOUSLY!! Wow...not what I wanted to hear. He said he did his best. He said they complained his hand writing was terrible and that he was too slow. Well he was just learning the job, so I'm not sure what the problem was. Rediculous! And then in the next sentence he tells me he has another interview Friday morning.

I got home and made the dinner. Here is the potato, ground beef roll, it has tomatos and spinach in it as well, with just a little cheese (parmesean holding the potatoes together and a little mozzerlla between the spinach and ground beef.

Ended the night with 1489 calories.

This morning I get to sleep in until 5:30.

DH was up and made breakfast and he went on to his interview at 9:00

B: toast, peanut butter, banana

S: balanced breaks, peanut butter m&m's (from DH)

L: left over potato roll

S: yogurt, blueberries

D: supposed to be sweet potato and blackbeans, we will see

Time to button down the wallet! DH is on the job hunt again.

No real plans this weekend. I wanted to go to an indoor garage sale and my car has an appointment to have something replaced. that is all.

DH and I went to our fitness trainer yesterday. I guess he was nice. He got us acclimated to the gym and DH actually said he wants to go. I hope this entusiasm lasts, at least he is losing weight. We have the girl tonight, so we will not being going again until tomorrow.

With DH's new job he is off most Fridays and all weekend, those 10 hours days, I think he likes. He did say he was slow at adjusting to the new procedures and new testing machines, I hope it picks it up quickly or else they will boot him out the door. Only time will tell, he did say he was having a better day, so maybe.

Woke up this morning with a stiff back, maybe because of those machines, using muscles, I forgot I had, Aleve helped.

Work was crazy this week for some reason, oh, the little shutdown has peoplze acting crazy. One system they actually shut down for four hours, hasn't came back up yet, some financial thing.

Dinner last night was left over pizza - finished the day with 1439 calories.

B: toast, boiled egg, banana

S: banana

L: left over pizza - it is all gone now, yogurt, blackberries

S: balanced breaks

D: we are going to try the potato/beef roll up thing again. If it turns out I will take a picture.

Out of my iced coffee, haven't decided to make a strip to Sandusky to get some more. I just may do with out.

No girl this weekend, but car needs to be in the shop on Saturday for some multifunctional converter to be replaced.

Have a great evening! IP

horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2018:
i think 10hr days are definitely better alternative. 3 day weekends provide you with the ability to plan for 3 days of personal time instead of 2.

we waste so much time anyways on workdays that it just seems much more productive to work 4 days than 5, even if a longer day, i think that the time off is beneficial for sure.

it would benefit me, a gym-goer, for sure as i'd workout more on the nights that i can sleep in the next day. also more time to prepare food, do any errands. good.....

i know the 10hr days can be tiring, so i guess make sure he gets sleep before a workday. very good.

i'm glad you enjoyed meeting the gym trainer.

Met DH and the girl at the library. It was a great event and even more so if you like hot chocoloate. We tried Spanish, Itailian, Mexican, French and Vienese hot chocolates. Most of them were very bitter to me and the others were just sickenly sweet. It was a great experience though. I voted for the French. I ate two lady finger cookies with the hot chocolate.

D: was the home made pizza on flat bread, turned out delicious. We even made enough for dinner tonight.

Ended the night with 1415 calories, thanks to the chocolate.

On schedule DH was asleep at 8:15. i was hoping working the dayshift again would get him out of this sleep pattern. I got up the same time he did and I don't fall out like that.

Up this morning at 4:30 got DH out the door.

B: toast, peanut butter, banana

L: left over pizza

The hot chocolate tasting sounds like fun and it's really good that you are exposing your daughter to so many different things....you guys really do make good use of your time with her, some day she will look back on those times happily!

Maria7 on 01/24/2018:
Sounds like Y'all had a good time. :-)

Donkey on 01/24/2018:
When my husband worked nights (11p-7a), he would take a nap right after dinner from about 7p-9:30p.

When my husband worked days (7a-3p), he would be in bed between 8:30p-9p, because he had to get up so early.

You might find that your hubby is able to stay up a little later during the workweek, on days, once the stress of learning a new job wears off a bit. I hope so. Anyway, I would get up early with my husband and exercise. Now that he's disabled, I still get up at 5am to workout!

innerpeace on 01/25/2018:
Yes, my husband did that nap thing from about 7:30 to 10:30 to be at work at midnight, but he is back on day shift now. I didn't think he would still fall asleep so early. Maybe he is still adjusting, time will tell.

horn_of_plenty on 01/25/2018:
hopefully just hot chocolate tastings, lol...interesting event at library i think i'd run from it bc i would be faced with too many temptations of food / drink...rather stay home. but sounds tasty, so ignore my negative commentary...

DH gets home later than me now. I had the leftovers heated up with a nice tossed salad. Ended the night with 1405 calories.

I sent a few postcards and as usual DH promptly falls asleep at 8:45. He says he is just mentally exhausted from all the learning his new job takes. OK and the exuse for falling asleep so early before was it was so physically taxing. He sleeps more than anyone I've ever known.

I got caught up watching The Good Doctor and stayed up until 11:00.

Was up at 4:30, got DH out the door. watched CSI episode.

B: frittata, toast

S: yogurt, blueberries

L: 1/2 cordon bleu
