Weight: 316.6

I put in leave for yesterday to leave at 1:00 to see the little girl's award ceremony. She made merit role and gets a perfect attendance certificate. She had told me it was on Monday, but I received a text from her mother telling me it was on Tuesday. The little girl informed me over the weekend, if I did come, please sit on the other side of the room and not by her mother. Why? It's not like I will tell her she is a horrible mother and she should really help me get rid of her daughter's head lice. I would never start anything in public! Or I should say...I haven't yet.

Got home and got the dog. Walked him a little, but he still didn't produce the stool sample, so I took him anyway. We waited on the Dr. and because my little dog, don't really care for him, he had to be mussled. The doctor looked him over, pushed, prodded and pulled on my little dog and then he tells me...Your dog is fat! OMG. He weighed in at 14.8 pounds. The Dr. said he should be between 9-11. He suggested I pick up his food bowl and not leave it out all day. OK I will try this. I will also bundle up and walk him like we do in the summer, it's just so hard sometimes to make myself go out in the frigid temperatures, good thing he has a jacket.

My legs and thighs are feeling my zumba from Sunday so I didn't even attempt to do it. I got caught up in watching the X Files and biggest loser.

D: grilled chicken with quinoa and brocolli

I finished the day with 1820 calories.

B: special K, iced vanilla latte, milk

S: Sargento healthy breaks

L: turkey, swiss on italian bread.

After the ceremony I am going to the store and then back to the little gir's house to get her and then we will go home.  I am cooking something with chicken again. Haven't figured out what yet. We do have an event at the library at 6:30.

I did see an dressing recipe yesterday I want to try with 1/2 avocado and 1/2 plain yogurt with cilantro and other spiced. It looked like and creamy. I want to use that for something.

Have a great evening. PEACE!

Enjoying the zumba? A good workout. Good calories!

Great meal plan for the day!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/27/2016:
Sometimes when the body is sore, a day or so of resting of the sore body parts is worthwhile. Continuously exercising sore muscles can cause weakness & injury as I experienced for a couple years. I am so bad with tv watching – as in, it’s hard for me to commit to any show at all. At home, it’s like I have ADD. It’s hard for me to remain on any task for a long time when I’m home. This is why I love the gym! I am out & about. I love working out in a gym environment. I’d not be as successful if I were to work out at home! Very nice calories. 1820 is surely enough for weightloss! Lol, I’m constantly back & forth to the store buying vegetables. In order to be successful, myself, I always need cooked veggies on hand in my fridge. If I don’t have them, I’m far less likely to make good choices. I have learned, especially since early fall, how I do need to take extra steps and make extra trips and be diligent to make sure veggies are always around. Actually, I have needed to unfortunately throw vegetables away lately because I bought too many. But honestly, this seems a better case than not having enough! I hate throwing away, but I love knowing I have them on hand when I need them! Yep I guess dogs are just like us people. They can also get fat with less physical activity. So, by you walking it a little in the winter too, it’ll help both YOU AND THE DOG! Physical activity is good for all of us! That’s why pet owners have a plus of needing to walk their pets because it also helps them get some much needed exercise too. Dressing sounds healthy & tasty. I also have half an avocado (hope it’s still fresh bc I cut it 2 days ago!) to eat with my lunch!

Weight: 316.6

Shortly after posting last night I thought I was dying. I say that because I've never been prone to upset stomachs, nausea, indigestion or heartburn. It hurt to breathe and I felt like there was an air bubble in my heart or something. I thought I was having a heart attack. They say women symptons are different than mens so I really wasn't sure. I asked DH if he had tums or anything, he said he used them all to take some pepto, which I did. I must say this alleviated most of the pain, but it still felt sore going to bed. Thankfully I woke up feeling much better.

I was describing it to DH and he said it was heartburn, so now I know, but it was scary anyway.

MONDAY roared it's ugly head this morning. I had to turn in time cards and made one mistake after another, so I just had to do my work twice instead of once. Usually it only takes me over an hour, today it took almost three...good thing there are only 1.5 hours to go.

Then I must run home and get my dog for his appointment, that I still don't have a stool sample for. Oh well he will just have to miss this test this time.

B: left over breakfast casserole

L: turkey, swiss on flat bread

S: key lime yogurt

D: grilled chicken, brussel sprouts

I'm glad to hear you pulled through.

grannyannie on 01/26/2016:
I rarely get heartburn but when I do I think I'm having a heart attack! It is painful and scary. Red wine will do to me if I drink it within a couple of hours before bed, so I don't.

Good menu.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/26/2016:
I am so sorry you were feeling so badly. Also, sometimes, when we feel sick, a person can have a tendency to make it even worse by adding in worry & anxiety to the situation...glad you are better!

Sunday, Sunday!

Woke up at 8:00 and was up doing the crossword puzzle. Had my addicting vanilla iced latte. DH made a breakfast casserole with canned biscuits, eggs, turkey bacon and cheese. It was very good but probably not the healthiest option.

I treated the little girl with another lice treatment, I still couldn't get all the nits, I worked on her hair for over two hours. Probably another treatment, if only her mother would do it again tomorrow, to help, but she will not!

I got the laundry finished and watched some Tv. i did do some Zumba which kicked my butt. I then walked the dog, because he has a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I needed a stool sample. Yeah, he didn't have to go.

DH and little girl when to the store to buy a new mouse for the laptop. I am going to be taking it on the NY trip and wanted to be able to go online, while I'm in the hotel room. He also bought a new case for my phone, which I've had for almost three weeks and have dropped like ten times already. I'm so disgusted with phone prices I've made the decision I'm not upgrading again. I'm not putting out anymore money on electronics.

B: vanilla iced latte, breakfast casserole

L: Amish salad

D: left over chicken chili, sour cream, cheese

S: macadamia nut protein bar - (I think I am finished with this one, I think it makes me constipated)

I went over on my calories today, getting up to 1963 - good think I did some kind of exercise!

Bring on the MONDAY! I'm ready for it!

I always have a heavy case for my phone - costs too much to break! Good for you trying the Zumba! Calories sound fine!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/25/2016:
Lice is def hard to get rid of. when my younger sister had it so long ago (I remember back maybe it was 22 years ago now!) I remember she was crying because my mom was scrubbing and messing with her head so much trying to remove the bugs!

If you have any questions about NY or Long Island, feel free to ask me. I grew up on Long Island & lived there until I was 30yrs old. I'm 33 now. It's a big island - around 2 hours without traffic to get from east to west of it. but, I can tell you basic things if you have any questions!

Total calories for FRiday was 1644, not too bad and I ate a lot of the salads we made for dinner! This is the Amish salad and the detox salad. I even had the little girl help, she made most of the detox salad.

After dinner, I treated the little girls hair for her critter infestation, this will have to be repeated again on Sunday. She says she can't feel them, but I believe I would be able to feel stuff crawling around on my scalp, just saying!

DH was up at 5:30 making his way to work, me and the little girl did not get up until about 8:45, this is late for us. And the dog let us.

We puttered around the house. I put on some chicken chili and then ventured out to Wal-mart where we picked up a few items. I got a new bra to try out and I picked up the Zumba instructional box set with instructions and four CDS, will try this tomorrow.

We came back home and had lunch of sandwiches and then took Steve (the dog) to get his nails trimmed. Afterwards we made it to the park. The deck was made of the vinyl wood stuff and was so slick. Steve would not even walk on it, he just layed there in the snow and wouldn't move. I had to carry him down. It was ery blustery down by the water so we didn't stay too long.

DH got home about 3:30, we hate the chicken chili and watched some TV. We had tickets to see the Odd Couple play so left and got back about 10:30 so it was a pretty full day.

Tomorrow, must tackle the laundry and some house work, maybe a walk its supposed to warm up to 34.

B: white chocolate macadamia nut protein bar

L: turkey swiss on cheese bread

D: chicken chili, sour cream, salad

S: DH brought me a chocolate chunk cookie at the play with a bottle of water, I did eat the cookie and did not feel bad.

Total calories for this day was right at 1600.

Have a great weekend!

Well done on the salads - they look good!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/24/2016:
Is that your "little girl!?" she looks like she is 13 years old??

Great photos, I love seeing glimpses of other people's lives here on DD because we all have such different ones :) so nice to share.

What damn is that!? it's beautiful with the snow.

Calories are great, nice job. That will definitely help with your weight loss. 1600 would be excellent for me as well. Lately, I keep maintaining bc I am not going low enough in calories for a change. I am trying to teach myself to be satisfied with less (particularly in the mornings at work) and it's a struggle. Weight loss is a struggle I think for the general population lol!

nice of the dog to let you lucky ladies sleep in a bit. sleeping in is so healthy I think especially in wintertime on weekends when I can!

salads look tasty :)

and darn lice! I remember my sister got it when she was in elementary school. it can happy to any kid no matter what. I hope you get them all out of your daughter's hair! sorry you both have to deal with it...spreads so easily in the schools.

innerpeace on 01/24/2016:
This is my step daughter! She turned 11 in December, she is very healthy. We have been fighting lice for awhile. Her mother, who she stays with most of the time, does not help to get rid of it, it is a nightmare. That little fall is on the Black River in Elyria, Ohio.

I'm glad it's Friday, but for the first time in a long time, I'm not looking forward to the weekend. The weather guys are making the NE go crazy. I'm still a "see it to believe it" type person and what if, what if everyone is kinda over reacting. I mean it is the NE where they usually get all the snow anyway, - remember the 6 or 12 feet Buffalo got last year, why is this snow storm so much different? No, no, we'll just close everything now and wait and see!

I just remember the storm they predicted and everyone runs out and buys up everything at the store and then...nothing. A little rain, a little wind and that was it! Why? because some hi/lo thing didn't or wasn't as cold as expected so...sorry! Really though, how many of you can be so wrong at your job at times, and still be able to keep it? Just saying! I work here and don't trust them.

Right now I'm in a mood where everything irritates me. My DH was breathing too loud last night, I poked him and told him to roll over. Other than that the dog slept all night, which is a good thing. Must deal with the little girl this weekend, I'm not looking forward to for some reason.

B: special K, milk, iced vanilla latte (this adds 60 calories to my milk -it is a habit) I did give it up for lent one year, I may again this year as well.

L: turkey, swiss on multi grain bread, key lime yogurt and wait for it...the real reason you are getting snow...I ate an apple!!

S: honey almond protein bar

D: scheduled flat bread pizzas - this is what the little girl wanted. I was going to put turkey bacon on mine and some vegetables - we'll see how this works out. I also want to make the Amish cauliflower/brocolli salad, again, will see how this works out.

Will post my calories tomorrow, so you all have a nice, warm, weekend and again, I hope you stay out of the snowmageddon!

I take weather forecasts with a grain of salt. Good for you eating an apple!

cybermom4 on 01/23/2016:
You are so funny - I am the exact same way and it drives my family crazy. I think the weather news and the grocery stores have a conspiracy - when the shelves are overstocked, they call the weatherman and ask him to 'mention the possibility of snow' and the crowds come running.

Today was a some what better day. I was up at 2:00 with my stupid dog, and was watching my 600 pound life, OMG...I will continue to do what I'm doing so that will never happen to me.

DH has his knee surgery scheduled for 2/5 the Friday after I return from the NY trip. I must make a decision to drive or fly by tomorrow COB, so will be rethinking that tonight.. It is a little girl weekend and DH saw she had lice crawling in her head again last night. OMG I am so sick of this. She has had this lice on and off for the last three years (it will be three years in June). So I guess I will be nit picking this weekend, which sucks.

Three weeks into the new year and 5 pounds down, it's not exactly what I was hoping for, but it's a start.

B: special K, milke, iced vanilla latte

S: honey almond protein bar

L: turkey, swiss on multigrain bread

S: 100 calorie almond walnut pack

D: black bean burger, avocado and a bun found a bag of soggy, slimey ruined lettuce and wrinkled tomatos in the back of the refrigerator - I will put it in the refrigerator next time The lettuce was so far back, some of it was even frozen.

FInished the day with 1544 calories.

I hope snowmageddon misses where you live...I was hoping it would come further west to dump on Cleveland, maybe next time.

Well done on the menu! I remember when my boys were little they would get notes from school to check for head lice. They never got it but I know that stuff is gagging!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/22/2016:
Great calories and sounds healthy. sorry about the veggies that went to waste. I also struggle sometimes buying veggies that are fresh and not cooking them in time! what a waste on my part!

yeah, we got the snowmageddon coming too! (NYC)

Everything went wrong today! I had a training class scheduled from 1-5. I also had a beading class scheduled for 6:30. The plan was to cancel the class so I could get the little girl before 5:00 get home and get dinner started and ate and head off for the beading class. I canceled the class because a lot of the stuff will be covered during my trip to NY. However, my boss scheduled a staff meeting a 3:00 and it lasted until 4:30, so I was late getting the little girl anyway. And then, the guy who said he would drive me to NY said that the Regional office didn't need him so he didn't have to go, so...I'm stuck flying. What a nightmare this will be.

Picked up the little girl late, got home and DH had stuck the chicken, spinach pizza in the over, so we eat the pizza...again. We head off to the beading class and it is no where to be found. What the What? I looked everywhere for this class and we couldn't find it, I guess I wrote down the wrong library or something, but anyway, we got back home and we are here!

I think my left ear is plugged up and it is annoying me, making me very irritable.

B: special K, milk, vanilla iced latte

S: macadamia nut, protein bar

L: ham, swiss on multigrain bread

D; pizza

S: fruit and nut snack

Total calories for the day 1829, a little higher than I would like. I will reevaluate my eating planning tomorrow. Struggling right now, kicking and stomping like a brat at the candy store!

Don't worry and have a nice day! Take each day one at a time.

I could drive, I'm just 'afraid' to drive. I haven driven all of the world - Germany, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Japan, LA from Wilmington, NC (across country) I am just having a mental block about driving through, into, New York for some reason. I don't trust the weather and have to drive through mountains to get there and my dear sweet DH is worried because I will be my myself. Drive or Fly, drive or fly, I do have to make a decision by tomorrow COB.

Might as well be Monday!

Had the hardest time getting to sleep, actually I don't remember sleeping at all. I tossed and turned and then got up for about 30 minutes and then tossed and turned some more, before I knew it was time to get up. I don't remember going to sleep, but I guess I did. It was a whole 7 degrees when I left for work this morning. Brrr.

DH and I need to go to the library to return some books the little girl checked out. I tried to renew them on the internet but someone put a hold on one of them so I need to take it back. I asked if he just wanted to go out and eat, as we haven't this year yet, which is a great accomplishment for us.

One of the electronic technicians approached me at work and asked when I am supposed to go to Region (New York) I told him Feb. 1. He said he will know more later this week if he has to go and he will drive the suburban and I can ride with him. This would be my ideal solution to get there. If not then I will have to stick to my flying plans which is stressing me out. I'm not afraid of the actual flying, I'm afraid of not fitting in the seat. I haven't flown in a few years and I'm a few pounds heavier than I was the last time I flew. I fit then, but it wasn't my ideal situation. I worry more about the people sitting next to me, than my discomfort. It just sucks for now.

B: granola cereal, milk, iced vanilla latte

L: ham, swiss on multi grain bread, pickles, halo tangerine (2)

S: white chocolate macadamia nut protein bar

D: TBD - if we stay home it will either be a blackbean veggie burger or a turkey burger.

Veggie burger is a good choice, especially black bean.

Awesome50 on 01/20/2016:
Hoping that you are able to drive rather than fly. I feel your anxiety about that. I always worry about how much or should I say how little amount of room the passenger beside me has. My fingers are crossed for you for the suburban drive.

Had a relaxing day. Finished the laundry and stayed in with the 6 degree weather, even my dog didn't want to go out, with is jacket on.

B: granola with milk

L: ham and cheese on flat bread

D: spaghetti with turkey and marinara sauce.

I eneded the day with under 1500 calories, which is OK, but I still need to get some exercise in.

Thanks for all the fruit and vegetable suggestions. I try believe. I just me can't tolerate most fruit. I can't even stand the smell of most of it, it has to do with a lot of mymilitary background and situations surrounding the fruit so It is a struggle to eat it. I try. Vegetables are much easier fo me.

Today was a good day off so I am mentally prepared to go to work tomorrow.

I did delete the Candy Crush time suckers off my phone again. Will see how I spend these new found hours of time tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Oh Sunday, you break my heart!

Sat around all morning watching Law & Order, addiction of mine. Showered left the house and did the horrible shopping, house is replenished with lots of good food. DH had a bout with diarrhea and didn't want to be far from a toilet so the snow and the toilet kept us a home again! But I did lots of walking around Sam's club. Tomorrow no work, no family for the daytime. I will play a DVD and get up and move a little bit.

B: white chocolate, macadamia nut breakfast bar, iced  vanilla latte

L: slice of cheese pizza from Sam's club, bigger than I wanted to eat but I counted the entire 410 calories

D: scrambled eggs, sausage patties and biscuits. Another bad choice and again, counted all of those calories 1,025...so I went over today by 295 calories ending up at 1958. I haven't hate this bad in awhile but we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast for dinner.

Didn't get laundry downstairs and/or started so that is scheduled for tomorrow.

Guess I will be routing for the Broncos, this year! Have a great Sunday evening all!

grannyannie on 01/17/2016:
We love Law and Order SVU!

I've noticed you don't eat many veggies or fruits. Adding them would be a good idea. I find a huge salad an hour before dinner is very filling and lessens my appetite for dinner.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/18/2016:
Have a nice day off tomorrow! I have a suggestion similar to Grannyannie...have healthy food around your house (hopefully you do now after food shopping) so that instead of the dinner you had, you can eat healthier. maybe instead of biscuits, have unlimited fruit. That would save you lots of calories. and instead of sausage, just the eggs. or Instead of eggs, just the sausage. or egg whites, tons, with a little sausage and fruit.

you can actually eat MORE for less calories if you make good choices. Take it from me - my meals are sometimes enormous. Way more than most people eat in one sitting.
