Loved, loved, loved the seminar on How Plant Based Living Saved my Life, you may be seeing a future vegatarian. Don't get me wrong I love steak and bacon, but I think I can just eat them once a month to reap the benefits of eating vegatarian. DH says, we have to get rid of all the meat in the freezer first, yeah OK, so after I have blocked all my arteries with all the meat in the freezer than I can start the plant based living. It's an idea, I'll have to seriously consider. I have a check up with the doctor in a month, we'll see what I can improve in a month's time.

Actually we have nothing scheduled tonight, since DH's dental appointment was yesterday, I guess I might try to tackle the awful yucca family in my flower bed. I hate that plant!

I'm grateful for my mistakes, I've learned so much from them.

I'm grateful for the ability to read and like it, enjoy it and get lost in it.

I'm grateful for indoor plumbing, especially after a bout with the stomach flu.

Day 17: What do you want to do when you get older? I would like to travel, i would like to own a flower shop, I would like to invent something new and improved. I would like to find my passion!

D: last night, we could have gone to any number of restaurants but DH was acting weird so we just went home. I had a tuna fish sandwich on whole grain bread

B: two pieces of whole grain toast, iced coffee

S: quaker quinoa protein bar

L: left over tuna fish sandwich, pretzel pieces

S: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich

D: supposed to be teriaki chicken, corn and salad. One more thing out of the freezer!

I was vegetarian for years. I did feel better and healthier. I don't eat tons of meat now, but some.

Monday night...well it started off good, but then I got a phone call from my boss, which can never be good. She told me the kennel where her dogs were let one get out and it was hit by a car and killed! OMG. She asked if I could find someone at the office to take her other dog until she comes back. She comes back on Wednesday night so this wasn't a long time. I did send out an email asking if anyone in the office could take the dog, thankfully someone said yes. I went to pick up the remaining little dog and gave it to a co-worker who is working late on Thursday so he will bring the little dog to work when he comes in and my boss will take it home.

I would have taken the dog, but my DH said we couldn't leave her in the house without supervisor, well, OK but Steve as already chewed up everything, i didn't see the probably, but I guess using the co-worker was best. I know my boss was very sad, not being able to leave New York right away, but it wasn't a vacation it was a business trip so I understand. Her remaining dog is safe now!

D: DH cooked the black rean and corn salmon patties on the grill, they tasted ok. Had two peices of whole grain bread. Of course that didn't feel us up.

S:  meat sticks - they are finished so no more meat stickes.

Walking to my happiness class helped me reach over the 10,000 step mark yesterday, very happy about that.

S: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich.

Still working on getting the water down, this is very hard.

Also received a phone call about DH's dental appointment which is today...not tomorrow, putting a kink in the Plant life seminar. I told DH I would meet him there after he is finished, i really don't think he wanted to go anyway. I can't ever see him going meatless but who knows maybe it will be a peasant surprise.

Today I am grateful that I hear birds chirping in the mornings. Its a great way to wake up.

I'm grateful for a safe drive to work, Cleveland traffic is appalling sometimes.

I'm grateful for my loving husband, who never ceases to amaze me.

Day 16: what would you do if this was the last day of earth. I would leave work, call my family and wait for my husband to get home. He is my life and who I live for. I never knew so much love for another person, well my son, but that's a kid.

Also today, got notification that the raise that was supposed do come on July 1st will be added to Friday's paycheck with back pay, so very happy about that!

Sunday night without TV...what a concept. Dh went to get the little girl to take her to a dental appointment this morning. I made the comment last week that she should be over and should have already eaten dinner, he got her home by 7:30, nope, no dinner. DH text his exwife asking why she wasn't fed, the exwife stated they eat late on Sunday. So DH asked the little girl if she ate again when she got home when she left on the Sunday's we had her...her reply...NO. I just don't get people sometimes. DH stopped at DQ and got her something to eat, he also brought me a blizzard...WHY? because he wants to make me happy? No because I asked him to bring me something sweet. I'm an addict!

I finished the laundry and read with the little girl, I can tell that she has improved, this makes me happy. We also worked on multiplication tables. Slowly but surely she is making progress, I'm very proud of her.

Today was the first class in a series of 4 - Increasing Happiness and LIfe Satisfaction. I learned that I am happy with my life in general. I am happy in my home and mostly happy at work, it is me, that I need to be happy with. I'm uncomfortable, I don't like my clothes or how they look or fit. I walked to the class, thought I was going to die! So we have homework to write three things we are grateful for each day for a week. 1. I’m grateful for my few real friendships. These people supported me through their belief in me during the hardest times, and I feel the connection with them even though they’re physically very far from me. 2. I’m grateful for my balanced state of mind, which is a total relief from the emotional turmoil that I lived with for many years.3. I’m grateful that I live. Life is sacred, so special. I wish more people would see the beauty of simply living.

Tomorrow is our seminar: How Plant Based Living Saved My Life, I am really looking forward to it.

We woke up early and headed out the door to a new nature preserve I found. We walked for about 40 minutes. It was nice and serene walk. On the way home we stopped at Walmart and got three porch chairs. I also have new mulch and pansies to plant. So afraid it will freeze again, so we are waiting until after the 15th. I started laundry but then felt tired so I took a nap for about an hour. After the nap we decided to take Steve to the dog park, so we left and let the dog run through the dog park for about an hour, we did walk another 1.5 miles around the ball park. Never seen lacrosse until today, I bet they can do serious damage with those sticks.

Once back at the house, I tried to vacuum out the dog hair, but learned that is an almost impossible task, guess I will have dog hair in my car. DH said he would try to get it out with duck tape, I will also try a lint roller for clothes to see if that helps as well.

D: pot roast and mashed potatoes

Finished all the laundry and cleaned the master bath, DH went to pick up the little girl because she has a dental appointment early in the morning. He will then take her to school and go to work.

DAY 14 of challenge: name five celebrities:  Wll since it was Master's day, I'm going to have to add Phil Mickenlson to this list. I admire him and am a big fan, not that I like golf. Bruce Willis is a favorite,Will Smith and Nicolas Cage for movie draws. My final celebrity would be Peyton Manning, they way to recover from an injury and still be able to make things happen, very inspiring. Honorable mention...Jason White. He once had a commercial that said, what do you do after three knew surgeries, many months of rehab...you get back up and do it again! So keep trying everyone>

Woke up at 7:30 but couldn't keep my eyes open  so went back to bed until 9:00. DH and I had to have Steve at the vet by 11:00 fo his heartwarm test to get his Trifexis medication for fleas and ticks. Afterwards we wient to Lake View park for a dog walk. It was very nice today, except still a little chilly glad we had our jackets. We walked around the lake for about 1 1/2 hours. We made it back home to go to our spaghetti dinner fund raiser for the Sweet Adelines a local chorus.

B: toast & iced coffee

L: beef sticks from not sure what they are, they are kinda like sausages about 180 calories a piece

D: salad, spagetti and garlic bread ( peices) so addicting

Day 13 of journal: Confess three things - I usually speed, I'm addicted to food and I'm lazy.

Tomorrow is laundry day, house cleaning day and maybe start on the yard work. DH and I agreed that we would do yard work on the weekdays after work and leave the weeends to fun and games.

DH brought dinner home. I had a chicken, ranch wrap. After dinner I helped the little girl do her homework and her reading assignment. We had a Mad Scientist Club at the library: PEEPS contruction. Though they didn't have very many Peeps, we used marshmallows and spaghetti. I think I had more fun than the little girl.


B: cheerios, iced coffee

S: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich

L: turkey and light cheddar

S: trail mix

I ask DH what was for dinner, he said a surprise. I'm not exactly sure what that means.

Day 12: What is on your desk top...my answer eight icons. I hate a cluttered desk top and keep it relatively clean. I do have lots of folders though in word, excel, etc.

I hope you all have a great weekend. We have lots of yard work to do...well as much as well can with the ground still be wet. More rain this morning and probably tonight, making that a very hard chore.

How to start the day off with an impending migraine...

I couldn't see driving to work in the rain, all the glare, oncce I got out of the car to go into work, the police department was testing their generator and the lovely aroma of diesel fuel blasted in my face (not only the smell, but also PTSD from the army)  as I entered the loading dock vestibule paint thinner or varnish assaulted my nose and then the janitor's over powering cologne was still lingering in the elevator and the piece de resistance I dropped some maple brown sugar oatmeal on my shirt so I will be smelling that all day and  then the pressure of the upcoming storms is just too much for my cranium to handle but alas, I turn down the lights, pop some excedrin migraine and drive on! I've heard that activity is also good, so I will head out for one shortly.

B: maple and brown sugar oat meal

S: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich on multi-grain spongy bread

L: turkey, monterray jack cheese on the same multi-grain spongy bread

S: carrotts and maybe hummus, there is a recall, so I might not get the hummus.

Not sure about dinner tonight as the little girl has a Mad Scientist class tonight. All about contructing with PEEPS!!

Almost let the day get by me without and entry.

Work was stupid, just because I don't have a lot to do. I was trying to find a popcorn machine all day. No luck. Boss will be gone for a week so I will have time to walk more. All in all it was a good day.

Steve was up twice last night, DH says he is barking at a rabbit running through the yard. Rabbits are fine, it's the skunks I get concerned about, poor little Steve was sprayed twice last year, and it was a huge mess.

B: brown sugar maple oatmeal

S: 1/2 peanut butter sanwich

L: turkey and swiss on whole grain bread. I bought the wrong time, this bread is spongy and I don't like it at all

D: pork roast, salad

S: dried pineapple.

DH and I took Steve for a walk in the neighborhood, I still can't believe we still are wearing our jackets. It was really foggy too at 6:30 at night, very eerie.

Day 10 journal challenge. If you had to live your life with only one food and one drink what would you choose? Hands down the drink would be water, as much as I love my diet Dr. Pepper, I know it would not be a good thing to just drink only DDP. The food would be chicken. I can do so many things with chicken.

Today is a dreary, rainy, chilly day. The rain however is making everything green which is pretty. I wish I could say the same for me. I just can't get motivated. I have all these good ideas but I can't make them work...I'll keep tryining.

B: maple brown sugar oatmeal

S: 1/2 peanut butter on whole grain bread

L: roasted turkey, colby jack cheese on whole grain bread, banana, yogurt

S: tropical trail mix - only ate the pineapples, cashews and coconut pieces.

D: steak, carrots and potato salad (if everything works out)

DH is taking the little girl to the library for a class she is signed up for "tweens at the table" she is supposed to learn more about nutrian. Once she gets back to our house we will do the reading and the homework and eat.

I emailed her mother and sent her some free camp information for this summer and suggested that the little girl might be interested in one or two of the interest groups and maybe even the stepsister over there. I then told her how upset I was about the little girl's hair over the weekend. She replied thanks for the camp info, she would look into it and she knows about the hair and could I help her talk the little girl into getting it cut. Excuse me? The little girl says you won't let her get it cut, what in the world, I don't know who to believe any more.

I paid $15.00 for a dog walk to happen on 4/26/15. I can't wait. We also have a free dog walk this weekend at a lakeview park.

DH fought with the heater/AC trying to change the air filter out, it was quiet comical but he finally got it out. He didn't take the measurements and went to get a replacement and got the wrong size. So he made two trips. After he sat outside and we played frisbee. It was kind of fun but the grass was still wet so we tracked mud in the house.

Day 9: What are your pet peeves? I have so many, just to list a few: driving too slow in the fast lane, cutting in line, chewing with your mouth open, rude people, people who interrupt you while you're talking, saggy pants, unflushed toilets, loud cell phone usage in public, animal cruelty, people who follow too close, people getting on the elevator before you get off, pushy sales people, obliviousness in general, bad grammar, missuse of homonyms are just a few. I have a bunch of others, which I will save for another day.

Steve had a blast at the dog park.

DH was moody because it was three years almost to the day, or Easter, when his wife left, so he's not a big fan. I hate Easter just because I had appendicitis and no one believed I was in pain. The nurses didn't want to call in the surgeon because it was a holiday. What the eff, lady I'm in pain and NO for the 3rd time I'm not pregnant! I was traumatized to say the least, that pain was so much worse than labor. And then when my son was two he banged his head and got a goose egg on his forehead that became abcessed, he was in the hospital on Easter, and my mom wouldn't come up to the hospital and bring me birth control pills...it was a big mess, so Easter is not my favorite time of the year either, no religious reasons!

Because we were both moody, again we made unhealthy choices and stopped at Steak and Shake and ate hamburgers...again. This morning is a start of another day!

L: turkey and provolone on whole wheat, banana

S: some trail mix, I didn't eat it all only a few cashews and the dried pineapple

I did get to walk this afternoon at work, I did get rained on but I found a new corridor through the music school and heard all kind of beautiful music walking by the practice rooms. It was very different and refreshing.

Day 8 of journaling challenge. What would you say to 3 different people?

To my husband...You have brought back the sunshine to my soul, the joy to my days, you have restored my broken heart, your smile has healed my pain and your caring spririt has rescued mine from dark places. I love you and will cherish you always!

To his exwife...you are the worst mother I have ever known in my life, you certainly have your priorities mixed up lady! You need to get your head out of your ass and take care of your daughter!

To my boss...I am bored and do not have enough to do at work, I know I've told you this before, but I thinki I need to reiterate the fact. I do not think you use me to my potential and I think you micromanage things thant don't necessarily need your undivided unattention. Evaulation time is coming up...Note to self, this will need repeating!

DH is grilling chicken, we will have salad and cranberry sauce for dinner.

Hopefully if the weather/rain  holds off I can get a dog walk in... hope you all have a great day.

I don't type so awful, but I think the keyboard needs new batteries, so I'm thinking faster than the keyboard will type.
