Weight: 306.0

Friday was a crap day at work.

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

L: ham and cheese sandwich, cheezits

S: balanced breaks

D: malt-o-meal

(i was crabby and didn't want to go out and eat - so we stayed home) DH had a sandwich I opted for malt-o-meal.

Weekend went by so fast. Saturday I was home alone. I relish this time, however, I enjoy sitting around doing nothing at all. DH woke up at 4:30 and he said something to the dog and it woke me up. So we are both up at 4:30. He goes to work and I fall asleep in the recliner and wake up at 10:00. I don't think I have slept until 10:00 since I've been to Ohio. Lots of football was watched by me.

B: malt-o-meal

L: cheezits

D: roast beef stew. I made stew in the crock pot and my house smelled good all day.

Sunday, DH and I decided to drive to Sandusky to shop at a Meijers store they have. It was similar to Wal-Mart and Big K but different (They had five rows of shelves of different bread - so much) and so overwhelming. We stopped at Ryan's buffet and then went back home. I had a big salad, a piece of steak, a small portion of dressing, mac and cheese, carrots and a piece of cheese cake. DH has been holding back on the sweets to keep his blood sugar in check before the surgery. I am so proud of him and this makes it so much easier for me as well. We get home and I bathe my dog with some oatmeal calming shampoo, the poor thing has been itching like crazy. I have checked him for pests and fleas, but he has nothing. The trainer said he could be allergic to the leaves. I have given him allovert and along with the bath this has kinda helped. I will give him another bath on Wednesday.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

L: Ryan's buffet

D: skipped

S: yogurt

I was up at 3:00 last night with a pounding headache. Sometimes I think my head is going to explode. I got up and took some alleve, stayed up about 45 minutes and went back to bed. I didn't want to get back up at 5:30 when the alarm when off, but I did.

At work I was looking over benefit brochures and flyers and found I could be enrolled in a health club benefit for $25 dollars a month and this allows me to use many different facilities in my area every month. It's amazing the stuff  you find out when you actually look at it. This is sure a big difference from $88 per month at the Y. But then the benefit stuff is usually stressful and irritating as the three pimples on my face is proof. Unbelieveable!

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

L: ham and cheese sandwich, cheezits (which I learned has MSG so I will not be buying cheezits anymore after these are gone), tangerine

D: DH decided he wasn't cooking so we are opting for the subway again.

I hope tomorrow is a brighter day! Have a great evening! IP

i also enjoy that quiet, peaceful alone time at home just chilling. yesterday though i was even too tired to chill - all i could do was eat and then decided if i was really going to be unproductive as that, i might as well take a sleeping pill and get some needed sleep. i did it, i guess it worked. just a tad tired today too.

Tuesday night I picked up DH and we got the girl. Once we got home the girl went for the showers and I started the sides. I made mashed cauliflower, spinach, sliced tomotoes and dressing. This is what I ate. DH and the girl ate the chicken. It was satisfying. I helped the girl with some homework, she left and I walked the dog. At dinner i was already planning to not go to work on Wednesday.

Wednesday comes around and I call into work. I did have a minor headache but nothing to miss work from. I just didn't feel like going a mental health day if you will.

B: peanut butter and jelly sandwich

L: cheezits and DDP

DH gets home about 2:30 and asks me to go to the diabetes doctor with him, so I go, hoping this won't be a three hour time waste again. We were out by 4:00 and he learns he will have to wait a few months before he gets his surgery scheduled - he is bummed, was kinda hoping he could get this done over the holidays so it will be early next year now. He was told he must get his blood sugar under better control. He doesn't consistly check it, so he will need to do that the next three weeks. Anyway, for dinner we got to a Mexican restaurant. I had flautas with shredded chicken, beans, and some salsa. Minimal chips and I gave DH one of the flautas with ground beef in it. We get home and I walk my dog...I just love him so much.

This morning...crazy things happen at work, do not want to be her this day. But getting lots done and finally finshed the inventory and passed it to the higher headquarters. Getting the girl this evening...no other plans. DH took the elk meat out for dinner.

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

S: breakfast bar

L: ham and cheese sandwich, cheezits

S: balanced breaks

And today I think I'm dealing with emotional issues. My son turns 30 today and OMG I just feel so old and I am missing him terribly.

Have a great evening! IP

nice job eating all your veggies. adding a little chicken may make it more satisfying and better for your nutrition as some protein is important. I hope the girl starts to like all these veggies....you are lucky you like them! i love them toO!

i am glad at least your hubby has the surgery scheduled. :)

work is work...haha.

I get DH and we go home, sometimes I can't get home fast enough. I walk my dog and DH finally got some propane so he is grilling porkchops. They were good, but again, I feel as if we eat entirely too much meat. My mother even said this when she was visiting, but I didn't pay any mind to it then. DH took out chicken for dinner this morning, I told him to only take out one chicken and him and the girl can eat it, I will eat something else.

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

L: 1/2 ham and cheese sandwich, cheezits, a few pretzels

S: balanced breaks

D: porabello mushroom, spinach (for now)

We have the girl today, she is so taxing sometimes. I will get through this...after I walk my dog.

Have a great night! IP

I feel that my family eats way too much meat as well, but it has been difficult for us to eliminate it completely from our meals. I try to eat less but I definitely need protein in my meal or things get funky. I know that there are non-meat sources of protein, just haven't quite figured out how to incorporate that into EVERY dinner.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 11/16/2016:
the amount of meat for a portion is def small - only the size of the palm of your hand! not including your fingers! so yeah, i wouldn't enjoy eating a pork chop either...your portobella idea with spinach sounds nice!!!!!! maybe over a little bit of a grain? to balance it...i would get bloated if i only ate those veg without a few chips or something with them for balancing out all the water / fiber...?

...or maybe i'm just weird!

would girl like to walk with you? it's good exercise! she needs walking also. it's extremely important for her.

Friday a much needed holiday. DH worked - and he always, always makes me feel bad when I have the day off and he doesn't. It's not my fault he works for a crappy company who doesn't recognize all holidays only the major ones.

I sat around, washed dishes, swept, mopped and just relaxed. I did go get the girl at 4:30. DH was working until 7:00. This was our eat out night and I didn't want to go out at 8:00 pm so we brought in Taco Bell.

Saturday - DH was up at 5:30 to get to work, this was his last day to work his twelve hour shift. The girl and I did errands and I registered her for a beginning sewing class at noon. I took her to the class and watched OU play on the iPad until she was finished - well she didn't finish her project, but the class was over, matter of fact it ran over about an hour.  She said her grandma could help her finish it. She was just starving so I stopped at McDonald's for her. Afterwards we go to a few more stores and then get home after 5:30. I had thrown a pot roast in the crockpot, so we waited for DH to get home before we ate.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

L: skipped

D: roast, salad, green beans

Sunday - DH and the girl left to go pick up a few items shopping. I did laundry and started watching movies and I was drawn in the rest of the day. These were movies I had not seen before. Adjustment Bureau, Wanted, Divergence and Edge of Tomorrow - I liked all of them for different reasons.

B: donut, iced vanilla latte

L: cheezits

D: steak, salad, corn

S: slice of pumpkin roll

People at work was talking about meat and all it's grossness. I'm having issues with it again...so who knows. I also read some disturbing information on dairy and that really grosses me out so I may have to make some changes in my food intake. My next trip is in March - so I need to get started now unless I want to be uncomfortable on the plane again.

decisions, decisions. Have a nice night all.

I always think it's strange how some companies are open and some aren't on the holidays. I am a person that likes to see fairness for all..lol..but there's no such a thing as we know! or at least we're in the wrong country i think it would be more socialist...? who knows...

McDonalds is good if you get a garden salad with grilled chicken or so and even a small fries with it...and filling for the girl! just an idea that you can order anywhere and get the veggies in...hope you don't mind my interlude here!

i think it's great you use the crockpot so often. your home must always smell good.

the roast salad and green beans sound really good. nicely done, IP! i would love that meal :-D

glad you had some relax time...i like that too. :)

don't let the people at work get in your head...if you do like meat, it's ok. it's filling. when i am not eating enough protein, i start to actually crave it! and i eat it a bit extra for a day or 2. ok, seriously, enough about me!

where do you plan to go in March? That's pretty soon you know! :) exciting!!!! i want to hear all about it as you know more about it yourself!

In April is my next trip. It's to visit a friend in Miami, FL. So i will pay airfare and stay with her which is a really nice bonus and really a HUGE deciding factor for going. since i do not generally like to spend my savings so hopefully i will not have to on this trip at all.

innerpeace on 11/15/2016:
My trip is back to Oklahoma for my best friend's wedding. I have known her since we were 15. WOW 35 years! She is my sounding board and I love her so much. We met as sophomores in high school in driver's education.

She has always struggled with fitting in with the right people and described herself as a round peg fitting into a square hole. It wasn't until about five years ago that she realized she was a lesbian and had a very difficult time with this.

I had a girl I worked with who I thought would be a good companion for her because she was a lesbian too, however, when I introduced them the first time, they were in very different places in their life and nothing ever happened. I wasn't looking for anything to happen, I just wanted my friend to talk to the girl and hopefully learn about what she was going through.

Jump ahead two years and the two meet again and they have been together ever since (almost four years now). I am a firm believer that things happen in your life when you are ready for them to happen and/or can emotionally and physically handle the situation. Anyway, they have been planning this union for about 18 months and plan to join together on St. Patrick's Day. I am very excited about it.

OMG I have never in my life lived to see a big bunch of grown a$$ people act like babies. This is not the America I know. This, this is what happens when everone gets participation trophies. Everyone who didn't get their way was just spouting love and kindess not 48 hours ago and are now rioting...really PEOPLE grow the EF up! This makes me feel like I gave up 20 years of my life for absolutely nothing!

On onther note, I sat in the waiting room at the surgeon's office for 3 hours! WTF! Went there with DH about 2:15. His appointment was at 2:30. We are still in the waiting room at 3:30 with three others in front of us. My DH finally gets called back about 3:55 and he says he waited in the room for another fifteen minutes. We leave about 5:15. Another man was waiting and was asking the nurse why such a long wait - well what she says really irks me!

M: My appointment was at 2:30, how much longer do you suppose it will be?

N: Well we see so many patients here, and everyone asks can you squeeze me in? So if you come here you have to wait.

M: I can't wait. I have a 7 year old, I own a business and work over 50 hours a week. My appointment was for 2:30 I expect to be seen in a reasonable time.

N: Listen, my husband died about 18 months ago, and at the time I had to decide what was important to me and deal with it, so how important is getting your knee looked at? If it's important enough to you, than I suggest you deal with it!

I am sitting in my chair in utter disgust! This lady, seriously, needs to get an ounce of empathy! The man said, you know what, just cancel my 2:30 appointment and he walks out. I felt bad for him. I was so mad because this apointment was last week but had been rescheduled on Sunday. This nurse call my DH on Sunday prior to original appointment and told him it had to be rescheduled because the doctor was not going to be in the office. So I'm thinking they double booked this day causing this unacceptable delay. It was just awful.

Because we were at the doctor's office, we were late getting the girl and then we just went to the Chinese buffet. I am ok here as I eat lots of vegatables and chicken. Once we get back to the house, the girl takes a shower and I walk the dog. She was gone shortly after.

Today, DH had to work a twelve hour shift to cover for someone with a death in the family. He won't be home until 7:30. I will go home and cook stuff.

sorry you guys had to wait so long. seems this happens sometimes at specialty doctors' offices. does stink for the patients. this happens to me at the derm, but usually an hour wait, not 2. so sorry!

Monday night, i picked up DH and got home. I made grilled chicken - chicken marsala, mashed cauliflower and salad. It was OK - the chicken seemed touch.

DH walked the dog while I cooked, he came home and showered and that was that. It was a quiet evening.

B: yogurt, iced vanilla latte

L: ham, cheese sandwich, cheezits, banana

S: gummy fruit

D: I'm going to make a concoction with grount turkey meat, spinach, cheese and pastry dough...not sure what though.

Still doing inventory at work, I can't find lots of crap - this creates stress.

Have a great night.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 11/09/2016:
I MUST start making more cauliflower! I MUST start roasting veggies! GOOD EATS, IP! Chicken Marsala, not to judge, but sounds a little bit unhealthy bc it's slightly fried and quite saucy...right? but then again, it sounds satisfying with your mashed cauliflower and salad which are really nice sides to the chicken....so maybe i have judged too quickly. overall, sounds like a really nice meal!

i eat a lot of bananas also even though they wreak havoc on my blood sugar. when i eat one, i get a huge appetite like 2 hours later, even if i eat the banana after having some protein and carbs. i might start looking into another approach soon. bananas and i have a love / hate relationship. they are good for me, but i get annoyed at the blood sugar effects of eating them!

same thing for me with anything high sugar like the gummy fruit - i find it VERY hard to manage blood sugar after having anything with excessive carbs, including dessert. just doesn't work well for me - and then for awhile i end up consuming more carbs or have a cravings and desires to consume more carbs....do you get this way?

like, now, when i eat the carbs (like fruit / granola bars), i typically pair them with caffine! bc then i get a sugar rush and follow it up with caffeine which sorta prolongs the rush in a good way - especially if i am having it purposely, which i do, before workouts or before going out to do something more physical...sorry to comment a lot - just trying tell you my own experiences based on some foods you list! :)

i have heard many good things from friends and in general online about ground turkey meat. so healthy. tasty. tasty when flavored well and especially in casseroles. nice idea for dinner, i need to def start cooking more on my own and buying less. would love to cook turkey more. and it's so much healthier than cold cuts at the deli counter.

have a wonderful day...

with work i was reading something, try to realize what you are "giving" at work...meaning, try to forget the idea that you are "only working for a paycheck" and try to think about things you do at work that certainly DO BENEFIT others and the company. many, including myself, have been so dissatisfied with our jobs and we forget why or what the specific importance of the job is that we spend so much time doing, everyday. but, the point of what i was reading was to demonstrate that even the folks that stock store shelves have meaningful jobs - by them organizing and stocking the store, it saves the consumer time and energy in finding what they are looking for while shopping. everyone's job is definitely necessary for one reason or another and it's up to us to decide if we want to notice the meaning....this is what i'm doing.

and trust me, my job is very low in general meaningfulness, but now i'm thankful for the opportunity to figure out how i can make it MORE meaningful....and this includes by being nice and considerate to my coworkers and to try to make people's days better (not worse!). It's to treat people with respect and compassion...and to help those i can...especially friends at work who might need advice.

Additionally, my job is to help my boss and save his time by doing certain tasks on my own and completing them to the best of my ability so that he doesn't have to do those tasks and can finish his estimate faster. so, yea, i just have to do this and do it to my best ability.

Oh the weekend.

Thursday night we left work, picked up the girl and stopped to vote early. I guess I was feeling my heart strings being plucked because I did vote in all the needful things: schools' equipment, police, fire, drug & alcolhol rehab and even a tuburculosis study. I said yes to all the tax increases. I was thinking I would want them to have sufficient facilities in case I would ever need use of them. I told hubby this and he called me crazy...oh well, maybe so.

Friday night I joined my friends for dinner at Famous Dave's BBQ. I loved catching up and gossiping, I haven't done that since I moved here. I ordered the feast for one - minus the potatoes and added a salad. I ate the salad and only the pulled pork, baked beans and coleslaw. I took the corn, ribs and chicken home to DH.

Saturday I was up but really couldn't get motivated to do anything. I did take my dog in to get his nails trimmed...he hated it and tried to bite the lady. DH got home and we had to head out to the play. We stopped at a place similar to Applebees. I had a steak salad and a few fries. The first time we are late for a play...it starts on time. This was a play done by a performing arts school, all the actors were kids. It was cute!

B: toast

L: cheesits

Sunday we were up early, no thanks to the time change. Started laundry early and i did go shopping with DH. Got back and finished laundry and did lots of nothing.

B: toast

L: Sam's pizza slice

D: routisserie chicken, salad and dressing

I told DH I would probably not buy any more tickets because I purchase them so far in advance, I'm afraid what the weather will actually be like on the date of performance. Someone said snow this morning in the briefing. I'm just not ready for that yet.

Hello, Monday! Work is crap today and all people are just stupid! I'm not even sure i can safely get through the rest of the day.

B: yogurt (yoplait pumpkin pie) 90 calories, iced vanilla latte

S: cheezits

L: ham and cheese sandwich, banana

Is the cole slaw mayonaise based or more of a vinegar based type? i love those cole slaws made without typical mayo - they are SO GOOD! and the pulled pork over vegetables sounds GREAT :) I'd have it for sure. I had so many veggies yesterday for lunch actually. was a really tasty meal :) nice portabella burger (the bread was too much but i enjoyed it as a change of pace!)...

how is the yoplait pumpkin pie!??? i have tried i think it was light and fit...which tasted good in pumpkin flavor!

I like to add canned pumpkin and make my own pumpkin yogurt out of pumpkin (i add stevia sweetener) cinnamon and plain fat free or 2% greek yogurt...

yes, stay safe voting! i shall do it early before work tomorrow i'll leave early to get it done...then gym after work and not both activities after work, which is TOO MUCH :)

Work folks. Yeah. some are just pieces of ....yeah.

WOW! Just wow, so emotionally drained about the Indians. I tried to go to bed, but the neighbors were having an outside gazebo party or something and when the Indians tied the game 6 - 6, they were honking horns, yelling and screaming. This sets my dog off, so I decided to get back up and watch the end of it...Sadness! Oh well, they will do better next year. I think I finally got to sleep about 1:15 and then was up again at 5:15 - so four hours of sleep is good, not the best but I'll take what I can get.

I did cancel the Y membership, because we went 1 time as a family in six months and then I went to three classes, so that will be a savings. DH thinks he will have surgery by the end of the month and he will be out of commission for about six - eight weeks. I will miss his pay check coming in, but I hope it finally helps his pain.

Crazy things at work...inventory. I hate it!

Last night we got the girl. We had leftovers, she showered and did homework. I walked the dog and watched OU football.

I'm in Chicago and also a Cubs fan (although not a fanatic fan), and this series was so hard to watch. I felt bad for the Indians. It would have been much easier to cheer on the Cubs if we were playing the Yankees or something like that because they are always contenders for the World Series.

I hear ya on the membership. That's why my husband and I canceled ours several years ago. He never went and I hurt my back and foot and couldn't use most of the equipment there. Turns out then they went out of business 6 months later.

I don't know what we would do without my husband's income, but if he decides to stop working next year and try (and WAIT) for SSD, it will be very hard for us.

We picked up the girl and went to the diner. i had meatloaf, green beans and mashed potatos. I saved half. I had cheesecake. I'm not proud of this.

When DH goes to wash his hands the girl tells me her mother and Marty were fighting when we picked her up. I hate this for her. She is much too young to go through all this drama. She asked for my help on her homework, which I gladly do. While I was helping with the homework DH walked the dog.

The whole city has an angst about them - it is funny how everyone has personal interest in winning the World Series. It is exciting I know that for sure. I was sitting on the edge of my seat only to be disappointed so early in the game. Well tonight is another night, this is the last time to shine! So shine bright Tribe! Do great things out there!

B: biscuit, bacon, iced vanilla latte

L: ham and cheese sandwich, cheezits

S: yogurt

D: something with chicken. DH said he was going to cook it in the oven because...no propane still.

I am going to the Y. We decided that since we don't use it regularly that it is time to cancel the membership. DH can't do any physical work (knee issues) and he wants to swim. He can only swim on Friday evening and Saturday evening. He wants to swim when he wants to swim, not when the Y says he can swim, which I understand. It is also almost fifteen miles away, it takes us longer to get there and back than it does to actually workout.

We had left over noodles and London broil. It was ok. DH passed out candy and I walked the dog. We had lots of trick or treaters, I don't recall seeing this many live in the neighborhood.

DH was cold afterwards and turned up the heat, ergo, once he warms up he gets out and throws all the covers to my side of the bed and then I get out. I woke up at 4:00 and was tempted to stay up and do yoga or something, but I turned on the fan and went back to sleep, just to get up by 5:30 and get ready for work.

London broil sounds so tasty like it hits the spot. I'm sure a stew with it would be awesome like in a crockpot! I don't eat a lot of red meat but it's not because i don't like it - more because i don't eat big portions and all those things get wasted when i buy...a little meat goes well with veggies!

Sleep is important. Last night i got so much & I'm still sleeping...dang sleeping pills might be too much for me right now! LOL.
