So the new refrigerator was delivered.

DH woke up when the eye glasses placed called and told him his glasses were ready, and then he goes and gets the girl and then was at home to get the refrigerator. All of this was done before I get home. When I get home DH takes the girl to the dentist...two cavities!! And then the chicken wasn't thawed so he stopped at McDonald's on the way home. Not my favorite.

Then the YA comes over and he is upset because him and his mother are getting into it. He says that the mother even told him to get out of his sister's life. What on earth is wrong with this woman? I have never known someone to drive people away from each other the way she does. I thought mother's wanted their children to get along and be happy, apparently not this woman! Anyway, he gets so upset he can't sleep. Hoping he finds comfort soon.

Also praying my DH gets the job he interviewed for, they are supposed to make a decision today or tomorrow. Really would like for him to be back on day shift.

Was up at 4:50 and went on my Week 4 Day 2 c25K run/walk. It was humid and sticky and not my best day, but I finished and feel good about it.

B: toast with hazel nut spread, iced vanilla latte

L: roast beef sandiwich, cheezits, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: quarter pounder, frenchfries

S: ding dong

ended the day with 1918 calories - no thanks to McDonalds!!

DH went to bed, the girl's mother picked her up at 8:20 and the the YA left about 9:00. I watched baseball!

B: toast, hazel nut spread, iced vanilla latte

S: banana

L: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich, cheezits, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: something with chicken!

Have a great night!

Well done - and maintaining, no matter what comes your way. Good job!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/15/2017:
yeah, you have such a great affect with the girl / on the girl that she was trying to jog even without you - that's a credit and that shows how great you are as a role model!!!!!! be darn proud IP, you always impress me!

So keep up the great work, McD's is not an everyday occurance...sometimes a treat goes a long way :)

keep up the great work, train with her...she'll be fine. just make sure not to overdo!

The girl did try to do first day of c25k, however, DH said she started out sprinting, which she shouldn't have done and then couldn't finish. Maybe I will help her, I don't know. I'm sick of her playing both sides of the fence. It really makes me sick and I doubt i will ever believe anything she ever tells me.I get aggravated that DH would rather go pick up the girl than sleep. Seriously! I guess I'll just let him run hisself in the ground just so he can go pick up his precious brat...and then fall asleep while I'm sitting there with her! How fair is that?

I have good days and bad days, good months and bad months when it comes to his kids. They are irritating and manipulative and sometimes i  would prefer not to even be around them. And then I find myself comparing them to my kid and I just don't get it! We have two interns here in the office and god forbid they have to submit a piece of paperwork twice...or their mentor is saying poor kids, woe are they, they had to fill out the same form twice and they are so great they shouldn't be put through this torture. I'm like seriously shaking my head an wondering when I was put on the entitled, can't do anything for myself, planet!

I stayed up and watched the Cavs lose and was unable to get up to go for the walk/run this morning. Hopefully I can get up tomorrow and get it done.

Last night DH made a roast in the crock pot, it was pretty good. Ended the night with 1646 calories.

Not sure what's for dinner tonight, but the new refrigerator is supposed to be delivered and the girl has a dental appointment ! I know her gums are red and inflamed I doubt she brushes at her mom's house and I just know she probably isn't told to do it, because I mean she's 12 and has to be told to do EVERYTHING....EVERYTHING, like use toilet paper, go blow your nose, flush the toilet and oh...brush your teeth! She has came so far as to decide when she wants to take a shower though, so there's that!

Anyway, still venting from the weekend! I can only pray for things to get better! Have a great night! IP

If she can’t finish the jog, let her walk. There’s no need to give up. The girl needs you to help instruct / motivate her because it’s NOT easy to get into running especially if you are a little bit heavier (talking about the girl) because it’s extra weight you have to run around with making it harder. She’s probably having a bit of a struggle obviously with her running….yes, you have to help her. Explain to her that when she’s running and feels like she needs to stop, to stop but walk….not stop fully. this is how I do it…and then go back to running after she gets her breath back. She’ll be able to run longer and longer as she practices.

This is why kids need adults…

Now keep up the GREAT work IP…and your cals look quite GREAT. Stay strong & carry on!

innerpeace on 06/14/2017:
I didn't go. I was at home mowing and DH and the girl went. He was walking the dog and she wanted to do it by herself.

I will go with her next time and help her.

happy-1 on 06/14/2017:
Just chiming in.. the most embarrassing thing when I run is all my belly fat moving around like Jello in front of me... Baywatch boob bounce... but in the wrong spot. Horrifying. Old Navy compression tights in a tall size and a Spanx tank top really help keep that which should not bounce up and down when I run from flying about.

Saturday I started out in a good mood...but dealing with an insulant tween kinda pissed me off. So DH is due home around 9:00 so I start cooking breakfast about 8:30 - sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes...and I put it on the table. Right before everything is finished I'm telling the girl to get up. When she gets up, she brings down a blanket and lays on the couch. Seriously??? So I asked her if she was going to eat? Her reply. I'll eat when we get home. Right....so she has this TWEEN plan that once we get out and about she will get something from McDonalds. I tell her, I'm not gonna cook when we get home. I sit down and eat because I'm pissy and DH shold have been home by now because it only takes 20 minutes for a normal driver to get home. I think DH finally pulls in about 9:15....really it takes him 45 minutes to drive 20...I take the back roads just in case...Yeah OK whatever, I know he has driving isuse. Finally the girl comes and eats, but I'm still kind of PO'd. We go to a community wide garage sale. It was hot and uncomfortable and I was happy to get back to the AC.

I made spaghetti for dinner, which was only just OK, not sure it was what I wanted, but it was quick and easy.

DH makes comment about my c25K and then the girl hears and says I want to go....Uh, I'm thrilled she wants to do it, BUT I don't want to do it with her! I was doing this for ME, its my alone time. Seriously I can't even go to the bathroom upstairs without her following me. I close the bedroom door to get dressed. She knocks. Flattered, but NO! And to top it off this girl cannot stand to be dirty, so how on earth is she going to be hot and sweaty? HOpefully we can find a solution, but until then. I was up at 6:00 am and did week 4 Day 1 of the program, and I'm telling you I never knew 4 minutes lasted so long! I am just glad it is finished for the day.

laundry, mowing

And this weekend's conversation - Bruno Mars hoodie/tshirt, apparently her mother is moving and her new bedroom is a hobbit hole - (small in size) I have heard about both ad nausem!  And it is stil early on Sunday so I can guess what today will bring! I told DH today, she will wake up on her own, because I DO NOT want to subject myself to this attitudy person.

Justing venting!

Have a great Sunday!

awww....sorry girl is impinging on your alone time as i know how it good it feels to be alone (i do it like my whole life duh!)....

it is very good for her to get into regular exercise though. i like that she wants to be with you....i like that she wants to jog. it can change her life, she can be fit.

there was a whole show on Bruno Mars my mom told me about it on tv last night which is cool as she told me bc she knew i went to see his concert a few summers back!

lol....sounds like a lot of extra words coming your way from those youngins with attitudes !

Wednesday I pick up the girl, it was her last day of school. She made honor roll. So pleased and hope this willingness to learn stays with her until after college. We went out to celebrate. HOP hopefully you can see my color and I got about 2 inches cut off. I had to get the grey covered  up.

DH had another interview yesterday, I sure hope he gets this job. I hate, hate him working nights. And another thing I hate is just when I am trying to get ahead in life, something else comes along and says...oh no, not today my friend. The refrigerator is going our again. This will be the third time, so instead of having someone come out and look at it, DH and I decided to just go and buy another one. Not really what I had planned for Thursday night but it is done. The new refrigerator should be delivered on Tuesday. After buying the thing we then go to eat at Applebee's...again not planned but...conveinient.

This morning I was up and finished Week 3 Day 3 of the C25K. I felt so good this morning, that I was actually do it...my legs are a bit sore this morning and back is tender, but this will go away in a few days...as has been the norm since the start of this program. Not eating the best though...last night that ice cream that was in the basement made its way up into the freezer. (the freezer is still working find, however, the top refrigerator is not cooling for anything!!

Hi IP! Yes – I love your new color! That is so great girlie did well in her classes! Way to go! I really do LOVE your blonde color. It’s a hot color right now right!?

That’s very inconvenient indeed with the fridge, sorry! That is money….inconveniently spent but you have to nonetheless so sorry! I hope this new fridge lasts a long, long time! I hope at least you got some deal on it!?

Hey…it’s ok to not always eat great but try not to get into cycles of continuously doing this as part as your routine. I’m also requiring some work in this dept again. I am eating much more…and need to reign it back in a little bit. But weirdly, I am not gaining weight says the scale!? But I feel like I have. Weird feeling lately.

overall, your cals are GREAT! Hope your team wins!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/09/2017:

I hope that one of these interviews comes through for your husband. My husband worked nights for 5 years. Very difficult on our family and married life.

I hear you about life not letting you get ahead. Shall I tell you about the year that I got a new garage door for Christmas? And the year after that, I had to get a new oven door for Christmas?

After work I did go and get my hair colored and cut a little. DH was up when I got home - he should have cooked - but didn/t I don't know why? (I guess I'm just used to him doing this)

He put out cubed steak to thaw. I made chicken fried steak, small miniture potatoes and green beans. After dinner he tries to go and get a few more hours of sleep. I eat some strawberries, blueberries and a few walnuts.  The whole time I hear the ice creem down stairs in the freezer calling out my name - but this night...THIS NIGHT I successfully ignored it!.

DH left about 10:45 and I sat up until about 11:30 - I couldn't get to sleep. I did get up about 5:10 and did the Week3 day 2 this morning and felt pretty good about it.

DH has another interview today...very excited for him.

I have to get the girl today - not excited for me!

DH didn't take anything out for dinner! Will have to pick something up!

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

S: yogurt

L: cheezits, apple

Let's see an update of the cut & color!!!!!! Love when people make changes! it's good for us to not stay in a habit and sometimes change is good for the mind and body is my belief!

lol to your chicken fried steak again! now i've heard you use that expression before!!

your potatoes and string beans sound delicious with it...i roasted some cabbage last night myself to eat with my lunch (now i do roast at home - like i always wanted to - i've learned and do well with it now!)... and your snack of berries / nuts is a GOOD IDEA - never thought of it actually....filling fibrous strawberries low cal mixed with nuts is such a GOOD IDEA...i may have to do this myself!!!!!! excellent idea!

you can always do ice cream with berries too....if you feel the need to indulge in some ice cream.

My whole world has changed and I cannot get back on a schedule I can handle. DH went back to work last night and i was alone and heard every creak and pop in the house, the dog woke me up barking and then i couldn't back to sleep. I lived alone for 15 years and I never knew how much better I slept when someone was beside me.

Anyway, since DH is on thrid shift I am cooking and making my lunch now - again - things I used to do - but now don't - makes it very hard to get back into the groove of things.

Saturday went with DH to get eyeglasses and we ate out of Arby's.

Sunday did the week 3 day 1 of the c25K was ok, it was a little humid. Went to Sandusky to shop and would up at Sonic. I ate a chili dog!

Monday - I had a dentist appointment and for the first time in I don't know how long - I have a freaking cavity! Really? No my tooth doesn't hurt and NO it's not sentifive - No it's not giving me any problems!! It won't do or be all that until you FIX it! I detest the dentist!

Tuesday I am thinking of getting the gray colored out of my hair - it sure has exploded throughout!. I used the excuse that I was too tired to get up and do Day 2 of week three, if I don't do it tonight, I will do it tomorrow!

FRI - 1303

Hi IP! Thank gosh you wrote an entry bc nobody besides myself has written since the 3rd!!!! JK – but happy to have some good reading material for my afternoon here at work…so let me get to reading your entry!.... I am sorry you are busing DH so much! But you will get used to it I know! Have some faith in the process and the changes and you will get used to this over a few weeks. You know that all the changes take time to get used to. I know you will be alright. Sorry about DH back at work – but this is a necessary thing! With the food making, maybe do it all on Sunday or most on Sunday or half the week on Sunday so that you don’t have to do it all the time. I admit I do most of my prep on weekend and then again in the middle of the week, but I pack the stuff in the AM….works for me but I have no girl or anyone else to manage….You may do better even packing it all at once on the weekend? just a suggestion, not sure if it’ll work for you individually… Who got glasses, both of you? You remind me to get some now…actually, I’ll wait on purpose until December right before the NYPD academy since I need them for seeing things like the board / smartboard. They don’t really sell any chilli dogs in this neck of the woods…NY State haha…

Yeah, agreed, dentists know how to lie and manipulate and do work that’s not even needed. At least it’s usually not out of our pockets but rather insurance more or less….usually.

Great cals and keep on with your fantastic exercise! Good planning for it!

Get home and DH has the girl. They go to her doctor's appointment. She has an ear infection and they want to give her a immunization shot. She cries. DH sends a picture telling me she is upset because she has to get a shot. She is 12...not 4 or 5. She is mad when she gets home. The YA stopped over and DH brings pizza. It is OK. I can control myself around pizza. I ended the night with 1648 calories.

The girl has an attitude and the YA annoys me, gladly the girl leaves at 8:00 and the YA shortly after. DH was trying to stay up later preparing for the night shift.

His job interview went well he said, hopefully he will get selected and will get back on the first shift. Another company called him and if selected he would have to take a pay cut, but anything is better than working the nightshift and working the weekends!

B: pillsbury packaged pancakes, turkey sausage

L: left over pizza, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: pork chop, quinoa and roasted vegetables and something I didn't understand DH say.

Was up this morning and finished week 2 day 3 of the C25K. The first interval always feels yuck, but the next one not so bad. Hoping I stick with this. Knees kind of hurt this morning, so I took some Aleve.

No too many plans this weekend, so it should be nice and relaxing, besides the yard work

Have a great weekend! IP

My husband was working the night shift for several years. Very taxing on his body, and on our family life. Considering he has an auto-immune disease, I told him that day shift would be one less battle his body is fighting. I hope your husband gets the job (either one), because you're right -- it's worth a cut in pay to have better hours. Quality of life says a lot.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/05/2017:
Good Morning IP!

Ah, I can understand her being upset bc of the shot. She needs to reminded that she needs it because it’s for health reasons and that everyone does…..She needs your hubby rooting for her / talking to her to distract her. Sorry….my sister was always a big baby with the shots too, even at 12.

Lol – that is a LOT of annoyances with boy (YA) and girl. Lol lol. SORRY IP! It’ll get better. and the annoyances don’t last forever, thankfully. Forever like 24/7 I mean.

If your knee hurts, give it rest until it feels better and just stretch / do alternate exercises that don’t hurt. Let it heal. It’s prob from a bit of overuse, but will get better as you get stronger. I know from experience.

Excellent calories and so nice to see roasted veggies on your menu!

Got home - DH made a nice salad with chopped grilled chicken. It was nice and light. Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen. He has a rental truck until Monday (his truck is being fixed from the pole he backed  into a few weeks ago and knocked off his bumper. I drove it. It is nice, but I wouldn't get rid of my Buick for it.  I had a small sundae at DQ ending the day with 1411.

Had a dermatology appointment today, hopefully my face will get better, it has been descent the last month. The girl has a well-child checkup this evening, DH will take her.

He said he did OK on his interview, probably won't hear anything until next week. It is further, but hopefully they would treat him better.

No plans tonight - GO CAVS!

Your salad sounds good! Nowadays, after a salad like that, I tend to much on a few carbs (chips) after the salad to feel satisfied. Or you can snack on popcorn also - i like the orville single serve butter tasting one - it's 160 calories per bag! nice! (it says 200 cal unpopped, weird....and popped 160 cal)....just a suggestion. you can also make your own popcorn (i should!) so much healthier...

oh nice, small sundae after your delicious dinner sounds perfecto! I also enjoy frozen yogurt and milk dessert products although many health folks don't recommend them...i enjoy...and they tend to be low cal ones that the stores all are starting to stock their freezers with....and of course i could learn to make my own...not yet. But I do have a blender to use.

I wish the girl a good check-up...and for you...my skin has a lot to do with stress...keep up the good work, your skin looks good in your photos, you know!

where's your veg? lol....sounds like you ran out of veg or maybe you aren't listing it the veg part?

ENjoy your Friday IP and stay happy!

DH cooked burgers last night. Both the girl and the YA were over. They talk and talk and talk. I am never rude and ask them to stop. I have asked the YA to quit cursing so much, but it is a waste of breath. I will just keep trying.

I didn't get the W2D2 in last night, but I did get up and do it this morning. Felt ok, had a few places where I thought I had a cramp in my foot and a few places when i thought my knee was hurting and then of course the usual tight back. Today I even had issues breathing during one increment and had to tell myself I was fine, "I would live and everything was good" during the walking portion. I may be running slowly but I am doing it and not stopping.

DH called and told me he has an interview set up for tomorrow at 10:00 at another business. He just does not want to work 3rd shift. I don't blame him...I hope it works out either way.

B: crumpetts, maple peanut buttler

L: left over hamburger patty, baby bell cheese

DH did not give me an apple today, i miss it.

No big plans tonight...DH said chicken salad, will see what this is.

I think it's great you remind him not to curse because it DOES SOUND BAD! I have a couple coworkers that curse, it's just totally in their vocabulary and they are very used to talking that way. I started to hear it so much that i started to do it. Now i've stopped - because i don't see purpose in using that type of sour vocabulary. but once you start, it can be fixed, but you need to have a different vocabulary word in your mind to replace it with...like instead of F*ck - he can use Fudge. i don't know....he needs new habits.

yes, keep on with the exercise - if you get a cramp at least stop and stretch the area.

EXCELLENT EATING, lady! keep up the great work. and where's your veggies? tired of them?

talk soon - good luck to your hubby at his interview!!! let us know.

Spend a great Monday at home doing odd jobs around the house - finished a dresser I chalk painted. Started taking all the CDs out of the jewel cases and putting them in a disc sleeve notebook. I forgot how many CDs I had...and I have no CD player that works in my house. Walked the dog and watched the Indians and finished laundry. DH cooked ribs - they were just ok, not in the mood for ribs. Ended the day with 1448 calories.

W2D1 is week two day one of the c25k program. It is 8 weeks long and there are three run days a week. I was supposed to do W2D2 this morning, but I did not set my alarm to go off early enough - thanks to the holiday!! I will try to work it in later tonight. It is always harder to run in the evening - but I will do it!

B: crumpets, maple peanut butter

L: chicken salad, crackers, apple

S: balanced breaks

D: DH said he was making burgers

We have the girl tonight - maybe I can get them both to come with me.

DH is bummed because he has to start work next week on third shift - he has been sending out resumes looking for a different job. I would rather him work normal day shift hours with no weekends....like normal people.

If you have a computer / laptop you can play the CD's (especially if you have good speakers attached) but you'll prob be able to hear nice even with the regular computer / laptop internal speakers. also, you can take a CD to your car...I have one in mine, actually. But if your car is new, it may not have a CD player either! haha.

Organizing is nice! I feel like whenever i organize, things get messy right away again after!

Unlike you, my body is really attuned to exercise in the evening, so that's not a problem, but, it is harder to stick to the plan if you are really busy that day and then need the energy to exercise also. .... either way, if you schedule it in, you are good to go!

proud of you for the jogging. I am now getting into it more, too. I have already noticed i am getting better, just by jogging 1x a month for one month!

Now i'm moving into 2x a week walk / jog. I am excited that i'm getting better!!!! Have you noticed this with yourself too?

innerpeace on 05/31/2017:
kinda, i have little areas that don't feel right and then I have times I have a hard time breathing. I just think of the time I used to run everyday 4-6 miles and now I have to run in 1 minute increments to get better. Hopefully I will stick with it.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 05/31/2017:
I'm also learning to run after an extended time not running so i understand how it feels really weird, yes.
