So, I started cleaning this morning, whcih led to cleaning the mess of dust and wires behind the tv. I have three old game consoles lying back there, and no real idea what to do with them. Keep? Sell? There's still games to play and I might want to use that region 1 DVD player someday. The vacuum cleaner, though, doesn't seem to work anymore and I'm more ready to chuck it into the trash in anger.

Breakfast 2 eggs, bell peppers, olives
instant coffee
Lunch fried chicken (3)
instant cocoa
Dinner chicken salad
bottled coffee

More not-great eating today. Lazy.

Typhoon Trami's blowing through tonight. It wrecked through the south (my brother stationed in Okinawa said he was without electricity for two days). It's not nearly as strong now, after traveling up the coast, as it was down there, but it's still very windy and full of rain.

... It'll probably be fine. *fingers crossed*

Tomorrow, work, probably? Maybe?

Progress as of today: 10 lbs lost so far, only 90 lbs to go!

graindart on 09/30/2018:
Good to see the scale inching down. Looks like you're at 10% of your goal completed.

Looking at your lunch menu gets my mouth watering. Now I'm craving some fried chicken wings covered with an asian-style sauce and a side of kimchi.

pinklatte on 10/01/2018:
Thank you. :)

Fried chicken will do that to you. Now that I'm thinking about it, I would like some spicy wings...

BearCountryGG on 09/30/2018:
It seems like vacuums only last for 5 or 6 years around here...trying to clean with one that doesn't work is such a disappointing waste of time....Congrats on the pound lost!!

pinklatte on 10/01/2018:
Thank you. :) I have a feeling it's a temporary bump down.

I don't know how long vacuums are supposed to last. I had mine for over ten years, but I rarely used it.

Donkey on 09/30/2018:
I think you need to go over to Gain's house and help him clean up his work area, LOL... He's right - fried chicken sounds delicious! I can't remember the last time I had fried chicken. Wings or spicy nuggets sound really good right now - YUM!

pinklatte on 10/01/2018:
I can't! I can barely keep my own house in order. My workroom is a mess. :)

happy-1 on 10/01/2018:
good job! cleaning house always makes me feel better and cheat less overall. I say sell anything and everything you can. Why be burdened with extra stuff?

HIghlight of the day: I paid my bills. Yay.

... I slept and ignored my chores. Which isn't to say that today was bad. I thought it went okay. Apart from how little I got done.

Breakfast 2 eggs, bell peppers, olives
bread roll x 3
Snack chocolates
rice crackers
Dinner steamed bun
Greek yogurt

I didn't eat well today. Not at all. I was hungry, but I didn't feel like cooking. And I didn't feel like buying food, either. I just ate whatever was on hand.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 91 lbs to go!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/29/2018:
Sleep is very important. Lately, when i need it and without any sleep aids, i can sleep 10hours no problem. it's necessary and a healer for our bodies.

i am ignoring chores today too...mostly i have chores set aside for next Monday when i am off. just a couple chores! :)

sorry you didn't have anything like veggies on hand, i try to actually by some prepared food when i know i will be home and want some health food options when i'm home...especially lately now that my car is not near my apartment because they are doing repaving of the garage area...means that i am less likely to go out and walk to my car LOL...i may go get it today though! so it's close by for tomorrow evening when i need it!...but prob not...haha...see!? not eager to walk to my car!

pinklatte on 10/01/2018:
I still haven't gotten into the habit of buying veggies to keep at hand. Like... snacking on veg sounds horrid to me.

The car thing made me laugh. :)

BearCountryGG on 09/29/2018:
I think we all need days like that once in a while!

Payday has come, and I got a nice chunk of money from all the weird work I did in August. It relaxed me so much that I went a little nuts at the dollar store. I bought so many cleaning supplies.

Breakfast 1 egg, bell peppers, olives
bread roll
Lunch ramen with soy soup, with cabbage, onion, bean sprouts, spinach
spring roll
burdock salad, with carrot and cucumber
Snacks instant coffee
4 mini cakes or chocolates
1/4 pear
Dinner pizza steamed bun
fried chicken bites
drinkable strawberry yogurt
Red Bull

Ah, Red Bull. I did go a bit too nuts, I think.

But I have money to pay bills and not feel so stressed out like I felt this past month. I went to the dollar store and the pharmacy, but not the grocery store, during my post-work spree. Because I really didn't feel like cooking tonight, either.

I will go tomorrow.

I walked 10k steps today. Yay.

I'm very tired.

Tonight, I'm doing a bit of laundry and drawing a lot. I fudged a file last night (always save your work!), so I'm going to try to redraw the lost picture. But, the version I lost wasn't that great. So I'm going to push myself to make something more better.

I've never heard of it as a tea. It's quite good in a salad, but I have doubts about how good it would be in a tea.

It's not raining tonight. Yay....

1 egg, bell peppers, olives
bread roll
coffee x 2

Lunch rice with chestnuts, sesame and salt seasoning
fried salmon
clear soup with tofu, seaweed, Japanese radish, onion
lotus root stir fry, with carrot and bell pepper
Snack cookie
instant coffee
Dinner coffee
pizza steamed bun
twisted roll bread

I need to buy an eraser and freaking groceries. Get something other than bread into the kitchen. But I only just took off my bra and I really don't want to put it back on. It's Thursday and I'm low on energy. ... I need caffeine...

But I will go for a walk tonight. The rain finally cleared out and I have to take advantage of it.

I guess. I'd rather sleep.

I got an email today about volunteering for the Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics. 10 days, 8-hour days, doing all sorts of stuff in the middle of the summer. A possibly hot, melting, neverending 100-degree summer. (This past summer was a torment.)

By the time the Games starts that summer, I think I will be free. So I might just apply. See what happens.

Breakfast 1 egg, chicken, bell peppers, olives
bread roll
Lunch sweet potato stew, with chicken, carrot, onion, mushroom
curried cabbage salad, bean sprouts
lemon chicken
Snacks banana
pear wedges
mitarashi dango (mochi rice cake balls covered in sweet soy sauce glaze) (157)
Dinner tuna rice ball (230)
cheese bacon steamed bun (200)
coffee (93)

The best part of lunch was the stew, hands down. I love Japanese sweet potatoes with a passion. (Also the salad tasted like butt and the chicken tasted too strongly of lemon.)

Ostensibly because of the Harvest Moon, someone brought in dango, enough for everyone to get a stick of three. Another thing I love. It made me want to buy a pack of them for myself. But 150 a stick is a bit... sweet.

Tonight, *shrug emoji*. I'm listening to a lot of classic rock and just relaxing. Maybe I'll go to bed at a decent hour for once, too.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 91 lbs to go!

horn_of_plenty on 09/26/2018:
those buns sound delicious and decent calories. yum.

lately i'm craving popcorn! maybe tonight!

interesting food...the curried cabbage sounds awesome!

in general, stew is nice and healthy...

great food!

pinklatte on 09/27/2018:
They're good, but they're not the healthiest thing. (Which is why I like them, I guess.)

... I'm not a big fan of popcorn.

I want to make some of that stew for myself soon.

BearCountryGG on 09/26/2018:
Being involved with the Olympics would be awesone...what n experience. And by then you will probably weigh so much less that it will be even more enjoyable....good motivator.

pinklatte on 09/27/2018:
It looks and sounds like a lot of work, but it's a rare opportunity. And you're right: it is a good motivator to keep at it.

Today was okay. I reached 114 kg this morning. I wonder if it'll take another 2 1/2 weeks to lose the next 2 pounds.

Breakfast 1 egg, bell peppers, olives, bit of chicken
pizza steamed bun (210)
coffee x2 (150)
Lunch wanton soup, with carrot, leek, bean sprouts, bok choy
teriyaki tofu burger (which also includes chicken and pork haha)
spinach saute with corn
honey butter roll
Dinner coffee (100)
cake (220)
fried chicken rice ball (290)

Honestly, the wanton soup was sooo goood.

I walked 10k steps today, mostly at work, it was a full day.

Tonight, I'm baking bread rolls. What a good idea, baking bread late at night.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 91 lbs to go!

graindart on 09/25/2018:
Congratulations on the weight loss. I know it's not going as quickly as you'd like. It never does. Even at a slow pace like this, stay on track and your weight will be back into the double digit kg by beginning to middle of next year.

pinklatte on 09/26/2018:
I'm not angry about how long it took. It's just, I was too stressed to enjoy getting there. Fingers crossed on reaching those double digits. :)

BearCountryGG on 09/25/2018:
You got lots of veggies in…. Good!!

pinklatte on 09/26/2018:
lol I really have no say in the matter. :)

horn_of_plenty on 09/25/2018:
loving your meals!!!!!!! how tasty! wanton soup is awesome especially if veggies are also involved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pinklatte on 09/26/2018:
Ah! I mispelled wonton!! It was a real good soup, though.

The full moon looks very lovely tonight.

Breakfast 1 whole egg, bell peppers, olives, bit of chicken
Lunch (11am) chicken and stuff
Dinner (4om) chicken and stuff
Snacks cookies x4
coffee jelly with cream, sugar
... Dinner #2 (7pm) mini cold ramen (egg, ham, seaweed, cucumber)

The portions today were smaller than last week. It wasn't enough food. I ate dinner early because I was so hungry, and even so, I still ended up picking at the pile of snacks and buying some food at the grocery store.

I went to the grocery store to get a new charger cord for my phone (from the dollar store) and some more flour. I did some math in bed last night: 1kg of flour makes as many portions as 2kg of rice, is 1/3 cheaper, but requires more work than measure and push a button. If I find a discounted bag of rice, wonderful, but I won't keep my hopes up.

Tomorrow is work until 7pm. Yay, school lunch. Tonight, I will draw and drink a few glasses of water.

I think I should have bought coffee, too.

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 09/24/2018:
What will you make with the flour?

pinklatte on 09/25/2018:
Bread rolls, basically. But I have a bag of chocolate chips and a bag of walnuts, so I'm trying to think of what to do with them.

Donkey on 09/24/2018:
My emphasis this week is on food as well. We can do it!

pinklatte on 09/25/2018:
*fighting pose* Yeah!

Horn_of_plenty on 09/24/2018:
Your dinner of cucumber and seaweed sounds delish!!!!!!!

pinklatte on 09/25/2018:
Cucumber and seaweed are surprisingly delicious. :)

happy-1 on 10/01/2018:
Brown rice is less processed than flour and more in line with your goals

pinklatte on 10/02/2018:
I’m not a big fan of brown rice, but I’ll see about getting a bag of it when I run out of rice.

pinklatte - Sunday Sep 23, 2018

Another day spent at home. Whether it's better than yesterday is still up for debate. I, at least, feel better.

Breakfast pizza toast x2
Lunch same as breakfast
Snacks chocolates
rice cracker
Dinner chicken, onions, bell peppers

More than once, I wondered if I have a slight cold. The junk food probably didn't help my mood get better, maybe, but in the end, what did it matter. It's sleep that I needed in the end, I think. I slept through most of the day: I'd get up and try to do stuff only to give up and roll back to bed. I didn't care enough to drive to all the Sports Day events, and I don't have the money to go to the Meetup. So I rested.

The only downside to this... state: I haven't been able to draw for four days. Well, that's not exactly true. I worked hard on it the last few days, but nothing came out of it or I lost interest.

Finally made some food for myself in the evening. I almost added the package of kimchi I have from some weeks ago. But in the end, I decided against it.

Tonight, I will draw. I feel like I should go for a walk, if only because I have been inside all day, but I don't feel like it?

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

Donkey on 09/23/2018:
Sometimes, we don't feel like doing something (that's good for us), but feel much better after doing it. I often need to give myself a mental "push" to get it done.

pinklatte on 09/24/2018:
That is a very good point. :)

BearCountryGG on 09/23/2018:
I have days where I want to sleep all day too...….but if the idea of accomplishing something makes me want to sleep...I set a timer for a few minutes...and get busy doing that....I can do anything for a few minutes….and then I ill at least feel like I accomplished something that day too.

pinklatte on 09/24/2018:
I do that from time to time, mostly when I have to clean or focus on something. It helps, but if I'm drifting off asleep, there might be something to it.

graindart on 09/23/2018:
Seeing many of your daily food lists makes me crave "chinese food" (chinese, japanese, korean, etc). I love most any type of it, but have been trying to avoid rice and pasta lately. While I currently love it, I wonder if I'd get tired of it if I lived somewhere that it was native and the daily norm.

pinklatte on 09/24/2018:
I don't get that sick of it. Maybe because I grew up eating rice most days, anyway. But no variation can get tedious quick.

Horn_of_plenty on 09/24/2018:
nice eats, seems simple for a nice day at home!

I also slept a large portion of the day, but then slept poorly last night :( still glad i am pretty caught up on sleep, works better for getting thru the workweek!

pinklatte on 09/24/2018:

A poor night's sleep is annoying, but I'm glad you feel refreshed. Good luck this workweek!

pinklatte - Saturday Sep 22, 2018

This day was a lost one.

1 whole egg, bell peppers, olives
cottage cheese

Lunch Rice, olives

coco banana chips
cookies x5
some weird corn puff tube

Dinner yakisoba
1 egg, bell peppers, olives

I have no real energy or drive to get anything done today. If I had taken a shower first thing in the morning, maybe the day would have gone different, but I didn't do that. I oscillated between lying down, half-asleep, and watching TV. I did fold my laundry. Still haven't put them away, though. All that's left in the house was rice and the dwindling pile of summer snacks, and I would have been okay with eating just that for the next couple of days. I'm just that tired and stressed.

Just as I finished catching up on TV, the Internet cut off. And I sat for a couple of minutes debating, food or wi-fi. I think I made the wrong choice, but I walked to the store to pay my bill and I got some groceries on the way back. Because October's going to be especially barebones, and having online entertainment might make it more bearable.

I'm going to go back to lying down.

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

Donkey on 09/22/2018:
Thank the powers that be for online entertainment. Watching "The Sopranos" (multiple times) saved me $$$ in therapy a few years back. I kid you not.

Sounds like you're in a slump - or getting there. Please be kind and nurturing to yourself. Doesn't have to involve food, but sometimes even a warm washcloth on the face can feel comforting. (((hugs)))

pinklatte on 09/23/2018:
:) I've never seen the Sopranos, actually, but I hear you.

Slumps are the worst. The warm washcloth on the face felt really good, thank you for the suggestion.

BearCountryGG on 09/22/2018:

I hear you. :)

pinklatte - Friday Sep 21, 2018

Yeah... I might have crashed today.

I did not weigh myself this morning because I was too tired to remember? I think? I was running late. I managed something for breakfast because I woke up at 4 am and was conscious enough to heat up leftovers before crawling back under the covers.

I kept drifting off behind the wheel, so freaking dangerous. Music helped a lot, but I'm way too tired. I miss my morning can of caffeine.

The only ray of sunshine right now is actually all the drizzle; the Sports Day scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to Sunday. Yay, I get a day of rest before I have to drive to two towns and four schools in one day just to "show my face".

.... which I'm not doing. I'm staying in bed on Sunday, too. Maybe.

Breakfast rice with last of the chicken eggplant and stuff
cottage cheese
instant coffee (51)
Lunch curry udon, with carrot, onion, leek, spinach
dumpling, garlic chives and meat
tuna salad, with cabbage and corn

chocolates x2
mini cake x2
a different kind of mini cake x2
instant coffee (25x2)

Dinner mos cheese burger (414)
onion rings/french fries (205)
milkshake (298)

Actually... I was kind of halfheartedly interested in eating sushi tonight. But the chain restaurant near the house closed shop recently. Going to Mos Burger is very rare for me, and it was an impulsive move. I've eaten dinner out a lot this week.

Tonight, I will finish doing the laundry and catch up on a bit of TV. Tomorrow, I will go grocery shopping. Mostly though, I will sleep.

Progress as of today: 6 lbs lost so far, only 94 lbs to go!

graindart on 09/21/2018:
We used to eat at restaurants 4 or 5 nights per week and during the summer when the kids were home we'd supplement that with a few lunches out also. Switching to cooking at home with planned meals has resulted in healthier food intake along with saved time and money. I used to think going to the restaurant was quicker, but I figured in 10-15 minutes drive each way it was actually quicker to cook.

When I'm on-plan I rarely go inside a gas station / convenience store. That is often times my biggest temptation time to grab some simple carb snacks. When on-plan I use the pay-at-the-pump option so I don't set foot inside.

pinklatte on 09/22/2018:
I hear you. :)

Donkey on 09/21/2018:
I did not sleep well either. What's going on? Is it the equinox?

pinklatte on 09/22/2018:
I just don't sleep enough. I go to bed too late and wake up too early. By Friday, I'm exhausted.

legcramps on 09/21/2018:
