Had a good day yesterday. Following Dr Oz 14 day diet with some modifications ( having 1 c of coffee) Food: Lots of vegetables, chicken breast, 1/2 c wild rice, 1/2 banana, turkey breast, almonds. Exercise- 1 hr class at gym + housework

I'll weigh in mid week

Hi old DD friends !!

It's September 1 and that seemed like a good time to get back to DD and to make a renewed effort to count calories, exercise consistently and to eat healthy.

I see many new members and it will be good to get to know you. Also hope there are some DD members who were here when I was active.

My plan is to record food & exercise here. Happy memorial day!

Checking in-

yesterday calories were closer to 1600. Need to get them down to closer to 1400. Too many crackers!!

Today- toast & egg for breakfast, cup of soup w/tomato & pasta for lunch, 1/2 piece of bread, apple, handful of nuts, dinner- tilapia w/ panko crumbs, sweet potato, broccoli, glass of wine

exercise- hour aerobic & weights class. Great class.

I'm back after being away in a warm weather climate. I'd like to say that I stayed on track during my time away but that would be a lie!

So- starting tomorrow- writing down food & calories. Will report results here. Exercise- I have cancelled my gym membership which I may regret as I did use it and did enjoy my zumba and weights & abs class but I joined a class that is close to home and is maybe a bit better geared toward my age range- a good workout that includes aerobic, weights , and stretching. So I'll try this for awhile and I can always rejoin. I was becoming a little concerned about my knees in zumba as much as I would try to minimize the twisting ,there were times when I was putting too much pressure on my knees. I can always go to a zumba class at my community center that is taught at a gentler level.

Will try to catch up with everyone.

Good Morning-

Food yesterday- Granola w/ lf milk & 1/2 banana, chicken salad on greens, shrimp stir fry on rice, wine, almonds, frozen fruit bar. Approx 1500calories Good to write food down- I realize light on fruit. Exercise- 30 + min walking 10+ min swimming

Today- will be eating lunch out - maybe dinner too. Try to think before ordering & eating!!

Sounds like a good day of eats yesterday. Writing it down does help, which I've done off and on. One of my goals is to be consistent with writing it down. Have a great day.

Hi - On vacation in Florida so have been busy. Will be making more of an effort to post during this month away. Not in my usual exercise routine but doing alot of walking. Should start using the pool - will try that today. Watched the finale of the Biggest Loser last night. Very happy for those people but not sure it is a motivator for the average person. it shows that it can be done but also the support that was needed to get those results is not easily found in the real world. Thought the winner looked a bit thin- wonder if she can maintain that- or if she should. Ok- will try to report here on a more regular basis. My goal is to consume about 1400 calories and walk about 45 min.

I have a goal of losing 1 1/2 lbs this week & think that is perfectly reasonable. Today- Vitamuffin for breakfast, apple w/pb for snack, soup for lunch, protein bar for snack, planning fish w/ veg for dinner & glass of wine, 100 cal popcorn for later. No real exercise today- yesterday was hour of weights &abs at the gym.

Watching light snow right now with more to come. Pretty from inside. Hope everyone is having a good week.

That definitely sounds like a reasonable plan. We only got about 2 inches last night although I guess the southern part of the state got much more. On Saturday we got about 6 inches of heavy snow that brought branches down - meanwhile the forecasters were calling for a light snow mist!

Small loss this week and could have watched calories better, The vegetable soup was helpful and will continue to make it or something similar as it was filling and kept calories down for the day. Would like to find a soup that's not tomato based so guess I could make the same soup & eave out the tomatoes. I was away for two days this week so exercise was not as good- just short walks on those days. Yesterday was beautiful and went out for a long walk which included hills so good exercise.. Thanks for your supportive comments!

Good job on the loss and getting out to walk!

Soup suggestion: a chowder-type with corn or leeks and potatoes--leave out the fat and use either chicken or veg stock.

Good work on the loss! I recently made a turkey soup with veggies and brown/black rice that's super filling. There's also a great Cooking Light carrot soup recipe posted here (I think it's on the recipe forum anyway) that's yummy.

Congrats to you. The vegetable soup must have helped a lot. Making the same soup and leaving out the tomatoes sounds good if you don't want tomato-based. Good on that walk in the hills yesterday...sounds like it was beautiful out.

I can actually say that I'm having a couple of good days. Calories yesterday around 1300-1400. Today hoping to be closer to 1000.I made the WW vegetable soup & that will be lunch & dinner with a few low cal snacks thrown including fruit and pretzels. Exercise yesterday was an hour of weights and abs; today an hour of zumba. A foggy, rainy day but that's okay.

Didn't mean to let so much time go by without checking in. Haven't been doing great. Maintaining basically , Hard to get away from the holiday eating. Exercise has been good- getting to the gym, went cross country skiing lsst weekend. Today was just housework.

Feeling more positive that I can get back on track. Food today -Toast w./honey, salad with tuna, pistachios, piecs of cheese, orange.steak with mushrooms for dinner,green beans, wine.
