Good Monday morning-

It was a nice weekend. Not a perfect weekend but at least maintained the loss of the last week. Nothing to get excited about as the loss was the gain of the last month. Still no real planned exercise except for snow shoveling & ice chipping. Although I'm not minimizing that as exercise. We have ice like a glacier outside the garage & I'm still shoveling paths from our time away in Feb.

Sunday- B- toast w/ smart balance, L- squash soup & crackers, D- Pork, eng muff, cole slaw, wine, Snacks- peanuts, 2 squares of chocolate. Hmm- seems like I'm missing something. Came to around 1400 when I posted on LoseIt.

Anyone else use the LoseIt app? I Really like it. it stores your food so it's easy to pull up foods that you eat frequently. You can put the ingredients of a recipe & it calculates your serving.

I'm not posting my weight here because it makes me too crazy. Up a pound, down a few , up again. Just not serving a good incentive for me. I will say that I am setting a 10 lb goal. Although I have a lot more to lose than that, ten is a doable goal for now.

Have a good Monday!

Still chipping away at the ice - what a Winter you are having.

It is at times a up and down journey that we are one but if we stay on the journey it starts going our way.

Good luck and have a great day.

Umpqua on 03/09/2015:
I'm crossing my fingers we won't have to do another ice chipping - I am SO done with snow removal :P It's supposed to stay above freezing this week so hopefully we just get some good melting. Good for you for staying on track this weekend!

Maria7 on 03/09/2015:
Good on the 10 pound goal...I have recently thought about doing the same...losing just 10 pounds would put me back into some of my clothes I currently can't wear. :-)

thinnside40 on 03/09/2015:
Goals in any amount are good. When reached, they all add up in the end.

Maria7 on 03/10/2015:
Hope you are having a good day today on Tuesday. :-)

teensybikini1 on 03/10/2015:
Thats great that you kept the weight off. Keep it up! Good short-term goal.

Friday was not the day I had planned but that's life. Called for a dentist appt & since they could take me right away , there went my gym class. & then went to the oral surgeon for a consult in the p.m. Turns out that my last dentist didn't take care of a few dental problems so need to have a wisdom tooth pulled & three teeth need major work. At least I feel that I have a good dentist now & will have the needed work taken care of. Thnk positive, right? !

Meals yesterday- B- wh toast, L- salad & soup out at restaurant , D- Thai restaurant- vegetabes & chicken Snacks- gl of wine, peanuts, piece of chocolate

No idea about calories. Fairly healthy meals . Always think there are hidden calories in those Thai meals.

Will try to get some exercise in this weekend.

thinnside40 on 03/07/2015:
If you can think positive about dentist visits...Kudos to you! I've not had good luck w/them over the years, but hope you can get things take care of and in the right way.

Another decent day -

B- fruit & almond milk smoothie, L- tom/basil soup, small piece of toast, handful of cashews, 2 slices of turkey; D- leftover African stew; Snacks- peanuts, 100 calorie ice cream bar; 2 pieces of chocolate

Exercise- just floor stretches

Happy about- keeping calories in check, eating mostly healthy food, eating small portions, no wine

Today- more exercise

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Umpqua on 03/06/2015:
Excellent work, I hope you have a nice weekend!

biscottibody59 on 03/06/2015:
You're really on track--good job!

Enjoy the weekend there!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 03/06/2015:
hey! I like your eats. just like you, I am eating more nuts (even if it's in the form of peanut butter) and fattier foods including full fat yogurt and also avocado. Seems these foods are more satisfying than their low fat and no fat counterparts.

Good day yesterday. B.- wh toast w/ smart balance , L- carrot/ ginger soup. D- African stew w/ chick peas, tomatoes, peanut butter, sweet ptoatoes Snacks- peanuts, sorbet, wine, apple, square of chocolate

Exercise- shoveled a path (long) with all of February's snow, mall walking

Challenges- out with grandchildren for ice cream & ordered sorbet- I guess better choice than ice cream

Feel good about- Having a no meat day, getting in some exercise, having mostly healthy snacks. Scale showed down one of the pounds gained in Feb.

Now to make it two good days in a row!

Have a great day!

Umpqua on 03/05/2015:
That stew sounds delicious and good job substituting the sorbet, definitely a better choice than ice cream!

I'm back home & back to routine. So, no excuses, right? Seriously, March has got to be a month of being more diligent about watching my portions, eating healthy , avoiding snacks ( This is me giving myself a pep talk.) This morning I had a Dr appt & of course one of the first things they want to do is get a weight. I said, not today. The nurse said, ok, works for me. I like this time of the patient being more in control.

Speaking of weighing in though- I didn't have a scale available to me for the last 5 weeks. So I did gain a few pounds & hope to get those off this week.

Yesterday- Wh toast w/ smart balance. , ginger carrot soup, chicken stir fry w/ rice yogurt, gl of wine, 2 oranges, mini snickers. serving of almonds

Hope all is well with everyone!

Umpqua on 03/04/2015:
Welcome back (although I'm sure you're wishing you were back in FL :) At least we're supposed to have a thaw next week, I'm so looking forward to that. Good plan for March moving forward!

thinnside40 on 03/04/2015:
Best wishes for moving forward!

grannyannie on 03/04/2015:
Hope you can get back on track. I'm having trouble getting seriously on track and staying there! We'll both do it with the holiday weight we both gained!

Been busy with guests and not in any usual routine. Things going well- Good amount of walking. Walking at least 30 min each day- more often 45 min.. I do appreciate being here in Fl & able to exercise outside. Though I am missing my weights & abs class & zumba. Food choices fine in the morning through about 4 pm.

Not going so well- Snacking starting around 4 until dinner. I just can' t have any nuts, crackers, or I keep going back for more. Same for a glass of wine- often turns into a glass & a half. All of these things are preventing me from losing.

As I said in an earlier post, I don't have a scale here . As I was walking into a Publix market one day I saw a woman getting on a scale. One of those large scales & I thought - That is the last thing I would ever do! I hate being weighed in the Dr office so the idea of weighing myself in a grocery store for all of the world to see would be a nightmare!

Have not been logging my calories on Lose it for the last few days so will get back to doing that this week.

grannyannie on 02/17/2015:
Looks like you are enjoying your trip. It's VERY challenging to stay on plan when traveling.

Umpqua on 02/17/2015:
You picked a great time to get away with all the snow and frigid temps we've been dealing with. Good for you for staying on top of the exercise while away. I wouldn't get on one of those public scales either!

puddles on 02/17/2015:
I remember the scale at the Publix stores I also could not bring myself to doing that in front of all the people. Enjoy your holidays and have a great day.

Maria7 on 02/17/2015:
I know what you mean about the nuts, etc...I've had to recently give up my beloved sunflower seeds, too.

thinnside40 on 02/17/2015:
Enjoy that weather and the visits :)

biscottibody59 on 02/17/2015:
Nuts I can manage--crackers not so much. I can't stand ritz crackers, but if the leftovers are sitting around (I use them in an apple strudel recipe), I'll inhale them. Go figure!

Hang in there!

Hi- Having a great day. A good vigorous walk, Qi Gong with friends, lunch at a good restaurant, reading & a little paddle around the pool, now sitting on the lanai wondering what my husband is preparing for dinner. Life is good!

Food- B- banana & peanut butter, L- portobella sandwich w/ small salad, S- goldfish crackers D- ? somethign with chicken & spinach & a glass of wine.

I will be happy if I can return home at the same weight as when I left. As I said in an earlier post , there is no scale here in my condo & I haven't gone out of my way to find one - so need to pay attention to what I'm eating. I can't afford to gain any weight. I should be on the losing side but I'm not going to beat myself up about that during this month.

I am keeping track of calories on Lose It which also helps. Thanks for all of your encouraging comments.

Whoo, sounds like a fun day! Enjoy yourself and your friends, sounds like a fantastic place to be.

Up& down this week.Today a better day with about 1400 calories . Everday seems to be a challenge for me. We've had company & out for meals. Today we ate at home so easier to control portions & plan ahead.

puddles on 02/10/2015:
It is harder with a lot of activities. Have a good evening.

Enjoying my time here in Fl. Have done a lot of walking. 2 1/2 miles again today.

Food- I've been logging on Lose It- has just been okay - around 1500-1600 today .

Today- healthy breakfast & lunch , dinner could have been better - had coconut shrimp & then had 2 cookies for dessert.

Tomorrow- better choices!

Hope everyone has a good weekend !

Hi- Yesterday around14-1500 calories . with 30 min walk & 15 min swim.

Today- 2 1/2 mi walk & around 1400 calories. Not proud of eating some french fres!! Otherwise healthy foods.

grannyannie on 02/05/2015:
We've all got to have occasional french fries! It's one of my weaknesses.

Umpqua on 02/05/2015:
Vacation temptations....We're going to Puerto Rico in April (I just might be counting down the days with all this snow) and I know there will be some delicious challenges there. It's all part of the fun of getting away and I think treats are fine as long as we moderate, moderate.

thinnside40 on 02/05/2015:
I gave into some too.... I'll live :)

biscottibody59 on 02/06/2015:
Enjoy your vacation! It's not easy to make all the best choices when you can choose things that perhaps aren't available at home! Not saying to go off the deep end or anything, but still--enjoy your eats!
