Yesterday was… nice… 
 
Breakfast - Sandwich (324), coffee (98) 
 
Lunch - Salmon w/lemon, omelet (1 whole egg, 1 egg white, frozen veggies, onion, slice of cheese), 2 oranges 
 
The school year's at an end, so there were no classes yesterday, not really. There was also no school lunch, so I brought my own. Unfortunately, I had no time this morning to eat as well as cook, so I got a sandwich at the 7-11. I got a lot of food from the 7-11 yesterday… :(
 
At work - 6 cups of coffee (I was so bored, I couldn't help but make so many), a mini donut, a piece of chocolate (both offered, and I didn't turn them down.)
 
Dinner - 2 rice balls (198, 189), cereal bar, sandwich (344), salad (74)
 
Under 2000? X
 
Water - 6 cups 
 
Exercise - Stroll between jobs, wall squat (1 min)
 
I didn't run as planned because of the rain. 
 
Yesterday, I did an extra hour of sub work at the office. After getting ready for it, however, I realized that I had a half-hour to kill. I had two options: sit around being bored or go out in the cold rain. 
 
So… I grabbed my umbrella and went for a 30-min walk. Just one of several things I'm filing under "Things I do now".
 
Things I Do Now:
  - Take a walk instead of sitting around, being bored.
  - Add cabbage to nearly everything.
  - Eat and enjoy vegetables (but not tomatoes. I will never eat and enjoy tomatoes.)
 
… It's a very short list, that.
 

 
Today's a bit complicated.
 
"Official" weigh-in day: I lost about 1kg (2.2lb) this week! Harrumble! I'm gonna celebrate with... um...
 
Plan for the day: Exercise in the morning, writing in the afternoon, dinner party in the evening.
 
School year's over, so time to celebrate, I guess. I'll be eating a lot of nice food tonight, then staying overnight at the hotel. This is the website for the hotel's meal plans to give you an idea what my dinner will look like. I know I'll forget to jot everything down.

Lunch - 1 orange, yogurt w/ marmalade, salmon with lemon, kimchi cabbage saute (onion, mushroom, carrot)
 
Dinner - Omelet (2 eggs, frozen veggies), slice of cheese, coffee with milk, sandwiches (324 and 263), coffee (98)
 
The food I made for lunch didn't taste right, and I was still hungry after dinner... Under 2000? X
 
Water - 4 cups 
 
Exercise - None.
 
I looked at my diary this morning and, to my horror, I haven't been to the gym since Monday. I have to remedy this… but not by going to the gym tomorrow. I can't. I grabbed an extra hour at work and wouldn't make it to the gym in time. However, my legs and I miss running, so, after my extra work, I'm changing into my running clothes at the office and going to the sports park before going home.
 
I feel shy just thinking about it, letting my coworkers seeing me leave in my track pants. I don't want to tell them my plans (i.e. I'm off to exercise) because I don't want the added pressure. (I've heard a lot about letting other people know you're dieting, mostly to get that extra support/pressure to do well. I'd rather not. I crack easily.)
 
But, at the same time, I know I'm more likely to exercise before going home than I am after. So... I hope no one notices comments on my change of clothes...
 
(I also read an article yesterday that equated "telling people you're dieting" with "telling people you're gay". It was weird.) 
 

Tomorrow: Last day of work for the semester, followed by 2+ weeks of "vacation"/unemployment. … yay…

Yesterday wasn't the best.
 
Breakfast - Omelet (frozen veggies, slice of cheese, 2 eggs), coffee with milk, 1 tsp of peanut butter, yogurt with marmalade
 
Lunch - 1 tsp of peanut butter, omelet (2 eggs, packet of kimchi, onion, shiitake mushrooms), rice with frozen peas and things
 
Dinner - 1 orange, ice cream cone (260), 3 coffee with milk, 1 apple, 1 tsp of peanut butter
 
I didn't really have dinner. I wasn't hungry in the evening, I stayed up to midnight, and then there's the ice cream cone.
 
After eating it, I started thinking, "Why? Why did I eat this twice in a row?" My answer: I was rebelling. I was trying to tell the world and myself that I can eat whatever the hell I want, so screw you. (There's also an ad involved, but I can't get mad at a commercial for doing its job.)
 
I think it's a reaction to the "stay away from the 7-11" edict I have placed myself under. (I can't eat pre-made sandwiches? Well, screw you, I'm having ice cream!) … I never said it was a good answer.
 
Under 2000? X
 
Water - 5 cups 
 
Exercise - Walk to supermarket
 
Today: The usual, I guess. I have to do some serious exercise today.

Ice cream for dinner isn't so awful. And you are RIGHT - you CAN eat whatEVER you want to eat. The question is - what do you want to eat? Things that are going to get you to goal, or the things that will keep you where you are? I ask myself these things ALL the time, btw. I know what it is to rebel against edicts that I place on myself. That backfires on me. It helps me more to stay flexible and realize that a high cal day is a blip on the screen. One day in a life of many days - or so we have reason to believe when we awake and arise in the morning! Today is a new day - hang in there and do not be so hard on yourself.....you deserve to get what you want.

Throat's still a bit itchy, and the bad feeling is spreading to my ears, I think.  (Infection? Post-nasal drip? I hope it clears up soon.)

Exercise - Kneeling push-ups (20), walk to pharmacy
 
Tomorrow: More writing, more exercise. I hope to finish my draft tomorrow, maybe find someone to read it over and help me come up with a title. 
 
I stayed away from the 7-11 today. Hopefully, I'll be able to stay away tomorrow, too.

Yesterday was good, but I wasted the evening doing nothing.

School Lunch - Wakame rice, pork, sauteed vegetables
 
At work - 2 cups of coffee, 2 cookies
 
Dinner - Sandwich (324), ham roll, coffee (118), 2 oranges, cereal bar

Water - 5 cups 

Exercise - None. 

I think I'm coming down with a cold. The back of my throat is itchy. I blame the weather. 65 degress one day, 50 the next.

Today: Another day off. My plan for this weekend basically reads: Exercise/Write/Clean. (It's going to be a party, man. :-/ )

Today's the vernal equinox, and a public holiday, so I mostly stayed home and worked on my story. I finally reached the end. (Sorry, no time bomb, but there is an exploding wall and shrapnel in the emotional climax.) Will be spending tonight re-reading, editing, and general molding. (I'm afraid that I've inadvertedly wrote a slice-of-life story with too much plot, or a romance story with too little. I'll make it work.)

 
Breakfast - Coffee (98), two sandwiches (335 and 263), butterscotch bread (365), 1 orange, another cup of coffee
 
Lunch - Cereal bar (190), rice balls (333), 1 orange
 
Dinner - Salmon with lemon, kimchi cabbage sauté (carrot, shiitake mushrooms, onion), cereal bar, coffee with milk
 
Under 2000? X
 
Water - 6 cups 
 
Exercise - Kneeling push-ups (31), walk to supermarket
 
I threw a few cards at a box. If they land outside the box face-up, I had to do that many pushups (face cards being 10). I stopped 6 cards in, when I realized that this was a bad idea for a lot of reasons. Mosty because I'm terrible at throwing cards. And at push-ups.
 
Work tomorrow, then another day off Friday. 
 
Have to remember to go to bed at a decent hour.

 "Official" weigh-in day: I've lost ... 1.3 lb (.6kg)! Harrumble! (And yet I feel kind of angry about that, even though I really shouldn't. This is better than expected, considering how half-and-half I've been this week.)

 

Today was very nice. 65, 70 degrees out, The sun was out in full force. (And me without my cool new hat.)

Breakfast - Omelet (2 eggs, frozen veggies, cabbage, slice of cheese), coffee 

Lunch - Chicken/veggie medley, cheese/spinach bread (181), coffee (98)

Snack - 20 strawberries, 1 orange, sports drink (95)

Dinner - Coffee (98), cheese bread (181), hot dog (286), sandwich (335)

Under 2000? X

Water - 6 cups 

Exercise - 20 min walk from the licensing center to the station 

I did a lot of walking today, actually. I had a choice: to drive or to use the train. I chose the train, though not just because it would force me to walk. I chose it because driving to the licensing center is horrid. I would have driven straight down one main road, but that main road is always congested. Walking to the station and catching the train is only a few minutes quicker, and a lot less stressful.

The fresh air, the window shopping after, and the budding flowers made me feel very happy. Nevermind that I kept getting hot and sweaty and the sun was constantly in my face. (I missed my hat.)

I wonder if getting a driving license renewed in the States involves having to sit through a safety video while you wait. 

Also, completely unrelated: I'm a little pissed off at TV Asahi at the moment. They've decided, because Japan isn't in the final, they will broadcast a recording of the final WBC game in the middle of the night (as opposed to live, tomorrow morning, as originally planned). Not Cool.

And one more thing, with is totes related: I was on Mark's Daily Apple again today ( http://www.marksdailyapple.com/reasons-avoid-exercise/ ), and it led me to this Nike ad about excuses. ( http://youtu.be/myDYE49KPlQ ) Don't mind me, I'm just writing a few down to use later...

Hey - you lot more than a pound in a week and that is terrific! To renew license in US doesn't involve watching safety video in my city, but it's not a bad use of time....especially with all the bad drivers around here. I have seen some crazy stuff lately! LOL - especially when I am on my bike!

Not much happened today. 

My email got hacked for the first time ever. (I've been online since '97. You would think this would have happened sooner.) 
 
Puerto Rico beats Japan 3-1. (Uchikawa's mistake in the eight is hilarious. One news show asked after the loss, "What the hell happened?") 
 
And the meeting went well, although I was pretty jittery before and a bit more during. (I also had to have lunch an hour late because of it.)
 
See? Pretty much nothing.
 

 
Breakfast - Two sandwiches (263 and 324) from the 7-11, coffee (98), 1/2 apple
 
School Lunch - Rice with corn and fish, jumbo pot sticker (or pork dumpling if you prefer), soup
 
At Work - 4 cups of coffee, sweet paste cake, broccoli
 
Pre-gym - Cereal bar (190)
 
Dinner - Chicken/veggie medley, a banana
 
Under 2000? X
 
Water - 4 cups :( 
 
Exercise - Dumbell exercises, treadmill 35min (3.45km)
 
I also tried something called the wall squat at work, just to see if it's as hard as they say. (Answer: It is. Oh... oh god... my knees...)
 
Writing tonight. I have the day off tomorrow, so I'm going to the DMV first thing in the morning. (I have to go before the 26th.) Not sure what I'm doing afterwards.

I've tried reading while on the treadmill once. It didn't work out. To be honest, I think I'm one of those people that can't walk and chew gum at the same time. I can only imagine how writing and walking would go.

I planned for half a second to celebrate St. Pat's Day by dying all my food green. But then I remember that a. I really don't care about St. Patrick's Day and b. I have no food dye. (As a compromise, I ate a lot of cabbage.)

Breakfast - Omelet (2 eggs, cabbage, frozen veggies, slice of cheese), yogurt with marmalade

Snack 1 - Slice of brownie cake, cup of coffee, 1/2 apple

Lunch - Omelet (same as this morning… only with much more cabbage), cup of coffee, 1 strawberry, tsp of peanut butter, cereal bar (190)

Snack 2 - 3 strawberries

Dinner - BBQ chicken and veggie medley (cabbage. bok choy, carrot, onion, shiitake mushroom), some kimchi, yogurt with marmalade, tsp of peanut butter

Water - 6 cups 

Exercise - … I didn't. :(

My challenge for this week (which I'll completely fail at, but, hey, it doesn't hurt to try) is keep my calorie intake under 2000... at least. Even on my best days, I still eat too much. 

Not looking forward to this week, tomorrow especially. Lame duck work, presentation/interview with my employers concerning next year, and then finally a chance to unwind at the gym. (Can't believe that I'm looking forward to torturing myself on a treadmill :D ) Still haven't pulled out my suit for the interview. Or packed for the gym. Or packed for work, for that matter.

Didn't finished my story as I hoped. But, now that I'm thinking about it, aside from minor preparation for next month, I'll have absolutely nothing to do at work tomorrow. (It'll be unprofessional of me, but it's better than pulling out a paperback to kill time.)


Also, completely unrelated: Finally figured out the World Baseball Classic is going on. (I don't watch TV that much.) Tomorrow, my native country is going against the country I currently live in for a spot in the final. I'm cheering for Puerto Rico, of course, and I love that my little non-country is getting some face-time in a country that knows very little about it. At the same time, Japan won the Classic twice already and will be a really hard team to beat. (Shame that I'll be working when it's on air.)

I did a lot of snacking today. It was bad. (I actually read an article not that long ago that said snacking is the bane of modern society. It said that we snack not just on food, but also on information, and implied that it had something to do with the impulsive, ADD nature of things today. [Or maybe it was something I dreamt…])
 
Breakfast - Omelet (2 eggs, frozen veggies), cup of coffee
 
Snack 1 - Cookies (I don't remember how many other than it was a lot), slice of brownie cake, 3 cups of coffee, 2 oranges
 
Lunch - Omelet (frozen veggies), cup of coffee
 
Snack 2 - Small bowl of kimchi, yogurt with marmalade
 
By 4pm, I felt sick to my stomach. Too much sugar, with too much spiciness on top. Blurck.
 
Dinner - Cup of coffee
 
I snacked too much on sweets. I'm really not hungry at the moment (8pm), at least not for dinner. I don't know how to feel about this. (I might feel hungry much, much later.)
 
Water - 6 cups (so far)
 
Exercise - walk to the grocery store (also so far)
 
I got a bit of writing done today, despite constantly being distracted. I sloughed through a scene that I just couldn't finished, and am now strolling through the next few parts. I'll probably stay up a bit tonight to finish as much as possible.
 
I am hoping I'll finally finish this story by tomorrow. My finished draft is due on the 1st, and there still a lot to do after I finish this rough version.
 
Tomorrow is my monthly writer's group meeting, but I don't think I'll be going. Part of it is shame (I never managed to finish my submission piece), part of it is financial ($20 for the train, and then spending money...), but most of it is this thing that's due by the 1st.
 
Right, back to work. p_(> o <)_q Hn! Yeah! Look at those (nonexistent) guns!

I agree about the ADD tendencies today. Information is so accessible and suductive. Good luck with finishing your story. Please don't feel embarrassed for not finishing it on schedule-all good things come in their own good time!
