Hi-

Ok, now settled & will be here for the month so need to get serious about watching what I eat.

My plan is to use Lose It to log food. and try to stay around 1400 calories. I'm pretty good about exercise but since I'm not near my gym & usual classes will walk, swim & bike and do my floor exercises.

Food planned for today- B- bagel L- salad with turkey, cheese , tomato D- going out for Thai food Snacks- yogurt, apple , Bagel isn't the best choice but no bread for lunch.

Yikes- I don't have a scale here so that is a challenge in itself. No feedback . I think there might be a gym here where I'm staying so will check that out - it should have a scale.

Sounds like you are ready! I know some people really like avoiding the scale, while i am an addict....hope you find what makes you feel comfortable. Glad you are settled, have a good day :)

You're missing all our great weather here! ;) I'm so happy for you that you can escape it, I'm sure you're having a lovely time. RE the scale, your clothes are a good general guide so you be able to tell if you need to scale back. Enjoy your thai food, nom nom.

Hi- On the road for the last few days heading to FL. Now visiting with friends in SC,

Exercise has been spotty as I've spent many hours in the car. Today a long walk on the beach.

Food- Well- The good news is that I haven't had as many snacks ! And trying to eat healthy meals. Will try to post more when I get settled.

A little breezy for a walk on the beach the weather has been slightly on the chilly side right now in SC but you are lucky and moving on to Fl. I love SC for my Winters. Wishing you a great weekend.

HI-

I'm just kind of plodding along- a couple of good days & then falling back to eating too many snacks. Now probably stuck in the house as I wait for the blizzard to hit. Low snow predictions - 12 in. - high 41 in. Most predictions are 2-3 feet. I've changed my outlook to enjoying winter to considering it a major inconvenience. I'm scheduled to leave for the warmer weather on Wed & we'll have to see what happens. As soon as roads are clear.

Today- B- skipped it today L- small pita w/ bacon, mayo snacks- almonds, raisins , banana pb, wine Dinner- chili

Exercise- gym class- i hr abs & weights, also- hauling wood up to the porch

Hope all in the path of this major storm stay safe!

So far this storm has been a dud here, enough to be pretty but not do much damage. I know other areas have gotten slammed though. I hope your travel plans go smoothly!

Hi-

Had a real work out at Zumba today. Went to a different class & this instructor is much more intense than others I have been to. Less concerned with complicated dance steps and more about intensity & keeping moving. I was sort of looking at the clock thinking I might leave after 30 min but then decided I could stick it out. I did see that others had left & decided that I was the oldest person still left in the class.

Food has been up & down for the last few days. Hoping that Zumba helped out with my lunch today. Ot maybe I was so hungry because of Zumba.

B- sunflower toast with smart balalnce, L- peanut butter sandwich Snacks- a few almonds, pear, carrots - ice cream (wasn't part of the plan!) Dinner- tilapia, broccoli, baked potato - ( ended up dumping the tilapia- didn't tast right & had a small chicken salad sandwich)

Hi-

Well , I went skiing. It was a big deal because I was afraid skiing would be one more thing that I would no longer do. I only went for a few hours & that was enough to satisfy me. It was a glorious sunny day. For me it felt like a spa day! Totally relaxing & fun.

Food - not the best.... B- multgrain bread w/ butter & honey, L- clam chowder w / a few crackers D- 2/3 of a small plain pizza snacks- popcorn, beer, apple

Seems a bit lacking in the vegetable area.... Better tomorrow

Hi- A good day- no meetings, no appointments, no museum guiding. Got to the gym & went to a different class & decided that I like this class more than others so will make an effoert to take this class again. This teacher keeps a good pace, challenges & doesn't wear out my knees !! Also it is sunny today- makes such a difference to my mood. Thinking about going skiing- not today but maybe soon. Haven't been in so long but still have equipment . Afraid that if I don't ski at least once a year that I'll stop altogether & I don't like that idea.

Food- B- scrambled egg, 1/2 eng muff, L- salad with turkey & cheese, strawberries, D- planning- beef chili, snacks- strawberries, yogurt, square of chocolate

Good postings here on DD. Great support & encouragement! Good to be here.

Good work! We don't ski as often since the boys came along but we try to go at least once a year. We're supposed to go to Otis on Monday which I've never been to, but it's cheap and good for the beginners. Are you a docent now? I had a friend who did it at the British Art Museum in New Haven and loved it.

Today- B- oatmeal, L- salad with turkey and avocado w o & v D- kashi dinner snacks- 4 cheese & crackers, pear glass of wine, 12 small pretzels

Exercise- only 15 min of floor exercises

So not a bad day . Will have more exercise tomorrow.

I want some oatmeal....LOL Hard to do when it's only on the grocery list. Hate to go out amongst so many people with sickness/flu... Only 15 minutes of exercise? BETTER THAN NOTHING! Good job.

Today-

B- oatmeal, L- mushroom soup, wheat bread, small piece of apple pie, D- butternut squash soup, eng muff snacks- carrots w/ hummus, a few nuts

Exercise 1/2 hr treadmill

Apple Pie !! Good grief what was I thinking. I am weak. So I figured that the 1/2 hr on the treadmill may have equaled out the pie

Is it possible to eat too much soup- may have had too much squash soup....

The positive side- no wine tonight.

The soup question I don't think so unless they are cream soups - bouillon soups are usually low. Good Grief the pie lol lol. We all have these moments of temporary insanity lol. Have a great evening

Not the best weekend but could have been worse. Always hard when I have meals out.

Today- B- wheat toast, L- wrap with light mayo, turkey and avocado, Snacks- almonds, pear, piece of cheese. yogurt, D- chicken curry, rice peas

Exercise- 15 min floor exercises, 1/2 hr on the treadmill

Good start to the week!

Hi-

It is hard to stick with my plan while eating out. Yesterday I planned to eat an appetizer portion at dnner but somehow when the server mentioned the steak with mushrooms & mashed potatoes that sounded so much better. And then I decided a glass of red wine would taste good with it. I gave my husband 1/2 of the steak so that helped keep the portion reasonable. Today I was out for lunch & was able to keep with a salad & just a few bites of my husband's grilled cheese and lobster sandwich, which I must say was delicious.

Today- B- oatmeal, L- salad with chicken, olives, cheese, tomatoes & some croutons & some bites of sandwich, , D.- plan to have tomato basil soup Snack- handful of almonds , glass of wine

Exercise- 20 min walk
