Good day so far. Now hoping that carries over to dinner as I'm going out & then to the theater. The restaurant has some really good options. Some good small plates. That's my plan.

B- oatmeal, L- bean soup , 12 small crackers w 1 T pb, snack- pear, dark chocolate, a few almonds Dinner- planning to stay with healthy options.

And the good news is that the scale is showing resutls , down 2 of the holiday pounds.

Exercise- 15 min floor exercises, shoveling snow

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/10/2015:
wow! already down 2 of the holiday pounds! awesome! You inspire me to make some changes and re-establish my goal of losing a few lbs myself. I plan to do it mostly by watching calories one day each weekend, lessening calories a bit to create a big deficit.

You've had an excellent week! RE your questions, my boys are in 1st and 2nd grade now. And in a VERY competitive phase....I have a feeling that's not going to end any time soon!

OK 2 good days in a row. No sugary snacks & today no wine. Definetly need to keep this going.

B- oatmeal , L- salad with cheese & turkey, o & V, D- chili with beef & beans, snacks- almonds , yogurt, a few crackers.

Need to get the scale going in a good direction.

Exercise- only my floor exercises. Not feeling 100% today, headache & tired. Just hoping it's not the start of something.

museumgirl on 01/08/2015:
You are on track. Hope you feel 100% soon.

Umpqua on 01/08/2015:
Awesome work and I hope you are feeling better today. Stay warm, my friend!

Hi- I love some of the expressions that the British use. One of the them "Rubbish " very nicely describes my day yesterday. Just plain rubbish! And I won't bore you with the details. Just think about cake and then calculate how many calories in 3 pieces of cake & there you have it !

Today I am focusing on no sugar. I need to get the sugar cravings out of my system. So far, so good.

Various meetings today so no exercise but that's ok.

museumgirl on 01/06/2015:
the cake is a lie....just kidding. Its rubbish. Sweet wonderful rubbish that does terrible things to our bodies and our cravings :) hope you have no more rubbish days!

Jezebel on 01/06/2015:
ha-ha made me laugh :). I love British slang - anything with a British accent just sounds nice.

thinnside40 on 01/06/2015:
I think about cake, I think about ice cream.... Staying away until daughter's 15th on the 20th :) Been 4 days now w/o "added" sugar... Sure is a difference!

Umpqua on 01/07/2015:
Bloody hell! ;) Yeah, I made cupcakes over the break "for the boys" and indulged in a few myself. They are safely frozen now, to be brought out only for desserts for my kids. That's what I'm telling myself anyway. I hope today is better for you!

thinkpositive on 01/07/2015:
Thanks, going in the right direction.

Ok, back to reality! And Monday is a good day to get honest with what I've been eating.

My exercise contnues to be pretty good. Going to the gym about twice a week, some walking , doing my 15 min. floor exercises about 4 times a week

Now to get serious about my eating. need to cut back with carbs, stop snacking on nuts and junk food & cut back on the wine.

Today- B- oatmeal, L- eating out at a potluck party-hoping there will be salads & fruit D- tilapia & a veg.

Umpqua on 01/05/2015:
Hello my friend! I'm glad to see you've been posting on here again, it always helps to see some familiar folks are around. I always find myself coming back to this place and it really does help me to stay on track. Great work on the consistent exercise and I hope you have a fantastic day!

This is the world of reality. Good to see your post again. Have a great day.

museumgirl on 01/05/2015:
Cut back on wine and nuts? Aw nuts! Just kidding. Good luck with the potluck. I really understand what a pot LUCK means now - if you are lucky, something you can actually eat! :)

thinnside40 on 01/05/2015:
Look forward to getting to know you and share successes :)

What is it about Mondays? The day of new beginnings, of making promises to myself , the day of great resolve. "Starting today I will not have any sweets. Starting today, I won't eat as many snacks. I will lose a pound this week - or if I'm feeling particularly strong, I'll lose two pounds this week . Ugh- I get sick of this , of making promises to myself & then having it all dissolve by about Wednesday. And then disappointed with myself for not following through. I know I'm not alone on this , that it is difficult to change bad habits. But I also know that it is doable. So , here it is Wednesday. No , not a complete wipeout but I am doing some soul searching & trying to figure out how I am going to stick with what I think is a decent plan. I don't want to give up, and I don't want to give in to excessive snacking and eating sweets that are bad for me.

Today- B- fruit smoothie, Lunch- at a restaurant-a Mediterranean salad, D- planned- salmon, green beans, , Snacks- nuts, orange

Exercise- 40 min walk

puddles on 12/17/2014:
Its a little bit like new years resolutions dont do it. If you can get off the sugar kick it will help a lot. It takes at least two weeks before you start feeling it but your craving will be fewer and fewer. Have a great evening.

SkinInTheGame on 12/17/2014:
I've wiped out everyday this week! But I believe in my reset button! Everyday you have the ability to "win the day".

Go out and win Thursday and if you blow it (like I may), push the reset button and win Friday!!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/22/2014:
nice, healthy eating today! good job!

I've been absent but for no particular reason, just got out ofthe habit of posting.

The good news- exercise has been ok. I've been getting to the gym 2- times a week & using my treadmill once a week.

Nutrition /eating- Definitely could be better. Holiday events, eating out has not helped. I just can't have sweets in the house.

Basically I've been maintaining . No progress.

How to turn things around? I'm going to to re-start using the LoseIt ! app. It's easy to use and keeps me honest about calories. And I'll be better about posting here.

I was going to get more serious after Christmas, but what's the point of waiting!

puddles on 12/13/2014:
good to hear from you. Have a great day.

museumgirl on 12/13/2014:
Maintenance is important, too. And even if start now and take a few days off for Christmas, you will make more progress rather than quitting right now. Good luck!

SkinInTheGame on 12/14/2014:
Good for you - no harm/no foul!

Keep posting too - we are all in this together!

Good luck with your "restart"!!

Kind of a crazy eating day. B- oatmeal, L- cookie, salad D- turkey, acorn squash w/ butter & br sugar more salad Snacks- gluten free pretzels- a few handfuls, about 6 crackers- some fancy Whole Foods healthy type,

Exercie- 3 hours of yard work

I worked around the yard doing various jobs- some raking, wrapping up hoses , trimming along the walkway in preparation of snow tomorrow. Then for some reason I wasn't at all hungry so went out stopping at Whole Foods. Well, you know what they say about shopping on an empty stomach. Well I bought a bunch of snack foods- mostly crackers, cheese and a big salad.

biscottibody59 on 11/26/2014:
Hope the snow doesn't cramp your style for Thanksgiving!

Enjoy the day!

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2014:
Oh yes someone needs to remind me again about shopping in an empty stomach too!!! :)

I have had a decent week but not seeing any huge results on the scale. I have to keep reminding myself that eating healthy & exercising is important & if I can stick with it I will see results.

I won't go back over the week. Thursday was the day that I lost it a bit. It started with a piece of zucchini bread & later 1 1/2 cookies along with some snack food & a couple glasses of wine. Just a reminder that I have to stay away from baked goods & processed foods.

Today- B- fruit smoothie, L- turkey & cheese Dinner- chicken, rice & broccoli Snacks- almonds, carrots, apple , cheese, glass of wine

Exercise- one hour walk, tibetan exercises

biscottibody59 on 11/22/2014:
You're staying with it pretty well. Keep going, and here's to a better week next week!

horn_of_plenty on 11/23/2014:
Yeah I have the problem where eating just one thing can cause me to have a downfall.
