Positive - Haha, caught me at a bad time.  It's mid-afternoon and all I want to do is go home.  But if I had to say... it would be that i'll get to see a good friend later tonight.

Things are hectic.  I lost a week's worth of work that needs to be done by Sept 2nd.  I don't know that i'm willing to commit another week towards the same job.  Grandma went through knee surgery yesterday.  She's doing well, as sharp a mind as ever before, and an even sharper tongue!  Girls' camping trip this weekend to prepare for.  Attending a vigil tonight for the international fight against bullying.  Slo-pitch Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday.  Please, girls, find me a rock I can crawl under. 

OH!  And a baby to meet, which I doubt very much i'll get to do since they leave town today sometime and... well... i'm still at work.  I was undecided about going anyways, it's my X's sister and her husband's baby.  Since X and I are no longer on speaking terms, it's a tad bit awkward as you might well imagine.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - banana smoothie, coffee, bran muffin

Lunch - burger and onion rings

Snack - tbd

Dinner - cabbage rolls and baked potato with cheese

Exercise - I'd like to take the dog for a walk today after work.  The poor thing is getting a dental tomorrow morning, so she needs all the attention i'm able to give her.

Other - Bullying vigil tonight.  Then a warm bath.  Then bed.

P.S. - I might be going on a coffee date in the near future.  Look at me back in the game!

Busy, busy, busy! Just remember to take it slow every now and then and allow yourself an escape. Personally, I like chamomile tea and a trashy book or magazine. I'm glad that your Grandma is doing so well!

Positive - It was a really good weekend.

Friday night went well - the girls did an amazing job with the song they wanted to learn, and the night didn't go on forever which I was very thankful for.  I did some yardwork on Saturday, and took the dog for a walk for about 45 minutes.  Then I went to the church to watch the girls practice.  Attended church on Sunday (which is so lovely to do, even if it's fleeting and not very often) and stayed after for the lunch.  In the afternoon, I went to the park with my friend and her family to help celebrate her parent's 50th Anniversary.  It was a wonderful day, very humid though.  I was beat by the time I got home last night - I slept through some apparently wicked thunder and lightening and didn't even notice.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - mocha, banana muffin

Lunch - cabbage rolls

Snack - blueberries, banana

Dinner - not sure. might try to get together with the girls to plan a camping trip this weekend.

Exercise - slo-pitch, but that probably won't happen because it's raining pretty hard here today.

Other - no other.  I think that's enough.

Well, you see I switched from Alpo for a better taste.....nah! Just kidding. Puppy Chow is a sweet treat that is quite popular around here. It has melted choc chips, peanut better mixed with Chex cereal and then shaken with powered sugar and it's wonderful! I ate too much of it!

Glad you got some good sleep! The zucchini "fries" are going to be an experiment. I made eggplant "fries" on Friday by putting an eggplant through my fry slicer. Then I just baked them with Pam until they got crispy. They came out great, so I'm gonna try the same with the zucchini. I'll report in on how they come out tomorrow.

Positive - it's Friday!  the day i've been waiting for all week!

I am doing so well with sleep (I hope I didn't jinx myself).  7 hours last night.  It is helpful to think about something positive, then I find I go to sleep a lot more quickly than if i'm thinking about something that's upsetting.  I know, it's not rocket science right?! but sometimes we forget how to solve the most simple of problems because we are lost in those problems.

I was disappointed to be kept at home all night yesterday waiting for a call from a friend.  I never did receive a call, so i'm hoping she's okay and just brushed me off - better than the alternative!

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, oatmeal bar

Lunch - ?? I will be near a car dealership at lunch, no time to go home - there's only an A&W around there. Or I could walk a bit and get a sub sandwich and maybe some sun chips or something.

Snack - I forgot to bring anything; maybe i'll pick something up at lunchtime.

Dinner - smokie (no bun) with brown rice. or... not. I don't know.

Exercise - cutting the lawn

Other - I need to help a friend and three others learn to sing a couple of songs tonight.  Should be fun!

I am glad it's Friday, i've had such a week.  I have nothing scheduled for Saturday so far, and an anniversary to attend on Sunday.  Let's hope it's a beautiful weekend!

legcramps - Thursday Aug 19, 2010

Weight: 164.0

Positive - No more ball for the rest of the week!  Practically one more day until the weekend!  Had a great ;-) dream last night that had nothing to do with my past and everything to do with a possible future!  I woke up absolutely giddy this morning!

We won last night - we start playoffs next week, on Monday.  I had one drink after the game then headed home.  Managed to get 7 & 1/2 hours of sleep.  I also did the dishes and cleaned up the house a bit.  My dog needs a walk, and i'm hoping to do that today.  I miss walking her - with all the ball and yardwork I haven't had time or i've been too tired to take her out - I enjoy it though and i'm sure she does as well.  She gets enough exercise in the backyard every day, but I feel that walking her gives us bonding time together.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, bagel, carrot cake. omg. so good. but so bad.

Lunch - hamburger patty, potato and carrot

Snack - blueberries

Dinner - hamburger patty, potato and carrot

Exercise - walk dog

Other - I have a coffee date this evening with a friend to go over a possible joint business venture.

Congrats on winning the game and having a positive, pleasant dreams. I sure your dog would love a walk at your convenience. Aren't animals the best? I go to a local printer not only because it's local but because the owner always has his dog on site and it's so great to be greeted by a wagging tail. :)

Damn I had a good day yesterday.  I made the appts I needed to make.  After work I bought another tap for the bathroom tub.  45 minutes later it was installed.  It probably should have only taken 10 minutes but i'm not competitive like that.  No really, it has nothing to do with the fact that I had no idea what I was doing.  Then I played ball.  I hurt my back trying to "grip it and rip it" as told by a teammate.  Instead of going out for drinks so that I could complain about my back to everyone, I went straight home and took a nice warm bath.  I had no problems sleeping last night, after only a short while of tossing and turning, I landed at least 8 hours of sleep.

Positive - One more day of ball this week.  One more day.  One more.  One.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, bun with peanut butter

Lunch - homemade pizza (on english muffin) X 2

Snack - blueberries, might try some tea this afternoon

Dinner - fruit smoothie, maybe a hamburger patty with rice

Exercise - slo-pitch

Other - I did so well getting everything done yesterday that i'm thinking I should reward myself tonight by not making a to-do list.  The only thing i'd like to see myself do is dishes.  Oh and light cleaning.  And maybe I could fix my VCR clock.  Huh.  Look at that.  Looks like a to-do list to me...

I started out the morning feeling sorry for myself.  I was all "I need a good day - tout de suite!" and "people just need to start doing things MY WAY" blah flippin' blah.  But I squashed that feeling after about 20 minutes, because it gets me nowhere.  I have the power to change my own thoughts.

I did the toss and turn again last night.  Under 7 hours for sure.  When I looked in the mirror this morning, my cheeks were pink and my eyes a little baggy.  The effects of not enough sleep are starting to appear!  Thanks loveray for the information on Gaia, i'll definitely check this out.

Positive - I will be dead tired by the end of the day, but it will be the END of the day!  One more day closer to Friday!

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, berry xtreme muffin

Lunch - homemade pizza (on english muffin) X 2

Snack - blueberries

Dinner - fruit smoothie - not sure what else (need to plan better)

Exercise - slo-pitch

Other - I really need to buy myself new taps for the bathroom tub.  Hopefully i'll remember to look for this today after work.  Also need to make an appt for my dog at the vet, and an appt for an oil change, and pick up the mail.  If I can get that done today, i'll be happy.

I highly recommend the wake up wraps... they are DELICIOUS... When I am craving junk food they are a go to food, that doesn't act as a trigger food like so many do... They are only 150 calories each and just SO yummy... The only downfall is that they are a bit high in sodium (about 500mg each) but if you get them in the morning it doesn't seem to affect me on the scale...

I had a wonderful weekend of sleep with most of my children in the house. Of course I'd wake up a few times because of all the water i drink, but then I'd be able to go back to sleep whereas I usually toss and turn for a fe hours. I dread tonight!

I see loveray recommended a valerian root blend. I second that, I take 2 valerian root capsules if I'm having trouble sleeping and they work great with no side effects that I've noticed. I hope tonight is better for you!

I slept downstairs on the couch Thursday and Friday night and managed over 7 hours.  I tried sleeping upstairs Saturday and Sunday night which didn't turn out quite as well as I would have liked.  Tossed and turned both nights, with less than 7 hours each night.  Maybe it's my bed?  Bad Feng Shui?

I woke up this morning shivering.  Walked downstairs and realized that i'd left all the windows open overnight.  I've been doing this recently because it's been so warm and humid - i've wanted to keep the house cool.  I guess summer is starting to fade away now though.  I had to take a hot shower to warm up!

So far this morning has been horrible.  I came to work to discover that my computer and printer are fried, and I.T. won't even LOOK at it until Wednesday.  Add to that the fact that I have to use another computer that doesn't have the programs or settings i'm used to, and it's a BAD DAY!  Can't order any work supplies online, can't make the changes I need to in website programs - UGH.  I'm gonna go rank on someone today.  Thank goodness i'm stuck in the corner cubicle... less traffic. GAWD!! GAWWWWWWD! Sorry. Apparently being in the corner cubicle makes no difference. And also? ALSO?! Stop the gossiping! Not you guys. These guys. I'm being driven INSANE.

Positive - it's looking like another busy week, which will make Friday feel that much sweeter.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, toast with peanut butter, banana smoothie.  wow, that's a lot.

Lunch - sandwich

Snack - blueberries

Dinner - I don't know.

Exercise - slo-pitch

Other - I have a date at grandma's today after work - she's getting a box of veggies from the garden, and she has some things we need to go through.  Then it's batting practice and off to the game!

Positive - we won our ballgame last night and had a great time hosting the BBQ!

Sleep - i'm not sure what time I finally crawled to the pillows... ;-)  Possibly 6 hours.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - nope.

Lunch - nope.

Snack - water.

Dinner - homemade pizza. pepperoni, mushrooms, tomato on english muffins - baked. Yum! and more water.

I am going to do as little as possible today.  Yup.

Positive - I am off work after today until Monday!

I managed to get to the grocery store (and am now broke. again.) and pick up a few things for the bbq tonight and for myself.  I bought more blueberries and some bananas, orange juice and yogurt.  The plan is to make up a few smoothies every so often - they are so yummy, especially when it's particularly warm outside.  Just add ice!

Unfortunately I ate far too much for dinner last evening, but at least I no longer have any dry ribs or spicy fries in the house.  Today i've been eating fairly light, in anticipation of the juicy hamburger I will be eating after ball.  I didn't do any exercise yesterday, since I couldn't cut the grass I simply sat on the couch and ate until my evening meeting.

When I got back from the meeting I drew a warm bath.  Gawd, on a hot humid day it is a BAD idea to take a warm bath.  I could only stand about 20 minutes of it before I had to get out.  It did make me sleepy though, and I had no trouble falling asleep right away.  In fact, I fell asleep on the couch reading a book.  Woke up once in the middle of the night and crawled into bed and slept again until this morning.  I think I got close to 8 hours of sleep.  Tonight will be a much different story.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, banana muffin

Lunch - 1 english muffin, 1 slice pepperoni

Snack - blueberries

Dinner - hamburger on bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese.  maybe some chips.  alcohol.  etc, etc, etc?

Exercise - slo-pitch

I have tried to write out an explanation for the way i've written out my dinner.  There just aren't any good ones.  I know I will consume all of these things.  It's one of those days, and you know what?  I'm okay with that.  Life is about balance, right?  I'm just adding a little BAD to all the GOOD.  Nah.  I just want some chips.

If you plan on being bad that is were you will probably go. It is just about how often you plan on a day off or how often you fall off in comparison with how many days you are good. I work on the 80/20 rule, be good 80% of the time and have A treat a couple of times a week - or be good all week and on weigh in day I allow myself a meal of whatever I want. I hope the day is enjoyable for you and that you get back of the healthy eating tomorrow.!!

Positive - I accidentally shut off my alarm this morning and didn't wake up until 7:30am.  The positive is that I got a little extra sleep!

Friday - 9 hours sleep (got to sleep in on Saturday morning!)

Saturday - 7 hours sleep

Sunday - 5 hours sleep

Monday - 7 1/2 hours sleep

Man, if I could only become consistent with the 7 hours, that would probably be okay.  I know that I need at least that in order to feel rested.

We won our ballgame last night (we just started playoffs for one league), so to celebrate we all went to the sports bar for a schooner of beer.  A schooner of beer holds alotta beer.  Probably close to 3 bottles.  Unfortunately for the driver, the ride home lasted about half an hour, during which I managed to prattle constantly.  Once I got home I rummaged and found some old chips in the cupboard and ate them up.  I guess it could have been worse, right?!!

So my fruit bingeing has died down.  In fact, I haven't had any fruit for... probably two days.  Not counting the banana muffin I had for breakfast this morning.  There is still fruit in the fridge, so i'd better make myself one or two smoothies and take care of the rest before it goes bad.

Plan for today:

Breakfast - coffee, banana muffin

Lunch - noodles (leftover from yesterday)

Snack - ???  blueberries and chocolate covered almonds.

Dinner - dry ribs and spicy fries?  in an attempt to clean out the freezer.

Exercise - I have to cut the grass, it's a jungle out there. GRR!  It rained, and now I won't be able to CUT THE DANG GRASS!!!  Swear, swear, swear!

Other - I have a meeting this evening. Blah.

actually this time, that was the only reason for our fight.... we have an agreement that we would only drink together, and when he came home from work yesterday i was passed out drunk and naked.. (not sure how or why i got that way lol) so i understand why hes so mad, i would be too i think, but i was here by myself, talking to a friend on the phone, not like i was out partying with tons of ppl, so hopefully he will realise that and get over it faster. gonna talk to him more today.. we'll see i guess... enjoy the rest of ur day :)

Yes, congrats on your win! That schooner of beer sounds interesting. I ordered a pirate ship of sushi one time and it was enormous and with a big skull and cross bones on it. Very intimidating :) Hope you have a good evening with lots of sleep.
