Excersize: short walk around echo park lake this morning

Diet: Breakfast: oatmeal and water. Lunch: turkey chili, grapes, luna bar. Snack: 2 tiny hamburgers (half the size of my palm) at appetizer bar, some carrots, celery - more water. Dinner: Chicken w/rice and guacamole - lettuce w/corn, salsa. Water to drink

Did okay today, maybe a bit high on the calorie side, im going to work out tomorrow and have fun at my friends 40th birthday party.

Still on track today, stepped on the scale and looks like it wasn't as bad as I thought, I was back down to 222.

Progress as of today: 83 lbs lost so far, only 32 lbs to go!

Oh, a walk around a lake...how wonderful! Sure does sound like FUN! YAYYYY!!! I LOVE looking at a lake of water or ocean waves water...it is SO relaxing!

Well for my 24th birthday, I got myself some new glasses, shoes, and about 4 1/2 pounds. Such bull ****.

Back on the horse, Im going to follow Dr. Ian Smith's Fat Smash book the next 10 days, in the past thats been a real winner for me. Im going to avoid breads and meats, stick to as many vegitables as I can find and steer clear of eating only once or twice a day.

Today: Excersize- weights in the morning, 5 mile run tonight.

Breakfast: oatmeal and water. Lunch: Brussels Spouts, Lentils, and 1 1/2 cup brown rice. More water. Snack: popcorn. Dinner: flattened bananas with peanut butter and almonds, an apple, and a luna bar. More water.

Supposedly im not to eat any dried fruits, so Im going to avoid the trader joe's flattened bananas even though they're a great snack.

Its 8:45 right now, I have about two hours worth of work to do, and Im a bit hungry. I think im going to go have some grapefruit.

I tallied up the days, and it looks like im 120 days away from my 3-year mark, when I started at 305 pounds. I really want to be under 200 by this day. In between then, Im touring and traveling so that will be hard, but I know I can work my way through it all.

I have come so far, and its frustrating to know Im 12 pounds heavier than I was in Feb.

So back to work I go, and im going to count the days - this is day 2 of 120, to the goal . . . .

Progress as of today: 78.6 lbs lost so far, only 36.4 lbs to go!

Exercise: light walk in the morning (still sore from an intense day on monday, needed to take it easy today)

Diet: breakast- oatmeal and water. snack - tortilla chips and a squirt. lunch - brown rice and lentils with a small bit of cheddar cheese, water and another squirt :-(. dinner - falafel plate w/hummus, green salad, brown rice and 1 small pita. late evening snack after gig - one rib from my friends plate of ribs, a couple of french fries, and some ice cream for dessert. More water to drink and a diet coke topped this meal

So after the gig, i was hungry and my friend was nice enough to share his ribs with me, but I just had one, and a bit of dessert as well. I should have avoided the squirt during the day - right there, each has 13% of my daily intake in carbohydrates alone! Soda is a no no for me right now and I should have known better. . . . .

tommorrow will be great though - 190 here I come!

Today was pretty strong, most mondays are.

workout: 7:30am, 100 crunches, seated/standing dumbell press, side raises, leg raises, bench dumbell press. 7:00pm - run 6.5 miles, moderate pace.

diet diary: breakfast- oatmeal, water, turkey jerky. lunch - 2 pieces of chicken, 1/2 cup brown rice, 2 soy protein corn dogs w/ketchup. snack - turkey jerky, flattened bananas w/peanut butter and almonds. dinner- chili con carne. late/evening snack - small piece of steak (just under the size of my fist) and some green leafys with vinegarette. I drank about 8 glasses of water today, and I probably should have drank more considering the heat.

Im going to go to the grocery store this week and load up on veggies and fruits. Im going to try and stop the bread for a few days as well as meat, and just stick to lentils and beans for protein. Hopefully this will add an additional jumpstart to my weight loss, and perhaps bring me back down near where I was in march.

my 24th birthday is next monday and I know Im going to splurge, so im just deciding that ahead of time, while knowing im not going to eat an entire cake. . .but perhaps a cupcake . . . .or two. . .haha.

190 here I come!

Things have been consistant for me the past two days. Definitely back on track, and now my goal is to just make it through the weekend, which is usually the hardest for me.

Today: Exercise, ran 5 miles through downtown and back up to Echo Park, and had a very active day walking around USC and then later Melrose ave, during my hunt for new glasses :-)

Diet: Breakast - oatmeal and water. snack 1- turkey jerky, almonds. snack 2- luna bar. snack 3/late lunch - chicken and rice bowl w/lettuce, black beans, tomatoes, salsa, light guacamole and a bit of cheese. dinner - minestrone soup w/ a little bread. water, water, water, water.

I resisted tempation at the restaurant with my friends during dinner to have pizza, instead ordered minestrone w/o cheese of course. Then while everyone else had soda, I had water. Ate at chipolte with my friends this afternoon and stayed far far far away from ordering a burrito, instead opted for a burrito bowl - no tortilla in other words. and of course, i drank more and more water. As much as possible.

Im feeling so much better now that I've had a sturdy week of being back on my diet plan. Im confident Ill go back to the grocery store this week and get more veggies, and lean proteins while staying away from the carbs. . . that will help me make more progress with all the exercising im doing. Trying not to over do it though.

Today: weights in the morning + 100 crunches. Evening - 4 mile walk.

Breakfast: oatmeal w/brown sugar, water. Lunch: 2 turkey dogs w/cuban style black beans and brown rice. 1 tbs guacamole. Dinner: flattened bannanas w/peanut butter and almonds. evening snack after workout - 2 soy corn dogs w/ ketchup. More water, water, water.

My results have been less than flattering. In march I was all the way down to 213. Then there was my travels, weekends out of town dining in italian restaurants with friends, my splurge at trader joes last week and eating an entire box of joe joes. Then my often nightly barbeques with the roomates and there friends over 3 or 4 burgers at 11:00pm, potato chips, steaks, rice and salad. . . . . . . yep. I fell off the horse hard. But tonight, my friends barbequed and i stayed away from the unauthorized foods.

And even so throughout all of this, I still excersized and Im back to trying to make up for lost time the past month and 1/2. My goal is still to be at 190 by august, so I better get a wake up call and start working on this.

I know I can get there, i've been close as of march. Sad to see it go backwards again. Regardless, I've still lost 75+ pounds.

I have done the same thing (go backwards) over the last several months (about 7 - 8 lbs), but I'm DONE with that. It seems so easy when I stay in a "controlled" environment where I can easily choose the food, how much and when, but when I get out of that controlled mode I wasn't getting the results I wanted and I was getting out of the mode often! On the other hand I don't want to be rigid with my lifestyle or approach to eating and food. That is actually "dangerous" for me (history of eating disorder), so I am concentrating on being flexible in certain situations. Like trying to make very reasonable choices even when I'm around more food than I'd "like" to be around by chosing a SMALL portion of a couple of things I wouldn't necessarily supply for myself if I could help it, but that I enjoy. Kind of damage control, so to speak. I should get plenty of chance to do this the next few days as my life requires me to be around a fabulous buffet at a race track, a church dinner and my husband's surprise birthday party at an Italian restuarant! Guess I'll report on my results! Good luck to you - welcome back and keep on fighting the good fight - you can do it - I believe you will reach your Aug goal!

Well, glad that ya came back and saw that you wer headed the wrong way... The hard work that goes into losing EVERY pound is to be reflected upon and remember the reason why we chose to make a lifestyle change in the first place..

While it pains me to write 5 weeks after all the crazyness of the past month, im eager to get back on track soon. I had been sick for a lot of february, nearly shedded 10 pounds, and they seem to have all come back on. I also spent 10 days on the road in Indonesia, amazing, yet the food choices were quite limited, and when available, usually in the category of slop food.

Im happy to report I am feeling much better, and frankly, glad I put back on a little weight after being sick with pnemonia. Now its down to business. I would like to return to the weight I was at earlier last month, but this time, Im going to get there by avoiding breads, white rice, potatoes, flour, sugar, soda, and for the next few days, lean meats. Ill add chicken and tuna later this month, but for now, Im strickly going vegitarian and gaining protein from beans, lentils, almonds, oatmeal, et al.

while I gained weight this past month, I have been exercising well. Running most days, but only until thursday have I started lifting weights. Im pretty certain that if I follow my strict diet routine 6 of 7 days a week plus follow a scheduled workout routine of weights and cardio then I know Ill get to my goals. Im very nervous to set dates and sound too enthused, after all I've been working on this now for almost 3 years. Im really ready to be done.

Okay, so for today I did very well.

Breakfast: 1 bowl oatmeal, 1/2 grapefruit. water. Lunch: garden salad w/chicken, vinegrette dressing on the side. water. Lunch pt. 2 - 1 1/2 cup chili, and some fruit snacks. More water. Dinner after run, oatmeal, granola bar, 1 veggie beef patty with 1 tbs homemade guacamole, 1 peach. dessert: 2 squares of dark chocolate. Yup, more water, water, water. I met the water goals today, at least 8 glasses, and my calorie count may have been on the high side, but I avoided breads. Had it not been for the fruit snacks, my carb count would have been at my goal too.

Exercise: Run from hermosa to manhattan beach - approx. 4.5 miles. felt great

Looking forward to returning to my entries, and also to my goal weight which as of today, Im still set on achieving.

I was reading your blog and I have have recently become vegan (although I still slip occasionally) maybe we can exchange healthy recipes. I too am trying to avoid processed, white flour, sugar foods. I need all the help I can get. But on the positive side I am finding great substitutes for dairy and meat so if you ever need ideas or have some let me know!

Just for fun, here's a "before" picture of me at Joshua Tree National Park back in March 2005, about 5 months before I had my moment that I decided to lose weight. Im at least 290 here - I had reached 305 later that summer. Im 6' 2" and I had a 52" + waist.

My brief absence this week has been a result of how sick I got, and therefore, I had no progress to take down in terms of my diet and excersize. However, just now this morning, I stepped on the scale, and amazingly, I've lost 2 pounds this week. Not sure exactly what that 2 pounds is, hope its not muscle. But Im happy to report, Im the lowest I've ever been, and now I know, Im out of 2007 plateau of hopping between 220 and 230. Im so elated right now, Im just extatic.

Yesterday I got back on track with my diet. Although I ate a bit too much of the trail mix from trader joe's, i still was consistant.

Breakfast: oatmeal and water. Lunch: chili w/black beans, peppers, onions, and tomatoes with a side of brown rice and artichoke hearts. Dinner: almonds, 1 grapefruit, more trail mix, and a granola bar. Lots of water I drank all day.

Today, Im going to try and up the anty in terms of my diet, I need to take in a few more calories because Im working out more now as well. Im also going to try and get that YMCA membership this weekend, I really really really miss being able to go to a gym. For now, Ill keep running, as thats a very affordable and enjoyable way for me to lose weight.

This morning, I ran for 35 minutes around the lake.

Alright, I want 190 by my birthday in May, and by the way things are going, It might be april that I actually get there! Cheers and thanks again for the support.
