Well I haven't weighed since my last entry so I have no idea if I've made any progress or not. Right now I'm in the middle of my menstrual cycle so it would be useless (and depressing) to weigh right now anyway.

I just got back from my AZ trip. I had a really good time and my eating habits were great while I was there. I did not snack, I ate well, and did plenty of walking. I actually feel good about the way I handled things. But, I'm back home now and I'm feeling the pressure of deadlines (school work) as well as stress about starting a new jobs, etc. It's during those stressful moments that I become overwhelmingly tempted to snack, snack, snack!!!

I took today off work to get some (home)work done. I have a big presentation tonight in class and I'm not prepared for it. So, let's see if I can stay home, doing homework today, and not snack on unhealthy foods. Wish me luck!

Well I weighed in today and was thrilled to find that I lost another two pounds! I'm so close to the 200 lbs mark...I can't wait to reach that milestone! I've snacked my way through my term-papers the past two-weeks but thank God, I made healthy choices for the most part (high protein, low-carb snacks). I'm going to Arizona Thursday for a few days vacation with my boyfriend. While there, I plan to relax some, study some. I have a final exam when I return home. I also have made up my mind to eat healthy while I'm there. I think I'll stick to lean meats, salads, fruits, etc. Wish me luck!

Well I haven't weighed for a couple of days but I did take my measurements tonight. I've lost some inches in my waist and hips! I'm amazed that I've lost anything here lately because I've been snacking a lot throughout the last couple of weeks. One mistake I know that I'm making is drinking with meals, which my doctor told me not to do. This is a habit that has been difficult to break. I also need to choose healthier snacks (celery sticks, carrots, soy chips, etc). As soon as this quarter is over at school, I'm going to go to the gym too. I can't ever seem to find the time to do this when I'm working and going to classes. However, there's only a few more weeks of classes left and then I'll have more time to work out.

I have some more good news. I got a full-time job with the state with benefits and all!! I was really thrilled about that! I've been looking for some time but really didn't expect to find a deal this sweet. Wish me luck; I'm really nervous about this. I begin my new job on March 22nd. Well that is all for now. If anyone has any ideas on healthy, low-calorie, or low-carb snacks, let me know. My appetite is coming back with a vengence and it's making me nervous. The more under pressure and stress that I get from school, the more I want to eat eat eat!!!

I've lost a total of 7.5 inches through the chest, 12.5 inches through the waist, 12.5 inches through the hips, 8 inches in the thigh, and 3 inches in the arm. But I still feel so fat and want to lost another 30 to 40 lbs. Needless to say, I have extra skin and need to tone up the flab. In Three weeks I am starting an exercise program and I'm going to use the extra time I'll have from taking a quarter off from school to get into shape! If I even try to procrastinate, ya'll give me hell!!!! (Please)

Well today I was good...I came to work and went to the cafeteria; I purchased fresh fruit and a bottle of water. What I really wanted was something CHOCOLATE!!! But, I'm determined to reach that 200 lbs mark and that is NOT going to happen if I don't watch what I eat. It's amazing that for every ONE healthy food, there are 50 deliciously fattening and tempting ones. What's more amazing is when you walk into the grocery store and see how expensive healthy foods are compared to the fattening, artery-clogging, and high-calorie ones. Some day there's going to be a woman president who has an obsession for dieting in the White House and the first thing she's going to do after being elected is pass a bill putting sin-tax on all fattening foods!!! THEN, we'll be able to afford all the healthy stuff! (hahahaha)

There are a lot of healthy foods that are not expensive. You just have to look in the right places, like fresh produce. This week some of my purchases were: whole pineapple $2.99, head of broccoli and cauliflower 99 cents each, red peppers 99 cents, papaya 69 cents lb., cantalope - two for $3. red grapefruit 4/$1, 2lbs. FF plain yogurt $1.69, 16oz. box whole grain cereal in health food store $2.50.

Another point to consider is the money you don't pay the doctor or pharmacy for eating healthier foods and thus being healthier.

Well this is the first chancce I've had to weigh in a while and I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't expect that I had lost anything but I lost 4.5 lbs since my last weigh in. I'm sooooo close to that 200 lb mark that I can taste it. I get so excited thinking about being UNDER 200 lbs! I haven't been under 200 since I was a young teenager! That's definately motivation to watch what I put in my mouth and my portion size. Hope everything is going well with you all. I hope you have a great food day today and I think you guys are WEIGH cool!!!

Oh my gosh!! YOu are SO close to that mark! THat is my dream mark so I know how you must be feeling right now. I can't wait to read that entry when you report to us that you made it under 200 lbs! It will sure me a motivation kick in the butt for me that's for sure! I will be jealous but at the same time I would be SO happy for you. DId that make any sense? I will just have to do it myself so I know what it feels like. Good luck to you and know that I am thinking about you and very proud of you!

Well I finally got around to buying a tape measure so that I could take my measurements. I was pleasantly surprised at my progress!! I have lost 7.5 inches from my chest, 8.5 inches from my waist, 11.5 inches from my hips, 6 inches from my thigh, and 3 inches from my upper arm; for a total of 36.5 inches lost!!! I also went from 67% body fat to 49.9%. I am really starting to feel good about all this. Now, if I can just find the time to go to the gym. If I can't work it into my schedule, then I at least need to break out the treadmill and do 30 minutes a day on it. I hate it that my schedule is so packed all the time (grrr!!!)

WOW what a great accomplishment! That is terrific! YOu are doing such a great job, and you must be so proud. My freind just lost about 100 lbs and all she did was quit eating at night after 6pm. I wish I had that strength. Have a great day today!

Ok, after pigging out on Super Bowl Sunday, I thought for sure I would have gained a few pounds. Imagine my surprise when I stepped on the scales today and discovered I'd dropped another two pounds! I was thrilled! I was really uplifted to read the sweet comments you all left me. I'm really glad to re-establish communications with you breakaway (hugs)!! Any tips, you all ask? Well not really because the surgery is most likely the reason for my continued success. But I try to drink lots of water whether I want to or not, no soda, only decaf tea or coffee, walk as much as I can opposed to the elevator, and if I'm going to eat lots of anything at all...I try to make it raw veggies or other low calorie/carb things. If I'm making myself appear angelic, then I certainly don't mean to because I snack every other day or so on a few oreo cookies, etc. But I seriously try to keep the most temping, sinful, and high calorie foods out of the house, period! My boyfriend has been a tremendous help because he cooks healthy, buys healthy foods, and even buys healthy snacks. I want to go to the gym tonight but we're expecting freezing rain and snow (yuck)!!! Wish me luck as I do you all (hugs).

I am just so happy to see your entries here again. I was gone for a while and hadn't seen you in so long but you have always been one of my fav's here! I really miss pasta though. You have been doing awesome and I can't wait to see you achieve your goal. I am so proud of you. I have found a new snack to keep me entertained for an hour. lol It's sunflower seeds in the shell. I suck on them a while and then crack them open and eat the tiny reward inside. It's been a great snack for me. Sure beats a sandwhich. I will be watching for your next entry and you have a wonderful day today..thanks so much for you uplifting comment! They mean alot to me!~

Well it's been a while since my last entry. No matter how good my intentions are, I can't seem to find time to make regular entries. So, I'll just do the best I can I suppose. I have lost more weight since my last update. I went from size 30 jeans to size 18!!! It feels so good to walk into a regular store and be able to buy jeans, dresses, etc. I also went from a size 3X or 4X in blouses to a regular extra large. I have size 16 and size 14 jeans in my closet. I can't wait to finally be able to fit into them. I did overdo my eating on SuperBowl Sunday, but...now that that is over, it's time to quit making excuses and get back into my normal eating routine. Wish me luck!

Wow! What an accomplishment you have made since you started here. I'm still pretty new here, but your continuing sucess is really uplifting to me. And don't worry, I too went a little bonkers on Super Bowl sunday. Congrats on your weight loss again :) A Friend of mine who is a diabetic and weighs well over 300 is getting a Gastric Bypass in a couple months. I know it's not the easy way out. It's a change that you have to make for the rest of your life, and it's not easy I'm sure.

Things have really been busy in my life lately; sorry that I haven't taken the time to post until now. I woke up this morning at 4:30 and was at the gym by 5:30. I worked out for thirty-minutes and then returned home, ate a bowl of Special K, and now I have to go to work. It appears that I haven't gained or lost anything this week. But as long as I'm not gaining, that's fine with me!

I have an appointment with a trainer and an exercise physiologist next Thursday at 11:00 a.m at my gym. Wish me luck. I'm seriously trying to discipline myself to go to the gym at least 3-4 times a week and get into an exercise routine.

I graduate from college in March and hope to be as close to 200 lbs as I can be by that time. If I don't discipline myself and begin working out, March will come and go and I wont be anywhere near my goal.

Right now I'm wearing size 22 in jeans (I was wearing 30's)...it sure will be nice to finally fit into a size 18 or 16 comfortably. I was looking through some old photos the other day and came across a picture of me when I was at my highest weight; wow, I didn't realize just how heavy I had been until I really looked at that photo. I pulled it from the pile I was going through and kept it out. I often look at it for motivation.

Well, I have to get ready to go to class. I will read some entries tonight when I get home. You all take care and thanks so very much for your encouragement!

Hello Everyone!

Well this was not a good food day for me. I attempted to eat rice and veggies at work and couldn't keep it down. Then, for dinner, I tried a chicken patty and again, it came back up. So, I resigned myself to sticking to drinks for the rest of the evening. Since the surgery, I have days like this (not often, but I have them). I am going to the gym tomorrow evening for the first time since my surgery. It's a little intimidating because I know I've let myself get out of shape. But, I have to start somewhere or else I'll stay right where I'm at. If I can motivate myself to work out at least three times a week, I'll consider it a good plan (and a miracle).

I only have three more classes until I graduate this college and move on to a four-year university. I'll be taking those classes next quarter (Dec-March) and things are really going to be hectic. Those classes, the labs, my practicum, not to mention three kids and three part-time jobs. I just hope I will make time to take care of myself (working out, taking vitamins, getting enough sleep, etc).

In addition, I have a newly acquired boyfriend and I wonder if we'll have any time together next quarter and if our relationship can survive his traveling and my being so busy with school, work, and my kids. If so, great. If not, NEXT! Guess he isn't much if he can't stand by me while I get my education huh? The plans for my life are already scripted and either he'll join me for the ride or else I'll have to kick him to the curb and do it without him.
