Weight: 334.6

Friday I went and had a salad from Wendy's - half an order so it was smaller.

DH got off work at 2:00 and decided it was time for him to get a new truck. We had talked about it, but I didn't know he found one he liked. Anyway, he brought hom a new GMC truck. I guess he needed, but I really hate payments for seven years...that seems like forever! No it is forever!

Friday I ate my navy beans and potatoes for dinner. These were OK.

Saturday we went shopping and picked up stuff needed for the vegetarian meals I have planned for the week. Most of the vegetables I got from my Inperfect Produce, but things like mushrooms and lettuce we had to go buy, along with other things.

Got home and cleaned a few things and then it was football time.

B: toast

Late lunch/early dinner: bean and cheese quesadillas

Snacked on muddy buddies and peanut m&ms

Talked to the girl and she wanted to renew a perscription, so I did that for her.

Sunday

B: frittatas

late lunch/dinner: Big Salad Sunday (lettuce, tomato, carrots, onions, sugar snap peas, brocolli and cauliflower and croutons) this was a nice big salad that lasted the rest of the night.

snacked on m&ms.

About 10:00 I developed a case of indigestion or something, but it hurt to lay down, so I took some pepto and tried to sleep in the recliner. I did until about 2:00 and then finally went to bed.

This morning I still had the pain, I took some ibuprofen and the pain went away about 10:30 this morning. Not sure what it was, but it was definately uncomfortable. So much better now.

B: mini shredded wheat, milk

S: nature valley granola bar

L: big salad, banana

D: TBD I think it will be a egg foo young dish or something with the butternut squash.

Getting excited about my trip home next week.

Have a great week! IP

Progress as of today: 3.3 lbs lost so far, only 124.6 lbs to go!

You are sure getting lots of veggies in now...good job! Maybe tummy is adjusting to those. Glad you are feeling better now!

legcramps on 09/30/2019:
Glad you are feeling better...maybe gallbladder?

Donkey on 09/30/2019:
You are a better wife than I. I would have flipped a brick if my husband decided to buy a car out of the blue. In fact, at one point, way back, he was going to go "just look" and came home with a new car. I hated that car. And I think that incident really damaged my marriage. Obviously we survived, but things were different after he did that.

innerpeace on 10/01/2019:
We'd talked about it, I was just thinking about new carpet before the new truck. I hated the truck he had, it was the last thing he shared with his ex wife and I was more than happy to see it go. I hated it so much, I would never ride in it. And it had over 110K miles...I like not having a car payment. But he got enough trade in for that old truck to pay off a loan, so it wasn't as bad as I make it sound. But, of course, if I knew nothing about it, yeah, now that would have probably started something.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/30/2019:
WHOA a 7 year loan!? no kidding! i agree, that's forever! but it must be more manageable if it's over a period of time that long.

i noticed when doing misfits (i cancelled starting this week because i wasn't able to use some things and the assortment was beginning to get somewhat wasted on only 1 person - me - in my household!) but i noticed just like you that i would sometimes still want to supplement - but not by much and it saved me many trips there. now, i'm more eager to start shopping more often at the store again - to get myself out of the house and driving my car since i don't drive it during the work week.

loving reading the veggies.

i cooked the last of my misfits on Sunday, left the house until Monday afternoon since i slept over my parents, and stupidly i left my cooked veggies out of the fridge...now they are in the garbage :( so sad. at least i have leftovers from my parents ;)

Horn_of_plenty on 09/30/2019:
i want to cook more squash again, like you are.

Weight: 334.6

With my mushy zucchini and squash I had DH stop and get us salads. He even picked up a frosty and fries - the best combination.

The girl was over and has a full weekend with her music. Tonight she has Marching Band, tomorrow she has a Marching Band festival and Sunday she has her first practice with the Youth Orchestra, so I'm pretty sure she will be some kind of tired! She will be a her mom's and we told her if there was a situation where or mother couldn't find the time to taker her to one of these events to let us know and we would take her. Her mother has the nasty habit of doing for others before her daughter, which is a real sore spot for me.

I had a headache and went to bed early, however, that always makes me be awake at odd hours of the night.

I put a pot of navy beans on for dinner before I left for work.

B: eggo waffles, iced tea, banana

S: nutrigrain fruit bar

L: TBD - I will have to go pick me up something

D: Beans and potatos

No real plans this weekend - there is a Mum Festive and a Grape Jamboree, however, these are about an hour away and I have yet to convince myself that I really want to go. I think I could rather finish painting the basement and/or sweep and mop the kitchen...so much more I could do and there's always FOOTBALL.

I hope you all have a great wekend! IP

I left work early yesterday for a dental appointment. I was going to get my permanent crown installed. I get there and the temporary crown was taken out and I'm waiting and waiting. The dentist comes in and tries to put the crown on, it doesn't fit. He starts looking at the tooth and is like...this isn't your crown....so ewww, nasty, gross. Where is my crown? He calls the lab and apparently my crown was shipped to the wrong dentist. So no new crown for me...but gross!

My mom calls and of course I think something is wrong, she never calls. But she said she had a chore for me to do, which is usually something on the computer. She wanted me to order some Arthozene a miracle cure for her arheritis pain. So I do it. Takes me like three minutes. She has the same phone I do and she could have done it, but she want explore the Iphone and see what all it will do. I try to show her each time I am home but she just wants to play words with friends with it...and call once in awhile.

Crazy time of year for me with the fiscal year change over. Half my job changes, the other half changes with the calendar, so there is more errors during this time than any other. I have to recheck everything for everyone for the correct accounting codes...sometimes stress enters here.

B: iced tea and a nutri grain fruit bar

S: Banana

L: left over nutty fried rice, was pretty good with onions, mushrooms, brocolli, cashews and brown rice, eggs

D: probably a salad.

We had frozen zucchini and yellow squash in he freezer and I took some out to eat today...not going to happen, when I looked at this morning it was the consistency of mush and probably can't be cooked anykind of way in that condition. I may try to make a zucchini bread....maybe if I can get it dried out a little.

tomorrow, box three of my impefect produce - very happy with this so far!

Have a grea night! IP

I really like it. I have it delivered every other week so it works well for my family. They didn't deliver to my city, so I have it brought to my work. So far it has worked out well.

Some people never cease to amaze me. Monday, I dropped my work car off to get a new battery because the one we had wouldn't hold a charge. Anyway yesterday about 3:00 I called and asked about my work car. The lady who answered the phone told me I needed to talk to my adviser...really? I just want to know if it is ready or not, it has been there over 24 hours.  I leave a message with the advisor, I said I just wanted to know the status of my car and when he calls me back to leave a message with whoever answer the phone, as I will be gone for the day. So this advisor calls me back and and talks to the guy who asnwers the phone, and he says, all she wanted to know is if she can come and pick it up....and the advisor replies....it was picked up two hours ago. What in the h3ll....the person who picked it up could have said something, like hey office, I picked up the car if you are looking for it or need it.  No common sense I swear!

I get home and DH had cooked pork chops for the girl for dinner and he grilled me some corn. I also made a brocolli, chedar, rice cake. It turned out ok, but one of DH's deficiencies is seasonings. He either does season with too much and it's hot and/or peppery or he doesn't at all. This one he didn't at all and it was pretty bland. I ate them for whole grain mustard.

The girl was accepted into the youth orchestra and she was pretty happy, we are proud of her, but she lost the joy when her mother put the kibash on her plans to spend the night.

B: toast, peanut butter

L: left over brocolli, rice cakes, banana

D: nutty fried rice...i think or something with the butternut squash

on to Thursday! IP

One of those car annoyances....but the benefits of having a work vehicle must take the sting out of it...I know when D had a company provided truck...it saved us so much money.

DH put together this baked ziti - he over does this ricotta cheese, I had to scrape a lot off my portion, otherwise it was ok. We had enought for lunch today and  maybe even lunch tomorrow...for him.

Tonight, we have a brocolli, cheddar rice dish that I am looking forward to.

We went to the store to pick up a few things. I needed cashews for a dish I am making tomorrow.

Besides a nagging heacache, life is good today.

Friday night, DH and I went to the little diner and of all things there...we had a salad - I even picked off the bacon that was added. We ordered a sandwich for the girl. She is usually hot and tired after marching band.

We go to the game and stay through half-time to watch the marching band. I think everyone does their best and I noticied others out of step...not just the girl, but she wasn't out of step the entire time. She enjoys this, but she gets super hot and she says her feet hurt afterwords. We go get her an icy at half-time and when we get back they are finished and marching back to the school. She told us the game was called in the third quarter because a fight broke out and the coaches just eneded the game. I'm glad I wasn't there to see the fight, this would have freaked me out more than I already get just being there.

We get home and the girl picks at her sandwich and takes a shower, we are in bed by 11:00.

Saturday - we are up and out the door for the girl's audition. I guess she did ok. We couldn't watch, she was in the audition room about 15 minutes. She just said they would email her if she made it or not. There were quite a few kids there. We had plans to go grocery shopping, but....DH said he was hungry and we went to find lunch. We decided to try the Impossible Whopper at BK. It was OK. It looks like a regular whopper, the texture is a bit off, but the taste was not too bad. Sitting there I kept smelling BO and sniffing my burger thinking the smell was coming from that. DH asked me what I was doing, I told him I smelled BO. He replied, oh good, I do too, I'm glad it's not just me. It must have been another diner, but it was not very pleasant. We leave to go grocery shopping, but....the girl asked to go the music store to get some music book. Oh ok, we can go to the music store. (I hate this store - every Liberace, Slash want-to-bes are always in there doing guitar rifs, banging on the pianos, it is loud and obnoxious and so very annoying to me). We get in and get out to go shopping but...there was a Biggby coffee shop right across the street. I don't drink coffee, however, I saw an add for this place that raved they were even better than Starbucks. Anyway, we go in there and I ordered a chocolate chip cookie cream shake. OMG, it was the best thing I have ever had in my life. Needless to say, after this, we just go home. I don't remember much after my sugar crash, except it was about 7:15 pm when I woke back up.

DH went shopping early on  Sunday morning, I stayed home and started laundry.

B - scrambled eggs

L: gold fish

D: grilled cheese - we had a meal planned but the girl said she wasn't interested and ate a bowl of soup. I didn't feel like cooking, so we just settled for the grilled cheese.

I do have a whole meal planned out for the week tonight it is baked ziti with spinach and mushrooms. I will take a picture.

B: frosted mini wheats, iced vanilla latte

L: grilled cheese, banana

D: baked ziti

DH trying to listen to the girl as she auditioned:

BONUS PIC - the girl playing with ROCCO - I think this is just so cute.

Last night I got home and DH had the cauliflower and cheese pizza heated up. I thought he was going to put something on it, but he didn't. He just poured salsa and jalapenos on his and he ate it. It was just OK, I probably won't eat that again.

We did have a nature valley sweet and salty granola bar for dessert.

I went to bed at 9:15 and as expected I was awake at 1:30, ready to get up. I forced myself to go back to sleep, woke DH up a 3:00 and then I finally got up at 5:30 to get ready for work.

Tonight we are going to the highschool football game to see the girl march again. These are late dinner nights and will stop and get another salad from Wendy's or somewhere close by home.

I have a few other dishes i want to make over the weekend:

brocolli cheddar casserole

potate pizza

butternut lasagna with mushrooms

baked ziti with spinach and mushrooms (and with ricotta or with a tofu herbed ricotta) - might be my first venture with tofu - we will see

Will be at the audition and vegetable shopping tomorrow

grannyannie on 09/20/2019:
We use tofu a lot. Just has to be cooked properly and in a good sauce.

On to week two with the no meat, doing well.

Tuesday night we had sweet potatoe, bean, onion quesadillas. They were pretty good, despite the kinda sweet taste from the sweet potato.

We also had to deal with the girl. She texted saying she would not be marching Friday night so we didn't have to worry about going to the game to pick her up.

Questions ensued and she said she didn't know about rehearsal or she missed the announcement, therefore the teacher said she could not march on Friday - no march no grade.

This is what I was concerned about, so I emailed the teacher and asked, I know the girl missed the reheasal and would be unable to march, however, if marching was all of her grade, how would she pass the class? Was there a schedule of dates for rehearsal so I could ensure the girl would make it? The teacher responded the dates are on the band calendar and are after school on Mondays and Thursdays. He would be more than willing to work extra with the girl, however, she would have to show diligence and be willing to take the extra instruction. He would also provide extra at 3:00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday for the girl. And she will be willing to march on Friday.

So since DH is working early shift, he was able to pick her up after her extra instruction. I asked her if that helped. She replied it did. She also informed the teacher that she was being mocked and teased from the upper classman and getting harrassed that she was making everyone mess up because she couldn't stay in step. He told her to let him know the next time this happened.

I am just so so disappointed that others will ridicule and put you down instead of helping you get it right. I just don't understand this mentality.

On a good note though, her middle school band teacher took a creative director's position with the Northeast Ohio Youth Orchestra (NOYO) and invited her to audition this Saturday, she is super excited about this opportunity, so I guess we are going to an audition on Saturday for her.

Last night the menu had caulflower grilled cheese, but DH stopped and got us salads from Wendy's after picking up the girl from her marching practice. The salad was good. THe girl opted for chicken nuggets - no meatless for her.

However, after dinner, I did try and make the cauliflower grilled cheese for lunch today, I could not get those things to stay together. I added bread crumbs, but it really didn't help. It was very messy indeed, I was finally able to get them to stick togeher, I just had to let them cook a bit longer than I initially thought. After I got two sandwiches made I dumped the rest of it on a pizza pan and spread it thin and cooked it like that. It will be made into dinner tonight with roasted vegetables. So roasted vegetable pizza with the cauliflower crust.

I also made about four batches of kale chips - cajun spice and cayenne for DH who enjoys spicy. I made honey mustard and ranch for me. They also turned out really well and if I ever need to eat kale, I will more than likely eat it this way.

B: bowl of mini shreeded wheat, vanilla iced latte

S: CLIO yogurt bar

L: cauliflower grilled cheese, banana

D: cauliflower pizza

Didn't go to work yesterday - autumn migraine or something - still not feeling good today, but there was a conference call I couldn't miss.

The CLIO yogurt bar that is really good on the go and has enough chocolate to conquer a craving...

And the cauliflower grilled cheese - I used provolone

Have a great night, IP

I got a call from the girl yesterday, she told her her BF broke up with her, she was so distraught. I felt so bad for her - I've never seen her cry before. She usually just gets mad and pouts, but this was a new level for her. My poor baby.

DH tried to make dinner last night, but forgot some of the ingredients and it is official - I just DO NOT like red, green, yellow bell peppers. Tonight I left him specific instructions on how/what to do for dinner. I also told him he could wait until I get home.

I don't know what is worse him working day shift at 5:00 and going to bed at 8:00 to get up at 3:00 - or evening shift when I get to see him for an hour or so a day. It is truly hard to adjust to someone sleeping when I am used to doing my own thing all evening by myself. One day I am hopeful he will have a regular schedule.

Dinner: stuffed bell peppers with rice and beans (cranberry beans - first time having) they are OK, kinda like pinto beans, but NOT.

I stayed up and watched the BROWNS game!

Ensure DH was up at 3:00 and went back to sleep.

B: toast, iced vanilla latte

L: cranberry bean, cheese quesidilla

D: yamodillas with avocado, sour creams and salsa (hopefully the mushrooms and onions will get cooked tonight)

Work is slow.

No picture today, I didn't take one yesterday and nother interesting in my phone.

Have a great day!

Tomorrow will be one week meatless. I am trying this for several reasons, mostly just because I am disgusted by meat right now, just the handling of it, texture, smell everything about it grosses me out right now, maybe it is a phase, i don't know, but I can't bring myself to eat it.

We have been eating a lot of beans and vegetables. Like HOP and her misfits, they had an imperfect produce here that I have subscribed to and we have been eating lots of vegetables. I am always surprised of the different things in my box, eventhough I selected most of it. Here is a picture of the first box:

I got my second box on Friday with sugar snap peas and two bunches of kale, I don't know what to do with yet! I also selected a jar of mild curry sauce DH is using over stuffed bell peppers tonight. The stuffing has mushrooms, onions and rice.

We have been pretty busy the last few weeks, we went to the girl's high school football game to watch her perform in marching band. It was nice, except I was afraid to be in that area due to the recent shootings, I am leary of everything and having PTSD does not help anything...and I think DH wants to go again this Friday, because he is working first shift the next two weeks - from 5:00-1:30 - makes for early mornings.

We have also been to three dog events, which the dogs loved, me...not so much. Got into a confrontation with one of the vendors, and I don't think I reacted well....this after I've been reading on how I can only control my reactions and not others....failed!

The gist of it is...DH had Rocco and I had Steve, we were looking at everything, matter of fact there was just so much, I was overwhelmed. DH was standing at a vendor table listening to his speil about CBD oil and I was standing there listening too...

And then the vendor next door shouted at me...lady, when I looked at her, she pointed down and Steve had hiked is leg and peed on the clasps of about three or four leashes she had hanging down from the top of her booth. I'm like, oops, sorry. She said, you need to watch your dog. I said, sorry again, and said, IT IS a dog show. She said regardless of it being a dog show, do you let your dog pee on anything? I snapped back, yeah, I kinda do, when we are outside. She muttered something else and walked away. I just said, thank you, have a nice day and walked away, but I could feel the redness creeping up my neck and face.

DH asked me what was that all about and I told him and we got into a big discussion about it. He's like just forget about it. But I just can't seem to. I'm like...I want to go and compensate her for the leashes or buy them or something and he tells me no. Anyway we leave and I just cannot stop thinking about this incident and want to atone for being a bad pet owner and/or paying for what my dog did. It's like having kids and they break something in the store, a parent would usually buy it. Dilemma that I am having, again DH says it is collateral damage and she should have said something then and there if she needed me to pay for it.  I have even emailed the event and asked if they had a map/list of all the vendors so I can try and contact this person. Yes, yes I do have a conscious and this will chew on my a long time. Like an incident last year in a store parking lot. This is why I have gray hair.

Son successfully got moved to Hawaii and he is excited about being there. He said he was looking into buying a house. So excited for him, but I warned him about the financial responsiblity.

Work is OK, brought in some aroma therapy for my headaches. I think it helps and no one has complained about smelling essense of orange yet.

On a lighter note...flowers

Have a great night....and GO BROWNS!

I was a vegan for 6 months. I felt fantastic! But I didn't stick with it.

honestly, i would NOT worry or waste any more time thinking about your doggie's accident on her leashes. i am sorry that he was "caught peeing" lol...if he wasn't caught maybe you wouldn't have noticed...either way, don't worry. yeah, it's a bad situation to be in as the owner, but, it's an accident. yes, you could have compensated, but, well, maybe she reacted wrong as the salesperson. either way, it's not the end of the world or a major tragedy, so i hope you will not continue to feel bad.

your flowers look amazing as does your imperfect produce, especially the yellow tomatoes which look outstanding!!! Very nice of you to share a photo with us.

it makes eating veggies, for me, much easier because they come directly to my apt so all i have to do is prepare them...i don't even need to go to the store to pick them up which is nice.

i also get into phases where i eat more of one thing and less of other food. i know what you mean about not wanting meat now.

I echo everything Horn said. I too tend to hold on to past conflict scenarios. It does us no good. For myself, I have to actively work on putting it behind me, mentally.

You know, I just realized that to some, the dog incident might be nothing, but to folks like you and me, these are little traumatic events, that carry a lot of weight. Hmm...

My personal feelings about the dog incident is that if that lady knew therre would be a multitude of dog around...she really should not have left the leashes that low...dogs are trerritorial..and it would cause male dogs especially to want to mark territory....things should have been up where dogs weren't tempted...if one of you had considered the compensation at the time..that would have been fine...you have tried to search for her and if you find her then discuss it.....if that doesn't work then you tried.....i was once many years ago...at a garage sale....there was some jewelery in a box for 10 cents....i saw what appeared to be a real diamond ring in there....I asked the lady if that ring really belonged in there...she sniped back...that if it was in the box then it belonged in there...so i bought it...and took it to a jeweler and it was appraised at over $100......I went back to the area where the sale was...and couldn't figure out what house it was...because I still felt funny about the whole thing.....never figured out what house...so I couldn't talk to anyone about it....so I bought kids school clothes with it..sometimes things happen and we have no idea why....maybe that happened to teach her to display her wares differently...dogs will be dogs!!

Thanks! Afterwards I wanted to say, well my dog wouldn't have peed on it if another dog hadn't already....but I can never come up with anything clever to say in the moment. I haven't heard from the event organizer about my request. So...I tried. I am a little better today.
