Get home and DH has the girl. They go to her doctor's appointment. She has an ear infection and they want to give her a immunization shot. She cries. DH sends a picture telling me she is upset because she has to get a shot. She is 12...not 4 or 5. She is mad when she gets home. The YA stopped over and DH brings pizza. It is OK. I can control myself around pizza. I ended the night with 1648 calories.

The girl has an attitude and the YA annoys me, gladly the girl leaves at 8:00 and the YA shortly after. DH was trying to stay up later preparing for the night shift.

His job interview went well he said, hopefully he will get selected and will get back on the first shift. Another company called him and if selected he would have to take a pay cut, but anything is better than working the nightshift and working the weekends!

B: pillsbury packaged pancakes, turkey sausage

L: left over pizza, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: pork chop, quinoa and roasted vegetables and something I didn't understand DH say.

Was up this morning and finished week 2 day 3 of the C25K. The first interval always feels yuck, but the next one not so bad. Hoping I stick with this. Knees kind of hurt this morning, so I took some Aleve.

No too many plans this weekend, so it should be nice and relaxing, besides the yard work

Have a great weekend! IP

My husband was working the night shift for several years. Very taxing on his body, and on our family life. Considering he has an auto-immune disease, I told him that day shift would be one less battle his body is fighting. I hope your husband gets the job (either one), because you're right -- it's worth a cut in pay to have better hours. Quality of life says a lot.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/05/2017:
Good Morning IP!

Ah, I can understand her being upset bc of the shot. She needs to reminded that she needs it because it’s for health reasons and that everyone does…..She needs your hubby rooting for her / talking to her to distract her. Sorry….my sister was always a big baby with the shots too, even at 12.

Lol – that is a LOT of annoyances with boy (YA) and girl. Lol lol. SORRY IP! It’ll get better. and the annoyances don’t last forever, thankfully. Forever like 24/7 I mean.

If your knee hurts, give it rest until it feels better and just stretch / do alternate exercises that don’t hurt. Let it heal. It’s prob from a bit of overuse, but will get better as you get stronger. I know from experience.

Excellent calories and so nice to see roasted veggies on your menu!

Got home - DH made a nice salad with chopped grilled chicken. It was nice and light. Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen. He has a rental truck until Monday (his truck is being fixed from the pole he backed  into a few weeks ago and knocked off his bumper. I drove it. It is nice, but I wouldn't get rid of my Buick for it.  I had a small sundae at DQ ending the day with 1411.

Had a dermatology appointment today, hopefully my face will get better, it has been descent the last month. The girl has a well-child checkup this evening, DH will take her.

He said he did OK on his interview, probably won't hear anything until next week. It is further, but hopefully they would treat him better.

No plans tonight - GO CAVS!

Have a great night!

B: turkey sausage, pan cakes

S: apple

L: turkey swiss sub from Arby's on the way back from Dr. appointment

S: balanced breaks

D: Dinner no clue

Your salad sounds good! Nowadays, after a salad like that, I tend to much on a few carbs (chips) after the salad to feel satisfied. Or you can snack on popcorn also - i like the orville single serve butter tasting one - it's 160 calories per bag! nice! (it says 200 cal unpopped, weird....and popped 160 cal)....just a suggestion. you can also make your own popcorn (i should!) so much healthier...

oh nice, small sundae after your delicious dinner sounds perfecto! I also enjoy frozen yogurt and milk dessert products although many health folks don't recommend them...i enjoy...and they tend to be low cal ones that the stores all are starting to stock their freezers with....and of course i could learn to make my own...not yet. But I do have a blender to use.

I wish the girl a good check-up...and for you...my skin has a lot to do with stress...keep up the good work, your skin looks good in your photos, you know!

where's your veg? lol....sounds like you ran out of veg or maybe you aren't listing it the veg part?

ENjoy your Friday IP and stay happy!

LOL I will have to get some. DH has been cooking since he's been home and those are not his priority. He goes back to work on Monday.

DH cooked burgers last night. Both the girl and the YA were over. They talk and talk and talk. I am never rude and ask them to stop. I have asked the YA to quit cursing so much, but it is a waste of breath. I will just keep trying.

I didn't get the W2D2 in last night, but I did get up and do it this morning. Felt ok, had a few places where I thought I had a cramp in my foot and a few places when i thought my knee was hurting and then of course the usual tight back. Today I even had issues breathing during one increment and had to tell myself I was fine, "I would live and everything was good" during the walking portion. I may be running slowly but I am doing it and not stopping.

DH called and told me he has an interview set up for tomorrow at 10:00 at another business. He just does not want to work 3rd shift. I don't blame him...I hope it works out either way.

B: crumpetts, maple peanut buttler

L: left over hamburger patty, baby bell cheese

S: balanced breaks

DH did not give me an apple today, i miss it.

No big plans tonight...DH said chicken salad, will see what this is.

I think it's great you remind him not to curse because it DOES SOUND BAD! I have a couple coworkers that curse, it's just totally in their vocabulary and they are very used to talking that way. I started to hear it so much that i started to do it. Now i've stopped - because i don't see purpose in using that type of sour vocabulary. but once you start, it can be fixed, but you need to have a different vocabulary word in your mind to replace it with...like instead of F*ck - he can use Fudge. i don't know....he needs new habits.

yes, keep on with the exercise - if you get a cramp at least stop and stretch the area.

EXCELLENT EATING, lady! keep up the great work. and where's your veggies? tired of them?

talk soon - good luck to your hubby at his interview!!! let us know.

Spend a great Monday at home doing odd jobs around the house - finished a dresser I chalk painted. Started taking all the CDs out of the jewel cases and putting them in a disc sleeve notebook. I forgot how many CDs I had...and I have no CD player that works in my house. Walked the dog and watched the Indians and finished laundry. DH cooked ribs - they were just ok, not in the mood for ribs. Ended the day with 1448 calories.

W2D1 is week two day one of the c25k program. It is 8 weeks long and there are three run days a week. I was supposed to do W2D2 this morning, but I did not set my alarm to go off early enough - thanks to the holiday!! I will try to work it in later tonight. It is always harder to run in the evening - but I will do it!

B: crumpets, maple peanut butter

L: chicken salad, crackers, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: DH said he was making burgers

We have the girl tonight - maybe I can get them both to come with me.

DH is bummed because he has to start work next week on third shift - he has been sending out resumes looking for a different job. I would rather him work normal day shift hours with no weekends....like normal people.

Work is work!

Have a great evening!

If you have a computer / laptop you can play the CD's (especially if you have good speakers attached) but you'll prob be able to hear nice even with the regular computer / laptop internal speakers. also, you can take a CD to your car...I have one in mine, actually. But if your car is new, it may not have a CD player either! haha.

Organizing is nice! I feel like whenever i organize, things get messy right away again after!

Unlike you, my body is really attuned to exercise in the evening, so that's not a problem, but, it is harder to stick to the plan if you are really busy that day and then need the energy to exercise also. .... either way, if you schedule it in, you are good to go!

proud of you for the jogging. I am now getting into it more, too. I have already noticed i am getting better, just by jogging 1x a month for one month!

Now i'm moving into 2x a week walk / jog. I am excited that i'm getting better!!!! Have you noticed this with yourself too?

innerpeace on 05/31/2017:
kinda, i have little areas that don't feel right and then I have times I have a hard time breathing. I just think of the time I used to run everyday 4-6 miles and now I have to run in 1 minute increments to get better. Hopefully I will stick with it.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 05/31/2017:
I'm also learning to run after an extended time not running so i understand how it feels really weird, yes.

Friday I left work early...because - came home and waited for DH to get back with the girl. No plans this night.

Saturday DH made bacon and waffles for breakfast and then we headed out to Chagrin Falls for the Blossom Festival. NOt a lot to see but we had fun going. On the way back we stopped at the Grafton Firemen's festival and played a few games of bingo. The girl wasn't feeling well so we stayed home the rest of the evening.

SUnday was up early and did tne  W2D1 run and then mowed the grass. Did a lot around the house and then watched it rain for a few hours. The Indians did get to finish their game...and they won!

Had pretty good calories and was rather active...

FRIDAY - 1396

SUNDAY - 1176 - the girl went home about 6:00 but the YA showed up with his nasty mouth.

I am down in the family room minding my business and it seems like DH cannot sit in the living room alone. So he comes down and then the YA comes down along with his nasty mouth and I am still in the same place I was. I guess I should like this, but sometimes, I feel like my space is being invaded in my own home. Maybe i'm just in a pissy mood today, I don't know, but I'm going downstairs to do fold laundry...think they'll follow me down there, probably not!

Have a great Memorial Day!

Your hair = really nice color and length. you look great....i hope you continue the good work, it's paying off for you 100% !!!!!! I see it!

What does W2D1 stand for?

It was partially rainy here on the weekend but it didn't affect my plans at all. Luckily the only time it really rained a lot was Monday morning & i'm just so glad it wasn't at night when i was in New York City walking around! Mother Nature did her job and luckily all in good timing! haha...

You just wanted your alone time - and alone time can be important. Don't even blame yourself, you just wanted some personal, quiet time. Just be happy that they'd want to come by you! haha. Keep up the great work & have a nice SHORT WEEK.

Last night DH made salsibury steak. wth boiled potates and salad. Ended the day with 1450 calories. I had a yogurt after. DH took the girl to her counseling appointment and I sat and listend to the young adult talk about cars...that's so exhausting sometimes.

Was up at 5:15 and did week 1 day 3. It is so much easier for me to run in the morning, I guess I have more energy but it was definately easier. It started raining half way through - it was quiet refreshing. I thought about calling DH to come and get me, but his phone is on do not disturb until 6:00 and he wouldn't have heard it, so I kept running/walking. My back is a little tight this afternoon, but nothing so bad as I can't stand it.

A few festivals this weekend depending on the weather.

Monday night DH and I went to the camp meeting, what a waste of time. And the fact that parents walk in 10-15 minutes late and the lady starts all over with the information didn't help.

We ate mexican food. I had some pork roast, beans and pico, ate three flour tortillas, they were abour 3 inches, ate small abouts of chips and salsa. Ended the night with 1658 calories.

Tuesday I left work early...just because. Went home mowed the grass and planted some flowers. I had plans to get up and do my c25k, however, I did not get up and instead was trying to find every excuse NOT to go when DH said to go. He was cooking dinner and said dinner would be ready when I got back. So I strated off on my way...people lots of people out and about - way out of my comfort zone here. Finally I just told myself at least I'm doing something good for myself so they can stare at the fat lady jogging down the road if they want.

It was a big longer than day one, so I had to run around another block, the key is I did it! I just have the fear of this being so painful and it really hasn't been. I do know that after mowing that I was seriously tired afterwards and I definately like running better in the morning, knowing this, hopefully I will be able to get up easier tomorow.

DH cooked steak, caulflower and salad, ended the day with 1720 calories - a little high but the steak was good.

AC man coming today to check out the AC - glad DH is home, he goes back to work on  6/5/17.

Ready for the three day weekend.

Have a great night!

So my weekend - Saturday dropped car off for an oil change - went to numerous garage sales. Helped DH clean out the shed - donated some stuff to Good Will Not sure where the day went. Calories 1358.

Sunday was up early with plans to start the C25K. I sat on my bed and contemplated every reason why I should stay in bed. I even went so far as taking everything out of the armoire to refold. I just did not want to face this. I dreaded it! I went downstiars and DH was cooking bacon so I decided I wanted to eat breakfast. DH says, it will be here when you get back - my heart sank and I begrudgingly put on my shoes and moped for a minute and remember... I made a plan to have it completed by July 28th and if I didn't get it started I wouldn't get it done.

I started it and to tell the truth it wasn't all that bad and for the first time, since I can't remember nothing on my body hurt. I did Day1 of the program and will do Day 2 tomorrow. I hope nothing starts hurting.

When I get back I had bacon and blue berry waffles (made from the grill I bought at a garage sale for $2.00- well worth it). AFter breakfast I watched two episodes of Law and Order, tried to do the crossword puzzle it was hard this weekend. I washed the windows, started laundry. Swept and mopped the floors and still was OK. Ended the day with 1422 calories.

This morning though, my thighs are a little sore, I took Aleve and should be better soon. I will have to mow tonight if the grass has dried out.

B: pancakes, turkey sausage, iced tea

L: chicken salad, apple, pretzel/crackers

S: balanced breaks

D: Mexican food

We have a parent meeting at the Y for the girl's summer camp tonight and have plans to eat out.

Sounds like a really active weekend, IP! And great cals – I find when I’m active, I tend to do just as well with calories or better than when I’m home all day snackin’ out of my kitchen!

Yes goals are like your couch to 5k one – the can only be completed if we tackle them step by step and do the whole process leading up to them. Yuppers. Good mindset you have there. Glad it’s getting easier, IP.

Greats cals. If you are sore, aleve is good (I should consider this myself!)…and rest. You are doing GREAT!

Yesterday I took the day off from work and spent it with my DH. We arrived at the ID office and finally after being married for almost three years, I have finally gotten him the military dependent ID card...I guess I will keep him around for awhile.

After we went to my old workplace and visited my old boss and co-workers. They are amazing and I miss them all so much. The atmosphere and togetherness are so missed in my new work place. We then went to eat lunch, had a delicious roast beef sandwich. Then we went to the museum of natural history. Had a great time until the field trip kiddos showed up. And we even got in free with my military ID! On the way home we stopped at three different salon places to see if we could get a pedicure but it seems everyone in a fifty mile radius also wanted said pedicure. Finally we stopped at a store and bought the girl some shorts and summer clothes...if she doesn't like them, I will return them next week. and then we went home. And ate the leftovers from lunch for dinner. Ended the day with 1462 calories.

DH and the YA went to home depot while I mowed the front yard and when they returned I planted some flowers to replace some that were frosted out last week. THen I walked me dog. Lately we have been spending a lot of time out side.

It was my intention to get up this AM and start my C25K but that didn't happen. I will try tonight...if not tonight, tomorrow morning and it will even be cooler.

Have a good night!

Hello IP! Glad you got the time in to take care of the ID card for DH. Why did you change workplaces, I forget? Yes, I do know that atmosphere in workplaces can change based on both the coworkers and administration a lot! ;-)

Where is the museum that you went to? What city? Sorry you guys got trampled on by kiddos lol I am sure groups come there a lot this time of year – I feel like our field trips were always more in the Springtime than the Fall or Winter…

Even though you didn’t start your exercise this AM, you were active. So that is an accomplishment of being outdoors and doing that kind of work. Have a wonderful night!

innerpeace on 05/22/2017:
I changed because the university I was working for was state and they did not count my military time. I also had to drive to downtown Cleveland everyday, in traffic, bad weather and the distance.

I went back to the Weather Service (federal) job, I left the Weather service in OK to move to Ohio and was hired at the university. It was a good job and I would still be there if I didn't land the weather service.

Now I get 8 hours a pay period (16 hours a month) annual leave versus 6.2 a month at the university. Sick leave was 8 hours a month at both places. I also only have to drive 1/2 as far and I can include my military time. It was all of these reasons mostly...I get paid more too, but that wasn't a factor. The good think at the university - they had snow days. Here at the weather service I have to work regardless.

The people are great at CSU and I miss them.

The Natural History Museum of Cleveland it was in downtown Cleveland. I think most of the kids were on field trip day - last fun before school is out.

I have paved so many roads with good intentions...

Still logging food and not eating well at all. I had a sweet attack over the weekend and blew calories out of the water...

5/12 - I left work early and we went to Olive Garden for Mother's Day - should not have 3036 calories

5/13 - started the day off with a 3 mile hike and then went on a drive it yourself tour of Geauga county - 1364 - this is the first time since I've had a fitbit that I actually walked over 10,000 steps

5/14 - yard work and a big fat steak for dinner and more sweets - 3146

5/15 - Monday was super busy at work and didn't make time to write in the journal because some days I just don't want to reituerate to myself the fact that I haven't been doing what I'm supposed to be doing. - 1262

DH said we should go to bed early so I could get up to exercise...OK. Couldn't get up so guess what, I will just keep trying. I know I can, I just have to get my mind set straight. I was looking at the calendar and need to jump on the C25K train if I'm going to make my 5K goal by my birthday. I will see what happens tomorrow morning or maybe tonight.

We do have a hike scheduled tonight #2 of 10 for the hiking stick badge.

B: toast, peanut butter, ice tea

lol, i got an email that you commented, but there's no comment :( i gotta write to you later...busy work day lol....

stay well IP!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 05/16/2017:
Do not worry, IP, even at slightly over 3,000 cals, you can GET BACK ON TRACK as soon as you can. You can always fix up a mistake! Weight is a variable and forever it’ll vary so do not worry that the damage you did is ever going to be permanent as it need not be ! :- P

If it makes you feel better, lately I was eating more also. Maybe change of seasons or more stress…I have been giving in but this time I notice it & notice I have to stop! Lol. I can feel myself entering poor patterns now…and reverting back to old habits…when this happens I try to drink sugarfree drinks or caffeine instead of extra sweets. I am trying to also stay ahead of the game, not go back to all bad habits. It’s always easier to go back to a habit because even if it’s unhealthy, the bad habits are ingrained in our brains as the way to act first…breaking the habit and new habits we teach that are healthier are not as ingrained…we must force ourselves sometimes not to accidentally play into the old habits! So hard!

I will say in my opinion, sleep is most important over exercise. I have had breakdowns due to lack of sleep. Those sucked. No sleep bc my hours were too long at work, I had no life balance….that’s done now, thankfully.

How does the lean cuisine Panini taste? Is it at all like one? I never tried those.

Donkey on 05/17/2017:
I love when you say, "I will just keep trying". Yep, keep trying, do not give up. If you keep actively & consciously trying, eventually it will click.
