Seem to be stuck at the same weight. Still keeping my carbs around 100 and I'm not a candidate for really low carbs- it makes me weak and grumpy.

Today- Breakfast smoothie w/ almond milk, peach, and peanut butter. Lunch- leftover swordfish & broccoli, snacks so far- almonds, crystallized ginger, chocolate ( this is the area where I should cut down & be better amount amounts) dinner will be chicken w/ tomatoes & rice.

Exercise- golf

biscottibody59 on 09/18/2014:
The original diet I went on here on DDs was somewhat low-carb and rigid, but I lost about 20 pounds on it. I couldn't tell you how many carb grams it had. I modified it over time, but the idea was good. I think about trying it again from time to time, but I question my motivation to commit.

If you can gradually transition to the level of carbs (from the lower end) that allow you to exercise like you're accustomed to, sleep well, lose steadily and moderate your moods then you're doing great!

thinkpositive on 09/19/2014:
For me it's also a way of keeping my cravings under control. Maybe I'm eating too many almonds but it's better than eating all the junk food.

I've been continuing to watch my carbs but not folowing the Dr Oz 2 week diet. Still eating/drinking the smoothie with almond milk & frozen fruit for breakfast & avoiding bread for lunch & then trying to avoid heavy carbs and sugar. I can't say that I was totally successful over the weekend but haven't gained any weight.

Today- breakfast smoothie, lunch- salad w/ avocado, ham, turkey & o& V dressing

Exercise - hope to get out for a walk!

Success is defined by different things some times. Success is that you are still trying... So often we look at what we think is a mishap and not the big picture. You are still moving forward ... That's success!

Had a great day yesterday & then had a glass of wine & a high calorie/carb dessert. That was stupid! No harm done but no weight loss. Pretty much staying the same this week. Have lost 3 1/2 lbs in the last 2 weeks so happy with that . Funny how quickly the carbs add up. Just with my breakfast smoothie it's 41 carbs which includes 1 c of unsweetened fruit & a /2 banana. I guess I could cut back a bit on the fruit. Going to try to stay under 100 carbs but challenging if I start the day with 41. Busy this week so it's been hard to get a lot of exercise in but did walk 1/2 hr yesterday & a little longer today. Have a great weekend.

biscottibody59 on 09/13/2014:
You're doing great--have a good day!

puddles on 09/13/2014:
Yes it is hard to stay under 100 carbs. I also look at my carb intake and my fat intake. I dont worry too much about calories but automatically if the carbs and fats are low the calories are not high. Have a great day.

Destiny65 on 09/13/2014:
Keep up the good work!

OhioRaven on 09/13/2014:
To me, Carbs are Addictive. One sandwich and I start falling off the wagon. a bowl of spaghetti would probably do me in. Have a great day TP.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 09/14/2014:
I am not sure what any detox should feel like except that sometimes there can be withdrawal symptoms when your body is so used to getting something that you've been giving it for so long. The body is just not used to being without it. Anyways, I am praying that's what it is - because I long to be pain free again. I am so young - only just turned 32! - and shouldn't have leg pain everyday. it doesn't make any sense.

Just like Ohio wrote above, I am also a carb addict. They easily affect me, my mood, and my cravings. If I have too many carbs, I will struggle to keep from binging. My secret is to always have healthy food around & little very dangerous carbs so that I cannot make those bad choices when at home :) usually I just have fruit and some small popsicles that can help me when craving sugars.

It's Thursday already - the week is flying by. I find myself making a few modifications to the diet which I will stop calling a diet as it's just a low carb way of eating. Breakfast- fruit smoothis, lunch- salad with avocado, turkey , oil & vinegar, dinner- a small portion of spaghetti, sauce & 2 matballs , salad w/ o&v snacks- a fruit juice spritzer, almonds, peach

Interesting about following this plan - I have had alcohol only 1 day out of 9 days. I have had 1-2 glasses of wine everyday in the past. That in itself should make a difference.

I have to start being more diligent about measuring & counting carbs

Exercise- golf & gardening

museumgirl on 09/11/2014:
I think cutting the alcohol really helps - I too was a 1-2 (or more) glasses a night, every night. Now I can't have any wine (boo hoo) and have a cocktail (bourbon and water) once a week or less. I think it's making a difference. I do miss my wine.

Still trying to follow my low carb diet plan. There have been meals where I just do the best I can. Lunches yesterday & today were abit off plan. Yesterday lunch was 2 tea sandwiches and fruit and then I was just famished & ate way too many almonds. Today I was running late & had a banana and about a T of peanut butter. Other than that having my almond milk & fruit smoothie.for breakfast & today bonelss pork chop on the grill with broccoli & rice. Tomorrow out for lunch so will have a salad with oil & vinegar. Exercise yesterday- nothing , today- Zumba

Hope your week is going well!

I knew that it would be hard to follow the diet over the weekend . Friday night dinner went decently with Salmon & vegetables , but I did have 2 wine spritzers, oh well. The Saturday I won't list all the food but breakfast was ok, lunch was a lobster cookout & not so good as far as following the diet & then no planned dinner so some food that I shouldn't have had. Let's just say that it could have been worse!

For me, it had always been the weekend that I allow myself a few too many indulgences.

Back on plan today!

Hi all-

Yesterday was good- stayed on track with the two week program. Well, had a few additions but nothing to put me over the edge. Food- Breakfast shake with almond milk & fruit, Lunch- salad with tuna & avocado w/ olive oil& balsamic vinegar, Dinner- salmon , rice & asparagus, snacks, yogurt, carrots & hummus, popcorn, and dried mango slices. The last 2 items were not on the menu.

Exercise- golf

Plan to stay on track through lunch & then have a dinner out so may have to make some modifications. Then also away tomorrow so that will be a challenge.

todays exercise- Zumba

I'll report back on Sunday or Monday.

Day three of my 2 week diet went well with a couple of minor additions. In my morning shake I used about 1 1/2 - 2 cups of fruit when the plan called for 1/2 c. Also had a small number of pretzels. Otherwise an almost duplicate of yesterday's eating . Breakfast shake with almond milk & fruit, salad with a little turkey for lunch, chicken & broccoli for diner, Snacks of 2 handfuls of almonds, yogurt, hummus w/ carrots. Under 100 gr of carbs & around 1300 calories

Exercise was a healthy walk.

Weigh in shows a around a 2 lb weight loss and although I realize this is mostly water weight , it is a good start.

puddles on 09/04/2014:
Yes it is a good start keep up the good work. Have a great day.

biscottibody59 on 09/04/2014:
Good going--always motivating to have that early loss. Nice to get the walk in too.

Keep up the good work!

Yesterday went well. Day 2 ofhe two week diet. Basically a repeat of day 1- fruit/ almond milk shake, salad w/ turkey & avocado , 2 handfuls of almonds, veg& hummus , chicken, rice & broccoli , yogurt I didn't measure everything but figure the calories are around 1100-1200. The good news is that this is an easy "diet" No cravings, no real feelings of being hungry. I recommend it if you are looking for a good way to get back on track. it's Dr Oz two week diet. Exercise- nothing to speak of.

Weigh in tomorrow.

Hoping to have another successful day.

puddles on 09/03/2014:
That sounds great. It is the most important thing not to be hungry because that keeps us on the right path. Good luck today.

biscottibody59 on 09/03/2014:
The diet sounds like just the thing for you--hope it continues!

I'm not on FB, but I wonder if someone could put up a shoutout on that page to "lure" some members back:-)

Tomorrow . . .
