Weight: 290.2

I haven't logged food in almost two months - not sure why I stopped but I will start this again tomorrow - when I logged I lost.

Weekend was pretty cool

Saturday DH and I drove to Burton, OH about an hour away and had high tea, it was delightful with little sandwiches, pastries and salad. Very relaxing and I enjoyed myself. On the way home we stopped at the Lake View Cemetrary - I so wanted to see the lake, but I guess we were not at the right places - some pretty high profile people here

Garfield - 20th president, though he was president for only 4 months, he sure had an impressive memorial. Couldn't go inside because it doesn't open until April.

John D. Rockefeller - first billionaire and founder of Standard Oil Company

Eliot Ness - took down Al Capone - this photo turned out bad, but we were there.

Alan Freed - the DJ or coined the phrase Rock & Roll

We also stopped at a outdoor garden supply store - specializing in concrete statues (angels and such) however, they had this life size giraffe that was AMAZING!

At work on Friday - I received fraud alerts and someone - hacked my work credit card and they closed my account. This aggravates me...I have bills to pay.

Nice evening at home - laundry and NCAA basketball (my bracket was busted the first day, however, it is still fun to watch)

I thought the dryer was going out - it was taking three hours to dry one load - found the lint vent outside clogged  - we haven't cleaned it or checked it for 8 years - so I'm just glad it was fixable...now we Know!

B: Denver omelet, bacon, biscuit

L. bread

D: grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, brocolli

_ damn!! candy - I had reeses cups.

I'm hoping tomorrow will start a better week - no drama, no hassle...

Have a great SUnday! ip

Progress as of today: 47.7 lbs lost so far, only 80.2 lbs to go!

Maria7 on 03/21/2021:
Sounds like you and your Hubby had a very interesting, nice weekend traveling! Happy for you! Enjoyed the photos. Have a good evening.

bearcountrygg on 03/22/2021:
Sorry to hear about the fraud on your card. There are so many people out there that are not worth their salt.....Shameful! Your dryer problem sounds like mine...but I wish ours was as easy to fix as yours was....we checked ours too but it wasn't that. Great pics you took!

Donkey on 03/22/2021:
Aside from the fraud, sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

Weight: 290.2

In the office today - still here - I think this is the longest I've stayed since...COVID! but my boss in on vacation and I'm really not around people so I am truly OK.

Took the girl to her grandma's house...just drama I don't need.

Apparently the girl failed Spanish for third quarter, very aggravated. When I ask the teacher she says she has told the girl and POS several times this quarter and sent emails...OK so? They did nothing. The girl said she can't access the google classroom so if she can't access the google classroom how can she do anything? The girl said she emailed the teacher several times and the teacher says...and I replied but the girl has nothing or deleted it...I just don't understand the POS and why she didn't get involved before now so - NOW...I DO! and it just makes my hair grayer...

This is why I walk and this is why I didn't cook - DH ordered me a chicken club wrap from the diner. It was oK.

Here some pictures I took from Royal Oak last night, this was the converted golf course, I guess no one used, now is walking trails and fishing ponds.

Waiting on the greenery!

Today is rainy and dreary and just about is par for my mood...somehow my work purchase card was compromised and I received notification that it was used at Walmart Grocery and DSW - seriously THOUGH! this card has never left the office...people are just down right AWFUL.

B: yogurt, granola, vanilla iced latte

L: didn't bring anything (my stomach is growling)

D: I told DH to order pizza - i just want pizza

Scheduled a Spanish tutor for the girl - so WHAT if it is on Saturday...when she is supposed to spend time with her mother - PRIORITIES and while she is in tutoring while spending time with POS - DH and I are going for tea in Burton, Ohio....SO THERE!   BIOTCH!

In my best Chandler Bing voice - CAN today GET any better?

Have a great evening - I guess I won't be walking in the rain! IP

I just LOVE your photos of where you walk! Thank you so much for taking them and sharing them with us. A lot of us are very cheered up by looking at them. They look very peaceful. So sorry to hear about your work card. Pizza sounds good for supper and the s/w you had for lunch sounds delicious. That is wonderful that you Daughter is learning Spanish. That would be the language I would want to learn if I learned another one. You are so good and loving to her. I hope you have a good day and get some rest when you get off of work and take good care of YOU.

Jacky82020 on 03/18/2021:
Fantastic photos as always!

Donkey on 03/19/2021:
How fortunate that you have nearby places to walk.

Maria7 on 03/19/2021:
Still enjoying these very nice photos this morning! Thanks again.

Maria7 on 03/21/2021:
Hope you are having a good day. Still enjoying looking at these pretty photos of your walking places. So relaxing to look at! Take care.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/21/2021:
the drama with the failing of the spanish and the drama with the teacher and how it all never got taken care of....is so unfortunate. that just sounds so messed up, like you wrote it to be! yes, not cool. i'm so surprised she couldn't access it and then nothing else was done for it to work out. maybe there's something that can be done to fix this, perhaps you have to put your foot down and fix it (if you are allowed per court orders / allowed to speak with girl's teacher?) (i am not aware of privledges, etc of how it works with step parents / divorces, court orders - that's why i wrote it this way - i am not knowledgable of what can be done and can't be done in that school situation!)

the fishing area / lake photo is one of your only nature photos that reminds me of where i live! we have a lot of those "weeds" growing around our ponds / small lakes too. they multiply like no other and take up the whole pond!

sorry your card was compromised! you never know with these scammers, just finding the details somehow to the card. at least you are aware and can cancel those costs with the bank.

well well well...you did fix the Spanish for the girl a lot...now that i read till the end...how wonderful you scheduled a spanish tutor.

I once needed a math tutor...i ended up getting a 97 on the state test that year....i wasn't paying attention in class, but fully understand the material after the tutor, as you see.

i expect after she catches up with the spansh she didn't understand, she'll be good to go...the teacher ought to give her some kind of extra credit based on this spanish tutoring. the teacher should be made aware of what you are doing to correct / mitigate the situation. let the teacher know. girl should tell the teacher what's going on (tutoring), if anything, by email and teacher should confirm she got the email....and later there needs to be discussion on the grading, etc. teacher doesn't sound like the best, iether.

I am in a cunundrum - I hated DH working 2nd shift - and I hate him working 1st shift - he gets up at 3:15 and sometimes gets home by 4:00 - eats dinner and is asleep by 7:00 - WTH. He is the hardest working person I know. But I like him and I like doing things with him and his working this assine shift limits that and he is way too tired to do anything when he gets home. We used to walk, we enjoyed it, but now he gets sometimes close to 15,000 steps a day at work, I just can't find it in me to ask him to walk with me (us - the doggos) when he gets home...so we go alone.

We went to Indian Hollow last night (first time in a while) I thought it would be greener...but wishful thinking - still looking dark and gloomy.

Can't wait for greener days - hurry up spring!

I did eat half pint of ice cream I had left over - blood sugar this a.m. was 136 - a little higher - i have no more ice cream...which is a good thing.

D: General Tso chicken, chow main noodles (probably didn't help blood sugar either) and salad.

Wednesday - over slept

Work - in a training session all afternoon - snooze fest

B: yogurt, granola

(took the doggos for a walk)

L: crackers

I'm taking the girl to her grandmother's house so she can go to school tomorrow and Friday - DH will pick her up Friday afternoon when he gets off work. And then she will go back Saturday afternoon to spend time with her POS mother. And I got in the habit of picking something up on the way home.

DH said he wanted Subway - may do this for him.

Here is a picture form this morning - this is my backyard - over the top of the pergola (not windshield wipers) - looked spooky more Octoberish than March.

Have a great day - enjoy St. Patrick's Day. IP

Beautiful walking places you have there......your sky looked like ours.....

Jacky82020 on 03/17/2021:
Oh! Those wood are lovely, dark and deep.

Yeah, it must suck having him on those schedules.

The husband works remotely for a place in California. Keeps the same hours here he did there when he worked on site.

Maria7 on 03/17/2021:
That walking path and bridge look so pretty!

horn_of_plenty on 03/17/2021:
Sorry dh’s schedule isn’t matching yours.....doesn’t sometimes absence of each other make the heart grow fonder ?!

Love seeing you had salad with the Chinese ! Love that ! The bigger the salad the better !

Yes I agree some of the training courses and videos are too long and not stimulating !!

Donkey on 03/18/2021:
Beautiful pictures!

Came to the realization that one of the last things that Husband and I could do together - bowling - is something that neither one of us can/should be doing any more. His bowling days are over, and mine should be over, which I guess they are.

Things are things are things...

I try to see/look at all the good in things - but some people make that almost impossible. I find myself just shaking my head and wondering how people continue to survive and get along in life.

I am tired of working - yet, I am in no place to retire anytime soon. Run down...beat down!

Mammogram results - normal

DH went and got cortizone shot in his knee - he says he is in no pain yet. These shots usually last a week and then it returns. Dr. said moderate arthitis.

The girl experiences PMS - she is moody and crampy as all get out...I don't remember being this bad so many years ago.

Applied for another job on a whim - not thinking anything about it happening but there's always a chance.

Blood sugar this a.m. 119 - didn't walk the doggos the second time last night - no energy!

Made nachos with the smoked chicken last night - it was ok.

B: yogurt, granola, vanilla iced latte

L: left over chicken nachos

D: honey/sesame chicken, noodles, salad Asain flair.

May think about going to the office Thursday and Friday.

Have a great day! IP

Wow, always thought the cortisone injections lasted much longer. Guess like everything else it all depends. The husband used to get them for shoulder pain. Had flaked off cartridge floating around. Extremely painful. Finally they sucked it out & gave us a gross video. But the pain has been gone ever since.

bearcountrygg on 03/16/2021:
My sister in law gets what she calls chicken fat injections...she gets by for now and will eventually have the surgery. Good blood sugar reading....What kind of job did you apply for?

Horn_of_plenty on 03/16/2021:
do you have any days to take off? any vacation or sick? if you feel rundown, try to take a break from work when you can. <3 if you can.

if DH can lose weight, it may help him with his pain...it's hard to lose weight, but it can alleviate his pain a little, i am quite sure. when i lost weight, awhile back, from weighing 25 lbs more at my top, i used to have some pain / ankle issues more when i weighed more. just a suggestion, not trying to judge or anything!

is the job you applied for in your current company / union? i think you are in a union? i forget exactly, i know you are at the weather center.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/16/2021:
i see you spent a lot on the weekend...well, so did i! i spent an exorbitant amount today. and i do not care...as i'm a bit rundown myself and indulged in all things - more food, a taxi instead of the bus, more food again, groceries, pharmacy supplies, and an expensive hair treatment (with tip, $180). i'll get it back with the stimulus...and save the rest of it!

Donkey on 03/16/2021:
I too feel or have felt that way about work. I really need a winning lottery ticket. It wouldn't have to be a grand prize, either. 2nd price on a lot of those games is A-OK by me, to retire and work part-time.

Actually, if I didn't have to pay for insurance, I would prefer to work part-time.

Saturday was a good day - I got up and went on my personal walk (no dogs) I did my C25K program. Slowly but surely, this is taking longer, but I'm ok. I want to just do it, there is no end goal.

Actually did the shopping (no instacart) - which is better because you can't splurge and know just exactly what you are getting and how much money you are spending.

Seems like I spent way too much and didn't have as many groceries. Funny how that works.

The new strip sausage - good!

Sunday was a good day - Two walks with the doggos - it was very chilly.

DH grilled and smoked meat for the entire week - ugh!

Laundry and house cleaning. DH was ready for bed by 7:00 - I tried to go to bed at 10:00 but that didn't quite work out. I was up again at midnight and stayed up until about 2:30 and then I just laid in bed and was awaken again at 3:15 when DH got up...not good sleep at ALL - time change idk, maybe late night tea.

Working, working and working.

Have a great day! IP

Great walking....!!! Nice to see you are working on your C25K program again....Just doing it is a great way to go...creating better habits are so important..I'm recreating habits again too.....we will benefit so much! Groceries here are so high too......I will be going tomorrow to do a small shop in person too.......I want to see what they are charging for things too. Getting used to the time change is tough...we never did adjust last fall....but this time we are making ourselves do that....

Jacky82020 on 03/15/2021:
No idea what a C25k is, but I shall google. Google knows all.

Never tried Instracart, use Walmart pickup but usually have to enter store for a few things. Feeling covid safe. Have 1st poke due to underlying condition. That gives 80% immunity & I finally have real N95 masks.

I'm in a bad place with people...DH, POS, the girl, I'm just about fed up with EVERY one of them.

It's official - I've witnessed the extinction of the dinosaurs...(two little boys were playing here yesterday - they left the carcasses of the dead)

LOL on the dinosaurs. We don't have any flowers yet, but there are green sprouts poking up their heads. Tiger lilies I think.

Busy with work.

Had to take the girl to orthodontist appt and while she was in there took the doggos for a walk. It was nice - 65 degrees today...supposed to snow this weekend. Can't wait for the leaves to start blooming - there are already buds so...soon!

I had a thought to go to Washington DC during our spring break, but the girl wasn't interested...she opted for a staycation (day trips) and a new bedroom set. I think we agreed.

At the end of the month that is on a Monday - we are going to Pittsburgh or Columbus to IKEA and get a new bed for her - if we go to Columbus will probably make a trip to Dayton to see sister-in-law - I am hoping for Pittsburgh, because we haven't been there before.

Tuesday - cussing and putting together new bed

Wednesday - I made reservations to dine on the lake in a plastic igloo - sounded fun and it is in/near downtown Cleveland

Thursday - We are driving to the tourist trap of Frankenmuth, MI to eat at the German restaurant there - maybe check Big Bass Pro or Cabelas around the area

All day trips so we don't have to kennel the doggos or get hotels.

So I am looking forward to doing something...but not shelling out lots of $$$ in the process.

Looking forward to warmer days...

I am going to look into planting a small garden or something.

Blood sugar this a.m. 117

Making chicken alfredo for dinner.

Your snow is gone!!! The igloo looks interesting! Bronners Christmas store is really nice (if it's still there)....in Frankenmuth. Thr Family style chicken dinners in town are nice. Glucose numbers are great today...going to be a small deck garden for us this year.

Beautiful walking path!

horn_of_plenty on 03/10/2021:
well, your entry yesterday sounds like you are doing all the right things, your weight is the lowest it's been in a very long time and you feel good! Listen, as we get older, medications and things are only here as an "assist" as we continue to lead healthy lifestyles. also though, everything going on in your body - a lot of it - is based on the PAST of how you ate, exercised, lifestyle. no matter what you do now, it does help, but it cannot just eradicate everything you did in the past.

also as we get the older, the body may need some help...and it's ok to be on medication...don't feel like you are trying so hard and you "still need medication," because a healthy lifestyle if also important. no, you can't just throw in the towel, take medication, and expect the medication to do all the work for you - you won't feel good that way at all!

horn_of_plenty on 03/10/2021:
day trips and a new bedroom set sounds good...there's (i'm sure?) many places you can drive to within 2-3 hours if you consider 2-3 hours away a day trip. :)

you have lots of look forward to with some days off, that's nice.

SH!T, SH!T, SH!T...

i moved and exercised all weekend - Saturday I took the doggos out and we walked and walked at Cascade park - walked up a hill and parallel to the Black River - pleasant walk, a bit chilly but I had my hat and gloves on so not too bad. There are ducks down there just paddling away and honking.

Sunday morning I even got up and walk/ran for over an hour and walked the doggos twice around the block, ran up and down stairs doing laundry.

I ate some chocolate/toffee covered pretzel, had steak for dinner

Freaking gained 5 pounds...WTF! and my blood sugar was 137 this morning! What a crock of SH!T!

I'm convinced those stupid test strips are calibrated to test high every so often to make you feel like you are sick and need medication. I have never felt better and have no aches and pains and just BS!

This is so aggravating, no wonder so many people just quit trying!

Anyway...at work this a.m. and my buddy left me HOPE!

I will continue to march in March!

Dealing with crap....

Hope everyone has a great day! IP

Nice gift!

bearcountrygg on 03/08/2021:
Beautiful flower......glucose isn't too bad....could be worse. considering where it was when you first discovered it.

Maria7 on 03/08/2021:
Sometimes, I think that heavy exercise can cause muscle weight gain. I believe it has for me before. Also, I have found in the past that if I have a high sodium diet that will cause a temporary weight gain. Hang in there.

Donkey on 03/08/2021:
With the exception of blood sugar levels, I am RIGHT THERE with you!!! Oh it is SO frustrating. Wits end, I tell ya. But I will stick with this, and I encourage you to join me and stick with it too.

Still trying - didn't make my February goal - couldn't break through 290...will try again in March.

Kinda just been muddling through work, home life and eating.

I got on a kick and decided to make homemade cinammon rolls, why? I don't even know, as I think cinammon is one of my migraine triggers - I just wanted to try. They were good.

Blood sugar remains between 106-120 - haven't been over 128 in awhile - that has been my highest.

Went to the office - was very busy and have been quite busy with work.

Running around today for appointments - I had a dental appointment - the girl has GYN appointment and then we go pick up her glasses and contact lenses.

Tomorrow I have a mammogram and have to drive to downtown Cleveland - not looking forward to this!

The girl's mom is living with the grandma and she goes over there Wednesday - Saturday to go to school and visit with her mother - the stepdad is apparently back in jail because the room mate called the cops on him and he was thrown in jail for violating the TPO that the mom had on him....uh DH called the police three times about that and couldn't get anything done! It's a mess - DH did actually talk to POS and she was in agreement that, since she is homeless and living with the grandmother, that the girl could stay with us - she is supposed to call the lawyer and tell him - but we will see.

I have been walking still with my doggos.

I will try and check in more frequently as before. I just get so frustrated with stuff and know I will vent here and I doubt this is the place to do that.

I hope you are all well and continue to thrive!

Horn_of_plenty on 03/02/2021:
do you think it's not cinnamon but other ingredients like lots of sugar being the migraine trigger? just asking.

also, you've made fabulous progress who cares if you didn't make your exact goal, just keep on!

also glad your blood sugar has been much better!

so sorry to hear about the other half of the girl's family and jail and everything.

In honor of lent...I stopped playing my game - I would play before work, at lunch and at length in the evenings...I put myself on a 40 day hiatus (44 actually). I told my guild they could kick me out during this time if needed because I won't be there to contribute in the competitions. Missing it already, but I will stand strong!

Last night I made a shepherd's pie. It was ok.

DH snow blowed we got a lot of snow.

Took the doggo out, someone snow blowed our entire circle block of sidewalk...very nice of them.

I took a picture of another someone who dug out the fire hydrant, maybe just for doggos
