Wednesday: 40 minute walk (twice at work); washed the garage and deck, cleaned up patio furniture. Felt like I did more than what the reality is...

Local baseball team WON last night 3-2, so game four is tonight. It'll be a nail-biter for sure! It would be delicious if they could pull out the clincher on home territory.

Chicken, wild rice & quinoa, sauteed veggies for dinner, sunflower seeds (1 serving) at the ball game, added pecans and chocolate chips for an after-game snack before bed. Very good day.

I really need to get groceries today, and water. All that's left in my world is canned food and about a 1/2 cup of cooked rice, besides the usual staples. I have a crapload of almond milk to finish up - I bought it with the intention of making oatmeal for breakfasts, but the oatmeal I bought needs to be cooked and everyone knows that's not how I roll with breakfast foods LOL. Can't even do overnight oats with it, so it's been relegated to the "baking ingredients" cupboard.

So a 20 minute walk at lunch, pick up groceries and water, do some yardwork (transfer tomatoes, clean up empty pots, maybe cut the front grass?) and head to game four tonight.

A few more days of work, and i'm back on days off. Summer holidays are priceless.

I have porridge/oatmeal every morning but my eyes don't open quickly so I prepare it the night before. I measure out the oats (regular), cinnamon and dried fruit if I'm using and put the bowl in the microwave. Then I measure out a mix of water and almond or soy milk and put it in a container in the fridge. All I have to do is dump in the fluid and zap. A splash of milk after it's cooked and that's it. :)

I have a lot of friends that prepare their breakfast the night before... eggs, omelets, oatmeal... I think it's a least worth a shot!

Good idea and making breakfast in advance. Or you could make oatmeal bars with them, which also make a good breakfast on the go (but not as filling as a bowl of oatmeal). Great that you get a lot of time off in the summer!

Have you ever thought of getting a mulching blade for your mower? I simply wouldn't mow anymore if I had to bag clippings. Your yard must look beautiful!

It does mulch, but I choose to bag the grass instead. I don't really have a good reason, except for that most of the time, the grass is too long to just mulch it ;)

Congrats to the home team winning!! It's crazy how in the morning I am not in the mood for traditional breakfast food which is why I do my shakes..On the weekend(especially when I am hungover) I will tear some bfast food up! Ya dig ;) LOL Great job on the lawn work, have a good evening friend :)

Yesterday was a 20 minute walk at lunch; pulled weeds for about half an hour and worked up a bit of a sweat. Dinner was leftover chinese. Grandma and I split whatever was left of the chinese food, and i'm sure we both got two more meals out of it. 7 meals for $23.00 is pretty spiffy, no? I visited a friend for a bit, and then cooked up the chicken, some more wild rice and quinoa, and sauteed brussel sprouts, carrots and green beans together. I'll have this for lunch and dinner today. And then i'll need to get groceries, unless I want to eat rice and hummus for the rest of the week.

Another walk at lunch; hoping to continue the yardwork today, maybe clean up the deck a bit and spray the garage with the garden hose. Must water plants today as well. And then WMBL BASEBALL FINALS, GAME THREE! We are tied at 1-1, best of 5 games. How awesome if our local team walked away with the trophy. This is better than the majors, people ;)

Weight: 168.0

Monday: Chinese food for dinner (Mom's choice, not mine!), plus there had to be nearly FIVE MILLION different kinds of dessert. I will never understand.

Exercise: Walk 20 minutes at lunchtime; scramble after work for a last-minute add-on to Mom's gift.

Watched slo-pitch with a friend, went home and watered the plants, then called it a day. Watched the Bourne Ultimatum - fell asleep partway through.

Tuesday: I brought leftover chinese for lunch, plus some additional wild rice and quinoa, some strawberries for breakfast, and carrot cake for an afternoon snack. If it makes it that far LOL. And there's chicken thawing in the fridge for dinner tonight. Lots of veggies with that - brussel sprouts (my favorite), carrots, green beans.

Exercise: Lunchtime walk and whatever yardwork I can get in.

legcramps - Monday Aug 12, 2013

Weight: 168.0

Thursday: up early; 4 hours yardwork; deep tissue massage; made a batch of banana bread.

Friday: 5 hours yardwork; almost passed out on the grass outside; nearly vomited; realized I had overdone it on the yardwork, so called it a day mid-afternoon. Went to a neighbor's bbq for a few hours.

Saturday: field trip with Dad to a historical church; watered some plants; was visited by friends who bought me a decoration for the yard. such nice people :)

Sunday: woke up with a headache, so nixed the folk festival and stayed at home napping, taking advil, and enjoying some extra rest.

I was eating well through the week and then Sunday hit, where I was not feeling like myself and had the whole day to be bored. Yes, a few too many trips to the kitchen. Ended with dinner of rice, stir-fried veggies, and a beef patty, but already did the damage during the day with chips, ice cream, and banana bread. Can't win them all.

Monday: coffee, rice, veggies and beef patty, yogurt, apple, dinner at Grandma's for Mom's b-day.

Exercise: 15 minute walk at lunchtime; water plants and perhaps start on the dandelions (depending on time).

Crap, LC. Can you get any help over there ? We don't want you to over-do it either. Ryc,I have three medium size gardens that I am planting at different times of the year. It seems to be working for me.

Thanks OR. I did have help, I just had a lot more yardwork than most people. I've since vowed to never let it get that way again. I'm gonna try just 20 minutes a day and see how it goes. The good news is that the biggest stuff is done, so now I only need to concern myself with maintenance!

Oh, dear - I am thinking sunstroke on Saturday, almost. I have gotten so overheated on my road bike that I have felt like that - hope you got some hydration and are feeling better! The BBQ probably helped!!! The chruch visit with dad sounds great!

Tuesday: 30 minute walk at work (walked twice); took the evening off!

Wednesday: 6 hours yardwork, with help from friends.

I got the rest of the week off work, so that I could continue my yardwork roll. Tomorrow afternoon I head to a deep tissue massage that will likely hurt, but in the morning more yardwork is planned. Some transplanting, more pulling of wild grass, and perhaps bagging grass clippings. Lots more still to do! But things are looking awesome so far. And I still despise yardwork.

Made a batch of beef burritos which are delicious.

Must go turn off the water to the flower beds. Goodnight!

Friday: 30 minute walk (walked twice) at work

Saturday: 5 hours of yardwork; dinner out with a friend in the evening

Sunday: 5 hours of yardwork

Monday: 3 more hours of yardwork; coffee with a friend in the afternoon; laundry and cleaning

It might be hard to believe, but I am still not done the yardwork. I have made great strides however, and i'm very pleased with myself. Very pleased indeed. I may have also lost 8 pounds of waterweight. And next year I think i'll pay someone to do the yardwork for me. Even if they take half my paycheque. I've decided I despise yardwork.

Today just going to get through the workday, see if I can take the rest of the week off on holidays, maybe golf if it doesn't rain. Plan to do a 15 minute walk at lunchtime for sure.

Tonight might watch the end of the Ladies' British Open first round. I am coming upon a three-day weekend (Monday is our Civic Holiday). Saturday must pick up a used dresser and chair I bought for the spare room (finally furnishing it with something other than beds and stuffed toys), then major yard work. Sunday more yard work. Monday more yard work, but a "sleep in later than usual" lazy morning. Also have some house work to do.

Only the 15 minute walk for exercise yesterday; I lounged around at home after work and then went to the baseball game.

Fart, there's so much I have to do; i've been procrastinating almost everything. Need to get moving! Sigh, probably won't be today though.

I accidentally purposely bought fast food for dinner yesterday. However, I didn't binge - had some sunflower seeds at the baseball game and a snack of crackers and cheese when I got home afterwards, and that was it. Major improvement over the day before, with the pb & j binge.

I wish today was Friday. Also people in this town need to start expecting less of me; I am sick of constantly disappointing both myself and others. So sick of it that i'm ready to sell my house and move. Seriously. I was looking at jobs this morning and I found one in the city that I would be able to do and would probably pay more. Seriously considering this. Doesn't hurt to apply for it, even if I change my mind in the end.

This morning has been a bit of a whirlwind at work and i'm frustrated and can't wait for lunchtime to walk some of it off.

After work yesterday, I ate a chocolate bar while putting my car through the car wash. Then it started raining. Bloody hell.

Got home and started cooking:

Wild rice and quinoa, stir-fried vegetables, steamed carrots and a beef patty (no bun)

pb and j sandwiches (binge). AWE. SOME.

Ended up not reaching my water goal.

I did a cardio combat workout last evening; only made it 15 minutes into the workout but it's a start. Strange to not feel limber or reflexive anymore. I think a lot has changed since knee surgery. With my 15 minute walk at lunch, that made 30 minutes of activity yesterday.

 I Can't bring myself to play ball; I am frustrated with a few teammates, and also the fact that so many people show up to play; we sit the bench almost every 2nd inning. Not cool with me. I could be doing something far more productive, even if - like last night - I don't. The point is that I could be. End Vent.

Good post. Does your local car wash give out rain checks - sometimes here they will let you wash it again free if it rains within 24 hours and you show receipt, etc.....

Been feeling weird lately, can't explain it. Just off. Lethargic. Slow.

Napped after work; pulled some weeds; tried out the weed trimmer. Stronger arms may be required.

Did NOT eat well but won't dwell on it. A new day today.

It didn't start well, though - I wanted to walk again. When I left the house it was raining, so with a heavy heart I decided not to walk and to drive instead. Half an hour later, when I left to drive to work, the sun was shining and no rain whatsoever. Someone is plotting against me.

Jet Fuel coffee 1/2 cup; bagel with light cream cheese
