Hello all!

I hope everyone is doing well!

I have slipped up so I'm back to journaling again.... I lost a lot of weight last year but gained some back at the end of the year due to the holiday festivities. I'm now about 150 and want to go back to 137lbs. My goal weight.

Like you, I've regained weight also and working on getting back to goalweight...yet again and hoping to maintain it this time...I really think it is easier to get to it than to maintain it although that doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? Maria and I have talked about our struggles with maintenance over the years, seems it's a never-ending cycle. I have 10 or so pounds that seem to keep finding their way back to me. Good for you for coming back and getting things under control!

I hope you are all doing well. Losing those few pounds towards goal weight has been harder than I thought it would be.... Anyway, I have been counting calories and going to the gym twice a week. This morning, I saw another lower number, yay! Stay well everyone!

Hello all!

Whoa, last evening was a tough one! I lost control and ended up eating a slice of dave's killer bread with lots of butter on it. Since I was not satisfied, I ate a banana. After that, I started craving popcorn so I ate the whole huge bowl of popcorn. The reason of this behavior was because I was so busy during the day I hardly had time to sit down and snack all day. This morning I still feel full and probably will skip breakfast and lunch all together. I'm trying to relax and will take it easy so I can center myself. I fear that although I have lost this much weight, I still have a tendency to "lose it"and go back to my old behavior of crazy eating... Today is going to be a day of relaxation and centering myself.

I am sure at this point you will not be affected by upping your calories every now and then especially on the days you hit the gym, not to mention the extras were all healthy.. Sometimes hunger is legit so sometimes you have to fuel..Anyhoo hope you had a good day and evening <3

Parabens!!! I always check your posts and I am so happy you are winning this difficult ongoing battle. I know how you feel, in 2011 I was able to lose a lot and I still had this constant fear of losing control again. It happens. Just stay focused and know that YOU ARE IN CONTROL and there's always a new day to make it better if we have little mishaps here and there. bejinhos!

Hi everyone!!!!

I've been back from vacation in the Pacific Northwest for a week now, and I finally feel free from jet-lag.  It's always fun to travel, but I do dislike the time differences that leave us in a state of drowsiness for so long!  Washington and Oregon States were warm and dry, my favorite type of weather!  The ocean water on the Oregon Coast was way too cold to swim in, but it was fun to walk on the beach every day.  The ocean breeze was also a little on the cold side for me, so I always had to wear a light sweater.  Now that we are back to the hot and humid climate of tokyo, the same kind of weather one gets in Washington DC, I really miss my vacation! 

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer months! 

My diet got a bit sidetracked during the two-week vacation period thus I gained 3 pounds.   However, I've recovered very quickly and lost those gained pounds quickly and then some more.  I feel I'm now in the ultimate, final stretch of my diet, towards my ultimate goal.  And I feel confident I can make it!  I even bought a couple of rather expensive size 8 dresses at banana republic in seattle for my final goal!  I can get in them at the moment, but they look waaaaay too snug, haha! 

The diet I'm following is still the same: 1200cal/day, low carbs, no added sugar, protein from lean meats, lots of green veggies and some fruits.  Also, light exercising: walking, ab crunches, upper arm exercises... Also, 1 vitamin supplement pill every day, just in case I'm missing any specific vitamin, in my diet.  Doctor's orders! 

I was supposed to see the doctor a few days ago but I rescheduled because I had made such little or no progress since I last saw him, just before my vacation.  I'm going to see him again in two weeks, so I better get rolling!  The tough part is that I've had so many dinner invitations and/or entertaining at home since I came back.  It's been tough, but it's possible.  Stay well everyone!

Great to see a post from you and so happy you are doing so well. We have had a very mild summer here in KY, but the humidity is kicked into high gear the last two days. It will spontaneously rain and it doesn't "blow in" like it usually does - it just falls straight down from the sky for about 5 minutes - as if to relieve itself and then sun comes out and it's as humid as it was before the rain - go figure! Keep up the good work!

I saw the doctor today and he was so happy that I lost almost 5 lbs since I saw him last time, 3 weeks ago.  So was I!  Also, he upped my calorie intake to 1200.  As for the rest, it's all the same: I can eat just about anything in moderation except for white rice/bread/pasta.  I should also walk or go to the gym a couple of times a week.  He told me not to overdo it because 1200 cals is still too little.   He also told me that it would be ideal if I lost another 10 lbs for an optimum weight for my hight, age, lifestyle.  So, I'm changing my goal here, too.   I've been doing exercises for my tummy muscles and arm wings and the exercising is paying off.  I'm really liking what I see!

Hoping that my DD buddies are all doing well!! As for myself, summer has been busy and HOT, very high temperatures in tokyo! Dieting is  coming along well, I'll go see the doctor tomorrow morning.  I feel great, so I have a feeling that we will not make too many changes in my diet. We will go to the USA for a couple of weeks in August, more precisely to Seattle and Oregon coast. Stay well everyone, I hope you are having a great summer!

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to see that adding exercise to my new dieting regimen has kicked me out of my mini-plateau.   Also, I have been so good at eating low calories.  Yesterday, it was one of my friend's birthday, so 8 of us ladies went to the ritz to celebrate.  I (and one of the other ladies who is always on a diet, like me) ordered a fruit salad, instead of the high caloric high-tea.  In normal cirscumstances, I'd have ditched my diet and have those scrumptious crumpets, mini sandwiches and those wonderful sweet little things that normally come with a high-tea menu,  but this time around I'm really serious about this dieting!  I took photos of myself in my new dress, but after looking at the photos,  I do realize that although I've come a long way and look nice, I still have quite a ways to go... So that's my new take on dieting: it's never the end.


I took photos of the city from the top of the ritz/tokyo, which is only a 5 minute walk from my house.  I shall post it here later if i still remember how to do it.

Hi Everyone!


I went to the doctor on Wed to check if everything is going well with the diet.  He is very happy with the results but told me I could make changes to the diet if I want to see better/faster results.  Actually, it's been so hard to lose weight recently, so much effort and so little result... so I'm going to start power walking and/or light jogging and/or swimming. According to my BMI chart, i am still borderline overweight/normal weight, which is pretty cool really, considering that I was borderline obese in the beginning of the year. I can see a huge difference when I see myself in the mirror: just a slightly overweight woman, as opposed to the fat person with little self esteem that I used to avoid looking at in the mirror. It's actually a bit hard to believe I've come this far! So, since I've come this far, i might as well go to the end! o  I hope everyone is doing well!

I can't post here today, so here's my entry:

I was stuck in a very troublesome and stubborn weight loss plateau but I'm out of it now. I've upped my calorie intake and started exercising. I can picture myself losing a few more pounds in the next couple of weeks before I see the doctor again. I feel energetic and healthy. I've been swimming, using the gym equipment for both up and lower body. My size 12 jeans that I couldn't wear anymore because of the weight gain around Christmastime are now GONE! My size 10 jeans are getting a bit lose and I fit in a couple of size 8 pants. Yay! I hope everyone is doing well!
