Lost 3lbs but most important is that we are eating a lot healthier. Weekend was busy and did a lot of walking, cleaning and shopping. We will be going to South Dakota on the 1st and will come back on the 4th. Lots to do up at the homestead. Best part will be seeing the fall foliage and walking without the noise of the city. This week my goal is to be exercising everyday if it is just a walk after lunch.

Progress as of today: 7 lbs lost so far, only 62 lbs to go!

Happy Friday and wooo hooo for a long weekend. Work has been very busy as well as after work. We had a display night at the final game of the Omaha Royals last night where we gave away almost 800 beads and bags. I am hoping we will see some business from it.

MJ leaves for South Dakota this morning. His uncle passed away about 2 weeks ago. He never married nor had children so his estate has been passed on to this nieces and nephews. MJ is the executor on his side of the family so we will be making more trips to the ranch. We went 2 weeks ago for the funeral and it is beautiful up there. I did a lot of walking and plan on doing more each trip we make. I am not going this weekend as all his family will be there plus I have so much to do here. I have attached some pics of the land. I also added a pic of a sunflower field. This was close to Winner, SD.

Will check in tomorrow. Still on track and positive!

This summer has been one of making eating mistakes but most of all lack of moving. MJ and I are back on our diabetic diet plan as he also gained back some of the weight he lost and has not watched his sugar intake for the past 2 months. So we have been watching sugars and starches the past 2 weeks and even I have gotten my butt off the couch or chair and started walking. Right now we have no weight goals only meeting our food goal and exercise goals. 1200 calories for me and 1 mile of walking or 20 minutes stretching/exercise each day. So far this week and part of last I have met those goals.

This weekend will be good as MJ is going to the ranch in South Dakota and I will stay home. However I have made plans for every day that includes walking or staying away from the fridge. Movie with brother, farmers market and art tour on Saturday, Peter Frampton concert with girlfriend (there will be dancing) and remodling the basement bedroom all weekend so that I can surprise MJ when he gets home.

So is to taking steps to a better me!

I have missed all you and plan on writing everyday!

We are happy you are back. You're never beaten until you admit it. SO just say no to that fridge and keep on moving those legs. You should download the biggest loser series off Piratebay.com and watch that while he is away... its what I'm doing and its helping me leaps and bounds... if they can do it so can we.

Happy Friday.

Well this was my birthday week so it was crazy. Dinners with family, friends, baseball game and hubby spoiling me.

Healthy choices went out the window but I am back to better choices yesterday. Took a slide back to the bad weight as this is the weight today. Still taking it one day at a time as well as 1 meal at a time. I am going to the farmers market tomorrow and my tomatoes at home are starting to finally turn red. Our weather here as been very cool and we only had 2 days in July with 90 degree temps...this is not typical!

I am attaching some pics from my b-day celebration at the omaha royals game. I threw out the first pitch and we had a suite that evening so we hung out with some of my best friends.

Had dinner with a girlfriend last night and chose a wonderful turkey burger and salad instead of burger & fries. Lunch yesterday MJ wanted to go to a pizza place by the shop that has adarn good buffett. I had mega salad, 1 slice pizza. Great choices yesterday but did not get any walking in.

Today we will have subway for lunch (i am going to try their low fat chicken salad) and I need to figure out dinner as I need to do some shopping after work.

Here is to day 6 and making the right choices and getting some walking in!

You, my girl are on my heels in the days...... I messed up RoYaLy this last however many weeks/months.... Dag Nab!!!!!!!!!!!

Only way to get 'er done is start making the right choices all the way around..No second guessing or figuring where cheating can come in, etc...... WORK!!!!!!!!!! is what it is...SOoner I realize this is the way it is going to be the rest of my life, the sooner the weight will decline & the better off I will be overall.....

Cheating wasn't the right term....Eating too often the unhealthier options.... No taboo foods here, just common sense in not eating the junk several consecutive days/weeks/months....LOL ;-)

I am on day 4 of getting back to health. Watching calories as well as sugars and starches and exercising. We met up with some friends last night but Mike and I had baked chicken before we went so we would not eat after 8pm. Instead of my usual cocktails I had 1 glass of zinfendel and water.

Tonight is dinner with a friend but we have picked a place that offers healthy choices

My goal is not long term anymore it is just one day at a time. Goal for this week is 2lbs.

Just a note to say I am still around. I have been reading many of your entries and your words give me strength. I am in a funky place right now with my mental and physical health. So many demons yet not enough strength to battle them on my own. I am getting ready to start counseling and am seriously thinking about going away for a few days by myself as sort of a spiritual retreat. I am approaching my 48th b-day and something has to give. Sorry I have stayed away so long but know that I do keep up with my DD buddies and throw only good thoughts your way.

Hey VJ! Good to hear from you, we need you here! I think counseling is a great idea and may be just what you need. I went to a life coach, which is pretty much the same effect. I will let you know how that goes, but decided to work with her and face my own demons and limitations! Good luck to you! Xo

Hi there. I sure wish you well. I know getting away for a couple of days can really help. Stress causes you to keep weight on you, so I sure hope you work it out.

I can relate to that "funky place". I hope that you get it sorted out and figure out which direction to take and how to get started. A self-spiritual retreat sounds like a good idea. I don't know if you have done this, if it has helped. Birthdays have a way of making us take stock in ourselves... (((hugs)))

48th birthday?? Girl - you are still young! I am the old lady here - 54! Birthdays are a good time for change. It just sucks that the only lasting changes come from within and human nature is such that we go about looking for change from external sources.....darn it! God bless.
