Breakfast - cereal, flaxseed, almond milk

I'll have to record breakfasts for awhile until I break my bagel habit.

Core & Balance class this morning; crushed. I even managed to dig a little deeper and burn a few extra calories haha. I'm really beginning to enjoy getting these morning workouts in. Just a little while ago, I was whining and crying (you might recall some of those whiney posts) about not being able to get up early. Now, I just do it.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself LOL.

I spent the evening in front of my computer watching movies last night. Today, it's on the cool side - a cold breeze and overcast skies - so I might be snuggling up  under the couch pillows once more tonight ;O)

That's wonderful that you're looking forward to the morning workouts. There's definitely a mental hurdle to get over with working out, I'm constantly fighting with it myself. It's been super cold here at night too so your plan sounds great!

It's a money thing with the houseboy. White and processed foods are cheaper than whole. Why buy all that chicken and stuff when the freezer is full of homegrown beef and pork? Of course, his beef is corn-fed and from what I have been reading about that, I'd rather go to the whole food store and buy grass-fed beef. And he's afraid we'll lose weight. I don't know why he would care if I do but he doesn't want Mom to because he doesn't like skinny women.

I like curling up with movies and tv shows on hulu.com also. It makes me feel like I'm not alone.

legcramps - Tuesday Apr 24, 2012

Core Cardio & Balance class this morning. It took awhile for me to get warmed up during this workout - normally, Shaun T can pump you up almost right off the bat, but this class is a little on the 'take it easy', 'concentrate on your core', 'don't wear yourself out' side. I have to tell you, it was VERY difficult to not go all out on the workout and end up dead on the floor. I had to really keep telling myself to take it easy.

Don't get me wrong, though... I was still spent by the end of the workout, but in a good way

I have a feeling my shoulders and arms are going to be sore this week.

Also, my knee snapped or cracked or popped during the workout. I felt it give out a little. I will have to wear my tensor for these workouts, and quite possibly the month 2 workouts as well but we'll see when we get there.

Diet - I was getting into the habit of eating a bagel for breakfast each morning and I need to get myself out of this habit due to the easy ability to gain bagel weight (that's the weight around my middle haha). So this morning was a big bowl of cereal with flaxseed and almond milk. Yum!

That is all.

LOL @ your comment, those black bean burgers rock. And you probably are craving protein, when I was doing P90X every day I really had to ramp up the protein intake because I was HUNGRY all the time! RE breakfast, I used to eat bagels all the time years ago and really had to work to get myself out of the habit. Your cereal sounds look a good substitute, anything high protein is a great way to kick off the day.

Yesterday was such a nice day, I skipped my Insanity workout in favour of taking a nice walk outside and oh boy was it ever worth the extra dose of vitamin D! It was so gorgeous outside yesterday i'm sure I could have worn a t-shirt while I was walking, and probably even start a bit of a tan! Yippee for Spring!

Since i've been doing the Insanity workouts, i've noticed that I really tend to sleep in a little extra on the weekends. I was starting to enjoy getting up early and having a whole day to do stuff, but now I sleep past 9am for sure. Oh well! I did notice this morning that the sun had already risen by 5:30am, so I don't think it will be too difficult to get up earlier on weekends throughout the summer.

Plowed through a plyometrics workout this morning and am now officially on week 5 - Recovery Week! Yay me! And i'm also back to being scared of month 2 LOL!!! Simply because i'm still sweating profusely after the month 1 workouts, and also because my legs are wicked weak man! They're like jelly after I workout.

I think i've gotten an infection in the cavity where my tooth used to be, so i've called in a prescription for anti-biotics and hopefully the pain will go away in the next week or so. Man, I just have such bad luck with dentistry! I've gone through too many bottles of advil to admit to without pulling shame face.

Our ball diamonds are still full of water so practice was cancelled yesterday and rescheduled for this weekend. Great, since I hadn't actually looked for my ballglove yet! Can't wait to start playing though!

Don't be afraid girl :) Just think back to a month ago when you press play for the first time..If you survived that you will survive month 2. make sure you are getting enough fuel on the more intense days and modify the moves if you need to :) You Rock Legcramps <3

I'm not so sure I can "love life" right now even with more energy and a lean physique. There are too many other emotionally heart-wrenching and financially difficult things happening right now. I may have more energy to do things and keep up with things and maybe even to be angrier and more bitter but until certain things are set right, there can be no love for life.

Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs class - DEMOLISHED!!!

Yesterday I was feeling really antsy about missing Insanity, so this morning when I woke up I decided I was going to give it another try. This time I was able to not only FINISH both classes, but i'm pretty confident that I ROCKED them!

So now I have to choose between getting a double workout in today or leaving the next workout until tomorrow which is my rest day.

I fueled up really well for a workout today, and i'm still feeling great so I might just get that other workout in at some point this afternoon!

I was feeling extra slim today, so I checked my measurements. The last time I checked, which was April 1st, I had lost 4 inches off my body since beginning the Insanity program. Today i've lost almost 10 inches! Another 6 inches since the beginning of the month! Crazy! With over a month left to go, i'm pretty sure i'll exceed my expectations of this program :)

Laundry and chores to do today, some grocery shopping and a coffee date with friends later on.

Yep, I kinda LOVE today!

I tried to get a pure cardio and cardio abs class in this morning, but as soon as I started jumping around during the warm-up, my jaw started aching. I don't want to push things, so i'll take a rest day and see how i'm feeling tomorrow.

I'm feeling a little confused in the head. Must be Friday LOL!!! No really, I just feel disoriented for some reason. Today is the first day since getting my tooth pulled that i'm not taking anymore painkillers unless absolutely necessary, so maybe i'm going through withdrawal LOL. Whatever it is, it can go away anytime.

Geez, i'm so brain-frazzled I can't even think of anything else to say! I guess i'll sign off then!

What kind of meds did they prescribe you? After my surgery 4 yrs ago, they sent me home with a generic form of oxycotins and I was OUT of it, I mean dazed and very confused.. After a week I did research as to what I was taking and after that, no more :( I hope you feel better my friend <3

Going off the painkillers will do that to you - after both my c-sections I wondered why things suddenly got SO difficult all of a sudden. Duh, I had gone off the painkillers ;) I posted an update on hubby's show, it was awesome and 2 members of Parliament Funkadelic showed up to play with them, very cool!

I got my tooth pulled yesterday so i've been taking it easy lately.

I did my Insanity Plyometrics workout yesterday morning before going to the dentist. It was awesome! I didn't even mind the level 1 drills, just shut up and did them. Well, most of them LOL.

I also did Insanity this morning because it was the Recovery workout LOL, if it would have been any other workout I probably would have taken a rest day because of possible jaw throbbiness afterwards ;) Also, there was no sleeping in for me this morning - my eyes were wide open and ready to go LOL even if the rest of me wasn't!

A little crazy at work today, thankfully tomorrow it really will be Friday and I won't disappoint myself when I say "TGIF" for realz. It looks really sunny outside but I have no idea if it's nice out. Sometimes that sun can be deceiving, especially in Canada LOL. I'd love it if some warmth would leak into my bones today.

Even though i've just had oral surgery and should be feeling less than stellar, I kinda feel like i'm on top 'o the world. I can probably attribute that feeling to the painkillers though.

Oh right, it's only Tuesday.


Cardio Power & Resistance class this morning. I made sure to eat enough calories yesterday and I got through the workout quite nicely today. Also, I think this class might be my favorite, so it wasn't hard to exceed yesterday's effort.

Today I am concentrating on getting my calories in. I haven't been losing a whole lot of weight recently because of the Insanity program and having to take in a lot more calories than i'm used to; i'm okay with this because I see the results of my efforts in terms of inches and health. Even though i'm still ready for bed pretty early on weeknights, i've been noticing a bit of an increase in energy throughout the workday.

Nothing on the plan for today except getting a couple of toiletries for the bathroom. I should probably start looking at purchasing new batting gloves. We have our first practice coming up this weekend and we start playing May 2nd. I should try to be ready.

Girl I too have to make sure I eat enough especially on the days I burn a zillion calories with the two a days.. It really does affect progress if you are not eating enough but if your measurements continue to decrease, i really wouldn't worry about the number on the scale..I have yet to try out all of the Insanity classes but so far the Insane Abs and Cardio Core and Balance are my faves :) I am doing the countdown til my Insanity/Asylum Hybrid.. I am all shades of fired up for this..I really want to try out one of the Asylum classes that is calling me from the beachbody box :( I guess I should be patient and I guess I should also be careful what I wish for...LOL... RYC, hahahahahaha so sometime in the near future,another lip curling down diarist will do the same to YOU once you become a pushup fanatic! LOL <3 Have a good one :)

I need another day off, I am soooooo tired! What a busy weekend; Friday evening dinner and visit at Grandma's, Saturday drive to watch cousin play hockey, then dinner and movie night with friends, Sunday drive to city to drop aunt off at airport and visit Dad. Sunday evening collapse on couch and do not move for over three hours

I swapped another family night on Saturday so that I could spend time with my friends, and got the gears for not being around to talk about important 'family related issues'. I'd like to know how difficult it must have been to call and let me know there were important family issues being discussed, but whatever. Water off the back! Even though I have to deal with the repercussions of said discussions. It's funny how I manage to end up with the workload when I wasn't even involved in the discussion in the first place...

Enough of that.

The highways were bad on my way back from the city last night, so I made an executive decision and stayed home instead of playing wallyball. Though I really missed playing, and I hope we're not done for the season because I want to keep playing! I spent the extra time on the couch. Seriously, it was a real chore just to fold my laundry and put together my food for today!

The exhaustion crept into this morning as well and I was once again unable to do the Cardio Abs portion of my Pure Cardio Insanity workout. I will have to do this after work. And then fall into bed promptly afterwards! There is no oompf to my step today, so if you have some extra energy send it my way!

Obviously you needed the rest and sometimes emotional stuff can zap the energy right out of you..There is nothing wrong with breaking up the class in instances like this.. Oh and you can borrow some energy from me anytime :)

Power and Resistance class this morning; gawd I still hate the pushups! Actually, what I hate most are things like suicide jumps, globe jumps or anything that has me flitting around from jumping in the air to touching the ground. I must have vertigo because this really bothers my head  Just call me Miss Dizzy.

Anyways, TANGENT, it was a good class and I burned near to 300 calories so I feel a little poopered! My calories yesterday were close to 1,700 and today i'm thinking will be around the same.

I think this is the first day of the Insanity program where i've actually looked forward to month 2 instead of dreading it!

Busy weekend ahead - when all i'd really like to do is sleep, there are two birthdays and a hopeful release from hospital for Dad. Yikes! Two aunts coming into town, a cousin and her four kids, my Dad's niece... etc. etc. I am overwhelmed and have no time for my friends! I feel so bad about that, but what can you do? Hopefully i'll also be able to spend a few hours on my own so that I can zone out with a good movie or something.

LOL!! I used to HATE pushups too..Now I look forward to them.. You can always go to your knees instead of plank if you are spent with them.. These things take time, but you will be a pushup Ninja assassin when it is said and done <3

Cardio Recovery this morning is complete! Sticking to the schedule, even though I felt like I could have rocked out a plyo class this morning without grumbling too much LOL. Too bad the hard classes aren't scheduled for the days when i'm ready to take them on ;)

My eating was great yesterday, 88g of protein! Woohoo, LOL  let's hear it for the sista! I'm shooting for the same amount today because I assume i'm going to have a hell of a workout waiting for me in the morning tomorrow!

Other than that, all is quiet in legland. Slopitch schedules came out yesterday and I will miss a whole lot of games as well as the entire playoffs, which seriously pisses me off. But i'll swallow it and move on, remembering that when i'm missing games it means it's because i'm somewhere in Hungary soaking up some.... thing or other. That will make up for it!

Speaking of trips to Hungary, second planning session is scheduled for tonight. Hopefully we'll be able to book some accommodations.

WoooHOO!! It sounds like you have Shaun T fever, I ain't mad at ya!! LOL I can't wait for my P90 program to be over(who would have thunk it) so I can totally devote my time to Shaun with Insanity/Asylum hybrid :) So far Cardio Core and balance is the chillest class I have tried so far, not to mention the killer ab moves in class <3 It is considered a recovery class so although he says to take it easy, he still encourages going gor it if ya got it in you :) I hope you had a good day!!
