Though lovers be lost love shall not.    Dylan Thomas

Today I am grateful for: being optimistic (most of the time!), my resolve to endure, my husband (although in hiding!)

Hello Lovely Girls, Forecast 70 degrees with high cloud, perfect! The house is so quiet, too quiet, I can't wait for the children to come back and I still have four days to go!! I awoke with a headache today, really unusual for me and then I remembered that I hadn't had enough water yesterday, dehydrated through the night. Couple of pain killers and two glasses of water and all is right again. Silly girl!

I purchased new walking shoes on Monday and broke them in yesterday on the treadmill, not too bad, a little tight to start off with but fine toward the end except for the heel on the left foot, it is always the left foot (the left side of our bodies being slightly bigger than the right). Anyhoo, it is still a little red a sore this morning so I did my home gym routine rather than risk a blister! That's about it for today, nothing planned, free as a bird! Have a lovely day beautiful girls:)

Exercise: 60 wall push ups, 50 chair squats, 50 step ups

Yesterdays Food

hot chocolate, porridge   348

chocolate buttermilk cake, tofu whipped cream, strawberries   575

banana  100    TOTAL   1023

Progress as of today: 25.1 lbs lost so far, only 61.2 lbs to go!

Maria7 on 10/04/2011:
How nice...nothing planned and free as a bird! :-D

hollybelle on 10/04/2011:
Our weather is perfect, too!!! I love it. It takes me 5 times of wearing new athletic shoes.....you are on your way. I like new shoes! Well, except for the breaking in.

V on 10/04/2011:
Yayy for new workout shoes :) i hope you break them in pretty quick ;) LuB YOU

getmebackto150 on 10/04/2011:
glad to hear the headache went away quickly... It was totally an accident this baking... :) I swear, before I knew it, the cookies were in the oven!!

sweetpea1977 on 10/04/2011:
glad you were able to cure your headache. always be sure to get plenty of water, especially when you're exercising! keep up the good work!! xo

grannyannie on 10/05/2011:
Great workout. Keep hydrated! I've had dehydration headaches and they are so hard to get rid of. On the dark chocolate - I've had a spicy dark chocolate that was soooo good. Can't remember % cocoa so I'll check. Yes, my granddaughters are 6 and 1!

Umpqua on 10/05/2011:
Keep up the excellent work!!

You reminded me that I should get new shoes. Mine are ancient. It might help my back if I had good shoes. Glad to see you are keeping up with the challenge. Me too!

grannyannie on 10/10/2011:

How are you doing? Hope all is well.

For small creatures such as we the vastness is bearable only through love.   Carl Sagan

Today I am grateful for: the people who show us the beauty of this world and beyond, knowing that love is the answer, the potential of people

Hello Lovely Girls, Beautiful morning here, sun is up and we are going for 68 degrees. Perfect! I found today's quote and remembered that Carl Sagan was the first person who I remember ever taking me beyond this world and showing worlds beyond. He had passion and intelligence and is remembered with love. I also love David Attenborough who has spent his life discovering the wonderful creatures both large and small that inhabit our beautiful blue world, his is 84 now and still clambering around the undergrowth and hoisting himself up rain forest trees. I love seeing polar bears swimming underwater, elephants swimming anyhow, seeming so incredible to me. Hammerhead sharks swimming in schools filmed from below, amazing! Schools of shiny silver fish flashing and turning as one in the ocean, perfect symmetry. And of course, my beautiful loyal Emperor Penguins, the males will soon be released from their Winter of shuffling around in close circle to keep warm and their precious eggs protected. Another good thing about warmer weather!!

I think my daughter is coming up today so that we can have a laugh at Damn You Auto Correct, so funny we really have a great time together laughing at the mistakes iphones make when you don't check what they are sending!! Apart from that and a little vacuuming I have nothing on my agenda. I am missing the angel terribly, her games of how much she loves me, all the world, all my heart, all day long, all night long, forever!!  I hope you have a good day girls and remember that I love you:)

Exercise: 45 mins on treadmill with 4 x 2 min HIT intervals, 60 wall push ups

Yesterday's Food

hot chocolate    46

mini tortilla wrap, banana, 2t peanut butter  271

chicken and broccolini in oyster and chilli sauce with jasmine rice   372

chicken and salad sandwich  452

10g 85% dark chocolate  50    TOTAL 1191    then I raided the WW muesli bars, so add another 400, I thought to myself as I was mindfully eating healthy food as a 'binge' "you have come a long way girlie"!!

Progress as of today: 25.1 lbs lost so far, only 61.2 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 10/03/2011:
Thanks Moogy, it does help to know you'll be checking in :) You are doing so well with the food and exercise, keep it up!!

getmebackto150 on 10/03/2011:
I agree, if that is a binge to you, you have TOTALLY come a long way... I also LOVE those autocorrects... LOL... I can definitely imagine how much you miss the angel expecially when you are used to seeing her every single day... The children will be back soon!! Have a great day Moogy!

V on 10/03/2011:
Hello there HIIT Queen :) You are doing such an awesome job :) Oh I love Carl Sagan.. I watched Cosmos even before I even kne what the heck he was talking about...LOL Thank you for your lovely words today :) Hey I sent ya a pic, via fb of my son's father..Yes I know I will see my son again soon, I always wonder what he looks like.. Have a wonderful afternoon my friend LUB YOU <3 Thank you so much!

sweetpea1977 on 10/03/2011:
Hubby introduced me to Carl Sagon's Cosmos show soon after I met him. Pretty neat show and Carl's voice was mesmerizing. :)

I love that Auto Correct site. I spent a few hours on that site one day and laughed until my stomach hurt! :)

biscottibody59 on 10/04/2011:
He's dead unfortunately, but one of the last things I saw of his was his debunking of people who thought they had been abducted by aliens. He was the ultimate skeptic--my kind of people;-)

Have a good week yourself!

grannyannie on 10/04/2011:
I'm going to get myself some of that 85% chocolate next time I'm out! Have a lovely day!

One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life, that word is love.   Sophoeles

Today I am grateful for: knowing I am a child of God, being loved, feeling loved

Hello Lovely Girls, I have a cool and cloudy day! Perfect! Well, the story starts with me waking at six, which wouldn't have been so bad but daylight savings started on Sunday morning so we are now on Summer Time. So it was really five o'clock, I forced myself back to sleep and woke again at seven and thought I should get up and get on the treadmill. I should point out that the treadmill is about five feet away from were my daughter sleeps only one level up with a deep wooden floor between us. So, I am thinking that she needs her sleep while she can get it and will I wake her too early. Anyhoo, I have to go out shopping so I put it off until eight o'clock and then discover that I have completely torn through my walking shoes. I must have been working hard!! So got some new ones while I was out shopping and will do my home gym routine today and treadmill tomorrow, turn out my daughter hardly notices the noise from above so I am good to go and not worry about waking her!! Yay!!

If you read yesterday's update you would have read that I received a lovely basket of things at church yesterday including chocolate.!!! Well, ummmm....I give in, I cannot have chocolate in the house, it just calls to me, I can't concentrate on anything and just keep thinking about the damn chocolate. Anyway, no damage done, I had a proper lunch (I don't eat before church, too early) and then ate the chocolate, I ate it all in about five minutes flat, yum, total for the day 1605 dah dah! Yes, princess you shall have your chocolate!! LOL I was totally satisfied for the rest of the day. I have had low calorie totals for most of the week so now it is all gone and I only have healthy food in the house. Well, apart from all the goodes I put in jars for the children, but I have to be really desperate to eat their goodies. I found a new brand of low fat sausage while I was out, I am having a go at making a Lentil Chicken Sausage Soup, Umpqua made one and got my taste buds jumping. Anyhoo, each sausage is only 100 calories and the low fat pork ones where only slightly higher. I love sausages but never buy them because of all the fat. So yay! I am raving on a bit, V says it is the endorphins I have in my system. I hope you girls have a happy and healthy week.:) Love you girls:)

Exercise: 50 wall push ups, 50 chair squats, 50 step ups

Progress as of today: 25.1 lbs lost so far, only 61.2 lbs to go!

My plan is to give you all hotties of the NFL every Sunday!! Like my idea??

V on 10/02/2011:
Oh an BTW it is beyond the highest compliment to be a coverboy for this magazine..One of my other favorites Terry Crews talked about how when he found out he was selected for the cover, he committed 2 hours a day to workout for 2 months just so he could look his best(very hard to outdo an perfect body to begin with IMO)

Maria7 on 10/02/2011:

grannyannie on 10/03/2011:

Umpqua on 10/03/2011:
Great job keeping your calories low with having chocolate! I have dark chocolate in the house and somehow I'm able to control myself better with that and limit it. Good milk chocolate - forget about it, I'm a goner ;) Have a good one!

SUNDAY UPDATE: Had a good day yesterday with both eating and exercise. Just got back from church and was given the friendship basket for the month. Lots of lovely meaninful, funny, perfumed things inside as well as strawberries and chocolate. Eeek! I feel strong enough to withstand the thought that I now have chocolate in the house, but can't bear the thought of sending it downstairs. It will wait until I have a day off. Lovely gift of love. I now get to give the friendship basket to somone else next month. Nice!! Hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend girls:)

Today I am grateful for: a cool cloudy day, understanding and patience, getting older and wiser

Hello Lovely Girls, We have been promised a whole week of cool weather with possibility of rain. That makes for a happy moogy!! I had a good day yesterday with my food, and (crossed fingers) seem to be on top of the eating at night bug. I don't expect this to last forever, but I will maintain it for as long as I can. I have absolutely no plans for the weekend, except for church on Sunday. I may watch some movies, do a little reading. For now, it is a deep hot long bath in a quiet house. Bliss!! Have a wonderful weekend girls and remember love 'em if you got 'em:) Love you girls:)

grannyannie on 10/01/2011:
Well done on conquering the nighttime eating! Re: grandkids My first one was born 5 years after I'd left the country, so never lived near them. I lived in a different state from my son anyway. It is very tough but there's no solution other than to visit and Skype, nobody is going to move countries! The girls are 1 and 6.

hollybelle on 10/01/2011:
You thinkng of a lentil soup recipe? The one I made was really good. I had never made it before. It didn't call for the chicken sausage, but husband always wants some meat in his soups...I put two sausages in a hugh pot and he was happy. I will say, if you like broth with your soups fairly double the amount of chicken stock it calls for because those dried lentils really soak it up - as you can imagine. I like very flavorful soup so I usually double the spices, too. This one had lots of onions and carrots and celery and crushed tomatoes and I added about 1/2 cup of salsa.

biscottibody59 on 10/01/2011:
A hot bath isn't too great when it's shallow--haha! Hope you're doing well today!

No matter how happily a woman may be married, it always pleases her to discover that there is a nice man who wishes that she were not.  ~H.L. Mencken

Today I am grateful for: being surrounded by love, knowing there is joy to come, working hard

Hello Lovely Girls, Haven't checked the weather yet, looks like clearing with wind to me! However, I am excited to inform you that after weeks and weeks I have finally changed my posted weight, you might not notice because it is only a smidgen, but it represents several pounds being taken off and put back on and taken off again. Finally I am in the groove and have lost eight pounds, the last five in the last two weeks. I am sooo pleased with myself. It is all down to that treadmill. I hate it and I love it! I didn't think that I would ever join in with the estrogen charged exercise melay going on here at DD's at the beginning, but I am so glad that I did. It has been the exercise that has made all the difference! My yoda, V, gives me my instructions and I just go. I walked for the longest I have ever done, anywhere, since I was a teenager today, the last ten minutes were soo hard, I had a pregnant sweetpea on one side saying "go moogy, go moogy" and V on the other crouched down, fists clenched yelling "COME ON" and despite my lower back complaining and my left knee whimpering I finished. YAY!

The children are disappearing for over a week today, the princess is going today. Her other grandmother is coming down from where she lives a couple of hours up the coast for a picnic with them all today and taking her home to have a sleepover with her same age cousin. Then the rest of them go with their dad for their big adventure travelling for the week to the inland zoo and whatever!!  I am not sure I am happy about this, I dare say the first couple of day will be fine. It is the angel I will miss the most, but saying that maybe it is the sweet second eldest boy.....or maybe my so handsome eldest grandson???? It won't be the princess, royalty is so demanding!!! LOL I hope you girls have a good day and remember moogy loves you:)

Exercise: 60 mins 4 incline 4mph

Yesterday's Food

There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them.  ~Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Today I am grateful for: my team of regular supporters here, more rain, feeling as though I might do this

Hello Lovely Girls, We are going for a high of 71/33 with rain clearing this morning and a windy afternoon. It did indeed rain again (Yay!) most of yesterday afternoon and into the night. I can feel myself let out a sigh of relief when I here it, because I know water is going into our dams and we really need it!

I recently had a bit of an epiphany about this weight loss journey (getting healthy is a side issue for me) when I was able to get back on the treadmill and really started working hard. I am starting to think that I can do this, reach my goal. Not the 125 pounds or around 50 kilos I am 'suppose' to be. I think I passed that when I was about 15 and haven't been back to check it out since. However, about 15 years ago I lost 30 kilos (a kilo is 2.2 pounds) and was happy with myself and my body. It is about 85 kilos or 187 pounds. I am starting to think that I now know how to do it. I know it sounds strange but it isn't about what I do as in eating and exercising, I have been doing that on and off for 40 years. I is about how I think about it, it is like a light bulb has switched on. I really think I can do it now:) I have all these fabulous clothes sitting in my wardrobe waiting for me (which is the reason I want to lose weight), I want to look good and feel good in my clothes.:)

Anyhoo, today was suppose to be my home gym routine but I couldn't resist the call of the treadmill (I can see you smiling V!!) so I did 30 minutes with HIT intervals and still managed to get my heart rate up to 170. Whoo Hoo!! Have a great day girls, love you:)

Yesterday's Food

hot chocolate, english fruit muffin, philly, jam   303

chicken thigh, cauliflower, carrot, peas and gravy   380

apple and cinnamon clafoutis  and custard  231

hot chocolate   46    TOTAL 960

Progress as of today: 24.6 lbs lost so far, only 61.7 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 09/28/2011:
Wonderful entry today, things really seem to be coming together for you! That's awesome that you have a whole new wardrobe waiting for you.

Great suggestion on the savory topping. I have another half of the brick of tofu I got, so maybe I'll try something like that with it.

We have a nice amount of space in our back woods, plus we're surrounded by my neighbor's woods (something like 100 acres) so I can't wait until the boys are big enough to go back there on their own and explore. I grew up with woods too and spent hours exploring nature :) Have a good one!

V on 09/28/2011:
Okay now that is progress...So tomorrow although you will crave another HIIT session, now it is time to do a regular workout, be it treadmill or home gym routine I am willing to bet it will seem alot easier and your endurance will be higher...HURRAH! Oh and BTW how did you know i was smiling :) Oh tell D that I bet she can make a guy smash his face into a door as well!!! Have a good evening!! LUB YOU

V on 09/28/2011:

Hello Lovely Girls,  Forecast 77 with 70% chance of rain, wouldn't that be lovely!! More wet lovely rain!! Anyhoo! I have finished my treadmill and am sitting here with the back of my hair soaking wet, how I wish that I up took endorphins, I bet I would be really buzzed, damn Dysthymia!!! I can feel my body tingling and that is about it. However, I feel good that I forced myself out of bed and worked hard, it is always a battle when you don't really have to get out of bed, but once I get started and the music is booming I'm off!!

I only know that the angel will visit today and I think I may be baking with the princess as well. Apart from a little cleaning that is all I have planned for the day, although thinking about it, it is indoor soccer tonight and I probably will have the little girls for a short time then as well. So it will be a girlie day today!! Not too bad at all:) I hope you all have lovely days:) Love you girls:)

You have no idea how happy I was when I learned about your seizure situation and your decision to try HIIT workouts. Yes, please be my cheerleader. I need a whole cheerleading squad cheering me on!! :)

Keep it up moogy! You are rocking it hard core!!! xo

thinkpositive on 09/28/2011:
You are so sweet Moogy!! Hey I tried that HIIT this morning on the elliptical- thought I would die! Not so easy. I'll give it a try another day- maybe it gets easier??

Today I am grateful for: sleepovers with the princess, feeling good, my many blessings

Hello Lovely Girls, A perfect 73 degrees today, who could ask for more? Not me! I am so excited, the scale is moving down and I suspect that it is because of the hard work I have been putting in on the treadmill. Although today it was my home gym routine, I have to look after my knees! I am less than a pound from my posted weight! Yay!

It is 8.30 on Tuesday morning and I still have the princess with me as no one downstairs is awake. She has been down twice but everyone is still asleep, that angel will sleep until well past nine if left to her own devises. I am expecting a visit from the angel later in the morning, but apart from that and my own cooking, I have nothing planned for the day. Having the children on holiday is like having a holiday myself! I hope you have a healthy eating day:) Love you girls:)

V on 09/26/2011:
Moogy I can't say this enough..I am so proud of you :) As far as your knees go make sure you get a nice stretch in before and after your workouts..As the weight drops hopefully the knee issues will resolve itself...I think it is time to post your lower weight, post it and be proud!! LUB YOU :)

V on 09/26/2011:

V on 09/26/2011:

grannyannie on 09/27/2011:
Well done! You're doing fantastically. As for heat waves LOL. It's supposed to hit 28 in London which they do call a heat wave. We've been promised 23 on Friday which is perfect for me! For me too hot means over 80F if it's humid, 85F if it's not.

biscottibody59 on 09/27/2011:
Oh goody moogy--those two words that are soooo sweet together--FEELING GOOD! Keep on keepin' on--yeah!

Today I am grateful for: my body, laughing children, my son

Hello Lovely Girls, Going for a top of 68 degrees today, it is cloudy with no sign of the sun!! Yay!! I have just finished my treadmill and am sitting here bright red and dripping with sweat. I have never worked out so hard in my life!! I am enjoying the results of the workout if not the actual hard work. My scale showed me a loss of two pounds over the weekend. I think the hard work is paying off and giving me the incentive to go harder!!! Not long to go before I can change that posted weight!!

I have the princess with me at the moment, she just came up, her mom is taking the angel to pre-school. I can tell she is growing up, I gave her the option of watching Dora or Spongebob and she choose the later!! Such a relief not to have that high pitched little wretch rambling on. Sweetpea knows what I mean!! Plus I find Spongebob slightly amusing sometimes:) I don't know what the day holds for me as I have to be on call due to the children being at home. Anyhoo, I started my week of well and am planning on having a good one. I hope that you have a happy and healthy week as well.:) Love you girls:)

Yeah Moogy!!! Menu looks great, so does the workout!! You are a warrior!! HURRAH...Okay I love Dora and Spongebob!! I love when he says "I'm ready" I know the feeling...LOL And Patrick is my favorite most clueless starfish ever!!! hahaha LUB YOU

hollybelle on 09/25/2011:
V already said it - but I thought - GREAT MENU when I read your post! Good job!

V on 09/25/2011:
Hahaha!! Well that explains it all about your ex..Now it is hard not to feel sorry for him and it also explains his lack of rationale..Makes sense to me...

biscottibody59 on 09/25/2011:
Funny but there was a recent study showing negative impact on kids watching Spongebob. As for me, I've tried once or twice to watch it and I find it horribly annoying. I do love Bullwinkle, et al.

thinkpositive on 09/26/2011:
Yeah for you. I'm going to try the HIT plan! It suits you that's for sure! BTW- what does HIT stand for??

~WI~ on 09/26/2011:
RE the rain, my friends in Texas haven't had very much rain for almost 2 years and they celebrate even when it sprinkles. I cannot imagine not having rain when it seems to rain every other day here! I will GLADLY share with all who want the rain! You are really doing great with your exercise, awesome!

legcramps on 09/26/2011:
Wow, good job moogy! Keep it up!

SUNDAY UPDATE: Had a hungry day yesterday but managed to keep everything undercontrol. Yay! It is raining here, I repeat raining!!! Wonderful wet stuff. Hasn't rained in over a month, plus we even got enough to get some in the gutters. I guess my moaning has really worked. It is only 60 degrees today, what a strange weather week, 86 on Wednesday, had the air conditioner on. Just got back from church and had to put the heater on. I will take it while I can. Have a good rest of the weekend girls:)

The supply of good women far exceeds that of the men who deserve them.  ~Robert Graves

Today I am grateful for: a still, quiet morning, an overcast sky, white blossoms on our trees

Hello Lovely Girls, Someone must have heard me moaning, we are getting three days of not above 72 degrees!! Yay! It is 8.15am on Saturday morning, the children are at their dad's, I hear no movement from downstairs. I have finished my exercise, killer by the way!! V told me how to do HIT interval training and 10 mins later I am still fogging up my reading glasses. I definitely didn't glisten, I was sweating!! Not nice V!! I really didn't want to do the third HIT but pushed on anyway.

I have only one thing on the agenda for the day, my daughter wants to go through the too big little girls clothes, she will need back up for this. She has only just thrown out the sterilizer and bottles from the biggest boy, although I understand her reasons for keeping that. He was born at 29 weeks, so she had a particularly strong attachment to that.  I didn't have the best of day with my eating yesterday, nothing too bad just not what I planned, I think that lying scale got to me. Funny how those things sneak up on you from an oblique angle and you don't realize the cause until the eating is over. I am learning as I am going!! I hope you have a good weekend, and remember love 'em if you got 'em:) Love you girls:)

Exercise 30 mins on Treadmill with 3 x 2 min HIT intervals. Peak heart rate 156

Progress as of today: 24.6 lbs lost so far, only 61.7 lbs to go!

thinkpositive on 09/23/2011:
You rock with the exercise Moogy! Maybe I should read V's suggestion to you!Keep doing that & your scale will respond. Your weather sounds ideal- enjoy it!

thinkpositive on 09/23/2011:
And by the way, thanks for the support!! and by support I mean saying what I need to hear!

V on 09/23/2011:
Yeah Moogy!!! Keep at it and you will def see positive results!!! Sorry it involves sweating but it does amp up your metabolism :) I am headed off to bed but I will catch up with you tomorrow evening :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 09/24/2011:
enjoy your day and the weather!

hollybelle on 09/24/2011:
Yay Moogy - HIIT training - you sly fox!

biscottibody59 on 09/24/2011:
Our weather isn't quite cooperating like yours is--sounds so refreshing with your rain! Glad to hear it!

I don't know about you, but interval training may make it seem like the workout is a breeze--here's wishing you the best in your progress! Keep up the good work:-)

V on 09/25/2011:
YES!!! You lost 2 lbs??? That is awesome Moogy!! See sweating has it's benefits ;) LUB YOU!!

V on 09/25/2011:
BTW you guys turn on the heat when it is 60??? I usually open my windows..I can't wait til it finally cools off here(sometime in December)

liza36 on 09/25/2011:
I think starting a new challenge of exercising 4 days a week, and reporting once a week is a great idea. The 30-day challenge of every day exercise was good for me, but I do think I put too much pressure on myself to have a perfect track record.

Great job on your HIT workout. Sounds intense. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.
