Good afternoon

Yesterday was a good day food and water.

Today rainy day and since I knew this I slept in till 9:00am wow that is really late for me but felt good when I got up definitely will not need a afternoon nap today. 

Food for today not too sure yet but there will be a salad, probably some of my soup and of course protein somewhere in there either with soup or with salad.  Easy stuff.  I really try not to concentrate on what I eat all the time as I did before.  It is simply the fact of providing my body with food and good food and filling food.  Very important to me is that it taste good and that my taste buds are pleased with the outcome of whatever I make then I do not miss all of the old trigger foods.

Well that is enough about my day - wishing you all a great day enjoy.

Yes, it is very important to me that I enjoy what I eat so that I don't go in search of fulfilling foods later. I try not to obsess over every little piece of food, too. Got keep it simple for me!

Good morning

Yesterday was another good day.

Breakfast out was good ordered my regular breakfast egg/bacon.  Got back around 2:00 so did not get hungry again till about 8:00 and since I had started in my slow cooker my cabbage soup before leaving in the morning I had a 2 cups of soup in the evening (always use a cup for my soups find it easier to handle then a bowl)... lol  no spills in the living room.

Today back to my regular routine and will probably have more of my soup and cook some porc tenderloin for my protein will be good with the soup mixture.  If I have anything else maybe a salad it is definitely to be determined for the rest of the day.

We are having a beautiful sunny but cool day - ideal Fall day.  Really enjoy this weather.

Next week I have decided to go out to the cottage for a few days now that will be a challenge because I will probably have a few drinks... a few... lol  When I get together with my S-I-L we always over indulge her with her martini and me with my ceaser.... lol what the hell we only live once... lol

I like to eat soup in a big cup with a handle - it's really a bowl with a handle - I guess it's a soup mug kind of thing. Enjoy you time out with SIL.

yes i like indulging too...but seem to mostly regret it? i think when i drink...i eat too much more!? lol...yes, sometimes it worth the indulgence especially when we balance it out throughout the week.

Good morning

Yesterday was a good day.

Going out for brunch today so up early so that I can take my time with my coffee and do my posting.  I hate to rush in the morning.

Yesterday I used up the rest of the cauliflower rice that I had made and turned it into chicken fried rice had not made it in a long time.  I cooked some chicken and put that in it also and I always use the low sodium soya sauce so no effect on swelling which I usually get if I eat too salty one of the reason why I do not salt anything.  It turned out exactly like my mom's use to turn out but she used real rice.  My recipe is the low calorie substitute with the cauliflower.  So I got my vegetables, my protein and did not do any harm to my routine.  Later in the day early evening had a little hunger time and made myself a salad with shreded cheese and nuts and that got me through the evening.  Overall it was a great day.

That is about all that is going on for me - cool day - long pants to go out today.  Wishing you all a great day.

Good morning

Yesterday was a good day for food and water.

I attempted to make the red curry thai sauce and it turn out exactly like at the restaurant that I went to.  Instead of making it with chicken I decided to make it with shrimps but did put all the peppers that I love red, orange, and yellow all the sweet peppers.  It is definitely something that I will make again.   I served it on some cauliflower rice instead of real rice - did not want to increase the calories and did not want to introduce any more startch into this dish.  Definitely a 5 star on the scale of good.

Today I need to get my act together and pick up around the house and a few little things.  It is a rainy day and cool so perfect day to do things inside.

Today the food is undetermined I will see what I feel like eating later.

Wow what a meal! GREAT idea to serve a curry over cauliflower rice. Sounds amazing.

Five Star is the name of my company - Five Star Electric Corp.

So now whenever i hear "five star" hotels or restaurants or ratings, i always think of this company!

I would so love to eat that meal you made. Shrimp is also lower calories than chicken. Some satisfying fat from coconut milk in the curry right? So it makes the meal more filling i'd say...i do not enjoy low fat everything. i do make sure to get fats in everyday..some of my fat comes from dairy...although some say it's not the healthiest i really could care less! :)

Good morning

Yesterday was a good day food and water.

Today a few errands since we are having a beautiful day.  I am going out for brunch with my friend on Thursday probably a breakfast outing they are always safe for me. 

This week is the big grocery week.  Every two weeks I restock the cupboard.

Not much else going on so I will wish you all a great day.

Yesterday was a good day.

Going out for breakfast with brother and S-I-L this morning our regular outing.

I really do not know what I have in store for the rest of the day but nothing much as far as I can see.  Probably a few errands and pick up some stuff at the grocery store because my vegetables are getting low again.

Up real early I am sure there is a nap in my future this afternoon... lol.

I really did eat up all those veggies the other day / last weekend! Amazing! It's crazy how often we have to go shopping when eating healthy. or in general how often a person needs to go food shopping if they prepare some of their own food!

I have a bok choy that i was supposed to cook last weekend still in the fridge, i must cook it tonight!

What veggies are you buying today!

I love my pepper red, yellow, orange, zuchini and always run out of mushrooms because they do not keep as well. The other groups is for my Salads that I run out off celery, onions, radish, tomatoes, red onion. I go at least 3 times a week because I do not want to loose any. I also get broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussel sprouts and it all depends on what is on sale. I never get can vegetable and do not get carrots too high in sugar I find and do not do any of the starch vegetable corn, lima beans, peas, etc etc... I also find that all the green veg are higher in iron and that helps. So much on vegetable definitely a subject I could talk about for hours because so much you can do with them.

Sounds like a good day in store. I have been amazed how often I've gone to the grocery in the last two weeks since being off work. It's not that Im cooking that much or differently than when I was working, but I never seem to have the exact ingredients I need. Plus some of the fresh stuff goes bad sooner than canned, etc., so I wind up going more.

One thing that helps is I chopped or slice up all my vegetable and vacuum pack raw not cooked. That keep them in the fridge almost a week. My problem is that I tend to run out of vegetable.

Puddles, you and I think alike when it comes to veggies. I too avoid canned, and starchy ones, mostly because of the sodium (I'm a salt-a-holic as it is! ) and being diabetic. Any carbs seem to spike my Blood sugar easily. I DID learn something from you today however. I was so used to shopping once a week, (and ending up throwing things out!), a habit formed while working all those years. I thought I'd spend less if I only went to the store once a week or so, but I actually ended up wasting a lot of money by having to throw vegs out. I will take your advice and shop for only a day or 2 at a time. It will also help get me out of the house and around people more often. have a great day, Puddles!

I never salt because there is salt in a lot of stuff plus salt is something people can add at the table. I have not used salt I would say in 40 years.

Puddles, when I'm cooking for other people I don't cook with salt, but for myself, egads! My oldest son no longer uses salt, ... hasn't since he and DIL got married, 28 yrs ago. I wonder how long it really takes to not want it anymore. I think food has no flavor without salt. This is another thing I need to add to my to-do list.

I think that it is like everything else you go through withdrawal and then you don't even notice it is not there. Did you try using rock sea salt instead which is a replacement for real salt that might be your answer. The other period of withdrawal for sugar and other stuff is about two weeks I don't see why this would be any longer then those.

My day was a lazy day but I enjoyed it .  I do not have anything planned for today.  The weather is really cool and soo nice.  I am welcoming the break in the hot spell. 

I got up real late today I must have been tired but from what I don't know.  It sure felt great.

Food today not sure yet but will figure it out later.

Sounds like a nice weekend, Fran. Sometimes I think our bodies just get tired from the stresses of life and say "I'm gonna take a little more sleep than usual to even things out.". We have had so very much rain here and today is beautifully sunny so I'm going to get some of that sun. It puts me in a good mood when the sun shines on my head. Have a great day!

I took a nap after my walk today - is that counterproductive? I hope not! Ha! I think I have increased my activity so much that my body needed the rest. I didn't nap all week, but took a nap yesterday and today. Just keep on keeping on, Fran.

Breakfast was my usual egg and bacon brown toast.  Last night I decided that I was still full so I made myself a soup and salad.

Not doing much today a cloudy and yes we will get rain later today.  Just a relax day.

Good morning

Yesterday was another good day. 

I did have somewhat of a relaxe day but did get some stuff accomplished.

Today I am going out for lunch and I am hoping to get to the restaurant in time not to miss the breakfast cut off time.  I enjoy breakfast out when it is available.  It is always an easy choice and safe.  Now if by any chance I do not make the cut off time it will probably be salad with some kind of protein another safe choice. The fun part of going out is not necessarily the food anymore like before it is just simply the fact of going out for lunch and eating with company.  I remember when I thought that going out for dinner gave me permission to chose whatever was on the menu - it was all about the food - how crazy was that thinking.  That is what I call the FOOD FOG to be followed by the GUILT TRIP.

That is about it for me hoping that you all have a great Friday.  I also want to wish J. a Happy Birthday.  I am also happy to see all the new members on the site lately.

Have a nice outing, Fran. I too love breakfasts, .... any time of day. However, I'm a carboholic and last Friday went out for dinner then to a play, and had Fettucine Alfredo. Big mistake, and I knew that when ordering, but, special outing and all those excuses won out. Once I have a carb meal, it takes me forever, (a couple weeks!) to stop craving them. I need to keep in mind that I'll always have to be strong when it comes to carbs, otherwise my health is going to continue to suffer. Your loss gives me determination. Thanks!

I have substituted real noodles for: Rice - Grated cauliflower, Noddles - Spaghetti squash and I have a machine that I can make noodles with zuchini or with sweet potatoe (Starfrit machine). It is all about fooling our brain.

Totally agree with your thinking in regards to going out to eat. I still like to go out & have nice flavors...but...it USUALLY remains all about the veggies for me - because then i don't regret it at all. Veggies are a main part of my restaurant eating, when i can & usually there is to choose from. Smart lady you are to realize it IS about the company. Lucky you to have the company.!!!

Thank you for the bday wishes...i also like that you welcome the new members here! It's great to see our community grow when it does. I hope some of the old regulars that i miss start to come back too...

PS -  After I posted I thought I would go weight myself just felt like I had loss and yes down 2 pounds.  This is definitely a great day maybe my plateau is over for a little while.  Funny how my plateau always lasts about 3 to 4 months. 

Good morning

Yesterday was a good day.

I decided yesterday to make my soup that I enjoy and since I had all sorts of vegetable in the fridge plus the main ingredient being cabbage I wanted to use it before I had to throw it out.  It did warm up the house a little with the stove but well worth it. 

Did not do much in the house but today I must get off my butt and do something about it. 

Tomorrow I am going out for lunch with my friends to a little cafe/bistro that I enjoy and it is suppose to be a nice day.  It is right on a lake pleasant surroundings.

Apart from that all is good at this end and I wish you all a great day.

I have been thinking how wonderful it will be when cooler weather comes so I can make all the great soups I love. Soups are so wonderful because you cook once and eat like 3 times! Also - most soup (that I make anyway) is so healthy - with good ingredients. Of course I love bread or cornbread with them....but.....

This soup is called the skinny soup actually you can eat as much as you want all day but I just love it. Fall and soup do go together.

Congratulations on your recent loss but your TOTAL LOSS is just amazing, I think! Can I ask how long it has taken you to lose the 93 lbs? I would love to lose 90 to 95 lbs. Also, would you share your recipe for your SKINNY SOUP? Thank you so much, and, again, Congratulations!

I think it is probably now about two years give or take. I tend to have long plateaus but if I stick to my routine the plateau finally breaks. Being consistent is the trick. The recipe I have posted it on one of my posts a few month ago. I will have to find it for you.
