Hello all! I had a good day yesterday, and I can feel the weight slipping off. Tomorrow morning is weigh-in day, and I hope I don't screw up today!

I ran around during slo-pitch yesterday so much that I thought I was going to puke. No lie. One inning while walking out to left field (they throw me around everywhere!) to play, I almost turned around and walked my old tired body home! I pitched after that, thank God. It was a little too much for me, but i'm sure I needed the exercise.

Yesterday I had a whole wheat bun with pb & j for breakfast, grilled chicken, brocolli and cauliflower for lunch and grilled chicken and corn for dinner. During the game I had 2 beer. I thought I deserved them, for being good for a couple days (!!) and also for drinking 4 litres of water.

Today i've had my bun for breakfast and i've got leftover chicken and corn in the fridge for lunch. I brought 3 litres of water to work with me and i'm hoping to be able to finish them, but so far I haven't even opened a bottle up! Okay, let's get to work....

I love it when the weight slips off! Good luck with weigh-in!

See, my boyfriend is out of town working, see. I'm a complete slob whenever he's not around. I say this because I didn't do any exercising yesterday except for the minute amount of walking and work it took to do the dishes.

Yesterday I ate 6 soda crackers with pb, a roast beef sandwich in an onion bun (it wasn't good, but very filling), a chicken breast with cooked brocolli and cauliflower, 1/2 an orange and a whole wheat bun with pb and j. I drank around 4 litres of water.

Today I get to play slo-pitch, so hopefully i'll get some exercise in that regard. I'm trying again to drink a lot of water during the day so that i'm not running to the bathroom during the games tonight. So far, 1 litre down. I had a whole wheat bun with pb and j for breakfast and i'm having leftover chicken and veggies for lunch and dinner today. 1/2 an orange in the afternoon, you know the plan. It's always the same! But, for me, that's okay. I love repetition. And I love complaining about it, too.

Hope you're all doing well.

I like the way pb fills me up and leaves me satisfied. Plus the taste. I haven't had it for awhile. Maybe tonight if I'm hungry at bedtime.

I was really in a slump yesterday. Everything hurt, I was grumpy and bored almost all night, and all I wanted to do was eat. You'll be happy to know that I didn't give in.

Yesterday I had 1/2 slice garlic toast, 3 breaded chicken fingers, 1/2 baked potato with butter, 1/2 cup of bean and carrots, 1/2 slice of honeydew melon, a whole package of brussel sprouts with sauce, one breast of chicken, one flax bun (still gotta get you that recipe biscotti, I keep forgetting!) with p.b. and jam, and 1/2 cup spitz while watching a fastball game.

I could've eaten a heck of a lot more than that last night, but I held out and thank goodness I did. I didn't drink a lot of water yesterday, only 2 litres, so hopefully today I can make up for that. I was not in a good mood yesterday. At all. Today it's supposed to be beautiful out. My plan is to get either soup or a sub for lunch today (no more leftovers!), an orange for the afternoon (didn't eat mine yesterday - maybe that's why I got so hungry) and a trip to the grocery store for dinner. Salmon? Perhaps.

I took a walk yesterday and I want to take another one today. Maybe try to jog too. We have a beautiful park nearby and it's a perfect spot to work on jogging. Bye all!

Ho ho, and the number magically gets smaller...

I did good this weekend. Friday night I went to a friend's place for a bbq and had one hot dog, salad with ranch dressing, one tablespoon of mashed potatoes and 1/2 slice white bread. I went out that night to the bar, and when I got home I ended up having 1/2 a serving of sunchips just because they were in the cupboard and I knew that. Saturday went well, I had chicken and veggies for lunch and for dinner, another orange and the other 1/2 serving of sunchips. I went out again this night, and didn't get to sleep until 8:30 Sunday morning! I had two scrambled eggs and 1/2 slice brown toast with jam and peanut butter on Sunday morning at A&W. Far cry from the momma burger with cheese and medium fries that I usually get, huh?! The rest of Sunday was good too. I had chicken and carrots for lunch and then I got to go out to a restaurant to eat dinner. My one day a week out to eat turned into three days this week (counting the bbq and the A&W breakfast). Oh well. At the restaurant I had salad with ranch dressing and a tomato slice, two breaded chicken fingers with dill dip, 1/2 a baked potato with butter and 1/2 a slice of garlic bread. I basically tried to split the meal in half so that I could have the other part of it today for lunch. Oh, I also had 1/2 slice of melon. Then my boyfriend and I went to the movies and I had three cups of popcorn without butter or salt. Plain popcorn. Ugh. But, it makes the difference. The little things you have to give up sometimes. So all in all, a great weekend.

Today I had 1/2 slice garlic bread for breakfast and you already know what i'm having for lunch. Dinner is leftover chicken with brussel sprouts. And an orange for a snack this afternoon. Have a good one!

Lost a little bit more, but still not at that magical mark yet. Biscottibody, i'll get that recipe to you next week, okay?

Yesterday was a good day. I had: 3 egg whites for breakfast, chicken breast and potatoes for lunch, a HUGE orange in the afternoon for a snack. I mean HUGE. Then chicken and cooked vegetables for dinner. I don't know how many calories are in each package of cooked veggies, but I ate the whole thing. I was very hungry last night! It's a miracle I didn't eat more! But anyways, i'm not done yet....

I then had to attend a meeting, where I had a vodka paralyzer. After that, although I swore to myself that I wouldn't go out and I would get my butt home and do the dishes, I got a phone call from a old schoolfriend and he wanted to go for a drink. Three beers, a peanut butter and jam flax bun later and a pouty jealous boyfriend in tow, I finally hit the sack. Without, might I add, doing the dishes.

I was really tired yesterday afternoon, very sluggish and just wanting to go home and sleep. I wonder what today will bring, as so far I feel fine. I didn't get as much sleep as usual, but I still feel okay. Depending on how i'm feeling this afternoon, I might want to try not getting so much sleep. Maybe that's the problem?

Hi legcramps,

Thanks for your advice on counting calories. It really made sense to me. I think I'm going to do exactly that - if I'm eating the right foods then I won't bother, if not then I'll try to limit the damage by counting it all up. That way I hopefully won't find myself passing up the fruits and vegetables just so I can squeeze that chocolate cake into my day!

I did pretty good yesterday, considering. I ate: 1 twix chocolate bar, two flax buns with peanut butter and jam spread, leftover cooked onions (1/4 cup) and a couple potato slices (cooked), a fruit arrangement in the afternoon (strawberries, grapes, melon and an orange slice), and grilled chicken with potatos for dinner. I also drank 3.5 litres of water.

For exercise, I played slo-pitch for one and a half hours. I will count only half an hour of exercise for this, since last night I wasn't running around half as much as I normally do. This was because they stuck me on the pitcher's mound instead of in the field. Oh well. I also snuck in three beer while playing. After ball, I went for a 45 minute brisk walk. I accomplished everything I set out to do last night! I just can't believe it.

I feel good today, even though the weather is terrible. I think it might be because I didn't weigh myself down with late night eating and too much caffeine. I'm starting on the water and I brought 3 litres with me to work, so hopefully I can make the 3.5 mark again today.

I also lost a pound and a half so far, but i'm not posting it because i'm still not back to 141. Ah, soon tiny grasshopper....soon.

biscottibody59 on 07/08/2004:
I feel for you with the "getting back"--I'm trying to get back to 150ish and wondering if I will be able to get BELOW that then. Sheesh!

Sounds like you're fighting the good fight! Oh, and flax buns sound good, even though I have no clue what they're like--could you enlighten me?

Have a good one!

biscottibody59 on 07/08/2004:
Yes! I'd love to have the recipe for the flax buns when you get the chance--they sound so healthy! Thanks for the comments!

Thanks borntocry for the info. I'm going to check out that website just as soon as I can!

I failed miserably yesterday by heading out for fast food - AGAIN! I tell you something right now - IT'S GOING TO STOP!!! Right now! Starting today. I'm sick of stuffing myself and then feeling horrible the next day. I'm now officially only eating out on Sundays. The good thing about yesterday was that I sucked down a lot of water during the day.

I'm also going to start exercising today. I found out about water aerobics in another town about 1/2 hour away and i'm going to check that out next week and see if it's something I could do. But today, i'm going to take a walk. Right after work i'm going to drive to the grocery store and get some food for supper. While it's marinating i'm going to take a quick walk around, for about 1/2 hour. Then eat supper, play slo-pitch and tonight go for another quick 1/2 hour walk before setting out to do the dishes. My goal is to get at least 6 hours of exercise each week. If I exercise everyday for one hour, that gives me one day a week off.

This morning I feel clear-headed and I feel like I know what I need to do. This is a great feeling, I only hope it lasts for at least 10 days, to start these good habits!!

Yesterday was a good day I guess. I had: one ounce pork chop with one baked potato and 1/4 cup cooked onions, one cookie, one serving chips, 6" ham and turkey sub on wheat with lettuce, pickles, mayo and mustard with cheddar cheese slices, one cookie and one serving of chips. That's better than I thought it would be with all the food sitting around my apartment. Yeah, I have all this food sitting around and yet I have to go uptown to buy my dinner!

Today's plan is leftovers.

Today when I get home from work i'm going to take a nap. And then eventually i'll have to try and figure out why i'm so tired. I went to sleep at 10pm last night and got 9 hours of sleep. I shouldn't be tired.

borntocry on 07/06/2004:
Hi legcramps,

Thanks for the comment you left me! It's hard to believe all the compliments I've gotten on my motivation... I'm actually incredibly lazy and it is really hard for me to force myself to exercise. But I think it does make a difference.

If you want to try your hand at cooking some day, take a look at www.allrecipes.com! I use loads of recipes from that website. It's really convenient because you can search for the kind of recipes that interest you and then you can see how other users have rated them. You can also see the nutritional information for each recipe, with calories, carbohydrates, fats etc. Or if you have ingredients lying around the house which you want to use up, you can search for recipes using those ingredients.

Well anyway, good luck and thanks for the encouragement!

I had a great weekend camping! It was so much fun, I can't wait for the chance to do it again! The van worked out even better than I had anticipated, and everyone was in great spirits for most of the trip! My boy got a little pouty a couple of times - once because my friend and I wanted to go see the Canada Day fireworks and he wanted to go to the bar with a few friends that went camping to the same campground as us. He drove us to the fireworks and then pouted the whole time. I told him once that he could walk back and I could drive the van (i'm not good with big vehicles) back to the campsite but he wouldn't. If you're going to stay then, why not make the best of it? The second time he had a little much to drink and had to turn in early and I stayed up. Can you believe he got cranky at me for not going to bed when he went to bed?!!! Argh. Men.

Eating was okay, but mostly pork and steaks. Potatoes, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and corn for veggies, with cheese whiz melted on! Bacon for breakfast with flax buns and eggs. Oh, it was all so good. Dessert was marshmallows of course, with chocolate chip cookies. I tried to cool it on the cookies and ended up only having five over four days. Not bad.

Today's lunch is pork with potatoes and onions. Dinner same thing. One of these days i'm going to have to cook up some chicken. I think i'm going through withdrawal.

Thanks for the comment, Kayla. And you're right - we should always embrace life with both hands, but sometimes life sneakily puts tar all around itself and makes it very hard to embrace.

Yesterday I had: 1 boiled potato with 1/2 serving whole wheat noodles, 2 brussel sprouts, a few cookies from grandma (with no icing or anything on top - but they were sugar cookies so that kind of defeats the purpose anyways) and three pieces of pizza. I don't know, for some reason i'm on a pizza kick. Actually, I went to Robin's Donuts to get a ham and cheese sandwich on whole wheat and changed my mind at the last minute because it was super busy in the restaurant and I didn't feel like waiting a really long time for food. So I got pizza instead. Pepperoni. Gotta stop doing that though, I can feel my weight moving up slowly. Still haven't weighed myself but I can sure tell that a couple pounds are haunting me again.

Today's plan: 1/2 boiled potato with 1/2 serving whole wheat noodles, 3 brussel sprouts and a quick ham and cheese on brown from somewhere. Hopefully this time I don't change my 'unable to make decisions' mind.
