Been a busy morning with cleaning as much as possible while I have the chance... 2 boys are late, so I've been "mad womaning" it around here....Kids are out of school til Monday & Meg is much better......

Breakfast ~ Oats (170) Toast (90) Simpy Fruit (20) Coffee (0) 280

Snack ~ Banana (80) 360

Dinner ~ PBJS (300) Orange (80) 740

The boys never came after all..... Tayt is still here & will be gone by 4:30 at the lastest.... I am tired and want to to a nap, but am restless at the same time..... Need to use the restless energy wisely I guess..... I did read a magazine and got some great ideas for Christmas decor.... Sun is shining so bright, even though it is frigidly cold.....  Off to start the crust for peach cobbler.......

Snack ~ M.B.  Popcorn (100) Nothin'

Supper ~ Salmon (100) Brown Rice (150) Peas (60) 1,150 Menu changed to salad (400-500?) 1,240

Dessert/Snack ~

H2o Consumption = 120 oz. (by 7:30p.m.)

Supper has come to be a late one tonight....After Tayt left and I did a couple things, I laid on the couch and semi-watched Home Alone 2 with the kids..... Hadn't started supper yet & so when hubby got home I started it while he took Ben to Youth Group...... Throat is tickly and irritated.... Praying to hold off getting sick if I am going to at least until Friday (please please please, not on Thanksgiving) Jury is still out on doing any Gazelle mileage... May go a couple miles.....

Progress as of today: 40 lbs lost so far, only 42 lbs to go!

skinnyjeans on 11/26/2008:

Meg is in the shower and ready to go to school the only day she will this week. Woke her up, as she stretched and had a smile on her face she said " I feel MUCH better mom".... Thank you Lord!.... She began running a 102.2 temp before bed last night.. That broke about midnight (with Ibuprofen) and hasn't returned..... She sure looks better than she has the last 4 days....Thanks for all the well wishes for her. Keeping the healthy thoughts for the rest of us to bypass this stuff.

If I don't get to walk, treadmill or Gazelle sometime and A LOT today, I think my legs & back are going to give up on me.... I feel so tight and hurt.... I know it is due to the lack of exercise and my body is tensing up by the hour...... Pray that the boys all 3 take a nap this afternoon, so I can utilize the indoor equipment.....I bought a couple new videos last night, so may have to utilize one if the one boy doesn't take a nap.. They still take a quiet time to give me a break in the 10 hour day.....

Agenda today is to make a crafty Thansgiving something or another with the boys, laundry, dishes (very few -Ahhhhh!!!), strip & re-make Meg's bed & the exercise/walking....

Breakfast ~ Oatmeal(160) 1 S.D. Toast(100) Simply Fruit(20) Coffee(0) 280

Snack ~ N.F.Y.& Honey (145) 425

Dinner ~ Soup (200) Banana(80) Orange(80) S.M.S.F. Coffee(25) 810

Middle of eating dinner..Meg called..... She could'nt stop coughing after lunch recess... Walked over with the 3 boys and got her, instead of just giving her a cough drop... Got her settled, taking a nebulizer treatment & pushing the fluids.... No fever! Got about 2/10ths mile walked... It is C. O. L. D. out there!

Snack ~ Nothin'

Supper ~ Chix (150) Baked S. Potato (160) Green Beans (25) S.D. (100) Honey (20) 1,265

Dessert/Snack ~ Sm. Cake (100) NF Ice Cream (75) 1,440

4 Miles (G)

H2o Consumption = 140oz. (by 11:00 p.m.)

Mileage logged since 2/1/08 = 850

November Miles = 50

Thanks for the advice and encouragement. The dr said to just stop taking the antibiotics since the mastitis seemed to be gone. I wish the benadryl didn't make me so sleepy and I definitely wish it could get rid of the rash! UGH I feel gross and want it gone ASAP. Thanks again though for the info.

Hi Thin! I'm so happy Meg is feeling better, yayy! I hope you'll have some time for yourself, to exercise. Have a great day! Good night!

I there! Sorry to hear about all the sickness at your house - glad Meg is getting better. Whew! I liked your plan for Thanksgiving -finger sandwiches and soup. Very good. And look at your weight!!! 197 - woo-hoo for you woo!

I will miss cookiing this year, but we are prepared to have a nice time outside our usual traditions. No clean up of dishes, either! Can't be all bad.....God bless you all - have a good one!

Monday ? Already !?!?!?!?! What a weekend this has been... Meg is still running a 100.3 temp...She is eating fine, just has the cough, headache & peeked eyes... Called the Dr. office and the nurse told me that they have been seeing a lot of viruses that are hanging on with low grade fevers... To treat Meg's symptoms and call back tomorrow if she wasn't any better they would make sure to fit her in...... Fixed her some iced gingerale, toast & 1/2 banana with a side of Ibuprofen.  I am about the same, just tired from lack of restful sleep last night for worrying about Meg....

Almost done with housecleaning....Looking forward to having it done before Thursday.... This will be the first year in about 5 that I have had it done, not ahead for the long weekend... Procrastination IS NOT on the agenda this holiday season... Having decided to discipline myself FIRST to have the basics outlined for the rest of the family to support. Like the lifestyle change has become somewhat of a change for them that they are enjoying....

Weather is beautiful and the road is screaming at me to come walk.... Holding out that I can get a couple miles in this evening.

Breakfast : o ) Mom's Best  Naturals Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal (130) 1/2 Banana (40) S.F.S.M. Coffee (25) 195

Snack : o ) NF Yogurt (90) Honey (45) 330

Dinner : o ) Soup (250) 1/2 Sand (130) Grapefruit (80) 790

Snack : o ) Banana (80) 870

Supper : o ) Stir-Fry (400 ? ) 1,270

Dessert : o ) Ben's Cake & 1/2 c. LF Ice Cream (250) 1,520

H2o = About 120 oz.....Didn't keep track today....

No walk ~ Boys left late & I had to go get Rx's for Me & Meg's inhaler....  Wasn't planning on a p.m. snack, but got hungry about 6:30 p.m. on my way home from the store...Grabbed the nana, instead of other stuff I got for Thursday (really wanted to eat some of it instead (hummus, wheat thins, etc....)... Put it way in the back seat, so I couldn't reach it.....  Ate supper way too late..... I am tired and ready for bed..... Night Night!

Much Love ~ Happiness ~ Success wishes sent yer way!

hey there. Poor Meg has she been out of school this whole time? On your comment last week about all the china we packed there were some beautiful pieces. I love stem ware and have some in a china cabinet. I would not mind starting to collect again.

So you mentioned a new weight so I am going to do my dance of joy just like snoopy!

Friday I am going bowling with my brother and all the nephews but I may hit some stores in the early AM but it will depend on the sales.

Well here is to a healthy week!

abdab74 on 11/24/2008:
Thank you for the comments...I hope sweet Meg is feeling better soon...I feel for her as I have been battling this same stupid cold/virus for weeks now. You are right, 1 day at a time...

11:00 a.m. and just finished my breakfast.... Meg & I didn't go to church... She is better, but needs rest... I have a scratchy throat and sinus pressure.... Going to down some emergen-C here in a bit.... I usually don't come down sick sick, due to my immune system building resistance over 15 years of babysitting... . Knock on wood!

Weather is gorgeous with sunshining bright....Plan to walk when hubby & Ben get home..... I'm doing dishes & tossing all the lids/containers that don't have matches anymore...  Conversed with hubby this morning in trying to get us ALL to clean or put away as we go when done with something, even if you are going to use it later in the day... Our track record is usually something comes up & it doesn't get taken care of, thus making clutter & messes ignored too long.... COMPILED = an "explosion" eventually (by me ) when I have had enough.

Stepped on the scale to peak this morning... I like what it said!.... I'll make sure to watch things carefully this week and do the weigh-in Thursday morning, instead of Friday..... Thursday will be a day of soups, sandwiches & I'm making a peach cobbler... Instead of a big dinner.... Going to be a quiet day with my parents, brother & sis-in-law....

Breakfast : o ) French Toast - Egg Whites (51) Flourless Bread (180) S.B.P.B. (100) Pumpkin Butter (35).... S.F.S.M. Coffee (25) 391

Proposed Menu the remainder of the day (subject to change)

S : o ) Nothin'      391

Dinner : o ) Progresso Light L.S. Chicken Veg Soup (70) 1/2 Turkey Breast Sand. (135)  596

S : o ) Orange (80) 676

S2 : o ) C.G. Juice (160) Strawb/Watermelon Sparkling H2O (0)  836

Supper : o ) Small Bowl of H.M. Beef Minestrone Soup (Lean Stew Meat, Cabbage, NS Diced Tomatoes, Carrots, Speckled Butter Beans, LS V-8, White/Yellow Corn, sprinkle of AuJus powder, Veggie Pasta & Green Beans). Fixed mine seperate from the rest of the families... They have Potatoes & Dumplings with their's.....Mmmmmm!   (450 -/+ a few ?) 1,286

S/Dessert : o ) Chocolate Cake ~ Ben made a belated b.d. cake.... I offered to make it, but he wanted to..... Made with egg whites (no yolk) & Smart Balance Oil, but frosted with Rainbow Chip frosting..... (300 -/+ a few ? ) 1,586

No walk and no formal exercise for this day... I have been on my feet all but 45 minutes since breakfast..... Started with one thing and then started on another... Still in my jammies.... Feeling a bit tired & looking forward to eating supper, then watching some t.v. or reading a magazine..... Throat is a bit scratchy still, but tolerable... Sipping on chai tea & the grape juice concoction helps.... Meg is much better and full of energy... Cough is productive... Have 2 vaporizers going... She WILL be going to school tomorrow if nothing changes....

MUCH  LOVE ~ HAPPINESS ~ SUCCESS wishes sent yer way!

Went to bed @ midnight & woke @ 9:00 a.m..... Ahhhhhh!!!!! Sun is shining & a loooooooong walk will be taken after I get back home from the bank & the bread store.... Meg is still running a fever, cheeks are a pretty glowing pink/red & the cough is atroshious... Not a spell of coughing, but just when she does, it's painful sounding...She is sitting in her daddy's lap snuggling.... Ben is flaunting his talent with his new guitar pedal as I type & sip my coffee listening.....  Plenty work outside to be done in winterizing today.... Snow is hitting the 3,000-5,000 ft. elevations today.... We sit @ about 1,250, so know it will be here soon enough..... 12 years ago this date, we were sitting in our house staring out the window looking @ 2.5 ft of snow that had fallen on Ben's 3rd b.d... Then on New Year's Day of '97 we were flooding, due to rapid melt of that snow....... Ugh!...

Be careful with your daughter's illness--could be whooping cough (pertussis).

Hope it's not that serious.

Keep looking up with your weigh-ins--I think you're doing quite well with choices! And exercise!

Take it easy!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 11/22/2008:
thanks for thinking of me :)

yes, i'm having MUCH difficulty. parents went away yesterday for the weekend and i just couldn't refrain from eating the house. not because i miss them, but because i had the priveledge i guess to do so. to eat everything. i think eating for me is an escape and something i use to break free from life. and it's sooo old already.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 11/22/2008:
lol, such an assortment of tasty foods and still within reason! great job!

selina on 11/23/2008:
Hey Thin! I'm glad you had a good night sleep! Hope Meg will feel better soon. Have you guys had your flu vaccine this year? Maybe you should consider.... We are going to do it again this year because I think it's worth it. Take care and stay well. And thanks for your good wishes to me in your comment.

biscottibody59 on 11/23/2008:
Oh, thanks for the comment! Not that I wasn't worried about her, but a friend's husband had it and it lingered, though he didn't get diagnosed until months after starting the coughing (they had no clue he could have whooping cough). He actually broke a rib from the coughing before it was all over with.

Thanks for taking time to leave me a note--hope she continues to improve!

The needle sticks @ 197!..... That's o.k...... Plan to weigh-in again on Thanksgiving morning. As long as those numbers don't increase I'm fine by a long shot.....Mentally anyways. May have been a bit different had we not eaten @ 7:30 p.m. last night and I would of logged a few miles yesterday....Old news!.... New Daily Report has begun.....

Well, Meg just woke with a "bark" of a cough and her chest sounds tight as the tin man.... I had already set up the humidifier this morning for the baby is experiencing cold symptoms..... Might as well get sickness over with before Thanksgiving huh?......

No big plans for the weekend, but to make sure the carpet gets shampooed before Monday.....It has been tempting to start Christmas decorating a smidge.... I have the gingerbread town/village that takes so much time to set-up and I enjoy it the most. Only 27 days between Thanksgiving & Christmas this year... YIKES! that means only 33 days left.... Best get on the stick...

My parent's, Aunt & G'ma all failed to even give Ben a phone call yesterday..... I felt so dissapointed for him, as he wasn't feeling well last night. I chalk it up to nerves (he's like me)... I know he was holding out for at least his PaPa to call him before the day was over.... He told me that he understood why his Great-G'ma would forget, due to not being at her house & all that has been going on with her health,  but NOT his PaPa... My mom has some issues with short & long term memory loss, so he wasn't bothered by her forgetting either as both my kids have come to understand she isn't forgetting things on purpose, just is how it has become...... Funny thing is for his day to be passed over by them is ironic in that my mom's B.D. is tomorrow.... His B.D. is ALWAYS 2 days before....For the last 15 years! Made sure to let Ben know that it is o.k. to tell them that he was disappointed if/when they remember and call him.... I love my family dearly, but was too a bit disappointed that their calendar wasn't marked at least.... May have to make a calendar a Christmas list item for them with  birthdays & such filled in..... Their's included! .... We have a very tight knit family, so things get aired & dry fairly quick..Just stinks sometimes the issues!

Thanks Thin! Oh, well, as you say, no gain is progress. Next week, you'll see better results, I just know it! I hope Meg feels better, poor thing. I am so guilty of forgetting people's b-days, more so than your folks are. The only birthday that I remember is my daughter's, hehe. I don't know anybody's birthdays. Birthdays are not important for me - it doesn't mean that I don't care for the person(s), in fact I may love them very much and I care for them deeply, but I can't remember their birthdays. For some people, obviously, it means a big deal and they feel hurt that we don't call or write... which reminds me, I better call my dear mother-in-law. She just had her birthday on the 18th and, as always, I forgot. Or, was it on the 16th? or 14th, maybe? Oh well, every year is the same thing, I forget and call on the wrong day, etc. She is the only one I try hard because I know she cares. I guess I didn't try hard enough, this year. Thanks for reminding me... Anyway, my point is, be easy on them - we don't forget birthdays on purpose, we are just wired this way. I think. Having said that, my daughter is the opposite of me - she remembers EVERYBODY's birthdays, including the b-day of our cats, friend's dogs, etc. Talk about extremes!

Have a good day, my friend!

Baby Jonah is teething, his big brother is having MAJOR behavioural problems () this week & Tayt is a bit confused by it all.. Needless to say it has been a rough week & total mental drainage has set in for me.... I have tried so hard to not let it effect my choices in foods & the quantity (thus, the calorie counting).... I know that when things settle I will feel better for standing my ground with myself, due to this being temporary troubles & realizing () that eating isn't going to fix it!....

I have to keep myself as busy as possible in between refereeing, rocking, feeding & nurturing them all to the best of my ability.... To be mom to other people's children is a joy & I feel privilaged that they have chosen me to be responsible for their children... Balancing between still making sure my kid's feel like they have a 100% mom to them as well though is always a task, sometimes coming difficult and I wear thin in patience...

I once thought (so to speak) & often told people that I could be spread a bit thinner, due to me being a "large" person, but found that physical size has nothing to do with it... Ha Ha!... I used sattire with myself when I was 237, due to my own embarassment of size 9/10 times.... Still a bit sarcastic, but more comfortable in my own skin moreso....  Talk about relief! Why did I wait soooooooooo long ?!?! You younger folk...DON'T wait til you are going to turn 40 like I did to do something about it please......

Today is my baby boy's 15th birthday ().... He towers above me @ 6'1" & wears a shoe 3 sizes larger than his dad..... Hid his present in the baby's diaper shelf..... Asked him before going to school to please help me in putting a case of diapers away.... He was afraid he had found something he wasn't suppose to. He thought maybe I forgot about putting it there...I have a horrible track record for forgetting where I put things!()...... Anyways, he was estatic to "discover" an effects petal for his guitar... Now he can add all sorts of instruments to the songs when he plays... Like his own little band sorta..... He didn't want to go to school..... He had been bugging me the last 3 days to go to the music store... I just told him I hadn't had time to get his gift yet... All the while Paul dropped by on his way home from work last night to get it. X-Box 360 was the ultimate gift requested, but not gunna happen on this momma's budget with his b.d.,  my mom's b.d., our anniversary, Thanksgiving, Christmas & then Meg's b.d. in Jan...... I believe his b.d.'s effect me more than my own do. He is still such a little momma's boy @ heart  & I relish that every moment... Now, Meg on the other hand is a whole different ball-game... She is a toughy. independant beyond imagination & stubborn to the core .... hmmmmmm I wonder who she get's all that from??... Dunno!

Calories will be watched today, but may be on the high side. Low blood sugar sometimes effects me (naseau, h/a, weakness, just yuck), so in having a different than usual & higher calorie breakfast I am hoping to cut out snacks for today.... Not sure what the agenda holds for supper is the reason... Ben REALLY wants to go out to eat, which has been the norm for the kid's on their day.... Just this time I will be 40# + ? thinner than I was on Meg's b.d., due to beginning DD the day after her's this year.... Yippee!!!...() I will keep concious of choices made if we do go out.... Tomorrow is weigh-in ( I remember)...

B : o ) French Toast ~ 2 sl. Sprouted Grains Bread (flourless) (180) Egg Whites (51) S.B.P.B.(100) Simply Fruit (20) S.F.S.M. Coffee (25) 376

O.K... Meg has a free kid's meal certificate for Red Robin... Signed Ben up for a free b.d. burger meal coupon that may be in my e-mail before the day is out..... We would go even if not...I went online to check out nutritional facts of their WONDERFUL Cobb Salad (Crisp greens with tender, juicy grilled chicken, hickory maple-smoked bacon, hard-boiled egg, fresh avocado, black olives, ripe tomatoes and crumbled bleu cheese), which comes to 832 calories 46g. fat, 45g. carbs & 57g. protein.... I know I can't eat a "whole" one, even when I ate before ridding of these pounds so far.... If I take away the bleu cheese ( I would anyways-YUCK!), take my own Wishbone Lite Ranch & remove the yolk from the egg & swap most of the bacon with someone else (Ben) for 2 fries. I will certainly take away a great amount of fat & calories ya think?.... Can see if they have 1/2 order too...

D : o ) N.P. Multi-Grain Raisin Spice Oatmeal (180) 180 + 376 = 556

S : o ) Cobb Salad (832 or less)???.... Still brings me in @ less than 1,400..Finger's crossed to come in between 1400-1500 by the time all is said & done Red Robin was WAY TOO BUSY!... Ben had decided OCB as a back-up plan anyways..... Therefore; I chose salad items (easy on the fats & dressing), loads of protein in Chix, small pc. Grilled Steak, Broiled Fish, taste of Minestrone Soup, lil' Orange Chicken, 1 S.F. Ranger Cookie, sq. Cherry Cheesecake & Diet Coke...NOOOOOO CLUE on calories, but by the time I got home, my G.I. track was going full speed ahead......

Much LOVE ~ HAPPINESS ~ SUCCESS is sent yer way !

I loved the quote you mentioned in your comment to me! Its one of my favorites!

Today's food plan sounds good to me. I think with tomorrow's weigh in sitting on your mind will keep you on track!

Happy birthday to your son!

kzirkle on 11/20/2008:
Thanks! That was definitely one time I was really glad to have a sister that's a nurse!

skinnyjeans on 11/20/2008:

Jen40 on 11/20/2008:
Happy B-day to your son! :O) I get sad now when my boys have birthdays, it all went by too fast. Neat birthday gift you gave him too! My Kyle plays guitar and would love something like that. I just love reading your entries. Sorry to reply and run, I did read what you wrote today and it made me smile. I have a headache from the flu that has stayed with me for three days, so I'm just swooping in here real quick. *HUGS*

Tis frosty, cold, wet & foggy today.... Have just lil' over a week before Thanksgiving. Have marked the calendar to not work the day after. No plans to shop "Black Friday"... I am more of an internet shopper...Practicing patience with rude shoppers @ door buster sales aren't my cup 'o tea. Actually am thinking of making some aprons for the family ladies.... Once I get to sewing though, everything else goes to the wayside... I must make sure to keep the house cleaned and orderly or I will not allow myself to get it out.... Discipline for me isn't all weight related!

I have decided to go with a weekly weigh-in again.. Been a while since I structured myself with that.... Plan will be Friday mornings.... Up/Down it will be posted.... Would totally be estatic to see 193-194 by Christmas... At the rate I'm going these days, not sure I can expect much less than that.... I know numbers are just that and the clothing fit along with healthy feeling is the most important. But, I can wish for lower numbers in the process...

Yeah I definitely owe a lot my "sticking to it" to my workout buddy at work, Levi. He really helps to motivate me to work out at lunch and get up and do stairs too. Thank god for the good people in our lives, right! :) Have a wonderful day today. :)

grumpy on 11/18/2008:
I think weighting in every week is a good idea. but be okay to have no progress some weeks and even see a slightly higher number at times. this is a long process and what matters are the overall results. xoxo

skinnyjeans on 11/18/2008:
We just had our first snow today (just flurries for a little bit)...it's so weird because it was humid and 75 degrees here on Saturday! Anyway, good luck with your weigh-in on Friday! :)

ricearoni on 11/18/2008:
Congratulations on the weight loss and sticking with it. I love the leaf image. How did you do it? I also want to get my hair cut in a shorter style but it won't look good until I lose weight. Your cut looks great.

selina on 11/19/2008:
You are doing wonderful! Have a great day!

Jen40 on 11/19/2008:
It's snowing here right now~ nice fluffy flakes but only sticking a little bit. 25 degrees. Your plan sounds great!

Jen40 on 11/19/2008:
LOVE your new haircut!!! I've been thinking of doing it but have wanted for so long to be BOTH thin AND have long hair. But what's the point if I always wear mine up in a bun or ponytail anyway? With all the cooking and cleaning, I HAVE to wear it up. You look younger and I love seeing your face~ it makes your eys appear brighter too.

Look for today to be a good one.... Weather is cold & foggy, but a bit of sunshine breaking through.... I think it is time to start bringing out all the winter attire...Each day is looknig more like snow time....  Put on my dress coat last night to discover I need to be in search of a different one. As it hung off my shoulders & the sleeves were a bit long......Last winter the sleeves were almost too short when I would extend my arms out and the shoulders a bit snug.... Now, off to the coats for the coatless it goes!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night before going to bed, I added 3 miles on the Gazelle to the 2 miles of walking..... Does’nt seem like I should be gearing up to bundle up when walking outdoors... This last spring when the weather was cold I felt like an overstuffed bear with all my garb on..... It will be a bit more comfortable now with some weight gone.....

Agenda today is babysitting, laundry & cleaning my entryway to clear way for boots, coats & totes for mittens/gloves/socks/snow pants.... Look to walk at least 2 miles outdoors as soon as the boys go home....

skinnyjeans on 11/17/2008:
Your new haircut if super cute! I hope you had a great Monday. :)

kzirkle on 11/17/2008:
Haha! Wish you lived in Ohio so that you could experience the amazingness of MELT. I got something called the Wake and Bacon (tehehe) it's a bacon, egg and Gouda cheese sandwich. They have the most amazing bread and fries too. It's damn near my favorite restaurant. I budgeted for the added calories throughout the day so that I'd have enough for the meal. It worked out pretty good! :)

Still can't say enough about your haircut! Super cute! :)

selina on 11/17/2008:
Hi Thin! Thanks for the encouragement, I needed it. As for the website, that's the one I already use to find out how much I should be eating... it's not lack of knowledge, it's just the lack of willpower especially late at night. Will do better, though... Sounds like you are doing great! Keep it up!

kzirkle on 11/18/2008:
LOL twin chin made me laugh really hard! :)

WI3 on 11/18/2008:
YAY on getting a smaller coat! I was THRILLED when I realized my full length leather coat that I bought to help 'hide' my weight, was HUGE on me. I LOVED buying my new, shorter, sexier coat. hehe Have a great day!
